    Maybe it’s me but I deadset don’t understand why so many people are not fans of the game.

    It’s cinematically beautiful, has an incredibly immersive storyline and is quintessentially Kojima!

    Buying Death Stranding was a risk. I’m not one for massive open-world games, I didn’t know what the hell the game was about, and the early divisive reviews made me even more unsure. And yet, the further I got into the game, I realised I was playing something in a way that I’m not sure I’ll ever experience again. The online system is fantastic, the world is photo-realistic and absolutelyBuying Death Stranding was a risk. I’m not one for massive open-world games, I didn’t know what the hell the game was about, and the early divisive reviews made me even more unsure. And yet, the further I got into the game, I realised I was playing something in a way that I’m not sure I’ll ever experience again. The online system is fantastic, the world is photo-realistic and absolutely beautiful (the game reaches its peak visually when you’re up in the snowy mountains), the BT encounters are consistently tense, and as weird as it sounds, the walking is the best part about it. There are cutscenes aplenty to wade through with varying degrees of success (the late game cutscenes, while interesting, are a chore to finish), but you should come to Death Stranding for a wholly satisfying gaming experience that needs to be played to be believed, filled to the brim with a colourful cast of characters (and cameos aplenty from the film world to look out for!) and scenery to die for.… Expand

    I’ve played 11 hours so far and I can say without a doubt this is the most unique gaming experience ever. The story is amazing. And the delivery gameplay is fun especially when you enter a MULE camp and slap all of them up with their own cargo you stole from them. I’m in love!

    Es el manso videogeim, me pongo de pie para aplaudir lo que colloma ha hecho con este juego, se ve bakan. Me derrito de solo pensar en jugarlo pronto.

    The game gives a completely new and incredible experience. Also pleases attention to detail. Designed landscapes, character animation, detail of the world, gameplay. Love the atmosphere and cinematic insertions. Hideo Kojima once again proved to the world that he is a genius!

    I am really enjoying this game, I would rate it maybe a 7 or 8 at most, but as it has suffered Review bombing from haters, I tought I must support the game in this way.

    This game plays to our intrinsic desire to live as social animal and help others even if we get nothing but meaningless "likes" in return. The fun part of the game isn't the delivery, it is to contribute to a common goal with the online community even though you will never meet them. A very political game that reflects the state of our society without referencing anything specific.     I love this game, it is relaxing, I can play it with my daughter and the cinematics are really good. The environments are pleasing. It proof that we can still make different genre of games !

    I am 20 hours into this game and liking it so far. I have played the first 4 metal gear solid titles and for me, this game has to be funner than Metal Gear Solid 4 which I consider a low point in the series. Death Stranding keeps the bizarre art direction from MGS4 but does not knock you down with it, nor has oddly annoying enemies like MGS4.

    I feel the art direction and design is    I am 20 hours into this game and liking it so far. I have played the first 4 metal gear solid titles and for me, this game has to be funner than Metal Gear Solid 4 which I consider a low point in the series. Death Stranding keeps the bizarre art direction from MGS4 but does not knock you down with it, nor has oddly annoying enemies like MGS4.

    I feel the art direction and design is more focused here in Death Stranding. Themes of death, pollution of the environment, crude oil, and gender roles are here, and expressed in ways that make you think. Also apparently the theme of loneliness is supposed to be here. Or maybe male loneliness and disconnection which is the life experience so far for the protagonist. Speaking of, the acting is very good here, especially Norman Reedus, Mads Mikkelsen, and Léa Seydoux. Some of the supporting acting is good too, notably Margaret Qualley.

    I feel I have to address some of the negative reviewing here as it pertains to the game and those who consume games. Writing a negative review saying you were bored or put off is one thing. However, those that are swarm down-voting the positive reviews alludes to the fact that this game indeed evokes a passionate response for better or worse (and that’s a testament to its quality). I admit I didn’t watch a lot of the trailers but at least one trailer made this game look more action-packed than it is.

    However, more likely the negative reviewing is an extension of “gamergate” and there are sub-hints in the game why this might be. For one, how Norman Reedus is portrayed is almost sexually objectified. There are a lot of scenes of him near-nude and in positions which accentuate the contours of his body. Also the fact that he cares for a baby and actively enjoys it in the game likely makes him appealing for women. Also the fact that there few women characters that are scantily-clad in this game. Gone are characters like “Quiet” from MGS5. However, I think Lea Seydoux is extremely attractive and does not need to constantly show skin to see it.

