    I see people are a little angry here, but they clearly haven't played the game. I think maybe the developers may have been a little heavy handed on the Russian military. And inaccurate with who was bombing the highway of death,(it was the coalition not the Russians). Mission design and graphics are top-notch, story is okay. Overall the campaign is enjoyable and one of the better ones in the cod series and I recommend playing it

    Multiplayer: Has a variety of modes from 2v2, 6v6,10v10, and 32v32. The gunplay and customization is well done. However, the maps are very weak and lead to slow-paced gameplay. It is very different style of cod right now and I am having more fun in the 2v2 and 32v32 modes because those maps are better.

    Spec ops: Have not played it yet, sorry

    Overall thoughts: Campaign is fun and worth playing, but not the best in the series. Multiplayer has some good gunplay, but the maps for the traditional 6v6 and 10v10 are not well done and I think its more fun to play 2v2 and 32v32.    … Expand

    I get that everyone is upset about the way the fiction in this game is similar to real world events, however giving the game a 0 based on that is ridiculous.your basing a review of the entire game on one story element that lasts all of 20 minutes. At the end of the day it's just a game, and it's fiction.     This game is by far the best that has been produced in the series. The shooting mechanics are fantastic and satisfying. Not any crazy movement mechanics to distract from the great shooting. The story is actually really well crafted and a fun, but sad ride with some great set pieces and impactful events. Best Call of Duty out there, got me back as a regular player with the series.

    10/10 disregard any latest reviews, clearly feelings have got In the way and should be deleted, it's a fictional game, based on real life events, Russians have been the bad guys in MW but the American have been shown to be dodgy i.e Shepard in MW2..

    The game is awesome, sadly it couldn't stay away from politics. Seems too common these days. However If you want a killer FPS experience, do buy this game. You won't regret it, the multi-player is soo much fun, perhaps you will find the maps a bit lacking, even I do but I'm confident the updated maps from previous installments will please most. Take care :)

    Wonderful game, where you have a chance to play in nearest future and kill some Russian Terrorists. Locations are awesome, I deeply hope, Donetsk's territory would be deoccupied exactly this way, and all coward animals would be killed. 10/10

    Amazing Graphics! Fun multiplayer! Great story too. Killing those evil Russian goons has never been so much fun. They like to annex countries and meddle in elections and kill civilians along the highway, if you can look past their atrocities and crimes against humanity it's a great game.

    Coop missions are kinda hard and fun, there are rewards to obtain in solo and coop for multiplayer, weapon customization is big af, weapons feel real like it never was. Old maos such as Terminal are gonna come back and much more. Best cod in many years.    … Expand

    Modern Warfare so far has been a roller coaster in terms of enjoyment. There are times I love this game, and times I just want to step away from it to take a break out of frustration, most of that frustration being part of the multiplayer which is what I buy COD for primarily every year.

    Let’s start out with the campaign. While I’m going to be very brief with it and very vague so those    Modern Warfare so far has been a roller coaster in terms of enjoyment. There are times I love this game, and times I just want to step away from it to take a break out of frustration, most of that frustration being part of the multiplayer which is what I buy COD for primarily every year.

    Let’s start out with the campaign. While I’m going to be very brief with it and very vague so those who are reading it won’t get spoiled, it’s insane. Infinity Ward did not hold back and went balls to the wall with the intensity shown in the campaign. In one of the early missions I was actually panicking and afraid from how immersed and shocked I was in the scenario your character is put into. Most of the scenarios and events you’re shown in game are based around actual scenarios that happen today, which makes it that more shocking to take part of. Your actions actually feel like they have some weight to them and you gotta identify your targets really well in some missions or you may end up shooting an innocent bystander. The game does give you a prompt that the campaign you’re about to play every time you begin a campaign session is very violent, so if you’re sensitive to graphic or very violent stuff, which the campaign is packed with, stay clear from the campaign.

    While the campaign is pretty short (finished it in about 7 hours on Recruit difficultly without rushing, I wanted to enjoy the campaign instead of dying instantly every 15 seconds on Veteran) it’s up there as being one of my favorite campaigns in the series. I didn’t put a lot of time into Spec Ops but from the two missions I played which I believe are the first one and a “stealth” one, both are extremely hard as you get closer to the end of them. Enemies can instantly down you if you aren’t quick. I highly recommend going in with a group of friends instead of going into a public match with randoms where teammates can abandon you frequently.

