    As a video game, battlefield 5 is a good game. Just as good as any of the other BF games. I'm giving the game a 5 because of EAs blatant disrespect to their fans and their obvious political agenda. Being progressive is great, but don't change history to include women in rolls they didn't participate in.

    Plusses: Graphics, sound design, and gameplay in general is great, just as good as    As a video game, battlefield 5 is a good game. Just as good as any of the other BF games.     Draw-back: Still lots of bugs, not a ton of content on launch with only two factions and not a ton of weapons and equipment to choose from, campaign is very short and the stories are uninteresting and are historically inaccurate (a woman did not stop the Germans from developing nukes on skis, complete misrepresentation of a huge historical event).

    Overall it's a good game, I just really hate EAs political agenda, I recommend avoiding this game because of the politics.    … Expand

    Bad Marketing release aside, this is actually a very good game. Combat feels skill based and not as grenade spammy as BF1.
    Customisation is good and not over the top. Its a joy to pilot a Spitfire and roll over enemies in a Panzer tank. To all the people wanting to know where the USA/USSR/Japan are- they're probably coming in DLC's Keep your hats    Some of these reviews make me laugh...

    EDIT - After seeing all the 0 reviews by BOTS or people who havent played the game I raise my score from 7 to 9, I am having a blast with this game, they now have dedicated game mode servers for Frontlines etc,

    I have played every battlefield since BC2, this would be my 2nd favourite behind BF3. I tend to look at a game firstly through the 'is it fun' aspect, this is a fun game to play, the core mechanics are very solid, the guns feel weighty, the movement is decent maybe slightly too easy to get stuck on small objects.

    The single player mode is short but I enjoyed the French mission, does anyone buy BF games for the single player anyway?

    The multiplayer is short of a few maps but they will be adding more through the tides of war service, which is free. I know some people are saying they should have delayed until March so more content would be available, but we live in a right now world.

    I loved frontline from BF1 but to play it here you have to join an infantry focused server which rotates death match and domination, both not my cup of team.

    The multiplayer game is well balanced in my opinion, with each class having its place, spotting has been drastically scaled back, so flanking is much improved, the game has a more skill based tactical feel to it over BF1, Planes and Tanks feel powerful but not overpowered, this may change as people rank up and get very good at them. Not once (yet) have I been killed and didn't deserve it in some way. The better player will do better in this game. Thankfully there is way less explosive spam in this game over BF1, well so far anyway.

    Overall I am impressed with this game, the customisation is very in depth and the core mechanic are very good. Needs more maps and dedicated game type servers though.    … Expand

    Overall the game is realy fun and makes important changes to spotting. The game does need a few maajor fixes such as being insta killed by an AA gun before you can jump. Dispite the bugs my friends and i are having alot of fun with the game and cant wait for the coming content

I'm really not sure what happened to to the DICE art department, when anything that's not a scanned object/texture from real life is incredibly poor by comparison to previous titles.     "Brainstorm to the next level !"

    I got into this game mainly because of Firestorm. But as I got the full I played through the other modes as well, Campaign and MP or as I like to call it, std. MP. I'm not that much of an MP guy and I mainly play TDM, so all I have to say about the std MP is that it is fun to me as I'm not really that much into it. About the Campaign, well, I saw a lot    "Brainstorm to the next level !"

