Yes some storyline stuff is kinda bland but if you knew Anything about the hereos arc, which by the way is used in every story made since the beginning of storytelling, you'd know that Bungoe has tried their best to be new and inventive with how the details matter. Whether these details make sense or not. I highly guess most of the negative review people love the fast and furious series, which is in no way as real world as they make it out to be. The only reason I can't give the game a 10 is because their servers are very choppy when new seasons are about to drop.
Stop hating on something before you do a little more research.

After playing it since 2018 (five years ago) my opinion went from bad to actually amazing. Great gameplay, an intriguing story, excellent characters, and overall, a worthy sequel that arguably even better than the original.

It started off as a pay-to-win game with a paper-thin story and little free content, but has developed into a gripping, genuinely fun and exciting game. The storytelling has made massive leaps from the start and it is now one of, if not the best multiplayer shooters around. The RPG quality to the game has improved, and the modification and customisation choices available allow for very unique gameplay compared to other shooters. The music is truly stunning and the scenery only adds to the immersive experience. There is so much to enjoy in this game once you complete the first steps, with many different routes for the player can take: You can play PvP only if you feel that's for you; you can play the story if you want to truly get involved in the lore; and you can play strikes with clanmates or others if you want a teamwork-type environment; or you can enjoy all of these different aspects for a wholesome and enjoyable game The *only* flaw, in my opinion, is the micro-transaction cost and lack of high-level items in the free season pass.

    Overall, a very fun game.

This game is a masterpiece, the best in its genre. Beautiful graphics, mechanics, very good extras. I've never played a better game. The creators of Destiny, Bungie studio is a very talented team, and under sony it will only spread its wings. A wonderful takeover, halo can hide. Microsoft, your punishment is not final. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Expand

However, I liked Destiny 2, it's a game to get lost in from time to time, shoot a few shots, do a few missions and, on occasion, meet up with some friends and have a great time in a 'raid'. The game also offers content to play alone or in co-op in the form of campaigns, associated with content expansions that expand the game considerably. As a shooter the game is a blast. You can tell that Bungie have learned their lesson as the original developers of 'Halo'. A great game that will make you spend dead hours in a very fun way. Highly recommended. Expand

When I played Destiny 1 years ago I said at the time that it was an Excelent Multiplayer. Now, this is like the first 1 but improved noticeably. So, both game are very good. Now, when I played the first one I remember I struggled because I didn't play many shooters back then. And the guides on GameFAQs though very extensive thay dealed mostly with the game like how to progress through levels, but it didn't actually teach or give clues on how to play a shooter. So, if you are a bit like me having not much experience with shooters well I can help, but just a tiny little bit. I've written a FAQ on GameFAQs not on Destiny but on Call of Duty Black Ops 4. So, if you look there for a Blackout guide you find it under this same username. On the Weapons section I give very little comments on each weapon type. Though very little it's better than nothing especially for someone completely in the dark.

Now, that's it. I really enjoyed the game and I may update this text in the future as I plan to play the expansions including Forsaken. I'm really looking forward to it, it looks promising and I've heard that it's great indeed. So, this just covers the base game. And if you read my guide on GameFAQs please don't forget to click the "YES" button if you enjoyed it :-)

And regarding the guide that's something interesting. I love GameFAQs, but for those in need of a tutorial on how to play shooters, or any genre, like racers or RPGs you don't have that in GFAQs. So, Ihave to refer a guide for a specific game to cover the basics. I think it would be interesting if GFAQs included a section on "General FAQs". Not guides for specific games but rather guides on how to play specific game genres like a mentioned shooters, racers, RPGs, MMOs and on. I'm not sure GFAQs has that and I'm not implying I'd write those guides. It's just that when I played NFS Rivals the same happened, I needed to look elsewhere to learn how to play racing games, because I don't even have a Driver License, so I needed to look elsewhere but I still wished I never needed to go outside of GFAQs S2

Well, that's it for now. Maybe will update when finishing Forsaken but not sure if I'll play it right now. Thanks for reading and enjoy youtr Destiny as a Gamer!

