    I get the controversy but I find this game to be absolutely addicting and incredible. I think a lot of people just are jumping on the hate train who haven’t even played it which is honestly pretty pathetic.

    Refreshing, new and unique. Quirky as all heck, but I would gladly take that over the same tired tropes that the game industry tends to push out when they try to play it safe. This is a slow burn, but the more I played the more I feel in love with it and now it's one of my all time favorites.

    Just finished my 50+hr playthrough, and wow! I have never played anything like Death Stranding before. The storyline was incredible and although it was slow at the beginning, after 8 hrs, the gameplay became addicting as well.
    This is easily one of my favorite videogame experiences of all time. Thank you Kojima!

    you should not have a hive mind about this game, just because people are dumb enough that they don't understand the meaning of original or unique (which by the way nothing is unique or original all the original things were created already in a technical way) so if you wanna immerse yourself in a world full of weird things and actually get to play something unique for once and not another shooter or open world with a quest every five minutes, give it a shot    … Expand

Que ca soit les musiques, sa réalisation, son histoire, son casting même son gameplay qui peut en rebuter plus d'un, a mon sens rien n'est a jeter. J'ai beaucoup de mal à lui trouver un défaut, j'ai trouvé que tout était cohérent. J'ai ressenti la fatigue et la lourdeur des différents voyages sans pour autant en être lassé, j'ai même fait plusieurs livraisons secondaires juste pour pouvoir profiter des panoramas que le jeu m'offrait. Personnellement, c'est le seul jeu dans lequel j'ai préféré avoir des fins de voyage sur fond de musique que récolter de nouveaux items pour mieux avancer. Juste à penser à l'air de BB's theme j'ai des frissons. Pour moi cette œuvre mélange parfaitement jeux-vidéo et cinéma.
    Et enfin, quand on voit le premier trailer de 2016 puis ceux qui ont suivi, je ne comprenais pas du tout où ca allé m'emmener, et je me demandais de plus en plus si ce jeu finirait par avoir du sens. Et bien, après l'avoir fini j'ai été entièrement satisfait, j'ai même re-regarder le premeir trailer pour voir si celui-ci n'était pas incohérent et si ca collé avec le jeu fini, et bien évidemment c'est le cas.

    Мне игра понравилась и я от неё получил и удовольствие с кайфом и примерно то, что ожидал от Кодзимы (с чьими играми я знаком). Мне было очень интересно на протяжении всей игры а финал меня не только не разочаровал, но и очень даже зацепил.
    Лично для меня Death Stranding - это игра года.    Мне игра понравилась и я от неё получил и удовольствие с кайфом и примерно то, что ожидал от Кодзимы (с чьими играми я знаком). Мне было очень интересно на протяжении всей игры а финал меня не только не разочаровал, но и очень даже зацепил.
    Лично для меня Death Stranding - это игра года.

    Play it for yourself. This is one of the most addicting and unique games I have played this generation. Its themes are layered into the mechanics like nothing else out there. The story and world provide just enough information to keep you curious and invested. You will lose yourself in the exploration and deliveries.

    GENIUS! Good graphics and odd cinematic. Indeed, the cool game is one of the main Playstation exclusives. The only thing that was boring was the locations in the game, all somehow deserted and the same.

    Most meditative game of all. The best game to relax after busy day. I totally agree, not every man will like that game, but i love slow and beautiful games. For all time there are no repeating locations.
    - After completing the plot, game becomes boring, because you have walked all locations and there is no any interesting actions around map.

    Don't buy it !! You will be treated like Amazon couriers and plus 2 means of transport are useful, the bike is nailed with a crumb and the truck has paranormal driving system. Driving without a steering wheel helps you understand driving sistem.

    The game is just boring and it supposed to be poetic but it is just pretentious. Dark Souls is a poetic game, death stranding is not, the game just scream at you his metaphor (wow social networks , get like you see you're connected but you're alone). In the end it's not a tottaly bad game but it's just average and all the kojima hype proove once again    I just can't finished it..

