    This game lacks the passion of greats like BFBC, BF3 & 4 and Vietnam, etc. I gave this a zero for how the fanbase was attacked by the Publisher and Dice.     Boring. More of the same from DICE. No risks taken, just boring and milk toast. Not to mention the awful politics you get pushed on you the entire time. My grandfather sacrificed so much in his service fighting this war. When he came home he couldn't enjoy going hunting with his son for fear of flashbacks. It makes me sad to see him cut out of his own story and replaced with some NorwegianBoring. More of the same from DICE. No risks taken, just boring and milk toast. And I'm not even talking about this whole "robotic females" fiasco. I'm talking about "Norwegian heavy water facility sabotage" - the operation which literally prevented Nazi Germany from developing a nuclear weapon . In REAL history Allies lost ~40 brave men in sequence of operations and only succeed to destroy the facility during Operation Gunnerside, where 5 actual commandos (none of which were females) destroyed the entire inventory of "heavy water" . Instead , in this game, a single independent, brave , EDUCATED girl does this in one go... Pathetic.
    The multiplayer is buggy chaos and not enjoyable at all with this "squad" mechanics.
    The only good thing in this game is graphics - its still same BF1 , but hey BF1 still looks good.

    I was really surprised with a negative ratings at the beginning. I decided to buy it by myself and then check this out. SO! I didn't know that 1 woman can actually kill over 50 nazis. I didn't know that there are WAY more african frenchmen than real frenchmen (white ofc). I didn't know that russians were like.. in this game we don't have russians. OH, WHAT A PITY. The combat, though similar of course to BF1, actually feels way less satisfying and fun. The aesthetic of the games character models and art styles in certain areas is just baffling to me. They really missed the mark with the whole overall presentation of this game. It's a shame because I typically really enjoy Battlefield games. It's also buggy and has a disappointing amount of content in terms of maps, diversity of maps, game modes, etc. Pass on this one and hope that Dice gets its sh** together for the next entry in the series.… Expand

    This game sucks. It took all of the good mechanics of a game like Battlefield 4 and stripped them down to make this a casual game. Team play is completely destroyed and progression has been removed even more so than it was in Battlefield 1 which was already too casual and lacking in progression. This game's only strong point is the tighter gunplay than BF1, though that's a really low bar to set. It has decent gunplay but all the vehicles have been sort of removed from the game. You never really see more than one tank or plane ever. This game has increasingly become call of duty with more players. It's a s***show of pew-pew-ing. This game is a crappy excuse for a shell of a Battlefield game and you should just get BF4 or some other game instead.… Expand

A lot of game mode are bad because the map design has 0 sense. UI and HUD are terrible and not user friendly, Plus we have a lot of bugs and is cleary an unfinished product. Im sorry not realistic at all. What happened to the large npc supporters? This was very sad and the multiplayer is worse than COD WWII. Thats saying something bad there folks. I'll be sticking with RDR2 and COD BO4.I've played much better games than this. Heck even SW battlefront 2 is better than this. With BF5 I am insulted by an EA Executive making millions because as a long time fan I hate the very odd design choices. I then play hrs of said beta to prove myself wrong, but leave horrified. This is not the fifth part of the Battlefield series - this is DLC to Battlefield 1. There are plenty of options in this quartal and the best is this which allows you to show a middle finger to patrick sutherland and hole ea scums. Cheers motherf.....s!

    This game had the full potential to be an epic game, but it made all the wrong decisions for all the wrong reasons. Company Greed and PC detroyed the WW2 setting beyond recognition. This is so very tragic.

    This game is as bad as it gets. It's by far the buggiest, laggiest game I've ever played. If they ever want to get a bigger player database, they should focus on fixing the bugs, game breaking or not. Anyway, in this state, it is not worth full price.

    Completely average in every possible way. I'd recommend saving your money and sticking to an older title that still has a player base, plenty of Black friday deals I'd reckon.
    This is not Battlefield anymore, it's a reskinned Battlefront but some how a less fun game. Even COD is better than this game. Hell overwatch is more fun. Wait for sale or buy something else that is reviewed better.

    I’m not a hardcore gamer, but I’m a big fan of a series since Bad Company. I’m ready for any setting they can offer, and I was completely blown away by BF1 - because it was bold, brave and epic. It was in interesting contrast to BF3, and BF4 (which I also loved) and it was made with great love and attention to details... And BF5 is the    It’s not a real Battlefield. Don’t buy it.

