    Activision should have never rushed this game out. This is embarrassing. The campaign and zombies is good, so I give a point for that but multiplayer is a joke. Worst CoD multiplayer I’ve played. Skill based matchmaking needs to go to. Just make a ranked and casual mode.

    Zombie mode is amazing, multiplayer too, good that you can turn off enemy/team health bar. Its annoying, story is cool, well, i like it

    Most of the reviews are misleading. Most reviews say the graphics are bad and look like an xbox 360 game. That is obviously false if you look at gameplay. Most reviews mention OP weapons even though thats in every cod. This game is good but cod fans are blinded by nostalgia and think every little thing must be perfect or it's a 0

    An other dump game. Activision is **** there are a lot of bugs,graphics and story are very bad like usually! Money goes to CEO kottick not for the developpement of the game, it's a shame. Don't give your money for this **** !

    There are some problems. Now these things will probably be fixed soon, but here we go. Zombies feels like it was made by infinity ward. It feels like they took the simplicity of black ops 1 and mashed it with infinite warfare. Gameplay feels untreyarch like. There's hitmarkers, you don't get points for injuring zombies but only for killing them, and create a class. Also, the Gallo, (a 1250There are some problems. Now these things will probably be fixed soon, but here we go. Zombies feels like it was made by infinity ward. There's hitmarkers, you don't get points for injuring zombies but only for killing them, and create a class. Also, the Gallo, (a 1250 wall buy), feels like a wonder weapon. The knife with one pap is vaiable until ROUND 20. And the Ray Gun, while it is rare, is absolutely filthy. Multiplayer has issues as well. You can see your enemy's hp, which doesn't feel right. The mp5 is broken just like mw. Time to kill is like bo4, with the stim regenerating your health in an instant, making kills feel sluggish. The thing that was done the dirtiest was quickscoping though. The Pellington is slow, and gets hitmarkers like there's no tomorrow. Why? Why are modern cods so afraid of quickscoping? While these flaws seem numerous and huge, they should be patched soon, or else this game is gonna crash and burn. Another thing: this game was originally developed by sledgehammer, but then activison gave them the boot and had treyarch finish the development. So, any core gameplay issues could be a result of sledgehammer's doing. So while this game has some issues, Treyarch should patch them soon and the others are probably due to sledgehammer developing most of this game. We shouldn't judge it too harshly, but hopefully things turn upwards.… Expand

    This game is an absolute blast, with a gripping campaign, awesome multiplayer with a wide weapon selection, and overall my favourite zombies they ever made.     Really great hated MW and just wanted it to get back to the good stuff! Well it has snappy satisfying gunplay, great story decent multiplayer for the first time in years. Great job!

    Great campain but short, amazing zmobies mode which you can play for longs hours. Multiplayer is lacking a content, but we got a nuketown last week and we are going to get at least three new maps on december 10!

    Complete trash just like modern warfare last year. Its all about 3 lanes and funneling through the choke points, cant climb on objects that are waste high, no sniping spots. Its literally APEX but on COD.garbage. Returned after 2 hours and got $27 credit. Do not waste your money. COD is dead.

    The gunfights are a always coin flip, decided by one of Activision's patents. The game an absolute nightmare to play. It's made to make you feel cheated and depressed.     Me hace gràcia los que le poneis un 3 o un 0 porque no lo aveis jugado dais pena criticar sin argumento es verdad que el juego es muy mejorable y que el sistema de emparejamiento es una basura en el multijugador pero tener en cuenta que trabajar con covid es muy complicado

The campaign is pretty boring and there is no weapon customization at all sadly, but you have a hq....idk why even put a hq if I can't hear up before a mission. Also on the ps4 there is a terrible bug that bricks your controller. It won't work or even respond to anything unless you turn off the system. Zombies are fun tho.     As 6v6 MP only player I considered MW 2019 absolutely the worst CoD ever created. It had terrible maps with too many angles, terrible doors, infinite claymores with restock, no dead silence perk, TTK too fast, camping spots(even remastered maps were ruined with them), strong SBMM in casual playlist, washed out    My whole review is only about MP, I never play anything else in CoD...

