    I've been excited for this game since it's reveal and I'm genuinely having a fantastic time! It isn't for everyone unfortunately but it's extremely polished with 0 bugs so far. The 0 score reviews are trolls please ignore them.

    Id give it about a 7 but picked 10 because of the idiots review bombing it at Zero. Its not bad but not great. If you like the gameplay loop of Elite Dangerous, Euro Truck Sim or just wouldnt mind a decent sci fi story it is pretty solid. Dont expect an action game though. It is pretty sick seeing the community come together and how it incorporates semi synchronus online. Really reallyId give it about a 7 but picked 10 because of the idiots review bombing it at Zero.     I have just earned the platinum trophy in this game at hard difficulty. And I have enjoyed every single moment of it. Even though the game is hilarioustly easy, even on hard difficulty. And that's why this game doesn't earn the last digit on my part.

    First off the game started off, gripping me with it's intriguing story, game mechanics, graphics and envirornment. As I progressed through    I have just earned the platinum trophy in this game at hard difficulty. And I have enjoyed every single moment of it. Even though the game is hilarioustly easy, even on hard difficulty. And that's why this game doesn't earn the last digit on my part.

    First off the game started off, gripping me with it's intriguing story, game mechanics, graphics and envirornment. As I progressed through the game I found the game being easier and easier. But it didn't really bother me because creating structures, bridges and roads and so forth is incredibely rewarding, atleast for me. Knowing that people are going to use it at some point. Depending on where you places it and so forth. And yes, I found it very gratifying to have the game message me about someone using my structure. The combat mechanics are dull and very straight forward, but again. Just raiding a bad guy encampment and steal their trucks was something I never grew tired off. But also making it easier for yourself making those sweet, sweet premium deliveries.

    As far as the story is concerned. It is a Hideo Kojima game. So being a huge MGS fan I dove into the story expecting it too be confusing and very complex. And it is. But I found every majoy plot thread to come to a satisfying conclussion nearing the end. Some of the characters I thought could be a little more developed and explored. But other than that I was satisfied.

    Also my hat off to Kojima for trying something different. Because Death Stranding is very very different than anything else I've played ever. And for me, this game different route works. I really enjoyed exploring this world and everything it had to offer. The take on death, multiverse theories, and history as we know it, I found very interesting, and only something that could come out of the mind of the man himself, Kojima. I could see how people didn't like this game, but I personally found it engaging and fun, despite the easy mechanics and conveluted story.

    But to sum it up, I would recommend this game to anyone eager to try something new, to try something you might find boring at first, as I did. Give it some hours and I can almost guarantee that you'll find this game entertaining in some way. I'm really looking forward to see what the passionate mind of Kojima comes up with next.    … Expand

    Kojima destroys the current game concept with this masterpiece. Articulated plot and excellent gameplay (for those who appreciate it) are the strong points of the game.
    Unfortunately it is not a game that everyone can understand, but you really need to play it. I am very sad because many people put negative reviews without even having played, but only because "it's cool".

    In today’s day an age where everyone is shifting to live service and being Far Cry clones it’s really nice to see a game with no micro transactions and that is trying something different.
    Maybe not for everyone but if you enjoy a slow pace very thought provoking story and some relaxing gameplay with a beautiful soundtrack and amazing graphical detail then this may be a game    No Spoilers.

    I’ll start by saying this.... If you love movies and games, Death Stranding is for you. It seems that the battle royale and FPS have really dragged down the expectations of what makes a good game. Seems too much impatience to be able to delve into an immersive game. To take breaks and enjoy the art. Enjoying a masterpiece story. The underlying message. Death Stranding does just that. ItI’ll start by saying this....     This game leaves u mesmerized how big and beautiful and a lot of of exploring,I'm sure there's some secrets I've missed I'm going to take my time on second playthrough.. seriously if u love art and a powerful message in games that will stay with u forever give it a shot it does not get really good until after about 10hrs when it opens up, also the music and atmosphere is so perfect gets u hyped like watching a good movie ,I don't need all my games to be hack and slash and shooting there are plenty of those out there .

