    You can put this game right next to The Witcher 3 on the first place of best games ever. This game is so good that i can't stop schooting freakers and stuf. Extremely great gameplay and storytelling, this should be a more popular game. It also changes a lot in the gameplay and story what makes this game feeling suspense al the time.     These type of games only come around once a decade it seems. Each character feels like someone that you've actually met in Life or want to meet. The voice acting is some of the best I've seen in a video game ever. The story is great, not the best I've ever played but it's engaging and makes you feel for the character Deacon St john. Once in awhile a game comes along that all I can think about is wow I just don't want this to end and that's the way I felt every time I played this game. It's such a great map that I almost never want to use fast travel because you never know what you might miss. The only disappointing thing about this game is the fact that they didn't do any DLC afterwards or do anything to keep the story going. The thing that blew my mind the most was the zombie hordes. It creates a sense of panic that I have never felt before in a game. You could be hiding in a bush hurling Molotov cocktails towards the zombies and if one zombie happens to sniff you out, you have to start running for your life trying to strategically find a way to find some place where you can keep fighting.     FANTASTIC! Days Gone if truly an experience like no other. I have never had this much fun. Great story, amazing characters, especially Deacon, great voice acting, gorgeous open world and a bad-ass motorcycle. What more can you ask for. Oh, did I mention the Hordes! Oh man! The feeling of being chased by 500 freakers,... what a RUSH! Mowing down zombies with a wide variety of weapons,FANTASTIC! Days Gone if truly an experience like no other. I have never had this much fun. Great story, amazing characters, especially Deacon, great voice acting, gorgeous open world and a bad-ass motorcycle. What more can you ask for.     Days Gone is one of the best games I have played in the past 2 generations. I saved the in-game plus just to be able to play it on the PS5 & once again it didn't disappoint. This is the zombie game we all deserved and ranks up there with Dying Light in my book and in many ways it's way better. Love this game!

    A whole lot of "Walking Dead" mixed with a little bit of "Son's of Anarchy" sounds like a great combination and this game didn't disappoint. The gameplay and environment was solid, the narrative kept me coming back for more, and the BGM made the experience much more enjoyable.     One of my favorite games that I have ever played. I was gonna skip it to be honest after seeing the reviews, but I am glad I gave it a try. Hope they make a sequel.

    Me gustó el juego de manera general pero la historia es larguísima y no es precisamente buena!!!! Por lo demás, es un juego sumamente entretenido que si tienes oportunidad de comprarlo en rebaja... hazlo vale la pena.

    İt is a masterpiece except gun fights and the brainless enemies. İt is really fun and the story is really well. Deacon is charismatic and he is a great character. I have played God of war, Spiderman, uncharted, ghost of tsushima but this is the most enjoyfull of all.

    + Противостояние огромному количеству фриков - орды.

    - Из-за того, что это версия пс4 есть долгие загрузки, порой происходит загрузка между катсценами.
    - Добавление совершенно ненужной механики с заправкой бензина, которая только увеличивает время без того итак длительной игры, сильно раздражает в начале, причём в сюжетных миссиях у тебя бензин бесконечный, а в побочках нет, такое ощущение, что разрабы могли убрать эту механику, но не стали. В конце игры нехватку бензина не чувствуешь, так как бак уже прокачан либо можно заправляться спокойно в лагерях, тк кредитов много.
    -Открытый финал, нет точных ответов.
    - На старте прохождения игра не щадит тебя, тк я начал играть на высоком уровне сложности, не было много патронов, запас сил тратится очень быстро, а убить можно только в голову с одного выстрела, иначе примерно 7-8 патронов уходить только на одного фрика
    или человека, привет Борис, патронов не много, а ты в свою очередь за пару ударов отлетаешь, что я считаю плохим балансом, также в начале нет нормального холодного оружия, даётся только нож, но с ним одного противника будешь год долбить, честно хотелось дропнуть в начале прохождения из-за такой системы.
    -Кривое колесо снаряжения, сколько раз я плевался, пытаясь выбрать тот или иной предмет в разгар драки, даже к концу игры толком привыкнуть не получилось.
    -За всю игру не запомнил нормальных композиций, такое ощущение, что их вообще нет, кроме начальной, но она столько раз повторяется, что уже приелась, да и при битве с ордой ещё одна есть.
    -Система дарк соулса, где кроме кувырка ничего нет, почему нельзя было добавить уклонение, тк это кувырок не всегда спасает от получения урона.
    - Кто-нибудь пользовался арбалетом вообще, зачем он добавлен, если занимает тот слот, что и снайперская винтовка. Арбалет даже с одного выстрела в голову не убивает, я конечно понимаю, что его можно прокачать, но чтобы это сделать, нужно прокачивать лагерь, а в начале игры уж лучше взять снайперскую винтовку, а про арбалет забыть, как я и сделал.
    - Тупой стелс в миссиях с Брайаном во время которого нужно бегать из одного куста в другой,
    чтобы подслушать учёного.    … Expand

