    Compelling story, with many hidden details and great humor.

    Great game, no cap. Good shooting, good story - little weird but good. Reminds me of Alan Wake, mixed with Prey, with sprinkles of metroidvania. Highly recommended.

    This was my first ever Remedy experience and i was blown away! Played on PS4 Pro and the graphics are amazing paired with the story and gameplay. couldn't put the controller down i was so invested in what was happening

    I thought Death Stranding might be the most original game this year, but Control certainly will be in second, if not first, by the end of the year. The aesthetic is astounding and nothing like I've seen in a game. It reminds one of Cronenberg, David Fincher, or David Lynch.     Wonderfull game, having tons of fun, pretty good story, very atmospheric and stylish, love Jesse. Solid gameplay, maybe little repetitive.

The atmosphere it creates, the beautiful story-telling that keeps you wanting to know more, and the sadness it brings when the story is over... hats off to remedy for making a true masterpiece. This is the only game I have played that has made me actually want to platinum it, and definately the only AAA title that has kept me playing more than 30 minutes. With the way AAA titles have been heading recently it is truly satisfying to play somethig different and so unique that it took my breath away. 10/10 remedy!… Expand

    Ottimo gioco con un gameplay originale e divertente, storia avvincente e criptica con ambientazioni mozzafiato. Ottima grafica, soprattutto per effetti di luce e fisica che permette di lanciare e spostare praticamente ogni oggetto in gioco. Buona anche la longevità.

    The gameplay is great, definitely a one of a kind.     Control is absolutely one of my favorite games to come out in a long time. It is VERY difficult at end which is my only complaint. The graphics, Character story, music, powers, sound effects, are all phenomenal. I love the world they created with this game I just wish there was a difficulty setting or more progress save points in game near end.     This was my first ever game from Remedy Entertainment, and it an awesome game, a very good mind-trick mystery story, awesome gameplay third person shooter with (star wars alike) force wielder mechanic, the bosses I managed to fight were amazing.

    I might try out Alan Wake before Alan Wake 2 comes out.

    One of the best, most unique games to come out in quite awhile. Trippy, creepy, super challenging with great story and actors. A dream like tour of the weirdest x files clearing house of monsters. Gameplay is great, the level ups are super cool and absolutely necessary as the battles are fierce and unforgiving.

    Well as 4 me this game is just awesome, 4 a couple years ago i was astoneshed as now by 1st Dishonored. This is beautiful very stylish game and really magnificent lights, has a good plot, and couple gages. If u don't have rtx it also will be realy cool 4 u.

I even loved the case files that add a lot to the story. Much of it is directly relevant to gameplay; it's not just weird for wierdness' sake. If you enjoy novels like 'House of Leaves,' 'The Raw SharkControl was like no other game I've played, and I loved every minute of it. It keeps offering something new as it unfolds, in the story, in the world we explore and in combat and abilities. I even loved the case files that add a lot to the story. Much of it is directly relevant to gameplay; it's not just weird for wierdness' sake. If you enjoy novels like 'House of Leaves,' 'The Raw Shark Texts,' 'John Dies at the End,' or even just the Warehouse 13 show or X-Files, this game has that same sense that anything could happen, and there's so much of the unknown to discover.

    Combat was great for me. More difficult enemies appear as you go, and I think they set up the hardest content as the side mission bosses, which means you can skip the biggest challenges if you wanted to. That said, those are some really interesting fights, and it would be a shame to miss them. You can come back to them at any point with new abilities, weapon forms and mods to help.

    Control points were a lot more frequent than I expected given what I'd read in some reviews. That wasn't an issue for me at all. And I had no glitches playing on a ps4.

    The story, the setting, the mechanics, the Darling, oh my gawd. This game deserves more praise than usual. Control is a paranormal fiction game where you control Jesse Faden in a FBI-like building/setting full of misteries to discover and references to real cases of the real world. Control is one of the best games i've ever played.

    Graphics are great, everything looks polished and beautiful, the attention to detail is superb. Only downside is after I press pause and want to continue playing the game again it freezes for a couple of seconds but doesn't crash, and there are some minor framedrops, but considering how vast the world is I'm ok with it.

    Sound is spot on, the characters are very well played, the ambient sounds makes it feel alive, voices are good, nothing bad to say about them.

    All in all I'm very satisfied with the game, I'm hoping for a part 2 for the ps5! Please make it happen!

    Control is the combination of story-driven writing, profound and creative controls and abilities, and suspense that keeps you always up on your feet. I can argue that the game wasn't all so stable during my play-through, but the game always makes up for those mistakes with with groundbreaking visuals and eerie atmosphere.

