First off, you PC gamers are complaining about the PC version under the PS4 version. Maybe play it on PS4 and see how that turns out. Because one your problems are fixed, you're gonna love it, I bet you.

Second, you guys who are saying this game sucks for nonchalant reasons: have you actually played the game? Play through it before writing a review, please. And I mean all the way through the campaign.

Third and final, a lot of people are complaining and whining about the Batmobile and the fact that this game out too early. I find this funny because these are the same people who whined and complained about the Batmobile not being in the other games and the fact that Arkham Knight was pushed back not once, not twice, but FOUR times. Rocksteady read has done everything they can to make this work and you guys just come here and complain about it? If I was Rocksteady, I would honestly just stop making games all together for you people.

Now, this is a message to everyone. If you're thinking about not buying the game because of some lousy reviews, please get the game. Seriously, don't let someone else's opinion decide whether you are going to buy a game or not. If you WANT to play it, then get it! It doesn't matter what others are saying, because who cares! When it comes to gaming, the only thing that matters is YOUR opinion!

Anywho, sorry for all the ranting, but people just need to be told. This game is great, it is everything I was hoping for in the Batman finale, and it has blown me away on every scale. I am terrible sorry for those who did not enjoy it, but maybe those are the same people who enjoy CoD. Who knows? But wow, Arkham Knight took my breath away. It is predictable, yes, but does that ruin the game!? Heck no! It actually helps if you try not to think about it. Just play the game and enjoy it! But yes, the gameplay is flawless, graphics are stunning, story is on point, and the sound is great. Even the characters are wonderful. Come on: it's the same batman game we've been with since Arkham Asylum. Only this time, it's a lot bigger than Asylum and a lot more addicting then City. This game is beyond amazing. It never disappoints me tbh. And to all the Batmobile haters: I love driving it around. I don't care if it's forced on me, I'm going to drive it for fun because it's just THAT cool. I love it. Maybe add the Batwing next? Overall, amazing game and I recommend this title to everyone.

Yes the game does attempt to advertise its new and impressive addition that is the Batmobile seemingly at every possible opportunity; but its what everyone has been crying out for since the Batman first made his comeback on the modern day consoles so although it can become a bit repetitive in that sense, do not let this detract from what a marvel this game is.
Slick combat engine that the game series boasted from day one, the detail in the world around you is at times mind boggling and the story is immersive and will keep you entertained from start to finish.
If your in two minds about whether to part with your hard earned money to own this title then let me assure you that you will not be disappointed; the market is full of games that fail to wow or live up to expectation but the Batman will not let you down. I wont give it a 10 because nothing is perfect but this game is a worthy addition to anybody's collection. Enjoy :)

Batman Arkham Knight is a game that improves on the combat and graphics from previous games in the Batman franchise but everything else suffers because of that, the missions are simple and predictable, the bat mobile which is supposed to be a genre defining feature ends up being pointless and repetitive. This game was WAY to hyped!

Although, I was originally planning on buying it for PC, the reports of strange compatibility with GPU's and such turned me off. Buying it on PS4 then came to a struggle considering that PSN was slowed by the release of this game. Nonetheless, after six hours of downloading I finally had my own copy of Batman: Arkham Knight. And boy, I definitely have no regrets. Having never completed a Batman game before (except a bit of Arkham Asylum), getting into this game was a breeze. All the combat feels intuitive and flowing. Never does it feel like a the chopped up mess some fighting games can be. The combat seamlessly introduces you to the world of the Dark Knight. So far, I have yet to notice anything game breaking. Graphics are phenomenal, fighting is fluid, multi-hero integration is outstanding, and the story is absolutely a breath of fresh air. This game hits every single criteria of being a success, yet is not deserving of a perfect score. Nothing really is. This game is solid and has yet to show show any glaring flaws, it just simply neglects to be extraordinarily innovative or game-changing. Therefore, I am happy and quite confident to give Batman: Arkham Knight a near perfect score of a 9/10. Without a doubt, I would suggest this game to anyone of my friends or family. Expand

