This game needs serious optimization for PS4 (frequent crashes, low quality visuals and textures, terrible performance, incomplete features). Everything just looks and feels like some Closed Beta version meant for the PS3.

The game also needs proper AI for the Police and non essential NPCs. The stealth system needs serious improvements; same goes for the melee combat. There's way too much junk-type loot in the game and crafting is sub-par. You can't customise the appearance of your character once past the creation screen. Vehicles can't be tuned or personalised. Transmogrification (or a similar system) it's a MUST and needs to be implemented. The UI needs improvements (especially when it comes to inventory management).

Three days after the release, I'm giving this game a 4/10; would've rated it lower but they've actually done a good job on the level/city design, sound and music, story and quests, animations and models for the main characters.

Verdict: Decent game delivered in an incomplete and unplayable state, ruined by deceiving marketing, shady review policies and essentially lack of QA and optimisation. Very disappointing and a shame CDPR chose to do business this way.

Having lots of fun playing this game. A few glitches and have had it crash on me once, but I've played bathesda launch titles. Driving is a pain but I don't play GTA or other driving games other than mario Cart. I walk everywhere and get into trouble. Run into shootouts with cops or gangs mugging people.

Main story is cool but it doesn't work properly and is full of bugs. Everything else I've experienced is a dumpster fire. Shoot outs and driving will run at 15 fps. I don't even know what to say. I've experienced every glitch I've seen on YouTube and beyond. I've never played such a broken game on launch. Once again I'm speechless at this.

The game looks like a bad ps3 game, the mechanics are off when picking up items. The can be tuned to decent up close but the depth of field is horrible. Some items from a far look ps2ish and you can barely make them out. Even with all the bugs and bad scenery to me it’s still a fun game.

Does play quite well when you upgrade to SSD, but yeah - will still crash hourly, but it was intriguing enough for me to restart the game and keep on going.

So what can I say. The setting, the art direction, the music and some characters are just awesome. Early story carries well, but it does get lost at the second half of the game and there was a point in my play-through where I just felt ... well ... nothing ... every character who was still around and every story-line that was still open just made me feel empty. I did keep on going, but I had this eerie feeling that the best part of the game was over and I was never proven wrong. The soul of the game packed its briefcases and waved goodbye and never came back.

I'd say that the game does introduce interesting entertainment approach where you end up being more amused/engaged by the videos of the bugs that the game has than from actually playing the game.

It was released too early and I'm quite sure that the person in charge was just trying to impress some higher-ups and is probably going to lose or already lost their job. My respect to every person in CDRP who fought against releasing the game in its current state knowing all too well that it needed a couple of extra years to be fully completed (I'm quite sure this goes to all the developers involved as I find it hard to believe that they were not aware that almost none of the aspects of the engine or game systems could be deemed to be stable).

What makes me saddest of all is that the world created deserved so much richer, longer, colourful story than what we got. What happened? This is what you are left with: what happened.

Looking forward to GDC post-mortem on this game years from now.

This is a pretty fun game, if you can play it at all. I've had crashes, frame drops, non-rendering NPCs. This is my first review on metacritic, so please bear with me. These critiques are in no particular order.

Positives: This game has okay graphics on my PS4 Slim, with patch 1.04 installed. The storyline is pretty interesting, I got emotionally connected with some characters
This is a pretty fun game, if you can play it at all. I've had crashes, frame drops, non-rendering NPCs. This is my first review on metacritic, so please bear with me. These critiques are in no particular order.

    Positives:

This game has okay graphics on my PS4 Slim, with patch 1.04 installed.

The storyline is pretty interesting, I got emotionally connected with some characters and completely hated others, or gave some sort of respect to them because of who they are in the game. I felt pretty immersed.

Gameplay is alright, not groundbreaking or revolutionary, but it's still alright.

The city is beautiful. I love the graffiti, the slums, the expensive buildings for the rich people. It is honestly beautiful.

