    Deserves a second chance

    So the AI is bad and it’s very buggy. But the atmosphere and the emphasis on the story is so great that I can’t call this game a piece of trash even on a base PS4. The bugs are mostly fixed and the AI has slightly improved. Hopefully they’ll start releasing DLCs to reboot the game

    Crashes all the **** time. Gameplay is really good but this was completely over hyped and false advertising.

    Nudity is like... What? I can't see my own dong cause of censorship. **** clothing options, like, literally I look like a hobo the whole time. So much potential for this game, not sure if y'all had the wrong ideas or if y'all got **** by Sonys censor stick.

    A buggy unfinished mess that does not deliver what was promised. The city itself looks amazing but is devoid of immersive activities. Game not as advertised.

    One of the best stories i've seen in a video games, as good as RDR2. Amazing characters and decent gameplay. Please note i've been playiing on PS5 that keeps a steady 60fps.

    O jogo começa bem, pouquíssimos bugs no prólogo do jogo, cenas de chocar e arrepiar até a alma. Logo após Jhonny silverhand aperecer e o mundo aberto realmente aparecer, o jogo começa a mostrar os sinais de instabilidade e mecânicas mal terminadas. Os bugs são diversos, como carros em baixo do chão quando os chamamos, policiais imortais e teleportando atrás do jogador, armas específicas (como Gorilla Fists) não renderizando e não sendo usável, tendo assim que esperar cerca de alguns segundos pra poder entrar em combate, armas que não atiram mirando, não recarregam, ambientes que te fazem esperar alguns segundos até carregar, não os deixando os acessar ou até mesmo jogando você pra baixo da terra com a renderização mal feita... Esses são os bugs que consigo me lembrar, mas se fosse pra se fazer uma lista, essa Review seria infinita.
    Bugs visuais como não poder começar uma missão pois o NPC não carrega, o ambiente não carrega, a terceira pessoa não ativa no carro, enfim... Bug é o que não falta.
    Em questão das mecânicas mal feitas, foi feito uma divulgação de se poder atirar de dentro de um carro, por exemplo. Porém, essa mecânica só acontece no começo do jogo ou em algumas missões específicas, coisa que era pra ser feita de qualquer lugar
    Jogos como GTA já tem essa mecânica como base pra carros, mas em cyberpunk, voce pode invocar deus e o mundo mecânico fora de um carro, mas dentro deles, seu personagem se torna uma esponja de balas, e rezem pro carro não explodir enquanto você sai dele.
    Outra mecânica como a "não-letalidade" das armas. Isso só muda algumas linhas de diálogo específicas, mas pode ter certeza que não muda nada deixar um inimigo vivo ou estourar a cabeça dele com um rifle de precisão. Joguei com ambas builds melle, armas e stealth. De longe você sobrevive com qualquer uma do jeito que quiser, a variedade de gameplay é grande.
    Só precisava de mais um ano de produção pra ser acabada melhor.
    A história é maravilhosa, se você não se importa com gameplay brigada e malfeita e quer jogar no fácil só pra curtir uma boa história, pode ter certeza que vale a pena! Os personagens tem sua própria personalidade e carisma, cada NPC tem seu estilo e jeito (quando não bugam de alguma forma)
    Então, resumindo? História: ótima! Todo o resto: mal acabado e bugado até o fim, mas consegui terminar o game três vezes, tenho certeza que você também vai
    Talvez se o jogo fosse melhor acabado, ganhasse um "jogo do ano", mas não foi o caso    … Expand

Баги, везде баги, то нпс в друг друге, то машина парит, то вокруг мертвых врагов какие то артефакты изображения, и это всё встречаешь за пару часов игры. Текстуры прогружаются у тебя на глазах, ведьмак на слим версии PS4 выглядел и то лучше.     I have to uppgrade my rewiev from a 7 to a 9 now as I no longer run in to that many gitches (on the ps5) it is still not a 10 as I still can find some things in the world and other things But my 9 is not really a 9 but a 8.5 unabel to give that score but well well

    This game does not run properly on ps4 i have so many issues like the textures are not loading in and fps drops to like 10 or 15 everytime and on top of that i have experienced screen tearing and so many glitches. This game is a slap in the face to every cdpr fan and cdpr should be ashamed of themselves for false marketing and bad optimization of the game