I felt it necessary to create an account simply to combat these COMPLETELY unfounded negative reviews, they are doing the game a serious injustice. I'm reading things like "combat and graphics are great, but it feels like the last games in the series" or "this game should not have been released on PC, there are some framerate drops" or "Warner Bros is a horrible publisher, too much content cut" (honestly, this game is jam packed with content, not to mention it comes with 3 pieces of free DLC right out of the box, this dude must be high) where they then proceed to give the game a whopping ZERO. How unfair! These people have most likely put in a couple hours MAX into this amazing game, and then they come on with relatively minor complaints and give it a ZERO?? When reviewers do this they proceed to lose all credibility, period. Honestly, pay no attention to these reviews, they are bogus, written by extremely immature gamers who are unable to write objective, fair reviews. All that being said, I AM LOVING THIS GAME! I am around 12 hours into the main story line (I felt that was enough to write this review) and I am truly in awe of this game, the graphics, combat, story, voice acting, writing, new gameplay mechanics. I am in Batman heaven. Yes, the Batmobile is a TAD overused, but it is still FUN, I promise. That is my only "complaint" (if you can even call it that). Other than that, so far this is gaming perfection. Rocksteady has proved yet again that they truly know how to make amazing, top shelf games. The current user score is at a surprising and shameful 7.0. This is wildly inaccurate, I can assure you. Seriously guys!? Pay attention to the critic reviews, they tell the true story. If you loved (or even remotely liked) Arkham Asylum and/or Arkham City, or if you love dark, suspenseful, insanely fun action/stealth games, I could not recommend this game more. I am giving it a well deserved 10/10. Expand

Batman was always my favorite super hero. A legend and larger than life character who will stop at nothing to save Gotham from the unspeakable evil. In 2009 Rocksteady shocked everyone by making the most beautiful comic video game, Batman Arkham Asylum and now, batman is back in the final game which is bigger and better than ever, Batman Arkham Knight.
The opening scene starts out strong and is one of the best I have seen in a video game this year with the scarecrow making a big impact. Batman Arkham Knight picks up after Arkham city. The stakes are higher now than ever and the people of Gotham have evacuated the city because Scarecrow has threatened to detonate a chemical weapon. The city is now filled with all kinds of gangs causing chaos and it is up to our hero to save the day.
Gliding over the city of Arkham was an awesome feeling. The first thing you will notice is just how impressive the world around batman is. The world is divided into 3 islands, Bleake Island, Founders Island and Miagani Island, each with its own landscapes and unique setting.
Everything is done with detail, from the dark sky, huge buildings to the gang filled streets that feel more lively. I appreciated the attention to detail such as the rain drops falling on batman’s cape. The graphics are also very good, I did not notice any frame rate drops or loading times during my gameplay. Loading times happens only when batman dies.
One of the main strengths of the batman series was the fighting mechanics. The combat system is more refined than before making every hit, grapple and environmental take down rewarding. The combinations are impressive. Every fight felt different because you get to use the gadgets as well which helps you improvise the best approach and strategy on enemies. I liked the addition of the fear takedowns because if done successfully, you will be able to take out multiple enemies simultaneously. The excellent level design allows you to approach enemies in different ways by silently taking them out, luring them to where you want or going all out on them.
There will be a lot of gadgets at your disposal each having its own strengths. My favorite gadget was the remote controlled batmobile that allows you to control the batmobile remotely. The most important addition in Batman Arkham Knight is the powerful batmobile. The first in the series and it plays a big part of the whole game because you will use it to travel from point to point and to take out enemies. You will spend a lot of time with the batmobile. Controlling it is smooth and turning around tight corners feels satisfying. I liked how destructible the environments around me were and hearing the gangs scream out when they notice the batman is a nice touch. With just a press of a button you can call the batmobile from anywhere and hope into it. You can propel batman up into the sky while driving which is very cool to pull off. Switching the batmobile into a tank is easily done, you can use the tank to take out multiple enemies, solve puzzles, and control it in hard to reach places. I enjoyed the addition of the batmobile but it does get tiring especially at the end of the game where it feels forced.
There is a well-balanced progression system in which you collect XP to upgrade your gadgets skills, batsuit, combat, and batmobile.
Every character in the game felt rich with lots of dialogue and performances by the Joker and Scarecrow were memorable. You will come across many characters throughput the main campaign. Such as Penguin, Face Off and Poison Ivy. All are there for a reason which adds to the overall experience. Seeing the Catwomen and Robin again was great. There will be missions where you will be teaming up with them. The game is challenging and unlike previous instalments where most of the enemies looked the same, here you will encounter many groups of enemies with their own skills.
It took me around 13 hours to complete the main campaign. The story is the most focused in the series. It is more personal and batman is in for the biggest challenge yet. The pacing of the story is very good with a lot of twists and turns. The variety of missions and the clever puzzles are intriguing. Replay value is high and there will be plenty of reasons to come back for like the side missions, AR challenges, Riddlers missions and solving murder cases.
Batman Arkham Knight is a bench mark for superhero games. It is an action packed game with great music, voice acting, characters, and fun gameplay that will entertain you from start to finish. Batman Arkham Knight is one of those games that successfully makes you feel that you are the batman.

