    An update two weeks ago broke the game in Australia, giving us lag spikes like I have never seen in any game, EVER. The game is literally unplayable 3 games out of 5. I've opened multiple support tickets with Activision asking what is being done about this and when we can expect an fix and they have ignored every one.

    Call of Duty: Modern Warfare puts the franchise back where it needs to be. You get a wonderful campaign, team-oriented spec ops, and a variety of multiplayer options that cater to those who love large and small scale warfare.

    At first, I was quite surprised by the very unusual graphics. An extremely interesting story mode with a bunch of newly mechanics, but this is obvious, because story mode always has been one of the best side in this series of games.     i like this game - esp Donetsk map - just a return to native city

    i remember what russian mercenaries and soldiers made with ppl in my native city, this game is rather close to reall-life

    Don't hear the 0's reviewers. That happens when you have a negative K/D.

    The game is a big step over the last COD, new engine, new gameplay, Capt. Price is back!

    They only need to fix some small issues, like the weapons balance, etc.

    i dont understand the harsh user score that is currently at 3.2 as i write this. This latest release is exactly what i've been waiting for from a COD since xbox360 days. There are a few bugs but nothing that takes away from the actual gameplay. Lots of challenges, free DLC, looks great and feels great, co-op has plenty of options right outta the gate on release day. All 10's up in this beeyoch!

    Excellent gunplay, shooting and mechanics feel fluid and natural. The campaign is a bit questionable, but overall is the only COD campaign I've been interested in since BO2. Activision finally did something right.

The story has a good plot, (Russians as always) pretty violent stuff happens in the story and I really enjoyed the way the story played out and the mission design. (Price is badass as always) The multiplayer is really fun but lots of campers in it. (Some game modes more than others) My personal favorites are gunfight 2v2s and realismSome may disagree, but I find this a very fun game.     terrible game its broken in so many ways the microtransactions effect your in game performance hit detection is buggy and things that was in the game have been taken and placed else where im currently sat at -1700cp was -2000 been waiting 2-3 weeks for activision to fix this with no responce

    Perfect FPS everyone has been waiting for! Great graphics, gameplay and single player campaign. This game depicts the horror of war excellently; especially the part when you play as young girl trying to escape from russian soldiers. I have played 10 hours, and still have a lot to do in this game. Great buy!

    Ignore the bad reviews it’s just people that are offended by the campaign I take it. People need to realize it’s just a game. I haven’t played campaign but I have the multiplayer. It’s freaking amazing it’s more tactical and a little more slow pace which I love. 10/10

    While the campaign is certainly not better than the original Modern Warfare, it's still the best singleplayer shooter experience since Titanfall 2 and the best tech demo since Crysis.
    The multiplayer also seems to do pretty much everything right for now, giving players an enormous amount of customization and exceptional gunplay.
    We'll see how that changes, once monetization gets implemented.

The issue I have with the game is that it seems that people are pissed(with reason) about the exclusivity, which I tend to agree upon.     This game is an excellent new addition to the franchise. The campaign is one of the best in COD history and the new engine finally make COD look like a modern title. The console multiplayer is very campy. However on PC rushing is still a viable strategy.

    Been disillusioned by call of duty long while, since modern warefare 2. I've oy played the single player mode but politics aside (don't care for that crap) this game totally restores faith in the franchise. Gritty and unfiltered this represent a real step forward forward modern warefare 1 and 2. Campaign is very replayeble with great set pieces. Awesome game so far

Much of those, who wrote here about unfair attitude toward russians, just donˋt want to admit, that russian goverment with support of they nation, making horrible thing, starting war in Ukraine, Georgia, Syria.     Lets get to it, what the f*** is wrong with this game: It doesnt work, im playing on pc and having constant crashes, connection losses during both sp and mp.     It doesnt work, im playing on pc and having constant crashes, connection losses during both sp and mp.

    Game needs you to do a shader compile in order to run smoother which is a nice thing at first but with each shutdown/crash it needs you to do it again or face sudden fps drops and this takes time so you waste around 30 mins if your game crashes.

    Story is utter sh** i wont go into detals to spoil anything but there's no character progression, there's no proper motivation to do things its forced and highly scripted.

    Lets say you need to clear a house that has 4 doors to enter. You can go through only 1 you cant do anything out of the script game kills you right away and it gets boring so quick you'd be surprised.

