Aircraft is a joke, moving through the air from an infantry perspective, jets look like they hover and fly in the wind like a lief in a breeze, controlling them is another thing altogether taking way to long to even get to the point of enjoyment.
This game could have been so good... could have been.

As generic as games come. The single player is downright awful, using every cliche in the book and borrowing the narrative style from Black Ops, an absolutely awful idea. The multiplayer is the only part of the game worth playing, though it gets old quickly, and if you're playing by yourself, can be damn frustrating at times as well.

Campaign - About 6 hours long with no exciting, thrilling, or emotionally felt moments. After seeing the hype gathered around the campaign and a 12-minute minute video by EA, I had hopes for it and thought it would be better than the Call of Duty campaigns, but I was wrong. The only thing this has to offer is realism. It is pretty much a boring training simulator for the multiplayer.Campaign - About 6 hours long with no exciting, thrilling, or emotionally felt moments. Graphics - Amazing! Not that I really care about it. Not much to say here, but the lighting is good at some moments and bad at others. Not a big deal though. 100/100(A+)

Gameplay - AI is good, but all of them look exactly the same and shooting certain weapons and flying jets are very difficuly, but that makes it more realistic. Framerate is only 30 frames per second for consoles instead of 60 Frames Per Second. 60 FPS would make the game run a lot smoother and more intense. 65/100(D+)

Multiplayer - OK, but too team oriented. I hate being in squads, especially when the squad is terrible. All guns have 3 round burst as an option for some reason. I hate that there are vehicles online because I would hate to get killed by someone flying over me instead of doing it face to face. A lot of campers no matter what these fanboys say. You need an online pass, so you can't let a friend try out the multiplayer and take it to a friend's house and play it there unless you bring your game system with you or redownload the pass at thier house. Maps are too huge and spawning makes it worse. It's fun to play sometimes, but I have to be in a really good mood. 75/100(C+)

Playing Time/Content - My playing time with this game won't be much and hasn't been much. Now that I have Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3....I may never play it much again. Content includes a single player campaign and multiplayer. Nothing special. 30/100(F)

    Overall Score: 62/100(D-)

    Other notes:

It tries too hard to not be Call of Duty and ends up disappointing me. I prefer Battlefield: Bad Company 2.

    c) When you can play with your friends, you can't communicate with them, because comms do not work in this game. Even if they did, one of your squad is always on the other team, so you couldn't.
    d) There may not be as many "noobs" playing this game, but there sure are a lot of players who seem to be very experienced in the subtle art of laying on ones stomach, thrusting gently against the ground, and making full use of point a) with a large scope on their gun.

    Conclusion:
The game has potential. If they fix the in-game communications, the squad and team issues, somehow improve the visibility of enemies, and remove the bugs which plague the game's campaign mode, then it might actually be enjoyable. Until then, it's frustrating and incomplete, and far from the masterpiece that one-eyed fans of the series have touted it as. Starting with 10, 2 points off for not being able to see who's shooting you, 2 points off for the bugs and freezing, 1 point off for the communications issues, and 1 point off for the squad/team issues. 4/10.

This was worth a $3.00 rent at redbox. I played the main story for about 3 hours and was already bored of it. These games are really starting to get tiring. I have no intention to buy this game. There is nothing fun about the game and if you look at the story and game play from an arm length away, it seems like a cheesy B-rated action flick.

The FPS genre is dying because of games like this. These days, you're given a choice of picking your poison instead of picking what's actually a good game. So once more, I find myself going back to Counter-Strike.

It's basically another series of spawn, then die. I find myself sneaking around, trying to be careful and checking my corners, (as in, NOT playing this game like Call of Duty, as some fanboys will no doubt tell me not to) only to get sniped from someone on another continent. When I'm not getting sniped, I'm getting blinded by taclights used by idiots who think they're being funny by keeping me blinded for five seconds just to piss me off. That, or I'm getting killed by vehicle hogs after burning through three rockets trying to kill them. I have to suicide just to switch to the class with the rocket launcher, because I either have no teammates with rocket launchers, no teammates who can be bothered to take care of it, or no teammates nearby, period. It's like I get a hundred deaths for every one kill I get. The only consolation is that I got to sell it to someone else for the price I bought it at. I hated this game so much I wouldn't accept what GameStop would've offered me for it.

