Not only did Activision-Blizzard release an unfinished, unforgivably buggy and unoptimized game, but they also REMOVED dozens of features from the original game and even the ability to play the old version.

    Activision-Blizzard is not even a shell of its former self, it is a sentient, malignant tumor grown from the reputation of the long gone old guard at Blizzard. The company effortlessly propels itself toward EA levels of poor reputation with each subsequent game announcement and release. This is the company, many years ago, that gave us the original Warcraft 3, World of Warcraft, Diablo II and Starcraft, yet it is almost unrecognizable as the “For Games, By Gamers” brand we grew to respect and support. I genuinely feel for the developers on the Blizzard teams that are forced to pick up the slack of their co-workers who were fired without reason and work under the unrealistic, corporate inspired, and truly profit driven decision making process enforced by the soul crushing, enigmatic Activision Entity.

    I will not give this game 1 point out of 10, as it not only released a 1/10 alpha equivalent of the game, but it also destroyed the old playable version of the 2003 release. Activision-Blizzard, you are a joke - although that may be saying too much, because at least jokes have meaning.    … Expand

    Постыдились бы Blizzard и убрали обещания, размещенные на заглавной странице игры на официальном сайте. Это ведь и правда какой-то позор. Практически ничего из ими заявленного в игре реализовано не было. Игровые модели созданы третьей компанией из Тайвани, катсцен нет, изменений нет. Эта игра не стоит своих денег.    Полная фигня.

    Game has half of the promised features. Nothing was working at the release, it's full of crashes, the performance is horrible...

    Blizzard will never return to normal.

В итоге дикий даунгрейд, куча невыполненных обещаний, и в добавок перенос релиза. И что же вышло? Просто обновление моделек, просто новая графика. Да пусть было бы так, но blizzard добавили множество багов, да и с оптимизацией нисколько не поработали. И что в итоге? Абсолютно сырой, неготовый продукт с отсутствиемкакого-либо наполнения с худшей озвучкой(для снг региона). Компания правильно расставляет приоритеты. Зачем делать хорошо, если можно прорекламировать и сделать плохо? Зачем уделять время легендарной игре, проявлять уважение к игрокам и фанатам, если можно просто заработать деньги? Blizzard сделала свой выбор. Для меня кампания умерла и я лично больше не буду играть ни в один их продукт. Прости warcraft, мы всё про*бали.… Expand

    For Russian players old voice casting was big part of the game. It was loved by many fans of WarCraft 3. Now its gone after Reforged version. With many bugs i cant rate positive this game.

    We paid money for a full game, we were promised new hangman scenes, reworked maps, new plot twists … But what to say here, they have not even changed the game download logo !!! Shame on Blizzard! It is a shame to these developers who brazenly lie and steal money from us by selling one product and giving out another! This is a huge hoax!     So far, after playing the game for an hour. I started off stunned. The intro cinematic was incredible. I was so excited to get started but then I started playing and while... I was so excited from the nostalgia... I rapidly lost it and it groaned to a stop. Its literally a 30$ texture pack. Upgraded some textures... did a couple cutscenes. and called it a day. Even though its truly crummy. If you have never played warcraft 3. Please. buy the Original. Yes the graphics may be dated. But the game was fun, the elements were all there and it was made by a group of people who cared about their games. Not about how much money they could cram in their wallet.… Expand

    It's just sad.A game that was the pillar of warcraft and in so many people hearts,to be treated this way is almost a crime.They should've paid respect to the people who made the original and deliver to us a great remaster,not for us but for them,the people who gave their passion and energy to make Blizzard and all the great games which are getting butchered right now.     Movement is weird. Also no widescreen support. Also they take ownership of any map idea you have. Not much about this is reforged except models and the tos.

    Not at all what was promised. 30€ got me new skins for units and terrain. This is a disgrace for the glory days. My nostalgia made me buy it and I regret it. Could’ve been amazing. Such a great game and such a bad remaster.

    This game can't run at higher fps than 60 fps.
    Movement is locked to 30 fps.
    The game stutters a lot.
    This is so sad.

I could be really harsh on this game and give it what I want to give it (a 1 out of 10) but I'll be kind because I know they underpaid some outsourced workers to develop this and they did an okay job given what resources I'm sure Blizzard alotted.     One more statement new about Russian sounding: it sucks. Sucks as much as no other thing can do. This is literally a person reading from a script without ANY voice acting.     The worst remaster of my life. Awful optimization of 10 fps constantly. It is impossible to play. Servers do not work, and if they work, they immediately turn off. Why it was necessary to redo the Russian voice acting remains a mystery. The graphics are terrible to pain in the eyes. I regret the money spent.

    Finished product takes a step back from the Beta. Server issues at launch are understandable and not much of a concern. However, the state of this "finished product" - by a billion dollar developer no less - is abysmal to a degree I haven't seen in a long while.

    An absolute DISGRACE by Activision-Blizzard. Full of bugs, some of the new models look unfinished, character portraits do not talk like they used to in the original game, the terrain is significantly worse than the original, they banned more half of the old maps, took out beloved features such as custom campaigns. All in all a massive letdown and you're better off getting the original game.

    I made an account on Metacritic just to post this review. I think all the other negative reviews perfectly sum up my dissatisfaction with the game. I’m still amazed that it’s possible to release a nearly 20-year-old game this broken and downgraded from the original (removed features like custom campaigns, questionable graphical upgrade that wasn’t what was originally promised at BlizzconI made an account on Metacritic just to post this review. I think all the other negative reviews perfectly sum up my dissatisfaction with the game. In fact, they've stripped a lot of the features that made WC3 classic great. Далее охренел от убогих портретов героев, безэмоцианальные дубины, которые еле открывают рты. Поиграв минуты 2-3 прочувствовал просадки до 10-30 кадров с 60.