The story is captivating I've already played for four hours, and still really am enjoying it.The open world is huge, about three times the size of city's. It's fun to just run/fly/drive around, you don't even have to fight. The batmobile is a fun way to get around. You destroy all in your path as you drive around the streets of gotham. The one negative about the game is how much the game forces you to use the batmobile, especially the tank mode. Even the most fun of activities gets dull after constant usage. The graphics are absolutely gorgeous which is impressive, as the open world is huge, and there are no loading screens. It's a fun feature that really helps separate Arkham Knight from the other Batman games and it makes for some great variety. However, so much emphasis is placed on using the Batmobile that a lot of the features present in Arkham City are either not present or go unnoticed. Riddler trophies have been replaced with timed trial sections, which are enjoyable unless you're someone who loves perfecting games and go for three stars, in which case it becomes a monotonous and frustrating test of patience and intense concentration. Furthermore, travelling through the streets of Gotham on the Batmobile simply doesn't grant the same amount of exploration that City did. I think this game is absolutely fantastic. Gotham is stunning, Batman's arsenal of moves is complex enough to not be a button masher but not too complicated to deter a casual gamer, the Batmobile also has a great set of mechanisms (though having to hold down a button to keep it in combat mode is annoying), and the story isn't nearly as bad as people are making it out to be. I don't exactly know what these people expect. I'm not even a superhero fanboy and I know that superhero storylines follow a very simple formula:
    1. City is in a state of calm.
    2. A threat to the city presents itself.
    3. Superhero is called upon to save the city.
    4. City is saved.
    5. Back to normal.

Without having even played through this entire game, I can tell just by the trophies available for the game that this is more or less how the game functions--like every other superhero storyline in history. Why people want this complicated for the sake of some unseen uniqueness that could very well be a huge disaster is beyond me. Regarding the storyline formula: if it isn't broke, don't fix it.

A perfect 10 if only for the fact that this is the first superhero game I've ever played that thrilled me immediately and kept me interested for hours on end so far. Not the first I've played, far from it, but we all know most superhero games are terrible even going back to the 8-bit era. My interest in this game has yet to wane. Completely engrossing.

Everything is just so dark and evil, i love it. The only problem I have is that you have to hold the left trigger the whole time during tank mode but that's a minor flaw. Other then that, everything is pretty amazing. I respect the developers for putting this much effort into it because the fact is, they could of came out with an average length, average story, and everyone of us would of still bought the game because it's batman. Gameplay: Nothing too different from the previous Arkham games but this does it better. The old mechanics have been polished moving it into the new generation of gaming. The batmobile is fun to play and so far I'm enjoying the tank battles, but hopefully we see some variation later in the game.

Story: Although a little predictable for the more knowledgable batman fan, the majority of people will fall into the hook. Like a movie it's best enjoyed by just letting the narrative take you on the journey rather than trying to guess the ending. Im loving it so far though.

Visuals: cant fault a thing. It doesn't look as good as the order but it is like 10 times bigger than the order in terms of content. The characters look great, the special fx are probably the best i've seen in a videogame, i really enjoyed the big scale moments (infamous second son is a close second).

Overall I am loving the game so far and can't wait to 100% it.

Game is smooth as hell. Not a single loading screen. Improved combat and flight. Huge map really detailed.
Tank battles still feel out of place and forced. I mean never in batman's comic history did batman go blowing up tanks(tons of them!). All of them unmanned really!

The hype got me again, this game felt like its more about Joker than anybody else, the Batmobile combat is not great at all, the sound effects in the while fighting thugs feels weird, the graphics are the best for a 3rd party game, MGS V TPP will own any game that was and is going to be released this year.

In my opinion, so far the game is nothing special compared to other Arkham games. It is more or less the same as the other Arkham games with a new story, better graphics and now you can drive a car.

The driving is a bit 'Clunky' but then again, the game isn't really about the driving. That is more of a side thing. I think it would have been better to focus on other things and forget

Rocksteady's first Batman game showed they know how to make a great game; transcending the Superhero genre. Arkham City showed they know how to utilise established mechanics and characters e.g The Joker to their highest potential. Arkham Knight shows that these guys COMPLETELY understand Batman as a public figure; a character, a symbol.

In the end, Batman: Arkham Knight is the perfect Batman story, with complex characters, jaw-dropping twists, exhilarating quests, gargantuan exploration, creatively intricate puzzles, extensive variety and one hell of a soundtrack.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I'll start with the positives: graphically (at least from a technical standpoint) the game is outstanding -- texture and model detail is superb, the effects are impressive, and everything looks solid; audio is also decent -- the music sets the mood without being intrusive, the crunch of fist against body is satisfying, and for the most part the voice acting is above average (although at times Kevin Conroy sounds like he's wearing ill-fitting dentures). The frame rate seems fairly consistent, texture pop-in is minimal, and all in all it's a good example of what the Unreal engine can do when it's pushed.

Brawling mechanics are largely unchanged, although it feels a little easier than before, the enemies are less varied, and there's less incentive to get creative. Occasionally Bats will still punch forlornly at the air rather than head towards an opponent, but it seems to happen less often than in Origins and the addition of a few tag-team fights spices it up, and overall it's still a fun diversion.