Визуально, аудиально и даже тактильно на курках ощущается вся атмосфера игры. А какие здесь персонажи. Я запомнил каждого хоть мало мальчик значимого для сюжета персонажа! Каждого! Каждый из них цепляет и раскрывается. А есть настолько раскрытые персонажи, что к концу игры, ты их воспринимаешь как собственных знакомых и друзей. Уж очень многое вас зсвязывает. А эти квесты.... это новый уровень.... спасибо за такой шедевр !… Expand

    Sure, the game is not at peak performance but Night City at dusk is still a beautiful view when I ride my bike up into the hills.

    You will meet rogue AI's, atypical religious fanatics, and a moody bozo with a grenade for a nose.
    If that's all too much you can stop roadside for some peaceful meditation.
    Some NPC's stories are hilarious, and others downright depressing. Optional data shards strewn throughout will key you in to background stories behind the people that dwell there and you can interact with every NPC in some way.
    The scale of the world building is impressive. You never know what you're going to come across next.

    Cyberpunk is an enjoyable adventure whether you prefer gunplay, explosions, stealth or melee in any combination.

    The main bugs still present are a handful of crashes (I've had perhaps a dozen - often after long sessions) - but the manual and auto saves at each key moment mean I rarely have to retrace my steps. The other minor issues still present are occasional clipping or dialog bugs, and vehicles popping in and out.
    (I believe many of these issues have been ironed out on the current gen platforms)

    I recommend playing this game on a current gen system if you have a choice. But given I'm invested in an older console I don't regret the purchase in the slightest.

    The game easily eclipses all this with an immersive world and a vast range of intriguing characters.
    If you're here for a good story and fluid combat you're going to have a good time.

    tldr; you can drive an imitation batmobile, own a talking gun and adopt a cat.
    Night City is a ride worth experiencing.    … Expand

    Great RPG with a first person view. Similar games at the moment just does not exist. The closest analogue that I can remember is VTM: Bloodlines from the distant 2003.

    Playing on PS5, Gorgeous game, the light the Atmosphere woooow Seriously Grandiose Job from Cdpr! Yes the city is quite empty overall, but Wow the story and the design of NPC Random Characters, its truly Stunning!
    Been released 1year too early for sure. Don't miss out it's truly a Gorgeous game where I can literally walk around and be amazed! Cheers guys Great Job!

Several crash and force close . Very low fream rate and this was just in normal times . I dont want to think about what should happend in fight secs or ... !     I had the displeasure of being one of the fools to pre-order this game, it's been nearly a year and the game is still utter **** why the hell is this game so unbelievably bland and uninspiring, witcher 3 somehow looks better and it's come out years ago, the story is nothing but another generic cyberpunk save the world story, and the characters and open world is laughable

    Now that Cyberpunk 2077 patch 1.5 is out more than a year after the game's release, I think it's time for my review.
    First of all I will comment that I played the game when it came out and I had to leave it because I had many bugs from the first minute. It was version 1.04. In such condition the game was a joke and unplayable. The problem is that more than a year later the game has fixed    Now that Cyberpunk 2077 patch 1.5 is out more than a year after the game's release, I think it's time for my review.
    First of all I will comment that I played the game when it came out and I had to leave it because I had many bugs from the first minute. It was version 1.04. In such condition the game was a joke and unplayable. The problem is that more than a year later the game has fixed many bugs but... it's still a joke of a video game.

    The story is not bad, although it is not the wonder that CDPR has wanted to sell us. The best thing about the game is the city, yes, it is impressive but it is a shell, it is absolutely empty of content and activities that can be done. Why create a mega city if there is very little to do afterwards apart from the missions? Has CDPR ever seen or played the Yakuza games? They should. Then they would know what true immersion in a game is. Being able to go to tons of restaurants and bars and watch your character eat and drink with even descriptions for all food and drinks.
    In Yakuza you can play a lot of minigames and very well done and complete, there is everything: karaoke, bowling, darts, arcade games, mahjong, card games, fishing, miniature car racing, pool... and much more.
    Cyberpunk has none of this, the world is dead and has no activity. In version 1.5 they have added new apartments and in one there is a pool table, the only thing the protagonist can do is push a ball in a scripted scene!!. That's it, absolutely embarrassing and pathetic!

