What a lovely indie game. Story and characters are interesting, combat system is innovative. It is a game redifines the meaning of story telling. The punishment for S/L also catches me.

I don't like undertale, its 3.5/10 for me, music is ok (most tracks are good, but some are too similar to tracks from other games), but humour is too childish, most of time it was cringe-fest, I laughed only 2-3 times in 13 hours (true pacyfist with going everywhere and calling to papyrus (best character btw.)). No achivements is another flaw, because it would encourage to play it more (if you dont really enjoy story like me). Maybe Im just just too old for this game.

Brak osiągnięć to też minus.

    - Toby Fox represents himself as a dog. Keep this in note while playing the game.

    - Amazing sound track, you could not hear in other games.

    - Pretty cool Earthbound references since (Maybe) he was inspired because of it.

    - There are hidden dogs. Try to find them all!

    - Great graphics! The pixel art really reminded me of old RPG games.

I simply don't understand why people can be so negative towards this game. I mean, the graphics aren't the best, not by a long shot, but they don't need to be to convey what the game is trying to convey. I had no issues understanding what was what, and I found the simplistic art made it easy to continue forwards without being distracted.

The soundtrack is good. Damn good. Like, "I'd stick this OST on an iPod and listen to it everyday" good.

The gameplay is fun enough. The difference between this game and standard RPGs is that, to avoid attacks, you must endure a small bullet-hell sequence rather than simply having high stats and praying to RNGsus. I like this difference as it means you have to actually get good at the game rather than simply grinding for better stats.

The story is enjoyable, without giving too much away. It also somehow manages to really shift one's view of the game at points if played blindly, and oftentimes makes players wonder "what if I did things differently?". The developer had a lot of foresight and seemed to know how players would think and work in certain scenarios, so props to him for that.

Overall, it's a good experience, easily one of the best games of 2015, and a game that I can wholeheartedly recommend to basically anyone.

After finishing my play-through, I understood why this game received so much praise. I can't spoil the game too much but I can say that writing, audio and narrative of the game are worth the price of admission. While I do criticize the graphical choices (having no idea whether to stick with black and white or go full color for some sequences) and the bullet-hell game-play (especially without a controller), the game offered characters that had genuine traits and flaws, humorous writing filled with meta-references and subversion of typical cliches, a soundtrack that blends with the narrative for great effect, and a conclusion that leaves the player with the satisfaction of completing the experience.
This is a game that can bring tears due to the writing and music blending together with game-play that works due to the player being immersed in the game.

If there is a game to buy this year, Undertale should be one of them (unless you are not looking for RPGs or bullet-hell games). One tip, keep the game's main tag-line in mind.

    Alright back to the review:
The graphic looks much unique than any other games I seen nowadays, but it gives me this good feeling about the good old times from great RPG games. The game play, storyline, and even the graphic was great! In addition, it has great soundtracks and super secret things that Toby Fox has added. All the cleverness and creativity in this game was put a lot on the game. This game deserves a 10 in my opinion because of all the hard work that Toby Fox had put into in this game. This is probably the best game ever.

I came into this game thinking that this was a normal RPG, unaware of the idea that you can talk your way out of every fight, believing that in the world of RPGs, its KILL OR BE KILLED. At the end of the game, I showed a flower that my previous view on the world or RPGs was wrong. This game is, without a doubt, the best game I have ever played.

Not only does Undertale convince the player that the world is NOT kill or be killed, but, if you do end up killing a lot of monsters, it punishes you, even to the extent of making you fight the most overpowered boss fight that at least I've ever seen, Sans (The game says, if you check him, that he is the easiest enemy, with 1 attack, 1 defense, and 1 hp).

However, if you complete a run without killing anyone and befriending everyone you fight, it rewards you with what I believe to be the most satisfying ending in any video game ever.

Lastly, Photoshop Flowey (Omega Flowey) is the most insane boss fight to get a perfect run on. I've been trying for at least a week to get a damages victory on Omega Flowey, and I haven't even gotten past his first phase. (Either that or I'm just horrible at Undertale.)

I think that's what hits the players the most. It's the story. The past, the present, and the future all tie into this game. And another well-planned factor is that your own life feels impacted by the story. UNDERTALE is not a game in which you beat the story, and forget about it soon after. You will be so moved by some of the dialogue and backgrounds, that maybe you will change after experiencing this game.