    I’m not a hardcore gamer, but I’m a big fan of a series since Bad Company. I’m ready for any setting they can offer, and I was completely blown away by BF1 - because it was bold, brave and epic. It was in interesting contrast to BF3, and BF4 (which I also loved) and it was made with great love and attention to details...

    And BF5 is the opposite to this. It looks as if it is made in a hurry, for cheap, and like an answer to Fortnite, PUBG, Overwatch, SJW, meetoo and what else do they have now... And ALL OF THIS it is not Battlefield.

    Here are some “Highlights”:

    1. I don’t know how it’s possible, but on PS4 Pro graphics feels WORSE then in BF1. I’m sure that technical level of the engine is more advanced, but the use of it is just plain “basic”.
    2. You don’t get an epic true war history feeling. Everything is brief and simple. It looks like a BF1 for poor.
    3. There are women dying and screaming in agony all around you all the time. Maybe someone enjoys it, but I’m not a big fan of that. And that is not historically true - so what is it for? For fun?
    4. In BF1 operations if you win - you move forward, you loose - you try again and probably fail. In BF5 operations IT DOES NOT MATTER IF YOU WIN OR LOOSE, you advance anyway. And if you are defending, even if you win - you retreat. What the hell?
    5. Lot’s of bugs now: can’t deploy, menu items are not visible, the round does not finish, etc. Yes, again.
    6. They want us to customize our soldiers now, and hopefully even pay for it. That is the focus of the game now. Not the content.
    7. Even though they have removed all the insane face paintings and mechanical arms, the game remained the same - a bit crazy chaotic action just like it is popular among younger auditory now. Maybe they should’ve kept the arms, it would’ve been at least complete in some way.
    8. On the other hand, people who played beta (I didn’t), said that it was too slow. So they added more speed in a final release...

    As a result, trying to please everyone, it’s neither an authentic Battlefield game, nor a simple modern fun multiplayer shooter. All this popular gimmicks just don’t fit into a Battlefield concept.

    I was waiting for this game even after poor announcement and negative beta feedback. But now, as I have played it myself, I can tell - it’s just a plain failure.

    It is a game made to earn money, just because they had to release a Battlefield title this year. So it feels like a cheap limited DLC to BF1, made by some secondary team, while THE REAL NEXT BATTLEFIELD is in the works. Which, I believe, will be a true great game again.

Sure they weren't in every battle depicted in the game, but neither were some of the uniforms, or vehicles, or guns, and most of the real life battles played out wildly different. It's a **** game, people need to chill out and find something else in their life to be passionate about that's not escapism and political anger.

    On to the review.

    Background:
    I have played BF4, BF1, and was unemployed during the BFV beta (so I got to level 30). So far I've played 8 hours of BFV Deluxe release which came out yesterday. As you all know the real release is next week, so there are still quite a few bugs and it's not the true launch yet.

    Cons:

    - The UI SUCKS.
    Here it's kind of the same style as BF1, except BF1 didn't have so many customization options. So expand that crappy UI for more complex dynamics and you get the idea.

    - No Spotting.
    Spotting was what made BF1 so accessible and not frustrating. Nobody likes dying from an enemy they can't see, or having to squint while looking around the place. BF1 was great in that you always had a pretty good idea where the enemies were, and could then more easily identify them. There's a bit more frustration here that takes away from the fun.

    - The Planes SUCK.
    Planes can’t spot, and they need to resupply bombs every time they make a run in BFV. You’ll miss your bombing run because you can’t spot, and then spend a

    - Bugs.
    So many bugs at launch. Some times you get texture pop in, there are bugs in the UI, just a lot of little random stuff they'll be scrambling to fix in time for the big launch next week. Nothing game breaking though-- except my tank did get stuck in a house wall (happens in BF1 sometimes too). Feels pretty unpolished though and I would be SURPRISED if there are not a lot of bad/neutral reviews soon from real players complaining about the bugs.

    Pros:

    - Art Style and Graphics.
    The game makes BF1 look like a PS3 game. In my opinion BF1 was the best looking shooter ever until this came out. The art style is so cool-- though it is a bit more colorful and like an "Advanced Wars" version of WW2 as opposed to the grittiness of the BF1 color palette. Overall really nice and fun to be in.

