Nothing much to say about this really. Everything is perfect. It's easily the greatest War Shooter ever. The shooting is perfect, the graphics are amazing, the audio is the best in gaming. There isn't much of any bugs anymore thanks to DiCE's patches (not that there we're much glitches to begin with). Tone of guns and equipment, big emphasis on team work. There's just nothing to say. It's perfect.

This game is hands down the best first person shooter money can buy. If anyone Else's score is lower than a 10, then they are either MW3 children or so virgin to the realism that their brains can not comprehend the greatness.

Forever i have wanted a shooter that could rival call of duty. Being a loyal fan of bf2 i went into bf3 expecting great things, and i got them!. The most realistic shooter to date, award winning sound, has won bf3 the rightful place as king of the shooters :)

I've played almost all the battlefield games since 1942 and i must say, this is amazing, Multiplayer simply excelled my expectations. Don't expect the graphics of battlefield 3 on the PS3 to be super high resolution than our lovely PC platform since the PlayStation is something like 7 years old. The game runs smoothly, with some hiccups. Great maps, decent selection of guns. overall Awesome game.

Just going to keep this short and sweet. Great game. Funnest FPS to date. Lots of people will disagree with me for 1 reason and 1 reason only. THEY ARE CALL OF DUTY LOVERS AND HATE EVERYTHING ELSE. That is why this game has over 5,000 0 - 3 ratings. This is way better. WAY bigger maps and more vehicles!

Probably the best teamwork in a shooter, even without headphones and mics. Con's; There are many weapons in the game but in the end you will be using just a few of them, in conquest maps sometimes air vehicles becoming overpowered, ticket system & ressurecting players (medic) can be annoying and open to exploiting. Great game over all. In my opinion the best part of the game is the multiplayer, because you really feel like you are part of a goal. When you think about it you working together could be the cause of winning or loosing. I feel that Dice made a very strong game and really like that they keep on making updates, patches and DLC (downloadable content), to supply you with new content like maps and also guns. The only thing that I believe that they could have improved upon was making it so that the damage of the bolt action snipers would kill in one hit, but only if you hit the person above the waste. It just felt like the snipers were pretty under powered, because the final sniper still only killed in one hit if you hit them in the head. (if a sniper fires a 50cal. round then even a few inches away from the body would rip the flesh right off of them. This I felt was like smacking all snipers in the face when a realistic game wouldn't be realistic towards snipers) I believe that their reason was that they did not want to make the snipers over powered, but instead they made them under powered. Over all It is a great game and I recommend it. Just know that if you like to snipe the rifles might make you mad when you hit someone in the upper chest and they do not die. Lastly the story was about an 8.5/10 in my opinion.

A muslim betrays the US Army, I am shocked, and plans on detonating the nukes in the west so it can go to war with Russia, which many people are speculating that it happened, which is where the MP of this games comes in place. Enough about the story though. Controls were a bit weird compared to other shooters, since the circle to crouch was replace with R3, which at the beginning was really weird, but once you get into it, very very smooth controls with great gameplay. Weapon designs and sounds were in another league. Call of Duty MW3 looks and sounds cheap compared to BF3. The multiplayer was also the best in the series, very balanced.

Couple this with interesting game modes not found in other mil-FPS's and you have a recipe for game longevity that will make the $60 price tag seem like a bargain.

For those not sure if they will like this, if you've enjoyed any of these games -Call of Duty 4:Modern Warfare, Battlefield 2, Bad Company 2, Red Orchestra, and GTA:IV - I really feel that BF3 has taken it to another level. I bring GTA:IV into the equation as BF3 has so much mayhem and depth for all of the vehicles presented plus you get a sense of freedom from the large scale.

I think some of the complaints have merit (ie. some graphics issues, overly bright flashlights, ho-hum single player) and I think DICE could address some of these. But when you look at the full scope of the multiplayer it doesn't take away from what there is. I was actually quite surprised that they were able to get the PS3 to pull this off. The bad size is, lack of resolution, lower textures, nowhere near as realistic lighting effects (but still good), no anti-aliasing. I know the PC Version must be incredible, but the game mechanics are intact on the console. The animation look identical and some of the modelling is quite good given the PS3s limitations. Also the lower player count is okay, but DICE have ensured the maps are balanced. Some map areas may be a bit smaller, but be reassured, these maps are still huge even compared to Bad Company 2. There may be even some benefits of having the console version (albeit minor) such as having an integrated server browser/filter. You need to use the server browser to get into the Hardcore modes or smaller infantry frays. CoD players should give this a go - you can even have infantry only servers if you want. What I like about BF3 (and Bad Company 2 for that matter) over CoD is the destruction, suppressive fire, and battle effects that really effect how you play. You don't feel like you are fighting in rat maze.