It was like game itself decided if I kill or die.

    The last thing I ever wanted from CoD series is realism - the only reason I buy CoD is that it's casual fast paced arcady shooter, so I consider Cold War being huge improvement(to me every single CoD is masterpiece compared to last year MW). It's fast paced, maps are better(but not perfect), perks are more balanced, TTK is little bit slower(but still quite fast), there is just 1 land mine with long CD, game actually has some colors, camping is not the only way to play and it can be countered. It's CoD again and not Insurgency clone made for CoD haters and realism seekers. First 10 hours I had flawless experience - it reminded me times of BO1 and BO2 which are my most favorite CoD games. I wanted to go for 8+ rating but then thick skill based matchmaking kicked in and it ruined my experience with game little bit(and little bit more). Hard campers and sweats started to often fill my lobbies again(but at least whole game is not designed only for them). There should be casual playlist with weak or none SBMM and ranked with this kind of SBMM with ranks and extra rewards. Also on some maps there are flashing textures(sand on Satelite, mountains on Cartel). This was not happening on beta. There are also small bugs here and there like unlockable calling cards are not saved when you pick them. Another problem is lack of 6v6 maps on release so for now its like 6.5/10 for me untill everything is fixed. After that and when they add more maps it would be like 7.5/10. If they add also ranked and nerf SBMM in casual playlist I would go even for 8.5/10 easily. No performance problems at all on my side, runs exactly as MW (i7-7700k+1080Ti), 80-100 fps 1440p maxed out(tested MP only)

    EDIT: Changed rating from 7 to 2 just because of SBMM... It's not objective but I just can't do this anymore. I like game itself in general (much more than MW) but I absolutely refuse to sweat each and every single game to my maximum potential just to keep 1,2+ k/d in CASUAL playlist. I am not ranked player in any game - I HATE e-sport and ranked tryhard-meta trend, only reason I was playing COD was because it's casual MP game and it's not anymore. Game offers absolutely no choice in this matter, no ranked vs quick match playlist, there is only ranked without rank. Burn in hell for ruining this casual MP series and otherwise good game with system like this. I hope at least Battlefield will never give up on completly random server list system... I always liked COD more but this is just unbearable. Game itself decide who and when will do well or terrible in each match, not player skill. You had 2 good matches? Bad for you, next 2 you will be annihilated... You suck in 2 matches? Well, here is your candy - you will be rewarded with some easy game next. This is not even multiplayer, it's just singleplayer with adaptive difficulty with players carefully picked instead of bots.    … Expand

    Amazingly fun! Best Multiplayer since COD: Advanced Warfare. The weapon's are fun and the gameplay feels very realistic. Although the campaign may not be the most memorable in the series, it's the closest thing you could come to a James Bond game in 2021 with nice 80th vibes. Overall, i enjoyed this game way more than I thought I would.

    Thats how the game intrigued me! About multiplayer : it's a little not done. Short on maps and gear but the gameplay tho is fast paced very great looking and works real great!     SBMM robs the multi-player of any fun if the poor hitreg and broken mp5 don't get you first. I love Black ops but this is not a finished game movement is clunky at best and aiming... well ya just point a shoot maybe you'll get hit markers but most likely not..     Gotta admit this game had a rough start, but just over a month in and it’s already in a far more polished state.     MULTIPLAYER: most of the guns are actually good as well with the attachments, so there’s lots of variety, also i honestly think all the maps are good some maps may be worse on some modes but they’re still very good there also may not be that many but at least it’s not like modern warfare we’re only shipment and shoot house played so map design is much better than modern warfare. Sure the game plays more arcady but as long as it’s more fun that’s all you should really care about.

