    COD Black Ops Cold War

    Just by the name you would think this is going to be sweet. This however, is not the case for this game at all. The game looks and feels like a Counter strike port with mildly better textures. The character models are meh at best and the weapon models are just as bland. The game feels and plays like garbage.

    What is this thing even installing? Because after you go to play the campaign its like, nah you gotta download it, heres part one… that’s right part one… youll play a mission in this joke of a campaign and then its like oh you nee to download part 2 now, heres another 26gb patch ontope of the 20 you just downloaded, but it doesn’t stope there, theres another 20 gb part 3.. .thats right.. nearly 70 GB patched in for not even 4 hour long campaign. That they couldn’t just put on the disc… downloading multiplayer and zombies makes sense because its primarily online.. but a 4 hour long campaign, it’s a joke…
    I for one do understand why so many people love call of duty, its multiplayer, and thankfully its just as fun here as its ever been with all of its modes outside of team deathmatch.. that’s usually my favorite mode, but I just wasn’t feeling the maps this year in deathmatch, but I had an absolute blast anyway for hours playing that ultra addicting, spawn shoot die gameplay, and its been a hwile since ive played a call of duty game.. since ww2.. so im not sure if these things are new but I am loving the instant respawns here on the next gen.. and I also appreciate that camping snipers have a little reflection to give away their location.. ive never been a fan of zombies mode, its obviously here.. I cant fairly critique it as it just isn’t my thing… but the main reason I play a call of duty game, at least in my currently life where I don’t have the time to sink days into multiplayer is the campaign.. but thankfully I do have the fun and addictive multiplayer to play through while it takes more hours to download than it does to actually play…
    Here you play as yourself, during the cold war, and the campaign actually started with tons of promise.. I wouldn’t mind if every year we got a well told 3-4 hour long story full of amazing set pieces and a mind blowing experience to compliment the fun multiplayer, and this campaign had its moments, it felt like an interactive movie with great moments and missions, some of the best stealth missions ive ever experienced in a first person shooter, but halfway through the campaign just falls apart, it becomes generic first person shooter level design and story telling, theres even a section of the game here youre redoing the same thing like 5 times in a row… that’s how much you can tell the creative juices have evaporated after an impressive start.. I didn’t want to stop playing, but I had to to let part 2 download… such a let down…
    Call of Duty is what it is…
    You know what youre going to get every year…
    it never changes outside of the setting..and this is where the let down comes into play
    Im personaly okay with a little 4 hour journey each year, but please put a little more effort and see that effort through, especially if again,, its only going to be 4 hours… it better be solid.
    But at least you have some new maps to play with.

    Just another Call of Duty. The single player introduced a lot of new elements to the franchise that, might be amongst my top 3 CoD campaigns. Zombies and Multiplayer, simple copy paste. Would not recommend for full price.

    Why can't we have ranked play like BO2? SBMM completely ruins the games and I also struggle to see enemies on most MP maps.

    Despite trying something new, the game does not deliver on the ambition. The multiplayer is far more frustrating than previously and the gun customization has been neutered down.

    Do not buy, keep playing Modern Warfare. If you do not have Modern Warfare 2019; it will be the better option both for single and multiplayer.

    Multiplayer is just trash. Horrible lag, disconnect issues, atrocious framerate, and just overall terrible.

    Campaign is decent, until you get disconnected, or your console hard resets in the middle of a mission.

    Zombies is decent, when you don't get disconnected, and the lag is here too, although not as gamebreaking as MP.
    Just too many problems for a AAAtitle. Don't waste ypur money.

    Matchmaking seems to push and pull into matches that are way too easy then way too hard. The push and pull makes you feel a win is undeserved and a loss unfair.     It's very hard to see opponents everything just kinds of blends together visually. They must have known this was an issue since several attachments have the ability to "spot" or show an enemy nametags easier.

    Visually the game looks like the weapons and players are plastic toys. I don't know if this was apart of the 80s vibe, but it looks cheap. The fidelity is nice the guns look good, just they look like toys. The animations are okay, but the step up from MW2019 which released a year ago makes them seem "last-gen".

    The single-player story was okay, and I don't play Zombies. So the package was a real wash. The only bright side is I can use the Black Ops weapons in Warzone. So it feels like a 60 dollar battle pass for Warzone.    … Expand

    another broken game. I like using bots but that aspect of the game is broken. after each match you have to back out to main screen and go through the whole process of setting up again.