Unfortunately, from here it all goes a bit downhill. The first three instalments really felt like you *were* Batman, and that Gotham City (or Arkham Asylum) were real locations, but in Arkham Knight this sense of person and place are missing. For starters the city is too big, and due to some of the gameplay mechanics you're either high above it or at ground level in one of the (all too frequent) "World of Tanks: Gotham Edition" shooting sections (more on which later), neither of which allow for any real involvement in the location. In previous games I always knew where I was and could navigate by landmarks, but AK becomes an exercise in "follow the marker".

Other elements are missing: In City and Origins the street thugs played a central role in the game, but in AK they may as well not be there. The Predator encounters are few and far between, the environments they occur in are poorly designed, and there's little sense of suspense or tension. One thing I particularly miss is random street brawls; yes, they're available, but they seem pointless somehow -- there's little reason to ever approach street level on foot (and until you've cleared an area of all its tanks it's actually a recipe for death), and apart from the Riddler informants you gain nothing for your trouble.

If those were its only defects the game wouldn't be so bad -- still the weakest in the series, but enjoyable. What really spoils the experience, though, boils down to two things:

First, the plot. It's confused, predictable, dull, and at points you have to wonder how Batman can claim to be "the world's greatest detective" when "chemicals are being mixed at the chemical plant" is a surprise to him, or any of the other mind-numbingly obvious "surprises" that the dunderhead can't spot a mile off. Also, while it's true that Bats is a little emotionally unstable, this game paints him as being somewhere on the border between sociopath and psychopath, and while we're endlessly reminded that he "doesn't kill people" it certainly doesn't feel that way at points, particularly when the Batmobile comes in to play...

...and the Batmobile is the final nail in the coffin. The first time you get in it it's pretty freakin' sweet and the first time you switch to combat mode and blow up some tanks is fun, but the 100th time you go through the EXACT SAME "shoot loads of tanks" section the novelty has worn off. Despite acquiring upgrades the general combat mechanic remains the same (hold L2, fire a missile, strafe to avoid incoming fire while it recharges, repeat), and you get the feeling these moments are in there simply to justify the vehicle's inclusion. They're dull, repetitive, and feel about as un-Batmanlike as it's possible to be, and the less said about the lengthy, tedious, frustrating, and honest-to-goodness PAINFUL battle against the uber-weapon at the end of Act 2 the better. (The Batmobile even comes in to play in the Riddler side missions -- sure, some are puzzles and mildly diverting, but some are, I kid you not, RACES AGAINST THE CLOCK.)

I've replayed the previous three instalments several times, each time to 100%, collecting every last Riddler trophy, wiping out all the Most Wanted, the whole nine yards. Arkham Knight, in contrast, is getting traded in now I've finished the main plot (and I only persevered with that out of a desire for it to be over rather than because I gave a hoot about what was going on.

Origins may have been something of a let down at the time, but in contrast to this appalling mess it's an absolute gem. A bitterly disappointing end to the series; avoid it at all costs.

Well i've got to say Batmobile is pretty awesome, its like adding another 50 % of the gameplay-since half of the time almost u are using the batmobile-and suddenly u play a different game than the 3 games before.
Now the batmobile itself,it is georgeous,it feels georgeous but it lacks on some parts :
1)It has extreme handlings making it pretty OP in the game.
2)there is too much gameplay with it
    3)it get repeatitive,not easly,but it gets

Now,lets not forget this is a new-gen game and on this part Batman does a good job too!
The world is not massive like witcher 3 for example but it is so detailed making an outstanding atmosphere and combining the city while using ur car on chasing thugs and **** its an impresive feeling

So overall u would say this game is pretty amazing, however, the most dissapointing thing for me is the combat!Although they add some new mechanics like enviroment knock-out(batman never kills, although he smashes their skulls)or multy-takedown and stuff, the combat seems very easy even on hard difficulty and it is completely souless...the thugs can be like 100 yet they hit in total slower than u do alone, batman is acting like the nightwing when he jumps from one corner to another 10 feet away corner, the sounds are ridicoulous and thugs fall down like puppets...i know its pretty much the same with the old games but with this potentiall and the atmosphere it feels even worse, having granded that we have played 3 more batman games with the same fking combat system...

Overall its a very good game and i think is worth buying,i just feel like all these stuff could have been added on batman origins or even batman city 4-5 years ago, having the ultimatum of a game!

Not only do the character models look brilliant and really show the facial expressions and weathered effects of the characters but they make the surroundings feel real and are a blast to explore. Gotham City is lively and feels like a run down city which is helped by the constant rain which just adds to the visual candy. The visuals in this game really show what the PS4 is capable of and it is definitely the best looking game in my collection.