    Negatives:

It seems like cybernetic augmentations don't do much to change gameplay. I wish that they had a more prominent impact on gameplay and decisions in-game.

The perks aren't too interesting either- they seem mediocre at best.

The control scheme isn't too shabby when you're not in the menus. Pressing circle to skip dialogue and also having to press circle to crouch/dodge was not a good idea. For example, I was on a phone call and some bad guys shown up. I like to bob and weave and crouch and strike so I had a 10 second phone call that was supposed to last minutes at least.

In the inventory screen or shop screens, things can get pretty laggy. You can't mass-sell items from your inventory, you must select them one at a time. When you sell an item, it seems like the inventories (both yours and the shop-keeps) literally refresh/rerender. It's honestly not a good inventory or trading system IMO.

As for NPCs, there are very little of them spread across the city. They aren't next gen, either. Night City is supposed to be this huge, densely populated city and it does not seem that way at all. I can drive on the highway, through the streets and see maybe 8 or 9 cars on a 3 kilometer drive.

The police NPCs seem to be the worst. You stand next to them for 3 seconds and they'll shoot you for looking at them wrong. They don't patrol the city, they don't have an acceptable wanted system. They're like the Institute (from FO4), waiting for you to commit a heinous act before TELEPORTING right behind you. You run just a little distance away and all of a sudden, it's too far for them to search/look for you and bam, you're off the hook.

The looting mechanic seems off to me. IMO, I think it's too much. The looting mechanic and inventory systems don't work together well. Disassembling, selling or equipping items can lead to a crash, or a laggy screen.

Also you can't seem to customize your character anymore after the initial character creation. No barbers, tattoo shops, plastic surgeons. it might be a small gripe, but I just wish that these were in the game.

There are plenty of bugs/glitches that happen during gameplay. Sometimes during story missions, sometimes not. I've had random crashing throughout my gameplay. It must've crashed 5 or 6 times while just doing the main missions.

The next particular couple of sentences don't have to do anything with the game itself and does not affect the review score: I wish that I could've seen and read honest reviews for the "previous gen" consoles before securing my game. I'm not happy with the current state that this game has the gaming community in, and I feel like on some level, CDPR has betrayed what trust we, the community, has given them.

I'm not sure if there is anything else to say. I can actually see the progress being made by the dev team, so I have hope for this game. I hope they pull a No Man's Sky, this game definitely needs a turn around. I'd love to play again in the next year or two, but for now, I think i'll take a break.

The framerate makes the game almost unplayable, texture fail to load in time (which is unacceptable not only because it makes the game look bad, but also because it breaks the gameplay. Imagine driving around Night City and suddenly hitting an invisible car or obstacle because it hasn't loaded yet) and there are too many glitches that break the immersion and wreck the experience (waay more glitches than what you see in games like Skyrim, GTA or The Witcher and in my opinion more glitches than what should be acceptable in any game).
After I got my PS5 the experience was much better when it comes to framerate and visual (especially if you are used to playing on console). There are still a lot of glitches and crashes, but the experience is more than enjoyable and the game was actually very good. A very immersive world, good story archs (specially side quest), interesting characters and everything you would expect from this game. However given the level of technical problems the game has on the base PS4 and urge everyone to get a refund if you can and buy it again, either when patches have fixed the experience or when you can play on another platform (I haven't experienced the game on a PS4 Pro but from what i have seen online, the experience is much more acceptable).

Personally I don't like how CDPR approached this, because in my opinion, there's no way they didn't know all the problems the based version had. And they should not be given a free pass no matter how good the game is. Remember there is no "next-gen" version of the game the game was officially released of PS4, XBOX ONE and PC and in my opinion all those versions of the game must get a minimum level of quality that CDPR simply didn't meet

NPCs walk through objects, blip in and out of the game like they’re traveling through dimensions, and anytime I go to ride my motorcycle, I see my character load followed by all of his clothes popping out of thin air.