    The hell is the point of creating a casual experience and then having SBMM. At least with other MW scorestreaks were earned appropriately after stringing together 3-4 kills instead of sitting at the back of the map getting "Eliminations" by spraying and praying.

    This is the last and final entry of Treyarch CoD for me.

    Zombies has 1 mode for three months that they have put 0 additional content into with a run of the mil call of duty campaign    … Expand

    So im having some mixed feelings about this game. This is my first CoD since Black Ops 4 and even i eventually refunded that one. I initially though that i will give this game a chance, since its (again) back to the roots of BO1 and 2.

Campaign: I like playing the campaigns of shooter games and BO 1 and 2 together with Halo and Titanfall 2 are still my favorite Campaigns in the whole    So im having some mixed feelings about this game. This is my first CoD since Black Ops 4 and even i eventually refunded that one. I initially though that i will give this game a chance, since its (again) back to the roots of BO1 and 2.

    1. Campaign: I like playing the campaigns of shooter games and BO 1 and 2 together with Halo and Titanfall 2 are still my favorite Campaigns in the whole genre. This one, starts off pretty strong with some interesting ideas, though never gets with it anywhere. I think the best example would be the inflitration mission into the KGB HQ. They say "we need to get in it", so you play a KGB double agend and your mission is to get a keycard for the elevator, so can let Adler and you inside. My main problem was, we are talking about the main building in the capital of the ussr. They never explain how they even managed to get beneath that building. Second you get the sense of freedom, because there are multiple ways to get a card, but when you finish one of them, the others become unavalable and unimportant. Also there is never an aftermath. You are shooting up the KGB HQ for gods sake and there is no word about political tension or how they managed to get out of the city and country. Kind of dissapointing tbh. The mission ideas are great, but overall to short and not fulfilled.

    2. Zombies: Only one map unfortunatelly, but still incredebily fun and one of my main reasons next to the stroy , why i bought the game.

    3. Multiplayer: Oh yeah, the game had a multiplayer. I totally forgot! Jokes aside, it is pretty standard CoD, i think. Standard classes and weapons. Standard killstreaks, though these are now point streaks. I have to say compared to what i saw with the Modern Warfare remake, its quite underwhelming, since they went with a more Battlefield approach to the game, which was interesting, since it looked a little bit fresh coming out of the dead cow that is Call of Duty.

    I mean, eh, what do you expect out of the multiplayer? It has been the same for the past 15 years and will probably stay like that for the next. You can actually see that they saw what MW did and paniced, i guess, and threw in some bigger maps with vehicles. I guess it was fun the first couple rounds but i dont see myself playing for that long tbh.

    In conclusion. pretty mediocre. Campaign could have been awesome, since the great ideas where there, but the missions feel very short and the twists are not really that interesting compared to for example BO1. I already felt sick buying the game, because my money went to Activision, but i wanted to give CoD a chance since i grew up with World at War and MW. But alas, i guess thats how CoD is now. Not bad, but definitely not great either. Last CoD i will buy in the next 10 years, for sure.    … Expand

    I would give this game a 10 out of 10 but people on headsets are ruining the multiplayer. It's not fair that I have to play a team of people communicating on headsets when I play by myself. It's degrading, and trust me I'm a very skilled player, but it just sucks all the fun out of the game to always have to deal with these people rushing you 4 on one, etc. They need to put in aI would give this game a 10 out of 10 but people on headsets are ruining the multiplayer.     Worst cod mp I've ever played. Zombies and Campaign are cool tho. Mp feels like it was never meant to be any good and its so clunky. Since cod is traditionally a mp based game I'm giving 1 star because it socks so bad.

    The campaign was pretty good, but the multiplayer joining now is pure trash. I played a single game and that was enough for me to say that "Ok, I will never touch this again" Its an aidsfest, you spawn and you have airstrikes, camper snipers and grenade launcher spammers.     The singleplayer campaign is the most fun I've had in a COD game since forever. It has multiple choices and even multiple endings. They've added some "sneak style" missions to it as well.