Not to mention, the soundtrack of this game is beautiful. It strengthens the story by a mile. (Without reading the comment section, search up Reunited or ASGORE if you'd like. A little spoilery, but it is some of the best soundtracks in my opinion.)

If you want to play this game, don't wiki up the plot or any of the characters. Just see what happens as you play it yourself. It's worth it.

And don't believe the critics that say this game is for young children. In no way is it suitable, because there are hints of dark and sinister themes. But don't let this scare you. UNDERTALE also has elements of adorable, dorky, and happy themes.

Hope your adventure is filled with DETERMINATION.

When someone says something "deconstructs" a medium they mean that the piece is pointing out some standard technique or situation in the genre that the deconstructing piece is in(this is often done humorously or used for emotional effect). An example would be as follows: in FPS games damage to your character is often shown as your screen becoming red around the edges. A deconstruction of that would be something like your character saying "ack blood in my eyes again!" (After all, why would your character's vision become red from being shot in the torso?)
A word of warning, deconstructions work best if you have a decent background in the genre the deconstruction is taking place in. You won't understand or appreciate the deconstruction as much if you aren't familiar with the standards of the genre. A lot of the references and clever tricks will sail over your head.

To me, this game is mostly about being quirky and deconstructing jrpgs/breaking your expectations for this type of game. The graphics are not that good (however I've never been one to care about such things). The humor in this game is mostly punny/"bad" humor. I quite enjoy this type of humor but others may not. A bonus is that this game is very cheap so you don't have to worry about wasting your money if you don't like it (if you're so strapped for cash that 10 bucks is a big deal you probably shouldn't be buying video games).

I've seen people calling the fans as bad as Bronies, but the humor in-game is more along the lines of the Adventure Time fanbase from a few years back. The characters are pretty entertaining through, and the story is solid, but pretty simple, maybe up until near the end of Pacifist Mode. I really liked Undertale and I think all the hate it gets is undeserved. Just because a game has huge glaring flaws, predictable plot, almost no replayability and gameplay which fails to capture interest after a few battles doesn't mean the game isn't perfect!

There is no way to explain Undertale other than spoiling the story. It is crucial nothing inside the game is revealed because everything, as in EVERYTHING is part of the story.
It is a game where you can either spread peace and hope or despair and death.
It is a game where you get to make friends with everyone in the game.
Also, dogs. This game has a lot of them.

This game (for all intents and purposes a passion project of a single developer) takes the classic RPG experience and scrutinizes everything about it. Every character archetype and every game mechanic that you'd expect to see in a classic RPG title is picked apart and flipped head-over-heels, sometimes subtly, but often in mindbogglingly creative ways.

Everything in the game feels purposeful and inspired; no lame fetch quests, grinding or other filler content here. The story itself is relatively short, likely spanning only single-digit hours, but the branching story, the multiple endings and the creative deconstruction of the SAVE/LOAD mechanic makes for a lot of replay value. Though the bulk of the story is laid out for the player over the course of a few main routes, there's also a lot of hidden content beneath the surface. If you want to know everything the game has to tell you without consulting a wiki, it's going to take some serious digging.

For those are so stupid to not understand what I write, I'll make a quick sum up.

THIS GAME IS GOOD, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!

With that said, I have soooo many issues with it and despite the fact that I understand why this game is good, in my opinion, this was the most boring game I've ever played in 2015. I couldn't get past the third boss for how mind numbingly boring it was, and how the morality "system" is so utterly and insanely broken and flawed, that I just couldn't keep playing. It's definitely one of those games where you either love it or hate it. Guess which side I am?

But first things first: if people love this game there must be reasons and there ARE reasons: the writing is top notch, the music is BRILLIANT and SUPERB (seriously, I hate the game but I constantly listen to its music) and the gameplay is varied and enjoyable (I guess?). The game is story based and so you'll end up following it in order to finish it, rather than playing it for the gameplay. If I have to pick a real flaw it would be its length: you can finish it the first time in about 6 hours...but it's one of those games that forces you to restart at least once in order to get the true ending, "because that's good development sign"

Jokes aside, I honestly have no issue with its technical aspect: it's fantastic, and it has no real issues with almost anything...but then why do I hate this game so much?