    El juego es aburrido como ningún otro, se basa únicamente en llevar encargos de punto A a punto B, contando con algunos obstáculos que no presentan reto alguno, estos encargos son OBLIGATORIOS para poder avanzar en el juego. Cuando por fin enfrentas a enemigos y crees que habrá algo de acción llega la enorme decepción, ya que la IA es muy idiota, dejando irrelevante la mecánica de sigilo, ni siquiera en los combates contra Bosses el juego resulta divertido, basta esquivar y esperar a que aparezca un fantasma que te ayuda lanzándote munición o simplemente salir del perímetro del boss si ya estas harto de tan mala programación.

    El uso de escaleras y cuerdas no tiene sentido, simplemente con dejar apretados los gatillos pues pasar cualquier terreno corriendo sin caerte.

    La publicidad descarada de series y bebidas es descarada, y con la misma animación una y otra vez.

    Las misiones secundarias son lo mismo que las primarias, solo cambia el contenido de los paquetes, de drogas a un pizza o tonterías así.

    Death Stranding es muy repetitivo, tedioso, y aburrido al punto de que irónicamente vas a pedir a gritos una cinemática para pasar de una monotonía de juego (caminar, caminar y caminar presionando 2 botones para no caerte) a una monotonía visual (cinemáticas tras cinemática), y viceversa.

    A unique experience which will be great for some and boring for others. I personally love the exploration, route planning, cargo management and intriguing storyline. Feels like Journey and other games where you play a slower paced gameplay and enjoy the ambience.

    Freakin Amazing!!! This is a masterpiece of a game, went in very negative and skeptical of DS, BUT a BIG...BUT, this is truly a game to behold. It won me over. Haven't been this emerged in a game since Dark souls 3 and Sekiro.

    The story is interesting and engaging, the gameplay is fun and relaxing, I really enjoyed the experience and was really excited to see each turn the story provided. It was great, especially the hades segments.

    Flawless graphics, great storyline, and a very original game. I don’t understand some of the hate the game gets. Do people have that little an attention span? It’s not perfect, but it’s very close.

    This game has to be the best of this generation! Yes you do have to put in a good ten hours for it to really get going, but even those hours are filled with an amazing story and lore. The gameplay just works! (Bethesda take note!) I’ve not come across a single glitch in over 60 hours of play. The sound track is amazing, the acting is spot on and the meaning behind the story is seriouslyThis game has to be the best of this generation!     This is the best postman simulator to date

    I understand this cup of tea is not for everyone, but it was a long time since I played a game as immersive as Death Stranding.

    Music, casting, graphics are great. Story so far (about 30h slow gameplay) is... kojima, which is kind of why I bought this game.

From ladders you can chain together for bridges or high cliffs to anchors and rope to repel. Build a portable P.O. Box. Leave gear for other players help each other make deliveries.     Para mim uma obra prima, Kojima conseguiu entregar o que prometeu, mas felizmente como é minha opinião pessoal, posso dar dez a essa bela obra prima, infelizmente o hater em cima do jogo vai ser alta e agora não podemos mais confiar nas notas por aqui porque o povo só da nota simplesmente para dar hater nas coisas!

    Best looking game I've seen. I like narrative driven game and, well, it's narrative driven alright. Fascinating, new concept and I must say, relaxing as well. True, not for everyone BUT everyone should try it at least once, like sky diving...erm..ok ..maybe not skydiving..

    10/10 , No idea why are so many people that are speaking broken english leaving negative comments or why are they so butthurt but this game is absolutely amazing . Such an immersive experience so far, the story is amazing graphics are great and im playing this game for over 10 hours straight now . So thank you Hideo Kojima, the amazing developers and everyone who helped to make this awesome game .

I understand why they gave up so fast, I also hated painfully slow gameplay and repetitive cutscenes until episode 3. I feel alot of the reason people think that is because sony had marketed this game as an action 3rd person shooter.     It's full of little Details, sidekicks to classic literature, movies and philosophie!. Just google "Odradek" for instance, an item described as "useless" in Franz Kafkas "Die Sorge des Hausvaters"(1920). The fact that kojima takes this idea and uses it in a    This Game is truly a work of Art!, right up in in a league with games from team ico (Shadow of the colossus / The last Guardian ).

