Unless you’ve already bought this as part of a season pass, don’t waste your money on Curse of Osiris until Bungie actually changes direction, and I’m not talking about executing their proposed changes which painfully miss the mark yet again. The base game of Destiny 2 is a great shooter for 50-60 hours of solid content on your first play through of a redemptive story. But there is no endgame to keep going beyond that and there isn’t anything packaged into this DLC than enhances that initial experience. At this point, if you’re desperate for a looter/shooter then either fire up Destiny 1 again, watch Anthem videos on YouTube and hope for a brighter Q4 2018, or else maybe go give the Division a chance. It had a dumpster fire launch but can be had on the cheap now and I hear it’s become a very good game in its current state.

As you work your way toward the new level cap of 25 and power level of 330-335 (depending on mods), there’s a decent amount of new content to experience. Sure, Mercury’s small and the strikes are a letdown, but between the world building, new gear, and gameplay features such as new Crucible maps and Raid Lairs, there’s a fair amount of fun to be had in Curse of Osiris.

Destiny 2’s first substantial piece of DLC may look pretty, but it’s a surface fix that misses the mark on truly pushing the series forward. [Provisional Score = 6.5]

Enigmatic, visually stunning, but so far a bit lacking in substance.
  4. All I can really say is that Destiny 2: Curse of Osiris is sufficient for someone like me, an admittedly casual Destiny player. I’ve found it worth the price of admission, and satisfying once consumed. If all you want is sufficient motivation to jump back into the blessedly refined firefights in Bungie’s online shooter for another week or three, Curse of Osiris probably won’t disappoint.

Curse of Osiris is disappointing. There’s nothing here to tempt you in if you’re not already keen, and nothing to calm the anger of those who are – we’ll be waiting for a Taken King style re-release for the latter.

Even with the bundled "quality of life" changes they released with this "expansion" it is laughably barren and empty of anything worthwhile. More recycled D1 exotics, a tiny playable area, and atrocious writing have made this a serious case of buyers remorse for me.

All good-will Bungie earned from me in Destiny 1 is dead and gone. I may never play another Bungie title as long as I live and I am definitely done with this hollow shell of a game.

It's clear the end-game has been locked behind Eververse (loot-boxes). Our guardians have been nerfed into the ground. They took away all our items only to trickle them back to us as watered-down D2 versions.

The quality of life changes include a nerf to the shoulder-charge to prevent it from being used as mobility.

I played Destiny 1 the other day and the comparisons sum up Destiny 2. I'm disappointed and bored. A gorgeous game with amazing sound can't make up for everything we've lost.

I feel slow, weak, and mute. My guardian won't talk. My guardian can barely sprint anymore. My supers are weak. My subclasses are wet-noodles and constricting to choice. The armor is pointless and so are the mods.

This game is greed and hubris in a box.

Summed up, Curse of Osiris is beautiful to look at, but empty inside. This DLC is extremely short, has terrible story and dialogue, and does nothing to further the lore or mystery of the Destiny franchise.

I think their attitude going into developing this paid content was "What's the least we can get away with, and still charge money?" They use recycled content (again), like a new pool of weapons which use existing skins, but have new (mostly trash) perks. One "story" mission from the DLC is just a strike from base D2 with some modifications and nothing new to add.

I have played better content for free from other developers, and that is a problem.

Almost forgot, there is a bounty of new content (ships, ghosts, shaders, sparrows) but it's all behind their Eververse micro-transactions. Instead of making the game play rewarding, they decided on a shameless cash-grab. Again.

Stay far away, do not waste your money on this.