    Awesome game! I can tell sony rushed this dev team and it makes itself known with some bugs here and there. It ends up giving a fun awesome, probably the best zombie game ever made a bad name. It's on sony for rushing a diamond being made. 71 lol Meta get with the program looks like you need better Critics.

    Played this for the first time on PS5 2 years after it was released and found out it still has a lot of bugs. I even got the platinum but this game is so tedious and repetitive I spent 6 months after completing it. Bend Studio better focus on something else than a sequel to this game.

In Days Gone you'll play as Deacon, who after some unforseen events, loses his girlfriend. The rest of the game centers around his belief that she's out there somewhere (hence the title). Not only an emotionalDays Gone is an absolute gem of a game, though it may be more of a diamond in the rough. Graphically stunning, and tactfully challenging, this game delivers on all fronts. In Days Gone you'll play as Deacon, who after some unforseen events, loses his girlfriend. The rest of the game centers around his belief that she's out there somewhere (hence the title). Not only an emotional journey, but an engaging one, you'll find yourself using your wits more than your guns to outsmart both freakers, this game's version of zombies, and human combatants. The Oregon in this game is far less welcoming after what transpired than it's real life counterpart. What really stands out about this title is it's systematic approach to combat. A wild animal, a group of properly primed freakers, or even a well placed sound can be your best weapon in combat. Often times I'd just provoke a but of chaos and sit back with the popcorn as it all unfolds. This method never gets old. If given the chance I definitely recommend checking out Days Gone, it's a pretty unique experience in a world full of zombie games and you won't regret that you did.… Expand

    I never thought that I would ever make a metacritic account to post a review. Honestley the critics were completely WRONG! about this game. It's like most of them played the first hour and just threw a number on it. Im over 40 hours in and it is a blast! Dont trust the critics on this one!

    I honestly wouldn't even have finished it or played it very long without cheats. A lot of it is really nice, but the game design is a horrendous mess of ideas thrown together seemingly at random.     It's like several people came up with different ideas and game design elements that don't work with each other at all, never talked with each other (was this developped during the pandemic?) but still put all of it in the game.

    Sony decided to shelf the IP altogether. I think that's a terrible idea.
    I don't agree that it should get a sequel either, or at least I don't think that should be the next step.
    It needs a remaster or a re-release, like a new edition in which they would fix all of its problems and everything that doesn't work.    … Expand

    MASTERPIECE... Just recently finished this game on the PS5. Flawless game from start to finish. Im already REPLAYING the game. Only a few game left me with this feeling of wanting more this much. Cant believe I didnt play this earlier. MUST PLAY

    However, I experienced a low frame rate often and encountered a number of bugs.

    I was going into this game not expecting much due to zombie fatigue. Too many zombie games movies and shows out there but surprisingly this is game has a great story and is alot of fun. I was pretty hooked on this game and finished it rather quick becaus I found myself binging on it quite often.

    Red Dead Redemption 2 smashed into Last of Us 2 = Days Gone.

    This game is pretty epic. Open world minus the grind. Love it.

    Hope the shooting mechanics were a little better tho. But they are exactly like RDR2 and LOU2

    Your bike becomes an extension of you and the fact that bullets, fuel, and heavy weaponry are scarce, enriching your immersion in this post-apocalyptic world. Climbing and scaling is also fun and realistic.
    Enemy encounters like road ambushes and migrating hordes were the best procedurally generated gameplay content I've experienced.
    No level gating or grinding but player progression through skills is also top-notch!
    I enjoyed Deacon as a deeply flawed protagonist haunted by his past, a protagonist doesn't need to be a role model, the motion capture for Deacon is best in class.