    I've tried the multiplayer part a little bit but that, unfortunately, is just more of the same boring, repetitive FPS multiplayer crap. They should have worked on the battle royale mode from last game, giving us a soviet-inspired map and weapon system and perhaps integrated the US-Soviet conflict into it to give us something new and interesting. But nawh, its just the same old boring crap. I doubt I will even bother with it much more.

    So, in the end, your left with a very expensive, short but fairly good singleplayer campaign. Normally, that would warrant a very low score. But this is COD, and looking at it from where they have been this is indeed an improvement and I hope to see more COD where the singleplayer campaign takes the center stage. We are all tired of your boring FPS multiplayer crap - give us something we want! A good singleplayer story!    … Expand

    I tried the beta for 10 minutes and turned it off and uninstalled immediately, so you can imagine my delight after getting a 3000 series card, when I saw it's not watch dogs I'll be getting for free, its COD! So I gave the whole campaign a shot, which was a    COD is back!

    So I gave the whole campaign a shot, which was a graphical delight. Then moved on to the multiplayer and really tried liking it but nope, I know a lot of people enjoy this kind of COD experience. I'm glad they'll have fun at least.

    I'll be waiting for CODMW (2030).

I have attempted your Zombies Firebase Z Easter egg 5 times, and every time, my game freezes before I can finish. I've tried every fix from redownloading to playing solo or in a private lobby, and this continues to happen.     Worst Cod title ever, Campaign is a mess, and Multiplayer even worse. this game can get lost. Gunplay is miles behind MW. the TTK is far too long and guns are unbalanced. SBMM is a joke and the Maps are worse than the previous Black ops game. the only good thing about this is Zombies and even that is a step back with no Splitscreen.

But the PS4 version clearly does not pull the capabilities of multiplayer. What touches the single player, it's very good. I advise everyone to play on PS Plus or if later added to the Game Pass on Xbox. On PS4 Pro, the game looks pale, I advise you to still play on the current generation.… Expand

You literally cant play a zombies mode for an entire year if you arent on PS. Wether youre PS player or not we should all be able to agree that is despicable, but it gets worse: PS players also get continous bonus XP events exclusive to them as well as tokens and other things making this game a pay to win game. If im on ps and my buddy isnt, guess what I can pass his level rapidly gaining better guns with better attachments quicker all because I decided to buy on ps and he decided to buy on PC. "Poor stupid as* fan of our game, ya shoulda bought our game where we wanted you to buy it" is what im sure both Sony and Treyarch would say to that. For we live in a time when the customer doesn't come first, where a dollar here doesn't equal a dollar there, and where big selfish companies seem to forget how they got to where they were: us, their fans. This game is such a disapointment. DONT buy this garbage. Companies like these only understand lost revenue. If they can completely f*ck their fans over and we the fans just let them get away with it, of course nothing would ever change. If you like the idea of a big rich developer f*cking you right in the a*s and laughing all the way to the bank, buy Cold War.

    *edit* so my mp5 is leveling at about the same speed my character is. Im level 30 and my mp5 is 32 out of 53. So after about 16 hours of gameplay ive leveled ONE SINGLE GUN to like 2/3 of max. You have to be f**king kidding me. This basically means if you wanna level all 22 or so weapons its about on par with getting 22 prestige levels. The closest Ive ever made it to getting a 10 prestige account was MW2 got to max level 9th prestige and thats all I did all day long every day. Asking us to make it to what would be 22nd prestige is f**king ridiculous. They literally need to triple the weapon xp rate for this game to be any fun at all. How much time do they think people have to play videogames. Unless you're playing 12 hours a day 7 days a week, its gonna take just an absolutely unreasonable amount of time to even come close to maxing every gun. Cold War is a complete joke. It feels way more like a job than a game, in fact I have more fun at work than I do playing this dumpster fire of a game. Why not make the game feel more rewarding like MW was, every round in MW I felt like I was getting something out of it, quite a lot actually. This game feels SO unbearably stagnant. Like I may as well be watching paint dry. Again don't buy this game, just buy a can of paint throw it on a wall and sit there staring for 12 hours and you'll have the same experience as Cold War but for much cheaper!