I'm really, REALLY surprised that anyone likes this game. It's like some people will just fanboy a series all the way to the end, go all the way to it, and will never, ever admit that a game has flaws. Not that MW3 doesn't (believe me, I know it does), but this game has even more flaws.

Furthermore, EA insists that a used copy constitutes buying a new online pass to access multiplayer. Their official statement was along the lines of "it hurts us when you buy a used game, and that's why we're doing this".

Here's the deal, EA: Your cash cow is officially broken. Make a game that isn't a steaming pile of crap, and you won't have to deal with that. I'll be more than happy to buy a new copy. Considering how awful your track record has become in the last five or so years, good luck with that. o_o

Some of the maps are set up with choke points where you end up in a large group Mexican Standoff lobbing grenades at each other. Boring.

Some of the Bad Company 2 flaws still exist. Since when can a shotgun kill a human in body armor from 50 yards away? Lame. Getting fragged the moment you spawn somewhere? Check. (This didn't seem to be a problem in BC 2). And how is it you can be blinded by a flashlight *in broad daylight*??? Seriously? Aiming seems terribly twitchy as well.

Graphically the game may be more detailed than Bad Company 2, but it's taken on a decidedly more cartoonish appearance with artificially-saturated color and soldier character models that somehow look and move less realistically than in Bad Company 2.

Most annoying of all is the inability to kill the voiceover sound. This option was available in Bad Company 2, but not in BF3. Yeah, I want to listen to voiceover actors screaming about getting "f**ked in the a**" (true quote from the game) constantly. Thanks DICE, thanks a lot.

I'll be selling this game the first chance I get. What a disappointment. I was hoping DICE would stick with the "Not Modern Warfare" model, but instead they've followed that juvenile game's lead and catered to that game's typical buyer.

You can actually have your back to a wall and go prone, unlike Call Of Duty which will not allow you to do so because there would not be any room for legs, Battlefield3 does and your legs are basically fused into the wall with half you body sticking out, campers delight, the vehicles are not as spectacular as the commercial and "supposed unbiased" reviewers, showed and claimed they were to be, the jet fighter travel at an unbelievable slow speed, its not hard to get a target lock, but hey they have more counter measures than than a single engineer has missiles. the way they fly also looks very abnormal and is far from fluid. Bolt action sniper rifles in the game are so unrealistic, no sniper would ever take his eye off his sights to pull back the bolt, you cant switch rooms during game intermissions, you have to quit back to the main menu, and you can only customize your load outs during the middle of a match, spawn points are done terribly, spawn camping is the worst I've seen since Socom 3 no type of spawn protection at all. Now finally aside from some lag, the occasional error connection message when trying to get into multiplayer, lack of game modes, including a hardcore mode, whats good about the game you say, well ill tell you, i really like how this game uses bi-pods, unlike in COD where its only for show, Battlefield implements them to, my enjoyment, very well. i also like the variety of weapons and equipment for each kit, but its still no "create a class" like COD, that's about it this game does not live up to all the Hype, i wonder how much EA payed for those clearly bias reviews, this is why you cant trust certain media outlets, with all its problems its far from perfect. Being halfway through the campaign I found myself regretting what I had just done. I regretted buying this boring game. I am sorry but Battlefield 3 is by far one of the most boring first person shooters I have ever touched. The voice acting is not even sub par it's terrible. Nothing sounded real, there was too much cursing it sounded like whoever wrote everything was some foul mouthed teenager. The graphics are incredible but behind those beautiful graphics is one of the most generic shooters, I think ever. Theres a hell of a lot of bugs too. Did I mention that? I found myself getting blinded by street lights that would not go away unless I restarted my playstation 3, getting stuck on walls and going through walls are some of the many bugs I had. I eventually finished the campaign after hours of experiencing the magical repetitiveness so then I decided to give the multiplayer a try. It was incredibly fun at first, which is the reason why this game is getting a 2 from me. Team deathmatch is fun and has a few similarities to what call of duty has to offer but here is what I didn't like, it takes too long to unlock stuff - in these kind of games I like trying out new guns and it felt like it took forever to start unlocking guns that weren't worthless.. Playing maps with vehicles is incredibly boring even playing with friends I found myself being flat out bored driving around in tanks or helicopters. I don't care about people saying things about teamwork - when I play games I want to have fun. I would not recommend this game to anyone who is expecting a game with an epic campaign. The multiplayer is fun for a few weeks but eventually becomes repetitive with slow paced gameplay and slow unlocks. In closing don't be fooled at the videos people post on the internet of this game. It's more boring then it looks. I'm not sure where people got off calling this game more tactical then CoD but when I think of a tactical shooter I think of Rainbow Six not battlefield. Not to stir the MW3 vs BF3 pot any further, but I would take another rehashed Call of Duty over this turd. Expand