    Now to the bad. Story pacing felt choppy at times. At times I was receiving 5 radio messages, one after the other. This could've been spread out by delaying mission unlocks more and injecting more incentive to free-roam, or by not allowing new transmissions to come through if you are 200 feet away from your GPS coordinates or a camp.
    I discovered later game content earlier than I should've at times, they could've just removed some set pieces and added them when the time came. I wish Enemy AI was smarter and, although Deacon's model is emotive, some side characters were stiff.

    This game has it all! I played both on the PS4 when it just came out and left it because the loading times was very slow (this is why I game it 9), once I switched and started playing on the PS5, the game loading times significantly decreased.
    The combat system is very joyfull, the enemies are challenging and the missions are greate but little bit repitative.

    There are also a few weird and aggressive difficult spikes at multiple points. It's not unmanageable, but it's also pretty obnoxious. It's not hard in the sense that you want to keep playing for the reward of beating it. It's annoying and feels like they're expecting too much from you. As if the game isn't aware at how not polished some of the game systems are, and how that gets in the way of you effectively doing what it wants of you in scenarios with very little room for error. These sections encourage you to use glitches or exploits because otherwise, it is aggravating, and not in a good way.    … Expand

    This game took me months to finish. This is not the master piece some people say. The story is ok but lacks of what makes you to go back to a game over and over again. Probably the only reason that you will find yourself coming back will be to finish building your bike, anything else will be doubtful it will be as engaging.

(this is my review which is being written after earning the platinum trophy for Days Gone) After hearing how this game was extremely under appreciated at launch i was very excited to jump into Days Gone. I was mildly disappointed. The story takes so long to get interesting. when it picks up it gets really good. but by that point i just want the game to be over. The story alone is easily a 8/10. but the games poor gunplay and memorable open world bring it down by a lot. The entire game is basically an errand simulator, running jobs for the various camp leaders. doing bounties, taking out enemy camps, and rescuing hostages, all for **** camp owners (except Iron Mike he was the one defend camp leader, rip) who don’t give a damn about the people in their camps. the first half of the games slow boring story is taken up by keeping boozer alive. the next half is still more errands until you learn that Deacons wife is still alive and you know where she is. the last 1/4 of the game is working with the militia to blend in so you can help break out Sarah. The last stretch of the game is easily the best part. Destroying the militia camp that has done sarah so wrong and pissed everyone off for the time in that camp. Even that segment of the game is held back by the terrible gunplay. managing the bike is a pain in the ass. that’s all about the bike.

    The idea of this game taking place in a post apocalyptic world is there at the very beginning, but slowly goes away the more you progress. With the merchants selling everything you could possibly need. Ammo, guns, gasoline for your bike, and everything you could possibly need in the apocalypse. If you want to play a good zombie type game. there’s plenty of better options than this, i would recommend dying light, or the last of us. Overall decent story, Terrible, unoriginal gun combat, lame open world, and **** Colonel Garret. 6/10    … Expand

    The horde mechanics are amazing. I can't think of another game like this that's able to render so many enemies on screen at once at this level of fidelity. It makes for some really incredible fights. The story is also surprisingly compelling with a great and well acted/animated case.

Lisa is a crazy ass **** who gets saved by a loud ass deacon from the rippers. Speaking of Deacon, this guy loves to scream whilst he is on his bike. Somehow can be right next to him and he'll still shout. If this game was realistic, Deacon would attract hordes after hordes and would be dead already. It is definitely the type of game that makes you enjoy gaming again and makes you calmer after a rough day. Due to this reason alone, it's my top 3 games. I would definitely insta buy Days Gone 2.