    As for Multiplayer, while I understand the map design philosophy by having all these crazy and multiple lines of sight and hiding spots, taking this approach along with a fast time-to-kill (TTK) and non-traditional mini-map that does not display enemy gunfire unless a friendly UAV is up, a new mounting system where you can put your weapon on a corner or ledge and make your weapon have virtually no recoil, and footsteps being absurdly loud even when you’re crouch walking, it all heavily promotes camping. Now I’m usually not the type of guy to bash on people for playing how they want to play as long as they aren’t cheating or exploiting a bug or glitch, but when the entire lobby is watching doorways and you go on 30 seconds in a match (which is a decent amount of time in a COD match) without hearing a single gunshot on the map because nobody is moving, that’s ridiculous. Dead Silence isn’t a perk, it’s a “field upgrade” this time around which is sorta like a temporary ability you get every once in a while in match based on time and performance. You’re already being punished heavily for moving since everyone is playing with headphones cranked all the way up. I don’t know what was the logic behind not making Dead Silence a perk, but I guarantee you that if they turned it into a perk right now, a lot more people would be moving and the game will be more enjoyable to play. The spawns are also abysmal. I’ve seen some of the worst spawns in the MW beta and thought “ok, they’ll probably get ironed out before the game releases” yeah they didn’t.

    I’ve experienced multiple absurd spawn traps both on the receiving end and the ones doing it. I’ve at times pushed into the enemies spawns right in their faces to wipe them out just to get the spawns to flip and they’d still spawn there in front of me. Call of Duty games have a track history for having super predictable spawns and bad spawns but Modern Warfare’s spawn system is on a whole other level of bad. It does not want to flip your team if you guys are getting mowed down trying to get out of your spawn. We also don’t know how microtransactions will be handled in the future. They said they’ll make it so weapons are earnable through gameplay, but based off how Black Ops 4 was handled, I honestly cannot trust the developers nor Activision. Black Ops 4 was very innocent at first and turned into a hot microtransaction riddled mess late into its life cycle. I’m not sure what will happen to MW, as every game since Advanced Warfare included loot boxes. The multiplayer lis a roller coaster of emotions. Crossplay is awesome, the customization is top notch, and the gunplay is really nice, but I don’t think I’ll enjoy watching doorways like the rest of the lobby for too long and I’ll eventually play something else if they don’t change the meta.

    Singleplayer is simply awesome. This is the most intense campaign in a CoD game I've played, and one of the most intense in an FPS in a long time. This is brilliant.
    Some will dumb it down to "America, f*ck yeah, Russia bad, we save the day". They just didn't get it.
    The KEY point imo is that Russia in the game IS America in real life. America IS doing what we see Russia do in game (sure, maybe not to the point of hanging people in the streets, but it's a caricature, exaggerated for the purpose of the game). Keeping this in mind, the campaign is an amazingly critical take on the modern conflicts in the Middle East, and their repercussions in the Western World. Just like CoD4 was spot on with the "modern" part in 2007, this is exactly on point with modern war.
    One BIG thumbs down is a glaring issue with stuttering in the cutscenes. This is unacceptable, and the cutscenes are garbage because of it. Which is a damn shame because they look AMAZING. There is no excuse for this garbage, this seems to be happening to a lot of players and there's no way this could've gone unnoticed if they tested the game properly.

    For the Multiplayer part. Oh boy. I'm gonna preface this by saying it, the modern CoD games are garbage for me. The game peaked at MW2/BO and it's been going downhill ever since.
    This changes with this game. I'm getting vibes from the original MW games. And that's coming from someone with something like 40 days of in game time on MW2.
    I get that this is not for everyone though. If you've never played the OG CoD games, then this is very different from the current way they do things. Exit the map design where you can realisticly only encounter ennemies at like 5 different spots, and welcome multiple routes and flanks, maps where you can stick to the close quarters encouters of buildings and tight roads with a shotgun, or find high ground spots with lots of visibility all around to snipe people. Bye bye generic laser weapon number 25, and welcome back to simple yet effective guns that feel like your shooting when you pull the trigger (by the way, sound design? Amazing). From what I understand, this makes the game much slower than the recent CoD games, which is a good thing in my opinion, but can for sure be a turn off for others.
    Basically, I can sum it up like this: If you spent your highschool years on the MW trilogy, and got turned off by the subsequent games cause they just didn't feel the same, that's the game for you.
    The addition of the Ground War mode, a 32 vs 32 "battlefied like" game mode is also a welcome thing.
    Oh, and crossplay is a thing. You can play with your friends no matter what system they have (and you can farm controller peasant with your glorious superior PC hardware. You can turn off crossplay if you're a controller player and you (righfully) don't want to get assblasted by PC players on keyboard and mouse).

