    This game is a piece of art. The industry has become numb to cookie-cutter copy and paste games such as COD and Madden. "I don't understand the game so it has to be bad is the mindset." Think independently and give the game a shot. It is beautiful.

    This game is shockingly good. Honestly it should come at no surprise considering the studio and creator behind it. The attention to detail is phenominal. I feel like the PS4 pro can only scratch the surface and the game should run on ps5

(which non of these reviews that are out now have btw) Anyhow, I just felt that I need to step into the rescue of this Masterpiece that a few self-entitled **** decided to throw dirt on just because it isnt cod or someother game that demands for instant gratification to be "fun". Kojima and his team, tried something new, AND IT WORKS, so you'll either hate the game or love it. But even if you hate it, don't base your review on what you think it should have been, because no. This game wouldn't have worked as a movie, (as some have stated) No, they shouldn't have added fast travel etc. It would have ruin the whole experience of the game. This game is really enjoyable because it's hard. This game works BECAUSE its so frustrating sometimes. I've seen some people call this game "The Dark Souls of world traversal" And it truly is that.

    Now lets ignore these children and focus on the game. It's big, gorgeous and hard to traverse. For me, it's never boring, its hard. And that's really everything I'm gonna say. I really believe this game is something YOU need to experience for yourself without spoilers. If you need instant gratification to have fun, don't buy this. Play something else :,)
    But if you want to experience something truly new, uniqe and wonderful. Try it out. Compared to everything that has been released in a very long time, this truly is goldglimp of hope for this industry. We dont need the same thing over and over again, we need new and innovative ideas that work with the concept of gameplay. And Death Stranding does that really really good!

    Only reason that I'm not giving this a 10/10 is beacuse I havent finished it. But It probably is a 10/10. Cheers    … Expand

    This is a great game, it’s well made, the story grips you because you are constantly learning and understanding what this game is about. I never write reviews because I agree with most that I read but I’ve never seen so many people wrong about a game because they were clearly expecting something else.

    Great game, not metal gear solid 6, don’t buy if you can’t give the game your full attention.

    Death Stranding is a game that is, and always will be polarising. The 0 reviews are justified, unhelpful, but justified. There is very little combat, long cutscenes, and almost the entire game revolves around making arduous somewhat monotonous journeys to deliver parcels.     There's no other game like it, both good and bad. Whether you'll like it has a lot to do with if you just enjoy doing things and challenging yourself to do it. Honestly I give it a 10 but can see why it's divisive. For me, though, it's the game I've wanted for a while.

    The story is interesting and engaging, the gameplay is fun and relaxing, I really enjoyed the experience and was really excited to see each turn the story provided. It was great, especially the hades segments.

    Very Cinematic game, much slower pace, but overall enjoyable if your looking for something different. The voice acting is great, the graphics are good. Interesting but odd story, but overall enjoyable. Consider Death Stranding if you're looking for something different, out of the box.

    No os espereis el tipico juego de accion porque no lo es, es mas profundo. La sensacion de estar solo es abrumadora y muy bien conseguida. Labhistoria me esta pareciendo fascinante sinceramente.     So the game mechanics aren't there to make the game more fun—and that is the exact point I think some gamers can't accept. The mechanics are there to help build on the idea, the experience.

    In that, Death Stranding is brilliant. All that value built up from game mechanics working towards a concept catalyses the story: rebuild America together.

    The fun comes from the ability to immerse yourself in the game, and invest yourself in the story. If the player is superficial in their approach, they won't enjoy the walking.

    And that is fine. Actually, it's great. I think it's bad to gaming, as a whole, to try and have games be for everyone.

    It's fine if a AAA game pleases some people enough that they'll give it a 9. For the ones that gave it a 1, get a refund—and find another game to play. You don't have to like Death Stranding.    … Expand

    This game is the best achievement in gaming sphere in a long time! Kojima-san just bring us something we've never seen before. I have to admit that the missions are a bit repetitive, but, it doesn't kill the game. So good!

I’m wondering how far those that are giving this a bad rating have progressed in the game. Get past episode 3 and things pick up. I took my time and I’m actually glad I did. If you don’t like grindy games, this one isn’t for you. Just move on. No need to give it a badI’m thoroughly enjoying the game. First time playing a Kojima game.     Of course most of the people would not understand and enjoy it just as more ambitious movies and music are not mainstream as well. I found this game absolutly brilliant so far and if you have open mind you're gonna enjoy it too. Trust me.

