This has got to be one of the worst game/expansion ever. constant disconnect, login issues, loading screen issues. then when you get a chance to log in, massive lag. can't complete a quest and thus you are brickwalled/gated from progressing further. for a subscription based game, they sure are not supported with hardware/customer support for the fees they charge.

Also to the 1%'er that say the games to easy. Wildstar will be happy to take your money. Or any other eastern mmo. There are more casuals than hardcore and there are plenty of raids.

What I here is a great example of Popular Opinion. Everyone that left a zero rating is not the honest way to review a game for others to see. The game is very good. I've played for 3+ years. My honest opinion of the game is 8.5 but due to people getting all but hurt about it. I graded it a 10.

Not perfect, but it is, and I know this has been said before, the best one yet, if you look past the nostalgia glasses. I would not normally give a 10/10, but all the people that ragequit WoW after 3 days of serverproblems giving 0, this kinda evens it out.

Having said that, I'm pretty happy playing WoD. For me, this installment is the apex of the MMO genre (there is actually a reason why no other MMO has achieved WoW figures you know), and it is indeed the best expansion of the original game. While some mechanics are old and there are some issues (it's an MMO after all) it is still THE king in the MMO universe.
Really worth playing if you enjoy MMO's in general or WoW specifically. The streamline of the game in general means you can jump in and get going easier than ever. Most of the negative reviews come from WoW no-lifer hardcore players that miss those good old days (?) where you had to literally devote your life to the game. Not any more though, as the days of the elitist jerks are long gone.

In this expansion, Blizzard seems to have been finely-tuned to the fact that aside from WOTLK, The Burning Crusade was their best expansion (or, it had the most player investment, anyway). Certain areas seem to be virtually copy-and-pasted, yet not quite so much, which causes long-lasting players to constantly compare-and-contrast the terrain of Draenor with Outland.

This game has integrity, loyalty to the canon, and loyalty to the players. The major downside is that so much is walled-off at level 100, at least for the short-term. Too soon after finishing a dynamic and interesting single-player mode, the game devolves into a dungeon and material grind.

I played WoW for many years and eventually left. I felt WoW had gone down a path I just wasn't enjoying anymore.. After playing WoD, my interest in WoW has been renewed. I came back after almost 4 years away. This is not the be-all-end-all to fixing the MMO, but this is DEFINITELY a step in the right direction. Looking forward to the future of WoW. Many people are returning, with good reason.

On the other side of this, the game is now very easy to pick up and start for a newbie because all skills can now be leveled on the Draenor continent. The Garrison you are given adds a few new dimensions to the game as well and gives you something even beyond your hero to work towards. This expansion should have been the next expansion after WotLK. WoW feels like vanilla WoW again. No made up filler panda role and no boring content/story like cataclysm. Let me begin by saying how frustrated I am by people giving the actual game itself massively negative reviews due to server issues. It seems somewhat akin to Top Gear slating a car because the road surface they are driving it on is unfinished. That aside, let's get down to reviewing the game itself.

From the moment you enter the dark portal, you are thrown straight into the action in a fast-paced and exciting prologue, giving some insight into the world of Draenor and it's Warlords. It gives those players with rusty fingers a chance to reacquaint themselves with their class and abilities and those who took advantage of the free level 90 boost since the launch will find themselves unlocking abilities as they progress through this prologue, giving them a chance to learn the class bit by bit. This is a really nice addition from Blizzard!

As for the content, it's difficult to draw a solid conclusion, due to the fact that 90% of the content has yet to be implemented, however there is a suitable amount of PvE, PvP, Questing and Grinding to keep everyone busy. The addition of treasure, rares and bonus objectives makes questing a little more fun with the latter rewarding a big chunk of xp for every bonus objective you complete.

As for the 'dumbing' down of classes, yes they have removed a lot of abilities, but in my opinion it is not detrimental to the combat system. It's less daunting from a new player perspective, and quite honestly some of the classes rotations were clunky and over complicated. Again, this is a very subjective topic, and some people may find a 4/5 button rotation is a bit trivial.