When BC2 came out it was like no other game. You could do and destroy anything!! You think you're gonna camp here for the whole game? WRONG, there's no wall behind you! Drive tanks, fly ATTACK helicopters, 4 wheelers, UAVs and turrents! You name it BC2 provided and then. BF3 was announced and we got word of all the wonders that would befall us in this game. And show the COD franchise how real developers and networks stand by their fanbase. I refer to all this is to emphasize how utterly disappointed I am in BF3. I realized from Beta that this is NOT the BF I knew and loved. This felt cheap. And EA chose the absolute worst map to allure players from COD as it was not displaying BF's to its truest. We all know of the annoying network outages and glitches that happened in the beta stage and EA assured us that what we were playing was not the final product so I shrugged it off. Now that the final game was released I hoped it would be the same as BF2, IT IS NOT. Those users saying the game play is the same WRONG. The game play is no where near as smooth as BF2 and that game could have been smoother. This game is a pretty mess. I will only be referring to Multilayer as Campaign got me so angry I had to take 2 xanax (I think I've made my point here). From a simple thing as the inability to walk over a tiny object on the ground to the daunting task of getting out of a room, this game has become what I hoped it wouldn't... COD with vehicles. EA if you cant do something right, dont bother doing it at all. How is it that you can shoot a person square dead in the head emptying TWO clips one from you main and the secondary after switching to you side arm and your opponent will have enough time to stop. turn. shoot you once and you are dead.? EA can you PLEASE explain this cause I am stumped. I have had folks massacre me on 0%. 0%!!!!! I was killed by a ghost y'all!!!! Why can't I cook a grenade?? Why is player mute either you mute the entire squad or none so if I have a team member that is actually benefiting to the team and a kid screaming at his mommy I have to deal with all of that or mute them all? HOW do I end up in an entirely different class when a new game starts? WHY the **** does it take to goddamn long to get up from prone!!??? WHY all the theatrics to knife someone??!!! You have to ensure NO ONE is around you if you're knifing someone cause the length of time it takes to do that crap will get you shot! I have to wonder if EA just focused all their energy into just making the game look pretty and sounding fantastic and just left out the heart of the game. Cause that is what I got from the store. Coming up the stairs in the Night Shift level only for the game to insist that you use a knife to kill an upcoming guard, why becomes obvious as there is a cut scene coming up invoving a struggle with him, you try and do anything else its mission failed! Enemys taking shotguns to the face and nothing happening, bullet proof glass in stair well in one level or car headlights that can't be shot out, so many things wrong with it. More of the same, nothing but FPS garbage. This genre has single handedly destroyed gaming and turned the entire industry into one that favors "safe" shallow gameplay with good graphics instead of games that are actually enjoyable.