Update: I have notplayed through the expansions yet, but I did the assaults and played a bit of the Leviathan Raid. I said I said that Destini 1 was an Excelent Multiplayer, and this is indeed no different. Especially the Raid where you team up with other players with Voip and are required a lot of coordination and teamwork, the likes that I've seen only in MMOs. It's definitely real fun. I'd like to applaud Bungie's take on Matchmaking, for the Raid, they designed it knowing what would it require, so definitely know what they're doing on this issue. I'm glad I finally played a game from the legendary Devs of Marathon and Halo :-) Still not sure if I'll play Forsaken right now but may further update this when I do.

I played the Beta and I really liked the shooting but I was worried that I wouldn’t enjoy the grind and just keep doing the same Strikes over and over again. Typically one of my biggest gaming pet peeves is doing the same thing over and over again but it didn’t bother me here. I definitely got caught up in the loot based grind.

This is a game that is meant to be played as a co-op experience but I played most of this game as a single player game. I didn’t even play with friends until after I played through the entire story, level 20 and probably power level around 200.

There are plenty of things to do in this game and I enjoyed them all. Between the story missions, the adventures, the public events and the Strikes. There are couple modes that I just didn’t care for. One was the Nightfall which was basically a harder strike, its okay but I didn’t like the timed aspect of the Nightfall. I like to take my time and eliminate all enemies, not run past them. There is the Crucible which is the competitive multiplayer and that’s not why I’m playing that game. Lastly, there is the Raid which is a 6 person event that takes hours to get through. I’m not very good at video games and I feel bad when I’m bringing down my team. I don’t want to be the guy who’s bringing down the team so I feel better just not doing it.

Where this game truly shines is in the combat, its the tightest shooter that I have ever played. It just feels good to shoot things in the game. I chose the Titan class because of its definitely the most defensive class. I like to be a little “tankier” so being able to put up the wall and shooter enemies over the wall definitely fit my play style. There is some platforming in the game which is okay but I just don’t like platforming in first person.

This is a game that people are going to say, “you should play with friends” and yes it is fun to play with friends but it’s not terrible playing alone either. I have no reservations to say that this is one of the best first-person shooters that I have ever played.

You can go ahead and read all of the other people's pros and cons for this game. I'm just here to tell you that it's totally worth picking up. x2

Graphics are great, story is acceptable but nothing special but the actual gameplay is enormous fun and just the right level of challenge. I just don’t get gamers these days, you really prefer shallow cartoony multiplayer pirate sims?

    ACTUALLY READ! IT IS HELPFUL!

I love this game. Many of the reviews that are negative are most likely people who don't actually take the time to grasp the beauty and complexity of Destiny. Even in Destiny 1 vanilla, they got 3 big things right: Gun feel, aesthetic, and the hidden complexities. Now, I know some people dislike hidden lore or even searching for 3 seconds to read up on a character, but it is well worth it. It adds a layer to the game that not many other games have. It allows for those who want a quick 50-hour experience something to do and feel accomplished about and it gives those who want a 1,000+ hour experience something to feel proud about. The hidden lore isn't nothing either. It explains the mysteries of Ghaul's rise to power and who his mysterious teacher is. It covers wowing feats from incredibly depth characters. It tells of a time before desolation. It engulfs the innocuous secrets of Oryx and legendary evil, the darkness. It has most likely the most in terms of story than any other game out there. People who complain about a lackluster story forget all the incredible cinematic masterpieces presented to us throughout the campaign, and the missions you can face afterward. Those who complain about a lack of content haven't gone through the struggle to collect every weapon or gain every achievement, or even play the incredible raid offered to us (more on that later). However, all great things have faults. In this case, the biggest issues are gameplay repetitiveness, hardcore content, lack of new enemies and weapon repetitiveness. If you are looking for a game that gives a new experience every run, this isn't the game for you. The fact that one new enemy was added to the base game is annoying and seems lazy; however, I quickly changed my mind when Curse of Osiris was released along with new enemies for all the vex. The story is unfaltering and fairly easy. If you want a game where even after your ninth of the same gun you still feel proud of it, this isn't for you. I do believe that even with those faults the game still delivers an incredible experience that will make you smile at every corner.