Hard to believe Destructoid gave this a 7.5 and gave Killzone 3 a 9?! KZ3 was graphically and sonically beautiful but unfortunately marred by spawn camping madness, godlike radar, predictable maps, and unbalanced sniper class. Its multiplayer has nothing on BF3 or even BC2. Also, those who enjoy tactical shooters or realistic shooters such as ArmA2 may find they really like BF3, as though not nearly realistic tactically, BF3s immersive elements of visual, audio and 'battlefield' effects bring a level of psychological immersion not seen before. To me this is almost the perfect game. I don't think Dice have 'sold out' or been tainted by EA or big money. If anything, they've both suffered and succeeded for being so ambitious.

Those not wishing to shell out $1000 or more for a new game rig will find that BF3 on the PS3 will tide you over - until next year or after, when even mid-range PCs deliver the graphical guts required to render this game in its full glory. BF3 comes just at the right time with winter around the corner. I'm tempted by MW3 as well, but really, the amount of gaming hours available in BF3 are staggering - there are probably 100s of hours here, and with new maps on their way, a massive tech-tree of unlocks, this has the potential to be a seriously dangerous habit.

On the PS3, players will notice that DICE has implemented a server browser which makes it all the more easy to select games you want to get into. With the addition of prone, jets, flashlights, melee kill animations and falling debris that can kill you, this game definitely adds new content to the Battlefield series. Rush and Conquest remain as the primary game types which encourage players to forget about personal kill/death ratios and go for the greater good of the team. Seeing your team emerge victorious just seems to be more gratifying than boasting about how you got a ton of kills and only a handful of deaths; that sort of thing is done in another not so unfamiliar FPS game. What many veterans of the franchise may not like is how the game has been injected (or infected, if you will) with a certain style of play not original to Battlefield. An example would be the playstyle on the map Operation Metro. This map is devoid of vehicles, turrets or anti-air guns. What usually occurs is a short skirmish o gunfights that leave the player thinking "Hey, what I've just played through doesn't feel so much like Battlefield is supposed to feel like". I'm not mentioning any other game but I just disliked the fact that BF3 sort of tried to be like other FPS games when it excelled best when it presented it's unique style of the FPS genre. That being said, BF3 boasts its addictive multiplayer experience and should definitely be one of the games you get this year. Maybe even for Christmas. Pros and Cons +Addictive and powerfully engrossing multiplayer +Great graphics on the PS3 +Improved internet connection from BFBC2 +Battlelog which tracks your stats and also your friends' is a welcome addition. Best part is that it's free -Sometimes gameplay tends to imitate other FPS and it does not suit BF3 -Coop seemed unnecessary and a bit uninspired -If you've played a lot of FPS campaigns, BF3's bet seems like a hodge-podge of campaigns, not an entirely unique and new adventure Expand

Battlefield 3 and Dice step up and in my mind easily top COD: MW3. The new Frostbite 2 engine enhanced the graphics and physics in the game. The story is good but it is to short to me and this is the main reason it got a 9 instead of 10. The multiplayer is great and is very easy to get into the game unlike COD were it has taken me over 10 minutes to join a COD online game. It is the better buy.