It's simple: the game itself is, in a very general way of speaking, a "teaching game" of how "killing is bad" and "doing the right thing is good" and that's a very rough way of describing it. There is more to it, but the game will essentially punish you for doing any evil things and reward you for doing good things. There is a neutral ending, yes, but it's still the same thing.

I'm sorry, I heard this game was supposed to be SO advanced in terms of morality, but all I'm seeing is a dumbed down version of Mass Effect all of those morality system we have so far: I really don't feel invested on being good or evil, because being evil automatically locks you from the good ending WITHOUT ANY WAYS OF REDEEMING YOURSELF. In addition, I found the characters extremely annoying and hard to care about, I wished I could kill them...but if I kill even one of them, I get the bad ending so what's the point?

And that's also sad because the fighting is actually good: everytime you get to fight, you have the chance to avoid incoming damage by actually avoiding the enemy attacks, which is a great thing! However, if you decide to go for pacifist, you won't gain exp and levels and will be stuck at lvl 1...i-isn't that so much fun? y-y-y-yay...yay....

But I understand all of this: the game is all about to be rewarded for doing the good things, and being punished for the bad things...but I'm sorry we all know that this is not true: sometimes you have to act bad for achieving the good, and being good will often lead you "to the bad ending". That's not a theory: it's a life fact, it's a thing that happens all the time and that's why this game really bothers me.

Plus, I don't need a game to tell me that killing is bad and Undertale, on this part, was treating me like an idiot.

So despite the rant, I highly recommend this game...because it's good, it's NOT FOR ME but I can see why it's good for many others: it's detailed, it's filled with passion and has nothing terrible going on. But it might or might not bother you about its message and story parts, which really discouraged me to get through the true ending and because I honestly didn't care a single bit about its character: they were boring, and if I tried to act differently than "goodie goodie", I'd get a slap for being "evily evil".

On this morality regard, I just played better games...and overall, better rpgs.

    CONTROL/MECHANICS = 9
I do not like Role-Playing Games. Walking Simulator games are validly criticized for having all the interactivity of pressing the "Play" button on a DVD, an experience that could be faithfully recreated by watching a full-length playthrough on Youtube (with branching extra Youtube videos to click on if you make alternate choices in the game). By that standard, RPG's are sequences of Youtube videos where you must roll dice to see if you get to watch the next video or must restart and roll again. All of the "gameplay" is accomplished internally by the RPG's random number generator, your nigh-omnipotent gaming PC wasted rendering what is essentially a card game with a coat of paint over it. I remember playing Final Fantasy on the original NES and thinking that the lack of gameplay was a concession to the limitations of the hardware against rendering more action, and that the RPG style of game would die out in future generations, and to this day I still can't believe I was wrong about that.
Fortunately, Undertale is not an RPG. The core gameplay is moving your character's heart icon out of the way of enemy attacks, like a Bullet Hell shooter where you can't shoot back, to avoid taking damage. Cleverly, each enemy type has different but character-specific attack patterns to learn and adapt to.
In between each defense, you have the option of either attacking or talking to the enemy. Talking is kind of like a conversation puzzle where you try and figure out which of the options is having the right effect, until the enemy is willing to surrender on request.
Attacking is, frankly, disappointing, the same timer minigame every time, pressing "Z" when the line crosses the exact center, like the field goal mechanic in "NFL Blitz 2001". You'll try it a few times, then give up because the conversation tactic is more interesting. Even the Mario RPG series had several attack patterns you could try.
There are also a few puzzles in the overworld which are nice distractions.

    PRESENTATION = 7
The game is rendered in NES-style graphics, with references to alot of games I never played (again, not an RPG fan). It works, but it would have worked better with modern graphics. There are 2D physics in some of the puzzles.
The plot is really excellent, very self-aware and genuinely cognizant of the failings of similar types of games (i.e., it mocks tutorials sort of like "Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon"). Disappointingly, and annoyingly, none of the dialogue is voiced. This game was made in 2015, not 1985, and “homage” only goes so far in excusing the failures of having an insufficient development budget.