The raid that was released in D2 is one of the best experiences in a game ever. The bosses feel challenging and rewarding to play against. The implementation is near genius and fits into the story perfectly. The time that it was released was slightly late and would have been appreciated sooner; however, with so much new information to explore it was hard to truly feel finished with the game.

Curse of Osiris was D2's first expansion. It served its purpose as a cheaper $20 DLC well. It added new story content and gave me a higher incentive to play and continue to mow down tons of enemies. My only complaint about this DLC is the heroic adventures, which are normal adventures only dialed up in difficulty so much they are nearly impossible for a solo player to finish.

Bungie, the creators of destiny have been rather annoying in the game as well recently. They tend to ignore the serious issues and instead go after small bugs that nobody is complaining about. They have been taking a very poor approach to fixing issues. One example is the recent controversy circling XP throttling. A game mechanic that gave players who played less an advantage over other players. That said, I still have faith in Bungie to realize their faults and turn some bads into only goods.

In summary destiny 2 has been a rollercoaster of a game and has some incredible pieces that have been either poorly implemented or just left out. Its cons are many, but the pros far outweigh them. Destiny offers a long-term experience as well as a short-term one. I only hope that the next addition to the franchise is as good if not better than the first. If you found this helpful please rate i so as I put tons of effort into writing this review. If anything confused you (naming characters from the game may be one), just know all will be revealed in the game.

Good story, good gunplay, fun pvp and beautiful vistas. There are very few games that once you hit weekly milestones you keep going back to when you dont technically have anything to do. this is one of them for me.

Too many focus on COSMETIC microtransactions, or negatively rate the game because its not Destiny 1.

The multiplayer is a lot of fun, and story missions are more interesting and rewarding, with level design as good or perhaps a bit better than D1. I also love the giant metal clad antagonist, very scary. Not crazy about the 3 gun system, seems rather redundant at times, but I can also see the justification for it's implementation. A very entertaining and ambitious game. Expand

I do not think this game is Ideal. There is always room for improvement. But Destiny 2 is pretty close to what I may call a perfect game for me.

    Pros:
Nice visuals, fun gameplay, lots of different activities, open world (with enough exploration to do), full coop with friends

    Cons (personal opinion):
Progression is too fast (needs more grinding to feel more rewarding), storyline is a bit bland, could use more subclasses/builds/weapon types

    Wishlist:
third person, a crafting system and/or randomly-generated gear, procedurally generated dungeons

First time playing through the full game, as I don't like using controllers for shooters. This game looks amazing on PC. The colors are brighter, and the textures are crisper. The depth of field is better, so you can see see more of the game world. sound is good. For example, if I fire an auto rifle in a canyon, there is reverb. Very nice.

Let's be real, though, this aint Witcher 3 levels of detail, but its nicer than console. By a mile.

The story is the usual, "The world will end unless you help" fair, but it's competent enough to be interesting the first time I played through. Good voice work, too. Wish there was more of it.

Communicating ingame is harder than it needs to be, but things like Discord solve that. It needs matchmaking for Nightfall, and the like, but I assume that is coming later. The public events are fun. The Raid is really hard the first time, requiring patience and good communication with your fire team.

    TL;DR:

This is a good shooter/ action game. Needs work on communication and more story content would be nice. Worth your time.

After spending well over 50 hours in the new MMO-RPG-FPS that is Destiny 2, I decided to make a review as many people and Youtubers seem very divided on how good of a game it actually is; what it strengths and weakness's are.