The gameplay itself is nothing to brag about either. The idea that your choices would significantly impact events was overly hyped. Starting as a Nomad, for example, I’m occasionally given some additional dialog options based on that, but they don’t actually push the conversation forward. No matter what, I still have to select the single yellow line of text that allows for the prescripted event to keep flowing. If you wanna play an FPS RPG for the PS4, you seem better off playing something like Fallout 4 or The Outer Worlds.

Other systems that were implemented also drastically fail to meet their mark. The wanted system for committing crimes is a cheap knock off of the system in GTA that doesn’t even work right. Police will literally magically appear behind you, even if there’s nowhere for them to come from, so either the NCPD are all equipped with teleporters and tracking devices, or that’s not right.

Additionally, NPCs all act exactly the same way to everything. If you fire a gun, be prepared to see every single NPC cowering in fear, even if they weren’t in an area nearby you when there was shooting. If you try to stop a crime that’s occurring where people are around, even after killing the criminals and putting your gun away, they won’t change their pose either.

You could literally go on and on about all of the issues this game has and still point out more. In its current state, I would give it a 6 or 7/10, but with all the bugs, I’m giving it a 4. Save yourself the time, and play something else. I’m personally shelving it, and I’ll wait to see if they make improvements. If they do, I’ll give it another try.

    - The game often crashes and this for no exact reason 30 hours of playtime and about 22 crashes.
    - The game still has many character errors: non-loading characters, incorrectly loading characters with poor appearance and the genital looks through the clothing
    - objects loaded at a distance, such as cars, suddenly disappear
    - The phone often has problems such as not being able to answer a call, read text messages or make several calls at once in the same conversation
    - The movement is often blocked after quickly opening the map or the inventory
    - There are scenes in which a death can no longer be avoided due to an auto-save
    - There are different places where you fall through the world

The story itself is good, even if it is a bit short, but the side quests and the map itself are really good. If the game gets better with the patches, the price is justified - currently not.

I recommend playing the game on the PS5 or on a good PC where everything is much more fun.

Great concept, and obviously a lot of time went into development, but for an RPG fan there are limited relationship options, and not enough free play control like exploring the many buildings, buying real estate, traveling with your companion, etc. Could have been a 5, but falls way short.

The game should not have released in the state it is, the scummy move of only allowing gameplay CDPR give to be shown plus no base console information at all. You just can’t defend this game or CDPR, I will admit the story and voice acting was great, but the cons are higher to climb then the pros. You can love this game but honestly you don’t have to and can’t defend it. I’ve played both the PS4 version and PC version. They have such a dramatic difference between how well each platform runs. You still struggle to hold a steady 60 FPS on a PS5. A few patches won’t fix this game, it needs a full reset. There’s too much content missing for it to just be fixed. It honestly feels more like a few dlcs then a game. The amount of content that should be in the game isn’t, it’s not even that much of an rpg, it’s a pretty bad rpg. Comparing this to other games in the same genre doesn’t quite make sense. You think that just because the others had bugs it makes this game justifiable. While those games had bugs, they also had content that cyberpunk doesn’t seem to have. This game is one of the biggest gaming disappointments of all time.

I just have to put this out but keanu reeves performance was abismal he sounded like he was recording his lines like it was a coffee break. His performance was a huge disappointment, the voice acting of the other characters was actually really good. The NPCs that walk around or just sit there and the police have the worst voice acting and AI. I think the Dora game on wii had better AI.
This game honestly shouldn’t have released it had great potential but just has too much missing. It’s like they wrote down everything they were gonna put in the game and just rubbed out most of them at random.
P.S If the frames are bad now just wait til multiplayer releases.
    Great potential horrible execution.

Registered just to write a review. I'm going to ignore the bugs because people are too focused on that. It's a huge, beautiful city with open badlands to explore, but nothings there. I went to a compound before a story quest, and no one was there, I could get all the loot there but it was empty. This is every where, there's a ton of side quests but its very 1 dimensional and there areRegistered just to write a review. I'm going to ignore the bugs because people are too focused on that. Any journal could be swapped with most other side quests and it wouldn't matter.

