I must say that I was actually very impressed with the sounds in SWAT: Global Strike Team.
-
The presentation and setting aren't always quite up to par, but that's forgivable when the game's underlying action is so solid.
-
PSM MagazineThough the missions are somewhat short (they average fifteen minutes in length) they possess a great deal of replayability, thanks to the fact that you can solve each one in so many different ways. [Dec 2003, p.50]
-
The game is literally begging for a random scenario generator. Truth be told, creating one shouldn't be too hard either.
-
TotalGames.netThis isn't the most gratifying FPS game out there, or is it the deepest but it does have its place. You all know us, you know what we do for a living so you should realise that we really don't like saying that a game would make an ideal rental.
-
While not the most polished title on the market, theres plenty between the voice-recognition and the various tactics available to make SWAT: Global Strike Team a worthwhile endeavor.
-
If you are a tactical shooter, this isn't your game. It's the combination of many small parts from different genres so it will probably only appeal to the casual fan.
-
The levels are linear, the enemy AI is not very smart, and the game world feels weak even with the background chatter of your teammates and the constant radio contact with your superiors. Overall, SWAT: Global Strike Team is a good but imperfect game.
-
Surprisingly a solid FPS game, offering simplistic controls and a fun gameplay environment.
-
The first-person shooter action doesn't compare with the likes of "Half-Life" or "Red Faction" and the team-based strategy element couldn't carry the night vision goggles of either "SOCOM" release.