For one, let me just say that Bungie has chosen 3 very different genres to turn into a game, and many people choose to only like one of these. A very common example would be comparing a Call of Duty player to a World of Warcraft player, where Call of duty is a very fast paced game with relatively simple concepts, you hold a trigger to shoot, a joy stick to move around and press it down to sprint. World of Warcraft is almost the polar opposite, with dozens of abilities to use, one giant map, and more items than there are hairs on your head. So, when you combine these two things, it doesn't always turn out the way you want it to, leading to a lot of mixed reviews. As of what I've noticed so far, it seems that Youtube critics seem to dislike the game, while Internet reviewers seem to think it's great. Personally, I think it's a good, but not great game that suffers from some issues that could be easily fixed.

    GAMEPLAY-

Destiny 2's gameplay is a mixed bag to say the least. it functions like most First Person
shooters should with strong MMO elements tagging along. One thing the game does great is showing a good visual progression of your guardian. What I mean by this is that when you first get to "The Farm", you look pretty beat up and are limited to a couple of weapons, but by the end, you find yourself looking like a cooler version of Batman, with many Guns and Subclasses to Impress your friends with (or just look cool in).
As for actual gameplay, it's a little weak, and can sometimes seem a little bland. I picked the hunter class, so I'm sort of used to just shooting my gun and knifing in between long ability and grenade cooldowns. When you fight enemies, they don't put up much of a fight, either. Often I will find myself wondering when the fight will be over while i'm either fighting millions of waves of enemies, or am fighting a boss with millions of health. One thing that really gets on my nerves is the fact that hip firing does less damage than aiming down sights. I found this to a not only bad feature, but also completely pointless one, by doing this, the game is punishing you for making hitting enemies more of a challenge.

    STORY-
I'll keep it brief, but destiny 2's story, sucks. While it may have been better than Destiny, I still found it quite uninteresting and hard to follow. A very brief summary would be that everything is normal on earth, until, one day a red legion full of fat dudes resembling grunts from Halo decide to take over the traveler, and strip everyone of their superpowers, until one day you suddenly are drawn to a shard of the traveler that's broken off but still works and gives you superpowers again. Zavala, a fallen gaurdian, then, instead of getting superpowers from the same place, turns you into his slave and has you do all of his **** for him, including saving literally everyone in the solar system. FIN.

    PVP-
I actually quite liked pvp in destiny 2 and found it to be my favorite part of the game, it functioned a lot better than the original and unlike a lot of games nowadays, you feel like you actually help your team by doing good. Ultimates in this game aren't overpowered, and you aren't faced against them too often. They also only come once or twice a game, causing many players to use them at ideal times, rather than right away. Power ammo could be a bit better. They have a map spawning system rather than earning it, so it can get quite annoying dealing with campers, or teamates alike.

So that's my review for destiny 2, a good game that suffers from a couple issues that could be fixed, but otherwise fun,