I'm not that much of an MP guy and I mainly play TDM, so all I have to say about the std MP is that it is fun to me as I'm not really that much into it. About the Campaign, well, I saw a lot of complaints about cover art featuring a woman so I went to the Campaign expecting it would be a single story where I'd play as a woman in a WW II setting. Actually it's different from that. It is divided into 4 main stories which are independent of each otherand each featuring its own protagonist and guess, it's like only one of those stories, or rather war stories, feature a woman as a main character and the lady is actually convincing at least to me as a fighter. The Campaign is also a bit different from what I was accostumed, now it's like a little bit open world in some of the missions and you may use vehicles to traverse the area, and some of the missions themselves can be approached in more than one way which for me is a little bit of a sandbox added to it. Overall, an enjoyable Campaign, like for me that got it just for Firestorm and take that as almost like a bonus. Now slight spoilers, in one of those war stories you get to play as a Nazi, but as these stories seem to be based in reality you already know how it ends. But well, not sure which is worse , playing as a Nazi or play a game where Nazis have won WW II, your choice here. But the Nazi you get to play as is a rather good one. Now, before this ends up as a TLDR, if that hasn't already happened, let me finally talk just a little about Firestorm, the reason of me coming here.
    They won me in the early videos featuring the Ring of Fire, I thought it was really cool, and felt like I had to play the game just for that, I didn't want to to just look on the web I wanted to see it for myself, and now I have seen it as this mode released a few hours ago. What I have to say about it is that it's stunning, it looks very convincing and blends really well with this type of game. Now , looking back at the other BR games out there if you compare the Ring of Fire with what I'd call the "unsafe" zones in the other games, they look to me as afterthoughts compared to the Ring of Fire.This is the best "unsafe" zone I've seen in a BR game to date. I'm still early hours with Firestorm but so far I'd say it delivered my expectations and it's worth it just for the Ring of Fire. I don't know about other places but in my region this game is currently on sale for half the price so you get Firestorm and as I like to say the std MP and the SP, so it's like a 3-in-1 package.
    Now the only thing that might be like a downside to me so far is the water, like when you dive. And so, the inevitable comparison comes out this or Blackout? Well, the Collapse is not as strong as the Ring of Fire, but the water in Blackout just looks gorgeous. I'd even dare to say that it looks actually better than real water! And so, we come to the whole point of videogames, to deliver experiences that surpass those we can have in real life. Wow, that's deep, maybe even philosophical, I'm sounding like an inventive Dev, but let me tell you the truth, I'm no creative Dev, not even an indie one, I'm just a Modder, but a rather happy one as I always said long ago ... truly am :-)
    So, I guess the choice between Firestorm and Blackout comes down to choosing water or fire ...

    So there you have it, sorry for the TLDR text. And remember, the sale goes until tomorrow, enjoy the game.

    Update: Now having played Firestorm a little bit more, but still not much, I have to say that the exterior of the Ring looks so Hellish like some people describe it and like Apocalypse that it wouldn't be like a place one would like to find him/herself in. However, interestingly, the visual, the look of the Firestorm is so appealing that I often find myself tempted to enter it even if it's like a quick peek. Truly tempting.

    Update 2: Since the launch I've been doing nothing else but Firestorming. Today marks V Day since I started. From the text above I suppose it is apparent that my first impression of Firestorm was very good. And now, having spent more time with the game I'd like to add that I had a blast over the past week. I feel that I like the game more now than in launch day. Also, I think they bring new things to the already established BR formula. The most notable being the "massive" Firewall. Also nice are the destructible buildings and the artillery strikes. And there is more, but I won't details beyond that. Lastly, they extended the sale of this game, now it'll be live until next week (April 3rd, I think), so ... hurry! I want to keep playing it, but I probably go back to my backlog for now and try to divide my time between them. Nice game overall.    … Expand

    Gun play feels fresh again, lesser players will get their kills, compared to bf1 this is in a whole new ballpark .
    Yes the trickle release of content is weird but at least it's not hidden behind a pass of sorts. The one big issue i have with BFV are the micro-transactions, not the worst in the industry but still not a fan.

    Amazing multiplayer experience. Guns and classes are balanced. The immerssion is just perfect. You really feel the chaos and the stress of the battle in a very realistic way. I pretty recommend it.

    I would give this a 7 or 8 but the ratings need all the help they can get. The game really is pretty good. These users are just too whiny and need something to b*tch about, and jump on the closest bandwagon possible. It is a good installment in the battlefield franchise.     One of the bests Battlefield games. The multiplayer and gameplay is very fun. The tactical conquest maps are great and strategic conquest maps are mid. And finally you can customise your sex, gender, haircut and clothes!

    As someone who disliked everything about Battlefield 1 I was entering Battlefield V with low expectations but after playing Conquest and Grand Operations this is the first time i have actually enjoyed a Battlefield Multiplayer. I have enjoyed using every gun and every single one of the maps are great a few exceptions of some that could be improved on. Battlefield V has the potential to beAs someone who disliked everything about Battlefield 1 I was entering Battlefield V with low expectations but after playing Conquest and Grand Operations this is the first time i have actually enjoyed a Battlefield Multiplayer. Now multiplayer, let's get down to the mode people actually buy this game for. Yes there are women, yes there are minorities (but not in the Axis unlike CoD WW2, but yeah sure DICE is evil revisionist history). Despite the massive marketing flubs that EA/DICE made this is the most fun I've had with a battlefield title in a while. The gunplay is smooth and we are getting plenty of new weapons, yes some of them made appearances in BF1 but they all feel different. I waiting to write this review until Tides of War started, there are some bug issues but DICE is doing an amazing job of communicating with the community about what they are doing and when to expect patches. As far as Tides of War goes it is fun, it gives you custom cosmetics, new weapons and outfits, dog tags, emblems and all sorts of stuff, it also gives you some interesting challenges that can help you broaden your play style. I paid $100 CAD for the deluxe, with the sale that's on now I say buy it! You are going to get a ton of game play out of the most solid shooter experience dice has put out in a while.