Graphically, the game has definitely seen improvements and tweaks. The most obvious of which are the new player textures and glowing outlines around all NPCs. There's no denying that the game is 10 years old and isn't as graphically advanced as newer RPGs, but Blizzard have done a great job with the limited scope they have within the WoW game engine. They've also improved the terrain and foliage such as trees to stop them looking like giant blobs.

This really is a return to form for WoW, possibly the best expansion yet, but we shall see how the story-line and content pans out as we receive more content in-game.

I have been removed from the game in an instance server crash during the 10th Anniversary MC 40 man raid where all of us were removed just before getting to Ragnaros for our Helms and mounts but I can hardly blame Blizz for that much less the expansion. I could also note the wait times some servers had in the opening week but I wasn't affected much and got 4 free days of time out of the deal when Blizzard openly apologized as the great customer service company they are.

From a lore standpoint, WoD is fantastic. You get to see the world in a whole new light, and the story is told seamlessly. Leveling up from 90 to 100 was exciting while reading quest text and watching cut scenes because it makes you feel a part of something. The voice acting is very alive here too like in Pandaria which was the only thing good about MoP.
The PvP is cool and I like what they're doing with both Ashran and the Garrison.
Garrisons are awesome and I enjoy upgrading my plots and sending followers to farm for me. I like just how unique mine feels compared to a friends, yet they are similar enough to not get lost. The only thing that'd make it better is cosmetic changes to allow for more varying designs. Garrisons were a key feature of the expansion and you can tell Blizz worked hard on them.
The PvE is great so far. Not only with world bosses, rares, and treasure hunting; the dungeons are also very fun and moderately challenging. Some heroics need to be fixed such as the damage from the orbs on the first boss in UBRS (which was very well redone) or the adds on the third boss that come out of nowhere to wipe your party. Other than the bugs, the dungeons are engaging with their own storylines better in every way from Mists of Pandaria.
The only raid we had was a 100 scaled Molton Core true to the original 40 man roots. It was cool but hard to give much credit for them as it's not even an official Draenor raid as those aren't out until December.
The only thing I absolutely hated was the proving grounds as it's a prerequisite to heroics yet they are glitchy as hell. At times one of my interrupts wouldn't work, causing a healer to full heal and set me back precious seconds. At other times, globs would go through a mob to hit me an freeze me in place for precious seconds. I literally pulled my hair out at one point in a blind rage but I pulled through as always.
The stat squish in the patch leading up to WoD was a very positive thing, but I will also say that the removal of many skills was negative as many classes lost some very unique skills.
WoD is the best expansion since Lich King and I hope to see you in the World of Warcraft. If you're on Laughing Skull, look up Shamtoshammy (dumb name I know)

I've played all expansions since it was born, it was amazing when WotLK arrived, my favorite, but when Cata arrived, the lore was awful and made me go straight to PvP for the rest of the expansion. Then MoP arrived and messed up PvP too, so I had no option but to resign WoW for another mmorpg. When Blizz announced WoD, I was guessing for insignificant changes made since the huge fail of PvE and PvP overall on MoP, the n I heard rumors about real changes made to mechanics, graphics, and even the lore. So I jumped back in to WoW on a level 90 boosted character and tried out the beta. The beta was very intriguing and stayed to play at launch day. Yes I know people, launch day was a complete disaster, but understand that what matters is on how they respond to certain situations as to other games I've played during my teenage life. During the next 2 months, WoD has blew me away, the content they offered was more than I can imagine. It was almost as good as SWTOR, which by the way was my favorite game too, they had garrisons, professions ready to craft in high standards, lore was so great and breathtaking, and finally, my favorite part, they reorganized and simplified the way how PvP works and which spells belong to which specialization. The few negatives of the classic features are still there, but WoD relives the glorious times I had played when Burning Crusade was live. They had their ups and downs, but this time, they had me convinced to play this game once more. Expand

Every major quest line instanced, easy to kill raremobs everywhere, no social interaction needed for anything, mandatory garrison farming all day every day. Again I believed their lies at Blizzcon and tolerated their arrogant behavior towards the fanbase. As I stated in my D3 review i feel betrayed by a company that delivered the greatest video game of my era and by that i mean the original World of Warcraft. The insolence of selling WoD for almost 200% of BCs selling price back in the day, and then haveing the least content of all expansions, indicates that Activision-Blizzards priority is to milk the rest of the customers as far as possible before there are none left. I cannot understand why anyone would consider buying Legion while they continue to ignore the player bases outcry.

