    Very fun addicting game, with unique gameplay, many variations in killers and survivors and abilities, also many different ways to play the game thanks to many variations in add ons and perks. Continuous content added regularly, the best asymetrical multiplayer game you can play also if your a fan of horror and horror franchises this game is for you many different licenced killers. Cons are that the graphics are meh, but recently have been updating the graphics in various maps that are alot better, also recent years seems as if they have his some good content behind a pay wall ie licenced killers and perks, also cosmetics, the game suffers from balancing issues and occasional glitches with certain updates, the matchmaking system is the biggest flaw though and could scare off new players. But if you have patience and can learn the high skill tree it is a very fun game that can get your adrenaline going like no other, the pros outweigh the cons though if you are a competitive person. can also pick up regularly for very cheap like $10 but be prepared to rage quit when you get bad matchmaking.… Expand

    That game is good game on multiplayer games, this game have scary killers and place and effects and have fun when you play with your friend and developer always support that game and fix the bugs but this game a little have bug but is game is good enough. Play this game and try to escape because dark hunting you soon.

    How does this have so many negative reviews?? In my opinion I think this game is pretty good! Especially if your teaming up with friends. The only negatives that I can think of are camping, tunneling and cheating. But I don't get killers like that often. And lately I haven't been running into a lot of "toxic" people either.     Fun game, if you are looking for a different/challenging game and don’t care so much about graphics, more focus on enjoying the game. Then this is for you.

    I've played for a few months don't remember the exact number but I've been having more fun with friends and laughing over what happens during matches. An example being that I vaulted over a ledge so many times while being chased by the killer that they disconnected themselves from the game.

    Rated at a 9 for now because I am still just a beginner and don't have enough hours in, but I can easily see myself bumping this to a 10. It's just so much fun and so thrilling.

    The game is fun but definitely benefits from playing with other people. Playing as a survivor is a lot easier than playing as the killer. Once you get the hang of the maps you'll be okay but some maps can get confusing.

    It’s a good game but the developers have no clue what they’re doing and don’t listen to feedback from the community. Some killers are really OP and other killers are really bad so you usually run into the same 5 killers. It’s still really fun to play with friends though.

On top of this the team of four are always tasked with doing exactly the same thing to escape, namely activate five generators by sitting there holding L1 for about 2 minutes each time, and then find the exit. There is an skill tree of sorts that allows players to improve certain skills and stats but it makes little to no real difference to the way the game plays.

    If you can get four or five friends together its possible there is some short term fun to be had but in the end the core gameplay is too simplistic and repetitive to hold players interest for very long.    … Expand

    I picked this up while it was free with PS+, and the first game I hopped into I was lucky enough to enjoy lagging every couple steps. My internet is fine in every other game, so I was surprised when it again began lagging in the second match I played right after. The graphics look terrible - everything seems to be some shade of the same colour over and over. The text itself seems very low quality and difficult to read vs crisp and clear, and that kind of translates to the rest of the game. Not sure if this is just an awful port, but definitely far from great on PS4 in my opinion.… Expand

    If you read the description of the game you will be fooled. It suggests that the objective is to kill as killer and to survive as survivor, but that's not true. I'd you invest enough time into it you will realise that the point is mainly to fool around with the enemy. If you focus on killing fast you lose points and ranking an if you play to survivor happens the same.

    If you pick survivor and play solo, you are dammed. Find a good team and trash the killer. Still it is a lot easier to play as survivor because the system rewards your actions more, just keep trying to play as a team and you will rise.

    As killer you need to be way better and to have luck. Against a good survivor team you have no chance and you can start playing versus red teams ridiculously soon, like level 15. Also the map influences the game a lot. So it is pretty much a matter of luck in matchmaking, even if you do your part.

    Another big problem of matchmaking is the time it takes as a survivor to find a match. Normally 10 minutes. Sometimes more than 20.
    This happens because there aren't enough killers, it is a way less rewarding role.