    Live service - did it release with all intended content for the life of the game? No, instead we get a roadmap for content and we are looking at additional game modes, weapons, factions, locations and vehicles over the course of the games lifespan. DICE has done a great job of being engaging with the community and transparent in what we can expect and when we can expect it and it looks like this game is going to have a great future.

    If you are offended that there are women and minorities, if that is what bothers you the most about this game, honestly the community right now is the best state I've seen a battlefield community in in a while (on PS4) and we're probably better off without you.    … Expand

    I couldn't care less about "controversy", the gun play in this game is the best the Battlefield series has had since BF3. The customisation is an amazing step up in complexity compared to previous titles.

    The Game is Really Great.
    Despite historical inaccuracy in the campaign, the game is really Great. Multiplayer is a lot of fun, so I do recommend it.

    People is just hating the game because of all the controversy but the game is good, 0 and 1 point reviews with no reason. The game is very challenging, there is no granade spam(BF1), an now there is no Rambo shotgun killer, the game is more tactical. The vehicles are no longer all powerful, your real skill will keep you alive.

    This is my first Battlefield after many many years of COD. I basically bought this to support the "Tides of War Model" of content release, in hopes other similar types of games (COD) would adopt the free post launch content model over season passes. With all that being said, I've been hooked since day one, the gun play is awesome and addictive. Yes there are some glitches here and there,This is my first Battlefield after many many years of COD. I feel like this game is getting unfairly rated as almost no one is taking into account that more guns, factions, maps and war stories will be released over the coming months and year as part of the game, that means there will be no split player base and you can put down the game for a period of time and come back to it with new content and challenges waiting. I'm not even going to comment on how stupid the "sjw" claims are, you're purchasing a mass marketed VIDEO GAME.… Expand

BFV is a tremendously fun experience, and in my estimation has advanced in many ways from the excellent BF1. The attrition system and fortifications have made attacking points a far more tactical experience, requiring teamplay, and actual smart use of positioning and flanking, rather that the mindlessDon’t listen to all the puffed up outrage regarding this game, it’s completely overblown. BFV is a tremendously fun experience, and in my estimation has advanced in many ways from the excellent BF1.     This game is awesome if you like PvP action on multiplayer. You will love the graphics and the gameplay.
    If you play campaign and want a ww2 simulator this game is not for you.

    great game with a better combat system better than cod ww2 but thing people get mad is that is it is not historically accurate. If its on a game system do honestly think it will be historically accurate is meant to be fun not historically accurate.

    I was converted to the battlefield scene with Battlefield 1, and i played the game a ridiculous amount of hours. And was primarily a scout, and I loved it. I am an EA access member and have played several hours since November 9th. Achieving almost max rank in this time. But Battlefield V has made the scout class nearly impossible to play, it has helped alot with the addition of the selfI was converted to the battlefield scene with Battlefield 1, and i played the game a ridiculous amount of hours. And was primarily a scout, and I loved it. I am an EA access member and have played several hours since November 9th. Achieving almost max rank in this time. But Battlefield V has made the scout class nearly impossible to play, it has helped alot with the addition of the self loading rifles but there is nearly no advantages to using a bolt action rifle. There is no one shot kill to the body with any sniper and the headshot hit box is very difficult to land head shots consistently. I am sick and tired of being countersniped by the Gewer 43, LMGs and MGs, as I will pop out, hit a quick shot and get lasered immediately. Even at long, long range these guns seem to perform better as it often is just a contest of who can sling the most lead down range. Since there really isnt any penalty of getting hit as they can just heal up because as i said before it is very difficult to hit a head shot. To top this off the bolt actions have to scope out to reload the action, this gives the enemy time to just spam fire you and laser you. IMO if the devs arent going to add a one shot to the body, they need to add a flinch mechanic, because i dont think anyone is going to take a monster 7.62x57mm bullet to the chest and keep launching bullets down range without any penalty to their accuracy. And while i know video games arent designed to be super realistic and lifelike, as you could make many arguments of games not being realistic but this is just something that needs to be added to balance the classes. It seems like every engagement is the same, sniper is taking fire, lays a nice body shot, only to be lasered while scoping out, reloading the action, and scoping back in to deliver the kill shot. This could also be solved by making a straight pull option when choosing your weapon specializations, which is a action that does not require you to scope out to reload the action. This makes it very hard, as BF5 pushes snipers to play very aggressively, but gives it no tools to play this type of style. I just would love to see the scout class gain some ground in gun play, because as of now the Scout class is at such a disadvantage.

