    Game with big G. Amazing world with beautiful graphic. Perfect performace on ps4. Everything is smooth. This game is not only about delivering. Is there fighting, creating, driving. There is only one (-) quite silly story. I like this idea but story is too much crazy let say silly.

    at first i found this game boring with all the deliveries to make, to go from point A to point B rince and repeat.
    But after finishing the game, i get why the progression had to be this way. I'm on my 2nd playthrough and this game possibilities becomes more and more infinite.
    This game is awesome, what i was expecting from the Metal Gear Saga creator.

    Just as many games do not need a complex plot, DS does not need much action to be a special game .... I love the world created by Hideo and I think it is already a memorable work.

    Hideo has done it again. The MGS series showed the potential of storytelling in video games. Death Stranding shows that video games can be more than a mindless shoot’em up.

    This is the best game I have played this generation. Yes, it starts slow and has plenty of cut scenes. If you play it through it will win you over. If you are on the fence about it. Rent it and give it a shot.

    After 100hours in I can safely say this game is great. The ending was cool, it gave more answers than I thought it would.

    The core story itself isn't very special. But the world we get to play in and how it handles supernatual, felt new and entertainig.     Yes you'll be hauling stuff all around the map. But planning your hauls and rebuliding the infrastructure, creating paths for you and others is awesome! I don't like Kojima and I wanted to hate this game, but in fact it worths every penny.

    Indeed you have to get through the first 5hours to really get things going. It's a lot. But until the very end it'll be a game and not a movie like others stated.

    TBH most games you get to play today are repetitive, and delivering things from A to B over hard terrain is refreshing compared to murdering braindead badguys at point A or B.

    -2 points for invisible walls and the few and bad fashion elements.    … Expand

    Incredible, the game I've been waiting my whole life for. I was a big fan of the original metal gear games on PS1, but never played MGS4 and never got into MGS5. This is the first open world game I have ever completed and trust me, I have tryed many others, and also worked for one of the largest game studio that produces some of the most popular open world games on the market. The story kept me in it, BTs, the ghost like entities that pervade the world, are a good kind of scary and I really enjoyed encounters with them. The boss battles were unreal, and oh so satisfying and the acting and story was just so great, also your little BB (baby you carry around in a pod), is probably the greatest video game character ever created, I was so invested in his safety right from the first moment I got him! The game has to be played to be fully appreciated, and this is from someone who really dislikes open world games! I don't know how anyone couldn't love this masterpiece, and that's what it is, a masterpiece. sand the relentless push towards games where the key mechanic is combat, has never really been my thing.… Expand

    I love the world that Kojima has created here. As I have in his previous games. The acting and story so far is great. I know this game is not for everyone. And I feel that so many of the negative reviews come from those who have not played a Kojima game before. As long cut scenes and weird story is a standard for him.     A relaxing, fun game with an interesting story. Kudos to Kojima for trying different things out. The online aspect of the game where you leave likes and get likes builds up a positive community and makes you want to help not just yourself but others.

    I'm not a fan of Metal Gear Solid but this game is absolutely phenomenal from all sides. This can't be described, this has to be played.

    Its not your typical game where you feel instant gratification for just pushing the buttons in the right order. It can be boring, it can be tedious. But a mew type of videogame experience, and in my opinion, similar to watching an indi movie, or reading a good book. Hard to argue with the split reviews, you will either like it or you wont. And watching it is a good way to tell.

