This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. First impressions of Arkham Knight were amazing. I loved the plot, I loved the side missions, I loved the mechanics, the graphics were stunning, the framerate was unbelievable and the pacing was perfect.

That being said there was one side mission I could not stand and I need to get this out the way; the Riddler missions.
Sure some of the earlier challenges to save Catwoman were fun and actually made me feel smart but once you have finished those missions and have a 10 second battle with the riddler boss, you are not allowed to continue any further until you have finished all 276 (some of which are in groups, so, in essence, there are over 350 riddles) riddles placed around the city,
What's even worse is that to locate all of these locations on the map you have to interrogate thugs that know the locations and these start out fun but end up being tedious as there are so many ways you can fail these interrogations.
Without finishing all of the missions (including Riddler) you can only see the incomplete Knightfall Protocol, to view the full one will take hours and hours of playing and solving.

    Other problems to note:

    The Batmobile- although fun at first;
The tank fights become repetitive and drag on.
    The cornering is clunky.
The controls are annoying and foreign unless you change them.
However, despite all this, the upgrades really do help and the power winch is pretty cool.

    Side missions;
Some of them take forever to find (such as the Man-Bat mission).
Some of them don't reveal themselves instantly and some require you to manually find the locations, most of these being the occupation missions.

    Upgrades and Tools
The upgrade system is amazing in Arkham Knight I couldn't find any flaws in the layout or any problems, you get all your gadgets in the perfect spot in the mission.
However, the upgrades themselves become exponentially more expensive as the story goes on and you will almost undoubtedly not achieve them all before you finish the main story or possibly even all of the side missions.

All that aside there is no denying that Arkham Knight is an amazing game with an amazing story and side missions, great mechanics and skill trees/upgrade system and on top of that plenty of DLC at very reasonable prices (some of which are free!) which add stacks of missions skins and more AR challenges (personally I haven't played many).
I would highly recommend this game to anyone that wants to finish off the Arkham series, hit some villains or just anyone that wants to be THE BATMAN (sorry hardcore nerd, right here).

Maybe not the best archenemy, but the game is not just the final 30 minutes. Great story.

It's unfortunate that Batman: Arkham Knight, in spite of all the ideas of the guys from Rocksteady, was not the notorious batmobile at the sales stage, but the terrible optimization of the PC version of the game. Even the most powerful video cards were not able to maintain a stable 60 frames per second, well, we do not need to talk about the weaker hardware. It even went so far that the publisher was forced to suspend sales of the computer version a couple of days after their launch.

Now let's move on to the game itself
As before, we will have to beat criminals and "stealth" most of the game. Only now in Arkham Knight to all this added a Batmobile. And the developers did not lie when they said that they would pay him no less attention than the most famous detective. To begin with, perhaps, is worth it, that in itself this tank on wheels is very steep. Yes, the first appearance of this beast under the loud roar of the motor is almost the coolest scene in the game, which for a long time will sit in the memory of the players. And from the concept of "our batmobile will quickly ride and shoot a lot," the developers and did squeeze out a maximum that no one expected from them. On the road built and some puzzles, and excellent chases, and the battle with some bosses and even a few episodes of stealth, no matter how funny it sounded. Battles with drones are simple and straightforward - you just need to shy away from his projectiles along trajectories that are drawn in advance and shoot back. But the episodes are very small and so dynamic that they do not have time to annoy or annoy. Only a few times a game developers lose their sense of proportion and we are attacked by a sea of enemy equipment. But again, if you do not get distracted by boring side missions, then the batmobile in the game is just as much as it takes to enjoy it. But from the car, as from the means of transportation, the benefits are very doubtful, because it will fly much faster to the destination with the help of a cloak and a hook than to cut across the city street, scouring criminals. Therefore, those game moments, when we need to bring the detainee to the police station, seem to be just completely unnecessary. Of course, sometimes you just want to travel around the city, consider buildings, shops and cafes, ride through puddles and look at the splashes of water. But, dammit, I'll decide when to do this.
Small sandpit rooms can be traversed in several different ways, because it's not for nothing that Batman is hung with a lot of devices. The most interesting is to collect a bunch of enemies together, and then apply a new skill called Fear Takedown, during which Master Bruce, in a pathos slowdown, can knock out up to five opponents at a time. And you can also attack the villains with their own unmanned aircraft, hacking it at a distance, or spoil the pack of the medic so that when trying to cure his ally, he gets a charge of electricity. Yes, this stele can not be called super complicated, but it should not be underestimated, because the price of error is often very high. And the opponents are not idiots and immediately begin to react to your actions - to install mines and turrets, walk in pairs and look into the ventilation shafts. Such a variety of opportunities and types of enemies bribes, forcing to rejoice in every secret episode.
As a result. Of course, the game has drawbacks: the open world is filled with routine tasks, and the plot MAY seem to you a simple set of scenes, sometimes funny, and sometimes sad.
But if you look in general terms, then all these shortcomings fade in the background. You understand that this game drags you on and you are pleased to play it.
It is not known what the developers will do next, they will not be rocksteady, but so far they have managed to make one of the best games based on comics and the best game about Batman.
    I recommend to buy everything.