    Very good game, many improvements over BF1 and love the scenery and style. Such a great experience. The story could be a bit longer, but i am still a huge fan of the hero stories.

    I am not quite sure where all this hate for the game is coming from players. There seems to be a hangup on historical inaccuracies which one finds incredibly hypocritical as the series has not been known for this in quite some time.     EDIT: Since playing this game for close to 40 hrs I have to confirm many of the other complaints and dropped my review from a 7 to a 5. The multiplayer maps are very limiting, and some are just plain bad. There are certain maps where the snow and dynamic lighting make it so you cannot even read the HUD on screen. Additionally, the class selection and weaponry is incredibly limited. I usually main a medic which I have reached level 20 in, and the fact that the only weapons I can select are SMGs with varying degrees of fire rate are incredibly disappointing. Sure I can slap on an ugly camo, but that is not enough regarding variety. Also, I am running into some significant bugs with actually reviving people, which is the same button as picking up their gear. Numerous time you pick up their weapon, they die, and cannot locate the original loadout to be gunned down in the process.    … Expand

The new attrition system and faster time to kill makes it so everyone has to work together to assault a position, and I’ve noticed that teammates revive each other more often then previous titles, and work together more often. Vehicle combat is a lot of fun as well, if you are really good you can help turn a match around for your team, but you really have to watch for enemies because it’s a lot easier for them to take you out.

    Is it perfect? unfortunately it isn’t, it has glitches some very minor some I’ve had to close and restart the game but nothing as bad as Battlefield 4’s launch. It also feels like we got less content with this Battlefield, and unfortunately we didn’t get all of the new interesting mechanics at launch like dragging a teammate when they are down, or the co-op mode, and firestorm but I don’t know about you, but I was going to put most of my time into multiplayer anyway. The single player campaign is actually the only thing that I find extremely disappointing, It’s to short and out of the 3 campaigns available, I only enjoyed 2 of them. Although the 2 I enjoyed were really interesting with some cool mechanics like the skiing mission, but unfortunately they where both to short which is really disappointing. Although we don’t play Battlefield games for the campaign so it’s not to big a deal and hopefully they will do more with tides of war.

    Can/will it get better? With DICE track record I am 99% sure it will get better, what we have right now is still pretty dang great and most of the problems can be fixed, and the possibility of what they could do and what they already plan to implement it could end up being the best Battlefield game to date

    Should I wait? It depends if your like me and love playing Battlefield and have been playing for years then it’s definitely worth getting it now it may not be perfect but it’s still a fun Battlefield game and if you’re new to Battlefield then you could probably wait a couple weeks or for a sale.

    I’d also like to add please ignore the 0 reviews or really any of the really low negative reviews, a lot of those reviews are from people that clearly have not played the game, or are just plain trolls. so please don’t listen to them.    … Expand

    This game is genuinely the best Battlefield game I've played. It feels great, guns are fun, classes are fun, tanks aren't stupidly hard to kill, snipers can be dealt with - they have really improved pretty much every thing that was un-fun in previous Battlefields.
    This "SJW" nonsense needs to stop, an unfortunately very vocal minority that need to go back to the dank caves they crawled out of.

    The game its short on content for the moment and buggy, but it does not deserve 0 or 1. A real score for it will be an 8 , but i will give it a 10 just to compensate with the nonsense 0's an 1's . Please dont trust them. The game its good and its going to be even better soon.

    If you like online shooters this is worth your investment in both $$$ and time spent playing.