However, after a few months of grinding pvp gear which btw used to take 4 dam long months where u throw money away waiting to gear up, finally is completely resolved in WOD. I would also lke to add i stopped playing wow in mop because pvp was so unbalance. NOW in WOD, the game is sooooo much better. the questing is actually fun and interesting, i literally did every single quest and enjoyed it. Also, they made it so all the questing is all story driven and they dont muck the waters with retarded side quests so its worth doing them all to get the full story which is again really good in wod. As pvp goes, its sooo much better. As far as gearing your character it now only takes 1 month to full gear because of rated battlegrounds dropping a gear piece per week, gladiator sanctum dropping a gear piece per week, and then buying a piece with your conquest cap points. As far as balance, its wayyy better than mop, buuuut not perfect, but at least its playable and fun, it seriously is a lot better than it was. if they work on balance a little bit it could be flawless. regardless the game is really fun, tons of hours of play, pvp is really decent and fun. like i said for $50 its by far the best pc game on the market for time and fun level and harcore competitive pvp gaming. I give wod a strong 8.7 they finally got there act together this game is good. Expand

Garrisons are a ood addition, and fun, but i could be better if they added some mobile external app just to check followers missions and make them do new ones without the need of login into the game.

They could also bring out pet battles into a mobile app, which would be great for leveling pets and so on.

New models are very nice and they fits perfectly, also the graphic options to difference normal setup and raid setup is a great addition.

The truth is, they have upgraded the graphics by a lot, its a 10 year old game so you can only overhaul so much it wont be the look of BF4 if you expect them to rebuild a 10 year old game then you are the one with the soft skull. Of course there are only about 7 zones(same as BC) in the new xpac, Not sure why people thought that certain zones could be interchangeable in level caps. The Garrisons added fun to the game if you're not too lazy to do them. The raids are fun so far as long as you do more than run through LFR and cry about how easy LFR is (do some real raids). I noticed the people rating it a "0" didn't even play that much of the game meaning they aren't equipped to answer any questions. As someone who PVP's in arena and does Raiding 3-4 days a week and I have been playing since vanilla, I would say I have a better handle on it than the "I played 10 minutes and I hate it" type of people. The same people crying about Pandaria when it was pretty good also, everyone just cried about the pandas before even playing it. To the people that say they are never coming back, good, I wouldn't want you in the game anyways, who needs extra trade trolls. To the ones that say its not the current best mmo, have a look at the ones that were supposed to be "giving it a run for its money" (Archeage, wildstar, ESO, Tera, Rift, GW2) They all fell before WOW, so yea, its the best out currently.

Garrisons- Fun and new, get repetitive but not a staple in the game just a daily.
PVP- World pvp is back and the classes are more even now even though some are still in need of tweaking
Raiding- Is fun and has a good difficulty increase when changing from normal to heroic to mythic, there are even different loot tables now when looking at all the different difficulties, not just reskinned upgrades.
Professions-are pretty useless unless you use engineering, not many gear has gem slots and only 4 pieces of gear can even be enchanted.
Gear-still feels like the upgrades are minimal but that's what this game is built around, you don't normally get a super upgrade.
Players-are currently the worst part of this game, as you see in the reviews, some of these same types also play the game while sitting in trade all day doing the "anal and murlock" troll. There is a solution though, just get a spam addon and have it so it reports anyone saying these words, I haven't seen it since.
Over all I would say it is a good expansion pack so far, I world pvp daily and do arenas when I'm not raiding, I am a warlock which is supposedly the worst class right now with its many nerfs and I like the expansion.