    I really think this game doesn't deserve the "walking simulator" label that has been applied by many. Yes, it is a game that features (among other things) a simulation of walking, but the traditional meaning of walking simulator is for games that are devoid of any gameplay at all (like Dear Esther and Edith Finch). Death Stranding, however, is absolutely full of gameplay.

    I haven't played any of Kojima's other games so I didn't have any expectations as to what Death Stranding was going to be. But for me, it's my favorite game release this year. (and YES, it's fun!)    … Expand

    It's a shame some players bought it expecting another "Call of Duty like game".
    I agree with another comment that says you gotta have a minimum of 120 IQ to play this game.
    Kojima released a 49 minutes long video explaining every concept of the game, still people thought it would be another COD. Hilarious.

    Итог - мы имеем очень крутой сюжет в совокупности с потрясающем саундтреком и общей медитативности , но очень однообразной рутиной. Как по мне игре не хватает разнообразия , интересных ситуаций и разнообразных боссов П.с по меньше стеллса !!!

    So after 45 hours of gameplay I've finally finished Hideo Kojima's new game Death Stranding. Here's what I have to say. (no spoilers).

    This game is an enormous emotional journey and not for everyone, if you are looking to burn through a game full of action and fun moments then I would say don't play this game or you'll miss the entire point of the experience. This is a game firstly    So after 45 hours of gameplay I've finally finished Hideo Kojima's new game Death Stranding. Here's what I have to say. (no spoilers).

    This game is an enormous emotional journey and not for everyone, if you are looking to burn through a game full of action and fun moments then I would say don't play this game or you'll miss the entire point of the experience. This is a game firstly about solving a deep puzzle. It involves self reflection a better understanding what life and death is and finding purpose in our real life full of struggles and frustrating obstacles. It's my current opinion that this game is one giant love letter for people who are considering suicide. To help disconnected, lonely, frustrated and angry people find understanding and purpose in the toil of our everyday mundane life, to begin building the foundation of courage to make a go of life even if ultimately you will die and every thing you have done may be meaningless and full of suffering.

    In my opinion, this game is an iceberg. Small on the surface but its enormous underneath whats plainly visible. If you buy this game, know it will frustrate you. If you rush this game you are gonna have a bad time, its built so that people who rush will experience the most frustration. If you think this game is for you, be in the moment and take seriously the obstacles this game puts in front of you. Connecting with "Sam" the main character and empathizing with his journey is the only way to really get what Death Stranding is about.

    Let's start with simple things. First of all, good GAMEPLAY is something that truly works with the general idea of a game and that the latter benefits from all this. Guess what? Death Stranding works greatly with this type of gameplay mechanic. In this game, you have to think while walking. You'll have to think about the steps you're taking. Although this will not seem interesting enough and too minimal for some people, believe me, it creates a New World. You have to think about the road you're going to take, micro-manage every piece of cargo in a smart way and adding to these you have to think of the terrain and weather conditions... You see... you're a tiny Man in the middle of nowhere. The vast lands, edgy mountain rocks (that get very slippy when it's raining) are your enemies. There are more "natural" enemies too of course and especially the BT's will transform the game in a much scarier experience. The only thing that I would consider a problem are the controls that some times lack precision. But it's happening in a very minor proportion, so it's really not a huge issue. IF YOU LIKE to play a good written-unique-delicate game it's going to be a 10/10. Believe me, there's nothing else like this out in the market right now. I'm going with a 9.5 and that's because as I said there are some minor problems with the controls from time to time. MY FRIENDLY OPINION is that you should actually play this, give it time to grow in you. Don't get drawn by impulsive opinions.

    This is the best game in the world! The genius lived up to expectations! The plot and the play of the actors is beyond praise. Game mechanics are unique but after 20 hours it may seem monotonous but then you will realize that this is not so. One of the most significant games of the last decade!