The multi player, which i expected to be the highlight, was infinitely worse. The majority of the maps are like bigger call of duty maps, only suitable for close range combat. Guns that should kill quickly, like the sniper rifles and shotgun, are severely underpowered, while handguns and machine guns kill almost immediately. Don't even get me started on scope drift and all of the glitches that should have been fixed before they released the game. If you like call of duty, I'm sure you'll love this game. I've been a gamer all my life since NES days and first got into 1st person shooters with PS3's Resistance, not counting N64 Golden Eye, etc. That transitioned into COD4, one of the best shooters of all time. Next came COD World At War which was nowhere as fun. Then followed something a little better, COD6 (MW2), but not quite great due to annoying perks and sub-par maps. Battlefield 1943I've been a gamer all my life since NES days and first got into 1st person shooters with PS3's Resistance, not counting N64 Golden Eye, etc. That transitioned into COD4, one of the best shooters of all time. Next came COD World At War which was nowhere as fun. Then followed something a little better, COD6 (MW2), but not quite great due to annoying perks and sub-par maps. Battlefield 1943 was actually tons of fun and I enjoyed it very much, but I found less and less people online. Black Ops came out and is holding me up until today. Not quite like COD4, but better then its successors. Now comes out MW3 and Battlefield 3. I'm not a killing machine but my K/D ratio is at 2.58. I decided I wanted a game where I didn't have to kill like crazy and use more strategy, more like Battlefield 1943. So I went with BF3. Here are my thoughts ....

BF3: Graphics are great, air/ground vehicles are amazing. I was really pumped. After 2 weeks of playing all maps, and all game modes, I came to the conclusion this game is simply terrible.

    +PROS:

-Graphics amazing -Guns variety, attachments -Choppers, jets, tanks, cars -Map variety, sizes -Cinematic (chopper flying over you and unloading, etc)

    +CONS:

-Strategy. You get in a tank and the guy driving it is a retard. Probably a 5 year old playing it. This normally doesn't happen in the PC version as you need a $2000+ computer to even support this game and not too many parents are going to give their "kid" this to play video games. Way too many little kids playing this that are loners like me. Unless you play with friends, it's useless. Everyone does their own thing.

-Shooting. This is a mess. I swear to you I shot a guy twice with a sniper rifle and he did not go down!! Clearly I made contact because the landing bullet showed a red hit. I can't kill a guy next to me to save my life either. My K/D in every shooter has been between 1.86 - 2.58, not spectacular, but enough to say I'm pretty decent. I try shooting from the hip and aiming down the sights, and it is impossible. I tried several guns, still looked like a NOOB. I try camping, everything. Again, not saying I need a great K/D. I just want to be able to kill the guy I have in sight very close to me when he's not looking at me. Hell, I can have a great time being 5 kills and 8 deaths one game. Battlefield 1943 was awesome. Now that was a real simulator.

-Stabbing. The cinematic stabbing scene is great but seriously, when I stab, I just want a guy to go down and that's that. Not here, no way. A couple of times I tried stabbing a guy from behind while he was sniping and nothing would happen. I was hammering R2 and it looked like my guy had a stuttering movement. Finally after 6 secs, the guy turned around and killed me. Like I said, this happened more than once! Now I can stab a guy prone and it shows all this great action scene where I flip him over and stab him, but who cares? When I stab, I just want to kill the guy and move on! This is super annoying. I'm not saying I want to stab on the fly like COD but still, when the other guy has his back towards me, he should die.

    FINAL THOUGHTS:

You either make this a hardcore simulator all the way, or you don't. It shouldn't take more than around 4 shots to kill a guy. This is a game where you need to get inside a tank to do anything. I don't mind camping but this is ridiculous. You can camp for literally 5 mins waiting for a kill in a great spot, but you either wait longer or get killed. SHOOTING AND MOBILITY IS THE MOST ANNOYING FEATURE ABOUT THIS GAME. It's like spending $60 to watch a movie not play a game. Yes, it looks beautiful but plays like crap. If you want to buy this game, I suggest getting on blu-ray "Blackhawk Down" or "Saving Private Ryan", looks just as great and much cheaper.