Best Arkham game to date. The are a lot of sections where you use the batmobile but I think it's necessary given that the Arkham City formula(Wandering around in cape + beat em up) is stale at this point. Otherwise it would be like Arkham Origins all again. Plus, the batmobile sections are fun and well done

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. In all honesty, the game really isn't even that good anyway, the game itself to me anyway, did not live up to the hype., Its nowhere near the levels of the first two games. The only good thing about it this game is the hand to hand combat, every thing else is horrible. There are spoilers in what I'm about to say, so do not read if you haven't beaten the game yet.

The boss fights are horrible, the only good Boss Fight in the game, is in the Redhood DLC and thats because Black Mask can't be taken down with one hit...he actually has a life bar and its actually a challenge,

The Batmobile is extremely annoying because its used for 90% of everything, You spend a good majority of times fighting tanks, which gets annoying and bothersome.

you HAVE to find all 200 something RIddler challenges and such to even fight the Riddler to actually beat the game. I'm sorry, I did it in A.A and when I saw the weak pay off in that, I didn't bother collecting the riddler stuff in A.C, I literally beat every villain in that game, Including saving Gotham from Scarecrow and I have yet to get the ending because I didn't collecting all the Riddler Trophies, So it really looks like I wont be beating the game, because im not wasting my time collecting Riddler crap. I did the first 9 Riddler Revenge challenges, I should have been able to fight him and beat him then. So since I didn't do the riddler trophy crap, I just resorted to watching the ending on youtube instead.

They built up Hush in Arkham City like something big would happen annnnnnnd....what happened? Lucius Fox hits him with a Lamp and Batman knocks him out with one punch. Whhhhhhhhhhhhy?

They made Deathstroke such a joke in that game., He always called Batman out for hiding behind his armory, what does Deathstroke show up in? Why a Tank of course.....and after you beat said tank, Deathstroke just hops out of his tank and blindly jumps at Batman, to get knocked out with one punch.....something Deathstroke would never do because he isn't a bumbling villain.....

You dont even fight Scarecrow, you walk around as The Joker in Batmans head, doing absolutely nothing most of the time, then you watch a cutscene of Batman over coming the fear toxin and he makes Scarecrow inject himself with his own fear toxin...I couldn't even get yet another boss fight that consisted of waves of enemies and atleast do that to Scarecrow afterwards?

Whats the point of putting the entire Batfamily in the game, when you can't even play as any of them for more than 5 minutes? Seriously? Like, after I beat this game, I can't just freely roam around Gotham as anyone? I could do that in Arkham City and I actually enjyed that different pace of playing as Catwoman, so why would you take out an awesome feature like that? You know how fun it would be for people to run around Gotham after they beat the game as Nightwing? or Robin? or the Readhood? or Catwoman?

OH.....and speaking of Redhood. Rocksteady said the Arkham Knight would be a completely NEW CHARACTER CREATED SPECIFICALLY FOR THEIR GAMES UNIVERSE.....Guess who the Arkham Knight is? Why its one of the oldest characters in Batman history of course, Jason Todd! That is...not a new character....that is a character that was created in 1983.....

Im happy Rocksteady is done with Batman, I feel they just fell victim to doing the same franchise and not working on anything else other then Batman. Hopefully their next game will let them set the bar in what an action game should be.

I could honestly listen to the Joker commentate about batman doing his job all day. The human combat scenes were fun and pretty enjoyable and similar to the last Arkham games while still seeming new and interesting. Completing storylines and missions was incredibly fun and mostly not tedious, with the exception of the riddler's storyline.

Cons: When the batmobile was initially introduced I was excited. The batmobile had a really cool combat system and was a lot of fun for the player. This combat system and the tank combat time, however, was COMPLETELY overused. In fact, it went from the point where I absolutely loved the tank gameplay to almost quitting the game because of it's repetitiveness. Another large con that brought this game down was the lack of boss battles. The tank boss battles were very anticlimactic, tedious, and, for a lack of better words, stupid. Death stroke beaten in a tank boss battle? Really? The last con is the lack of free roaming with catwoman. Catwoman free roaming in Arkham city was possibly the best idea in the entire Arkham series. With catwoman it feels like your playing a new game entirely while being just as fun. For some reason, though, game developers couldn't continue that in Arkham Knight, even though they let you play as catwoman in the riddler challenges.

Despite the three large cons, everything else about this game was really enjoyable. You really can't go wrong with a game in the Arkham series, especially considering that this is probably the worst out of the series and is still really enjoyable.

I also don't like how the pre-planned season pass seperated content that should have been in the game to begin with. There was great variety in side missions, but some of them went on for too long that it became a tedious grind to complete. And I think it's absolutely stupid how you need to 100% everything to get the best ending even if it makes sense for the sake of concluding the story.