    - New Mechanics.
    Lying on your back is cool. The fortifications? Super cool. They add such an element of strategy, and change the battlefield dynamics of choke points and where to expect enemies. I love attrition too (needing to resupply ammo and health). It forces you to slow down and think about what you’re going to do next, which makes the battlefield a lot more dynamic.

    - Destruction.
    BF1 destruction was awesome, but sometimes you could “see the strings”. Here you can't tell at all, it looks and feels so realistic! Things break in unique ways every time, very immersive.

    - Game Modes.
    I used to play COD only for TD and Domination— here every single mode is awesome and there are a lot of them. You need to try Frontlines. No throwaway crap like COD’s “Gridiron” game.

    Overall:
    It simply feels like what I loved so much about COD MW, MW2, and World at War. Those were the heyday of online shooting games (for console), and it recaptures a lot of that magic for me with bigger maps and cover, now plus nice graphics and destruction! It’s the exact antithesis to “laser tag” shooters like the newer Call of Duty games that cater to “run and gun” simpletons. At this point it’s a rare type of game and the only kind like it on console. If you loved old school online shooters, you’ll find something to love here.    … Expand

The user interface and menus can be confusing, convoluted and tedious when just trying to do simple things. They even over complicated some of the menus, especially the ingame ones relating to customizing your loadout. The few maps that they do have are horrible. They lack the essence of maps in other battlefield games, whether it be giving definitive sections for tank and infantry combat, or encouraging combined arms combat. I can't say that I truly loved a map in all of the game. That coupled with the attrition mechanics made the maps so frustrating and tedious that I just don't want to play on them. The guns are frustrating at best, because some of the mechanics in the game actively work against them. Like the heavy machine guns: with the heave machine guns you cannot aim down sites without deploying the bipod, and standing, crouching, or laying essentially completely still. Not only was there many times were I could not deploy the bipod because of glitchy terrain and surfaces, but standing still is a death sentence because of the amount of snipers in the game. Because of the removal of the suppression mechanic in the game, it made the hmg pretty much useless. Gameplay like this facilitated by poor map design leads to a completely underwhelming experience that made me drop the game after a few weeks. I want to pick the game back up, but I just can't, because I am not motivated to. Also if you're in it for the war stories, you should look elsewhere for that. The problems with the war stories can be summarized by saying that they were historically inaccurate, dull and uninspired in the gameplay, lackluster characters and stories and lacking diversity and content. First, one of the main problems that I had with the campaign was that it was largely inaccurate to facilitate their social justice narratives. In two of the stories the combatants that participated in the conflicts that were supposed to be depicted in the story, where not even in the story. For the Nordlys campaign (snow one with the chick, which had the worst breach of historical accuracy) the actual Norwegian commandos who carried out the operation were not shown in the story except for at the beginning where we get to see their corpses. Its just sad that they said that we would get to see untold stories, and instead of showing us interesting and accurate stories they decided to rewrite history to focus on an agenda. They made it seem like a single woman saved the whole world by successfully carrying out this operation. That got me so interested in what actually happened, that I did some research and found out that she was never even a part of it. Its disappointing that dice decided to stoop to this level to fill their social agenda, instead of doing some actual digging and coming up with an interesting story about a woman combatant that would have been fun to play. Instead they just rewrote history so that they could have a lazy ass "untold story". So if I had to sum up my time with this game, it would be that there is no part of this game that does better than any of its predecessors and if you are looking for a battlefield game I would recommend any other battlefield game over this one.… Expand