    ZOMBIES: The zombies has a bunch of new mechanics that can be enjoyable for casual an And zombie fans with tons of new gameplay mechanics including still trees and different kinds of upgrades and more things like rarities are new to the zombies experience.    … Expand

It’s literally straining my eyes, my eyes start throbbing like I got stung by a wasp with the swine flue in my cornias. I can’t see anything, a headglitching nerd 40 meters away is literally invisible because there are 3 pixels on the screen. And no, ur not missing ur 3D glasses, the game does not look loke that because it’s 3D. It’s just disposable waste. This game lacks detail. The guns look so blocky and plastic, They might as well have taken models from roblox. The dev team is garbage, they all need to be sentenced to running on a hamster wheel until they drop into a faceplant and get rapidly spun around in circles until they puke up their mcdonalds sausage buscuits for this nonsense. The maps are trash and huge. I literally sprint around for 3 minutes straight looking behind every crevice, pre-aiming and bunny hopping through every door finding nobody because theses maps are the size of College Universities, only to get drop shotted in the butt hole by a bolt action sniper who spawned 3 feet behind me because the spawns are diabolical. The game is literally cheating. My aim get thrown around nerds when I try to get them in my sights like they have a fricken force field. My bullets go straight through these dweebs like they are fricking tobi from naruto. I’m literally shooting these nerds in their heads putting shotgun barrels up their nostrils and the bullets go straight through them and I get beamed. Skill based match making makes it to where if you so much as go positve, you get thrown into lobbies full of nothing but unkempt neckbead mouse and keyboard draculas who haven’t seen the sun in 3 months using their giant stack of empty ubereats pizza boxes as a gaming chair and smelling like shIIIIIIIIIITE! Why is scump in my lobby? This is terrible. The streak system blows it takes damn near a nuke in past cods to get a weak choppy in this one. Gotta go a whole match without dying basically to get a choppy only to get how many kills with it? That’s right... none.     What happened bud. Auto aim for console is practically an aim bot. Maps are fine but spawn killing is already outrageous. Guns are overall fine as long as you’re not fighting a team of mp5-ers. I’m not a game critic but I’m more disappointed in this than I was mw. Feels like a 60 dollar zombies game

    The campaign is the best of any of the Call of Duty or Battlefield games I've played since Black Ops 1. The story is somewhat interesting, the characters are cool, and the weapons and mechanics are strong. The levels are still linear, though more complex and involved than many of the past iterations of these COD games.

    Multiplayer is the bread and butter here and this game does it exceptionally well. The gun mechanics are crisp and snappy, and they look authentic. Gameplay mechanics are excellent and fast. Other shooters feel sluggish by comparison. You have a wealth of gun attachments to choose from, and the interface actually tells you how each attachment changes the stats of your gun specifically. If you enjoy playing fast, you can increase your sprint speed, sprint-out speed, aim-down-sight time and movement speed noticeably. If you're a defensive-wiz or a sniper, you can kit out for accuracy and precision, while sacrificing your mobility.

    There's also a solid set of maps to choose from, with variety in their layouts--Nuketown, Mall, Sanatorium, Checkmate and Raid are my personal favorites. The maps are generally more straight-forward than Cod Modern Warfare--as your not able to use verticality nearly as much--but they're still enjoyable.

    I generally stick to Domination, Team Deathmatch, Kill Confirmed and Hardpoint, and enjoy Nuketown so much that most of my time is spent on the mode Nuketown 24/7. However, there are multiple other enjoyable multiplayer modes--Fireteam, VIP Escort and Control are all a lot of fun, and all very different from your typical deathmatch-style fight.

    I don't play zombies very much, but it seemed cool when I tried it and I know a lot of people really love this side of multiplayer.

    You're also able to track your progress and stats with a wealth of information in the barracks tab. And you can generally enjoy multiplayer without ever having to buy anything besides the seasons pass. There's bragging-rights incentives, as you can earn various banners and emblems by completing challenges.

    Now to the downsides.

    1. Skill-based matchmaking. Enough people complain about this that I feel I don't need to spend too much time on it. I don't hate it as much as many do, however, I do yearn to go back to a world where I can play casually, and not have to exhaust myself with sweaty-level effort every time I enter a match.