And lastly, the riddles...some of the trophies are unattainable if you don't have the correct upgrade, making them missable if you sucked all the XP you can get out of the current playthrough, thus locking you out of the real ending, thus forcing you to play through New Game+ to get everything right. That is f***ing harsh, and something that should be patched immediately. Perhaps Rocksteady should let us players continuously earn XP from street fights, like in the previous games?

Despite my subjective and personal hatred towards this game, it is still a decent game in general that should keep you busy for at least a week. But it is a HUGE disappointment after what we got from Arkham Asylum and Arkham City. I am sad that this fantastic series is over...but at the same time, after playing this game, I also can't help but think - good riddance!

Unreal Engine 3 is aging and it hasn't really aged well, not into this new generation at least, so I think rocksteady is getting away with hiding the blemishes with the setting. Whatever the case, they did it well and it looks really good.

The problem, at least for me, is that the gameplay is more of the same Arkham series stuff with an (arguably) inferior control scheme. If you've played any of the games in the series, then you already know what the combat is like. Mash the right combos for the right enemies, hit evade when the warning prompt shows up over enemies' heads, pick up a weapon and free flow into using your gadgets. If you're a huge fan of the series, then you won't be disappointed except, maybe, for how Batman feels sluggish more than in the past. If you're looking for something new, you're in for a disappointment. EXCEPT FOR...

The Batmobile is finally here! Unfortunately, it's way overused to the point of frustration (looking at you, 7+ Cobra Tanks at once) and, really, it's just the same combat situation as on ground: Evade missiles when you see the prompts, fire your vulcan cannon and 60mm gun to build your combo meter, unleash your combos when you've built up enough. Different song but same dance. The camera following the Batmobile when in car mode is novel at first as it gives you a real sense of movie action hero gameplay but, because the Batmobile is used for way too many elements in the game, the camera starts to become a bothersome hindrance.

If you want the FULL ending, you MUST 100% the game. I will openly admit that I did not as I ended at 95.4% completion. I did everything BUT collect all 243(!) of the Riddler Trophies. I have better things to do with my time than collect 243 obscure trophies. Sorry Riddler, I have YouTube. The side quests are fun distractions that bring out a bunch of other super villains but some of them border on way too long - especially those gated by the story missions (watchtowers and road checkpoints, specifically).

All in all, I do feel I got my money's worth but I have a bit of buyer's remorse because I doubt I'm ever going to touch it again. The AR missions do give it a good bit of replay value, as does the New Game+, but after trekking through the main story and all the side missions, I really can't see myself going back to do it again or wanting to challenge myself in AR missions for minimal (or no) reward. It's better than most games have been of late, so there's that.. but most games of late have set the bar pretty low (Witcher 3 not withstanding).

What? Go back and play some 8 and 16 bit Batman for some context. These are the Batman games we DREAMED of back in the day. We've never had a Batman game like this, and especially not a Batmobile like this.

More of this and more of that are always welcome - but in Knight Batman is facing a militia takeover of Gotham City, and the Batmobile PERFECTLY compliments it in every way imaginable.

After seeing all the negative user reviews I was hesitant to get this game but I sure am glad I finally pulled the trigger. The main negative of the last two games was that it didn't expand on the gameplay enough. Well here is the Batmobile, an expansion to the gameplay. The main negative of the last two games was that it didn't expand on the gameplay enough. Well here is the Batmobile, an expansion to the gameplay. I don't mind it at all like some poeple, giving the game zeroes. OK, let's just get the two worst things about this game out of the way first.

-Tank Battles - easily the dumbest addition to the franchise. However, this is getting way overblown in negative reviews. I noticed there are many other things to do with the Batmobile, such as chasing down enemy vehicles and using it for some environmental puzzles. It's launching system is also super awesome, allowing you to effortlessly glide across huge swathes of the city. The game does not force you to drive the Batmobile, you can still choose to go on foot if you please. Also, the tank battles are not as frequent as advertised by those 0 reviews and they are very short most of the time.

-Riddler - After 3 games of this crap I think I've finally had it with the Riddler and his totally illogical puzzles. Unfortunately here he is again with more trophies and puzzle rooms which are easy, but many and tedious. Also, you need beat his stupid rooms to free a side kick. Touche Rocksteady. This dude somehow has the resources to build huge race track style death traps under the city. It's ludicrous. Worse villian of all time. The riddler should have never been more that the actual riddles that you need to solve by scanning in items in the environment. That has always been fun. The trophies and challenge rooms, not so much.

If you can get over those two things like I did, you will have a hell of a time with this game. The new fear takedown mechanic makes you really feel like the Batman. Throw a smoke bomb, take out three armed thugs, and then swoop back away before anyone sees you. It's awesome. The controls are tight and the closeups of the takedowns are nice and brutal.