This game has a poor singleplayer and poor co-op but the multiplayer is some of the best I've played. From wide open landscapes to cramped urban areas, this game has excellent variety. This is the same for the modes, weapons and vehicles. It's also the most addictive battlefield game I've ever played due to the much better levelling up system. If you're here for great multiplayer this game is a MUST buy but if you're not this game isn't for you at all. Although the singleplayer is poor, it doesn't really matter, people probably won't even play it anyway. My problems with this game is the lacking co-op and the few techincal issues, but these few shortcomings are towered by the excellent and polished multiplayer. An amaing 9/10. Expand

After playing Modern Warfare, I tried to give a chance to the other side, and bought this game with the knowledge that "it might suck too". I heard good things about it, but I prefer to try them myself, And Thank God, they were all true: this game is fun! Not flawless, sure, but it's a huge step forward in comparison with Modern warfare 3. I'll mostly talk about the multiplayer because I haven't finished the single player campaign, but with that I mainly ahve one complaint: the story is realistic, ok, but it's too fragmented and it's hard to follow, and it's also a bit repetitive. And I heard it's also short. Anyway, the multiplayer of this game is fantastic: there are various modes which are actualy well made, and the maps fit perfectly the various modes (infact, it's basically the same place, just divived or restricted depending on the type of game). Of course the "main" mode is actually conquest, which you use tanks, cars, choppers and even planes to fight the other faction; then there is rush, which is a capping/defense mode; Team Deathmatch, which basically one faction against the other, and Squad Deathmatch, which is 4 squads against each others. Unfortunely there is no free for all here, and it's a bit of disappointment because, I think, it's a team based game, but yet the classes are...the same. They only differ from weapons and accessories, but not even much of that because some classes can use the same weapons (like the shotgun): they have almost everything identical and none of them has a superior stat or whatever (they have the same health too). Maybe I'm wrong though so take me lightly! Coming back to the Multiplayer, as usual you gain experience and gain both ranks and class levels, as well specific levels for any kind of vehicle you use, encouraging to play more and more a single class and vehicle: the reward is extra perks for your vehicles, weapons and moe accessories for your weapons to attach. I honestly don't like grinding, but this game does one thing right: it really encourages you to try everything. Once you get few unlocks, you hardly change your weapons, because you'll want to discover what more you can use, and I honestly enjoyed unlocking most of them for my weapons...even though some don't really differ a lot, but actually they differ from other internal stats, like the recoil, the speed of shooting, some accesories, range of the bullets: this actually makes you try every gun you have in order to see what fits you most, and it'll make you unlock more attachments (and starts, that shows you how much you've used it). There are perks also for vehicles, as I said, although that can be only done in few modes only, and here I noticed ONE big problem with the vehicle perks: it's HARD! I played for more than a month, but I still didn't manage to unlock the first perk for most of my vehicles, and unfortunely the missiles are the first to unlock: until then, have fun shooting down your enemies with a minigun! Also, in conquest mode the vehicles will be a huge hassle, because they can (of course) be hurt only by rocket launchers, mines, and explosives in general, downgrading the roles of your soldiers, unless they use tanks as well. There's also a co-op mode in which you play 6 different mission with an online companion, and I'll probably suck saying that "they are pretty hard!". However, playing co-op is encouraged because you unlock special weapons that can't be unlocked in the normal multiplayer, and it's not even that much hard. It's time well spent, in other words. Sorry for the wall of texts, but this game is huge and I really gotta say that this game is very, very well made, with very good maps where you can see the cure in details (and the frostbite2 engine shows it), a good "grinding" system that it's not bad and it's at least enjoyable, and (at least to me) a good netcode on the ps3 (infact I barely lagged and I just Dc'd 3 times in total). Only big loss is maybe that you won't be able to play with more than 24 players, making conquest mode a bit....loose, but that actually benefit any other type of gameplay. I really enjoy playing this game so far, and If anyone had a doubt between this and Modern Warfare 3, I'll simply say that "what MW3 does, BF3 does it better". Expand