    The studio was formed 3 years ago. And in less time that many other fully formed studios, this company has put out a AAA title that has a way of playing not seen anywhere else. Ignore the Kojima cult, but also ignore the haters. Make up your own mind. I loved it. Hope you try it.    … Expand

It's all about building connections and how difficult it is. The gameplay makes you feel how epic and difficult is the journey. It's not about killing/defeating the bad guys, it's a man vs nature game in a post apocaliptic world. The story is filled with details, you can't miss a dialog and you have to put a lot of attention to the meaning of each word, like for example the characters last names

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I finished the game twice and on my third playthrough now. I love these type of games. Breath of the wild , journey , abzu, shadow of the colossus, etc.. the type with long expanses that allows you to soak the world in and get really immersed in it and not blaze through it . If you only play the first few chapters then yes it may seem like it's a walking simulator but if you play through you will see other modes of transport like motorcycles, trucks, fast travel , ziplines, etc. You also have a lot of weapons choices as well the further Into the story you get and at the end the last chapter is free roam to continue and finish getting rest of the trophies . It's funny how many say great graphics but boring gameplay and still give the game a 0 that tells me they only got in here to review bomb a great game and didn't buy the game themselves this game is definitely not a 0. Yes it's definitely different and not for everyone . If you like the games I mentioned above there is a great chance you will like this game . If you're on the fence go to redbox rent it play it to at least chapter 4 then make your decision if this is the game for you and don't listen to those who came on here just to give it a 0. The ending is worth it. 10 graphics

    The game is by no means a perfect game, in terms of combat in game its laughably easy to knockout a whole MULE camp and steal their gear, also battling BT's feels a bit meaningless since they will comeback if you leave the area even for a fraction of a second or wander a bit too far forcing you to just use stealth in the first place.

    That being said, I've been loving every single second of the game, in the beginning without having a proper way to defend yourself from the BT's each encounter is a nerve wracking experience as you try to navigate through enemies you cannot see. The environment is beautifully done, I see many people comparing it to breath of the wild and saying it is empty in comparison. Yes only a few areas on the map have settlements, however this does not mean its empty and meaningless, every part on the map is designed to challenge the user in some way, either by crossing through rivers, rough terrain, or BT or MULE infested terrain. I have by no means finished the game or even close to it, however in the time I have been playing I am constantly surprised by the different mechanics implemented into the game.

    The graphics in the game are beautiful, the motion capture for Norman Reedus is so good it makes you feel weird when he does dumb things in the mirror. the level of detail for it is such that I managed to wrap a cord around a structure at exactly a point I wanted and the thread bent in the exact way it would do in real life. In short this is not a "scary metal gear" this is a completely new game, see a review video on youtube and go in with the correct expectations and you will not be disappointed. if however you are looking for a shooter game, please refer to Gears of War or Call of Duty which should suit your needs perfectly.    … Expand

    Esse é um dos jogos que só quem jogar saberá o quão ele foi bom.

    esto demuestra que hasta los genios necesitan algo de diciplina es un juego con potencial para 10 pero el gameplay no recibio el cariño que tuvo la creacion del mundo y la narrativa. talvez con alguen que le dijiera que hacer a Kojima hubieramos tenido ambos pero aun asi recomiendo mucho el juego para quienes tengan la paciencia necesaria para jugarlo

    At first it was very overwhelming, but after a few missions it all began to make sense, totally addictive.
    I think Hideo Kojima has to be praised for doing something totally different, I can understand though that some will not get on with it at all. I think it’s amazing once I was past the first few hours.

    As a game it’s Marmite Some will love it Some will hate it

Anyways, I really liked this game because it detaches me from the real world and puts me in an adventure that I love being a part of. Here's my summary of good and bad points (I've only played like 4-5 hours in total so far)

    Good:
    - Great graphics on the PS4 pro with beautiful landscapes. I love walking around and exploring the post apocalyptic world, traversing rivers, rocky mountains etc.

    - Great cutscenes, feels like being a part of a Hollywood movie. Like a mixture of Lost, Stranger Things, Black Mirror.

    - Lack of action and pacifism was appealing to me. I have no rush and I see this as a relaxing experience as if I'm actually exploring a new world trekking around. This really might be a new genre and it has tons of potential for improvement.