    Короче это очередная сказка про то как американские "союзнички" "воевали" с немцами. При том в DICE до сих пор уверены, что вторая мировая война шла в африке, норвегии, на западе франции, да где угодно кроме СССР. Ребята, если не знаете, то 95% всех боёв этой войны проходили на территории СССР и восточной европы, при этом практически без прямого участия этих самых стран"союзников". Но сказка на то и сказка.
    В сюжете идет прямое унижение солдат вермахта. Их уничтожают просто взглядом. Самая унизительная для немцев история называется "Аврова". В ней 20и летняя девочка, 160 см ростом и весом в 50 кг, уничтожает собственноручно, ну наверное батальон фашистов. И нет, не из снайперской винтовки или минируя жд пути, а тупо из пулемётов, автоматов и т. д. Немцы показаны тупыми имбецылами, не способными противостоять девчонке не физически не умственно. Позор.
    Я честно не знал, что в армии франции воевали сплошь жители африканских колоний, которые по знанию французского языка Мольера за пояс заткнут. А ещё я узнал, что французские нeгpы это самые добрые, отзывчивые и романтичные существа на Земле.
    Полный маразм.
    Да, если кто не знал, то по мнению DICE, в разведчики-диверсанты берут только слабоумных дебилов, после отсидки в тюрьме.
    Не обошлось и без истории за нацистов. "Союзники" сейчас вроде как. Но их предусмотрительно усадили в танк и стрелять заставили по машинам. Никаких живописных убийств солдат американцев не будет, а зря. Да, за эту миссию даже ачивку не дают!
    Все четыре истории это легенды "суперсолдат" которые уничтожают как цыплят немецкий рейх. Полный отстой. И ведь это не какой то Wolfenstein, где всё подаётся с юмором и мистикой. В Battlefield V всё это дерьмо рассказывается как исторические материалы
    Теперь о самой игре.
    Загрузки. Загрузки по 3 минуты, тупые монологи по 5-7 минут которые нельзя перемотать. DICE зачем всё это.
    Короче, после юморных Battlefield: Bad Company 1 и 2, после шикарной Battlefield 3, после глупой, но развесёлой Battlefield 1, мы получили лживую, тупую, не интересную историю западных "солдат". Историю которую не дают даже перемотать. Промывка мозгов, унижение немецкого народа (да нацисты были осуждены, но это не делает их тупыми хомячками), преувеличение значения западных войск в событиях второй мировой, для меня Великой Отечественной Войне, вот, что такое "сюжет" Battlefield V!

    Amazing game but it is the most frustrating beginner experience that I've ever seen, the playerbase is so far-on that it feels near utterly hopeless quite a lot of the time. Highly immersive shooter with good hitboxes which makes CoD and Warzone seem like they aren't in real time. But the frustration develops more and more even though it is a good game

    As my first battlefield game I really enjoyed. I was always into Cod but stopped since MW 2019 sbmm and bf5 went into ps plus and I tried it out and really liked it a lot. The campaign was not very good but I am really liking the multiplayer. It is really getting me excited for the next battlefield especially if it is a good game to the battlefield community because i know bf5 wasn't