Warlords is an am azing expansion, probably the best since Lich King, especially if you are a long time fan of the lore. The environments are beautiful, the quests are fun, the new random reward upgrade system adds excitement to completing quests. Ashran the nee pvp zone is amazing fun. I knocked a point off for launch troubles, but those should clear up soon.

Having played WoW off and on since the days of vanilla I feel as if WoD has great potential to succeed, especially after the amount of rather dull content that made up the majority of MoP. The updated graphics look great (considering that it is still WoW graphics) and the garrison and quest content is generally fun and certainly more entertaining than MoP's storyline. Nonetheless, the expansion does suffer due to ability pruning as the classes do not feel nearly as versatile as they had been in the past. The more restricted set of abilities has streamlined gameplay as it is far easier to understand and master how to use a class, but it comes at the expense of each class feeling more shallow and restricted. Overall I am looking forward to finishing the expansion but I am unsure how long the revised classes will hold my attention once I play through the leveling content.

On a side note, the lag at the time of writing this has reached the point where the content is mostly inaccessible. While I feel this is a major issue it is nonetheless temporary and as much as I am annoyed that I am unable to experience the remaining content I do not feel that a review of the lag is reflective of the expansion. Had I factored the current level of lag into my score it would have been a 1 or 2 instead of a 6.

I was quite surprised by how much I liked this expansion. I purchased it two weeks after release, so I avoided the server issues that are mentioned in many of the reviews here. As someone who has played WoW on and off since 2004, I like that they have returned the focus on to horde vs. alliance. A return to form after an era of pandas and villains no one really cared about (ie. Deathwing).I was quite surprised by how much I liked this expansion. The new zones in Draenor are excellent. Not as memorable, varied, or as unique as the Northrend zones from WotLK, but definitely much more interesting than those in Cata or MoP. The questing is significantly improved from previous expansions and there is more of an emphasis on story. You will encounter many of the same named characters as you move across zones, and there are also a lot more cutscenes (skippable) and voice acted NPC dialogue than before. The leveling process was very enjoyable overall.

You'll also have a 'garrison', which essentially serves as a personalized town hub where you can choose which buildings to construct. Originally, I thought it was a gimmick, as there was barely anything I could do with it at first, but over time the options for your garrison really start opening up.

World PvP is back in the new zones. Currently, flying mounts cannot be used in the new zones, which means it is more difficult to simply mount up and flee to avoid an engagement. There is also a garrison structure that rewards you for killing players in the world (outside of BG / Arenas). If you're on a PvP server, expect ganking.

Arena PvP is also easier to set up than ever. This change was made late in MoP, but you no longer need an arena team to play rated arena. Simply party with anyone, including cross-realm, and you're good to go. Everything is based on personal MMR. Additionally, gearing new characters for PvP is much less frustrating. There is now an item level 'floor' for battlegrounds and arena, where if your item level is below that threshold, it will automatically be boosted up to that level. This gives newly leveled characters a fighting chance rather than being pure cannon fodder. On top of purchasing gear through honor, you now also receive loot boxes that give a high chance of an item when opened if you win or even lose a random battleground (depends on team performance). Before I purchased my first piece of honor gear, I had already gotten 4 items from these boxes, including the 2H honor-tier weapon. The honor grind is much less grindy.

I'd also say that the dungeons so far are the best I've seen to date. My favorite is the Grimrail instance, where you fight through a moving train with the terrain zooming by on the sides. Reminded me of that Goldeneye level. Lots of attention to detail and interesting boss mechanics.

The one issue I have with the expansion is how many abilities they have removed. The game reached a point of having way too many abilities, but at the same time I think the culling was too extreme. For example, as an arms warrior, I no longer have key abilities like heroic strike or cleave, which have been there since day one of the game. I no longer have berserker stance, only battle and defensive stance. Stance dancing is no longer a thing, as almost every ability is usable in every stance. Banners are gone -- I can't place a banner and then safeguard it to remove a root or snare. The end result is that the skill ceiling to play the class properly is significantly lower than before, both in PvE and PvP, reducing the differentiation between good and bad players. For arms warriors especially, I feel like I could make a keyboard macro that does 99% of potential DPS without me needing to actually play the game if I wanted to.

