When playing the game, it feels like being in a shop. the game constantly point toward buy this and buy that, even the damn tutorial has text that tries to sell you something. You can really feel this game was made around selling stuff rather than making a game with interesting gameplay, and a enjoyable story.

the story, and lore is as bad as the first one. the characters in the game(NPC) is as lifeless as usually, no interesting characters to interact with. even the baddies are not interesting at all. story lacks meaning and depth.

gameplay is the minimum case of a shooter, again as above, the game revolve around selling skins and meaning less cosmetic, than dont even work with the game. like having a stuffed animal on the bottom of your backpack, you even can see, not to say other players wont even see it and which you never interact with . pointless mtx.

but this is what to expect form Ubisoft.

I am gonna have to give this game a weak 3 because it's basically division 1 copy paste except they switched out an infectious disease with thugs. rest of the game's "progression" is the exact same.

I got the game at it's 3 euro sale, and i didn't expect change at all, and i was right. I guess it's a decent time killer, but way too repetitive.

The world feels empty and static, missions are the exact same thing over and over, go to the spot, shoot some guys, shoot the guy with the big health, done. Shooting over cover without popping out is too accurate, even basic enemies are bullet sponges, and too top it all of they've pilled on a bunch of pointless systems to make the game seem like it has a lot of depth. Pros:
    - Core gameplay and gunplay loop is very satisfiying

    - Huge map with tons of content
    - Beautiful, handcrafted environments that reward exploration
    - Some quality of life improvements (bigger stash/more crafting materials)

    Cons:
    - Atmosphere was way better in Division 1 (winter ftw)
    - Many annoying bugs remain
    - Timegated skins with high prices
    - Balance still a bit of a mess
    - Grind is real
    - PVP and Darkzones is a big fat meh
    - Not enough End-game content
    - "THE" most forgettable story and characters on my memory

So I can't complain too much, I got my value out of this game. It's still a solid 3rd-person looter-shooter and you can have a good time with PVE content. Community is still healthy and finding a group is not a problem. But recent decisions by developers are questionable at best.
Upcoming expansion "Warlords of New-York" looks promising and will bring a lot of improvements that should've been in the game from day 1. We'll see if it will be any good.

And, as always. Do NOT preorder. Do NOT buy loot boxes. Or you will get more and more unfinished games with egregious monetization.

TL;DR worth the price of £2.50, the developers were really lazy this time around and included around 50% less content compared to D1. Crap UI, tutorial, and AI. RNG is a bit too random. Downgraded, backwards graphics. Dark Zone = Skirmish.

I'll start off by saying I am very glad they lowered the price to £2.50 for a weekend as I think I would be sobbing over having to pay £50 or so at

I'll start off by saying I am very glad they lowered the price to £2.50 for a weekend as I think I would be sobbing over having to pay £50 or so at full price.

Yes it is bad, it is basically a poor reskin, the game would look good had they used a different engine to the first game. It looks washed out, the graphics on Ultra look worse than on High, getting rid of shadows will only grant you a 15 FPS boost, parallax doesn't make much of a difference, fog just looks like a smoke grenade went off. I could run the D1 at ultra and smooth 75 FPS and it looked beautiful.

Now I don't understand some people that leave good reviews about the following things: loot and progression. There was nothing wrong with the mechanics in D1, here the loot is everywhere and the RNG is ridiculous my friend have played for 31 hours and they have **** gear. I have played for 19 hours, I am lower level, and I have 3 signature weapons with purple gear and legendary mods. The progression? Well... 19 hours and I am level 19 already, and have completed around 50% of the game, that's including like 10 or so hours that I spent playing on other sessions with my friends not really progressing my own story. The map is tiny, and actually most of the time I prefer to walk than to fast travel because the loading screen will take longer. So its basically got even less content than D1.

Apparel is boring and from what I can tell there is around 1/5 of what D1 had, I am also not to eager to collect it as its all been boring stuff that you can't really see, I have the best hoodie and trousers to my knowledge thanks to RNG and they block stuff like dog tags and hats and scarfs. I thought damn I wont be able to wear jackets since its summer, I didn't think this however.