The narrative story driven campaign is absolutely remarkable, the 64 player Multiplayer is fantastic, and the all new battle royale mode Firestorm allows a new player experience like never before seen in a Battlefield franchise. The game has improved dramatically since BF1 and it has truly shown throughout this game, theBattlefield V is truly in my opinion immersive, extremely immersive. The narrative story driven campaign is absolutely remarkable, the 64 player Multiplayer is fantastic, and the all new battle royale mode Firestorm allows a new player experience like never before seen in a Battlefield franchise. The game has improved dramatically since BF1 and it has truly shown throughout this game, the weaponary, the vehicles and the characters spare a very good resemblance to previous Battlefield franchises such as Battlefield 1942. This game feels just like a remake of this and EA DICE has executed this perfectly. When i first started playing the game, my first impressions were pretty good. I played BF1 quite lot and when i went to BF5, i really felt like i went from WW1 to WW2, and that feeling was soo good. When i first started playing the game, my first impressions were pretty good. I played BF1 quite lot and when i went to BF5, i really felt like i went from WW1 to WW2, and that feeling was soo good. Sadly, it is one of few good feeling i had with this game. Before i started playing multiplayer, i finished singleplayer which felt pretty meh. Stories felt uninspired and they really focused too much on stealth. I didn't had much interest in main characters and didn't felt much towards them. Now the multiplayer. Dice has made some improvements that lacked in BF1. For example, spotting flare is now fair, every medic can revive you and heal you, every support has repair tool and ammo, being in squad is now much fun and dependable and the thing i like the most in BF5 and wish is in the BF1, the level of customization. You can customize your weapon how ever you want, it can have lower recoil or better hip fire, faster reload speed or movement speed while ads... These are the few things i like about BF5, but sadly, there are a lot more that i dislike. To start first, the bad visibility and ability to become one with environment on some maps like twisted steel. It happens very often to get shot by i person who i would never see if not for death cam. Sometimes when i shoot the enemy, i lose him because his player skin is very similar to what's behind him, tho. this is mostly due to me being blind like mole rat, but still, not fun. 2nd thing i hate most in BF5 is it's TTK/TTD. For some reason, i really feel like i die faster than i can kill somebody. I know it's me being bad, but sometimes it takes me 1 magazine to take out one enemy, but then comes other guy from 3 kilometers away from me and all he does is one short burst and BAM, i am dead. Sometimes, i don't even have time to react, and this barely ever happened to me in BF1. Maps in BF5 are also meh. There are 19 maps in the game, BF1 had 29. Those 19 maps can make game less interesting over time. They look graphicly beautiful, some of them are really big, but lots of them feel like they are missing something, and i have no idea what exactly. It's like, they have open parts, but when someone starts shooting at you, 4/10 times you will be able to find a place to hide from gunfire. Some maps include parts where planes spawn directly on the ground, and they need time to fly of the ground. In theory, it's pretty cool, but in practice it leads to toxic experience where some noob will spent entire round waiting for plane to spawn and then blowing it up with bazooka and getting cheap kill. Talking about planes, they are one of the most annoying things in the game, being able to clear entire objectives from infantry giving great reward to those who know how to use them. Not even tanks are safe from them cause some planes are able one shot heavy tanks like tiger on full health, and even if they miss you, they can just go back to plane station and rearm themselves and return to kill you, and you can't do anything about it, unless you pick Anti aircraft tanks, but then you won't be able to do anything against other tanks. But to be fair, infantry players have pretty strong weapons that can also one shot planes. Few more things that i don't like is Dice's decision to remove ability to spot players manually and switch team. You can now spot players by suppressing them or spotting them with gadgets and i can understand why they did that, but i can't understand why they removed team switch. BF5, just like every other multiplayer FPS, has microtransactions that are pretty similar to fortnite. Some hate it, but i personally really like it. You can buy stuff with BF coings which are something similar to fortnite V Bucks. You can buy them, or even get them by grinding and doing some small weekly missions, and when you complete them, you get 100 of those coins, which is barely anything. With those coins, you can choose what do you want to buy, and there are no loot boxes. For me, this is pretty fair and i have nothing against it. You don't any advantage from buying anything from store, things there are purely cosmetic. Overall, i am not having much fun in this game, and i am sad for that. I really try hard to be good at this game, but i just can't. In BF1 i can easily get 20 kill when i am playing casual or even joking around, but in BF5, i really need to start thinking what am i doing to have 20/9 kd. Sometimes it's hard to believe this game is AAA, after 2 years since it launched, it still had bugs that affect the gameplay, tho. it is rare to see your game crash, but it can still happend. If you want to by this game, i would not recommend you to, unless it's price is bellow 5 dollars. It's really a disappointment, specially not seeing eastern front.… Expand

    Then I get into a game. And with 60 ping I still manage to rubberband something unlike anything I've experienced before. You glitch through walls, you catch on EVERYTHING you run by, and server lag is next level bad. You die around corners so often.

    Balance is another trash aspect of this game. Sniper rifles are nerfed into the ground, while people can quite literally snipe people with assault rifles or even LMGs, and planes can bomb spawns before you even have time to scatter.

    EA is undoubtedly going to patch much of this within the coming months, but that's my problem. They shouldn't have to. People pay hard earned dollars for a game that is not complete, and it's not good.

    Shame on EA. Enjoy my 60 dollar donation, as I can't refund because it has a 24 hour maximum and I'm at about 28 since purchase. If I could, I'd get my money back from your trashcan organization.

    First, this game is not purchasing when EA is smacking onto the face of customer and ranting about not purchasing it but as a true battlefield player I tried to play it but this game is a not 100% not worth upgrade over battlefield 1 or even 4.

    If someone is completely new to the series then they may not experience the gunfight mechanism to be bad but when comparing it Battlefield 3, 4 and 1, this is not a step forward but a big leap behind.
    Battlefield 4 had so many issues like camping and pay to win or even premium pass out of which battlefield 1 solved the camping somewhat but introduced some other bugs now this game tried to solve those issues but ended with producing more anti-fun gameplay.
    If you can get this game for under $10 then and only then you should spend on it otherwise grab battlefield 1 if you want to try battlefield series or play Rainbow six siege.    … Expand

    In many ways, Battlefield V feels like a big step backwards for the franchise. The campaign is boring and frustrating, multiplayer is unbalanced, and bugs keep popping up in every mode to ruin the experience. The fortification system is a good shakeup, but the good it brings is tempered by the cumbersome and murky Grand Operations. With some patches, balance changes and bug squashing, BFV could be a fantastic game, but at the moment, this soldier needs to go back to basic training.