All the dumb people who think this game is bad inpatient people who have only played 1hour story’s are supposed to build but it’s whatever do this game breaking records world so kojima is just flexing on u simple minded people who think a game like nba2k or madden nfl a masterpiece ever time it comes out

    I do not recommend a child aged 13-15, because the game requires a mature player.

Sure but Kojima ascended Mount Olympus a looooong time ago, he has earned the right to be as indulgent asThough the game isn't for everybody it's also clear many are out to "get" Kojima and knock him off his high horse. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, not all opinions are equal. Quantifying the perspective of where one is coming from is important. A list of the games I've bought and completed this year:

    KH3 (plat trophy), RE2, DMCV, Sekiro (plat trophy), Days Gone (plat trophy), Rage 2, Metro Exodus, Bloodstained, CTR (one trophy away from plat), The Messenger (plat trophy), Wolfenstein,: Youngblood, Control (plat trophy), Remnant From the Ashes, Borderlands 3, Children of Morta (one trophy away from plat).

    Above are the games I've completed but there are others I've yet to finish (Blasphemous, Yooka Laylee just to name a couple). Up until now Sekiro was at the absolute top of my GOTY shortlist, it's quite simply another FROM masterpiece. I'm currently about 20 hours into DS and - though I'll reserve my final verdict until after I've finished it - I'm quite confident saying it will be my GOTY, I've never played anything like it.

    DS is mesmerizing, methodical and brilliant. Every element from the breathtaking landscapes, OST, cinematics, traversal and unique gameplay systems underpinning the fascinating narrative is really something special. Nevermind the ingenious multiplayer integration, it takes ideas from Souls and creates something on an entirely new level, dare I say it, a new *genre*. The fact is nobody *but* Kojima could make something like this and the gaming industry should thank it's lucky stars he's creating in the medium we love and cherish so much. Cookie cutter games are a dime a dozen, let's celebrate originality and bold vision, I don't expect everyone to love it but I'd hope respect is given where it's due.    … Expand

    Ignore the review bombing, the game play is not just a walking simulator, People were willing to praise Red Dead despite most fo the time spent in game was just riding on your horse to locations. I'm not a Kojima fan boy I've only ever played Metal Gear 5 and I'm still able to love this game.     I was extremely hyped for this game from the first live E3 trailer, and i can easily say, that it lived up to its expectations, and brought even more. For me, this game is an absolute masterpiece and a piece of art. I can see why this is the game that mister Kojima always wanted to make. You can really feel the love and passion that they put in this beautiful game.     Greatest game of this year. Absolute gem. Graphics and the atmosphere is something unreal. Gameplay itself isnt clearly for everybody, but for me it's perfect. Story so far (about 6hours in) has been great too!

It’s a story rich, immersive, low action game. The plot is very unique and the characters are very well developed.     Куча жалоб что непонятно то, непонятно это. Как только показывают к примеру хиральный дождь в самом начале игры, сразу становится понятно что это. Кто такие ДУМы, зачем нужны ББ. Кодзима просто пережевывает для особенных это все за секунды после сказанного.

    Building structures to help people, gathering materials with the help of other players to build roads, level up structures, made me feel like I wasn't alone at all in the vast and detailed world of Death Stranding.
    When I finished the game, still playing and having a 100+ hours playtime, I was left very intrigued and wanting to know more about the characters and the incredible world of this masterpiece.

I can see how some may not find this game enjoyable if you like action heavy games or games with little story and hate cutscenes. Cutscenes can be long but I have enjoyed every minute of them. My only criticism so far is that the Interface can be a bit clunky and overwhelming but once you get used to it it’s not so bad. If you like kojima games or looking for a unique game to play with a great story this is for you . If you only play games like Apex or COD you will probably hate this.… Expand

After the first few hours you will spend far less time on your feet and mostly behind the wheel of a vehicle.

    If you come into this game looking for something fasted paced and need that to stay motivated to play, you're probably not going to have fun. If you're a bit more strategic minded and don't mind a 3rd person shooter, a walking simulator, and everything in between you will like it. Personally the gameplay gave me the vibes I got from The Last of US, another game I loved. They both transcend simple game play and blur the lines between cinema and video games.    … Expand

    However, if you are a mature and open-minded gamer who enjoys good music and narrative, a beautiful world, and are patient to learn a new style of gameplay, you will be rewarded.