    2. The variety in weapons. The list of guns is fewer than Cod Mw, and so many work almost identically to one another. The constant nerfing/buffing adjustments in the updaes results in a tepid mix of firearms, eliminating the meta, but also the interesting mix of strategies that players will employ when faced with a set of very different tools. Often the guns they buff aren't bad at all, they just require more-skilled players to use effectively. And by making them easier to use, and more like the other weapons, you're removing one of the most enjoyable parts of this mode--mastering certain weapons and certain play styles.

    3. The scoring isn't great. Often, you'll play the objective far more than anyone else--say doubling or tripling the next guy on your teams' time in hardpoint only to finish in 4th place.

    Overall, it's a very good shooter with a B- campaign and a B+ multiplayer experience. It could use some more weapon variety to keep the game interesting, but it's definitely worth picking up.    … Expand

Now, there are collectibles in the mission, which allow you to unlock new side missions, which can influenceCAMPAIGN: This is amazing, I actually enjoy this game so much. The only issue I have is the dead bodies have no dismemberment or bullet holes after being shot, but that is fine when the gunplay makes up for it. This campaign is incredibly memorable, and I love it. Much better than any of the previous games such as WWII, and arguably better than the new Modern Warfare as well. They also removed that useless weapon mounting option, thank goodness!

    MULTIPLAYER: The gun play, shooting, and map design is typical call of duty, but what is special, is the large-scale battle maps where you can commandeer tanks, mortar, bikes, snowmobiles, and other vehicles. This gives it a more battlefield vibe, and it works perfectly. Amazing gun play, gun sound effects and the overall feeling is great. The execution animations are a little long, but its amazing!

    ZOMBIES: This zombies is less outrageous, and more based upon the scare factor, like the old Call of Duty games. Maps aren't as extravagant, and you will find yourself in dark hallways every once in a while, but its definitely good. This zombies depends upon whether you enjoyed the COD BO3 type of Zombies, or the old school nostalgic COD World at War zombies mode. Overall, buy this game. My friends and I have tried more than 10 times in the last hour to play zombies together and have never been able to start without one person getting kicked. This game is terrible

    Zombies is by far some of the most fun I've had since BO3 zombies, which is to say it's great, albeit the initial bugs are rough and numbers could use tweaking with the armor system drop rates in late rounds.
    (soloing the Easter egg was tough but I beat it and trust me, it's worth a try for any zombies enthusiast. I absolutely loved multiplayer. Though the game is currently lacking maps, that will probably be fulfilled soon. I also immediately fell in love with sniping in this game, and many other guns run great as well, and balancing can be fixed if one or two guns are too strong or too weak, but I think every weapon has its own strength, and adding the opportunity for everyone to have a shotgun is actually pretty fair and offers everyone the same capabilities in close range. Overall I think the movement feels great and plays similar to BO3 but with a new faster sprint in place of jumping high with jetpacks. Right now, my only complaints are that leveling up is insanely slow on weapons, there are only a few maps (which can be good because you only have to learn a few at a time), and the amount of bugs still in game, but all of these things will likely change or improve over time with new season releases and everyone working to point out bugs. Overall, this game is probably just rated bad like every other game was because everyone has the "new COD bad" mindset every year. It's like how everyone said shadows of evil was a bad map at BO3's launch, but now almost any avid zombies player would have said its easily A tier or S tier. I love this game and it feels nostalgic while also feeling like a new COD.    … Expand

    DO NOT BUY !! 2019’s cod MW is far superior in every way. Get it instead. Cold war feels like a bad arcade shooter, the maps suck weapon damage sucks graphics are terrible. After taking 10 year break from cod (because they all started to be the same) I was super excited when 2019’s cod came out and it was a true return to form albeit with a few changes coldwar fails in every way !

    Weapons sound amazing. The game is very realistic. The only thing that is even a remote annoyance is the time-to-kill. Besides that, the game is amazing. It is very similar to Modern Warfare 2019. But, the time-to-kill can discourage campers, so that problem is solved. Honestly, you’d be crazy not to get the game. It is that good.

    Brilliant campaign, very replayable zombies mode and a decent start to the multiplayer mode.

    Campaign is slightly on the shorter end and multiplayer could use some better maps going forward but that's nothing that can't be fixed with the large amount of free content that is planned for the games life cycle
    I'm excited to see where the game goes in the future.