    So-called “man-babies” who like bullets, explosions, and objectified women are likely a large base of the negative reviewers and swarm-down voters of the positive reviews. I don’t think its actually going to shout down those including myself who are enjoying this game.    … Expand

While I think most who experience the story in full would be quite moved by it, it is unlikely that those who cannot bear the monotonous gameplay will see it through. The themes of loneliness together with the importance of cooperation make a well balanced experience in guiding Sam through his grueling journey in this post apocalyptic America. This game, as with all of Kojima's games, serve as a message, or warning, as well as a dramatic cinematic piece. At times you will feel serenity as you reach the peak of a snowy mountain, at others you will be bored, and just wishing you're at your destination already while stumbling over jagged rocks. It is a very subjective experience in terms of whether you are willing to endure the hardships in front of you.… Expand

    Personally I am really enjoying Death Stranding. I do understand that it is not to everybody's style, however the ability to help other people out who you do not even meet appeals to me. The story is well told and has a fantastic cast of actors in it.

    I am getting addicted to this game. This game is niche. VERY niche. It's simply an indy game with AAA development quality. If you like games like Splintires, Flight Simulator, Vanishing of Ethan Carter, Observation then this is for you. One reviewer describe this game as The Granturismo of Walking Simulator.Which is quite accurate.

    This is a meditative and tactical game that requires perseverance and time, but it will pay you satisfied gameplay, visual attractive design and great philosophical story. Kojima is genius.

From story to fidelity, to perfectly placed idiosyncrasy, it's an impeccable swaft to canvas, in realization closest to singularity any artist has achieved. Call it pompous. Call it too much. Or rather, just be confused, and allow that to ply ignorance. But this is what you've been waiting to experience. Like it or not. Grind it or rave in ecstasy. This is the bar. Gamers need to take the voyage. And it is completely relevant, encompassing a surreal story underpinning the philosophical war and moralistic aftermath which have crumbled an American empire, before it, itself, has realized. But that same sort of role-avoidance aside, politics is not its aim or foci. That is just another small piece of the greater tapestry, one in design of the most mind-bending proportions. This is high-art, gamified, and to a rather stupefying degree. Save the inclusion of more cumbersome yet dead-space like combat (not the dismemberment but the non-combatant thrust into combat kind of feel), this game is eye-crossing, twitch-inducing, amazement. All and every slight of combat unto survival and vocational ability, works tremendously to imbibe tone. Combat, even, does grow and develop within throughout it's arc, making for heroic flourishes of excitement and much waited retribution. In a very strong way, it is homage by Kojima-kun, to Botw player vs environment motif and xbcx's post-modern apocalyptic meta-sentience, double annihilation plot line. Simply, it is opus. The player and environment are inextricably at odds and woven into feedback loop, seamlessly, organic and exhilarating. Stop being insecure, or intimidated and thrust yourself at the challenge. Be wowed, and woahed, and take in the orgasmic discombobulation of your soul. There is really only one impression of this game, and that is, "awe." As, well, ign, you have lost all credibility, of which, you should have been allowed none, for a long, long while. Thank you Kojima. And in simplest terms, humbly, I say, "good job, real good job."     Game vicia. Você não quer parar de jogar até desvendar toda a história e sabe quando você vai conseguir isso? Só no final do game você consegue entender sem entender ao mesmo tempo, isso mesmo. Jogo é incrível.
    Jogo peca em alguns detalhes, principal na física.

    I do not do this kind of thing usually and my English might not be the best.

    But this game is breathtaking, I have not played an open world like this ever in my life, and lord knows I love open world games, but this one is just unique. I am no game designer so I'll try to make this to best of my capacity.     The in game mechanics are brilliant and most are quite original, the fact that walking up a mountain with 100kg of cargo is challenging is a facet of open world I had never seen.
    The mechanics with the Bts are fabulous and incredibly entertaining, the smules I have not gotten to try them out too much because they can indeed be quite challenging. The shooting and fighting is exactly what you can expect from a kojima led game.

    The sound design of the game is fabulous, I got nothing more or less to say about it.

    The story is brilliant, and the end is one of the most rewarding ending scenes I have ever had in any game out there, I have not been gaming for too long but 20 years I have been playing games since I found my fathers Sega and was playing the Macdonald platform games, and to be fair from that day up to now I have never ever jumped aboard a strong feel train as I have at the end of this game.

    This game is not for everyone, so if you are reading this hoping to learn more and i you should or not buy it I'll make it simple.

    Do you play games that are slow and where patience is key? Then this could very well be for you the universe is incredibly large, there is no dead space because your character interacts with all environments.

    Are you more of a fast paced gamer who would rather play CoD, Fortnite or GTA? Then do not get this game you will be disappointed, I enjoy both slow and fast paced and this was a complete blast of joy.