V is a gun for hire for any gang. The police are in essence a gang too, paid off and shady. And it's in the story. I came across cop's shooting civilians, and the diary shard said they were being followed by people dressed like cops. But nothing comes of it, you can't fight cops, more cops just teleport to you. There's no crime/bounty system, anything is okay to do, just don't hurt cops or a civilian, you can rob them but if you push them 5 cops will teleport to you.

The perks are busted. Crafting makes it so you can craft things, then scrap it for more material you start with. Cyberhacking makes it so you one shot groups of people with a glance on very hard mode.

Stealth is off, you'll be spotted through walls, enemies will be alerted forever for some reason, and if you toss a grenade from 3 blocks or take a shot from a mile, they know exactly where it came from. I can buy that if someone see's you everyone automatically sees you because they're cybernetically linked, but if that's the case, they'd also be aware if you took them down quietly.

I like the diversity in weapons, but for the unique weapons/shards/armor you have to either look it up, or do every quest, and there usually 5 in a given 100 meter spot and a dozen on a path from one point to another, so you have no idea what you should do and there's no indicators what quests have gear or extremely valuable perk shards.

And my main grip is looking like a freaking clown. The perk unlocking legendary gear in crafting is one set of gear, a racing jump suit with heels, and pool goggles, great, but it has incredibly valuable mod slots that increase armor by 200 or crit by 15% so I can't pass that up. But every time I come into the menu I have to freaking look at it. I hate it, I freaking hate it.

The romance options bugged, me. It turned out everyone I liked you couldn't flirt with and I had one option, and if I chose a masculine voice for my V, which I almost did, I would have had no options.

I felt like I didn't have many options. Like some missions might play out one way or another, But others just have black and white choices, like delivering a corpo intern to a gang, or not. You can't talk to the corpo then talk to the gang. You can't deliver the car then kill the gang, collect the reward, then kill them and the release the corpo. It's just this, or that. A lot of quests shake down like that. And non-lethal or lethal didn't seem to matter, I'd go non lethal and get to the end and the mini boss wouldn't talk cause I massacred everyone, then I want stealth and he said the same thing, and then I used a non-lethal take down, and the dialogue later just said I killed him anyway. So it didn't seem to matter what I did. At most non lethal got you a little bonus from police gigs and some other things.

And even after all that, I still like it. It's just a bad game and fixing bugs won't change that. They need mechanic and quest updates to give more depth to the game and fix AI. The main story is good and the main characters are well done, if it was marketed as an on rails linear game like Deus Ex I would have liked it a lot better. Because with a good story with good cast it makes the flatness of everything else extremely obvious.

Could you imagine if Jensen had the pressing story to do, but he was fighting muggers and racing? That's how it feels with V, you're a god tier merc who is literally dying, and you're taking gigs to drive people around or checking in on a gang leaders neighbor or something.

What a promising yet severely undercooked mess this game is. I preordered Cyberpunk 2077, and waited with such excitement to play. I loved the story premise: the underbelly of a world consumed by greed, guns, and technology. But what this game is really consumed with is its own technical flaws, and they are flat-out unavoidable. I had at least 15 hard crashes, invisible NPC's, texture pop-in, horrible draw-distance, clipping issues, frame drops, the list goes on. The game's story is well-made, and is the tired glue attempting to hold this train wreck together. Heck, it's so bad that SONY literally removed it from the PS Store for months.

Even playing the game on PS5, it STILL fails to meet the expectations presented by CD Projekt Red themselves. Will it ever be able to overcome its faults? I doubt it. Another disappointment to add to the hall of shame alongside the likes of Star Wars: Battlefront EA and No Man's Sky.