Besides that, overall I would say that this is a very good expansion, up there with BC and WotLK.

Now that they have sorted out the server issues the game is great. But I would like to point out to those not happy with the results due to the server problems, in an online game the main point of it is to be online!!! so if this isnt working causes huge lag and character freezes making the game unplayable then why would it it be given a higher score

The majority of bad user reviews here are based on the game's launch - which as expected, was difficult. But now that the game is working flawlessly, it's fantastic and I am happy to say it is currently rivalling the greatness of WotLK. If you enjoyed Burning Crusade, this one is for you. For a company that's been raking in over 70 million a month(on this game alone) you'd think they'd be able to manage these issues.

Frankly, release night was an atrocity, that much is true. However, after logging over 20 hours in the first two days (I honestly couldn't stop playing) I must say that this iteration of World of Warcraft is by far the most polished and engaging expansion. The story driven questing keeps me interested in the lore of Draenor, as well as the leveling process, and I've got to say this is by far one of the least "grindy" leveling experiences I've had. The main characters of antagonists of Draenor, the Warlords, are easy to relate to, they have much more emotion to them than almost any other character I've interacted with in previous installments of the game.

Although there were a few bugs that I've seen people mentioning (such as flight paths, garrisons, and some quests) I really didn't have much trouble. There were only two times that I actually had to force quit the game and re-log to continue playing.

The Garrisons feature is also a very fun and interactive way to progress with the story as well as professions. Having a sense of "owning" something more than just what's in your characters inventory is a very liberating feeling. It sets you apart from other people on a higher level while at the same time giving you even more interaction with the world around you.

Warlords of Draenor is brilliant. The whole garrison idea was pure genius. The game is fun again in ways I didn't think Blizzard could accomplish. Remember that feeling when you first started playing WoW, especially if you played vanilla WoW? WoD brings it all back with its addictive game play. This expansion is truly amazing and should win awards!

Do not be deceived by a lot of the negative reviews. There were some connection issues the first few days of the release on 11/13/2014. This has been resolved.

I have been playing since BC, and can say that this is not the best expansion to be released in my view. I would have to say LK was. But it is a solid expansion that after the dullness of cata and the stupidly long length of time MOP was current its been worth the wait.

There has been alot of changes that are long overdue. The ability pruning and making of the classes more distinguishable from each other was very much needed.

The questing and zones are very nice. Questing has been simplified down so you can level very quickly (much needed after leveling 0-90 to get to this point don't forget) The zones are beautiful to look at, There is lots of things to do in the zones bar quest.

The garrisons are fun and enjoyable but do start to become a bore after a while. There is still enough to do in them though to keep you at least logging on once or twice a day.

The LFR system is as it was, crap. But only due to the people in it. The normal raids are fun and enjoyable, nothing feels like a boring tank and spank fight, nearly all require at least part of a brain (unlike MOP).

My only disappointment would be that there is no new central hub for players (Dalaran or Shat) due to you being able to do everything in your garrison. Also that some professions have become almost redundant (Mining and herbalism)

Overall if your a player that left during Cata or MOP you would enjoy this expansion. Its not going to blow you away like BC or WOTLK did. But it will make the game enjoyable and draw you back in, that I have no doubt.