    But let's go with the action since it has been shown that the interaction with Night City is practically non-existent. All the missions consist of going to a place, killing the enemies, and so on, repeating all the time and from time to time the story progresses. The gameplay is very repetitive and ends up being very boring.

    Artificial intelligence has improved very little, the routine of the NPCs only consists of going from point A to point B and that's it. Again, you should watch Yakuza or Red Dead Redemption NPCs. The dialogues with the street NPC's are absurd many times.

    The DLCs of version 1.5 bring very little, the new apartments, some jackets, a stupid look for Johnny Silverhand and some new cars and a couple of new weapons. Oh, and finally being able to change the look of the character in the mirrors. Truly very little to offer to the consumer after more than a year sewing up the tears in the game so it doesn't fall apart.

    After all this time this title is no longer defensible in any way, if CDPR is proud of this gaming disaster it is that they are an absolutely mediocre company.    … Expand

    I am giving this game a 4 because of all the work they put into making this game a beta over the last year or so. On ps5 its better but all the issues with the story are there. This game cannot be saved its quite sad.

    Joguei no PS5 com o patch de nova geração e ainda assim parece um jogo de PS3 graficamente, gameplay péssima, npcs burros e com designs absolutamente ridículos, inúmeros bugs de todos os tipos, mapa com design estranho e cenários parecem feitos de qualquer jeito, apenas destaco os personagens principais que são bem animados e foram colocados um pouco mais de atenção.

    Played on ps5 and had zero problems with any bugs so i cant comment on any of the hate this game gets on previous consoles. I loved the world and characters (shout out to Jackie and Panam). Alot of the choices you make didn't seem to alter the story much but making the choices definitely made the game more personal to me and made me more invested in the story.

    Extremely bad performance and visual coupled shady anti-consumer marketing. They will eventually fix it or atleast make it playable, but that does not excuse the slap to the face which owners of base PS4 have been given.

    Why release it in the first place? Why hide the truth? I'm a fan of CDPR which makes this experience that much more hurtful.

    This game is clearly story-driven - it makes you sink into the lives of the characters. The side quests are well written, the city is beautiful (yes - even on PS4) and the motion capture is top notch - if you focus on this, you will see the nuances, excellent reactions to your choices mid-convo (compared to    Not bad for a first attempt to make a GTA-like game.
    Now for the serious part:

    This game is clearly story-driven - it makes you sink into the lives of the characters. The side quests are well written, the city is beautiful (yes - even on PS4) and the motion capture is top notch - if you focus on this, you will see the nuances, excellent reactions to your choices mid-convo (compared to Witcher 3 - much much better, remember when Geralt gestured out of context? Here, you won't find that). The combat is a way for achieving your oals, not the main focus and value of the game.
    If that's what you are looking for in a game - you are in for a treat.

    Now the rest:
    - game lacks deeper mechanics - you can just upgrade your character, inventory or complete quests. No other activites that would give it more replay value
    - technically - it's completely playable (despite the often framerate drops - especially hurtful in races) and the bugs did not affect the story/gameplay for me, besides about 5 crashes)
    - your choices affect the ending, mostly - in the number of options you have for completing it

    To sum things up - this game is on one hand beautiful, on the other awful in terms of not being finished. IMHO this needs at least 3-5 months to be at it's peak value.

    Is it gamechanging? No.
    Is it a bad game (at the moment)? Absolutely not.
    Is it worth buying? Yep - in February.

    Much will depend on the speed of patches and quality of it's growth and DLC.    … Expand

I can see why people are disappointed with the current state of the game. Terrible AI, the world is no where near as alive as promised. Would I recommend it? I've played a lot games in my day and this is one of the most creative and innovative stories I've ever seen. I wish the romances were a little meatier; they consist of 1) do a few missions for that character 2) flirt 3) have sex 4) basically never talk again until the final mission. A lot of promises that weren't kept and shady marketing practices hurt my final score as well. CD Project Red can do better and releasing the game in its current state is simply unacceptable. It's ironic that corporate greed has damaged the image of CDPR given the subject matter of the game and their new hero of Johnny Silverhand. Something tells me Johnny would think of CDPR the same way he thinks of Arasaka. 7/10 with lots of potential.… Expand

    Now that patch 1.6 is out, Cyberpunk 2077 is fixed and is one of my favorite games to date! I'm playing on ps5 and I'm really impressed with how cdpr fixed Cyberpunk 2077. Great job cdpr.