    Final Score: 4/10

Bugs and glitches can be hilarious. This game takes that to the next level. There are so many bugs and weird glitches that I cannot even fathom how many I have ran into so far; it is that bad. At least a hundred different experiences in a weekend play-through and around 10 complete crashes. No game in the last decade compares to this lack of finish, other than AC Unity, that I recall. Some broken moments are funny, but most are just annoying game crashing and removes you from the immersion immediately. What I find really odd, and cannot ever remember happing before, is when my detailed settings will change, and not just to a default but a seemingly random choice I would have never made, for example, specific gamma settings for 1080, though I chose HDR to being with. Very meta of them indeed as I am almost paranoid that this is all part of the experience and by the end we will all by M Knight Shamalan'd by the devs.

The visual quality changes at random, in all aspects. This doesn't seem to depend on the area, whether in doors or outside, night, day, etc. The quality just changes all the time and my screenshots look like a few different games at all times. The sound is probably the most spot on aspect of Cyberpunk. I have only seen a few overlaid conversations and moments where the lips of the person talking did not move or match the words they were speaking. However, subtitles will pop up randomly and will have to be toggled manually in settings before they go away again.

The game is still fun somehow and I still want to dive in, despite its unfinished state. I wish I was the type of person to be able to wait 6 months or a year to play it in its hopefully finished state but alas, we are all playing the Cyberpunk 2077 2021 demo.

Customers: STOP falling for the hype and demand a better product instead of defending a billionaire conglomerate and fighting other fans. We should all be on the same side.

    Longer take:

The most important reason people are angry at CDPR is the fact that the company KNEW they were releasing a 60$ videogame incapable of running properly on current gen. They knew it and they still went ahead with it because the PS4 version was guaranteed to be the best selling version. It's downright disingenuous.

But even if you disregard this crucial truth, consider the following:

*long, detailed exposition without proper pacing and direction does not equal good storytelling. Sometimes more is less.
*beautiful art & visual design is very much appreciated, but if you're dealing with a VIDEOGAME, gameplay should be KING: if the aiming feels off & the AI is very inconsistent, you'll end up with something that should've been a tv series instead.
*the fact that CDPR has a great history of supporting their games for a long time is encouraging, but it doesn't change how they screwed over day one buyers: the game should be at its best from the start; not when it's 20 bucks on sale. Pre-ordering is a mistake on itself, but it's still wrong from their part.

That's it. It will sell amazingly well regardless because of marketing and hype but I hope it helps the company improve on their next project and the customers to be a bit more discerning with their purchases.

Roleplaying/stats/perks system is interesting and deep, there might be some disbalance but I'm sure it will be polished sometime.

The big "eek" from me is the fact that the game was not meant nor made with a console in mind at all; UI elements are too small to play on TV, controller buttons are wacky and basically it is better to hook up your playstation to the monitor and play it like on PC. Would be nice if CDPR implemented mouse+keyb support for the console versions so we wouldn't have to struggle with that blatantly bad work.

Overall, the base game is amazing. Missions, choices, size of the city and the rpg elements, but it half a game and barely a game on last gen consoles. There's absolutely no excuse why this game is so horrendous on the base last gen consoles. No one expected powerhouse pc graphics, but we expected more than a blurry mess that barely runs.

I pre-ordered Cyberpunk 2077 and played it the moment it hit 12 am. I was excited to jump into this world, but instead I was left with the most infuriating experience I have ever had with a game. I found myself feeling sick by the first hour. I thought maybe the first person shooter was messing with my eyes. Turns out it was the extremely blurry graphics and horrific framerate.

I hate comparing hate comparing games, but I can't help but compare the overall world and graphical capabilities GTA V has on the PS3 and XBOX 360. GTA V was the swan song of that platform generation. Cyberpunk should have been the swan song of this last generations consoles, but it's NOT! It's barely optimized for those systems. Graphically it should be much better. Stability wise it should be much better. The open world should be much better, The Framerate should be much better. Do I need to go on?