The only thing left for me was raiding, and it was either insanely easy with LFR which granted junk items, or pretty darn difficult for the other raids....What urks me most about WoW is the insanely low drop rates of items...I mean I ran a raid 40 times, and only never got the 15% drop rate item....it wouldnt be so bad if you could get loot drops more than once a week. WoD was just too much of a grindfest for me. Its like they abandoned the RPG/questing for PVP & raiding. I actually really liked MoP and I didnt even finish all teh quests. I had all the WoD quests completed for a single toon in the first month. If they hadnt mucked up crafting so badly I would probably had been content doing profession stuff. Unfortunately all crafting hinges on savage blood which is just annoying to have to farm. and being able to buy game time with gold, you pretty much have to grind & farm just for that all month, so instead of grinding for gear or raiding you would be grinding for play time so it was totally pointless. They need to look to SWTOR for their subscription levels, I would probably be playing at least on a free to play and every so often throwing some cash in, but instead I look at the monthly cost and how much enjoyment Im getting out of it versus other games available to me. I might take advantage of the free 7 days available from the 6.2 patch, but I dunno......PVP is so unbalanced, raids are hard to get into anything above LFR...forget PUGs ,you will sit there for 5 hours waiting. The garrison idea was cool, but it missed the mark. Expand

I played WoW hardcore for its first six years and loved it. It began to really slip for me after Lich King and now is just a shell of itself. They have really mailed-in everything about it - not improving the graphics, the talents and progression are actually worse, and the quests are so bland and copy pasta it is ridiculous.

An improvement on the previous expansion in my opinion, as the new story and content for levelling is much more enjoyable and in line with more traditional WOW lore. The continued "casual" additions are ok in terms of dungeons and now raiding, however garrisons additions are lacklustre and not particularly fun.

I'm editing my original 10/10 review. On retrospect this turned out to be one of the worst expansions. The raiding was good, and Tanaan Jungle was a fun zone that was added later, but the rest was a failure with tons of cut content. Not that this matters much in 2018. WoW still remains my favorite MMORPG.

Anyone who claims that Battle for Azeroth or Shadowlands are worse than Warlords of Draenor is either being a contrarian or looking through rose-tinted glasses. Warlords of Draenor was an abysmal expansion that added only two worthwhile features: new character models and the convenience of having an additional Hearthstone.

There is no excuse for the disaster that is Warlords of Draenor.

There is no excuse for the disaster that is Warlords of Draenor. The only good thing that can be said about it is that because the developers decided to seemingly halt development a few months into the expansion's life cycle, they were able to pour more resources into the next expansion and give us Legion, which was a great expansion.

But unfortunately, the damage had already been done, and to this day there are many who left the game and never returned. All because of Warlords of Draenor.

The expansion was mostly fine in the beginning (aside from the terrible launch), the questing and leveling experience was very engaging, definitely the best one so far. However once you hit level cap, there's very little to do outside of raiding. PVP also got the short end of the stick and arena participation was at lowest it's ever been.

This shift of focus has largely alienated those who enjoy hardcore raiding, and profession balance has been upset by the new Garrison mechanics, but I would say that if you enjoy WoW for it's exploration and world content; then WoD should be very enjoyable to you.

As for the profession problems, Blizzard has made a lot of questionable changes, however professions are still very viable gold makers for the people who adapt to the changes, rather than becoming a sniveling mess over the features that daddy (Blizzard) took away.

Personally, I was formerly a hardcore raider during Wrath, and after a few years off since the Cataclysm expansion disaster, I came back looking for a more casual and relaxed experience that didn't depend much on raiding. and that's exactly what I found in WoD.

When first starting from level 90 and venturing off into Draenor, you find yourself helping a group of characters destroy the Portal which was built to breach the gateway between Draenor and Azeroth. From here you have to progress through each zone all while building up your army of allies to ultimately defeat the group that tried to invade Azeroth.

    Single Player Gameplay
The single player content with this game contains basically two things: Leveling up through the zones and your Garrison. At first glance the sound of having your own "town" that you can control people and buildings may intrigue you, but we will get back to that in a minute. The leveling up process through Draenor is fantastic. The zones are designed with progression in mind from one location to another and there always is a bread crumb trail for you to follow to easily find your way. The implementation of Rare mobs and treasures made each zone more fun and exciting because you could pick up extra equipment to make yourself stronger. You'd also be able to find and unlock followers on your adventures which would assist you with duties in your Garrison.