Of course, the visuals are just the icing on the cake and when I play through a game I like to enjoy the story as it makes the experience all that more satisfying. Unfortunately, the story was fairly mediocre at best. I did enjoy thoroughly playing through the story for the most part but it wasn't gripping and certain aspects were a little too predictable. The new character who was actually originally made for the game is given in the title and known as the Arkham Knight. I feel like this character was slightly lazy and could've been used better in the story as the only reason he wants batman dead is because "ooh I hate batman the most and I know his tricks so I can kill him.". As well as being underdeveloped it was made extremely obvious who the Arkham Knight's identity was with the foreshadowing which was practically writing his name on the walls. It seems evident that the arkham knight was forced into the story in order the keep the word "Arkham" in the game title as when he is inevitably defeated (is that really a spoiler?) it makes no difference to the story as Scarecrow was the one actually threatening Gotham City and posing any sort of a threat. The Arkham Knight aside, the rest of the villains were portrayed very well with the exception of the riddler looking like he's going through a midlife crisis and can't even bring himself to button up his shirt anymore but nevertheless the entire cast were voiced wonderfully and the script writing was engaging and well written. I especially loved the lines the thugs would randomly spew out as you were travelling along Gotham City and I found myself laughing at a lot of the things that were said. Most of the things they came out with were actually relevant to the plot too which was always very fun to hear. There were multiple references to Arkham City and it was clear that the plot may have been more enjoyable had I played the previous games but the story is enjoyable to both veterans and newcomers alike.

Finally the most important feature of any video game: the gameplay. First off the game is almost perfectly optimized for PS4 and works like a charm. I say almost because I did encounter a few glitches throughout my experience including a "falling through the floor" glitch which I would say is probably fairly rare and I'm just stupid. With that out of the way I think it is best that I point out the obvious fly in the ointment: the batmobile. Yes, what has been the main promotion for this game and what fans have supposedly been begging for since the first Arkham game was released is finally here and of course they've crammed it down our throats at every opportunity they got and after a while it becomes hard to breathe. In my opinion one of the main flaws of this game is indeed the main gimmick of this game and like all gimmicks the effect wears off quickly when you're using it for almost every mission in the story. As I have said previously I did thoroughly enjoy the story but in an attempt to make the game more "badass" the batmobile is needlessly slapped around your face until well after your cheeks have torn off. Whilst I didn't hate the batmobile, I did get extremely sick of it, especially towards the end of the game as the combat does not change in the slightest. There are two modes for the batmobile: driving and battle mode. Obviously the driving mode is for speeding around Gotham City and despite the floaty controls I didn't have too much of a problem with the feel of racing around in the dark knights compensator but then there is the battle mode which believe me you will know all about by the end. The batmobile is used in every chance they can possibly get to fight off tanks and it gets very monotonous as despite the upgrades and additional perks the fights are repetitive and become boring especially when they're not even challenging. Even most bosses are replaced by tank battles which was very disappointing as any climax is destroyed by the boring action shooting. Luckily it's not used much in the side missions which are actually really fun and add a lot to the experience. Also when the combat is used it is extremely fun and smooth and despite being simple to learn it soon gets very challenging to master but I found myself purposely fighting thugs just to use it more. There are also stealth missions which I am horrible at but they were tough and fun to figure out ways of taking out thugs without being seeing as it was done very well.

The story is quite good but most certainly the weakest out of the franchise due to the fact that it's predictable(with one exception that saves the story from being weak) and 80% of it takes after director Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight Rises. The combat is excellent, easily the best in a Rocksteady game to date; the voice acting is top notch, the characters are great, the graphics are amazing. And that's all the pros of the game.
The side missions are fun but weaker than the ones in Arkham City; the Riddler challenges aren't that interesting anymore since they've been done again and again; and the batmobile, which is a mixed bag in and of itself. It feels very fluid and fun to drive it throughout the(rather small and lifeless) city, but the part where it turns into a tank and fights drones, while fun, gets a little repetitive at one point.
If you are a Batman fan like I am, then you certainly must buy this game; if you're not, you might still enjoy the excellent combat and entertaining batmobile rides. Love it or hate it, this game is a good, albeit faulty, send off for Rocksteady's version of the The Dark Knight.

Where it falls short, however is the story. Although some people might think that scarecrow was a particularly good choice for the villain, to me he seemed less impressive than the villains you fight in the side missions. The story to me just felt too predictable, everything happens as you expect it to, for me there were no surprises. But that doesn't interfere with the superb gameplay which is, quite frankly so perfect that you have to admire the developers skill. In terms of the batmobile entering the fray. It's functionable, easy to use once you get used to it. As an addition however, considering the gameplay I don't think it was necessary, the game holds up, even without the batmobile.