    DESIGN = 7
The game is linear, but stays engaging throughout its 6 hour runtime, largely because the enemy attack patterns changed, but also because I could never quite predict what would happen next.
Attacking enemies, however, suffers from the major flaw that if you befriend enemies through conversation, you only get money to buy healing items; but to keep attacking the progressively higher-level enemies without missing, you need to level up, which can only be done through the violent option. So you can't switch back and forth, which inevitably funnels you towards the talking option and the nonviolent ending.
But, overall, Undertale earns its 9 for staying fun and providing a unique experience with entertaining dialogue. It might have gotten a perfect 10 if it hadn’t chained its presentation to the 1980s and if there were more minigames for attacking the enemies.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I'm a bit behind on the times in reviewing this, I know. But I honestly loved this game. I thought what it did with what little it had was very impressive. The story was entertaining and I can't stop listening to the amazing music. Some people are hating on the graphics but I honestly found it very impressive how far the creator was able to go with them. Graphics don't make a game. Story, character, and heart (heh) make a game, which Undertale has plenty of. Regardless, I can't give it a perfect score. Why? There are a few reasons.

I feel like the story needed to be fleshed out a little bit more. According to a walkthrough I read only after completing the game, if you backtrack all the way back to the VERY beginning, you'll be able to talk to Asriel to get more background story "that may be necessary to fully understand the story". Important plot points shouldn't be held back in secret areas like this. The first human was a pretty important detail that needed to be explained further in the main game. Well-hidden areas or conversations are for side details or amusing Easter eggs, not main plot threads. Not only that, but I really would have liked a bit more detail on some of the main characters as well, but that's just a nitpick. Still, what we got was mostly pretty clear, so I wouldn't take away too many points for this.

Also, the combat system is not especially my cup of tea. I'm not personally great at bullet-hell kinds of games, so I felt like that kind of held me back from fully enjoying the game because the combat system often felt more frustrating than I feel it needed to. But that may be just me. Not everyone can be good at every kind of game, after all.

Finally, while I fully enjoyed the differences in morality between killing and sparing creatures, and I feel it made for an incredible difference in dynamic, I feel like the all-or-nothing route was a little bit... excessive? I mean, I don't feel like anyone could really fault a child for fighting a strange creature back when it was hurling attacks at him. However, the extent to which they basically treat you like Hitler after killing almost anything in this game is a little much. As I said, I really do enjoy the game and its different paths, but it REALLY is a little on the nose.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the game, even with these few small criticisms. If you can appreciate the game for what it is without getting hung-up on the graphics or the peculiar combat system, I think there's really something to appreciate here.

Undertale is less a game and more an experience that makes you question not only your actions on a moral level but the very foundations of how video games can tell a story. It completely shatters common barriers between the the in game story and the out of story elements of the game, even turning your game saves into vital plot points.

I don't often give games a straight 10/10 score because normally it denotes an uncritical fanboyish response to a game, but undertale is truely something special, the mere fact that someone could create such a subversive, beautiful and utterly engaging story almost single handedly from a $50k kickstarter is mind boggling and makes this game utterly deserving of such a high score.

For sure, this game is good. It's a well-made game with lots of humor and a great story. But it's definitely not game-of-the-year material. People love indie games because when you don't have producers telling you how to make your game, a lot of really interesting ideas can be implemented in your game, like the combination of an RPG-style combat system with bullet-hell minigames. But this game is more of an interactive story than a game. And I guess that's what an RPG is supposed to be. But look at Pokemon. Look at Fire Emblem. Look at the Mario & Luigi games. Those are all RPGs that have gameplay that's just deep enough that you can be good or bad at them. With Undertale, the gameplay is pretty shallow, meaning it's easy to get the hang of, but not really satisfying. It means you can't be good or bad at the game. Granted, this is a plus to some people, like casual gamers, but to people who like a challenge, it will leave you wanting more.

The story and characters, on the other hand, are original and interesting. They'll make you laugh, they'll make you cry, yadda yadda, no spoilers. But most importantly, they'll make you think critically about the choices you make in the game. Normally, you'd go with your gut reaction when presented with a choice in a video game. But since this game isn't all that long, it really pays to spend some time seriously thinking about whether or not what you're doing is the right thing to do.

In terms of presentation, this game is definitely lacking. The game is not pretty. It looks like it could've been drawn in MS Paint. But to a lot of you, graphics don't matter, so you can ignore what I'm saying. The MUSIC, on the other hand, is some of the best music I've heard in an indie game, or any video game for that matter. Just look up the song "Dummy!" if you have any doubts. It really drives that atmosphere home, because the graphics surely do not.