    Great game with new mechanics improving the immersion to WW2. Hopefully we will see a good amount of extra content in the future as currently it is a bit lacking. Adding female soldiers to a WW2 game was a questionable choice.

My initial review of the negative reviews of this game (after filtering out people that don't actually own the game and are just posting negativity) seem to be in one of two categories of hating, hate on the inclusion of other races and genders other than white men and hate on the "lack of outfits and weapons". I'm not going to get too far into the why does it matter if you can play as a woman, asian, or black person but I really don't think this that big of a deal. Also weapons have specialization trees that you can work through after leveling them to upgrade and customize the weapon itself so even though there are limited number of weapons you can specialize them which creates unique weapons for each player, which to me effectively offset the initial lack of weapons.

    There are a decent number of maps and I like what they did with the weapon specializations creating a more customized play for each class. So far I see a lot of really upset people freaking out, hating, and bashing the franchise for including women, black people, and asians in the game play which is really... really.. REALLY.. concerning with regards to the status of our world in general. Moving on there's a lot of customization you can do for each person and you unlock outfits by performing well and progressing through the assignments. An example is medic, which is by far my highest leveled role at about 15, I now get additional medic assignments unlocked that give me new outfits and I can also choose the camo/color pattern for them so that's cool and makes them feel like there are more than there are, there's probably about 10 outfits consisting of pants, hat/helmet, and torso which then some have 5 or so color options. I don't think that there are really that many limited outfits between the color combos and the variety of outfits that seems like just as many as they've ever had initially.

    The multiplayer system is essentially the same as almost every other battlefield but with new maps and setting/theme. I don't get why so many people are bashing the multiplayer when it has been just as fun as it always has been. I like that they made a lot of changes to the mechanics of the ballistics for the recon class as well, not going to spoil them you'll just have to figure it out. Overall I would say most people do not buy these games anymore for campaign mode(COD included which essentially has absolutely no campaign now) and just play it for multiplayer. I would give them an 8/10 for this and say it's worth it if you liked the already well established battlefield multiplayer experience.    … Expand

If you loved Battlefield 3 and 4, you'll love this one. It's a shame that sexists will miss out on this amazing game because of their primitive views.

Trust me, the game is worth buying because EA/DICE have come up with a really good model that should be rewarded. They've started this game with the battlefields of early WW2. This sees the British and Germans fighting over North Africa, Holland, Belgium etc. They're going to be constantly releasing content (maps and some game modes to come) that brings more and more content into the game, chronologically expanding with the theatres of the war. It's so disappointing that EA/DICE are being bashed over having female characters in a game at all. It's even more disappointing because this game is doing SO MANY THINGS that we as a community have been crying out for - no more paid DLC and community segmentation, pay for the game once and get continued content and support, new and fresh game modes etc... We need to be rewarding this as a community.

    The game isn't perfect but no game is. The progression system could be better, for example. But it's FUN, it feels good and they're going to keep improving it. Historical accuracy? In a game series where a syringe cures all bullet wounds? It's a video game not a documentary, get a grip!    … Expand

    -Looks good-I mean seriously some of the environments look great, and real dust and weather can obstruct and be used to advantage.
    -Fast paced and conquest game modes-A charge forward type mode for more combat. Conquest works like conquest does.
    -Weapons appear balanced. No obvious go to guns, though there are a handful of useless ones.
    -Armor does not necessarily dominate-more skill required for armor drivers. Fairly easy to balance the playing field against them.

    Con's
    -Cant freakin' see anyone! While weathering is a cool aspect and the terrain looks great it has the unfortunate side effect of everyone being essentially stealthed. Which can be insanely frustrating.
    -Conquest seems particularly boring?! First time I've felt truly bored by conquest mode. Feels either empty, or chaotic... Not in between.
    -Level up system is meh-I liked attachments better. Its not the worst, but definitely not the best.
    -Cosmetics are also meh-I mean with the lack of reality just go crazy! Lets get some steampunk demons going since we already have black trans Nazi's!
    -air warfare seems detached from the rest of the fight, aside from overpowered bombers! Good luck taking any planes down with flak...
    -#1 no freakin' girls are playing this!!!! Why go through the trouble to market to them when 1% of your audience might be female?! LOL DICE. But whatever...