    Bad:
    - The technology of the world seems to be too advanced for sending deliverymen around on foot. This feels weird. Could be better if the survivors weren't this "clean" and plastic. I like the world presented in the movies "The Road" and "Book of Eli" when it comes to post apocalyptic environments.

    - Could have been better if there was vehicle physics and gameplay like Spintires.

    - The async multiplayer feels weird. Makes the game easier but funnier. Might be better if you play it totally offline, giving you more isolation and realism of being alone in the environment.    … Expand

    Beautiful open world that evolves on a community basis. Great soundtrack, graphics. Great storytelling and acting. Addictive gameplay loop with a lot of intertwined systems challenging your execution at all times. It’s different though. And it will not please everyone. But personally I love it!

The graphics is breath taking and although the game is filled with cut scenes I couldn’t see the game playing in any other way considering how immersive, new and confusing the story is it needs cut scenes to explain it and help the player get a gist of it atleast. Yes this game is a walking simulator but it’s also so much more than that. I can say in these 16 ish hours I’ve already felt so many emotions towards the game it’s unbelievable. I don’t want to say much because it’s a game that can’t be explained it needs to be played but I just want people to know if you like to chill out and ain’t afraid of something new please try this game. The only reason I’m not giving it a 10/10 is because it isn’t no red dead redemption or the last of us it’s a new genre that is exciting and has hopefully built a new image for future games coming.… Expand

If you're into game that involves lots of walking traversing, micromanaging your equipment, games more story derivative then you will like this game.     Personally I play games not so much, and I try to avoid open world games, because they take so much time to travel. Death Stranding is very addictive. I’ve been thinking, why map in this game is different. For example in Horizon, or GTA V, or RDR2 you can walk or ride in any direction almost freely (often the only obstacles are enemies). When I need to get from A to B, I must think my route: should I go between rocky field, or by the river, or should I find materials and finish road construction? And if I choose the last option — I need to find materials at enemy camp. Not to mention the relief, when you find bridge above the cliff running from mules, which was left there by another player. There is no easy solution — you constantly need to think what way to choose next time. I don’t mean that game is difficult to play, but it keeps you involved with every new order, and I appreciate so much.… Expand

    I agree with Tim Rogers. This masterpiece is the Grand Turismo of walking simulators. It's also a construction game though. The gameplay is much more literally about rebuilding a fractured society amidst a global cataclysm than I'd realized before launch. The game mechanics and progression system are perfectly balanced. Everything just works exactly as how I would expect it to. It'sI agree with Tim Rogers. This masterpiece is the Grand Turismo of walking simulators. It's also a construction game though. Once user reviews for the game on Metacritic opened up, they took the*sigh* Another year, another reviewbomb. A war erupted in comment sections all across the internet, with each side refusing to back down. Once user reviews for the game on Metacritic opened up, they took the war here, dropping thousands of 0's and 10's in a desperate bid at getting some kind of validation for their childish behavior.

    This isn't an uncommon sight. It happens more often than you'd think, and is just yet another sign that real criticism is no longer valued, and that the majority of gamers are simply narcissistic bastards who refuse to accept the fact that someone else might have a different opinion than them.

    I can only hope that whoever is currently reading this has a better head on their shoulders.

    But what about the game, Death Stranding, then? Is it actually any good? Or is it the vile piece of crap that some claim it is?

    Well, in my opinion, Death Stranding is the single best video game I've played in 2019, and a breath of fresh air in an industry oversaturated by dull Hollywood action games, battle royale games and FPS games. It's a video game that dares to try something different, that dares to make you, the player, FEEL something apart from just the simple emotion of being vaguely entertained. But leave it up to the gaming community to mindlessly **** on anything that doesn't contain their beloved "instant-gratification-loop".

    But I'm not going to sit here and rail on and on about why I love this game so much. Chances are, you've probably made up your mind by now on whether or not you are interested in this. If you ultimately do decide to buy it, I can't guarantee that it's something you are going to enjoy. You might end up hating it, in fact. Just know that: to me, it was an amazing experience, and one that I'm very unlikely to forget any time soon.    … Expand

    The plot is just super, like the music with the atmosphere, Death standing aids in tension and does not let go even after the final credits.