I swear this being my first Battlefield game purchase Im def satisfied. There's only one problem the chat doesnt seem to work effectively. But the way this game is built its made to last year for the entire year going into 2012. All building are capable of being destroyed. It felt like I was in Saving Private Ryan when I shot a rocket a Tank and he turn around and blew half the floor out on Seine Crossing. The guns and sounds are live action, especially if your playing with surround sound. Your handgun is capable of taking out two guys with one clips, this is unheard of in COD. These makes the game so more realistic. And the teamwork it takes to win makes the game so much fun, even tho there isnt much communication thru the game b/c I guess the chat system, everyone is usually on course when it comes to the objectives of the game. I was the gunner in the tank and I had a guy driving the take and we were just calling tangos out I would shoot in the direction and he would blow the area up with the M8 shells. Here another cool thing, I ran into a building on Noshahr Canals, I guy parachuted onto the top of the warhouse, it was no way for me to reach him to I just went in the building and blew the roof of, he came falling thru and I shot em dead. There's so many different situations to get kills, its def a fun game to play. Take this from a Socom 2 and 3 player whos's use to 3rdPS and only having one life per round. Call of Duty is a fun game and is addicting, but after WaW, they seem perfectly content on putting out the same exact game just with different tweaks, how much more can gamers take before they get fed up with it. If you love online shooters, this game is for you. It has vast maps, hundreds of variations of perks, vehicles, and killing tools. But in this title, it simplifies the formula in a good way and adds Team Deathmatch, which I found was a shocking absence in BF2 especially if you weren't up to a 20 minute match. This title is a beautiful blend of realism which mixes the likes of COD and Tom Clancy titles together. The online is simply.... perfect. However, the story... not so much. Lots of times with these new shooters... they make an amazing online experience but make a lackluster campaign, which has set the bar low. And although BF3's online is amazing and makes up for it, BF3 is just too comfortable just settling for that low bar.... Expand

Audio is superb. Having a grenade explode right next to you with surround sound turned on and the bass pumped up is nothing short of audiophilic bliss. With four game modes(Rush, conquest, squad rush, squad deathmatch) and huge maps/vehicles, the multiplayer portion of this game is such a breath of fresh air when compared to COD's archaic deathmatch types. Jets flying overhead, tank shells exploding and tearing holes in buildings as you run by them to get to the next capture point is quite simply gaming nirvana in my opinion, and well worth the price of admission alone. Partying up is easier than was in the beta, though playing co-op should be done with friends only to avoid being kicked from the game when the other person decides they have something more important to do. As far as the single player campagin goes, well, it's not great by any stretch of the imagination, but there are a few points during the campaign that really show off the Frostbite 2 engine, but other than that everything's pretty by the books. The online part of this game is awesome, this is the first BF game I have EVER played and I am very very satisfied. It actually feels like a, well... BATTLE. COD is great also, these are two different games. Just depends on what you're looking for, and this is the type of game that I prefer. Actual battles that depend on tactics and team work, just like in real life. Don't believe it when some people say "oh the maps are too big, there is no action", the maps are perfect and there is PLENTY of action.

Don't believe in perfect scores for games so a 9 it is.

The AI is weak and while I have no complaints about the game being linear, but the way in which certain battles play out are quite poor and I quickly lost faith in the campaign. I played on hard difficulty in a hope to compensate for the AI. The first couple of missions I was impressed with, until i reached 'Guillotine', which I found very dull, and was disappointed in endless wave after wave of infinite enemies until a certain point on the map had been reached (I'm guessing that this was an issue in earlier levels but didn't experience it)...from that point I lost interest, as I felt each battle after this point I was unsure whether there was a set number of enemies I had to defeat or simply reach a HUD marker to stop the respawining. This kind of game play is really unrewarding and unsatisfying. The story on the whole I think was pretty good, people criticise it...and yeah it's not that original but I mean how to you make a modern fps story original? It's all been done before..but the way DICE deliver the experience is damn good apart from the negative points mentioned above. Tone and atmosphere at times are spot on.

Onto the multiplayer. A straight 9 here! It's got scale, epic battles and the Frostbite 2 engine really shines. I'm a CoD bloke really, but I'm sold on this title. Vehicle combat is great, the classes seem pretty even and all have their uses, there is a counter for pretty much everything, so it doesn't feel unbalanced and no quick scoping! (that I've seen). Definitely worth a purchase. Best game I've played in my opinion since MW2.

And all the people I've seen complaining about the rental not containing multiplayer, don't be such a tight arse and just buy the **** game.