So the first and most important thing to consider is: does a product such as this deserve a 10 because you enjoyed it and, more importantly, does it deserve a 0, a 1, a 2 or a 3 just because you disliked it? Subjectivity doesn’t mean “this is terrible because I don’t find pleasure in it”, on the contrary, it’s the development of a solid critical judgment through reason and experience.

    That said, the game isn’t for everyone, mainly because the concept can and will sometimes result in what is typically conceived of as “boredom”, yet this outwardly negative sensation is not explicitly so, for it is in not in catharsis, pleasure and “fun” that the most thrilling experiences are delivered in and from life, but in pain, challenge and struggle. Does this make for a “good” game? No, definitely not. If you play videogames so as to fulfill a power fantasy, for pure, mindless relaxation or for entertainment, this game may not be for you, just as a novel by Dostoyevsky or Heinrich Böll may not be for a fan of Harry Potter: is Harry Potter bad? Not inherently so, just as other plainly entertaining games are not bad, yet their goal is more straightforward than that of Death Stranding, and still never would a profoundly touching story as Crime and Punishment receive the solid standing reviews of Harry Potter, why? Because it’s complex, saturated to the brim of intention, and an artistically human sum of its parts.

    Again, does that make Death Stranding a good game? No. I believe this is not a good game, but the beginning of a new way of delivering aesthetic experiences. This is not a good way in the traditional sense, but it doesn’t want to be, not always at least, and that’s why I didn’t grade it with a 10, because sometimes, it seems to me, the game wants to become a plain game, offering traditional bits of gameplay, which don’t seem to belong to the overall arc of what is, essentially, a masterpiece and a new outlet for the diffusion of human creativity.    … Expand

When you a start off playing the game you learn by what other people did either they put a ladder to help you climb or they left you a ladder so you can set it up the way you want. The game allows you to play exactly how you want to play and it has the best 4K graphics out of all ps4 exclusives or any game that’s been released, it’s stunning. AsIncredible game! A must play for PS4 owners! When you a start off playing the game you learn by what other people did either they put a ladder to help you climb or they left you a ladder so you can set it up the way you want. As you progress through the game you become more connected with other players that have previously completed the area and most of the time they leave a shortcut or assist you into getting out of danger when BTs are around or a hard to reach area. The story is very well told and keeps you engaged, the gameplay is good, the visuals are the best of the best, it’s a survival game played anyway you want, side missions are extremely rewarding, and helping the UCA build the UNITED CITIES OF AMERICA great again is amazing. Your building roads, bridges, vehicles, and so much more to get to areas quicker. Хочу сказать, что если ДО выхода, когда игра была на руках только у журналистов, можно было спорить о геймплее, механиках, сюжете, то сейчас откровенно непонятен поток отрицательных оценок, причём проекту ААА-класса, котому по определению моветон давать оценку ниже 4/10 исходя из количества контента, проработке и прочих аспектах. Не буду говорить оНаиграл немногим более 20-ти часов. Хочу сказать, что если ДО выхода, когда игра была на руках только у журналистов, можно было спорить о геймплее, механиках, сюжете, то сейчас откровенно непонятен поток отрицательных оценок, причём проекту ААА-класса, котому по определению моветон давать оценку ниже 4/10 исходя из количества контента, проработке и прочих аспектах. Не буду говорить о звуковом оформлении, графике, сеттинге и сюжете - всё на высшем уровне! Что касается самого спорного момента - геймплея, то могу отметить, что пусть игра и строится в основном на механике доставки грузов, процесс не ощущается рутиной, потому что игра грамотно "подкладывает" новые фичи, "механики" и задачи, и я не говорю уже о системе связей с другими игроками, которая не только вносит сильнейшее разнообразие в весь процесс, но и органично проходит через сюжетную и геймплейные составляющие. My only advice is that you progress the story to chapter 4 before really doing all the side quest stuff. It will be a lot easier and more fun thanks to the gadets you’ll unlock during the main campaign. Death stranding is a masterpiece with beautiful graphics and music. The story is a slow burn and gameplay-wise the first 10 hours are difficult, as you are learning the game as well as your character being essentially “level one.” Once you start to learn things and get more equipment, the game starts to open up and become more freeform. As well as the excellent cutscenes (which can be boring, sorry, not everything is entirely captivating) you get lots of reading material to peruse at your leisure; it’s short and well-written and usually adds to the lore or story. I’m not going to get into the gameplay much, it is what is it. I really enjoy exploring these environments and navigating my character through paths in the terrain, avoiding enemy human MULEs or ghostly BTs that appear during “timefall,” rain that accelerates damage essentially. All the systems work together wonderfully to immerse you in this dangerous and foreboding world. I know its long and a lot of people are put off by what they think are tedious mechanics, but honestly the whole game just works. It’s a pleasure to play, to relax and soak in. I’d hate to have to rush through just to review it to pay my rent. What a waste that would be. Play Death Stranding with an open mind, don’t try to slot it into some preconceived notion of what you thought it was supposed to be.… Expand