What gets me is how stupid the overall world is. Cops popping in, instead of arriving. Zero reaction from npc from much of what you do. You can park your car in front of multiple and you get a no response. Barely any cars on the road. It's not a living and breathing world. It's lifeless, unless you're walking around. NPC feel stupid and robotic. Some of this game seems to be ass backwards. Imagine a gaming company tooting about how detailed the game is even the garbage is specific to the area a player is in. It isn't just generic garbage. Yet, NPC's have some of the worst AI I have seen in an open world game ever! Where is the logic in taking the time to detail garbage, but not taking to time in having good AI? The Witcher 3 AI is worlds better than this. How could they screw it up so badly?

At this point, it's just stupid. It should be so much better on the PS4. I feel like the game utilizes 25% of what the console can do. If they can't fix it and make it be the game it could be, then they should give us a refund. If it can't be fixed it shouldn't have been released on the PS4. What a mess and what a waste of everyone's time and money.

The mainline story is interesting and there is fun to be had in that but dont expect anything outside of that. The world is very un-organic, the people walking around in the city are totally boring and there is no interesting police-feature like the one in GTA V. You cant create chaos like you could in GTA V, it just sucks. The handling and driving of cars/bikes are quite poor in this game too - its ok to get you from point a to b, but again _nothing_ like the vehicles in GTA V.

Lots of tasks have scenes with enemies that you have to shoot that will not die until you reach some point in time or in travel, making the impression that you are playing badly when the reality is more like when you let your brother with a controller without battery. There are scenes where you can do nothin, receive shoots and your life bar doesn’t move.

The driving IA is nonexistent, the cars you see in the city are boxes on rails. The NPCs have the same problems.

Será que estão segurando para não vierem baixas demais, já que o jogo foi bugamete lançado?
Isso é um desrespeito ao jogador que comprou e com as pessoas que pretende comprar mas que não tem acesso as verdadeiras reviews

I’m playing on the PS4 Pro and my experience has been very disappointing. The game crashes every 90 - 120 minutes, which forces me to replay a lot of missions. I’ve encountered bugs where guns don’t fire when aiming down the sights. There is no excuse for this.

My friends who have #PC or having far better experience than I am with the #PS4Pro. But the game was designed for last generation hardware. So there is no excuse why it seems so incomplete. And it's just one of those things that you have to wonder what happened within the eight and a half years of development?

I can handle one single game breaking glitch if I can find a way to work around it. I can handle it crashing a few times but not this much. It's amusing when the car you're chasing disappears at first. It's amusing when the NPCs are not fighting back so you can kick their ass at first.

I can handle bad frame rates, I played the #Nintendo64, I can handle abrupt small freezes before the game continues. I can even handle when the vocals from the NPCs disappears and you just have caption. It's not cool when your car flies into the air and ruins your car chase. It's not cool when you try to call an NPC and the game crashes. It's not cool whenyou hit a pole and your car goes flying and then it crashes the game. It's not cool when the company only shows one version of the game and doesn't show it on all hardware platforms how it looks and runs and doesn't let game publication outlets to show what the game looks like because of embargo. I consider that very poor business ethics. It's misleading the perception of the game itself versus what you will actually get when you purchase the game. That is not a good look. One thing I want to make perfectly clear is that I know there's a good game underneath all this chaotic glitchy mess. I'm enjoying the game but even I have a limit to my frustration and know when the developer focused on a particular platform such as PC and then neglects the other platforms that supposed to be work on. It is quite clear that they focused on high-end PCS and next generation consoles. Granted the game is not an next generation game but I runs better on next generation games because of backwards compatibility.if next generation consoles didn't have backs compatibility the outcry would be even worse. #CDProjektRed should have placed more resources on it's last generation consoles to make sure they were functional rather than focus on just the PC. I'm returning the game, even though I enjoy the game, I'm just not going to bother with it right now. I'll pick up the game probably in a year or two.