Что можно сказать: Лор и сюжет отличный и это мало сказано, геймплей не для всех, небольшие проблемы есть, графика отличная.     I find this game fascinating. It's a weird mix of metal gear stealth and story style with a dark souls online social game. It's the best online experience I've ever had in a game cause it's all helpful and encouraging. You can't get in somebody's way, just help. It's so refreshing.

    If you liked MGSV or Ground Zeroes, there's a good chance you'll find this an engaging and challenging game featuring a unique setting that makes use of its environment in a novel way with traversal mechanics not found elsewhere. The game takes a good while longer than usual to get going but without spoiling anything once it does you're in for an unforgettable ride.

    then you will most likely enjoy this game. The reason I've mentioned those games is that they have 1 major element in common. It's takes hours to get through a lengthy intro and then the games really take off. You have to have some patience and also you will not shoot a hundred enemies in the first level like COD. This game is very slow paced but also very thoughtful and you will not begin to see this until many hours in. At least like halfway through episode 2. Give at least that much time, like 10 hours.

    If you like a game you need to sink your time into in order the get the most out of it, then Death Stranding will not disappoint. The graphics and immersiveness of the environments will suck you in. The draw distance on consoles is incredible, even beating out RDR2 in fidelity. If you have a pro and an HDR TV your in for a real treat.

    The gameplay is slow paced except for times where enemies show up and you need to improvise. So far that has been my favorite moment in the game as I had to run and scramble up some precarious cliffs, deviating harshly from very well though out route. After I lost the baddies I luckily had made two ropes previously and was able to rappel down to safety. Like Alien Isolation, improvisation and quick thinking payed off.

    That's not to say the game is without problems. The inventory system and delivery terminals are a hot mess of confusing menus and information. I'm sure it's all useful in some way, but i'm not there yet. Also, the story is typical Kojima with a lot of exposition. It can get annoying sometimes when you keep getting calls on the radio from the supporting characters non-stop while your just trying to take in the game and play. So for me, these things detract from the game, hence a 9 score.

    So just want to touch on one more thing. I read through the negative reviews and see that most people probably did not even play the game or maybe played a few hours after release on Friday. Metacritic should really get a handle on this crap. If the game is not for everybody that's fine, but these ridiculous zero scores with no substance need to go. If you give the game a low score and provide some reasons for this, that's fine. But reading many of those reviews just made me realize that I should get the game, because just like the games I mentioned above, this game is not part of the same rehashed norm that AAA games have become.

    The new COD gets rave reviews, and yet it's just the same game as the original that came out like 12 years ago. And some people just want more of the same which is cool too. I'll spend my time playing Death Stranding, something new and interesting.    … Expand

    - Some lines of dialogue/messages/themes/names are quite heavy handed, & will no doubt turn some people off, but I'm willing to forgive these since everything else about the game is outstanding
    - It would be nice if there were more graphical & sound options in the menu.
    - The game should not be set in the USA 'from sea to shining sea' --it should be Iceland, Greenland, or Alaska.    … Expand

    Death Stranding delivers a new exiting gaming experiance, and while it's true that some people might find it repetetive to do the deliveries back and forth. Death Stranding more than makes up for it with interesting gameplay mechanics and great story.

    Am I having as much "fun" as I did with MGSV? No. But I'm more engaged and the fun I'm having is amplified by the unparalleled production, drink-from-the-firehose lore setup and constant wonder that seemingly extracted from isolation.

    A masterclass in pivoting away from toxic, violent game design to empathetic world building and dynamic immersion through very simple but involved hiking and item management mechanics.

    Yes the game is not for everyone and involves a lot of travelling and will take you awhile to gain the fast travel option. I for one, refuse to do so because the landscape is so detailed and it feels so real with the terrain. You have to watch your footing when traversing especially when carrying heavy and unbalanced loads. Rugged terrain like sharp rocks, valleys, rivers and steep inclines are you real enemies. Throw in your rogue porters who'll steal your gear, rain that will degrade your cargo and the BT's that lurk in them and you're up for a real challenge early game. Unfortunately, that's when it changes when you get some decent weaponry and tools to deal with them and it becomes a bit too easy.