You have to pay attention, without imaginig yourself to this world, without your attention, you may feel that this game is boring, just because you did not experienced a fast paced, action filled segment in the first hours.

    It is slow at first, yes. I would say that the first 20 or so hours are part of the tutorial, in which you are introduced to the core mechanics of the game, the settings, the world, and a few characters. The first 3 chapter is about building the atmosphere, exploring this vast new world filled with danger and sadness. But it's not boring, it's just not the usual. In the first 3 chapter you will meet with BT's, and the human enemies but they are there only for introduction, a warning of what will come. But even in these slow chapters there are difficulties. Although there are only a few deadly hazards, the point of these chapters in terms of gameplay are to teach you, how you will be able to get from point A to point B later in the harder missions, and in terms of story it only serves as a basic starting point, where you will meet the main characters. So, in two words: it's about world building.

    Then, at chapter 4 things will change and while you will still have a lot of questions (more than ever), there you can finally see, that this game is more, than meets the eye.

    About the gameplay: You make deliveries, that is true. But it's not a walking simulator, that is a lie. As the game and story progress, the gameplay will be more and more fun. First you don't have anything, you walk until you reach your destination. Then - as more and more cities, and people join you, and the network you are building - you will have an ever expanding invertory and knowledge. With almost every city you'll get something new: slowy you begin to build up your arsenal: machine guns, shotguns, rocket launchers, grenades, and trust me, you will need them. But it's not only about weapons. You will have the chance, to build different structures, that will help other players in their struggles. You can build shelters, which will protect you and others from the "Timefall", a type of rain, that will fasten time on everything it touches, you can build generators for your vehicles, or your exoskeleton, bridges across rivers and many more things, that I do not want to spoil. So even the walking will be fun with this kind of equipment, and the feeling that you help others, and you will always know when you helped someone, because the game will inform you.
    But there are enemies, and boss fights too, so the gameplay is not really just about delivering. They will be more and more dangerous as you make progress, but you will have new and new methods of defeating them. BT's will be around you lot's of times, and you will be ambushed by humans too. You can fight back, you can stealth, or you can run. Choose wisely in the given situation. I heard from a lot of sources that the boss fights just didn't do justice to them. Well, for me they were almost always fun, not because the level of difficulty but because the atmosphere and story aspects of them.

    So after all this, this is what I can say about the pacing: It's slow at first, but not boring. Then it picks up the story, and you start to care about the things that are happening. It becomes more and more complex in terms of gameplay and gamer choices in a given situation. Slowly the enemies are becoming more dangerous, and then, at the last 4 chapters it's all guns blazing, every detail comes into it's place, bosses are coming one after another, and in one last delivery at the end, your soul will be crushed.

    About the story: It's complex, well thought out, original and very sad. It's not problem if you don't understand it first. You won't get it after 30 hours neither. But in the end all will be clear, and it can touch you on a level, that very few games are able to. The acting is top-notch, the emotional impact, especially around the ending, is strong, and the conclusion will leave you with a tons of thoughts. From the original concept of rebuilding America, you will get to a point where it is all in a different perspective.

    So, in my 50 or so hours of gameplay only once I felt a little bored, when for some reasons I couldn't continue my journey, and I had to make deliveries in one region, right after the story gets intense and really interesting. But after that part, everything is forgiven, altough that 4-5 hours is the reason, why I won't give 10 points to the game.

    All in all: This is a great game, try it, and judge it afterwards, because watching videos of it will not bring the same feeling. It must be played.    … Expand

    Very well made. The games story starts off a little slow but the gameplay starts fast. Beautifully paced mixing the gameplay with cut scenes to help you really get into the world. You do need to understand this is a story base game. It’s not a run gun game. It’s more about out thinking the world.