Playing on a PS5 which runs the PS4 Pro version of the game via backwards compatibility with a better frame rate, gives you a glimpse of the game's excellent potential, but even then, The game's drowned in bugs and crashing issues. The current version of the game is basically unplayable and it's nothing but a straight-up scam from a company I had nothing but respect for in the past. If the player is not supposed to expect an overall good and enjoyable experience simply because he/she's playing last gen so then the company shouldn't expect people paying full price for the game. It saddens me to add my review to the growing list of angry fans because I had such high hopes for this game. I wanted this game to blow their competition out the water. Unfortunately, that is not the case. This game is a mess! And I played about 35 hours on the PS5, yes the new console! The game has so many bugs. Here is a list of what I am experiencing over and over again:
    - The game constantly crash
    - When NPCs call V’s cell their FaceTime image is all jacked up and fuzzy - As a passenger in an NPC car (storyline mission require me to ride shotgun) they drive slow and unrealistic - The streets are empty in many parts of the city (this is not overpopulated city, it looks remote actually)
    - NPCs have missing faces and body parts during cut scenes
    - V’s dialog choices glitch that force you to only select one option - The characters look away and speak to the walls - V motorcycle shuts down on a way to a mission point and I have to sprint the final metes to the location
    - Guns go missing during battles

This is atrocious! I’m so heartbroken. God, I wanted this game to be great. They should have taken at least another year with this and put it out on the PS5 as intended. In closing, wait to buy this game. It needs MONTHS of work!! Yes, it is fun, when playable, but the bugs will kill any enjoyment you may have. Trust me on this one. This game is not ready for consumers. It needs months of work. A+ for the vision, story, theme, content and side missions, but a massive F for putting this out to consumers in this state. It’s atrocious.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. - It suffers from an identity crisis, since it does not know what it wants to be--- "¿Do it want to be a GTA?; ¿Do it want to be a futuristic CoD with cybernetics like Black Ops 3?; ¿Do it want to be an RPG?"
    - The AI of the NPCs is like a bad joke, in fact, this title does not even allow the P0LlCE to chase the player using their patrol cars, something that since titles like GTA 3{2001} is already possible for the AI to do in games; So- instead the C0PS magically pop-in very close to u, regardless of where u are, like indoors areas or in the MlDDLE-0F-F***lNG-N0WHERE!!
    - The NPCs of its world are literally soulless, which basically makes this title look if it was devoid of sentient life when one explores the world of the same.
    - The NPCs are so- literally BULLET-SP0NGES-- to the point that one can shoot straight to the head to an NPC at P0INT-BLANK RANGE-- with a Double Barrel Shotgun-- but even so- the damage this one will take per shot is ridiculously minimal!
    - All of its ENDlNGS are BAD, since they are SAD & DEPRESSIVE, or because it directly makes no f***ing sense whatsoever---
    ENDlNGS Summary:
    (1) V signs a contract, in which V literally sells itself to the Arasaka Company, just to receive a surgery.
    (2) Or V's body will continue to function as such with V's soul/conscience for around 3 months & then-- that's it-- ¡LlGHTS 0UT for V, if this one returns to its body regardless of who accompany V, during its final Assault against the Arasaka Company!
    (3) Or V gives its own body to a R0CKER TERR0RlST, which has a tendency to make things explode with ThermoNuclear Bombs; Also, this ENDlNG always mentions R0GUE & establish her as deceased because of the R0CKER TERR0RlST, even if R0GUE was not even present during V's final Assault against the Arasaka Company--- ¡THlS 0NE DEM0STRATES S0ME VERY G00D & C0NSlSTENT NARRATIVE SKlLLS RlGHT THERE! ¡¡XD!!
    (4) Or V & the R0CKER TERR0RlST literally commit suicide--- ¡¡¡HlP HlP H00RAY!!!

    P. D.: Games should always be fully functional for the system that has been designed since its release, & that players should never be treated as Beta-Testers-Without-Pay! ( ͡°( ͡° ͜ʖ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)ʖ ͡°) ͡°)

    - picking up loot is just as burdensome, or even worse, than it was in Witcher 3. You have to be very specific, and sometimes even that won't be enough, you just cannot find the hit box even though the loot icon is there.

    - shooting feels either unresponsive or over-sensitive, very difficult to find a setting where the crosshairs go exactly where you intended them to go.