    It has a great story, beautiful world and the gameplay works correctly. It is what it is. Sometimes it gets boring to travel on foot and sometimes its exactly the opposite.

    As I said earlier this game was full of high expectations and many people will upset. For me, this game is beautiful in all respects. Gameplay mechanics, graphics, world, and the Story everything are beautiful. Already played 40h and even did not finish half of the game.

    I am addicted to this game. The simple act of making a delivery, incredibly does not make the game nauseating, but very fun and challenging. You're so sleepy from playing, the game throws you in the face, making you keep playing nonstop. Wonderful game, the best of the year for me.

A game that makes you consider every single step you take, causes you to be economical when deciding what to carry (no bottomless bags of potions here), and will have you literally holding your breath at times.     Absolutely gorgeous environments, great voice acting, and the character models don't fall into the uncanny valley at all. Some great talent in this game, too. I'm not a Walking Dead fan, personally, but Norman Reedus really does make the perfect Sam Bridges.

The travel is immersive and it feels real, it feels likeTo resume it all: is not for everyone. Give it a chance if you like open world games, interesting stories, and slow pace. I encourage to play with an internet connection, because is with these connections that you made with others that the game is great at.     It has a slow start, and in this start the game does not show all of its cards. Like Kojima says, it takes time to really enjoy the game (though I liked it from the start). It is not a shooter, but it has action parts. The best ones are the ones involving the rain or the EV.

    Yeah, it has weird parts, sometimes you would find yourself preparing and not doing anything, but for the most part is a great game. For me, it is a masterpiece, but I understand that for a lot, it would be plain boring. Again, opinions.

    As I said, it is not for everyone, but a lot of people will enjoy. Do not hate those who didn't like, and those who didn't like it, don't hate those who did like. This war is just stupid, let people enjoy things. Opinions and hate are different things, and this game does not deserve as much hate as its getting.    … Expand

    It’s so refreshing to play something different than the usual AAA. Beautifully crafted game with incredible music, acting and story. Boring gun gameplay, but the fighting just feels like it’s not meant to be part of the core gameplay. Enjoy it at face value and don’t go in with too many expectations, just let yourself get immersed in this new and different game universe.

    Extremely beautiful graphics, the best one I've seen so far, the gameplay is incredibly unique, the story is one of the best I've seen too, it's a strategy/action/stealth/adventure... It's a mix of everything! I really can't write how amazing, massive and how good the community that plays this game is

    I think it's a great game that is certainly worth the time. Sure it's a bit slow to start, but it offers many things that typical games do not now a=days. Most people reviewing it seems like they haven't gotten to Chapter 3 when it opens up. This is much more of a slow burn game and you can't just wildly rush things like many of today's gamers do.

    One of the most incredible games I have ever played. It transcends genres with an incredible story. Meditative at times. Some people will despise this game, but Kojima has triumphed again.

It is a brave work thanks to its novelty, which fortunately is not a bragging right for its creators, as it may have seemed, but an exceptional title that will reward the brave who play it.     This game does manage to be fun, even if it is one of the heaviest experiences of 2019. Everything from story to gameplay is begging to be dissected, filled with imagery and symbolism -- just like so many Kojima games before this one. Entering Death Stranding, it’s likely that we all thought Kojima’s calling card was lengthy cutscenes and stealth and action gameplay.

    Death Stranding stands as a powerful author’s game which drives a strong message of how our over-connected society is evolving, and how we can help other players. Unlike many AAA games, it shines on a truly spiritual level. Well written, engaging and visually magnificent, it offers, despite some pacing flaws, an astonishing solo game with elegant multiplayer elements. A unique representation of Hideo Kojima’s talent.