Yes, its not 64 players, but you know what? Its one hell of a fun game in multiplayer. Heres some positives: I'm actually very surprised they included the option to browse servers which is very convenient. The sound? DICE is spectacular in their design and how much it immerses you in the entire experience. Graphics? Very detailed and well done. I love how the vehicles catch fire and explode, the walls crumble after being hit with and RPG, sunlight blooms and rain glistens when caught at different angles. I could go on and on but attention to detail is what is so awesome in the visual presentation. I enjoy the fact that you can be such a force in this game when you help your team. It makes the experience so satisfying when you revive someone, or fix your buddies tank after it gets hit, or be a gunner for a humvee driver. Teamwork is essential to success. Now some negatives: The Campaign is not bad by any means, but I just wish there would have been more freedom in the way you were able to tackle each level. The level of scale is great, but is hampered by the fact that the player is so restricted in where they can go and how to approach each mission. Co-op is fun, but can only be played online and I was surprised that only a few levels were available to play, but it is enjoyable. In Multiplayer I have minor compaints, such as inconsistant communication with my teammates. My voice as well as theirs would break up badly to the point where it was pointless to even try to talk to one another. I wish you could exit a match at anytime as well instead of having to wait for a match to start. All in all this is a fantastic game, and of course the Multiplayer is the star. If you enjoy intense, tactical gunplay and fantastic presentation. Buy this game. Expand

Here's another one of my 'just beyond first impression' reviews. I almost didn't buy BF3 because the PS3 beta SUCKED so bad, but now I am SO GLAD I gave it a chance. A little background- I never played the earlier Battlefield games, played MW2 a little bit, and sunk over 8 DAYS in Black Ops, so I compare BF3 to COD a lot here. Also, if you are looking for a campaign review, look elsewhere because I haven't played it and probably won't. My first impression of the graphics were 'meh'. In all fairness, I guess all console graphics are underwhelming after coming fresh off of Uncharted 3 though. But the more I played, the more I appreciated BF3....the lighting, the sun in the eyes, smoke, fog, rain, etc are all stellar. I got killed once because I was just standing there in awe admiring the corpse of some poor camper. I'd just blasted the back of his head and the blood was splattered against the rocks he was hiding behind in a level of detail unseen so far on the PS3. Just beautiful. After playing for nearly an hour I was questioning my purchase, but after 4 hours of deathmatch I can safely say the conversion from COD fanboy is complete! If the early reports are true about MW3 not really upping the ante, then 6 months from now this will be the military shooter real players are playing. The housewives and the kids will be left to duke it out on COD through their pink heart shaped reticle. For better or worse, there isn't much customization here. If you want to play dress up with your character like its a freakin Barbie doll I recommend the Uncharted3 experience...kill people with a sweet fedora and then do a dance. I'm not really into that. If you want to enter the closest thing ever to a real warzone then BF3 is the way to go. Once the match begins is where BF3 really shines. The sound is also incredible. If I could rate it 11 in that category I would. Everyone gives EA servers crap, but unlike BlackOps, I didn't get disconnected once, and experienced zero lag. I was worried about 2 things on this game- that there would be too many campers and too many snipers. Unless things change, neither has been an issue for me. In fact, I'd say there is much more of both in Black Ops. Based on what I'd heard about BF2, I was also worried that the maps would be too big and I'd have trouble finding the action. No problem there- I had more action than Ron Jeremy. A couple of times I got shot in the back immediately after spawning. It also spawned me behind a solid enemy position once or twice & I got some cheap kills of my own. 95% of the time though, spawning is a non-issue. Overall, it was a welcome relief to not constantly be shot in the back as happened oh so many times in Black Ops. Knife kills aren't as fluid as BLops, but look cooler. Killcams are also not as good. Much like the useless Uncharted 3 and Resistance 3 killcams, you ID the killer, but it doesn't really help you see where you went wrong or give away the killer's position as well as COD. Another minor gripe is that I couldn't figure out how to easily leave the lobby. I had no reason to, but if there had been a bunch of douchebags blasting their hiphop through the mics it would be nice to quickly back out and join another match. Maybe this option is there and I'm just not familiar enough with the interface yet. Expand

Oh no Game over i thought but then soomething swept across me; a defiance; a determination to win it for my time and I turned the corner as a wall got blown up next to me shaking the camera and I sprayed a clip into the blurrs I saw on the screen. Im going to be honest here, I never finished the single player. Not because it was bad, it was...decent. But the multiplayer drew me in soon after I got home with the game. I got about halfway through and it was good although more in a history channel special sort of way rather than an action movie. The first co-op mission was good but I couldn't find anyone who didn't crash the helicopter so I didn't get passed the second one, so I don't have alot to say about it.

