    Extremely buggy game with zero support, money wasted. Don't buy, Haven't been able to play campaign as it's not loading, can't play multiplayer due to crashes

    Awful in every sense of the word, maps are the worst on any cod ever! Player visibility is ridiculous, time to kill is far far far to low!!! Game actively encourages camping and for the love of god don’t get me started on SBMM

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Campaign is inaccurate and is blaming Russia on war crimes that the US did (Highway Of Death). Pure US propaganda and very Russophobic. Shame on you, infinity ward. Regarding the campaign, I think they added some of the missions for shock value. Take how they have dead children in the campaign and hanging bodies. I honestly think that they want to make something like ‘No Russian’ but worse. I don’t know why. Spec ops is utterly terrible. After I finished the half ass campaign, I decided to embark on the spec ops mode. I was happy to play then when I realised that they had FOUR missions. Anyways, I then played through the missions to them realise that they are impossible to finish. And when I mean impossible, I mean 200 veteran bots rushing you and spraying at you and your team. It’s honestly broken and boring compared to other games. Multiplayer is actually pretty decent, although some scorestreaks are overpowered and should be nerfed/ removed. But honestly they need to nerf the 725, too overpowered.

    Warzone is a really fun and challenging game mode, I feel like it revived the game a little bit and gave some COD fans a reason to play. The Gulag is very fair and gives people another chance at winning the match. Overall I would give it a 6/10. If you’re a single player type of person, I strongly recommend buying a different title all together. This game is definitely not for you.    … Expand

    I expected Spec Ops to be split screen like modern warfare two. It's very annoying that multiplayer is but spec ops isn't or that there isn't any split screen offline playability.

    Camper friendly game. Nothing more or less. If you want to get shot everytime you move more then 10 meter because you want to run and gun - like you could in almost any other cod- you won't like that there is atleast one guy sitting in some camper spot aiming at an **** wall...

    Infinity Ward's and Activision's vision of defensive, wanna be tactical gameplay in Cod with the leaning mechanic that was already annoying in Cod ghosts destroys the arcade run and gun cod experience. Headglitches, safe spaces, doors, corners and recharging claymores are only some of the annoying mechanics in this game. And on top of that the sbmm ruins the already limited fun forInfinity Ward's and Activision's vision of defensive, wanna be tactical gameplay in Cod with the leaning mechanic that was already annoying in Cod ghosts destroys the arcade run and gun cod experience. And on top of that the sbmm ruins the already limited fun for old-school cod players or any casual player that just wants to run and gun like in the old days. On a certain skill lvl, every round plays exactly the same. Nobody moving, everybody camping. Especially in free for fall, most of the games end with the timelemit, the final score at the end being 10-15 out of 30 needed kills for victory (after 10mins)..
    No real perk or weapon variety, overloaded and badly designed maps that only benefit a slow and defensive play style as well as hackers occurring every 3-4 rounds in certain game modes only 6 months after release.
    In total even though the devs and publishers wanted to attract battlefield or rainbow six players, this game designed by the new IW mostly feels like an even worse Update of Cod Ghosts with Captain Price of Modern warfare of the original IW on the cover.
    Overall a total disappointment, only positives imo are graphics and sound (when it's not bugging)    … Expand

    Worst cod till now for me.Really bad balance not a single moment of fun online. Spawns are ridiculous. Too expensive for what it is especially when warzone is free. Campaign is completely bugged.

    First of all the game takes a lot of space and with all the updates it takes 4x as much space as my other games. Second of all there is no good maps in multiplayer and they all feel very average, The weapons are very unbalanced and after all these updates are still broken. Overall i'm angry that I bought this game for $60 it was a huge waste of money.… Expand

    This game is garbage, I've spent more time downloading patches than actually playing it, and guess what? Waiting for the patches was the best part.

    Gameplay is generally pretty good. But the game is plagued by regular, over-sized patches. To add insult to injury, the patching servers have been faulty for weeks (Meaning if you do get to download the patch, it is incredibly slow). And there seems to be no sign of these servers being repaired anytime soon. Good game / Bad infrastructure and support. I'd give it a miss.