The two main modes of combat, melee and predator, are completely intertwined now letting you choose what to do in any encounter. Stealth movement and grappling have been polished to fine sheen, letting you move effortlessly around and plan your moves. The gadgets are still plenty and a whole wealth of new options are at your disposal for taking out enemies. This is good because the enemies are smarter overall whether it's just regular melee combat or a predator room. There are also new types, like the medic who revives enemies you've already taken out. It lends some new strategy to think about. I have to say overall, the gameplay aspects are polished to near perfection in this game so you could just concentrate on being Batman. Gamepley wise, it's the best in the series by far. One detraction though, there still some camera issues during melee combat.

The story is also well done and all cutscenes are top notch. It's not my favorite Batman story, but I'm kind f a comics snob so there ya go. Batman purists have always found issues with Rocksteady's take, but it's their take and the production values certainly don't detract. Voice acting is top notch.

Environments are varied and you are tasked with some short puzzles in addition to beating down thugs as you move through the story. Certain areas also require some detective work, which has been enhanced a bit from previous games but still rather easy to figure out. Also let me add that the city overall is very well laid out with interesting nooks and cranny all over. From dank sewers to the highest point you'll never see the same things. The detail is simply superb. Great level design going on here, but some may feel the area is smallish, more on par with City than Origins. I don't mind that. I'd rather have interesting environments than some huge empty world like we saw in Arkham Origins.

There are a ton of side activities to do as well and the only negative I can say about them is they are required to be complete in order to see the real ending. That means Riddler and all his stupid trophies as well. However, the rest of the side missions are pretty robust and they don't feel tedious to do. Rocksteady will at times block of the pursuit of a side mission until you proceed further with the main story. I actually liked that, but some people will find it annoying. I found to be a good balance throughout the game.

Anyway, I guess I got a little long winded there. Long story short, if you loved the previous Arkham games you will absolutely love this game too. Don't worry about the tank battles, they are not that bad but definitely not "Batman" like. The Batmobile other than that is a fun tool to have at your disposal. I can't enough of the glide boost function. If you are on the fence like I was and if you loved City and Origins, just get it. It's a bigger and better version of Arkham City, which previously was my favorite. Honestly though, Riddler trophies. GAH! Why Rocksteady?

Really, I'd put it in my top 5 best Batman stories with The Dark Knight (Nolan), The Killing Joke (Moore), The Long Halloween (Loeb), and Hush (Loeb). -1 point for the over-emphasis on the Batmobile. -1 point for the over-emphasis on the Batmobile. The stealth tank battles are a little tedious, but they didn't greatly detract from the overall awesomeness of the experience. If everything else was simply as it had been in the previous game, I honestly would give this game a 10.

    However...

4 crappy combat challenge maps--no rounds either, just one continuous fight with new waves of enemies appearing mid-combat, which some may appreciate, but I prefer the old system--and 4 decent predator challenge maps. Previous games had 12 of each. Well, technically, there were 6 of each with "extreme" variations on the original 6 maps, but there were still 12 combat challenge map options and 12 predator challenge map options. Also, only Batman or another pre-determined player is playable in any of the challenge maps. Given that the previous game allowed us to play as Batman, Catwoman, Robin, or Nightwing in any challenge map, one would assume that the next game would expand, not reduce this feature. Furthermore, this feature should have been expanded, in my opinion, because this feature is what gives the game great replay value and is therefore the primary justification for buying it at day one prices. (Yes, there are other challenge maps involving basic gameplay and way too much crap with the Batmobile, but these just aren't as fun.)

Therefore, -2 points for the lack of challenge maps. Hopefully, this gets corrected with the Season Pass, but at a minimum, Rocksteady/WB Games should have notified fans about this when advertising the pre-orders.

Lastly, +1 point to compensate for the misguided PC gamers who have given this review a 0 because the PC version was totally botched. I totally agree that the PC version is a 0, but this page is for the PS4 version. Please post your 0 rating in the appropriate place, PC fans.

    In conclusion 10 - 1 - 2 + 1 = 8.

To be honest it has the best gameplay ever for a third-person action game. The Batmobile is a great way of getting around Gotham fast but when you upgrade the grapnel boost. The narrative is flawless as well. I liked the Arkham Knight as a character and Scarecrow was a great villain to compete with the perfect villain: The Joker. There is plenty to do in this game as well, the side missions in the game are a nice distraction to dilute your way for the main story. Overall, this game is perfect. Absolutely Perfect. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The game is pretty solid with brilliant gameplay and fantastic game design. The city itself looks very detailed and the new batsuit looks quite fantastic as well. The combat is every bit as fun with new combos and new variations in thugs. The story is good enough, not as good as City. The villains seemed very dull with limited apperances. The reveal of the Arkham Knight was pretty obvious and the character itself is quite weak. The lack of boss fights is a negetive as all the confrontation between batman and the villains were demostrated through cutscenes. Another problem is the overuse of the Batmobile. Granted the batmobile is quite fun to do combat with when you are taking out enemy drones but the racing sequences do get a bit annoying at times. The side missions are fun but can feel repetitve at times. Also you cannot see the full ending unless you have completed all side missions.
To sum up the game does a good job of ending the franchise on a high and truly there weren't that many negetives aside from the ones I mentioned which are very subjective and can also be taken positively by some people.