Now to the multiplayer. It is...actually not the same as in bc2, it feels different. More focused. Better. The game has a good mix of slow tactical aspects as well as fast paced action with the distinced maps paving the way for very varied gameplay. The classes I feel are more balanced than in really any other BF game to date and I personally like the assault class having the job of medic although it makes the support class less usefull than it used to be.

Now, there are issues. There is the occasional glitch and I've seen a bit of lag now and then (although not much) I also think that jets with a 24 player count doesn't really add up with the jets spending most of there time dealing only with other jets and every once and a while a helicopter (I have yet to be killed by a jet other than when in one) so they almost seem to take away players from the game. I also think the BC2 helicopter controls were better and in BF3 it really limits there mobility but maybe that's better since I see less dominance than in BC2. One thing I was pleasantly surprised about what the vechicle disabling, I was a little worried about this being almost ineffective when I first heard about it but I think it offers a good way of mixing infantry and vechicle combat.

Oh and the graphics are very good although not PC level and is honestly a little outshined by the excellent sound (and honestly, the quiet is very impressive in an of itself.)

Overall I think this is a game that will keep alot of people happy for a very long time especially if DICE delivers on it's "3 times as much DLC as BC2" claim.

Jumped straight into campaign and to be honest the first three or four levels were immense. I felt in danger walking through the streets with my squad, and that's exactly what Battlefield should be aiming for. They are heavily invested in realism and they did a marvelous job of it. However, after a while the game began to slow down for me. I got less interested as the story ends up being unoriginal and I almost got the feeling there was some government propaganda pumped in for good measure. (To be honest, I'm so sick of playing the American soldier because in real life they are nothing but murderers for a corrupt establishment. Give me a game set in South America/India/Australia with their soldiers or whatever. Something new...)

The QTE moments are gash. There are too many of them and there's no reason for them at all. The fact that the game ends in one is the worst of it all. Press X, then O, then R1 etc... f'in boring.

However the graphics are beautifully done, sound is incredible, effects superb, so if you've got a sweet TV you'll enjoy this game for the spectacle alone.

MULTIPLAYER! I can't stress how good this is. The variety and the 'Battlefield Moments' make this game endless fun. Go on Youtube and look some up and you'll see what I mean. You end up at work the next day explaining those 10 seconds of mayhem. The maps are great and the addition of jets makes it feel more like war than ever before. SHooting mechanics are just fine and require you to think about how you approach a kill rather than just holding the trigger. I played the Co-Op extra missions last nigth with someone I met online, and the moments of cohesion together you can't find anywhere else. 3 2 1 Sniper headshots are the way forward. They should have informed people how to 'spot' enemies, as in most random games people don't even bother to identify tanks or helis for everyone else. I am a little dissapointed that the campaign isn't full co-op. This should be the norm for FPS, particularly squad based ones like BF3.

So graphics 9, campaign 8, sound 10, multiplayer 9, co-op 8, overall gameplay 9 and fun factor and replayability 10. Overall 9/10 from me. Buy this game if you want sustained fun. (see how long it takes you to master the helicopters) Cheers, DK

The game isn't perfect, but MW3 being so poor makes it look so. BF3 needs a training mode otherwise it is madly frustrating getting owned by some 30+ rank dick of a sniper. Couple of the weapons need rebalancing. Couple of the maps are frustrating. Love the size and scale of the maps on Rush mode. Getting your hands on a jet is rare. Also worth mentioning is the sound, I dont think you couldn't find a game with better sound production.

To start off, I did not buy this for single player, if I had I would review this at a 6- who uses quick time event still? God of war killed those. But when it comes to multiplayer- this game is amazing. Now if your a lone wolf looking for just kills this probably isn't the game for you. This is a true war experience- jets flying over head, tanks destroying building and realistic combat. To start off, I did not buy this for single player, if I had I would review this at a 6- who uses quick time event still? You can be the best player on your team and never shoot a bullet- being a team player going for objectives, healing players, supplying bullets all count for points. If you are a cod player you will need to slow down and think more strategy based as opposed to just rushing in for the kill. I have 40 hrs of online play and am just barely scratching the surface of this games potential. If you're looking for a realistic team based game- bf3 is here Expand

The Battlefield franchise keeps getting better. The campaign mode is not that exciting and short. Co-op mode could use more scenarios to play but is fun. Multiplayer mode, I would say no other game can compete. It's worth every cent, this is a game I don't think I would trade in anytime soon.