    Ultimately a disappointment. But not as bad as the Battlefront fiasco. Definitely not going out to buy the next DICE game without real reviews and a markdown. Seriously couldn't care less about the adding female/racial skins to the game, but the response from DICE was more infuriating than the decision. Its a meh game at the moment, worth a markdown buy at least.

    My score is primarily based on gameplay and squad mechanic. Played all Battlefield games since BF3 and BFV, has for me, the best shooting mechanic and the best squad gameplay. If you play well with your squad, you have a better chance to win the game and a lone wolf has less. It may not have a lot of content right now but all the remaining content will be free so that's a good thing. IMy score is primarily based on gameplay and squad mechanic.     After the total fails about BF1 my expectations was very very very low about BFV, with beta don't look better, my beta experience was shot and really not good. As war games fan I start play the final version released on 20, and had a great surprise, final game has great game play, speed and gameplay mechanics, feels as good as BF4 or BF3.

    Bad:
    I still dislike any graphic details, after 5 Dec patch gets a lot better and fix some visual glitches (my glitches as PS4 player was only in graphics) and get better.

    Good:
    Greal good gaming experience
    Great speed connection speed living in an Caribbean country
    Good Visual customisations
    Good Game modes

    Overall, this is the game that I was expecting receive when I bought BF1, definitely recommended, Some bad reviews are based on hate, beta or COD lovers, then, take your time, play few hours of game (online) and make your own opinion.    … Expand

    RDR2 didnt get the backlash even tought i found more bug than BFV The game has been out for only 24 hrs , more things will be fixed I had a blast yesterday playing with my friends.     Battlefield V is a great game. New firestorm mode is great and multiplayer is better than BF1. Shame about all the racist/sexist reviews. Best game after God of War last year!

    The story mode felt uninspiring there fast and forgettable still present unliked some certain shooting coming every year, yet the Multiplayer feels refreshing in the WW2 setting as long we get Russian and War in the Pacific 1942 classic maps this would be a great price.

    Although I understand and agree it being unfinished and lacking content, I am having alot of fun in multiplayer matches. People are slowly getting used to the maps and objectives resulting less campers more action. My first review here so Cheers :)

    guys i know what your problem is. most of you play fifa and u just suck. u put your noob fifa hate to bfv and you dont even try it. And most of you want in the release to have all maps with russia greece and so on. The gameplay is amazing and this is the only game that is real war. NO laser beams and bad graphics , no noob friendly. Its a classic strategy battlefield.     Personally i'm enjoying it, thankfully. After how much I hated Black Ops 4 I was worried that all the bad press about this might be true but I like it. Felt a bit too fast paced with the TTK at first but after getting used to it (didn't take long), i'm enjoying it. It is quite buggy but everything seems to be being addressed. Still don't like it as much as BF1, i'd have scored BF1 anPersonally i'm enjoying it, thankfully. After how much I hated Black Ops 4 I was worried that all the bad press about this might be true but I like it.     Battlefield 5 is a great game. There are many bugs but none are really are game changing, just visual. The maps are fun, and the graphics are amazing. The war stories campaign is also very enjoyable and provide a good story. My one big problem is the time of death and invisible enemies glitch but otherwise the game is very good.

The Developper reacted to critics appropriately and so far I'm satisfied, there are bugs yes, but I'm confident they will be fixed. Historical accuracy was never a thing that was promised and as you know our forefathers didn't run to different flags to defeat the Nazis, so I find the whole debate ridiculous. I really enjoyed the Last Tiger Mission, it was outstanding and nice to see the war from the german view. Microstransactions can only be used for cosmetics so it's everyone's own choice if he/she wants to buy a skin or not. Also one can't criticise BF5 for having them while enjoying other titles with the same System (OW, Anthem,Fortnite, Fifa,...). I think the ratings aren't quite as objective as they should be.

    Honestly, the gameplay is really amazing! The single player is an immersing experience, you felt "war" in each mission. The multiplayer as a more tactical approach, which I enjoy! If you don't care about the social issues that EA brings in this game, you will like this game! It is really minimal in my opinion and you still feel the Battlefield experience in this new game. Why not gives it a try?