    So I've been pretty harsh on this game as of now and I thought that wasn't completely fair so let me say the one really nice thing I like about Cold War and that is zombies. They've really done a good job with zombies to make it feel somewhat new and refreshing. They added permanent perks you can unlock by obtaining crystals in zombies mode. You get 1 crystal every 5 waves completed after and including wave 10 as well as 1 more(i think) for extracting successfully(which is offered the wave before you gain your next crystal). They also added upgradeable weapons seperate from their 3 tiered system for packapunch with each tier more expensive than the last. All these among some other interesting and welcome changes. But having said all that, its a lot less fun getting to wave 30 on zombies after a full hour of gameplay and primarily only using one gun and then getting like 2 weapon levels from it. A weapon level every 30 minutes is gross. It detracts from every bit of fun I had playing that last hour. Progression at a snails pace just ruins any fun you have playing this game. I stand by what I said, tripling the xp rate for weapons would make this game A LOT more fun. Im still changing my score from 0-2 because I was slightly unfair in my original review but until this game feels more like a game and less like a job I can't change it above that. I have spoken to other players in game as well as read some reddit posts about this same issue and this seems to be the consensus, progression is horribly slow in Cold War.

Always the same shot in the back multiplayer year by year with some different abilities and weapons. It’s playerbase mostly consists of the same hypebeats that play Fortnite. This franchise has declined a lot from its prime,Cod has essentially become the Madden and 2k of FPS games. Rushed out by year for the sake of money, never really anything groundbreakingly different about the game.     Cold War doesn't have great graphics, it lacks content (maps) and SBMM can make the experience frustrating, but even so, it is a fun arcade FPS game "à la" Treyarch.

In those games, it felt like a stripped down survival mode, where you need to know the game. This zombies feels so different, more like MW3 survival (that's still really good btw). Honestly, kinda feels like Zombies for newer players, which isn't bad, but when you've played other games, this one feels so different from other zombies games. Weapon tiers are SO stupid, the game feels really advanced with tons and tons of other stuff to setup/etc. TL;DR: Feels too different, you may not enjoy it if you are a previous player.    … Expand

    I really like the more realistic game that came right before this, (Modern Warfare). This game is doodoo , but fun and pretty if you just want unrealistic run and gun game play. I'll just keep playing MW.

    This game is absolutely diabolical! The campaign is atrocious with stupid puzzles! The aiming and reloading is botched! You can't reload while aiming down sights anymore which gets you killed in zombies all the time! This is by far one of the worst cod games I've played! Regret purchasing it! But never again

    This feels like an HD remaster of a 10 year old game.
    From graphics, to sound design, animations, gameplay and everything else- it feels like a downgrade in every way from Modern Warfare. Feels like bare minimum effortm. No where near a s good as Modern Warfare is.
    Skip this one, it's not worth your time, especially when Warzone exists & is free.

    First COD I have played since MW2 on the Xbox 360, terrible graphics, crap maps. Spawn, see someone shoot - die, spawn get seen without seeing someone - die. Rinse and repeat.

    Wont ever buy a COD game again, don't know what I was thinking. Wouldn't play if this was free to play, let alone paying for a triple A title 0/10

    Awful! Break when I use the touch pad to come out of the stat check mid-team deathmatch.
    Also, NO split screen for couch coop. You can do this for Black Ops3 but not for next gen PS5. Absolute joke as the rest of the gameplay is just a copy and paste.

Multiplayer is also very buggy, textures loading very slow so most of the game it's blurry and ugly. Even objects geometry takes time to load. It's just terrible. Zombies also suffer from textures popup and in addition framerate dips drastically. That's the last COD I bought. I payed forCold War on PS4 is awful. Feels like beta. An in game AI that nerfs you against crappy players or people with purchase items. Terrible netcode(as usual). Clunky controls, input delay to high heaven.     - Campaign: short but interesting for sure.
    - Multiplayer: feels very arcade, I like it.
    - Zombies: I'm in love with outbreak.

    Then, why a 6? Because you MUST be always connected, even if you are playing campaign. WTF, Activision? I constantly get online crashes playing solo in zombies! LET ME JUST PLAY!

    I bought COD for the campaign. I DO NOT like to play online. After 5h of playing I finished completely the campaign.
    Selling a 60euro game for 5h playing IS A FRAUD.

    I will NEVER buy another COD in my life and NEVER advice any friends to do that.
    I am completely disappointed by the game and the system.