I would truthfully give this game a 9/10 as well. First off, let me state that this game is absolutely beautiful, it tells an engaging and harrowing story, and plays incredibly well in both combat and stealth. The negative point that I will give to this otherwise fantastic game is that it takes a little too long to rev up to a consistently varied and dynamic experience. During the first 20 minutes you're engaged in an interesting story but it takes another hour to open up the world in a meaningful way. The initial batmobile combat is not very interesting and felt like a chore and the initial mobs went down without any thought except smash X and Triangle. However, once you start getting into the open world, upgrading your batmobile, this game is fantastic.

They mix up batmobile gameplay in the same way they do with regular gameplay with stealth missions against superpowered tanks, with a hacking system that allows you to take control of drones, with chase sequences with a particular supervillain, and with some of the most thrilling and entertaining race sequences devised by the riddler. The hand to hand combat quickly ramps up with new threats being constantly introduced and devious combinations of giants, gunmen, stun rod wielders, shield bearers, medics and others. The story itself never lets up with an series of crescendo set pieces that even have minor breaks for you to pursue the secondary criminals.

All of this doesn't mention the stunning graphics. This is easily one of the best looking games out there right now and with no load times as you zip around from rooftop to rooftop, it's truly a next-gen experience. Overall, this game may come slow out of the gates gameplay wise, it quickly transforms into one of the best games of this generation.

The story is great, the side quest are plentiful and the game makes you feel like the world's greatest detective. However, the game decides to ruin everything. All of Batman's enemies are free following the disaster of Arkham City but your only able to fight against a handful of them. To add insult to injury the boss battles are by far the weakest of the series. Several of the boss battles consist of Batmobile fights, aka and generic tank battle. Personally, I was hoping it would be this way as it was all so perfect in the previous two titles.

If there was something I can pick on, it would be that the Batmobile can feel a bit clunky, but that aside the Batmobile is badass, it has a perfect place for this game and its so good to see it in use.
I've notice people are complaining that it is "over used."
It belongs to Batman. It is iconic. It's supposed to show usefulness in a driven and highly engaging environment. Again this is opinionated, but I honestly didn't feel that was a problem at all. Infact, I LOVE all the car chases.

I didn't seem to realise this, but there was a lack of boss fights in the game. I was so engaged in the story and combat to really notice, but I can understand others who may have seen this as a downfall.

    In a nutshell:
    Pros:
    - Excellent Story telling
    - Amazing graphics
    - Combat system is still epic as usual. The core mechanic is left the same so you wont be disappointed if you liked it in the other games.
    - Upgrade system is more refined and makes you think more on what to upgrade to assist your situation at the time
    - The same gadgets are back, including some new arrivals/enhancements which are really cool.
    - The Batmobile is badass. Enjoy cleaning up the streets.

    Cons:
    - Some gadgets can be underused. I didn't feel I needed to explore through them often as I should have. (The line launcher did have much need at all)
    - Batmobile controls and movement can feel a bit clunky
    - Side quests can get a bit tedious.

    Overall, another masterpiece for 2015.
Arkham Asylum has been my personal favorite, but there is so much to love in this game. Rocksteady again, continue to make legendary games that will go down as the some of the best superhero titles to ever be released.

Batman: Arkham Knight is the conclusion to Rocksteady's critically acclaimed "Arkham" trilogy. And boy is it a worthy ending at that!

Batman: Arkham Knight is the conclusion to Rocksteady's critically acclaimed "Arkham" trilogy. And boy is it a worthy ending at that!

Let me start with the basic stuff: the graphics are AMAZING! I've never seen so good graphics on the PS4 before! THIS is a next-gen game without a doubt! It's even better than the likes of Assassin's Creed Unity or Witcher 3. The details are just astounding. You can clearly see the rain on Batman, or if he's inside and dry. The buildings also looks great and the neon lightning from the streets make it feel like an authentic big city by night. All of the other characters are also very detailed, even more than they were in Arkham City. Everything just looks astoundingly beautiful, no doubt.

Having played both of the previous Arkham games, Rocksteady had a lot to live up to. Not just gameplay wise but story wise too. Now keep in mind that I know "some" about Batman from the comics, but only what I read online. I am NOT a comic fan! I'm just a regular gamer and Batman fan. The story serves perfect as the final outing of the Dark Knight, in my mind. Batman taking on Scarecrow and the Militia feels real and authentic as a final threat. This time Batman has to give his everything, and he does. Now there is also the Arkham Knight - the titular villain. I love his design, and his voice. He is believable as the greatest threat to Batman that he is in the beginning of the game (next to Scarecrow), since he knows everything about him, and he leads the militia and aids them by pointing out his weaknesses etc.