    Jesse Faden, while not the most empathic character or most likable, manages to add more tension to the story than most of the characters. On the contrary, each character actually seems to show a personality that can add to the feeling that the world is very much lively when the entire world is just in one location. Another thing I love about the game is its groundbreaking visuals and thoughts. The ever-so shapeshifting location of the Oldest House and the corrupted properties of the Hiss can make you ever so much ponder of the world and how to traverse it. With collectables that you may want to read, this game is near perfect in how it looks and feels in my opinion.

    The next thing I like about Control is its combat. While the variety of your enemies does leaves us wanting more and most of the boss fights seemingly too easy, the difficulty cap in this game can vary and sometimes can leave you raging as you try to figure out what is your next move and what can you do better in the fight while you wait for the game to load back to the previous checkpoint. Throughout the game, you can unlock many abilities that can help you fight your opponents in the many different and creative ways you can. I personally like to fly and throw anything I can get onto my enemies' faces. If that doesn't work well, I could just switch to the defensive side, protect myself with my shield, and use the Service Weapon as my tool to getting damage off my enemies and grab the health they drop. Speaking of the SW, this thing is a blast to use and with the 5 forms that it can possess, it allows for many more forms of fighting to become plausible. However, because of how long this game is and fast you get your abilities and weapon forms, around the last 4 hours of the game can get predictable and probably, stale.

    Finally, the story here in Control is overall brooding and powerful. The characters help the story to also retain some kind of feeling, even if our main character, Jesse, is often talking to herself all the time just to say a few sentences and do one thing. The Hiss incorporates into the story in a big way but is often lacking, resulting in some of the story to lack some value in it. The Hiss is also not that formidable or scary, or basically, memorable of being antagonists but manages to be creepy and chilling in any moment of the game and the addition of Jesse's brother to represent them allows them to appear even more eerie and "spooky".

    Control is definitely WAY better than the developer's previous game, Quantum Break, and even I thought that was a pretty good game. With breathtaking visuals, great combat, and an eerie atmosphere and story, Control manages to bring the unthinkable and the impossible into life and in one of the best ways the video game industry is able to provide, now becoming one of, if not, my most favorite games of all time.

    If “Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead” had a baby, and that baby were a video game, it wouldn’t be Control, but it would smell like it when it farted.

    This game is at its best when absurdist influences make their way in—corridors are twisting, night skies are appearing in the middle of a New York building, a light switch takes you to a motel that does/doesn’t/happens to exist.     This game is at its best when absurdist influences make their way in—corridors are twisting, night skies are appearing in the middle of a New York building, a light switch takes you to a motel that does/doesn’t/happens to exist. These are memorable and unique experiences that have caused me to recommend the game to several friends.

    And the gameplay is fun, with several different strategies you can take to complete the story in terms of how you want to upgrade your Jesse. To stick it in a nutshell, it’s an FPS, except you’re a Jedi. Come on, smile. I know you can. It’s fun.

    The story was a bit too long, however. It seemed like they ran out of material, so a few of the later main story chapters are just filler. In addition, the side quests are really great when you’re tracking down some crazy item that is going to present you with a unique and innovative puzzle you have to solve in order to capture it, but not as great when it’s as simple as ‘Find the pouches of this dude’s missing squad mates.’

    Finally, the game is pretty easy. If you stay on top of upgrading your skill tree, you’re going to be just fine, and if you do what I did and max out your Jedi powers as soon as you can, you’ll one-shot most enemies until the game is 70% through.

    All in all, I give it a 9/10, and I do declare it to be one of the most memorable gaming experiences I’ve had. Remedy.........well played.

    EDIT after completing all DLC: I raised my score from a 9 to a perfect 10, and I mean it. The absurdist writing and unique level constructions combined with fun combat and great ambience outweigh the slow middle of the story, which was my only complaint. Fabulous game.    … Expand

    This game is a work of art. From the start, I was extremely impressed to the attention to detail and the discoverable area. The facial and body graphics are decent, not amazing for a game of this year, but still not bad. The game gets more fun, the further you progress and the throwable items superpower is so fun to use!

I've been playing for years... Decades! And this was the first Playstation platinum that I got, and basically without even trying!