It's addictive and I love it... but the single use shaders is kind of a pain. Micro transactions feel pretty much non existent and are really easy to ignore but yeah... the single use shaders is a little annoying and hinders player customization until late in the game when you get high level gear.
Also, the raid is pretty brutal in my opinion. It's heavily mechanics based and although the recommended power level is 260 that's way off. If you check bungie.net and try to find random people to raid with then most won't take you unless you're in the 290's, equipped with the right and gear and know what you're doing. It's really not a friendly or inviting game mode and generates a lot of frustration because you can't carry players. Everyone has a key role to play at all times.
Despite my quibbles I still give it a 10 because it's so much fun and i've put more time into it than any other game this year.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Destiny 2, the latest addition to the series is an overall improvement to the first Destiny. Unlike the original Destiny, Destiny 2 has an actual story line planned out starting off with sorrow and tragedy, progressing towards redemption. Although the original wasn’t terrible, so far the sequel has done everything better, from the voice acting to the impressive graphics and framerate.
The gameplay of Destiny 2 is near perfect. Ok, we have only seen a little bit of the game however from what I’ve experienced so far, the game runs smoothly with no dropped frames, this paired with the fact that there is a smooth-flowing momentum to the game results in flawless gameplay. With a game like Destiny 2 it is necessary to have working textures, not only for lore but for overall enjoyment- and Bungie has hit the nail on the head with Destiny 2. With the incredibly improved graphics from the first Destiny, something had to go wrong, it seem just too good to be true; however the final release of Destiny 2 was outstanding with very little flaws to the world design.
When it comes to the storyline of Destiny 2, it could have gone any better, with very few flaws in the story, players are left with an action packed storyline that tugs on the heart. From the very start you are left with devastation after the destruction and sorrow as you fight to redeem yourselves in the eye of the traveller. During the story you get to level from level 1, all the way up to 20. This is done, very cleverly, with a set campaign to follow, you will level up in no time, although say you get bored of following these quests (which is very unlikely), Bungie has very kindly given you many other ways to level up, such as adventures and events, which reward you with better gear. Moving onto endgame, the first main target is to finish the campaign which rewards you with the ability to obtain more powerful gear, while also granting you access to the new social space. After you finish the immersive questing, your next aim is to raise your power, to get your guardian as strong as you can get him. This is obtained through the all new strikes- a series of events that you have to do, to the reach a powerful boss at the end to obtain your loot. The loot chest always drop rare gear, which go up to 260 power. Along the way you can pick up rare, legendary, and even exotic engrams which can be decrypted and turned into very high power gear that often come with slight buffs like “enemies explode on death.” Along your course to 350 power, there is also the weekly nightfall, which also rewards powerful gear, as well as the raid, Leviathan, which is do-able with your own team at 260, however is recommended to have 280 if you are using the whole new guided games system, which allows you join other people looking for other members to do Leviathan.
However PvE (Player vs Environment) isn’t the only thing there is to do In Destiny 2, you also have the PvP (Player vs Player) environment, called The Crucible. This one of the many things to do during levelling, or at end game. There is also a competitive or casual aspect to it as well. On the competitive side you are teamed up with other competitive players to eliminate the enemy team before they eliminate you. There are many game modes such as control, countdown, clash, supremacy, survival and Trial of the Nine, my personal favourite being survival. The aim behind survival is that each team has 8 respawns, and once each team have used up all their respawns they are out, and have to spectate. This creates a competitive environment where guardians can go to obtain gear and show their worth.
The world design in Destiny 2 is astonishing, and navigating through the different planets is made simple, with a touch of the touchpad you can open the roster, and all the destinations you can travel to, as well as view you quests. Each world has its own environment and enemies, with plenty to explore and fast travel evenly distributed in between. This paired with the fact that this is vanilla Destiny 2 sparks a lot of hope in terms of new planets, where expansions have been confirmed with the release of the limited edition, which contains the season pass. As seen with the first Destiny, Bungie did an adequate job while spacing out the expansions, and left a small space each expansion where content had dried out for new players to catch up.
Compared to all the new competitors released this year, Destiny 2 is definitely up there with the best, with easy controls, brilliant graphics, and the addictive grind for gear it is very easy to become addicted to this new release. The constant release of new expansions provides a fresh start, often as they come with a new level cap- Unlike many new games this year to that tend to leave their content to run dry.