Overall, this game is really good. For a game that came late on the simple-pixellated-indie bandwagon, it really is a special game. It just really isn't all that fun to play from a gameplay perspective, and it certainly doesn't deserve Game of the Year, especially up against games like Witcher 3 and MGS5. Simply put, this game is overrated, but for all the right reasons.

While the graphics and typical RPG gameplay may be unassuming, there is a treasure lying just beneath the surface; a treasure filled with lovable characters, surprisingly deep moments, and a soundtrack that you'll be humming to yourself for months or even years after you're done playing.

Overall, it's just really difficult to put in words why Undertale is so good. It really needs to be played and experienced to have the full effect. It's honestly one of the best games I've ever played, and anyone who rates it less than a 5/10 is either spiteful, ignorant, or they just plain don't like RPGs.

I would say "This is only my opinion, if you think it's crap, I don't care", but I'm starting to realise how ridiculous some reviews are. Someone gave this a negative review because the graphics aren't up to CoD standards, and that its only on the PC. Someone might just be trying to screw with the Undertale fanbase, but seriously!

Someone gave this a negative review because the graphics aren't up to CoD standards, and that its only on the PC. Someone might just be trying to screw with the Undertale fanbase, but seriously!

So here is my honest review of Undertale, with me not being freaking ridiculous.
Plot: 9/10. The plot is definitely one of Undertale's strong points. I'm not going to spoil it, but I do have to say that it makes you really care about the characters (even the ones you didn't know existed until 30 minutes ago), with a few teary moments.
Soundtrack: 100/10. No, I'm not kidding. The soundtrack to this game is freaking awesome. Music always fits the area you are in, and you'll find yourself listening to Spider Dance over and OVER AND OVER again. Oh, and Megalovania.
Gameplay: 9/10. The gameplay on the overworld is almost exactly the same as all RPG's you will have ever played, but its the battles that stand out. First of all, and most importantly, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO FIGHT. Yes, you can just talk it out with an enemy instead of fighting. That alone changes the plot drastically, but another thing stands out; its bullet hell-type gameplay. Instead of just generic turn-based strategy, you actually have a chance of surviving an encounter with an enemy without getting hurt, which I felt was a nice change of gameplay.
Graphics: 8/10. Not this game's strongest point, but definitely unique, with different pixelated styles seen throughout the game.

*It seems the review is at an end. You're filled with determination.

Great game, characters you can remember, fun, can complete in a few hours, if you like to play games similar to earthbound i'd recommend it! there's multiple endings, one where you create peace between the two races, monsters and humans, and another where you kill all the monsters. Undertale is a kind of game that is surprising in its depth. It's a simple retro RPG on the surface with graphics more at home a couple decades ago, but once it gets going, it becomes quite the experience. It's clever writing ranges from light-hearted fun to tearjerker material. It's lovable cast of characters can become like family. It's soundtrack is one of the best I've heard yet. I mean, you could argue something like Star Wars or Lord of the Rings is over hyped, but that doesn't stop them from being pretty damn good. I'm also royally pissed that they gave game of the year to freaking Rocket League instead of this game. That feels a bit like the Oscars snubbing Singing In The Rain.

Now, I'm not interested in convincing any of you that this game isn't overrated (its not) because if that's how you feel, I probably can't change your mind. But I am concerned that some of y'all have been told that there's a right way to play this game. That you have to get the good ending to have a fun time. That is a lie. Play the game however the hell you like, and you will have fun. It's impossible for you to get the worst ending without trying too. Making mistakes is part of the experience and part of the power in the story. And if your told that you have to get it right the first time, then yeah, you'll probably be a little bit annoyed at the game. And that's no way to go about your free time. When you play Undertale, just be your garbage self.

The Pacifist Route, which is gained by sparing everything, aside from a couple fights that must be fought, leads to the good ending.
Combat follows a sort of bullet-hell mechanic, which is different from traditional JRPG combat, where you can basically dodge everything.
The story is fairly simple, but I think it's pretty good.
The characters are all varied and likable, and they all have their own quirks and stuff.
The humor is good, though may come across as sort of childish.
The music is well-composed and catchy, some of the tracks are incredibly good and varied, also, most of them are le motifs of each other.
All in all, a solid game. If I had to make any complaints, a few fights are a bit annoying, and the visuals do come across as a bit poor.