    -Emphasis on squad cooperation
    -Weapons feel balanced

    Cons
    -Currently pretty buggy with annoying bugs that affect ADS and squad spawning but most likely will be patched soon
    -Tanks seem super slow and weak and tend to get taken down too easily by a single assault player

The maps are gorgeous, complex and dynamic with destruction that goes beyond anything BF has seen before. The sound is sublime. I don't know how DICE's keeps outdoing themselves with their audio design...but they do. The overall sense of epic scope is here in spades....fighter planes overhead....armor crawling around on the ground....that fateful moment when you here the sputtering of the J2 rocket overhead and you just have to stop to pinpoint its location and, once you know its thankfully passing you buy, you watch it drop and crash someone else's party. Seeing/hearing those explosions never gets old.

    Yeah, the UI overall is kind of ridiculous. And yeah, there's bugs....a lot of them. But nothing game-breaking. Overall impression is a great game with a few rough edges which I know will be ironed smooth as per DICE's history of polishing games until they run well. With that trajectory in mind, I can see this becoming...just maybe....the best BF game I've ever played.    … Expand

    Gameplay is king! BF5 is a bigtime step up from BF1 in terms of gameplay and is a must buy for any battlefield fan. Multiplayer games are fun and keep you engaged the entire match. The game is lacking on a bit of content, however the progression system is 100% better and definitely will keep you in it for the long haul. Tides of War will help bring the game some much needed additional content.

    I own and have played all of the Battlefield games and this is the worst iteration in the franchise.     For those that love tanks like me, don't even bother, they are nearly worthless in BFV, not only are they really weak offensively and defensively, you have to refill the ammo now! How fun is that!? I have literally hit enemies with the cannon on my tank and not killed them, many many times now, that's how weak they are and on top of that next to no splash damage, infantry taunt tanks now because they are so bad. Tanks are one of the things I use a lot of in BF and I'm extremely disappointed with the choices they've made in this game.

    There's a plethora of other problems with the game too but I'll leave it at that. The game is beautiful as always but who cares how good it looks if it doesn't work as intended. Whoever worked on tanks and made the decision to have them refill ammo should be fired.    … Expand

    Didn't like the new gunplay in BF1 and this feels the same. I enjoyed this game for some time but it was just like every other game published by EA... Not finished when it arrived.

    To start off, I was one of the people who didn't like DICE's depiction of WW2 and was against the game from the start. The closed alpha was quite good, but the beta was an outright disaster. That said, I can confidently say that this year's installment has the best gameplay since BF3. If you want a game with an in-depth progressions system that you can sink hours into with its constant genre-defining epic moments for hours on end, this is the game for you. Cosmetics are surprisingly good. All characters you can choose are faction specific, meaning no black woman nazis, restricting the player to choose from a variety of men and women from a select character pool. For those concerned about historical accuracy, it is barely noticeable aside from the uncomfortable and loud women screaming on the battlefield. The content is quite light at launch. While there is a lot of variety in the content itself, the quantity is lacking. Features such as dragging downed friendlies, vehicle customization, and the Last Tiger war story are lacking from the game. The game is also very buggy. I'd say there aren't many 'game breaking' bugs (although I've encountered an infinite revive state glitch where I couldn't respawn), as most of the bugs are ignorable at best. The story is alright. 2 of the 3 war stories are quite decent, and one is just downright garbage. The AI is piss poor, and there is no variety in gameplay other than the typical one man army style gameplay. Performance isn't up to standard right now, as hectic moments can get quite laggy especially if you don't have a good CPU. So, should you buy the game? Not yet. Either wait till it's on sale or until more content comes out. I also recommend you try out the game by buying one month of EA Access. I've had a blast with the game so far, and I look forward to Tides of War.    … Expand

    I am loving this game, and I am upset that I am at work instead of home playing it! The graphics, gameplay and sound are simply stand alone in this field of shooters.

    I bought BFV and CODIIII the same day.
    BF4 runs 4K nearly maxed out with a 2070, looks amazing, overall it's a very nice improved WWII version of BFI, with a lot of visual / UI / gameplay improvements. Overall satisfied despite the critiques.
    Totally satisfied for what I paid (around 40€)
    I put only 9/10 because it's not as much impressive as BF1 was by the time it came out.

    In many ways, Battlefield V feels like a big step backwards for the franchise. The campaign is boring and frustrating, multiplayer is unbalanced, and bugs keep popping up in every mode to ruin the experience. The fortification system is a good shakeup, but the good it brings is tempered by the cumbersome and murky Grand Operations. With some patches, balance changes and bug squashing, BFV could be a fantastic game, but at the moment, this soldier needs to go back to basic training.