    11/10 The campaign is perfect with cool references from OG Black ops especially the Desperate Measures mission it just imerses you like you are the KGB spy.Multiplayer is solid but we should let some time it will develop.Zombies are good too can't wait to see what is next map about. And one last sentence to the new players this game

    Super fun game. Back to black ops 1 feel. Amazing all around. I’ve had so much fun playing this compares to modern warfare, hopefully they don’t run from this style. Realistic isn’t for everyone.

    Zombies is good which is surprising for me because i am not normally a fan, the campaign is short but also quite good.

    Multiplayer is where the game is a let down, visually it seems very poor quality compared to modern warfare and the connections seem very inconsistent with constant lag and connection interrupted.     There are some strange class options also with no option of claymores or betty's on lethal but instead being a field upgrade which makes them unusable until you have earned them. Then there's the footsteps in the game which are so loud everyone must be wearing lead boots which means you have to use ninja or be heard from outer space.

    I appreciate that Cold war has been put out during unprecedented circumstances but the multiplayer doesn't have the normal black ops quality feel about it, overall the multiplayer is disappointing.    … Expand

    Solo he jugado la campaña. La experimentacion que hace el juego en el tramo final es muy sorprendente. Sin embargo, el juego es incapaz de sostener la barra tan alto como el mismo la sube con ese giro.

    I try to find match in multiplayer, and it joins lobby and looks like it's loading map, but then I get kicked back to the main multiplayer screen, sometimes with a "lost connection to host" or other error message. ISSUE IS NOT WITH MY INTERNET, as every other online game I have (including modern warfare multiplayer) work without any issues.     Horrible game, easily one of the worst I’ve ever played. Unfinished, had lots of potential but rushed time plan to release and lazy/uncreative team ruined it. Worst multiplayer I’ve ever played.

    Easily the worst call of duty I’ve ever played. Bad balancing. Bad gameplay. Inconsistent as crap (I melee someone 4 times, not dead; I get hit 2 times, I’m dead)

    SBMM is the worst thing to be in a game like this. And I’m always thrown in matches where my team is down by 100. It makes no sense.

    DO NOT BUY. If you’re considering it, just don’t. I made the mistake of falling into black ops nostalgia trap and I have many regrets. Game is atrocious. Graphics are awful. Game feels choppy. Player speed and time to kill waaaaayyyy too high, allowing smgs to absolutely dominate the game. Movement feels buggy and off. You run and screen makes it feel like a weird gallop. Most maps color schemes and lighting are so bad everyone blends in allowing corner camping pricks to rack up undeserving kills. And yet again we’ve got even more head glitches in this game. God I miss the old days when it was a straight up gunfight, best aim wins. Now it’s whoever has better head glitch and holds angles better. How to fix the game: Scrap it, refund everyone and say we’ll try again next year. But seriously: Lower time to kill by 15% Lower player speed by 15% Make better maps (cough cough mw2 esque)
    Fix weapon xp leveling Better attachments namely sights for guns Get rid of or at least lower volume significantly on the annoying and honestly childish grunt noises characters make when climbing or mantling objects

    There’s more but seriously this game just isn’t worth your time or money. If I could stop my old self from buying this game, I definitely would. Heed my warning you will not enjoy this game. It is a huge step back in the wrong direction. Almost would take jetpacking over this game.    … Expand

    Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War ends up mirroring what the Call of Duty franchise offered last year, with some new additions that are also welcome, especially for long-term fans. While being set during a very intense period, the campaign ends up erring for its disappointing longevity, even though the value of repetition is intrinsic to it. Zombies are back in style, while multiplayer gains an excellent new mode, but here it errs again for the arsenal's lack of variety.

    While Cold War is a part of a series I would have said that I loved, I can’t fully embrace it now knowing that this work is trucking in harmful stereotypes via patriotic-tinged gameplay. A decent CoD multiplayer experience will likely emerge from the currently-underwhelming Cold War, but I’m going to seriously consider whether that gameplay is worth enduring (and supporting) the rest.