The garrisons are set up in 3 levels, with each level unlocking as you grow in level and progress through the game. Each level offers more of a variety of buildings to help with professions, resource gathering, follower requirement, daily quest hubs and even PvP. At first you'll be extremely excited about this because you will have most everything at your finger tips, but you soon realize that all you do is log on to your character, do your garrison "stuff" and then log off because there is nothing else to do for end game content. The Mine and the Herb garden utterly destroyed gathering professions because you didn't need to have either one to obtain materials needed for crafting. This also hurt the economy because this now wasn't a viable way to make any gold. Professions were gated now behind a daily cooldown building in your garrison that you needed to make certain items. On top of that any secondary stats (Mastery, Mutlistrike, Haste, Versatility) that you were given from the items were completely randomized. The follower mission table was just that, you basically became the quest giver and sent your followers out on missions. You don't get to do the missions any more, they do. This now became the primary way of making money in Warlords of Draenor because with little effort you could send your followers out and they'd bring you back gold, experience and even loot from raids. The shipyard addition in 6.2 would just end up being another mission table. This made end game solo content, basically non existent.

    Multiplayer
The multiplayer for Warlords of Draenor for the most part was well designed in terms of the Raids and Dungeons. The raids, if you were able to do them on the higher difficulties offered a variety of challenges that required a high amount of teamwork along with personal skill and accountability. The dungeons were well designed for first hitting level 100, but grew tiresome quickly with the fact that there were only 8 dungeons to choose from, one of which was a rehash from Vanilla WoW. There weren't any new dungeons added, only harder difficulties and timewalking which is just a rehash of old dungeons from all the previous expansions.

PvP is a joke, no new battlegrounds or Arenas were added and Ashran, which was supposed to be like AV or Wintersgrasp, actually felt more like PvE with a group of people rather than Actual PvP with objectives. Its insanely easy to get gear up for PvP and doesn't offer any incentive to keep doing it.

The overall story of the game is rather convoluted and you can see the end product was changed and rushed. Without giving away any spoilers, the end boss isn't who you think it should be. Normally Blizzard puts a lot more time and effort into their stories and is one of the reasons their games are so popular, that's why it's so painful to see how poor this one was written.

    Graphics and Sound
The art style and attention to details by Blizzard's art team are superb. You can really see all the hard work that went into each zone and all the new characters, weapons and armor. Although it may not be perfect, it is probably the best part of this expansion. The sound via music and voice acting was also top notch.

TL:DR Overall the game is average at best and to me deserves a score of about a 4 (the art and music bumps the overall score to a 5) . If you are able to raid, you will find it fun for a few months, but even then all you will find yourself doing is logging on to do garrison "stuff" and raiding. Here is to hoping Blizzard learns from their mistakes for Legion!

WoD though, I thought it was an interesting concept. Go back in time to before Outland/Draenor got wrecked. Story arc was interesting and engaging for me, but still all about yo-yo quests. you know, the "go there, come back. go over there, then come back. Oh, you know that place you left three hours ago? Yeah...go there and come back again." But that's to be expected.

My main issue with WoW pretty much since Burning Failure is the bloody dailies. They pretty much make playing the game a second occupation. Rep grinds, crafting material grinds, just grind after grind after grind....and none of it meaningful. Just busy work for the sake of distracting you from the fact that Blizzard really, if you think about it, didn't give you much in this expansion.

Content-wise....they basically gave you enough to do to hit 100 in a day. Yes, a single day folks. I know because I did it. 7 times. what does that tell you? At that point....guess what you are left with?

    Grinding.

Or going to finishing quests for gold. Either way...a grind.

Now Blizzard says they will start putting out an xpac every year instead of every 2-3. What will that solve if you barely give us anything meaningful to do to begin with? I literally spent more time running all my toons back through old raids for transmog gear than I ever did doing the actual content in WoD....and found it MORE fulfilling.

Listen to your players Blizzard....you keep ignoring us much longer and we might just leave to go play Age of Conan.

My quarrel with Warlords of Draenor is that it does not define the direction for the whole game – it just refreshes it and sets it in order, which is what patches do. There’s not enough novelties and the changes (e.g. randomized loot) are hit and miss. [01/2015, p.52]