    Introduction
Destiny 2 is a fantastic and compelling game. However, it does lack somewhat in content and originality, yet it is still a massive improvement from the state of the base game of its prequel - Destiny 1 - at Launch. Destiny 2 includes thrilling cinematics during the campaign which make the sequel look like it was made on Unity by a fourteen year old. As much as it adds to and changes the franchise - such as the new game modes in crucible and the acclaimed “Adventures”, which make patrols a whole lot more enjoyable – It does feel a lot like Destiny 1, which is not a bad thing as they have used the same amazing mechanical formula to keep me coming back and Bungie have done a great job at keeping and improving so many aspects of the game, for example the grind for loot is still incredibly addictive and is more so with the new loot to be discovered and claimed. However, it is not without its faults, due to a lack of content, for example, I only ever seem to be able to play two or three strikes, making for a very repetitive grind for gear.
    Prequel
There is no doubt that this sequel is far more enjoyable than Destiny 1 was at launch, and that is because Bungie has learnt from their mistakes. Mistakes like having an incredibly lacklustre campaign, and making the characters that we (eventually) grew to love, bland and almost pointless (I’m looking at you Mysterious Exo Stranger).Destiny 1 only grew properly during the third expansion The Taken King, and lots of new content and changing up the gameplay, bringing in many new players. Destiny 2 seems to be following in these footsteps so far, including breath-taking cinematic cut scenes, with a dash of their famous humour (mostly from fan-favourite character Cayde-6), topped off with beautiful set pieces and incredibly addictive and enjoyable gameplay. I personally believe that really one of the only negative parts that Destiny 2 has borrowed from its predecessor is an overall lack in content. Don’t get me wrong, Destiny 2 has a lot more to offer, however it still feels underwhelming when the campaign is completed in around 8 hours, and then you are dropped in to repeating the same strikes or go on the same crucible maps again and again. I just want it to be spiced up a little bit more.
    Gameplay
Well… it’s basically Destiny 1, with a whole lot more explosions, enemies, death, fun, and more explosions. It is by far the most enjoyable game I have played in a while simply for the gameplay alone. Its simplistic use of controls mixed with the fluidity of gunplay adds up to a near perfect experience, I just wish it had more variation. I am yet to attempt the raid so bare that in mind as so far a majority of what I have done is the campaign, followed by the adventures, then grinded out crucible and strikes. It gets slightly dull after a while… Yet I’m always drawn back, back to the rewarding feel you get when you finally obtain the exotic piece of gear you’ve been searching so hard for, or when you finally have a power level high enough to attempt the nightfall and begin to grind all over again.
    Competitors
I don’t have much to say about Destiny’s competitors as it is such a unique game that really can’t and shouldn’t be compared to another. However, if I am to compare it to other shooter giants such as Call of Duty, then I’d say that Destiny 2 is a whole lot more enjoyable, for me that is. I grew tired of COD’s mechanics that never really change, whereas Destiny and Destiny 2 are the type of games that keep me playing all night, and once I do finally get some sleep, it is with me in my dreams. I can’t escape it and I love it. I wouldn’t really call it a competitor, but it is clear that Destiny and Destiny 2 can be compared to the Halo series for the right reasons. However, this is only the case because they were both amazingly designed by Bungie, and should only be compared in how well they are doing in creating truly great games.
    Multiplayer aspects
I’ve always loved this aspect of Destiny, because it has brought me so many enjoyable moments and new friendships. Destiny 2 does not lack in this factor, it even improves on it with guided games (matchmaking essentially) into previously only organised fireteam game modes. I believe this will bring the community a lot closer together, and will allow for almost everyone to play the end game content, which Destiny is basically made for. In addition to this, Crucible is still a massive part of Destiny 2, and is such an amazing way to play competitive PVP.
    Final Verdict
In conclusion, Destiny 2 is an amazing game, however it lacks in content at the moment, which actually makes me look forward to the future content Bungie releases. It includes the same incredibly addictive formula of gameplay, with a few new twists in additions, I just wish it was a bit easier to reach end game without having to grind the same few activities.

I hope in the future they start catering to a more grind focused game because the best moments i held in the original destiny came from grinding, in the new game there is no point to play the raid because you can get just as good loot from the nightfall and flashpoints. No se que carajo esperan del juego, si saben que destiny es asi, obviamente no va a ser un fifa, es muy parecido al destiny 1 con muchisimos arreglos y mejor pulido.