Loved it, single player campaign was intense and challenging and this is my 1st experience with BF online, and its great, hours of play and mostly challenging opponents, the upgrade and achievement system is good and rewarding, you feel like your progressing after every online game, always leaves you coming back for more! First Battlefield game i've purchased, multiplayer is in a league of it's own, i'm hooked. Campaign slightly disappointing but really don't care about that.

This game was great. I really expected to like MW3 more but I ended up enjoying this campaign a lot more. I'm not not a big multiplayer like most of my friends but my friends that have both titles enjoyed Battlefield 3 better in its entirety. MW3 should not be missed but if money is an issue, buy BF3 now and thank me later.

Con mas amplitud de mapas, algunas caracteristicas en los personajes y pequeñas correcciones es un juego por encima de la mecia. saludos.

Easily the best FPS shooter available. This game requires skill and lots of strategy for multiplayer in order to win, rather than the arcade run-n-gun gameplay of other franchises. Using skill and tactics is the only way you will win the game - whether this is using the multitude of different vehicles to assist with air support or ground offensive in tanks, while your other teammates assault the objectives, or by being at the frontlines rushing the objectives, and assisting with revives and supplying medkits or additional ammo to your squad/teammates. The destruction in the game seems to be toned down a bit from prior Battlefield games, but you can still create new "doorways" in building walls should you want to surprise the enemy or make a new route to the objectives. The changes to the kits from BC2 threw me off at first (for example, switching the med kits and ammo supply crates between Assault and Support classes), but after an hour of playing, I've come to realize it was for the best. Maps continue to be amazing and are well thought out for each different game mode. Weapons and the unlock system for them are amazing. My only 2 gripes about the game are spawning into instant death - please institute a few seconds of "safety" when you spawn, so you don't instantly die, and also that there is no way to see the stats of guns (i.e. the accuracy, damage it deals, etc) when you are cycling through your available weapons. This game easily wins the online multiplayer "war" out there between other FPS games - no other game comes close. This is a shining example of how to provide intense, amazing multiplayer - other game companies should stand up and take notice. Single player this year is a marked improvement - it had a much more "gritty" and realistic gameplay, and the story was a lot better. Co-Op mode wasn't as impressive in my opinion, and couldn't hold my attention. Co-Op is for 2 players only, and really just consists of a short battle against some AI - it does give different scenarios - for example, provide air support in an attack chopper while ground forces assault a location, or extract a defector, and get to the extraction point. None of the Co-Op scenarios really made me want to continue playing it, and I immediately went back to competitive multiplayer instead. If you only have one choice of an FPS game this year, Battlefield 3 should be your choice. I buy every FPS that is released, and no other game can even come close to the quality of Battlefield 3. BF3 raised the bar for teamwork, graphics, atmosphere, and all in all is a much deeper "experience" than MW3. You can argue progression systems, whatever, but they're pretty much similar. They're two totally different experiences, and they both excel in what they're trying to do on the multiplayer level. The only thing that truly hurts BF3 is the fact that it had to be trimmed for consoles, but it's not BF's fault that consoles simply cannot handle it. It would have been like trying to port Crysis 1 without the CryEngine3. BF3 shows us that the end of this console generation is here, and that this generation is now holding back innovation and the future of games (seriously, wtf is the physics engine on MW? Am I the only one that is dissapointed that grenades dont move wood pallets or outright destroy them? Seriously, Source has better physics implemented in it) They're different animals... that's all- and lets be honest, BF3 does way more for the gaming community than MW, as it stands, will ever be able to do. BF3 will only get better from here as the expansions roll out. Expand

Having moved over from COD I tried to play it in the same run-and-gun way, and got very frustrated with it. After 1 day I nearly took it back to the shop for something else. I stuck with it though, changed the way I played, and can say hands down this is better than MW will ever be. Too many idiots grab a tank and then waste it by charging into the enemy and getting blown up. The best fps on the market Expand

The nine multiplayer maps seem to be designed specifically to let players come up with their own creative strategies. Compared to COD, this gives the player a real sense of freedom. There is no such thing as a perfect strategy or a trotten path. [December 2011, p.74]