    I love a lot of the characters and side stories, as well as the interesting things hidden off the beaten path. I only wish that there was more of it. The world is largely empty and shallow in spite of the freedom of movement. This is the least interactive RPG that I have played in years, and many elements are merely fluff and flash. I had 41 crashes the first week, and haven't bothered counting them since... The bugs--oh, man--the bugs... Recent patches have made small improvements, but the fundamental flaws have yet to be touched. Hopefully, we'll see a completed version of CDPR's premature baby at some point, but for now, I'd avoid it like an Anthrax wetnap. This is fairly easy on Playstation if you're late to the party, because Sony removed the digital version until further notice. Still: If you're something of a masochist--or possess a tremendous amount of patience, then there is quite a bit of fun to be had in Night City and The Badlands. Just keep your expectations low.

    2021 edit: The game is now mostly stable on a PS4 Pro, but still suffers from low visual fidelity, major hiccups, and technical problems. The most common bugs have been addressed, pointless DLC has been released (free jackets,) and the mediocrity has never been more obvious. If you do decide to play, then I suggest waiting until the PS5 version is released. Otherwise, wait for a deep sale. ($30 or less)    … Expand

    the ground wont even be there. smh. so done with the gaming industry and all the **** instead of spending all that money on keanu reeves and music bands, i like keanu but the music is garbage, a simple (fallout 3/4 style) talk radio station that plays a few tracks of music that had cyber tronica or edm would have been clever and a lot better.

    the storys ok but the bugs are just kicking my ass. im at the point and barley into act 2 where i just dont even wanna play.

    soon as i get into the game it crashes or spaz's out or something happens not due to even playing the game that just is hugly off putting.

    give it a year maybe they'll fix some bugs and it'll be playable. this just flat out reminds me of fallout 76's sh*t all over again, a trend that is getting way to common place in the gaming industry. releasing trash and telling me its truffle laden gold.

    I have just finished my second playthrough of Cyberpunk 2077, my first playthrough was on PC at release, and my most recent playthrough on PS5.

    As for the game itself, CDPR clearly poured countless hours into creating the world but didn't populate it with enough side-content. There are some great side missions, but the vast majority of them are just boring cut and paste (go here, kill/steal that, leave),

    Vehicle handling is frustrating, taking some corners feels like you're driving on ice with how dramatically the car spins out, and there isn't a lot of variety to the vehicles themselves. Most are terrible, once I picked up the Caliban? I didn't need to bother with any other car.

    The main story is decent, the voice acting is solid and overall presentation is great. I enjoyed the gunplay and hacking mechanisms, I also enjoyed the fact I didn't have to mess around with stealth, if things go loud you don't fail the mission and run through it guns blazing if you choose.

    The item upgrade system is fundamentally flawed, I was at level 47 when I finished the game and did as much side content as I could stomach but I still couldn't fully upgrade my items. If you pick up an EPIC gun early on and upgrade it, it can end up more powerful than if you pick up a legendary later.

    Overall I enjoyed my second time around in this game, I expect the new DLC and rebalances will be good, the game is rough around the edges but in no way deserving of the nonsense 0/10 scores below, nor the ridiculous 10/10 scores.    … Expand

    First thing I noticed while playing this game was that the detail throughout the city is top notch. The floating signage, news and television footage which would have taken them hours to put together, aesthetically it is just so beautiful. You can really tell the developers have put in a lot of time into all the details to try and bring the city to life.

    On the city, I did notice some areas are super crowded like markets and club areas but once you move outside that the crowds thin out as do traffic. I expect this has something to do with memory utilisation, too many moving parts might make the game lag on the PS4 so they had to scale it back I have no idea. It didn’t detract from my enjoyment as I was more focused on the skyline and signs about the place rather than people but I know that this has upset some gamers.