    - Inventory has the Outer Worlds feature where item description pops up every time and covers most of the item screen so you're always guessing where the next weapon you wanted to check actually was.

    - Menu bar drifts downward slowly by itself

    - All settings are reset to default after a crash (or most of the time anyway)

and many more. To sum it up, they should've delayed it for a few months more at least, and never released it on last-gen consoles.

But since patch 1.04 the graphics are now somewhat fixed and don't give me eyestrain or headaches. With my review here I want to focus on the story or lack there of.

I hate how Cyberpunk just throws you into its world without any sort of explanation of anything. I wanted to give the game a chance because I heard it opens up after a few hours. I just got to Act 2 and I have no desire to keep playing. Because nothing about the game makes me want to continue. The first 7 hours are pretty much like this.

You start working for Guy X, that job goes wrong, so you start working with Guy Y, then you get a job with Guy Z, who needs you to talk with Girl X so that you can get Object Q from Guy R... I was immediately lost as to who any of these people were and why I should care about any of them. There is absolutely no backstory to these characters. For example, something happens to one character early in the game and I didn't care at all because the game gave me no reason to care about the character. You practically know nothing about them.

Every mission I was like, "Wait, what am I doing? Who is this for?" The game grabs you by the arm and yanks you along without giving you any time to get your bearings. It piles mechanic after mechanic on top of you without giving you enough time to get the hang of them.

I’m 8 hours in now and I am so detached from every character in this game (including my own), that I could care less about what happens next. This is mainly due to the narrative dragging you along without really providing any substance to the characters you are introduced to. There is not enough backstory or context for V other than "night city is a harsh environment but I want to be famous/successful/remembered".

All the characters know V, and have some kind of backstory with V, but everyone but me (the player) knows V. So it's fricken boring to play. It doesn't help that V isn't a very interesting character. Up until now, every character just monologues to V over and over again about this or that. It isn't even very interesting dialogue.

What they should have done was two things. Make the character your own created character that you could name and adding more substance to the lifepath section. What the tutorial section SHOULD HAVE been. I like'd how in Witcher 3 you start in this pretty big area but it's not the main part of the game. It gets you used to the setting, characters, story, and mechanics. Instead in Cyberpunk you're just shown this little clipshow after your lifepath section to show how you sorta got where you are. Why didn't they just make that part the first 7 or 8 hours?

    Disappointing.

It started out kind of okay in the desert (I chose the Nomad path), but once I got into the city, it turned into a complete slideshow devoid of textures and geometry. in many cases, it looks like a really buggy PS3 game and runs between 15-30 fps constantly. I'd wish I'd be overreacting, but I'm honestly not.

And let me make it clear, I didn't expect the game to look like marketing footage captured on a high end PC, not at all. What I did expect, rightfully so I think, was simply a game that looked and ran like your regular PS4 game (not even some technical wonder like RDR2, no, just your regular PS4 AAA game). But this was a total kick in the nuts. They really should've shown what last gen console users are getting into... This is inexcusable. Should've been delayed or outright cancelled, not sold to deceived customers.

If the problems get fixed, I'm coming back and changing the score. There is definitely a great game hidden under all those problems, but due to it being nearly unplayable, I can't give more than a 3/10.

I launched Cyberpunk 2077 on my PS4 Slim several weeks after the release and most of the bugs were fixed, so I was able to play the game from start to finish. However, the quality of textures was painfully low, I usually had only 20-22 frames per second while driving around the city (with dips below 20), and some objects tended to disappear. The technical state and graphics of the PS4 version are awful, which is a shame, because the game itself has one of the best stories I have ever encountered, its gunplay is really good, and Night City is very impressive. Cyberpunk 2077 is a game brimming with potential, and it damn near reaches it on so many occasions, but the pitfalls of its development ultimately drag it down. There's still a lot to like here for RPG fans and lovers of the genre, but it's far from the generation-defining masterwork that the world was waiting for.