    Finally on the "things that aren't really singleplayer, or multiplayer", I was pleasently surprised with the stability at launch. I didn't get any lag online, the game is gorgeous and runs at a stable 60 fps (on my 1060 at least).
    I also didn't get any crash or issues that you might "expect" from playing a game at release
    I already mentionned it, but the cutscene stuttering thing is unacceptable from a AAA game. Hopefully this can be patched quickly. But to be honest that's the only problem I've had with the game.

    As a final note, I'd say that I'm pleasantly surprised by the lack of BS cash grab from the game. There's no season pass, no loot box, no DLC, no nothing. I've not once been prompted to pull my credit card out for any reason, and from what I could see the only things you can buy are skins for the guns (and like charms and stuff to hang from your weapon) or temporary XP boost.
    BUT, I'd say, be cautious. Activision and others have been known to wait a couple of month before rolling out the BS cash grabs in their game, so only time will tell. For now at least, I'm having a blast.
    I'll give it an 8, because of the stuttering issue and the balancing online that can be improved, even if it's already decent imo.    … Expand

    Lots of butt hurt people on here. Cry baby Russians? I don't know. Short but effective campaign. Multiplayer is a haven for campers but the slower pace and anti-camper kill streaks help lift it up.

    It's a FICTIONAL encounter, with a FICTIONAL version of Russia. Someone had to be the bad guy, since we don't have a WWIII going on. Well the Russians are making "Great neighbor's" with GERMANY at the moment. Anyway, the game is good. 8/10.

Incredible campaign, with faces old and new alike, and multiplayer that feels impossible to put down. It would be 10, but Multiplayer is still a little finicky and glitchy, like all your guns saying they're level 1 but keep all the attachments, to Cross-Plat players randomly being kicked from your party. Regardless, the boots on the ground style of this COD is a breath of fresh air and Gunsmith is probably one of the best things in a COD game so far.… Expand

Спасибо разработчикам за этот шедевр, сюжетная компания заставляет задуматься и даже в некоторых моментах прослезиться. А мультиплеер продавал своими новыми режимами, своим оружием которое можно прокачивать как хочешь и в целом классной механикой стрельбы.… Expand

    This game has the best and most realistic COD shooting yet. Story is fast-paced and intense. 2v2 mode is my favorite COD mode.

The gun customization they're showing off is 3 steps down from Black Ops 4. Ground War is a poor man's Battlefield 3, and there are only like 7 game modes. The graphics are great, except everything is brown and looks terrible. Guns sound and feel fantastic though. Overall passable Call of Duty, just because of the multiplayer.

    THE MEAT
    The Campaign-
    Ignoring the politics, I was expecting a good campaign, as we should considering the title MODERN WARFARE. Instead, you get some generic garbage campaign about some evil Russian general, who's literally just the most generic, non-intimidating douchebag bad guy I've ever seen in a video game. Captain Price is featured prominently in this game, (albeit with a new look), but again, his actions and dialogue are boring and really do not add anything to his character. All you know is that he is some elite soldier with everyone's respect. He has 0 flaws, and he guides the other characters. The other problem with Price is that he has strange facial animations. I don't know what it is, but the way his face moves when he talks throws me off. The other characters, Farrah, Alex, and Kyle are actually pretty cool but they don't really get to interact with one another. Farrah and Alex have some scenes together which are fun, but the way the story ends between them is just awful. Its awful. The big twist bad guy in the game is boring, and I really don't care about the next game. Also, the evil Russian thing is way too over the top. The Russian soldier use chemical weapons and murder women and children. Its dumb.

    Not to mention the fact that if you play on PC, if you lose internet connection for a second, it stops the campaign and forces you to go back to the desktop. In addition, there are multiple, extremely distracting graphical errors. The classic bloodstains when you take damage are there, but they flicker on and off constantly which causes this really annoying strobe effect. This happens with any effect that changes your vision, like debris after an explosion, or at one point when your character wraps a towel around their face for a disguise.

    The Co-op:
    I would love to give a solid review of this, but honestly I can't finish an entire game of co-op without the game crashing. But what I have played so far is extremely mediocre. To me, its just a beta test of the Battle Royale. You play these huge maps and run around and complete objectives. It would be more interesting if they put ANY effort into it. The environments are BLAND, there is absolutely nothing interesting about what happens. You have to do these repetitive objectives, "Kill the 5 lieutenant and hack the 3 servers" and whenever you kill the guy you hear the exact same audio clip of the bad guys over the radio **** They got another one, change the encryption" or some generic garbage like that. I can't play the Co-op survival because its not available on PC. So yeah, **** this mode, its really not worth anyone's time.