    Apart from this difficulties, it can be fun as a team or if you just do 2-3 games as a killer.
    If you want to play hardcore, well, I would suggest to go as survivor, at least first.    … Expand

    You should be able to unlock characters. Through progression when you have more DLC characters than og characters that's a huge red flag.     - FPS. Это главная проблема. Люто проседают кадры. Особенно при игре за маньяка, попасть очень трудно, если выживший умеет мансить. Иногда до фризов доходит. Вроде бы можно поднять кадры, понизив разрешение в настройках    Это была бы крутая онлайн игра с намеком на киберспортивность если бы не довольно большое количество всяких "но", превышающих критическую массу. Приходится ливать, искать заново. И так раз по 5 приходится выходить из лобби - нормальная ситуация.

    - Лаги, баги. Очень много. Сколько уже патчей вышло, а воз и ныне там.

    - Дисбаланс. Некоторые маньяки настолько сильные , что в более менее умелых руках у выжившых почти нет шанса выйти с карты. (Нюрса, Рин). И наоборот. Против стака из 4 выжившых, играющих в пати и имеющих связь между собой, маньяку практически нечего делать.

    - Еще о дисбалансе. Убитые маньяком выжившие теряют предметы и аддоны обязательно. Маньяк не теряет ничего, даже если выжившим удалось сбежать.

    - Комьюнити. Тупорылые школотроны, токсичные. Начинают написывать в личку на всех языках, утверждают что имели близость с моей мамой. Происходит это при любом раскладе. При игре за мана, например: если ты если выиграл, значит ты кемпер, туннелер, нуб, мудак; если проиграл - тоже нуб, мудак, иди играй в майнкрафт. В личку написывают почти после каждой игры.    … Expand

    На 27.10.21 игра еле работает. Постоянные вылеты и даже критическое выключение консоли. Подбор матча дико долгий, бесконечные загрузки и до сих пор нет подбора игроков по скилу. Но...     Dead By Daylight is a very hard game to review. There are many pros as there are cons.

    Overall the game is good fun, its definitely one of the more unique experiences out there in terms of multiplayer games, and the consistent new updates and content keep the game feeling fresh.     However on the down side, the game suffers from a distinct lack of care when addressing bugs and fixes for all platforms ( ps4 is always problematic ) And the developers desire to create new twists and ideas, can sometimes overarch into a creating concept that simply does blend in well with the rest of the game. But the biggest issue of all is the lack of moderation when it comes players behaviour and play styles in game ( hard camping is allowed ! ) which has created a slightly toxic atmosphere within the ps4 dbd community. Trust me playing with friends is very much advised.

    Overall I would still recommend this, and once you see past the flaws there is a very unique experience to be had.    … Expand

When starting with a new character, you are fairly weak and need more perks, but once you level up far enough, you are given the option to prestige and start over again for several prestiges. But the amount you need to advance and the time it takes becomes extremely grindy. You want to do better, so you'll play until you can get the perks you want, but then hit a point where you'd be looking to play as different killers and then you're hit with the microtransactions. There are some paid characters that are so much more powerful or sneaky that you feel you should purchase them, but are then disappointed by the learning curve associated with playing them.
    Additionally, the game is very addictive, but such a time sink. Occasionally the developers will make changes to the balance of play that will favor either the survivors or killers, and it is a constant battle to optimize the characters you play to maximize your chances of playing. They just can't seem to get true balance achieved.

    Pros:
    Fun gameplay
    Hits all the spooky feelings (especially if playing in the dark with headphones)
    Good replayability

    Cons:
    Poor balance and always shifting depending on the developers updates
    Pay to win microtransactions

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I love the game but don't bother getting it on console. Not until they decide to fix the flawed system that the rage quitting killers love to exploit. Good game but very toxic and almost unplayable on the PS4.

    Pros: Great co-op experience,
    modes where you can only pay with friends,
    tense atmosphere,
    interesting killers and survivors.