This game absolutely nails how it feels to be Batman. Playing it and enjoying the ride makes me want to go back to the previous games. Very good.

Driving wasn't that great, I found myself crashing too often, but the tank battles were great, I would say its one of my favorite parts of the game. Story has a few surprising twists and its quite dark, and it is quite bold and there are big things going on. So overall it was a very enjoyable experience, with a few flaws and some sort of WOW factor was kinda missing, it all works well, but nothing really blown me away. Expand

First, the melee and vehicle combat... As always, the melee combat was superb, although I thought there were too many advanced combos, and it was easier just to stick to the standard combos. For the most part, I enjoyed the use of the Batmobile in this game, but the multiple vehicle stealth sections were terribly implemented. There were too many forced Batmobile sections and sometimes it seemed that Batman was taking a backseat to his own car...

Up next, story and characterization... The story was decent: it was good enough to keep you going through the story without it seeming like a chore, but it was not as good as I would have liked. The Arkham Knight reveal was poor and predictable, and his character was a more annoying than menacing. There were multiple clue drops throughout the game, but not in a subtle way though. It's very obvious by the team he is revealed who he is. In fact, much of the story is predictable, not bad, but predictable. Scarecrow was O.K., but he didn't feel like the main villain and the reasoning behind his plans didn't really add up, I thought. The creative implementation of the Joker was a highlight though, and Mark Hamill was a treat, as always.

Up next, graphics and setting... The graphics are great, not the best, but very good. And the stormy, murky atmosphere was also fantastic. This game takes place in Gotham City so it is a little disappointing that it doesn't feel like a city. As soon as the game starts up, you're given reason to think you'll be playing in this bustling city. It is then immediately evacuated so only criminals remain... Also the fact that this game takes place over a SINGLE night, is a little unrealistic. You easily play this game for over 20 hours and it's supposed to be a single Halloween night. A look at a drizzly and gray Gotham during the day would have been nice to see. Overall, this beautiful city just feels empty with some collectibles scattered throughout.

Batman was a solid addition, but a lackluster conclusion, to the Batman: Arkham series. It's closer to a 7 than an 8, but I'm trying to even out the unfair scores.

Never before have I been as captivated by a game as I did here, I was genuinely surprised by how much I enjoyed this game, all around one of the best games I have played in decades. If not ever. I started off being very aggravated by the idea of Paul Dini not playing a large part in the writing this time around. But they pulled it off very well. This is without a doubt the Best Arkham game I have played.

The only problem I have with it is the 3 endings. The first ending you get is flawless, top job to Rocksteady. The second is.. I don't want to say **** but I feel it's an accurate description, The third is meh. I thought after getting 100% completion (in game) there would be a good ending third ending but I was left unsatisfied. however it did not take away from the overall gaming experience. This is definitely next gen. The graphics are beautiful, the gameplay is flawless, the bat mobile is awesome and My god when the Joker popped up I was screaming with excitement, that was the only time a game ever got me to be genuinely shocked and very excited. I dislike how there weren't any great boss fights but I like the narrative enough to forgive that.

The Story is the best of the Arkham games, the gameplay is better than ever, the bat mobile is incredible, and the first ending, marvellous job guys. It was a great way to end the Arkham series by being able to lock up all the villains too, that was a nice touch :). I rate Batman Arkham Knight 10/10. In my opinion This will be my GOTY, that is of course is battlefront doesn't wipe the flaw.

And the very wrong part came from the Batmobile mission, and there's really a lot of them. This looks like an eternal battle with stupid tanks and all these parts are exactly the same. Just boring as a World of Tanks game was. That's sad since this is really about reduce the quality of the game, and even if you choose to do not do the side mission you have anyway a lot of them in the main arc missions too. And what is really wrong is you need to do all the side missions if you expect to have to correct complete ending and that's a shame since as I've said the game is really good otherwise.

The introduction of the Bat-mobile was very well made, I thought it would be on rails, but actually you can go almost anywhere even vertically sometimes. Batman Arkham Knight is a beautiful game with tasteful visuals, a deep and engaging story and a combat system that is as smooth as ever, but there is a few things which brings it down.

The Gameworld is the prettiest it's ever been with a massive open world full of stuff to do, Gotham looks pretty in its ugliness from the intimidating skyscrapers to the glistening wet streets. The enemies are well detailed with believable facial expressions and body movements and Batman looks awesome in his new suit. This game makes even Robin look cool.

The combat isn't just copy and pasted from Arkham City either, they've added new counters, new enemy tactics, new gadgets and new enemy combatants. The predator sections are awesome with new movement systems that allow you to move around and take out enemies smoothly but it's still challenging, one misstep and you mess up your grove and get pounded buy a horde of goons.