    There are no words for the emotions and feelings I had after a long and arduous climb up a mountain full of invisible BTs, carrying 100kg of important goods, when Silent Poets' "Asylums for the Feelings" started playing on my descent.

    Now what about the gameplay you asked? Thats like the most important thing isnt it? Well i can tell you that gameplay is slow paced but great. Its mix of walking sim., exploration game, action game, stealth game and survival game with deep gameplay mechanics. You will also get some vehicles to use so its not only about walking (so basically its more game than you average looter shooter or run and gun game because DS has far more game mechanics).
    BUT what about the biggest mystery related to this game? Why is there such a huge number of trolls? Well some notes from my observation. Almost right after the game was released and people were allowed to start writing reviews the huge review hate bombing happened. And to this days hundreds over hundreds generic troll "reviews" are posted every day. And not only that but theres also troll mob patrolling around literally marking every positive review as unhelpful. Whos behind this i dont know but iam going to tell you that its not only extremely pathetic to hate a game you have never even played (which is something many of the trolls even admitted) and its not only toxic against Kojimas team but whats even worse its really damaging whole game industry and only giving cards to the hands of those greedy companies who dont want to take any risk with new singleplayer games but only push more generic online trash with microtransactions and greedy money baiting mechanics (every year the same).
    So if you played the game for few hours (at least like 12) and you dont like it fine you have all rights to give it 0/10 (tho its still overreaction) but if you dont own the game and you only follow some hate train, consider this trolling funny or someone told you to do this... then shame on you... you only damaging gaming community.    … Expand

    DS is overwhelming in every aspect, from its story to its gameplay, starting with the story, Kojima is a genius in terms of setting a world and making statements or even predictions of our own reality, here in Death Stranding he took it to the next level, when people talk about how MGS is a complex story is because DS hasn't appeared yet, it really overwhelms you with its lore and at times it can be difficult to keep up with all the terminology it uses in its story, I don't want to speak a lot of it because the less you know about it the better, also, I wasn't thrilled with the inclusion of "Hollywood" actors but they surely pay off in a lot of scenes, specially Tommi Earl Jenkins, one of his scenes gave me goosebumps to the next level, it also made my eyes tears a little, they're that good.

    The divisive part may be the gameplay, a lot of people said that this is a walking simulator and that may be true at some extent, but is not that simple, the core mechanic to me is that the player goes against the terrain, weather and some hazards, the hazards come as human enemies or BTs (the black beings), but mostly the terrain. In order to progress you need to adjust your inventory and decide what kind of things are you going to take with you, then, depending on how heavy or light is your character, your movement can be from cartoony clumsy to fast as a soccer player, after that you take delivery items from "A" to "B" and repeat till the end of the game, in theory it might sound boring but in practice is really addictive, and once you get to chapter 3 where you get a lot of new items and structures to help you in your journey you'll have a blast. I can't compare DS to any other game but to me, it has a Monster Hunter vibe, where the learning curves are stiff and overwhelming, but once you passed them you'll have an amazing time.

    The multiplayer aspect is also incredible, instead of having a competitive experience this is a connection or strand experience where you and your fellow players didn't see each other or play with them directly but help each other with structures or items you construct, i.e. If you set a bridge to cross a river, other players in your server can use it too and also can upgrade it together, this aspect really hit me in a good way, to the point that I even gave away things to my neighborhood in order for everyone to use them. But not everything is perfect with this system, it can at times broke the experience, for example, at least two times I was told that my next delivery would be incredibly hard but, when doing it, I find a lot of things like bridges, power stations or vehicles that made the mission so easy, so it can break the immersion.