Then there is the biggest new gameplay feature: the Batmobile. Some people whine about it being used too much, but I disagree. This is Rocksteady's final Batman game, and they said from the beginning that they wanted to incorporate the Batmobile in the finale and put a lot of their focus on there. It shows that they did. The driving is miles better than in games like GTA 5, or Watch_Dogz. It feels much more fluid and you can use the breaks at full speed without crashing into everything. The tank mode seems to be the biggest complaint for some reason. I highly enjoyed all of the tank battles, and all of the riddler challenges which required the Batmobile. It felt nice for some diversity. I think the only people who don't like it, are people who say they want change, but hate it when it happens. Or just because they suck at it. Either way, as another reviewer pointed out, maybe you should just continue playing CoD or other games that has barely been changed in the last 10 years, if you like repetitiveness so much. Some people just can't seem to be pleased with anything sadly.

The combat is polished and you receive new moves and gadgets, which you will use a lot on your final journey. There are numerous ways to take down your enemies, either stealthy or just going all out. Again, adding some nice diversity if you like me, appreciate games that are not too repetitive.

The side missions are also awesome. I like the new "Most Wanted" mode, where you have a "main baddie" attached to every line of side missions, and you have to complete X number of missions in that line to get to him. Like the Penguin or Two-Face missions, where you work your way up to them, by spoiling their robberies/weapons caches so you can beat them and arrest them afterwards. Or when you have to destroy strategic militia outposts in order to gain full control of the islands, to get GCPD to patrol again. There are many sorts of side missions, so even after you've beaten the story which is fairly long by itself, you still have plenty of stuff to do afterwards. I love that Rocksteady sort of "forces" you to complete all of the missions, because by doing so, you get to activate "Knightfall protocol" which reveals the true ending. You can complete most of them and activate it, and get the partial ending and you can complete 100% and get the full ending afterwards. A great motivation to get you to complete everything, since nothing is tedious to do. Maybe except for some of the Riddler challenges.

The only downside to an otherwise perfect game, are the rather disappointing boss battles. This is where the Batmobile could've been used a little less IMO. But it's not so bad that the rest of the game is ruined.

Batman: Arkham Knight is without a doubt, the greatest game I've played in many many years. And I've played games for 12 years now. While games like GTA 5 and the Witcher 3 are both great games in their own right, they don't really have a lot of replay value. Arkham Knight is one of the very few games I can see myself playing just for the fun of it in a year or two again from now. I've already completed the game 200% (new game plus), and I still can't get enough. If Arkham Asylum was a 9.0 and Arkham City was a 9.5, then Arkham Knight is a solid 10, there's no doubt about it! If you haven't already gotten the game, do yourself a massive favor and buy this gem. I guarantee you won't regret it.

The Arkham series is the prove of how great super hero videogames can be when they're not mindless cash-in but how did this episode (the first on PS4) fared ?

Technically the game is beautiful and flawless on PS4 (yes I'm well aware of the problems on PC but I'm not reviewing this version of the game), it was probably the best looking game on this generation (exclusives aside) when it came out, the animations are also superb, a great job from Rocksteady (they didn't manage the PC version).

Concerning the gameplay the fighting system is still absolutely fun, the action never stops, there's a good variety of combo and the controls are responsive. The stealth part is also very well manage with lot of possibilities to deal with them. And for the driving, the main novelty of this episode it is also very well down, the bat-mobile is as reactive and powerful that you'll dream of , unfortunately they over did it a little and you use it a bit too much in the game and you can be bored with it during time.

The story is once again marvelous, Batman fan or not everybody will be committed to it, with some nice twists. There's also a lot of side activities to do (like I said a bit too much of bat-mobile in them, but also some great ones) that brings variety and length to the game ( around 50 hours for 100%).

So in conclusion Arkham Knight on PS4 is great game prevented from perfection only by an overdose of bat-mobile (but I can understand them, it must have been like hell to program it as good as they did) but every super hero lovers must play this game (as well as the whole Arkham series).

This is a load of crap. While I WOULD prefer owning City over Asylum, due to a bigger map and a much broader spectrum of things to do, and quests to complete, I would undoubtedly Prefer owning Arkham Knight over any other game in the franchise.

Origins was a good game, maybe not as good as Knight, but it was certainly better than Asylum, in terms of map size, detail, and quests, and did improve somewhat on the gameplay of City, with different gadgets, new enemies, (such as the martial artists) that only helped to improve the overall game. The people saying Origins sucks are just repeating what others are saying, regardless of whether they played the game or not. And as a fan of the franchise, I would put Origins Second to last on a scale of the games, Asylum being the last, City the second, and Knight the First.

The gameplay is much more immersive, the storytelling is grittier and darker than previous titles, but this only helps to create a living world around you, making you feel as if you really are batman grapelling through the skyline, and ending thugs left and right.

The batmobile is definitely not overused (xD), And having just completed the main Most Wanted quest, I hadnt even thought about the overuse of the batmobile till I got to this reviews site.

