This game has an interesting unique concept, where 4 Survivors need to work together to escape a trial, against a killer, which mission it is to sacrifice the Survivors, to pleasure the "Entity".
To escape the trial, the Survivors need to repair five Generators, which always seven spawn randomly on one of the many maps, Dead by Daylight provides. There are items, windows, pallets and lockers, which support the Survivors to escape the trial. There is also a perk system, which gives a survivor a buff, depending on what it equips. There are many survivors to choose from, even some iconic ones from popular Horror Movies and Games. All non-licensed Survivors are obtainable through "shards" which you can get, by simply playing the game. The licensed ones are only purchaseable through "auric cells" which you can only get by buying those with real money or by buying the corresponding DLC. All Survivors are just Skins, the only gameplay difference is their "Perks" which they come with. If you want to use those you need to either buy the characters or wait until it appears in the "shrine" for shards.
The Killer needs to stop the Survivors from doing Generators and needs to hook them onto meat hooks, which are randomly placed over the whole map. Being able to achieve this missions, all killers have a "basic attack" where they can injure or down a survivor. Besides that everyone of them has an unique ability, like simply being able to lay traps, being able to teleport, using tentacles and zombies and so on. Here it goes the same as for the Survivors, with the difference that they actually are not just Skins.
This unique ability of the killers and the hundreds combinations of perks and items is what makes the game unique too. There is also a Skin Shop and Battle Pass, which are just cosmetics, so there is no P2W.
This game has some story arcs for some killers and survivors which are pretty cool.
The chapters with atleast one killer and survivor, always release in a 3 month cycle, with a mid-chapter Update between them with some core changes to older killers.
Now there is just a huge problem with this game. It's nearly always broken after updates, which some major issues. That's why it only got a 7 rating from me. They need always really long to fix those. The last bugs where mainly a problem for PS4, Xbox One and Switch, but the Stadia Version also has some unique ones which doesn't get fixed since months:
-Missing Maps in Custom Games
-Bugged skillchecks against the Killer "The Doctor" which makes it unplayable against him
The balancing is sometimes also really awful, the perk system is great, but some perks are getting used so much, because they are just straight away extremely strong and some perks just trash. The matchmaking right now is also just bad. Often you play against people who are way above your skill level or way under yours. Some killers also have just extremely underpowered abilities, so they often don't get used by people, while others don't require any skill and feel unrewarding to play against.
In CT Timezone you need to wait longer in the evening as a survivor to find a match and in mid-day longer as a killer.
Usually playing with friends as survivors is extremely fun, while playing killer is often fun and playing alone as survivor is either hit or miss.
Sidenote:
There is cross-play between Stadia,PC,Xbox, Playstation and Switch, but no in-game voice chat for no reason.
Currently also cross-progression between Stadia and PC.
There is also a colour-blind mode!
For more Infos about the game, try to search up the DbD Discord if you have any questions. They are extremely nice and helpful.
Edit: Besides what I mentioned above, this game runs pretty well on Stadia.… Expand