    My only gripe is that there are no multiple saves, and you can't even replay the Old Gods of Asgard / Ashtray Maze level without losing the progress you made after that (unless by making a new profile or whatever).    … Expand

Tried it 1st on launch date on xbox one, killer loading times, 30FPS, lots of bugs... but im writing this absolute 10 masterpiece review after completing the game on my brand new ps5. 4k 60FPS killer gameplay no bugs just unique gaming experience.     Control was a blast to play. Once I started getting a hang of the combat and unlocked most of the abilities, I started craving longer and more difficult fights. I got completely sucked into the game play and story. The enemy variation kept me having to constantly rethink my load out and swap around my weapon mods, so I never got bored. For a game set in a boring government building,Control was a blast to play.     Awesome game filled with a dark atmosphere and freacking crazy and funny! There are very cool moments here, both in the gameplay and in the plot.

    Of the minuses, I note that on the base PS-4, the frame rate sags a lot in places with a large number of enemies. I didn't like DLC, but we're talking about the basic version here. And the game is amazing. Try it.

    Control is simply amazing. the telekinesis works really well, the story is well written and its hard to stop playing. definitely one of my favorite games of the last 12 months.

    The oldest house architecture is the coolest setting for long time in games. Game play is solid Remedy quality and the there's nice tricks to take advantage in battles. Points from nine to ten because Ahti with his Finnish idioms in English.

    Most fun I’ve had with a game in a while. Gripping with very fluid combat mechanics. The game’s lore is the shining aspect however. Make sure you pick up and read every thing you can to get the full scope of the game

    Personalmente, uno de los mejores juegos que hay actualmente. Obviamente tiene sus errores, pero no suelen ocurrir, y en el caso de que ocurran, no afectan al juego. Te engancha desde el minuto uno, para mi esto es un 10, y si le pudiera dar mas valoracion se la daba sin dudarlo.

    a beautiful game, the metaphysical setting in which it is set is impressive. It remains a masterpiece of that art style. Super fun and easy to play, it's the top on PlayStation 5 in 4K.

    I finished the game, I will have to say that I'm impressed. I have to sign up for a Metacritic account to make this review becauseI finished the game, I will have to say that I'm impressed.     So before we dive into my review, I would rate the game in the following:

    Story: the story is pretty immersed and great, but most of the part is kinda confusing, but it is still greatly built and interesting, at least from my perspective...

    Graphics: truly amazing even tho I don't have RTX support, it's still pretty smooth and great. I don't have to worry about the lag. the atmosphere is so great. The map is huge and you can explore as many places as you can with no limitation once so ever (only if you finished the game or completed most of the sidequests)

    Gameplay: The gameplay is excellent, encountering enemies at random times and using my weapon to kill them is pretty satisfying, especially the weapon animation and the sound. not just that, you can change weapon type without having to switch guns is pretty unique. All enemies' abilities are...what can I say? those are pretty nice and challenging, it's hard sometimes but that's what makes it fun!

    Sound: I have no other words to say, it's so relaxing and great, it's a masterpiece. the gun sound plays differently for each weapon type, but they are perfectly synced with the animation. the environment sound is also excellent, you walk around making smooth footstep noise while there are lots of noise around you that makes up a good detail for the map, feels realistic sometimes lol

    Interaction/Physics: Woah! I'm impressed, you can interact with ALMOST ANYTHING in each location, pressing E, grabbing random crap, and throw anywhere and create a huge mess xD, but tho the physics are truly great, nearly the same as GTA V physics, I was expecting if I grab an object and throw in other objects, they would collide and do some physics stuff, and well...it did just like what I expected, you have so many stuff around you that you can interact with, like jumping on table stomping on every object making noises or even just grab 3 objects and throw into others to create a massive mess, not to mention it also fully collides with enemies, so you can bully them by grabbing stuff and throw into their faces haha! Or just make their HP low and then grab them and throw them into other enemies for more collision experiment xD, but seriously tho the interaction is at top-notch as you can grab anything everywhere you walk and combines with the amazing physics system, it's like a lucid dream. Oh here are some OTHER INTERESTING DETAILS, you can use your gun to break windows, but it's not just basic, IT SHATTERS LOTS OF TINY PIECES OF GLASS which you can spend at least 10-15 seconds to destroy 1 glass, you can also use Pierce type to fully destroy it, or grab any object and throw at the window for fun, now, here is the most interesting part about the physics, is that you can destroy stuff like if you go into the bathroom, you can destroy the toilet and the wall covering them too

    Settings: Dude, there are so many settings here, almost covered everything that I needed. they even include cheats for which if you are not a hardcore player or you just want to end a battle with monsters quickly (I only use cheats after finishing the entire game which I recommended you not to enable cheats before beating the game)

    Map: Hey don't get me wrong here, the map is pretty confusing and I get lost most of the time because there are so many directions to go. the map navigation is also pretty confusing, it doesn't show the mission/objective location (for some missions/sidequests) and it's very easy for me to get lost, but otherwise, the map design is great, greatly built, and have wonderful details with props around me to interact and messing around with them, don't worry Remedy, you're still doing a good job there buddy!