Also when the host has a crash and the game does host migration the entire lobby crashes too in 8 out of 10 times. Just Unacceptable.
    And the problems with crashes also the server performance is so bad that the TTK feels often like MW. And i wouldn't recommend to buy the game at full price to anyone. The Game is unacceptable for 60/80 euro it feels like an early access game. Then the Camos look bad muddy and are just copy pasted from BO2 without optimization. Also the exp to lvl your weapon / grind attachments are so low that it takes forever to get them. And the standard multiplayer Operator need to be unlocked through missions, It's as if they put all that **** grind into the game so that you overlook it's serious lack of content.

    Then the Map visibility is just bad and enemys blend too much into the enviroment often and Cold War itself feels really like i bought a 60 euro Early Game...

    It's so ridiculous i feel ripped off so hard. And when someone comes and thinks "But it just released a few days ago" First of all you are the reason that Activision released that **** You also don't go to your stylist and pays him 50$ and he just cuts 5 strands of hair.

    Like i said i really feel ripped off and i only bought it because i liked the "Beta" (Which in fact was not a **** Beta) and i really really regret buying it.

    En el apartado técnico el juego podría ser mucho mejor, por momentos parece un DLC del Mwf ralentizado y con otras skins, Animaciones regulares, (la del lanzamiento de granadas es para darle un premio o algo) interacción con los escenario prácticamente nula, problemas de rendimientos, problemas de conexión (si, sigue habiendo partidas con gente que te ve un segundo antes aunque tenga 500Mb simétricos en 2020), etc…ya ,tampoco se molestaron ni en imitar los acentos en el doblaje como en otras entregas para ambientar, solo por estos detalles se merece mala nota.
    Si entramos a valorar que es una saga con muchos años de experiencia, cosas como que entrar 12h más tarde a jugar que otras personas me supongan casi no poder jugar y morir continuamente por no tener desbloqueado alguna ventaja y estar todo el rato resaltado en el mapa, muriendo por las rachas, o la desventaja de algún accesorio de arma a estas alturas, es ridículo y frustrante a partes iguales. No me quiero imaginar la gente que está esperando por Ps5 para jugarlo si a esta gente le dejan importar su perfil la que les espera.(Hay cross play con Ps5 y si juegas en una Ps4 juega en desventaja) Pero bueno, estas cosas a muchos no les molestan, si no puedo estar 24h jugando COD en mi casa como los Pros o comprarme un Ps5 aunque quiera porque no las hay, es mi problema, claro.
    El balanceo es incomprensible ya que a mi ayer con nivel 12 me metía en muchas partidas llenas de gente de más de 30 de nivel y cosas así También me da que pensar que si hay cross play entre Ps4 y Ps5, en Ps4 será mejor ni jugar ya. Que encima pongas las rachas por puntos para dinamizar el juego, que me parece muy bien,(es mentira da mas puntos hacer racha de muertes que tomar banderas, por ejemplo) pero se sigan usando mecánicas que en vez animar a jugar en movimiento premian que la gente se quede estática, como el sonido exagerado de los pasos (literalmente parece que van a caballo) y que encima pongas un micro que los amplifica en una zona, es la guinda del pastel. En fin, no me extiendo mas que mi tiempo también vale dinero, una retahíla de cosas, que en menos de 24h, me quitaron la ilusión por jugarlo. Si a todo esto le sumamos que el viernes no, pero ayer sábado ya había gente haciendo trampas. Pues me siento muy defraudado y con la sensación de haber tirado mi dinero. Un saludo    … Expand

    I am disappointed very bad graphics just horror for this year poor visibility in multiplayer and because of bad graphics it is not possible to distinguish the player in the texture the plot is not bad but this is only for a few hours the most important multiplayer and it is terrible

    Bad servers, bad netcode and full of hackers. Campaign was fine. Keep seeing intrusive ads for this on Modern Warfare which is 100x better than this turd of a game. Ironically has more campers than Modern Warfare especially in Nuketown.

    It gets a 1 because the graphics, but the balancing in this game is just ass. It pairs you with much better players than players on your level, So skillbased matchmaking has ruined cod forever for me. It's just not fun. Bring it back to mw2/black ops 1/2 era..

    Fun is just non existent in this game.