    Characters and story is where you see Kojima at work. Quirky character names like Die-Hardman, Deadman, Mama and Fragile all play a big part in the story along with Sam. Big names with the voice acting with Norman Reedus, Mads Mikkelson, Guillermo Del Toro (excited because he would helped Kojima with the story and characters), Lindsay Wagner and Troy Baker do a fantastic job.

    Game has great musical score and it really feels like you're watching a movie. Some great tracks from Low Roar which really gels with the current scenario.

    Overall, the game is great and can't wait to tackle it on a harder difficulty (played on Normal) to see if combat can be a bit more challenging. But it isn't a deal breaker as the game is more about the journey.

    Haters gonna hate. Stick to CoD and Fortnite. No need for toxicity in this game ; )    … Expand

    Finally something new in the realm of AAA titles. Always loved Kojima's games and I was very excited to play this game. However, I do undertand that it's not for everyone. That was also the case for the Metal Gear Solid series.

    I think Death Stranding is a very special game that tries to do something diffrent. I wouldn't recommend it to everyone. But try it at least.

    This game is addictive. Definitely not for everyone. It isn't an action game. It is more of a graphical novel with a complex storyline, mixed with resource mngt, tedious but rewarding 'walking' missions that are basic fetch quests to enhance your abilities and push the story forwards.

However after reading that the game doesn't get good until 15 hours, I stuck it out and boy did it ever get good! I think alot of the combat and other mechanics should have been introduced earlier to make a more fun experience. But I really enjoyed my time with this game and it DOES NOTI gotta say, I almost sold this game in the first two chapters. So slow and such a frustrating grind.     It's like if the games "Journey" and Metal Gear Solid had a baby with more niche games like Eurotruck simulator and Lost in Blue.

    It gets better the further you get in, you really feel like you are working together to create a connected world. There are more ways to deliver a package than most AAA games have for choice in their entirety.

    To give you an idea, my first full delivery I accidentally fell into a river dropping all my packages. I desperately swamp t shore against the stream, bolted down the river and tossed a ladder down to block the packages so I could regrab them.. As I do I get attacked by terrorist bandits and we fight it out on the ladder, I knock one in the face with a case sending him into the water and tackle the next.

    Now I drive around in a truck that I keep loaded with all sorts of traversal options for every delivery task and even have a network of mechs and roads.

    They've managed to get great graphics from an ageing console. Anybody leaving bad reviews just doesn't get it, it's pushing boundaries on story telling and social interaction in gaming. You feel connected even though your playing single player, I don't do multilayer either.
    I can see a few updates will only improve the gameplay.

    I don't know why people are complaining , death stranding isn't that bad or boring game and the cutscenes are amazing

    Such a satisfying and calming game. The cinematics are almost like a big budget Netflix production, very well executed. Great cast, beautiful graphics, fascinating concept and wow..... That soundtrack man. It's just heavenly. This game is unlike anything I have ever played. 10/10 for sure

    The most immersive game I have played since red dead 2. As a huge fan of survival simulation games the gameplay here was everything I could want it to be. People say I really like “dad games” maybe this is another one of those? The story kept me at the edge of my seat also. If you enjoy weighty games and more survival based games I can’t recommend enough.

    Death Stranding is creating a new game genre and therefore paves its own path towards more interactive experiences. It is a brave work thanks to its novelty, which fortunately is not a bragging right for its creators, as it may have seemed, but an exceptional title that will reward the brave who play it.     This game does manage to be fun, even if it is one of the heaviest experiences of 2019. Everything from story to gameplay is begging to be dissected, filled with imagery and symbolism -- just like so many Kojima games before this one. Entering Death Stranding, it’s likely that we all thought Kojima’s calling card was lengthy cutscenes and stealth and action gameplay.

    Death Stranding stands as a powerful author’s game which drives a strong message of how our over-connected society is evolving, and how we can help other players. Unlike many AAA games, it shines on a truly spiritual level. Well written, engaging and visually magnificent, it offers, despite some pacing flaws, an astonishing solo game with elegant multiplayer elements. A unique representation of Hideo Kojima’s talent.