    As for the negative things, I can see how for someone this can be boring, but one needs to keep in mind that this is not a shooter or a stealth game, but at the end it can feel repetitive and at times cheaty, as for the stealth part, I didn't feel it worked that good with the human enemies, the AI is dumb but the mechanics also felt unrefined at times, a similar thing happens to the "other" stealth mode with the BTs, they give you a lot of tension but once you understand how they work, they're for the rest of the game annoying, speaking of BTs the boss fights with this beings are so cool, flashy and epic but they are also broken and easy, it feels that you can't die from them because the game throws a lot of resources like HP or ammo in order for you to don't run out of them, they're also very fun tho' so it depends on your view I guess. My last and maybe more important issue to me is its world, it can felt empty to the point that it feels unfinished, you'll find a lot of people but they're holograms, for the most part, humanity is hidden in the ground and narratively it makes sense but I can't shake the feeling that is more a budget issue than a story issue, also because exploring is dangerous and also unrewarding, you'll find yourself making the same trajectories or following another player's trail to get to your destination.

    Certainly Death Stranding is not a masterpiece for me, but I can easily see why it is for another person, for me it was a great time, and every day it passes it makes me think a lot in its themes, characters and my personal narrative with it, I also hardly believe that the passing on time will give its rightful place as a great game.    … Expand

    Even though I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of this game I can see where some complaints can ring true. The opening chapters of the game are a little slow because you haven't gotten far enough to unlock most of the games advanced mechanics and going by the trophy statistics that's where most of the negative reviews stem from, which leads me to my final point.

    If you're not the type of person that can sit down and complete a game, which statistically is the majority of gamers, this title will fall flat for you. Its a complete experience that really needs to be completed to truly appreciate.

    I truly hope that if you read this review and are thinking about purchasing the game that you do so with the intention of giving it your full attention and completing the story. If you can do that, it will be an amazing experience.    … Expand

This game is not for everyone, but it is absolutely perfect for the more inquisitive and thoughtful sort of people. The closest comparison I could draw is to something like "The Leftovers".     The game is a new bold and inventive experience that is captivating and beautiful. The story is intriguing, crazy, and new. The delivery mechanics are slow but weirdly addicting/relaxing. Some criticism i can give is the combat being too repetitive and clunky. The team should've at least given more animations too the punching and kicking. The gameplay loop consists of making deliveries across america in order to reconnect its fragmented and isolated population by putting them on a network which gives them access to advanced 3d printing tools and cemtralised support. Often each of the new additions to the network bring a unique skill to help you on your quest whether it be a new weapon, an exo suit or weather prediciting capabilities. The reward for what on the surface level seems like a game comprised of fetch quests is slower than most modern games in rewarding you yet far more impactful. There are no dopmaine inducing lughts and noises or a level bar with xp, instead you see the gradual rebuilding of an empty and broken country. The first time i drove through an old area my breath was taken away when i seen it was now full of immaculate roads levitating above the ground, twisting a turning through the harsh and rugged terrain id fought my way through hours before. Seeing ypur actions trully impacting the game world delivers an experience unlike any other.

    The hate revolving around death stranding is really from a generation whos used to instant rewards and more tangiable rewards and storys. These are the same people who would criticise 2001 a space odyssey because its not like terminator 2. If you can handle abstract concepts, a slower more hard earned reward and something different than the typical staples of this generation genres then youll find deaths tranding to be the most innovative game of the generation.    … Expand

    One of the best games I’ve ever played. It’s a very unique concept and story, executed perfectly. I had a ton of fun in my play through and I plan on coming back to finish some extras and trophies

    Days into the game. It‘s about a journey. Wonderful story, beautiful landscapes and working gameplay. No bugs so far, no microtransactions and a clever online component. I love it

    Death Stranding is creating a new game genre and therefore paves its own path towards more interactive experiences. It is a brave work thanks to its novelty, which fortunately is not a bragging right for its creators, as it may have seemed, but an exceptional title that will reward the brave who play it.     This game does manage to be fun, even if it is one of the heaviest experiences of 2019. Everything from story to gameplay is begging to be dissected, filled with imagery and symbolism -- just like so many Kojima games before this one. Entering Death Stranding, it’s likely that we all thought Kojima’s calling card was lengthy cutscenes and stealth and action gameplay.

    Death Stranding stands as a powerful author’s game which drives a strong message of how our over-connected society is evolving, and how we can help other players. Unlike many AAA games, it shines on a truly spiritual level. Well written, engaging and visually magnificent, it offers, despite some pacing flaws, an astonishing solo game with elegant multiplayer elements. A unique representation of Hideo Kojima’s talent.