    The Multiplayer:
    Easily the best part of this game. The maps are actually kind of interesting, but the color pallet they chose for most of them is sewer, so everything is brown or tan, and its just really boring to look at. Ground War is AWFUL. Jesus, every time I played this mode I was just thinking about how much better Battlefield was at doing this. No, really. Like in battlefield, you have squads, and you can spawn on your squadmates. Also like in battlefield, they added vehicles. But there is no synergy between players like there is in Battlefield, and the 3 vehicles that are there are terrible. The tank has one cannon weapon, and the helicopter can't shoot at all. Again, poor mans battlefield. Snipers in ground war will eat your ass, especially now that they can parachute off of helicopters onto tall ass buildings.
    Gunfight is great, fun and fast paced. No complaints here, this is a great game mode and I will be playing it in the future.
    TDM is fine. The killstreaks are awesome, (minus shield turret), and the pacing is good. Guns are pretty balanced too, with a good TTK. In addition, I find that it takes kind of long to level up my weapons for some reason, and there are no presets (except for the sniper) that have a zoomed scope, so until you play for like 2 hours, you just get shredded by people with scopes.
    Search and Destroy is fun, especially with how tactical the game feels now.
    The new 6v6 mode with revives is ok, but a little convoluted.

    Whatever, this game in its current state is a 5 to 6/10 at best    … Expand

    The campaign was fun and the multiplayer is decent but the spec ops mode is astoundingly bad. There are so many glitches even after their massive patch and the difficulty of this mode is really unreasonable.

The writing was superb, but the mechanics, art, and underlying systems are really what bring the game to life.     The multiplayer gave me such a sense of nostalgia. After the beta I went back and played MW 1-3 and while good feel very dated, but not to any fault of it's own. 2019 Modern Warfare is the original series like it is in my brain. You can really tell a lot of thought went into every little aspect. I was playing a game of Ground War on the big city map and was just started walking around this large interior. I know it sounds foolish, but the commitment to model water fountains and tedious office spaces for something most players won't even notice is commendable. Maps like Azhir Cave and Gun Runner are as good as anything MW2 offered.

    I can't recommend this game enough if you liked the original Modern Warfare trilogy. It has a slightly more methodical pace, but it's a welcome change in a genre that's only been increasing speed. Don't get me wrong, those games are great in their own way. I played both BLoPs 3 and 4 extensively and really enjoyed them, but Modern Warfare offers a nice grounded approach. Not quite as Jamster as past games, while still providing plenty of opportunities to customize your character. I only hope this trend continues.    … Expand

No where does it say this game is based on true events. Its all fictional. Video games are to be played and enjoyed not picked apart for fact checking.     campaign is on a level of greatness. multi player is amazing. only complaint is some maps could have been better for sniping. completely annoyed with all the hate towards the best game since BO2.

    One of the best shooter campaigns I've ever played. Actually I dont like shooters, but CoDMW is awsome. The story is exciting and the game feels like you are really in there.
    For me currently the best shooter I know.

    This game is the best call of duty that has come out in years. There are some balance issues that need to be handled but I am sure that will happen soon. The graphics are amazing and the online is very much fun. The campaign is amazing and feels great. Story is also really good and feels real.

    Everything is upside down. Call of Duty has a better solo campaign than multiplayer after many years. We will remember a perfectly scripted war with a dense atmosphere, but we’ll forget about the unbalanced online multiplayer. [Issue#298]

    After a multiplayer-centric episode, the COD fans will be delight with the return of a nervous and strong solo campaign. Modern Warfare is back with old-fashioned gameplay that is more grounded and efficient. The generous amount of content adds some depth to one of the best chapters of the saga to date. Magic!

    Overall Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is a good title that is marred by the expectations that the Modern Warfare name brings with it. The campaign has some really stellar gameplay moments that are brought down by the mediocre plot. Multiplayer was fun but felt a bit like the competition’s output (despite there being no Battlefield release this year) which may be a turn off for some. I don’t think Modern Warfare 2019 has done anything to make me rethink waiting for substantial price drops to play Call of Duty campaigns, because clearly multiplayer is still Activision’s main focus and that’s just not where I get my kicks.