The Most wanted missions are also something worth sinking your teeth into if you crave more bad guy brutalisation, most are check list occupation missions like disable the gun tower but others allow you to take on super villains such as Two-Face or the Riddler. The side missions have story elements that actually matter which I think is how side missions should be done.

The story is engaging and keeps you on edge, it does pull some cheap shots though for the sake of drama and you figure out who the Arkham Knight is quite early if you pay attention which ruins the surprise.

The Batmobile is where the game looses its 10/10 because even though getting around would be a pain in the a** and the gameplay is fun, the game relies too much on it making most of the boss fights tank battles, one which annoyed me so much is that Deathstoke my favourite villain is restricted to an easy tank battle and then defeated with a single hit, I personally wanted to go mano e mano and have a proper fist fight but alas they cheated me out of my satisfaction there.

All in all this game is a near perfect homage to the Batman Arkham series and is worthy of our respect.

Thank you Rocksteady for one hell of a ride.

But why oh WHY did Rocksteady decide that almost every meaningful supervillian encounter will be decided by a flipping tank battle?!
Arkham Asylam, City (especially) and even Origins proved how creative and exhilarating boss encounters could be, yet it is nigh on no existent. Every time I got my hopes up of a great boss encounter, I was faced with yet ANOTHER, more tedious than the last tank battle...even worse - STEALTH tank battle!
This gradually ebbed away at the fun in this game for me, leaving me slightly underwhelmed by the experience after loving all the previous games so much. I don't live for just the boss fights, but enjoyed them so much in the last games that I had high expectations that were treacherously dashed.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. If this is the final game in the acclaimed arkham franchise, I can say the series will not go out on a sour note. It offers fun, entertaining, varied gameplay, a story which is more about character drama and relationships more than previous arkham games, and great visuals and animations.

The story centers around batman saving a deserted Gotham from scarecrow and his accomplice, the new villain on the block: the arkham knight. It sounds simple yes, but paired with the amazing performances of actors such as Kevin conroy, Jonathan banks, and John Noble, many plot twists, and the character development and drama that goes on in between segments of bashing thug's heads in, makes it a hell of a ride. While the arkham Knights true identity is a letdown, and comic book fans will know miles away, it has plenty of other surprises in store, and a final act which made me cry tears of joy as they did the establishing shot. Overall, I enjoyed the main story.

Peppered throughout the huge open world are many side quests to participate in. The "most wanted" jobs consist of you taking out some of gotham's worst, and foiling their schemes. Included are two-face, whose goal is to rob banks, penguin, whose gun shipments must be destroyed, and of course the riddler, who has his ever presence all over the hub with his precious green trophies. One spoiler I am going to include is that deathstroke is in the game, and wants revenge after the events of arkham origins. I was excited, for he was the highlight of that game for me. I expected his boss fight to be arkham origins 5x, But nope, just a tank battle. One spoiler that I am not going to include, is my favorite most wanted mission, which finds batman tracking bodies to a mysterious serial killer, and one of bat man's wackiest foes. That was a better boss battle than deathstroke's. Overall though, these side missions offered much variety and a good 10+ hours of gameplay after the main story.

The gameplay is as good as ever in this one. It consists of the usuals, beating up thugs with epic free flow combat, gliding around the city from above, and (my favorite part of arkham games) the stealthy predator encounters. Combat is a highlight, introducing many different enemy types and gadgets. Predator on the other hand, falls just short for me in arkham knight. Most of the encounters take place outside, taking away the claustrophobic, enclosed sections that the other games had. The huge new feature though (which you know from the trailers) is the ability to drive the batmobile. I found driving the thing immensely fun, speeding after thugs and militia is extremely entertaining. Tank combat on the other hand. These tank encounters are way too many throughout the game, not to mention they got boring fast after the first 5 or so. The good thing though is that this adds more variety to the gameplay.

For me, batman: arkham knight is the second best arkham game (the first being asylum.) I had a blast the whole trip, and it is a perfect conclusion for rocksteady's epic arkham trilogy. 8/10