It is better than Destiny 1 so that is a plus. The art is great as usual so it is a good looking game. If you played Destiny 1 not much has changed since you just get reset to nothing to start the grind over. At times I could not tell the difference considering enemies and assets are almost the same with little changes. The improvement is in the story delivery, now it actually feels like a complete game even if the story is you get your butt kicked and your city stolen then you gather your allies and assault the bad guy and take it back. Most of the things that made you come back over and over just for the sake of grinding and not fun are gone. It still takes a good amount of effort to get to the highest level but really there is no point in doing so since enemies scale for the most part.

The bad parts which depending on who you are they might not be bad is that the game can and will feel a bit easy. The connection issues are there for PvP and the inability to select PvP game modes is annoying.

The levels required for the better parts of the endgame like the RAID and Nightfall are fairly easy to reach anything more than recommended is just bonus if you have the people to play these activities with.

You can play this game if you have not played D1 without feeling lost since the story in D1 was so badly told and mostly irrelevant to D2 you can just read the Wikipedia if you want to know more. Also there are things that are redone so this feels like a minor reboot.

In general Bungie listened and made the game more casual gamer friendly for people too busy with life which is what all fun games do and should do. If you are a casual gamer you will like it better than D1 since you can reach a point where you feel like you are done until the next DLC/expansion etc.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Bungie delivers Destiny 2 as an improvement of the original and to my surprise they pulled it off really well. Destiny as a whole had a solid formula for a great FPS and MMO but was executed poorly. However Destiny 2 maintained that formula but executed pretty well.

Destiny 2 offers a rich cinematic campaign with a coherent story and tangible threat named Dominus Ghaul of the Red Legion than the supernatural entity known as the Darkness in the original Destiny. The characters are fleshed out even more and don't feel like the the cliche old boring character that gives out exposition before starting a mission. Characters such as Zavala, Ikora and Cayde were fleshed out and felt like actual characters that we can relate to. Although the campaign was more or less a very cliche story to sum it up is basically a villain comes to ruin everything and we as the hero save and defeat the villain and doesn't really have anything unique to it.

The game adds 4 new destinations: European Dead Zone on Earth, New Pacific Arcology on one of Saturn's moon Titan, Arcadian Valley on Nessus, and Echo Mesa on one of Jupiter's moon Io. Each new destination improves on what the concept of exploration with Lost Sectors, Regional Chests, Public Events and Adventures through the open world. You can also land in specific landing zones scattered throughout the destinations maps instead of a specific location like in Patrol back in Destiny 1. However, some destinations felt kind of rushed for example Io which is by far the smallest destination in Destiny 2 and disappointing as the Pyramidion had potential to be an open world dungeon but it's just closed off and can only be accessed via the strike.

The loot haul is more rewarding now and didn't feel like a chore at all in Destiny 2. It's by far the biggest improvement of the game. It made me want to grind more and it felt more rewarding the more i leveled up. Even at it's most grindiest the loot haul is still rewarding. It can however have the potential of people throwing their controllers as Engram drops are still random and can result in people can weapons they already own.

Destiny 2 offers a variety of activities including Strikes, The Crucible, Public Events, Nightfall Strikes and the Raid. However the activities have problems on their own in particular loot. Loot is more rewarding and each activity does merit the same amount of loot. The problem is that some of these activities take really long to complete and are not even worth doing if their not on the milestone tab. An example of this is an incentive to due Public Events rather then Strikes as the Events are much more quicker to complete and merit the same loot when doing a Strike. Aside from this, the activities are fun in particular the raid. Raids in Destiny have always been a staple of why players play the game. They offer complex mechanics, enforce communication and teamwork to complete without offering guides within the game forcing players to do trial and error in order to learn the mechanics and rewards you immensely when completing an encounter. However you also get tokens in each encounter and these tokens are used to earn reputation from the Raid faction and earn loot via RNG. Again, this can cause some people to think the grind isn't worth it as there is a potential to get the same loot 2 times in a row. Loot for completing the raid and Loot gained via leveling up with the raid faction.