For example, without Undertale, how would we now know that skeletons enjoy Italian cuisine, making bad puns, and referencing current Internet culture? This game still has so many secrets and lessons to discover: even the world's foremost expert on the topic, Dr. Matthew Patrick, is doing deep research on Undertale and making new discoveries every day. This Deep Research has led to incredible Culture-Shocking discoveries, such as the fact that one of the skeletons depicted in this work of art was in fact once a living person who as a kid would murder stray animals with a baseball bat. Undertale is a work of art so profound that even the Pope owns a copy despite not owning a computer, and plans to soon begin incorporating verses from the game in his sermons. As I am but a man, I cannot tell you what kind of path Undertale will lead our society along. -The Morality System: Your every action has consequenses. Unless you go into the game's files, the game could potentially remember you killing a single enemy and then reseting 100 times. The Game is not afraid to shatter the fourth wall, and when it does, it does so with glee.

-The Combat System: The game is a combination of traditional RPGs and Bullet-Hell shooters. You can dodge every attack if you are good enough. Also, with the ability to spare of kill any Monster you encounter, it challenges what we think of as good RPGs.

-The Story: While the story is basic at first, it is more about the characters you meet along the way. Flowey, the master of fourth wall breaking and a terrifying creature. Toriel, the motherly character who will do anything to protect you. Sans, a skeleton armed with bad puns and bad times. Papyrus, the brother of Sans who will do anything to join the Royal Guard and loves cooking spaghetti. Undyne, the leader of the Royal Guard with a hotheaded personality. Alphys, the Royal Scientist with a dark secret and a passion for Anime. Mettaton, the Killer Robot TV Host. Asgore, the king of all Monsters. Not to mention each Monster in a battle has a personality.

-The Endings: Neutral, Pacifist, and Genocide. The Three endings. I can't spoil to much, except that each ending accomplishes very different things. For Example, while Pacifist gives you a feeling of happiness, Genocide is physically and Mentally exhausting. In Genocide, you're gonna have a bad time.

-The Music: Oh My Days, the Music. Beatiful in every way.

Is this a good game? Yes. This surpassed all my expectations. 10/10.

It's not just 4th wall breaks, or the character cast, or the few bloopers in the game, or the easter eggs that seem to be very fun. It's also the way the game plays out too. Also, considering there's only one way to delete your save file(Not a "Reset"), it really adds to the gameplay. And personally, if someone criticizes that the game does not have violence, I think they need to have a second thought. This game even has the violence to satisfy a T+ gamer's needs. You guys should try the game itself, otherwise, you won't know what kind of game this is. The reason Toby Fox didn't want the game to be posted on youtube was not because of spoilers, but because people would think they got spoiled and miss an oppurtunity of pure golden gameplay in a 16-bit retro style pack. It has a well executed plot with admirable morals to learn from each character. Every monster in Undertale has a backstory and a personality, rather they are a minority or a main character, which you often don't see in other RPGs. The characters are so lovable and feel as if they were real, there's moments that will make you laugh out loud and cry, either with heartbreak or just sheer joy, depending on how you play. It's also one of the only RPGs I have ever seen where nobody has to die. Undertale challenges gaming conventions like this constantly and **** with your head in ways that I can't even say without spoiling the game. And on top of all of that, the soundtrack is phenomenal, easily the best one of the whole year.

Yes, I know the fanbase puts a lot of people off from the game, but honestly, I believe the fandom has nothing to do with the game at all. A very touching story which really depends on your decisions. Some gameplay mechanics make you brain works in a creative manner. Some battles will make your spinal cord work as well. Remarkable characters with a deep story which you have to find out by yourself. A lot of humour and references to mass culture would probably entertain Tumblr inhabitants. Music is also amazing. Undertale is absolutely unique. It's a RPG masterpiece full of weird characters and a moving message.

With multiple endings based on how you choose to play out your run, set pieces that can play out very differently based on your actions and so many incredible moments that we’d love to share but daren’t do so for risk of spoiling anything, Undertale is easily one of the indie standouts of last year.

Through a combination of often relaxed but sometimes tense gameplay, a dreamy atmosphere, and genuine characters that feel like they’re actually alive and all living together in this isolated society of longing, Undertale transcends its medium and becomes a genuinely moving experience I would recommend to anyone who is open to a sometimes sorrowful, sometimes hilarious, always bizarre and engaging emotional journey.