    [NOT A SPOILER] In a mission you use a sniper rifle, you are a seasoned soldier running around the world but some **** explains you to how to use rifle, yea thanks for nothing.

    Singleplayer story has filler missions, WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?

    Now to the good parts of the game and why i gave 5:
    Multiplayer is amazing except one map, guns feel great gunplay is on point. Tacticals/nades feel nice. I suggest you to buy this game if youre only into some modern shooter but if you're an old fan of the series and want to experience new things with the old crew. Dont do that bro because this game is sh**.    … Expand

    This is a perfect game and i suggest it to everyone, fho like to shoot bad guys on the screen, not in real :)

    And it is a very good, that player can participate in most dramatic close quarters battle, which lasted more than 242 days. :)

    It's so funny to read comments from russian bots, which blame Activision is rasism, when their own TV and official media talking about how all countries that surround them are bad. I'm from Crimea, Ukraine and knew how it was, the only aggessor is russia (writing it with small letter, with no respect to their current authorities and their supporters).

    this is a solid game for call of duty. the return of the campaign is great. the low scores seem to be from Russian trolls unhappy that they have been portrayed as the bad guys we all know them to be. maybe don't poison ex nationals and annex parts of other countries while denying meddling in US elections if you dont want to be painted as bad fuys

Отличный перезапуск серии, жду переделку миссии в Чернобыле и Гоуста). Отличная графика, интересные персонажи и сюжет, крутая проработка локаций (Особенно мне как рксскому очень понравился Санкт-Петербург, знакомое местечко было подобрано), а миссии с зачисткой домов с ПНВ вообще 12/10 (RUS)

    It's a great design realistic game. Great sounds and effects. I its 9 for single player and 10 to multi-player.
    I don't understand people voting 0 because the story is against Russia. So people want a war realistic game and are expecting to kill unicorns? I get your frustration but it's a game, get over it and enjoy it. It's the best multi-player in years.

I didnt realize you had become as sensitive as the French. Go ahead, make a game that uses America as the bad guys again.....we will survive it.

This one is a pre sequal to the original CoD 4 Modern Warfare which had two sequals on it. Out of the trilogy the entire plot was Russia versus America. MW1 was based on Russian mercanaries nit the government just a man with the will to wage war, then MW2 and MW3 were based on another russian man with the will to wage war and he succeeded and made america look bad, and in MW2 the American general was shown to be a traitor and a very bad guy.… Expand

    This is exactly what COD needed (full stop).
    The gun play is amazing, we finally run at a realistic pace and not usain bolts pace, which eliminates alot of run and gun.
    No more bullet sponge to kill (finally) I think every fps fan should give this game ago...

Too many LOS to one location and some maps just have too much elevation and camping zones. The maps are made awfully too large, I feel like 6v6 wasn’t kept in mind. Footsteps are way too loud in the current game. Ground war needs more map variety but the current experience is great. In all a good game but lacks good maps which I think makes the multiplayer aspect what it is meant to be.… Expand

    This multiplayer is not perfect. Some would say it needs a lot of adjustments, but this game has only been out for a few days. To say such things would mean you'd have to already be accustomed to the game. That said, the spawns are poorly handled, the map designs favor a ton of defense, and the game lacks unique, quality modes. I will say that this is by far my favorite engine in any COD ever. Being a player of the series, the combat has never felt more polished and natural. Every single thing I can name - animations, weapons specs, perks, kill streaks, physics, recoiI, bullet speed/drop, HUD - has been expertly crafted to offer a fair and fun experience. No other FPS has surprised me with this amount of effort put in at release.

    Campaign, in short, is probably the greatest it's ever been. No longer are missions hallways where you shoot enemies until you reach cutscene after cutscene. They've implemented a NONLINEAR level design where players can choose how they kill, who they kill, and what they use to kill. You can gather equipment, strategize, and conquer anything however you go about it, as long as you do it well.
    Cutscenes and graphics go without saying, they're absolutely impeccible.

    Last but not least, my favorite mode, Special Ops. Openworld missions with sprawling layouts filled with vehicles and weapons. Compared to MW2, instead of doing things quickly and with skill, there's now periods where you can talk things out and strategize. This mode can still kick your ass, which is both frustrating and beneficial to the player. Me and my friends had a blast playing this mode, and no amount of detail can explain how it feels unless you play it for yourself.