    With any graphic setting combination: Shadows are pixelated and they start like moving in a weird manner like in GTA 4 and Skyrim un-patched. Borders of fences and wires are like moving in a weird manner too. I would prefer it having BO2 graphics (wich are pretty nice, no visual bugs and the performance is great) with SS-AO and some Post Processing instead of being unplayable because of the world looking completely glitched.

    And the only Aliasing options are SM-AA wich... is not perfect.

    I mean im not saying that having bad graphics make the game bad but this kind of bugged graphics is generating a visual fatigue that makes the game completely unplayable unless you are a frickin' masochist.

    Textures aren't compressed too which causes the dynamic texture system to make textures look like play-doh sometimes.

    The game just gives the impression that it was made in a crappy engine like unreal engine. The downgrade on the COD game engine just got this low to be unplayable and buggy graphically.    … Expand

    This game literally almost gets worse with every single update is over 100 gb and counting. This game alone has taken up my almost my entire storage. This wouldn’t be a huge problem if I could actually play in one of their **** servers half of the time. I have yet to talk to a person who doesn’t constantly have problems with this game. It’s absolutely ridiculous. Figure it out.

    Beaucoup trop de problème dans le jeu actuellement.. entre devoir attendre 40 minutes pour finalement trouver une partie mais que le serveur crash, les RPG et les AKIMBO clairement opé, les spawns foireux , la camp ebin... on a ici un beau tas de m****.

Thick SBMM, campers galore, awful connections, absolute worst maps, uninteresting guns, **** camos (i mean has anyone even seen the obsidian camo wtf...) and the most useless devs who dont test their game or give a **** about COD veterans and just want to spoonfeed the noobs.

Now BR (battle royale for you dumb asses out there) was not needed at all i tried it and it was ass you land you cant find **** or simply you cant even find a ****ing gun in most buildings and die already. Armor is too rare to find which shouldn't be rare to find at all since thats what you need to actually survive the gun fights. Gulag is the only thing i like about br cause it gives you another chance but who wants to go back just to get sniped by some bastard sitting on top of a building the whole game with the widest maps ive ever seen for a br game. Even pubg's maps add hills and **** so you cant get shot every time you move. In this game you sit on top of a roof where you can see the whole map and pick people off that cant even acquire a sniper cause they haven't reached a load out crate yet. The majority that win win with there load out (with a sniper) or by camping. Whats the point of having smgs and machine guns everywhere when people only use the snipers and an m4's...might as well just make those two the drops. This is without a doubt one of the most disappointing call of duty games ive ever played i honestly think i prefer Ghost than this one its that bad. Making things worse they wont remove Sbmm and just put a ranked mode for the stupid sweats i have to play against and again we get punished just for being good in a match and having to suffer 5 matches later. They also for some reason refuse to let use choose out maps because they know we hate like 80% of there maps which is sad. The only maps people would actually play are Shipment, Rust, Shoot house, Vacant, Hackney yard, and gun runner. They plan on adding old maps but we all know they are just going to ruin it with "sAfE sPaCeS" and head glitching for those campers out there. Theres nothing more to talk about other than the campaign was alright but kind of made Russians look bad but in the end of the day its just a game so people should stop getting butt hurt over that. And start caring about Infinity ward just wants our money again. They put out more gun skins and characters skins than actual content per season.… Expand

    Everything is alright but the multilayer is **** awful Maps are too big so most of the deaths and kills you'll have is because there is almost no cover to hide behind
    Also because the maps are as big as they are shotguns are **** useless And all of this just suckes the fun out of the game

    This games campaign is so anti-Russian, they say Russians bombed the highway of death even though the US did, also in a flashback mission to 1999 Russians killed the whole towns population, the town was called Haditha, in the Iraq war US marines killed 24 unarmed civilians in the town of Haditha. For some reason the devs just get war crimes committed by the US and say that it was Russia.