What an incredibly bad game. Single player is cliched and quite frankly boring, whereas multiplayer is infested, yes infested, with campers, hackers, boosters, and the lowest forms of gaming life. As for the gameplay the guns are pathetically weak, the graphics trying desperately to hide the ugliness that is the real Battlefield 3. Save your money and buy MW3, Uncharted 3, or Skyrim.

There is a good mulltiplayer aspect to this game, but some flaws mage the game almos unplayable:

    1) A lot of people (me included) are experiencing an enourmous amount of input lag (some youtube videos measure more than 300ms); 2) Deadzone is too great (you have to move the stick much more than normal to start turning); 3) Aim acceleration is strange, when you move the stick just a little

Join these 3 things and you have a crapshoot, you can only hit stationary target with consistency. If a patch solve these things, it would make the best online experience to date, but for now, stick with BF3 on 360 or PC.

PS.: If you think you don't have the input lag issue, try playing any other FPS game (especially others with 30 fps like BFBC2) for about 30 minutes and then come back to BF3. You won't like the results.

    FrostBite 2 FAIL

    Orfãos de Bad Company :(

This game was complete garbage. The control sensitivity was all jacked up, the button configuration was confusion, and the campaign story was a copied version of a couple of other games, such as EA's 2006 game BLACK and Black Ops. I traded this for Uncharted 3 within hours of playing it. Glad the other guy had no idea how sh!tty a game this really is.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This has to be the most disappointing game ever released. Riding on the classic that was Battlefield 2, DICE/ EA have rushed out a game (pre-xmas, as to beat Call of Duty's release) that is unfinished, full of bugs. For a game that sells itself' strengths on teamwork, they cannot even get VOIP to work on the PS3 version. Issues way too many to list, go on any forum and you will see for yourself. Forum after forum have been trying to get answers out of DICE, but guess what. Not a single reply. And quoting directly from DICE, on their views on how the game came out.. "We've nailed it.." Expand

Why a 0? Input lag simply causes too much interference on to many occasions. It is pretty ridiculous that something as essential as aiming in a FPS is troublesome... Worth the buy? No.

I loved this game when it came out, I played it for hours and hours and hours and apart from some technical glitches I had a great time, if I had written a review then I would have scored it a 10, HOWEVER.... For that I give BF3 a big fat zero. Expand

You must be a huge fan of Battlefield or hardcore multiplayer to enjoy this one. I didn't like the campaign mode at all. The game play sucks really. I played it on hard. and it was so annoying that when I day I need to start from the begining of the checkpiont. Which could be another 3-5 min of play.
I also noticed at many occasions that enemies spawn suddenly in place or in closed rooms

I also noticed at many occasions that enemies spawn suddenly in place or in closed rooms with no windows or doors. That really sucks big time. making you exposed from behind sometimes.
Squad mates aren't really helpful most of the time. They are there for firing sound effect.
Poor gameplay. I give it 4 though

Probably the worst single-player campaign out there. The story is a mess and seems more like a tour of different vehicles and fights than anything interesting. I think DICE spent too much time on graphics, without realising that good graphics don't make a good game. Did they not get the memo? Multiplayer is pretty bland. I've always been a Battlefield fan and I really wanted to like this game, but I really felt this game sucks. The progression/unlock system is also an absolute joke.

I only paid $15 for my copy of BF3 and as low of amount of money that is, I'm actually disappointed in wasting it on this mess of a game.

First of all the gameplay is same as Modern Warfare 3 for example: When progressing on other mission you switch character. The A.I. is crap you can stand in front of the enemy and he won't shoot you.My favourite Battlefield is Hardline personally.I don't recomend it to anyone

The game itself is good, but the console version is horrible. Disgusting 30 fps with stuttering and freezing. If you want to play this game - buy it for PC.

Hopefully EA reconsiders its approach to toppling Call Of Duty in the future, and allows its games to develop their own personality, rather than imitate something else.

The nine multiplayer maps seem to be designed specifically to let players come up with their own creative strategies. Compared to COD, this gives the player a real sense of freedom. There is no such thing as a perfect strategy or a trotten path. [December 2011, p.74]