With a unexpected kill on the original Frozen throne client, that has been there since the day it came out. Warcraft III Reforged is really just a warcraft III re-regulated, every custom game is owned by blizzard.     wow what a freaking dissapointment . so many things they could have done better and so many promises they broke . i put this mark not because game itself could have been much better which it could but for terrible attitude to warcraft community in general . activision and other gaming companies need to stop treating community like bunch of clueless kids .

    Just buy the original WC3 and save all your money. Performance caps, missing features, and videos "from the game" that aren't even almost representative.

    Should have been a free upgrade, not a desperate money grab from a formerly renowned company on its way out.

    It must have been at the beginning that the developers wanted to completely redo the game, but then they realized that there was a lot of work to do and just scored on the game releasing an extremely crude product, not optimized, unfinished, maybe it will somehow fix it, but now I put a well-deserved mark of "0"

The reworked cutscenes are not as advertised and constantly avoid showing facial expressions. The voice acting is 95% reused. The sound files aren't even remastered, they're the exact same as classic. The other 5% are minor changes. There is no additional dialogue.

    For the years Blizzard had since they announced it, it really seems it was only worked on in the last 6 months by a team of less than ten people.    … Expand

    World of Warcraft and Blizzard have been in a decline, in various aspects, for a long time save for some notable exceptions such as World of Warcraft: Legion and Starcraft: Legacy of the Void, but many of there old titles, like Warcraft 3, have managed to stay a reminder of what the name Blizzard Entertainment used to stand for. That makes this contraste even more apparent.
    In a release that is borderline False Advertisement and poor marketing decisions, Activision Blizzard's new release is a mess that goes beyond bugs at release, its more deeper than that. First announced at the annual convention Blizzcon2018, the news of Warcraft 3: Reforged was received by the audience with extreme support and praise. The game promised to revitalise the classic and bring it to a new audience of RTS players and to the much larger World of Warcraft audience, with additions to it's story that would bring it closer to it's MMORPG sequel, new voice actors, sharp modern ingame and CGI cinematics cutscenes of the quality that only Blizzard is famous for, and the notion that the developers would stay in contact with it's fanbase on the game's forums during production. Blizzard allowed customers to buy the game when they announced it by pre ordering on there online store, with the time window release of "on or before 31 decembre 2019". This ended up being a mistake.
    At the time of writing this, it is unknown if Activision lost fait in there new RTS or budget cuts happen or even if the Classic Team at Blizzard didn't noticed the monumental size of their 18 year old game. What is know is that the time for development was severely too short.
    What followed was a year of complete silence from Blizzard on the development of there game. With only news being reported by fan sites, such as Wowhead.com, on news directed at the chinese audience, with no equivalent at the western audience. The news that Blizzard had outsourced to another company to make all the new models for characters and doodads was also meet with suspicion, since the company is notorious for not relying on others, and keeping development 'in house'. The full year of zero marketing and communication stopped at Blizzcon2019, Blizzard's Classic Tem, the team in charge of bringing new life into the old titles, reveald that the planes for the game had changed significantly. No longer there would be additions to the story to make it current with the the setting's lore, safe for some minuscule map changes and no longer would there be new voice acting. And the cinematics would retain there old and stiff camera work, and the big CGI cinematics at the beginning and end of the various campaigns would be the old ones, but Blizzard reassured that they would be upped to HD resolution, what was head scratching at best considering that one could find them online professionally remastered by dedicated fans in HD for many years, and recently as far as 8k resolution. The multiplayer aspect of the game was also meet with some critic during it's beta phase, bugs of all kind, disconnect and poor graphical choices, were some of the critics sent at the game. The game was also delayed for a month at the end of december with a release date for january 28, 2020. The original price tag of $29.99 and $39.99 for the Spoils of War Edition was supposed to cover all the changes that the game would bring to the table, but with all the cut content payers are meet with a very expensive paint job. Warcraft 3 is still a classic that has aged very well but its Reforged counterpart has failed to meet the legendary legacy of it's older self. Warcraft 3: Reforged is in Blizzard's Battle.Net online launcher, so the hope remains that the game may patch it's many mistakes over the following months, but that's most likely be the job of its dedicated fan modding community.

    The bottom line is that Warcraft 3: Reforged was released a shell of what supposed to be and a overpriced cash grab at best. If you don't own the old version of the game it my be worth buying, but if you do own the classic version you better wait for it to be on a massive discount sale.    … Expand

    I don't know if i'm more disappointed in the game or knowing that this is modern day Blizzard as a company. Over promise and under deliver. Its a shame as i'm sure there are many Blizzard employees that work really hard to bring the fans great games but when a product in this state is pushed out the door its simply a reminder not to pre-order and to not trust large corporate publishers.    … Expand

    Blizzard has addressed some of the complaints and criticism hurled its way, and has promised to work on many of these issues. Naturally, one must ask why the game was released in such a state, especially considering the negative attention the company has garnered over the past year with the reveal of Diablo Immortal and the Blizzard/China controversy.

    In the end it’s worth noting that when viewing a remake or remaster what needs to be taken into consideration is the source material, how it looks, feels, and plays. That is, in addition to the work carried out to recreate moments, update visuals, and change any of the presentation. To do otherwise would be silly, a terrible game with a wonderful remaster doesn’t warrant a high score. In the case of Warcraft III, the inverse to that is also true. So, what we end up with is something in-between. A classic reborn, in a package that doesn’t warrant all that much in the way of celebration.