Genuinely not that bad a game but the camo challenges for multiplayer are ridiculously stupid, like why should you have the level an AR Upto lv69 just to unlock every camo challenger, have to get 800 kills, 100 longshots, 100 mounted kills, 50 kills shortly after reload, 150 headshots, 35 x 3 killstreak, 75 hip fire kills and that’s not even the lot, like the longshots and mounted take the absolute p**s. Infinity ward make brilliant games but you can learn a thing or two from treyarch on camos… Expand

    Worst multiplayer cod since Ghost. Camping spots up the yang. You never feel you get any better at the game. Thanks to garbage bullet registration. Greedy company implements skill based match making just to keep dopes playing and buying their boring season pass. Community manager ignores the community. Man this game is something else.

    This game doesn't have any "gray morality" area it's just a game where you commit eat crimes, don't get punished for it. And when you're not committing war crimes and getting away with it, the game blames Russia for actual war crimes committed by the US or the UK like the highway of death in Hadith, Iraq was blamed on the Russians, that is one of countless examples no less.

    Almost every Ground War game was ruined by at least 2-4 Hackers where they just simply kill the entire map, and following new game, they will still be around.

    Feeling Activision don't really care about the game anymore, they are just not banning any hackers, they have given up.

    PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. WARNING. TOO MANY HACKERS.

Literally every match except but 2 made me auto infected, because I couldn't load in the game fast enough. I am legitimately considering ending my life with my .22.     I was so hyped to play this game. I love the modern warfare series and finally it seemed like the development team was making good decisions. Now, one of the things I expected was to be able to play the **** game but I couldn't. Turns out on ps4 there's an issue where you can't download it no matter what. I paid for this game and I can't even play it.

    Campaign: Cool and interesting story, interesting missions and memorable characters

    Coop: Boring missions, dumb enemies that defeat you because of the number of soldiers and not by strategy. Worst cooperative mode ever made in call of duty history

    Multiplayer: Cool weapons, fluid movement, incredible animations, but maps are just as bad as CoD Ghosts. Advantages for campers

    Garbage maps and poor spawns ruin a potentially great multiplayer. The campaign was fun. Maps and perks encourage camping to an extent many maps are impossible to navigate. I got back into COD with Black Ops 4 and this game was a great disappointment. The lone good original map is shoot house with a few decent remakes mixed in.