    The cast is mostly amazing, script is a bit rough at points but nothing too bad.

    It was just the best 50 hours I have ever spent on a first play through of a game.    … Expand

    I’m about 15 hours into the game. I’m at the start of chapter four. The story is intriguing and dramatic. The gameplay won’t pull every gamer in. I found myself wanting to help others by building helpful routes to complete missions. I think this game is out to teach us that alone we struggle but together we progress. It’s a very cool game... just be patient with it.

    If you are a fan of Ico, Shadow of The Colossus.... if you are a fan of the beautiful, realistic open world of Red Dead Redemption, and the sci fi mechanics of Horizon Zero Dawn, then you will love this game. Do not believe the negative reviews, they probably dont have a PS4. This is a slow paced game, with great music, beautiful graphics and a very engaging story and characters. One ofIf you are a fan of Ico, Shadow of The Colossus.... if you are a fan of the beautiful, realistic open world of Red Dead Redemption, and the sci fi mechanics of Horizon Zero Dawn, then you will love this game.     Поставлю общую 9, сюжет просто великолепен - 10, интрига с первых трейлеров до финальных титров, геймплей довольно оригинальны местами увлекательный, но не тот, что заставит тебя играть в эту игру снова и снова через годы - 8, саундтрек, катсцены на высочайшем уровне - 10. Спасибо, Хидео, история получилась великолепная!Поставлю общую 9, сюжет просто великолепен - 10, интрига с первых трейлеров до финальных титров, геймплей довольно оригинальны местами увлекательный, но не тот, что заставит тебя играть в эту игру снова и снова через годы - 8, саундтрек, катсцены на высочайшем уровне - 10.     Melhor jogo da geração, inovador em vários aspectos, me arisco a dizer até revolucionário.
    É sim um Walking Simulator mas não só isso, andar é apenas UMA das coisas que esse jogo faz, e vale dizer que faz muito bem feito. Masterpiece.

I was a little cautious going into a game primarily centered around delivery missions but the story and characters were deep, relatable, and held my interest without fail. А так если по сути, то Кодзима остался верен себе - интересные игровые механики, красивые кинематографичные кат-сцены, куча философских подтекстов и затянутый геймплей, (MGS5 передаём привет).Хотя, никто и не заставляет проходить побочки))). Игра по сути не для всех - особенно не для любителей Fortnite. Игру кушать надо не совсем уж и залпом, а тоЛучший симулятор доставщика в мире))).     A game with a great atmosphere, great soundtrack and cool graphics. Relaxing to spend time in it is a complete pleasure. The plot is also good, although sometimes they explain it a lot.

    attention to detail is symphonic it just doesn't compare to the current AAA creative space this generation, or any generation. The BTs are legitimately the scariest video game 'enemies' I can remember too. I was not prepared for the stealth in this game. It is as rewarding and challenging as say MGS3 or even MGS4? No, but boy if it's not some of the creative and spine tingling encounters I've had since Dead Space 2. Interestingly enough, I do think that narratively, 9 hours in, it's a massive improvement over the slog that was MGS4 so people saying it's the same old Kojima writing aren't giving it enough time or credit. I was weeping when I lost a package and couldn't go back for it. Like it sounds stupid but 20 mins in you either feel the same way or it's not for you. (I don't mean that in an elitist artsy why either.) It actually feels like Kojima took a few screenwriting classes this time. In summation, the animations, cinematography and graphical composition make Gears 5 and Assassin's Creed Odessy look like they're 360 lauch titles. (And I'm talking about the PC versions) Now, are of these elements enough to keep someone who engaged for 50 plus hours though, I hope so, but I doubt it. As odd as that sounds.     A complete masterpiece, many people don't get it or like their games similar to what everybody else is playing, Death Stranding is a game that illustrates the need to have variety in the videogame industry, the themes it uses for its story provide an insight as to how current society is and how we can become better people by connecting to others. A game a true gamer should not ignore.

You are no longer challenging this guy or that––each trip is a challenge. Killing is no longer the way you approach another being––even the concept of killing is itself being overturned in the grand backdrop of Death Stranding. You are no longer alone, although so often you feel lonely in the game. As in the prophetic prologue quote from Kubō Abe, you are no longer holding sticks but ropes.

    I recommend this game, not just to niche players but to all who still love gaming. There are different ways to tell a story, and we do not need to limit ourselves to one.    … Expand

    One day playing and I have a very good vibe. Maybe too many cinematic, but I like the gameplay and story. Walking is enjoyable. Excellent physics. New mechanics unlocked while you are playing. An empty world which makes you remember how needed is to reconnect the world.