The batmobile opens up the door to a whole new array of missions and puzzles, making quests such as the riddler a much more diverse and puzzling ordeal.

The buttons were redone, and it is dissapointing that I could not switch R2/L2 with R1/L1 seeing as how this is the way i had done it the entire franchise.

The controls, you will get used to though, and once you master every new move that batman has in his arsenal, such as gadget takedowns and combat maneuvers, you will no doubt feel a connection between yourself, and the game.

The graphics are richly detailed, enticing you to exit your batmobile in places such as the Subway terminals, and look around.

Everything feels as if it has a story to it, and I even caught myself wondering at one point, what the story was behind a store, or a dark street, or even an overturned car!

Despite this, the side missions are mostly great, but some of them do get repetitive and were missed on my first playthrough, especially the ones involving the mines in the city. The batmobile is a great fun and some of the puzzle elements that utilise this feature are cleverly conceived. The combat is more or less the same as previous incarnations, but if it ain't broke, don't fix it. It works really well. Overall, great game - lots of variety with the missions, graphics are great but some of the side missions could have been better.
I did get the DLC codes for the Red Hood and Harley Quinn packs. Don't pay extra for these, they are largely terrible. I finished both of them in little over an hour.

The missions are mostly varied and fun throughout the entire game. The gadgets menu, main menu, map and mission menu are all smooth and very easy to navigate. Gliding around the city somehow feels even better than in Arkham City and Gotham City is really well done, it's a blast to explore it.

Now, the most talked about and most controversial feature in this game is without a doubt the batmobile. Some people hated it, I actually thought it was fun. Driving around the city is fun and it handles ALMOST perfectly. (The last Ridler track was a pain in the ass). Many are complaining that they want less "World of Tanks" in their Batman-game, and I can understand that. Cause a sizable amount of time is spent in tank combat, so if you don't like that you may wan't to think twice about this game. But, I would say I enjoyed the tank combat about 70-80% of the time, because it's really well done tank combat. You really feel like a badass when you take down 20-30 tanks on your own.

So to sum it all up, this game is almost perfect for me. The story's ending and a tiny bit too much tank combat are my only two complaints really. Ah wait, the fact that you have to collect all one hundred thounsand friggin' million Ridler trophies to get the complete ending is also a big let down... But none of that holds this back from beeing a fantastic game. No brainer if you are a Batman fan, and if you like video games in general you should also pick up this game, it's a blast! 9/10

Rocksteady has promised there will be added focus on main gameplay with added villains and mission via DLC in the coming months, which I'm sure will balance things out as far as that problem is concerned. When all is said and done; without disclosing details on the story, this is enjoyable from the start to finish. The Freeflow combat system has come through improved again, with new ways to take down enemies and a fresh 'fear' takedown system which was really awesome to use, allowing Batman to take down multiple enemies granted they can't see you coming, which frankly makes a lot of the far more overwhelming and challenging combat missions more manageable. And for any fellow paranoid gamers out there like myself I will set your mind at ease in saying that this game managed to escape the Mass Effect 3 curse of having a terrible ending for a third game, as after you've poured hours into getting that 100% completion the ending is very fulfilling. When standing up to the other two in the series (Origins doesn't count) I can't help but say that it is equal to Arkham City in brilliance. Deserving of a 9/10, I'm gutted to see this fantastic series end. Expand

    The Good:
    That awesome Scarecrow voice.
Great voice acting all around too (though why a new voice for Gordon and another new voice for Barbara?)
Gotham is massive, beautiful and vibrant. Even without it's normal citizens it just feels amazingly alive.
    Combat is better than ever.
    Predator is better than ever.
Tons of new gadgets, upgrades and fun new puzzle solving.
Great universe building and reincorporation from past games and the Batman mythology.
    Story has some amazing setpieces.
When the Batmobile works, its works well.
Dual tag-team battles and puzzles are great.

    The Bad:
The return of "you know who" was good, but they used him way too much. Would've been better in smaller doses.
I hated the batmobile at first and though I've come around and enjoy it way more than the majority of people (or so it seems) the game still relies on it too much.
Although some individual parts of the story are downright brilliant the overall plot when looked at as a whole is fairly wonky and convoluted.
    The Bad: Nitpicks:
Could see that twist coming a mile away. It was still satisfying to watch unfold, but even if you're not a batman fan you're gonna figure it out long before the reveal.
RET-CON ALERT - Wait...but they had a cure in Arkham City....So what happened? The Writers: "F**k it."
Not a huge deal, but no real boss battles. At least none as good as Arkham City.

Solid 10.. This is the most fun I've had on the PS4 yet. The gameplay is similar to the previous Arkham games only with the added Batmobile. This game is fantastic. I struggle to understand how anybody could give a negative review, other than pc players who are having to deal with a broken game. It is an Arkham game at its core, and provides a similar experience to previous instalments, whilst incorporating enough new gameplay to keep it fresh.