The actual review starts in the multiplayer, where you will be actually spending your time and the COOP but I'll get to that later. The Multiplayer is the most bland and boring gameplay I have ever seen in my life. The fast time to kill matched with players who are so incompetent to leave a corner ruins any other entertaining or exciting play style to be used in the Multiplayer. Even casual players who want to get up and go to an objective have to deal with controller aim botting, fast ttk, and meta weapons probably even a shotgun to the face once they round a corner. If you were looking for any excitment to be had in this game mode you're looking in the wrong place if you're not willing to watch a corner and let the controller do the aiming for you. Another big part of the mulitplayer that kills it for most players including me is the SBMM. The Skill Based Match Making will be the death of the franchise because if you do good in 1 game at all you will be matched with sweaty try hards or even more people who will camp corners and not leave until their mothers come in their room to make them do chores. SBMM also connects you to higher ping servers like 70 80 sometimes 120 ping. Another note about SBMM in the game mode of warzone is it'll put you against players that have bought the game pass to try to get you to buy it because the development team intentionally makes the guns OP in the first seasons they're out and if you try to use any other gun against it you're sure to lose. Now on to the COOP. As someone who is a huge fan of the MW3 COOP and loved the survival mode I have been let down so hard it's as if my hopes were thrown off the cliff of marianas trench. The COOP is absolutely garbage. Even with improvements the game mode just isn't fun. Once again you're forced to camp in a corner in some building because of the poor design decisions made within the AI and the different types of enemies within this game mode. Let me start with survival in contrast to MW3's survival. In MW 2019 you have little chance to play this game solo. What i mean by that is I could make it to wave 30 on MW3 survival no problem but for some reason in this cod you can't make it past wave 3 or 4. The guns the AI use such as the shotgun or the AK or even the RPG will destroy you if they catch you off guard and that is mostly due to how little health you have in this game mode. You could survive being shot 100 times in MW3 survival because the game mode was supposed to be fun and they understood that some people wanted to play it solo and you can't win against a horde of enemies without having the health to compensate for it. In this cod you have probably 1 5 round burst fired at you with any automatic and you're dead. That's it. Go back to the menu and try again. Another huge difference between the 2 survival modes I'm comparing is the suicide bombers. Just wow. They sprint twords you with a bomb in their hand and even if they explode from 10 feet away you're very likely to be dealt half your entire health. That would be ok if there were maybe 2 or 4 during one wave right? Well, you would be delighted to know that there are about 20. If they get within 5 feet of you and explode you're pretty much dead. I don't know how this makes sense with the play style of camping in buildings and not having enough health to go outside and fight them because you die so quickly in this game. It's so dissapointing. In comparision, the suicide bombers from MW3 will take 1 shot and they will have about a 4 second delay before exploding, this gives the players time to run away and not be instantly killed or use the suicide bombers to their advantage. That design choice alone shows that the developers of MW3 care more about the fun of the players than making the game realistic or whatever narrative they push for MW 2019 I can't even tell you what it is other than "realistic" maybe. But onto the last thing, the "classic COOP" is actually impossible. Remember how I said you have very little health? Yeah, you have to push against about 50-100 bots, good luck. I just wanted to quickly mention that. I've played this game on and off trying to find some ounce of enjoyment of fun in any of it but I fail to do so. I wish honestly think the developers could have really delivered on this game, it had all the potential for it. But unfortunately they let greed get the better of them. With that and their stubborn ways, the future of this franchise is looking short, especially with it's newest one, Cold War. My advice to you is to just not buy this game. Save your 60 dollars and spend it on anything else. You will thank me later.… Expand

    Worst Call of Duty ever. Usually I would ramble about the problems of the game. But do I really have to? Ill save my breath. But I will recognize its not the worst game ever made. But I will keep it in the red and grant it a 4.

On the most recent patch and for many before it, I often die around corners, or as I hear the first bullet hit because of how **** the network code is Playing against consoles running at 60fps make the experience dog dooky for PC players because of this: if you try to peek a corner and go back, your hitbox will stay around that corner for twice as long in the eyes of a console player because their console updates half as fast, and because the game honors the shooters - not the shootee's - hitbox, you'll die faster than you can react, because favor is given to slower consoles. Just in general, this is a stellar graphical and gunplay experience ruined by a lot of poor multiplayer implementation decisions. Get this game off the shelves and into the garbage heap where it belongs.… Expand

    As usual and excellent graphics and great game mechanics. This game should also get special award as the most realistic game of all times, because the way they pictured russians is more than precise. The way the story depicts murder of unarmed man, women and children, lynching, mass graves and other atrocities and war crimes is precisely what is now happening in Ukraine.     Everything is upside down. Call of Duty has a better solo campaign than multiplayer after many years. We will remember a perfectly scripted war with a dense atmosphere, but we’ll forget about the unbalanced online multiplayer. [Issue#298]

    After a multiplayer-centric episode, the COD fans will be delight with the return of a nervous and strong solo campaign. Modern Warfare is back with old-fashioned gameplay that is more grounded and efficient. The generous amount of content adds some depth to one of the best chapters of the saga to date. Magic!

    Overall Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is a good title that is marred by the expectations that the Modern Warfare name brings with it. The campaign has some really stellar gameplay moments that are brought down by the mediocre plot. Multiplayer was fun but felt a bit like the competition’s output (despite there being no Battlefield release this year) which may be a turn off for some. I don’t think Modern Warfare 2019 has done anything to make me rethink waiting for substantial price drops to play Call of Duty campaigns, because clearly multiplayer is still Activision’s main focus and that’s just not where I get my kicks.