The gameplay I don't personally feel is lacking per say, yet the game core loop is about climbing mountains and reconnecting a fractured society. Which is something Kojima has stated since the early days of MGS2, and all through his career. It is ironic how fractured the user reviews are for this game when the purpose or intent is getting over your own shortcomings as a player, if it be not accepting a new type of game, or it be the patience that is required for a game of this nature. There is no instant gratification with climbing. It is the process of the individual that matters most and the experience throughout. The game is tough, but once you get past a steeper than most learning curve, the game opens up into varying possibilities for the player. Cooperating online, lots of information, mail, interviews to dive into to get more history and lore of the universe. Everything is connected and feels meticulously crafted and very well driven. Despite any shortcomings from user reviews, I would suggest taking it with a grain of salt. The player has to be ready to try something new, and it was always stated that this game will be different. Tem uma ótima narrativa mas a história ainda não acabou para mim , estou no começo ainda e não posso avaliar esse ponto , por isso 9. Mas sim vale cada centavo para quem gosta do gênero Aventura , RPG e ficção.

    After playing about 14 hours, I now have a good feel of the game. And I must say this is a unique, unshakable experience. The story is like non-other, the free exploration with some of the best graphics you’ll ever see in a video game is unforgettable, it is truly creative. But...it has got it’s flaws with slow paced segments, it gets repetitive going back and forth and there is little toAfter playing about 14 hours, I now have a good feel of the game. And I must say this is a unique, unshakable experience. The story is like non-other, the free exploration with some of the best graphics you’ll ever see in a video game is unforgettable, it is truly creative. But...it has got it’s flaws with slow paced segments, it gets repetitive going back and forth and there is little to no action besides little mule camps which can just get overrun with mules and get repetitive. There is also these BT segments, which are the shadow figures which you’ll encounter early in the game, the goal is to sneak past them, I like this a lot, it gives you that scary feeling not knowing where they are. As you progress you’ll unlock better gear which can kill the BTs. The boss fights are a little to easy it doesn’t give that challenge the player will be expecting. There is also this online system in the game, this is probably the best aspect in the entire game. So after you connect a region to the network you’ll be able to see other players stuff,signs,bridges ect. But you’ll never see the other players, you can build bridges or place down ladders which can be used by other players, it is a really cool aspect and I hope to see it in future games and it ties into the games story about connections. So if death stranding worth buying? I’ll say yes it is definitely a must buy if you just want a game to play or just to have a good time,. If you’re into shooter games like “Call of duty” this is probably not the game for you.… Expand

    I love how the controls require dedication. You can't have one hand on the controller and the other on you phone else Sam will be tripping all over the place. The story also has that Kojima charm to it that you could only get from MGS before.

The interesting thing is that who is really playing the game, is loving the game that tells a story similar to Post Apocalypse where you are lost in nothing and have to find all the resources and develop in the campaign by uniting things and people!     Learn how to play guys. I spent 20h with this game, half of it spent in 2nd location. Got gadgets that make me faster, stronger etc. It's better later than on the begging

    O jogo cumpriu o que é prometido nos trailers, apesar de ter as missões longe uma das outras, a história é muito boa e te intriga em saber oque vai acontecer mas a frente. Quem é acostumado com jogos mais freneticos talvez não goste tanto do game. No entanto os momentos de ação que o jogo oferece são muito bons.

While combat exists, the primary mechanic revolves around delivering cargo to the disconnected colonies of a destroyed America. This is different from anything you have ever played. Keep your mind open and you will be treated to a new fresh experience not yet seen in AAA gaming.

    Simplemente fantástico, una obra maestra. Sonido y gráficos espectaculares, una historia que te atrapa desde el principio, original y llena de detalles. Un mundo vivo, cruel y en el que no me gustaría vivir nunca.

It is a brave work thanks to its novelty, which fortunately is not a bragging right for its creators, as it may have seemed, but an exceptional title that will reward the brave who play it.     This game does manage to be fun, even if it is one of the heaviest experiences of 2019. Everything from story to gameplay is begging to be dissected, filled with imagery and symbolism -- just like so many Kojima games before this one. Entering Death Stranding, it’s likely that we all thought Kojima’s calling card was lengthy cutscenes and stealth and action gameplay.

    Death Stranding stands as a powerful author’s game which drives a strong message of how our over-connected society is evolving, and how we can help other players. Unlike many AAA games, it shines on a truly spiritual level. Well written, engaging and visually magnificent, it offers, despite some pacing flaws, an astonishing solo game with elegant multiplayer elements. A unique representation of Hideo Kojima’s talent.
