Oct 29, 2018Call of Cthulhu is the Cthulhu RPG I never realized I needed in my life. From the moment the atmosphere shifted upon entry to Darkwater, I was hooked. The Cthulhu mythology is presented with obvious appreciation for the source material, crafting a story of cosmic horror and the cults being crazy enough to worship those beings. Aside from some difficulty with sneaking, the game makes the descent into madness... fun? Can one have fun when descending into madness?

Oct 30, 2018Call of Cthulhu, although held back by a poor visual presentation, is nonetheless a great game which will be greatly enjoyed by Lovecraft fans.
-
Oct 29, 2018Call of Cthulhu weaves a supernatural detective tale that’s frequently unsettling, occasionally horrifying and always engaging.
-
Nov 1, 2018This is a very entertaining game using the Cthulhu universe very well, but both visually and when it comes to depth, it could be so much better.
-
Oct 30, 2018Call of Cthulhu suffers from a slow opening, but those who can make it deeper will find a satisfying horror mystery with plenty of twists and turns.
-
Oct 30, 2018If the devs had simply dropped the skill points and let players freely explore at their own pace, it would have been a better experience. It’s still a good one, though, and a required play for anyone with even the slightest interest in the mythos that inspired it. Ratin

Oct 30, 2018What started off as a story that seemed to plod along quickly escalated and kept me hooked from start to finish. Despite its technical hiccups, there’s almost a certain charm to the way game looks and sounds, and those goofy animations at moments, and almost cheesy voice acting from some characters only help it further.

Oct 30, 2018Call of Cthulhu is a good third action RPG, based on the stories of H. P. Lovecraft. It is neither perfect nor deep, but it remains a pleasant adventure.
-
Oct 30, 2018An adventure that will be enjoyed by H.P. Lovecraft's fans with a good setting but certain lack of action/puzzles making its story its strongest weapon to chain you to its desperation abyss.

Nov 6, 2018Cyanide’s back and it’s brought a Call of Cthulhu game based on the old pen n’ paper tabletop RPG. Walk around, investigate things, sometimes hide from stuff, and guess that you need one of several daggers to slash a painting to stop a monster....It’s an odd little one, this. Getting a mixed reception, but I personally dug it.

Oct 31, 2018There are a lot of games I’d call good but not interesting. I’d rather play the interesting ones. "Recommending" Call of Cthulhu a strange proposition. The kind of person who'll be interested knows it. Experiences like this call to you, as if beckoning from a forgotten city beneath the waves.

Oct 30, 2018Very atmospheric game. For lovers of creativity Lovecraft the most it. The graphics are not at an ideal level, but for me this is not the main thing.