Resumir el juego en repartir paquetes es como decir que red dead redemption 2 es un juego del oeste de ir pegando tiros y cabalgando en caballo. Una pena, porque el juego es una pasada.

This is not your shoot em up style game, it's not your MGS replica. Some of the action sequences were good others were below average tbh but this game was never meant for action. Every great game doesnt need to be an action game and Death stranding has proved that. The gameplay is innovative and has multiple genres though I didn't feel anything about some " New genre " Kojima was talking about. I recommend playing this game on hard mode.… Expand

I think you need to be late teens and older to understand/appreciate this game. It is not for people with short attention spans. The story starts with you thinking, wtf is going on. but as the game progresses, and you read emails/interviews and see the cutscenes, you begin to grasp whats going on in the world. The last few chapters of the game make everything clear and to be honest has the best ending of any game I've ever experienced. It really was sad when it was all over. However, I am still playing post game, and now +100 hours in, as I platinum games, and still enjoying the mechanics of the game to get the last trophies.

    And this is the big hurdle I think for a lot of people, you have to stick with the game to get the most out of it. Get past those first 5 / 10 hours and you will see, you cannot not get this based on what others say, you have to experience this game for yourself.     Demasiado aburrido para mi gusto, de verdad no se recomiendo a nadie, la historia es una justificacion porque no tiene nada que ofrecer, graficamente es genial pues no se duda de esto siendo el motor grafico de guerrilla studios, un gran desperdicio de recursos en un solo titulo,

    Es increible la forma de tirar todo el potencial con una jugabilidad adurrida.

    I really wanted to like this. The promise of game better than MGS V with complete story was just not delivered. World building is great, most of characters are likable (mostly the secondary ones tho). But the story is complete salat. Super complicated, but still does not makes clear any of basic questions about the world and the plot. Could not recommend really for 60+ hours game

But then we have the story and boy (!) it's really interesting sci-fi tale. If you like something new and fresh, with alot of sci-fi then Death stranding won't disspoint. Then we have the graphic and it's the best out there for the PS4.This game has really boring gameplay.     Pros and cons:
    + Amazing, ambitious cinematic storytelling with an incredible scope
    - ...that can get kind of cheesy, overwrought and cringe-worthy ("Princess Beach") at times and blatantly bashes you over the head with its core theme again and again and again and again...

    + Some of the best motion- and face-capturing performances ever seen in a video game
    -... and some that are straight out of uncanny valley

    + Innovative and unique approach to gameplay
    -... that can be REALLY tedious, annoying and repetitious at times. Yeah yeah yeah, the tedium is part of the overall experience and message of the game, I get it, but nevertheless, I found myself asking myself at one point: Why tf am I doing this to myself? Why am I simulating the tedium and torture of wading through knee-high snow in a white-out where I can't even see where I'm going? Couldn't I be doing something more enjoyable with my spare time? Maybe Kojima intended this, maybe not. But the question remains: Don't we play video games, because, on a very basic level, it's enjoyable to do? Shouldn't a game just be fun to play, and not just a vehicle for a message and a story?

    + An over-arching theme of connection and bringing people together that gets expressed through both story and gameplay and the innovative concept of asymmetric multiplayer where you essentially play a single-player game, but feel the presence of other people going through the same experience and you can help each other out and make the journey a little easier for everybody.

    - Dogsh*t controls, especially for vehicles and climbing. Sometimes Sam just easily and automatically steps over small rocks with no extra input (like it should be), but sometimes he doesn't do it until you press X to climb. Like really? The game could not figure out what I wanted to do in that moment? Same thing when you approach a ladder, you have to press an extra button to climb it. WHY? Releasing a game with climbing mechanics this bad more than two years after BotW came out is just an act of ignorance. All in all, the control-scheme is unnecessarily convoluted and over-complicated. Even skipping cutscenes is made more annoying than it has to be, because they're cut up in little segments and you have to individually skip each one. WHY??? Just to keep the theme of tedium going?

    - Vehicles not only control terribly, but aren't even that useful most of the time, because you're just going to hit a rock every 2 metres unless you're driving on a road.

    + Lots and lots of unlockable items that allow for a more differentiated, sophisticated delivery experience as the game goes on

    + Absolutely insane graphics for PS4

    + A thick sense of atmosphere

    + Spectacular boss fights
    -...that, unfortunately, like the rest of the game, never present any real challenge.