    Cons: Killers always leave when the survivors are about to win,
    killers camp so survivors can't be saved,
    microtransactions,
    you lose all your equipped items and don't get bloodpoints if the killer disconnects.
    After every single game you have to invite your friends again because even if you're in a group because the whole thing disbands after the game.

    Had 5 games in a row where when my friends and I got the gates open to escape and the killer disconnected so we got nothing. I believe they should make it to where the killer or even survivor who disconnects is the only one to lose everything and gain nothing so the rest of us are not being punished for the antics of childish players.    … Expand

    ok so you can't play with friends AND be the killer wich is pretty lame, its 4v1 and online only but the servers arnt too busy, I wish the added a vs AI mode where you can invite friends and chose who the killer is, could be a fun game if they did

The new 3.7.0 patch will absolutely make the game by far harder than it has ever been to survive. Limiting the areas you can evade the killer with having to still do 5 generators which can take up to 1min 30 seconds for a singer player. Further more about speed, I personally feel the killer is already fast enough which is great! I play killer too. I just do not understand why there is a one hit down for the killer(s). I can kill everyone without the one hit wonder or ranged weapons. I’ve played many survivor games even with great skilled players. I’m currently Rank 3 and when in contact with a one hit killer, dont forget to take into consideration their fast agility, guns/tomahawks, abundant amount of hooks you cannot wiggle out of before finding yourself on one, it makes the game frustrating and then consider taking your time elsewhere at a more suitable and fun game. Do not get me wrong the game is fun, you just get over the it when the past five killers you come across one hitters and a Mori(dying by the hand of the killer without having to be hooked 3x). I get it being hooked 3x is a lot but as mentioned I have no problem being the killer. Theres are Killers that tunnel(focus on one person till their death hook) or camp and wait till the person dies. Once again the game has the potential to be amazing and its fun at times, I know its not meant for survivors to escape but I just feel the killer is too over powered and the survivors are not well equipped in this situation. They dont need weapons yet they are already outran by the killer.… Expand

It is not uncommon to have at least have on 5 rank or up while you are still in the double digit ranks each match. There are small glitches that can hurt the experience.    … Expand

    A brilliant concept, but executed very poorly. It eventually felt really boring and repetitive after a while. The wait time to join a match for me was usually around 10 - 20 minutes, and sometimes the match would conclude in 5. This led to even more frustration, and at one point, I just had to stop playing for a while. It doesn't help that a lot of the "Perks" in this game are incrediblyA brilliant concept, but executed very poorly. It eventually felt really boring and repetitive after a while. The wait time to join a match for me was usually around 10 - 20 minutes, and sometimes the match would conclude in 5. This led to even more frustration, and at one point, I just had to stop playing for a while. It doesn't help that a lot of the "Perks" in this game are incredibly situational, and in a lot of cases, downright useless depending on the match, at least on the survivor end of the spectrum.

    I would like to give this game props for it's writing, and overall story. It's very interesting, and each survivor and killer have a very unique lore behind them. Each time a new chapter is announced, I'm interested to see how it plays into the game. But the enjoyable writing, and unique characters in this game simply can't make up for all the previous problems mentioned. It's extremely frustrating to play as a new killer and end up being looped and t-bagged the entire game. It honestly takes away from the experience I imagine the developers were trying to create. I understand that the game can't handicap either side, but I also can't help but feel like something can be changed to help it feel more authentic.

    To conclude, I would recommend Dead by Daylight, but only if you can overlook its many flaws, and, be it the competition or selection of characters, find something in it that you think you'll enjoy.    … Expand

    However, the game is not very new player friendly. The matchmaking system, like with most PvPs, has its flaws and can lead new players to face off against experienced players, and this is where the game's main problems shine. As a new player, each survivor starts off only able to use a very limited number of perks at their weakest state, the same goes for killers, making it especially more difficult for new players to be on the same play field as veteran players. On top of that, progression is extremely slow, and much of the game's content is stuck behind pay-walls - most survivors and killers, and thus their perks are locked unless you purchase them individually, this also applies to cosmetics for all characters.