    A great welcome to this franchise which has struggled with it's recent identity. This game could almost be considered as impactful and influential as the game it owes it's name to.

There is a few graphical problems but it should be fixed within couple of weeks. Game run average 85fps Rtx2080Ti and ryzen 2700x at max settings ultra wide screen 3440x1440 with ray tracing on so in near future can be only better. Update after reaching level 60 at MP I need to lower the score cos the MP looks like a mess. Only one thing what you can do in this game is camp and camp only. Common problem is to see other players plus bullet register is **** as well, so I wouldn't recommend to anyone who liked MP like BO4 or BO3 cos this is very different. After few updates everything what this game does is claiming some money from you is like advertising flashing board. Going back to BO4 with no regret… Expand

This time the level design has been reworked to often suit more tactical approaches to a situation, such as taking out lights to remain undetected, slowly edging open a door to get the edge in your opponents and more. I think It’s safe to say that modern warfare has some of the best mission design the series has ever seen. The story however, although interesting lacks depth and fails to flesh out its characters properly. It’s not terrible, and is far beter than the disaster that was black ops 3, but it could be better.
    Now on the multiplayer side, maps have been changed in order to prevent them from feeling far too symmetrical and they generally lean away from three lane design, contrary to recent titles, and this change is for me very welcome. A lot of people aren’t used to having to learn multiplayer maps, and are therefore quite angry about these changes but personally as a huge fan of cod 4 I absolutely love it. Well there is one or two maps that play quite badly but aside from the few exceptions it’s pretty solid. The guns all feel amazing, due to a great weapon balance and some incredible sound design, and I gotta hand it to infinity wars with the extensive gun customization system. The kill streaks in this game are also pretty powerful, and I’m very glad you have plenty of options to help you deploy them such as the perk that enables score streaks, or killchain, which allows you to use streak kills to contribute to you earning more streaks. There are also plenty of enjoyable new game modes such as realism, which strips your hud and kill confirmations, and my favorite; gunfight, which is similar to overwatch elimination where it pits to teams of 2 to finish of the other team first. I am not a fan of the new ground war though, it really feels like a cheap gimmick to steal battlefield players, and to be honest I would much rather play battlefield 4 for the large scale combat. Special ops is also plenty of fun, and it really pushes you to your limits as it is hard as hell. I would recommend playing the campaign first as it is a continuation, and any practice will come in handy. Ultimately Modern warfare is a solid first person shooter experience and scores points for its brutal campaign and its refreshing multiplayer formula.    … Expand

    Really good game, but also can we take a moment to laugh at all of the people who take this game's campaign way to seriously? When COD MW 1 and 2 released, I didn't see anyone complaining about russians being the bad guys. But of course, this is 2019 where people will cry and complain about every little thing.

    Take the time to appreciate the work that has been put into this game.

The cut scenes didn't always play smooth, there were some small hickups here and there. But overall the Single Player part is well made and for me it was a great start of this new game.

    Multiplayer.
    I haven't bought Call of Duty in the last 9 years, simply because i did not like where it was going with all the futuristic **** Finally this game is shooting again. The game plays very very smooth and the graphics/sound are great. There are many game modes, enough people playing so no long waits yet. There are plenty of maps and guns and at the moment there are no lootboxes or any other crap.

    I'm happy to say that after many many years of waiting i can finally have fun playing Call of Duty again. This game is worth my money.    … Expand

    Call of duty as it meant to be. Boots to the ground and modern day weaponry is what community asked for the last years and now we have it. One of the best shooters I have ever played and believe me I have played a lot.

    After a multiplayer-centric episode, the COD fans will be delight with the return of a nervous and strong solo campaign. Modern Warfare is back with old-fashioned gameplay that is more grounded and efficient. The generous amount of content adds some depth to one of the best chapters of the saga to date. Magic!

    Overall Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is a good title that is marred by the expectations that the Modern Warfare name brings with it. The campaign has some really stellar gameplay moments that are brought down by the mediocre plot. Multiplayer was fun but felt a bit like the competition’s output (despite there being no Battlefield release this year) which may be a turn off for some. I don’t think Modern Warfare 2019 has done anything to make me rethink waiting for substantial price drops to play Call of Duty campaigns, because clearly multiplayer is still Activision’s main focus and that’s just not where I get my kicks.