    + Beautiful environments in a big open world
    -... that doesn't really look much like the USA at all. No wonder, when the crew did their location scouting in Iceland? Wtf?
    -... and that doesn't really encourage exploration and basically only serves as an obstacle for your delivieries

    All in all, although it can be incredibly tedious and annoying at times and it has a lot of padding and a lot of problems on a very basic mechanical level, I'm glad Death Stranding exists. It's certainly a fresh and unique gaming experience and its theme of connection and bringing people together seems very relevant in this day and age. Ironically, gamers couldn't be more divided in their opinions about the game. ;)

    Is it the masterpiece that so many expected and rave about? Well, in some aspects, like cinematics, scope, uniqueness, and theming, yeah. In others, like controls and gameplay variety, definitely not. It's incredibly hard to find a rating here and I've never been so torn about how I really feel about a game, which is an achievement all in itself, I guess. DS is a game with a message, but I think that message could've still been brought across with sounder underlying gameplay mechanics.

    Let's put it like this: If you like Kojima's brand of bat-sh*t insane story-telling, are open to a new and unique gaming experience in the form of a "social delivery simulator", like inventory and resource management, and are willing to go through quite a lot more tedium than is normally expected from a video game, give Death Stranding a try. If you were expecting MGS VI, only like action games, don't appreciate lengthy cinematic story-telling in a video game and/or are very impatient, this is DEFINITELY not for you.    … Expand

    Personally I'm enjoying the game, and this game fits perfectly of the sentence "not for everyone" cause usually people would give consistent scores like mostly 6, 7 or 8, but with this there's so many scores that gives it 10-8 and 0-4 and I've never seen people giving scores like this. but again i say this game is not for everyone

Те, кто говорят, что игра симулятор ходьбы и ставят ей 0 или 1 понятие не имеют о чем говорят и вряд ли вообще запускали игру. Геймплей если и мучительный, только в контексте мучительно интересный, а красота графики и местный саундтрек на высшем уровне. Играл от Кодзимы только в MGS V. Прямо скажем, не зашла та игра. Это я к тому, что не фанат. Играется игра гораздо интереснее, чем просто смотреть на неё из-за плеча и ее геймлей на крутится вокруг перестрелок. Но если вы не планируете до старости играть в плюс-минус одни и тебе игры, то я бы советовал купить эту или хотя бы не рушить рейтинг, если даже не играл ( стримы смотреть и играть это очень разные вещи)… Expand

As you get further into the game and begin upgrading Sams stats and unlocking new ways of traversal it really opens up the possibilities and gives a real sand box-like experience. Vehicles are extremely fun to navigate with. I found it a fun challenge trying to climb steep cliffs with a motorcycle or truck so I could arrive with all my cargo, and the power skeletons are a godsend for maximizing the amount of gear you can travel with on foot. The acting is for the most part excellent all around. Mads Mickelson is a stand out, especially towards the end of the game. There are a few characters that come off odd, but they are relegated to side missions that aren't integral to the games story. The story is so intriguing and deep and it makes you want to get down to the bottom of what is going on in it's bizarre and stunning world. Sometimes the way it is fed to you can be a little on the nose or strange, but it didn't detract from the story it was trying to tell overall. There are so many memorable moments that impacted me on a deep emotional level. Game graphics need no comment, as they are easily the best looking graphics of the generation. Performance was extremely solid on my PS4 slim and I didn't encounter a single glitch or noticeable drop in frame rate. Character, enemy, and environment design is all top notch. Everything has had a painstaking amount of detail poured into it and it truly shows. Bosses are such a spectacle and can be quite challenging if you are unprepared to deal with them. Normal BT's are extremely nerve racking when you encounter them and have led to some truly intense and memorable moments. At the end of the day there is truly no game like Death Stranding. The best way I can describe it is an experience. When I completed it, it felt like I had been on an epic journey that I had put my blood, sweat, and tears into. Riding the highest highs and crushing lows right along with Sam. It's a game that can only be fully appreciated and understood by actually playing through it entirely. I truly believe that once the dust on controversy has settled, people will look back on Death Stranding as one of the best and most important pieces of entertainment media ever created. Up there with the likes of Inception and the Lord of the Rings. I will never forget my time with Death Stranding, and as I completed my journey I was sad that I will never be able to experience it for the first time again. For those who are on the fence about this game, please give it a try and go into it with an open mind. If you can actually make it to the end of the journey, there is no way you could call this anything less than a great game. For me, it is a masterpiece and sits atop the throne of my favorite games of all time.     This is an ambitious game that is unique in almost all aspects. For this I applaud the developers. The story is wild and the gameplay is engrossing. While this game isn’t for everyone, it hits the mark for me.