Although I have not yet finished the main story, it appears well thought out and the Arkham Knight himself as solid an addition to the DC universe as ever there was. As I'm sure others have said, the game does over-utilise the Batmobile, it does not in any way take away from the experience of the game. The world is rich and detailied, making free-roaming as fun as in 'City'.

I considered giving this game less than 10 but I don't feel that the negative reviews are justified and so want to bring its score up to what it deserves to be.

It really all comes down to one thing. If you love the Batmobile, this game is a 9 or 10. If you don't, it's a 7... I didn't. I think there is generally too much racing/chasing and too many repetitive tank battles. I also thought that the stealth tank parts were absolutely brutal. Like City, the combat and predator parts are excellent but I personally feel that the Batmobile was Subtraction by Addition. Expand

Guys, this isn't this pc version so stop giving it negative scores. This is the ps4 version. Yes, this game is not perfect but I like it. The game is engaging and fun, it may not be as good as the first two Arkham games but it is still a lot of fun to play.

Once again, Rocksteady really did a great job with the final installment of the arkham franchise. Batman: AK looks gorgeous in the 1080p resolution, especially when rain drops are shined with bright lights and neon signs. 30 fps does not bother me at all, as it is minimum standard for passing IMO.

months after the death of the joker, Scarecrow threats the gotham city with his newest fear toxin. It is up to batman to stop Scarecrow along with his mysterious collaborator, the Arkham Knight.

Combat has improved a lot. The ability to use takedown on multiple enemies while in slow really immerses you of being batman. fighting along side of you are Robin(Tim Drake), Nightwing, and Catwoman. triggering dual takedown with these guys are very cinematic and awesome.

As always there are loads of side activities, collectables, and side quests to keep you busy besides main quest. Gotham city is yours to explore freely.

So if I like the game so much, why 8/10 and not 10/10? Batmoblie, that's why. Now, don't get me wrong, the bat mobile design is very cool and speeding through the streets is fun, but the controls are awkward. Why have accelerate at R2 and have brake/reverse on Square button? Most driving games have brakes on L2. This new control takes really long time to used to and it will screw you over, especially when chasing enemy vehicle or trying to make it in time at Riddler race tracks. L2 activates tank mode, but you have to hold it. Again, why not toggle? why hold L2?

Conclusion: If you ignore batmobile's terrible control, this is a great game. Don't let the PC BrokenRace discourage you. They're just mad because the game crashes constantly

I don't understand why so many negative critics. I seriously think that this is the best Arkham game. There is plenty of things to do in many ways you want. Examples:

Also, the quests that Nigma gives to you are very, very fun and complicated. The game mechanics like combat system, camera, good voice acting and tons of action makes you feel like YOU ARE THE BATMAN.

Graphics are incredible, one of the best graphics i've ever seen. There are a lot of details around you, destruction with the batmobile is epic, makes it so powerful but at the same time vulnerable to other tanks.

This game deserves better reviews, this game doesn't diserve lower than 7.0

One of the best 'next-gen' games i've ever purchased. The mechanics are solid, the graphics are gorgeous, the story is great, and the mechanics are very enjoyable. Almost NO LOADING screens. You load in the game initially, and then you never hit another load unless you get Batman killed - failing missions usually doesn't even require a load.

So firstly, I am not grading this game at all based on the controversy surrounding the removal of the PC version. Whether or not it was a wise decision is a matter of opinion, and the situation does not degrade the games polish on consoles.

SO with that being said, this game surprised me a little. I was very much expecting more of the same tried and true Arkham formula. It is there for sure, but the addition of the Batmobile and some downright brilliant voice work and writing was enough to immerse me in the world of Gotham once more. Add to that some nifty new gadgets and a larger playground full of more to see and do than ever before, and you have a worthy conclusion to the first truly worth Batman series.

Now that being said, it is a lot of the same song and dance. Plot twists are abundant, and even somewhat surprising. I won't spoil anything here, but the problem Batman faces this time around is a unique one, that manifests itself in some very creative and memorable ways.

Its got a good length, with a main story that will last about 14-15 hours straight through, but enough side missions and unlockables to keep you busy for dozens more. A wider variety of AR missions makes leaderboards relevant, but is the only aspect to multiplayer.

I see some sloppy animations from time to time, which normally I would consider nitpicking, but this being the final entry I feel these problems should be worked out by now. Rocksteady said themselves that they were not looking to make the largest game ever, but a decent sized sandbox focused on detail. They succeeded.

    8/10, Its gorgeous, its well-written/voiced, it....is.....BATMAN!

Batman: Arkham Knight presents a technically proficient and overall satisfying ending to the Arkham series, but suffers from overuse of the novelty item Batmobile and extremely repetitive tank battles. [Aug 2015]

Batman: Arkham Knight is the best looking game in the series so far, and includes a lot of cool stuff for fans of Batman. But at the same time it’s starting to feel like Rocksteady is almost too comfortable. It lacks new content, except the pretty bad designed Batmobile parts. If you haven’t played the previous games that much you will probably think that this is one of the best games this year.