    One small detail I particularly liked was the text messages feature and the ability to reply. I found myself calling random NPCs just to see what kind of conversations you could have. Speaking to a dead persons mail box can be quite emotional and raw – fantastic script writing.

    I loved the variety of radio stations, hip hop, rock, metal, even latino and jazz. My favourite was a syth station called Pacific Dreams that has a futuristic 80s vibe (Is that a thing?) along with Body Heat radio. Still on music, the core soundtrack in my opinion is perfect. They had a variety of composers who each set different scenes. Sometimes the score is frantic with hard beats during action moments while at more emotional moments the score is slow and synth heavy. They certainly have captured the rollercoaster ride your V has undertaken.

    That all said the story is the crowning jewel of this game. Some characters can be saved, or they can die and this will affect little parts of your story during your playthrough. These choices will also affect aspects of your ending too. I tried multiple endings and one actually made me tear up. I can’t really talk about the story too much without spoiling the game but there are many heartfelt moments which will resonate with you long after you’ve played through them.

    All these elements combined, beautiful environments, fantastic music blended with an emotional story make for one hell of a game and a journey that I wanted to embark upon again as soon as the credits had rolled.

    Last note: After going with male V on my second playthrough I can say without a doubt that playing as female V felt 50 times better. I felt like the love hate relationship between V and Johnny Silverhand made more sense, instead of a guy living in another guys body you had this guy in a chicks body. Likewise the friendship/potential relationship with Judy was so much more beautiful and with Panam you had a hard-ass bestie thing going on. It felt like Panam was a chick who really had your back, who you could go to war with. If I can make a recommendation on this game is that you must play with female V, it is so rewarding. I also felt the voice actor was a lot better too.    … Expand

    When it works correctly, it can be fun. It is NOWHERE near as immersive or complex as they claimed it would be (the crowd behavior and density is bad, it looks and feels like an abandoned city).

    Pros:
    - Shooting is pretty good, melee is "okay"
    - When it works, it is fun to play
    - Good "mature" story
    - Cyberpunk theme/backdrop

    CONS:
    - Its still broken, even after months of patches, its still broken on a fundamental level.
    - Missing lots of features that were promised: Branching/unique story, Owning property/apartments (You get an armory/gun wall... that you can't display guns on. ???)
    - Driving is horrendous
    - Physics are laughably bad
    - Light crowds and often non-existent traffic makes the city feel abandoned.
    - Police spawn instead of "arrive" at your location
    - Enough bugs and glitches to stretch to the moon and back
    - Weiners, weiners everywhere. On apartment walls, in shops, in bathrooms. I've never seen so many dongs in a game before.

    As bad as the PS4 version is on PS5, somehow the base consoles are worse. This is wrong, more so than most games before it because even a game like Anthem wasn't this broken at launch. Maybe Fallout 76 was worse. Maybe.

    This game was in early alpha, it wasn't even remotely close to being finished and even after (5?) months of patches and fixes, its still broken.

    CDPR had the respect and trust of the industry as well as the consumer and they just flushed it all down the toilet with this release. I fully expect them to declare at the end of this year that "its fixed" meaning they're going to abandon it, Andromeda style.

    Wait for a deep discount or for the "its fixed" declaration and probably don't play on base consoles.    … Expand

    In-between crashes it's fun action, and a lot of interesting tasks to work on. However, I am thinking it's best to wait until I can get my hands on a PS5, maybe in mid-2021 if I am lucky, before I play this game. Trouble is, I can't stop playing. It is struggling to run well on PS4 Pro, but 75% of the time not too bad.

    Deleted after 4 hours play. Bugs are a nuisance, but not the worst issue. Awful game, horrible gameplay. Don't understand sinking 3 magazines, including headshots, to kill 1 enemy. Graphics are nothing special, either - same/similar landscape throughout. Over-hyped, waste of money.

Some character models are of ps2 era util SECONDS after loading kicks in. And that before all the quest bugs and glitches, I did not encounter them, but that because I just could not bring myself to play enough to see them.

    And it's not like it was made for nextgen and then downgraded to PS4. No, the whole production cycle PS4 was current gen, game was to be released way before nextgen consoles was announced. And it's not like we didn't see GTA5 and RDR2 on current gen to say "well, this game is just on another level".