    I finally finished and was willing to work for my 1st platinum in Death Stranding. Many times I've thanked Mr. Kojima for this game. I was in the middle of playing a different game, DS stole me away instantly. About 350 hrs later, (I milked the heck out of this game) what an experience! It was beautiful visually, the story was engaging and wonderfully... bizarre, but not so far fetched; atI finally finished and was willing to work for my 1st platinum in Death Stranding. Many times I've thanked Mr. Kojima for this game. I was in the middle of playing a different game, DS stole me away instantly. About 350 hrs later, (I milked the heck out of this game) what an experience! It was beautiful visually, the story was engaging and wonderfully... bizarre, but not so far fetched; at least not in my mind. The music was amazing. Acting was perfect, save one scene at the end with the president (no spoilers.) Game play: I loved all of it!!! well, I wasn't fond of combat with the humans, just because I wasn't, it wasn't bad, I just preferred to avoid at as much as possible, which is a choice you can make. I loved fighting the BTs, or not fighting them as well, there's other options to "release" them. The options for traversal were fun, it was like trying to figure out a puzzle; what's the best way to do this, this, and this, knowing what you'll be possibly facing. I can't understate the beauty of the world! To traverse it, and I use traverse, so many people say "walking sim" lol, I spoke with someone recently who thought that, started the game, and died, immediately. Not a walking sim! So much went into traversal. Sharing the world with others in a building, but non-seeing way, lol, very interesting and certainly helpful. When you're just about out of energy & a generator shows up, nice. Packages are sizzling away and a timefall shelter appears in the distance, thank you kind stranger. Scaling a mountain and ran out of rope, someone just happened to put one up near by, perfect! Definitely made you feel, like you had an invisible helping hand of strangers in an invisible community. It's a shame so many people who haven't played it are still giving it bad reviews. Or they played only a small amount. But, from what I read, there's just no reasons stated behind most of the bad reviews, so my belief, they didn't play it.
    In summary, Death Stranding is beautiful aesthetically and musically. The story is interesting and definitely full and engaging. The world is an oyster and you are the pearl. The gameplay does take a moment to get the hang of, it's different, but so very addicting. If I didn't have so many games in backlog, I'd be playing it again, I miss the world already. I voted this GOTY. I'm so glad it got awards though, it deserved many. Such a interesting story in a beautiful world. It's engrossing, if you buy it, you will, most likely, spend a lot of time there :) Happy gaming, keep on keeping on!    … Expand

    This game is definitely not for everyone. It's slow pace building up the world around you. which I appreciate learning more about. I find the weight mechanic interesting and so far the game hasn't really disappointed me.

    Beautiful scenery amazing story and engaging gameplay. Whoever is not liking this game is because they were dumb enough to buy a game without knowing what the game was. It's like buying tetris and complaining that it isn't call of duty. Next time do some research on what you're buying before you do and don't criticize a game just because it's not the game you wanted to buy.

    Original y diferente. Si no te gustan los típicos juegos de disparos y buscas algo que te aporte nuevas sensaciones y formas de explorar, te encantará. No es un juego comercial. Hay una cantidad de curro detrás de Death STRANDING, empezando por el diseño artístico, orografía del escenario y acabando con la banda sonora.

It is a brave work thanks to its novelty, which fortunately is not a bragging right for its creators, as it may have seemed, but an exceptional title that will reward the brave who play it.     This game does manage to be fun, even if it is one of the heaviest experiences of 2019. Everything from story to gameplay is begging to be dissected, filled with imagery and symbolism -- just like so many Kojima games before this one. Entering Death Stranding, it’s likely that we all thought Kojima’s calling card was lengthy cutscenes and stealth and action gameplay.

    Death Stranding stands as a powerful author’s game which drives a strong message of how our over-connected society is evolving, and how we can help other players. Unlike many AAA games, it shines on a truly spiritual level. Well written, engaging and visually magnificent, it offers, despite some pacing flaws, an astonishing solo game with elegant multiplayer elements. A unique representation of Hideo Kojima’s talent.