    Perhaps the least enjoyable part of the game is its repetitive nature. Every game is the same, the killer hunting down four survivors and the four survivors working together to get generators completed so they can escape. There is little variation in the gameplay which can quickly bore players.

    The best part of the game is how well it recreates the atmosphere of the Horror genre. The locations, killers, and use of sound and lighting, help create a spine-chilling atmosphere that makes you feel like you're apart of a Horror film. The game has also been working more to create intriguing lore for each of their characters, but this is more of an optional experience that requires a lot of effort from the player's end to be able to discover. And on the other side, playing as a killer is really fun, at least until the toxic playerbase comes to play.

    Unfortunately, like most PvPs, people simply can't enjoy this game without sending you mockery and threats, especially if you're a minority.    … Expand

    Overpowered in favor of the killer, especially if you’re new. Too many killers with too many abilities to learn. Makes sense why nobody plays this game when they baby the killer so much by giving them a ton of abilities that you won’t even understand without a YouTube tutorial. It was probably fun in the beginning though.

    DBD is one of my favorite horror multiplayer game, This is a game about 4 survivor VS 1 killer.
    Survivor's Objective is to repair 5 generator and killer's objective is to prevent the survivor from completing the generators and kill them.
    Every person can have 4 different perks ( goes for the survivor and the killer ) and using these perks to gain an advantage over the other person. And    DBD is one of my favorite horror multiplayer game, This is a game about 4 survivor VS 1 killer.

    But there might be one thing new player might not like which is grinding, this game an unnecessary amount of grind and every perk have 3 tiers which gets better every tier it goes up and there are two type of chapters (DLC), one is original chapter which the idea of the killer and survivor is an original made by the Behavior, and the other is Licensed chapter which means they got the licensed for a character from a movie or a video game like Nemesis from Resident evil or Michael Myers from the Halloween Movie. And there is 3 type of currency in this game, 2 are obtainable free from playing ( Bloodpoints and Iridescent Shards ) and other one is only purchasable ( Auric Cells ).

    First of all let's talk about bloodpoints, It's in game money to upgrade your character to unlock perks, You'll get around 10k - 30k per game according to what you've done in the match!

    And secondly let's talk about Iridescent Shards, These currency are mostly used to purchase characters ( survivor and killers ) but you can only purchase characters from original chapters for 9k Iridescent Shards.

    The lastly let's talk about Auric Cells, Basically you can purchase licensed character and original character for 500 auric cell which is are 5$

    You can also purchase any Chapter for 4.99$ or 8.99$ according to the chapter if it's one character chapters then it'll be 4.99$ but if it's 2 character chapter it's 8.99$ but sometime they release a chapter with 2 survivors and 1 killer like Resident Evil Chapter and The Stranger Things Chapter but The Stranger Things chapter is not purchasable anymore since Behavior have lost the right to Stranger things license. I highly recommend waiting for a discount and then you'll be able to purchase the chapter for half the price on PS Store.

    I have 1300 hours in this game and I hate do NOT recommend It has by FAR the most toxic online community I have ever come across do not start playing do not get addicted don't play ever

Virgins are trying to make this game competitive cuz they ass got no friends to play swf with and suck at actual competitive games. Like seriously, so sad you're taking away oxygen that could be used for our savior Lowtiergod.    Worst game ever made.

    This game used to easily be a 9 in my opinion as it had very fun gameplay with somewhat fair and basic perks ect. Now the game has a broken mmr system, boring new killers, complex and unbalanced perks. This game is also not scary after your first 10 games. I would only recommend if you play it with friends. it really fell off.

    this game is a lot more fun if you're laying with friends, but still the art is amazing, almost all of the characters a great, survivor and killers, and the license stuff is what carries this game to the success that it is. DBD wouldn't be here if Halloween wasn't chapter 2 of Dead by Daylight. Overall give it a try if you haven't played it.

    Dead by Daylight pays tribute to horror movies from the 80s. The asymmetric gameplay is just as fun no matter if we're playing the killer or trying to escape him.
