    I was really excited for the reforged and pre-ordered a copy back in the fall of 2018 when it was announced as available to purchase. This would have been the first time I'd ever played the RTS game. I am severely disappointed in this version of it. Or at least nothing like we were lead to believe it would be in the advertisements shown.

    This has game breaking bugs that prevent folks from even getting through the prologue. (I got hit with this one) and they can't even play the game because of the prologue defeat bug. Features that were there in the original that are not there in reforged.

    I'm just disappointed even more so that they are denying refunds to people that pre-ordered and or bought the game. It just feels like a major cash grab to boost their sales back up from the failing that BfA has been on the company.

    I actually made a meta critic account just so I could give this game a review much like others have.

    My advice don't bother with this unless they severely fix the **** they broke and or unlink the original from reforged. Then buy the original from another source so you aren't forced to buy this garbage heap of a redo of a game.    … Expand

My advice is to pull the game that you falsely advertised and refund everyone: then pool your countless funds and resources into either creating a from-scratch remake (with re-done cinematics and actual gameplay improvements; not just a reskin) or an actual big-budget sequel to the RTS Warcraft games. You would probably not profit from doing so, but it would at the very least help to retain your reputation and show that you actually care - God knows you need that about right now.… Expand

    Saying this is game was a disappointment is an understatement. Blizzard used to be known and loved for the high bar it set for quality of games it released. Between the buggy play and head-scratching lack of feature improvement. I have lost a lot of trust with what was once my favorite developer.

What’s the most terrible part is that they realized an update for the original W3 that completely destroyed it. They had removed the old soundtrack and voice acting and replaced imthem with the new ones...

The campaign is on the must play list for every gamer wanting to experience the gems of this media and custom games have a lot of wacky and unique user created game modes.     This is NOT what Blizzard advertised, this is a reskined WC3 that was NOT done tastefully, it somehow looks worse than the original game that was released 17 years ago, and have LESS feature than it. This game also deleted my original WC3 without my consent, advertising and selling a game like this should be illegal

    I spent thousands of my childhood hours playing Warcraft III, and this cash grab stomps on that childhood, tries to charge us for access to it, and then provides nothing when you do pay.

    Isn't that the same definition as ransomware?

    Broke the original game. The difference in the quality of the graphics. What worked in the old version is broken. The beautiful Russian voice acting disappeared. The game began to look like a cheap fake for mobile platforms. There is no network functionality, profiles, clans. And of course we did not receive the promised.

    My disappointment is so massive I made a metacritic account just to review this.

    My campaign had the infinite defeat loop and once i heard about the custom map debacle I gave up all hope of this game having any sort of decent play-ability.

    They are gonna ban any kind of support for the original creator, like Patrons and Kofee, not gonna let the creator EVEN WORK FOR THEM, EVEN IF THEY ARE TAKING THEIR MODS WITHOUT PERMISSION.
    I know they ain't gonna let us do mods with copyrighted content, like the old DBZ mods or Pokewar, but they haven't used to be a problem, because they never made it to Workshop but ModDB or Nexus or other pages
    I also have seen fake spam accounts from Blizzard employees throwing **** and hate messages to old community-knowledged modders, the real famous ones
    One of them had to delete any kind of social media AND EVEN HIS BUSSINESS MAIL, but at least, he has been seen very active in a game with a lot of modding content and even official support for modders, giving them a sort of monetary compensation, I think the game is called Ravenfield

    TL:DR - Blizzard is gonna take your work away without any kind of permission and **** with your modder life

    Edit: Also they ain't gonna let you update the mod, let's say that WC3R has been updated and the mod is not compatible with the new version, they ain't gonna let you update it, instead, they are. Gonna. LITERALLY. DELETE. THAT. MOD. Is gone!

    I've been playing Blizzard games since 2008 and up until recently you could pre-order a game and have no fear about being disappointed. This game was almost criminally mis-advertised and comes out in this state even 6-7 months late than originally advertised? Missing so many promised features? Even a zero is too high a score for this Activision game. Yes, Activision. So all saves from the maps that people played in var3 (RPG, for example) will not work at all (because they were attached to a nickname) Changing models is the only thing done. There is no real reforging. There is no optimization, in TKOK only 20 fps in the city. 20 fps in war3.
    The interface has become much less convenient (the old battle is gone and it was better, but I really hoped it would be improved). How to add a friend in the game? NO WAY. You need to go out or open the battle.net and add it from there and so on.    … Expand

    The problem everyone has with this game is they forced people out of the old version - into this new version, which is worse in most ways, and also not what was promised.

    "blizzard" is a dieng company bought out by greedy activision who either hires cheap employees (i know they pay lower than competition) or just treats their employees like crap so the game results are poor at best.

    What a horrible disappointment for blizzard. When warcraft 2 tides of darkness came out it was phenomenal when warcraft 3 came out it was ridiculously bad. Why would they bother to remake this horrible game and then make it worse than the trailer looks. Money hungry developers.

    As a genuine fan of Blizzard Games, it is a sad day where I have to make a metacritic account just to voice my overgrowing frustration with a company, let alone a game I use to enjoy and love growing up. Many reviews said it better, broken and buggy and ultimately not what was promised. RIP Blizzard. We apparently hardly knew you.

    Pre-ordered upon announcement based on my long love of all things Warcraft and the apparent strength of the remaster as shown in the footage. Severely disappointed by Blizzard for what they released - a marginally graphically upscaled version of the original game with some of the original content missing, and some cosmetics that you can only use in custom games.     Never played wc3 but some of my friends did and it was a really good game, BUT I've played starcraft2 and NOW the CUSTOM GAME is completely gutted (and i loved it) since new blizzards TOS screw with all modded games, so thank you blizzard.

I was waiting to get fresh experience in Warcraft 3 campaign but I got same as original has. Why to pay 30€ of game you already own and it don't give you anything new?     Blizzard has addressed some of the complaints and criticism hurled its way, and has promised to work on many of these issues. Naturally, one must ask why the game was released in such a state, especially considering the negative attention the company has garnered over the past year with the reveal of Diablo Immortal and the Blizzard/China controversy.

    In the end it’s worth noting that when viewing a remake or remaster what needs to be taken into consideration is the source material, how it looks, feels, and plays. That is, in addition to the work carried out to recreate moments, update visuals, and change any of the presentation. To do otherwise would be silly, a terrible game with a wonderful remaster doesn’t warrant a high score. In the case of Warcraft III, the inverse to that is also true. So, what we end up with is something in-between. A classic reborn, in a package that doesn’t warrant all that much in the way of celebration.

    If you set your expectations a little lower, then Warcraft 3: Reforged is a game worth of your time and money. Sadly, for many of us out there, we were expecting a little more.