    PS4 version is a fraud, and they knew this. Thats the reason nobody have seen this version before it was on shelfs.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I was so excited for this game, CDPR promised SO much, but my wife put it best as she watched me play it a few hours, "It's nothing we haven't seen before".

    Every single thing you do in the game is 'go here and shoot this' when they promised a hugely immersive world with tons to do. A world where you could build your rep and such. At first I enjoyed myself doing some side jobs before starting the first big mission to grab the Relic. Well, as soon as I got the Relic all sorts of nonsense started to happen. Glitches and crashes seemed to happen more but I was also suddenly flooded with 20-30 jobs. People you haven't even met yet call and text you out of nowhere offering missions or cars for sale. I literally walked around for 30 mins getting flooded with nonsense! Let's talk about that Delamain quest where you have to retrieve his lost vehicles. Why in god's name is this not ONE quest with 8 objectives? Instead CDPR made it into 9 separate quests!? It's as if nobody at CDPR ever played any other RPG in their life and is a perfect example of all the missed opportunities they had to really make this game work.

    This game is hilariously broken on PS5****. Just when you think a new, expensive console can prevent this game from constantly hitching or dropping audio, think again.

    Returned, bought a different game. I'll come back to this when it's on sale.

    The game is fun when it works - when it works being the operative term.

    Я долго терпел, но все же терпение лопнуло. Я заколебался от падений игры каждые пару часов игры на ровном месте. Ещё больше бесит продолжающееся враньё руководства CDPR, что якобы они не знали о проблемах на консолях.

    Perdi bastante do respeito q tinha pela CD Projekt com esse lançamento de Cyberpunk.
    Lançar um jogo cheio de bug assim e que mal roda em um console dps de tanto delay e tanto crunch é no mínimo insultante... ainda mais pra quem comprou no PS4 ou no Xbox One...

It's GTA for the driving, city and scared citizens, it's Fallout/Skyrim for the loot, it's Blade Runner for the atmosphere.
    As a HUGE fan of that movie I must say    I will not talk about the bugs, you've read this a hundred times by now. "How's the game though", are you wondering ? It's......ok......not better or worse than the average follow-the-marker-fetch/kill/rescue open world game. It's GTA for the driving, city and scared citizens, it's Fallout/Skyrim for the loot, it's Blade Runner for the atmosphere.
    As a HUGE fan of that movie I must say that the city in itself is a marvel of architecture and art design.
    I'm having the most fun just driving around and gawking at cool "shots" of the city which remind me of my all-time favorite movie. What does bother me however, is the absence of life. There are people, shootouts between cops and gangs, a couple of types of shops and main/side missions. That is it. There is no special, unpredictable stuff happening without it being marked, there are no mini games or other fun things to do. GTA and The Witcher had a lot of extra and fun things to do, Fallout and The Witcher had these unexpected moments that gave life to their worlds. So far, after 40h, Cyberpunk has none of that. I do like the characters though.
    So my score was a seven, two points deducted because of the bugs and glitches, one bonus point added because the city in itself is a sight to behold. Have a good day.    … Expand

    You just cannot release a game in this day and age as broken as this. Its basically theft of peoples hard earned money. To knowingly release a game in this state, a broken, un optimised, bug riddled disaster, and still take peoples money questions the morality of devs and publishers. If this had been EA or Take 2 there would have been riots. Im still waiting on my refund sony! Never againYou just cannot release a game in this day and age as broken as this.     I launched Cyberpunk 2077 on my PS4 Slim several weeks after the release and most of the bugs were fixed, so I was able to play the game from start to finish. However, the quality of textures was painfully low, I usually had only 20-22 frames per second while driving around the city (with dips below 20), and some objects tended to disappear. The technical state and graphics of the PS4 version are awful, which is a shame, because the game itself has one of the best stories I have ever encountered, its gunplay is really good, and Night City is very impressive.     Cyberpunk 2077 is a game brimming with potential, and it damn near reaches it on so many occasions, but the pitfalls of its development ultimately drag it down. There's still a lot to like here for RPG fans and lovers of the genre, but it's far from the generation-defining masterwork that the world was waiting for.