    Lore: The lore is interesting, like Research & Records, Case Files, Correspondence, Multimedia, Hotline. So much stuff to read and I can spend my entire day reading all of them at once lol, they did took the time to write lore for people to understand the game (a bit)

    So from these reviews of my opinion, here's the conclusion:
    - It's worth buying the game, but it's best to buy it only when it's on sale because the gameplay is only roughly 12-20 hours, but if your rich then sure, go ahead and buy it at full prices, the game is a masterpiece and I tonally recommended playing it!

    Ignore the negative reviews...the game deserves to be better, just try to make the story a bit more understandable. Have a wonderful day and good luck :D    … Expand

    This is THE BEST game I ever played and enjoyed.

    I’m a fan of Half Life series who Valve killed and I never thought I would have played to another masterpiece: this is Control.

    I really wish it becomes a saga, it really blows my mind.

    There is no evil to say about the game with a very successful game.Graphics, sounds, character control, the camera does not blend their own remained well with the sprouting going, the story good. Game was also suitable for the demanding faces between a little thinking about what to do and to what to go.

    The best game I've ever played, amazing style, gameplay, plot, all this is at the highest level. In the first part (I hope for a quick release of the second part) there are no revealed secrets and a particularly cool connection with other projects from Remedy. I would also like to note the charisma of Trench and the mystery of Ahti.

    I eecomend having the fireman close when you play this game because your ps4 (pc, ps5, xbox etc.) Will START BURNING, the FULLY INTERACTIVE enviorements will burn you ps4, mine overheated (i think) and the game was lagging a lot, so be prepared to burn you ps4

    Great game so far - not giving it a 10 because I haven't finished it yet. It feels a lot like playing the original system shock, except with phenomenal graphics and acting. The story so far is unique and the gameplay is variable enough to not be boring.

You use different weapon types and paranatural abilities to dispatch a variety of enemies who impede your progress. As you go you encounter new and strange objects and phenomena. There are a number of optional side missions which can be tackled which boost your abilities or give you new ones. My one real gripe with the game is that some of the side missions can feel fetch questy and rely a little too much on back tracking to areas you’ve already been through.
    The gameplay is solid, but this title really shines in its narrative. Anyone who disliked this game was probably looking for a run-n-gun game and didn’t bother to dive into the rich lore. Though, the main story is still solid without having to read through everything.
    Again, this is a MUST play for anyone who is a big fan of media like Warehouse 13, the X-Files, or SCP.    … Expand

    Solid gameplay mechanics with fun supernatural powers to wield, clever metroidvania-style level structure, good plot (wouldn't expect less from Sam Lake) and the absolutely outstanding palpable atmosphere of mystery and fleshed-out lore set this game apart from any competitor. Also, I've seen people saying it's a 10-hour game, which is misleading, as with all the side quests (mostly as high-quality as the main plot) it leans towards 25-30.
    That's not to say the game doesn't have its fair share of problems. Firstly, even after the update there are mild performance issues on base PS4, with a consistent noticeable 2-3-second frame drop occurring every time you exit the pause menu. Secondly, the in-game map is confusing and often wouldn't load. Lastly, I found the ending to be somewhat underwhelming and straightforward, compared to the complexity and intrigue of the plot that preceded it.
    Still, after beating the main storyline and being 3 trophies away from platinum which I fully intent to get, I consider Control to be the best game of 2019 so far.    … Expand

    The writing, direction, and performances are consistently brilliant. This is Remedy at the peak of its game. Control feels like a company rediscovering itself, waking from a long slumber. Remedy’s legs work as intended once more, the vestiges of sleep paralysis a distant memory.

    I don’t want to use the word masterpiece lightly, but what else do you call the combination of gleefully chaotic gameplay with earnest storytelling in a setting as refreshingly unique as Bioshock? What else do you call a combat system that goes so far beyond the simple act of shooting a gun without drilling down into a set of intricate menus and complicated controls? What else do you call darkly malevolent horror that doesn’t feel like it was cribbed from someplace else? What else do you call the crowning achievement of a studio with a unique voice, an uneven track record, and 25 years of experience? If there’s a better word to describe what Remedy has achieved with Control, I can’t think of it.