    Feels like it was released way too early. No Cod has ever felt so bad, I've played them all and never had any big issues, but this is just abysmal. Riddled with issues. Glad they did a free week on Zombies, saved me £60!

    Single player - The plot and characters are almost as ridiculous as Addler’s sunglasses.
    Multiplayer - More of the same. This hasn’t changed for about thirteen years (except warzone of course).
    Zombies - Hard to get wrong. Blends the best bits of COD zombie gameplay from over the years into a really fun game mode.

    Better than garbage modern warfare, I haven't seen a good story in cod for a long time, but this game surprised me, there is a great story with new mechanics that is interesting to play.
    Multiplayer is the same unfinished, but you need to wait for patches, I hope treyarch will not **** up the game.

    Refund the game to make Blizzard, Activision understand that this isnt on.

    Pressing the Options button freezes the screen in zombie mode and I have had the same problem over and over again. It does not come back from there, it is necessary to turn it off and on. also when you come back you cannot join the same game

I disconnected my Ps4 from the internet and fired the game back up (as I was only interested in its campaign) and I had still was forced to agree to allow all my private information be stolen from me. I played a couple matches on Modern Warfare but I was always left feeling really disappointed, mainly with the bland maps and layouts. With Cold War, I find myself enjoying the maps thoroughly, with even the worst maps still being enjoyable. Maps such as The Pines and the updated Miami (Miami Strike) are welcome additions. Killing someone in one area of The Pines then running through the hallways to shoot another is exciting. Miami Strike is an improved Miami, in a smaller space that enables fighting. I have to say that the map that didn’t land for me at all was Satellite, and even then I still find enjoyment while playing on it. We see the return of incredible maps as well such as Nuketown (in the form of Nuketown ‘84) which makes me more interested in playing previous instalments. There are many incredible game modes to play on these maps as well, including a personal favourite: Search And Destroy. Every game feels new and exciting, while allowing me to consistently improve. The main reason I didn’t give this game a 10/10 however, is the fact that the game often freezes and lags, even when my internet connection is perfect. It does often get in the way of fully enjoying the game to it’s potential. This game was an excellent introduction into the world of Call Of Duty for me, making me excited for future games in the franchise.    … Expand

I have an average of 80 mb connection yet my player is gun has been jumping around and spiralling in circles. I get an average of two games per night where this doesn't happen. Pitiful map pool no launch, terrible hit registration for PC, crazy OP and generally broken aim assist.     The zombie mode is amazing, the campaign is fairly okay. The multi-player is infuriating due to this **** SBMM. CoD MW 2019 has a far supperior MP.
    Unless you wanna pay 60$ for a zombie mode, don't buy this game

Que si que el modern warfare eel multijugador es malo pero el de este juego es insufrible de verdad sin decir que cuesta 80 dolares.
    Coclusion le ruego porfavor, porfavor se los pido no se lo comrpren porque se van a pasar la campaña y lo van a dejar de jugar.

This happened in the campaign after the helicopter scene in Vietnam and also on an escort multi-player map. So those two aspects are completely unplayable Unfortunately. The zombies is the only game mode I can play which is why I gave it a 3. Zombies is pretty good for the majority of it. We'll see what happens with new maps and potential bug fixes. But for now it sits at a 3.

    For the controller issue I did try multiple other games to see if there is an issue with my PS4 and this is the only game I have this issue with. Controller disconnects and cannot reconnect until I turn off the console. Shame.    … Expand

    Jestem fanem serii black ops i grałem w każdą część i uważam że ta jest najgorsza i w dodatku nie ma nawet co porównywać z modern warfare 2019, bo mw jest o 1000 razy lepszy

    Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War ends up mirroring what the Call of Duty franchise offered last year, with some new additions that are also welcome, especially for long-term fans. While being set during a very intense period, the campaign ends up erring for its disappointing longevity, even though the value of repetition is intrinsic to it. Zombies are back in style, while multiplayer gains an excellent new mode, but here it errs again for the arsenal's lack of variety.

    While Cold War is a part of a series I would have said that I loved, I can’t fully embrace it now knowing that this work is trucking in harmful stereotypes via patriotic-tinged gameplay. A decent CoD multiplayer experience will likely emerge from the currently-underwhelming Cold War, but I’m going to seriously consider whether that gameplay is worth enduring (and supporting) the rest.