Other negative things I like to point out is we don't get a sparrow until the end of the game despite Bungie knowing that these destinations are big. It felt like they did this to increase playtime and hours in the campaign. The only way to get a sparrow before the endgame are through bright engrams. And unfortunately my second negative concerns are the micro transactions. Shaders are now one use consumables that you can obtain. However, cool legendary shaders are locked via these Bright Engrams. Although Bright Engrams can be obtained via leveling up, they take a long time to get. It's basically like OverWatch's loot boxes. I would be fine with these engrams however they also had to add mods to these engrams. Mods are basically consumables for your weapon and armor and perform specific things if you apply them to weapons and armor. Legendary mods up weapons to 5 attack and or defense. Although not that bad, it is kind of a scumy way to enforce a pay to win system in Destiny 2 as a 5 attack and or defense can really make a difference.

In general Destiny 2 is a major improvement of the original Destiny. Although still flawed and kind of ruined by micro transactions, the game showcased that Bungie did listen to feedback and criticism on the original Destiny and improved on the game. I recommend this game.

The nightfall strikes are much more entertaining with timers that force you finish them quickly or be ejected to orbit to start over. It is more of the same, but what sequel, or expansion, isn't. The amount of quality of life improvements is enough to keep you coming back for more.

It seems that all the low reviews are complaining about micro-transactions and calling it pay to win have not played this game. The micro-transaction items are shaders, sparrows, and weapon ornaments. Nothing that you can buy with real money is going to give you an advantage in the game. Anything that can be bought with real money can be earned in the game and again, it's only cosmetic items.

Crucible is fun but areas are also mostly copy-pasted with only a little new stuff. And grinding same type of missions is sometimes frustrating because all you need is luck to get better gear, hardly based on skill at all - except Nightfall's and Raids but luck is also present there.

I can understand why fans of the first Destiny have complaints about this version. It seems the shoot and repeat can get very repetitive. From what I'm reading that hasn't changed much here. It seems Bungie didn't want to rock the boat too much for their hardcore fans.

However as someone new to the game I'm very impressed with what the team did with this game. Most notably the shooting feels great. The different abilities are all very well done and are something you don't see in other shooters. I'm probably most impressed with the lighting here, especially interiors. I thought after the beta that they focused only on the first missions but the lighting looks amazing throughout. Even when playing with other players. This impressed me throughout the game. It looks incredible when players are using their flashlights in dark areas.

For me there are less negatives and more just missed opportunities. Knowing what this team has done with the Halo franchise I'm disappointing in the lack of vehicles. The shooting feels amazing but it'd be nice to take a break and use vehicles for combat. They're used very sparingly in the campaign and then are missing from anything else I've done so far. Also, there are no flying vehicles. The fact they're using a ship to get from planet to planet you would think there would be something that could be used for combat.

In terms of multiplayer I really like the game play and modes. I think 4v4 works well here . However, I think it would be amazing to throw in some enemy NPC's into the mix. Something similar to Titanfall. I think that would be a great blend between PVP and PVE.

Overall the game is a ton of fun and from a technical standpoint is very impressive. The worlds are all huge and hopping between them is very fast. For the scope of this game I thought the limited load times is something all games should strive for. If you're on the fence about buying it I highly recommend the game. It's not perfect but I think it does so much right and different that it would be a shame to not give it a try.

Even if Bungie backtracks on some of these horrendous missteps, there’s evidence that the dev team is either flailing around without a clear idea of the experience they want to present, or even worse, they’re happy to offer the least amount of mediocre content possible until the player base starts pushing back. When free-to-play titles like Warframe and Let it Die seem monumentally more generous and offer vastly more entertainment value than a triple-A sixty dollar release built with a budget large enough to feed whole continents, it’s clear that something has gone horribly wrong.

Destiny 2 is tough to compare to other shooters or games, but it is evidently a better title than part 1. The campaign is longer, the progression makes more sense, the structure is more satisfying and the sheen and splendor on the various planets entices even more. Destiny is comparable with its predecessor after the add-on The Taken King, and is therefore a more solid foundation for the coming months of content.