    Cons:
    -Sometimes, just decent facial animations
    -Cliche start of a story, that eventually catches up and becomes a PRO

    This game had a good story. I liked the characters. I liked the dynamic between the characters. I liked the game play. Was fun doing missions. I thought the biker world was interesting. I have a buddy who runs a MC club and I never really understood it. But kinda gives you a glimpse of maybe some it. Woke or no woke it was a good time and kept me wanting to play. My only criticism is the ending leaving you with sarah not solving the zombie crap. Where did O’Brien go after deacon lost the radio. What about the other evolved freakers? Lot of questions weren’t answered and I felt it left on a cliffhanger. There’s no dlcs or anything. Hope Sony switches gears and decides to make a sequel so long is they don’t go full woke and ruin the game *cough* last of us*cough*    … Expand

It looks damn good and the frame rate is rarely ever not 60fps. The story is great. It takes time, but it builds and it gets intense. The hordes are so intense too. I love how there is unique type of freakers. The bleachers, ragers, screamers and more. The rippers are just amazingly evil and with such depth. It’s a dark story for sure.     Started playing Days Gone after I beat TLOU and HZD expecting the OK game. Turns out it was a hidden gem and is now one of my favorite games ever. It slowly draws you in the world that you cant stop playing. Highly recomended!

    Let's talk about bugs first. So many texture bug in the game, pop-in object, subtitles stuck and missing out of nowhere, levitating while in jumping action and more minor bugs which questionable like how come that have not been fixed yet until now?

    About the game design, it's the worst for a big studio. More indie developers are even better than this game design. I get it that All Playstation Studios start to create an immersive gameplay by creating an engaging story which include cutscene and that's work but not for Bend Studio. The most ugly design is the transition between cutscene and back into action. Yes, Ghost of Tsushima also did it this way for their cutscene but in GoT is way more make sense because they never insert cutscene between action or combat so you won't get interrupted + the transition is fast. In Days Gone, they force you into cutscene while you are in combat and after you out from the cutscene, you are in the middle of the zombies + the transition or the loading is way too long which kill the tension and the experience of the game. Cutscene is the biggest flaw in this game. Learn from your brother, Naughty Dog, they are the best at creating a flawless transition for cutscene, no black screen needed.

    The nest seems buggy but I do think that it's not a bug rather than a game design from Bend Studio because it's consistently happened that way for every nest in the game. When you burn the nest, the zombies will just pop in or blink, there's no animation for them to get out from the nest once you burn it.

    Last, the story. This might be because of my personal preference as I'm getting tired of every game developer creating a post apocalyptic game and it always resulting in making zombies game. Days gone is one of the worst in their storyline. It seems the game is cutting a lot of context in the game like they want to simplifying it but it turns to be janky. No clear context, background and characters building is just nowhere to be found. I'm sorry but poor performance from Voice Actor as well.

    Drop the game after only 4 hours of playing. I'm glad that I never consider to buy this game. It's playable and the shooting + melee combat works fine but the cutscene design and the story just kill this game for me. No wonder Sony reject an upcoming project that almost becoming Days Gone 2.     A good take on an open world zombie game. Riding around with the bike, exploring and scavenging is immersive and realy fun. Combat is also good and the story is a suprisingly varied, although cringy at times and kinda overstays its welcome.

    If they could have launched with better performance we might have had a sequel by now. All the patches that made a smooth experience were a day late and a dollar short. But Days Gone does a lot right, it's a bit like The Last of Us with motorcycles, yet it has a soul all it's own. Very strange to see pockets of unpolished gameplay from a company with a pedigree like Sony, (i.e. saving theIf they could have launched with better performance we might have had a sequel by now. All the patches that made a smooth experience were a day late and a dollar short. But Days Gone does a lot right, it's a bit like The Last of Us with motorcycles, yet it has a soul all it's own. Very strange to see pockets of unpolished gameplay from a company with a pedigree like Sony, (i.e. saving the same hostage with terrible lip-sync 10 times!?!)

    Pulling this cake from the oven too early have earned this game it's middling reviews. Maybe we'll get a spiritual successor sometime down the road.    … Expand

    Bend Studio made a great game with a rich, believable and captivating story. They’ve also resisted the lure of trends: there’s no multiplayer, no lootboxes, no “game as a service” plans – just a very solid (and finite) singleplayer experience. That makes it a rare gem these days, maybe one of the last of its kind. [Issue#238, p.42]

    At the beginning of the game you’ll feel like you've already played this game... then it will let you go for a while only to return with reinforcements (and lots of bugs). However, Days Gone has a couple of pleasant moments, that can't be denied. [Issue#295]

    I expect and hope for a sequel. Just know that going into this game that there is a lot of tedious nonsense to pad out a really good game to make it feel more worth every dollar, much to its detriment. I want to give this game a better score because the best moments are so good, but the large portion of this game is so bloody tiring that I just can’t.