Arkham Knight brings a big heaping dose of everything great from the past games along with introducing some new initiatives that make it feel particularly unique in the Arkham series lineup. The combat system and upgrade system are back form the previous games. The combat flows better than ever and the animations really give you a brutal sense of joy when you go to clobbering a bunch of brutes in a dark alley. Some complain that it is a bit button mashy, and I agree that overall it is, but that doesn't make it any less fun. I like to focus on the beatdown I'm unleashing rather than complex button combinations. To add some complexity you can really focus on using the various finishers that become available or you can change the difficulty and play without prompts to block/evade. This makes fighting a large group substantially more difficult without changing the experience too much. The upgrade system as been changed a little bit. You get upgrade points by completing side missions and can spend at your discretion. This is a nice way to incentivize the side missions. They are fun and all but get a bit old after rescuing the 13th firefighter or taking down the 74th militia checkpoint. There are not that many but it feels that way. I have read a lot about people hating the batmobile portion of the game. I actually enjoyed rampaging through town in Batman's pimpmobile and the tank battles but it does feel like it was focused on a bit too much. It just felt forced down my throat about 3/4s the way through the game. Boss battles were a bit of a letdown compared to previous games, especially a certain tank battle when all the militia have been defeated. There weren't that many boss battles that really felt integral to the game. They were just there to give you a taste of the rogues gallery and that's about it. The story was fun and felt totally like a Batman storyline. The big reveal was a bit of a letdown but I think they made up for it with the great sequence inside of Batman's subconscious. Overall, this game is a must buy for anyone even barely interested in the Arkham games. It has it's flaws (I hate the Riddler trophies!) but the fun will far outweigh them. Lastly, the DLCs are wayyyyyyyyyyyy too short fyi. Expand

Such an epic ending. I feel pity for the problems with the PC version, because with the consoles it's just... just perfect. Good move Rocksteady. Farewell Arkham Series.

This game is great. Gameplay is **** awesome and graphics is beatiful. But story is really bad and the boss fights is weak. I think Arkham City is bettter than Arkham Knight. But Arkham Knight is great game.

    This game is really good.
Batman Arkham Knight may do a lot of things differently than from the previous entries in the series, but it's still a well made Batman game. The game looks absolutely gorgeous on the PS4, and the detailed open world gives a well-made representation of Gotham. The amount of detail put into it is great, and even gives homage to some other DC superheroes such as Superman and Aquaman. The game retains what it already has in the Arkham games, but has some smaller improvements on top of some familar gameplay. However the biggest difference being the inclusion of the Batmoblie. This new feature is a hit or miss; it feels great to drive around Gotham and take on enemies with it's battle mode, but there is a lot of high-action combat that mostly takes place in the Batmoblie. Almost no boss battles or important fights take place on foot. There's hardly any boss fights to begin with; it's mostly just you/Batman investigating crime scenes, finding the culprit, and fighting their goons and stopping their plan. It may seem like a big deal, but the gameplay, story, characters, missions and the replay value this game offers make you truly feel like the Dark Knight.

Batman: Arkham Knight gets an 8/10.

First game I've completed to 100 percent.

Every detail and situation fits together perfectly making this the best batman game by rock steady. The batmobile however is a great thing they added to the game. In addition, at points where the batmobile is needed for platforming doesn't work out, it can get frustrating at times. However, the batmobile works great and swiftly when it comes to the combat

    Pros
    - amazing, huge and graphical open world like no other batman in the series
    - combat system is smoother and better than ever
    - the batmobile is a great add on and came around to be a success
    - easy transport around Gotham
    - you really feel like you are playing the role of Batman

    Cons
    - batmobile doesn't work when platforming is required

not quite as incredible as Arkham city, but Arkham knight brings the Arkham series to an emotional and powerful conclusion that definitely delivers, in both an open world and storytelling aspect

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Arkham series is quickly becoming one of my all time favorites. I love how they included the Joker while keeping true to the events in Arkham City. I love Mark Hamill as the Joker. The side quests are fun and give you something else to do other than advance the story. I like that the writers aren't afraid to kill major characters, because it makes the stakes higher. You never know what's going to happen from one cut scene to another. The game also has several great jump moments that not only startle, but make you cautious in other scenes. It is very difficult to make a game that causes an emotional response in the player, and this is one of those games. This should be applauded. I'm also a big fan of the free flow combat system, which really draws me in and makes me feel more immersed in the Batman experience. I also like the holding cells at GCPD. It's fun to watch them fill up and the shelves in the evidence room store mementos from the super villains you capture.

Great game and a wonderful return to the gameplay of Asylum and City after the disappointment of Origins.

The bat mobile is somewhat difficult to control. I think they needed to tighten their physics just a little bit. The tank mode is fun, but feels somewhat cheap in the big boss battles. I also meet the free flow slowdown from getting high enough combos that was present in earlier games. When you're facing a giant crowd, it's nice to have those few extra moments to plan your next move. Last, I wish there was a batcave or other home base like previous games. Not that it really affects the story, but it's feels more like Batman.

Batman: Arkham Knight presents a technically proficient and overall satisfying ending to the Arkham series, but suffers from overuse of the novelty item Batmobile and extremely repetitive tank battles. [Aug 2015]

Batman: Arkham Knight is the best looking game in the series so far, and includes a lot of cool stuff for fans of Batman. But at the same time it’s starting to feel like Rocksteady is almost too comfortable. It lacks new content, except the pretty bad designed Batmobile parts. If you haven’t played the previous games that much you will probably think that this is one of the best games this year.