Missions are fun, but they feel like side missions. I remember still D1 missions, turning on power while at the same time discovering information about agents, and turning on lights at times square. The one mission I remember from this game, is when you can act on your fantasy of being Nicolas Cage and steal the deceleration of independence, its basically a meme, Not only do they feel like side missions they look like side missions, the icon is just slightly bigger with another tiny icon on the bottom.

The UI and menu is information overload. A bunch of sub folders for different items yet the weapon and gear menu stays the same? It's like they went and left it half finished. This game has less perks too, you can unlock all of them within an hour of gameplay if you really tried, Your weapon attachments? Craft one and it will be enough for all your guns. The AI is worse than in D1.

Ok so the CORE game is trash but what about the DZ? Well this depends on how you look at it. If you are a sociopath or a PvP player then sure this might be for you. The map is smaller and divided so you can't cross areas like in D1 you have to go back to CORE and re-enter DZ to switch area. It is so small you will see at least 1 player every minute, all land marks will likely be engaged and all extraction zones will likely be in use. So, no more running away and tricking players, no more spooky moments where you are all alone against a horde of enemies, now if you think you are in a tight spot, likely hood is someone will come by and make your experience super easy and boring, they will then turn rogue and kill you, now there is no PvE it is only PvP, you can't avoid other players anymore the small map means you have to fight, this makes it super unfair, I cannot secure my loot when it is just me vs a clan of 9 people and I can''t avoid them as the extraction zone is 1 minute walk from anywhere on the map.

Solid looter shooter, prefer this to Destiny (which itself is still a decent game). Only looter shooter I can think of better than this is Borderlands 2. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The division 2 is like four games rolled into one. First is the main story from level 1-30. This part is engaging enough to keep you involved and is a nice continuation of the division 1. The world is very believable and overwhelmingly detailed. If you play this game as a solo action game, you will have lots of fun. I played this part twice and think it is one of the best shooters out there. The second part is basically from the start of the black Tusk invasion until you reach item level 500. This is still entertaining, even if the story makes no sense at all and is obviously the result of having spent so much of the budget on the world that it had to be reused. So you cover mostly the same area with bigger enemies and bigger usually just means more armor and hp, not more challenging in their strategies. The third part begins when you hit item level 500 and start to optimize your gear. This part is based on the believe that randomness of drops is the key to keeping the players playing. I found that part very boring. The itemization has always been overly complex but because of the fast progression their was no need to care, now it becomes a pain. Players are basically set on a rotation and may hope to get in hundreds of drops one which is usable. You spent a silly amount of time in emptying your inventory and checking gear. So most players use groups to go through the necessary steps faster. But because the AI isn't really scaling and the game is only throwing more and harder mobs at you, the encounters become just mindless slaughter feasts. In my opinion this part is rather broken.
I have never played an MMO which was less social: Most people don't even bother to read their chat, maybe because the chat server is down quite often.
Ah, yes, the 4th game: pvp. Just not my cup of tea, so I tried it out, but not enough to have a solid opinion on it.
All this sounds more critical than it should: Especially the first part is awesome. Some of the fire fights are the best I ever had with npcs and the immersion works incredibly well. Because the world is packed so dense with items to discover and nps and events, you really have the feeling of a city under siege, even if obviously it gets repetitive after a while and the crowdedness can have strange side effects, for example spawning a new group of mobs in your back during a fire fight or informing you that there is a friendly control point nearby every time you left one.
Episode 2 is not changing a lot. The story gets some additions, but the writing is even less impressive. The new areas are great and quite challenging on the other hand. So challenging that coop becomes the standard way to do this.

They added so much unneeded padding to keep the campaign going, and if you don't do the side content, you will be at least 10 levels under the recommendations, not to mention you won't have the recipes for attachments. The spawns are absolutely stupid. I huddle up by some cover to assault a control point only to have every door in the surrounding quarter mile fly open with enemies flooding out around me. There just is no good cover as a solo player. The game isn't meant to be played solo? THEN WHY IS IT AN OPTION!?!? Don't give me a solo choice if it is unreasonable to play it that way.

TL;DR, I personally prefer the first game to this padded out, grindy garbage.

As a game Division 2 is good, you want to come back to it every day. But technical execution is just a nightmare and it spoils everything. I decided to play on the weekend but after the update, it freezes and it is impossible to play, although before that I played at the minimum perfectly without lags.

Having to shoot enemies for so much to kill them breaks the immersion making this game a chore to play. Also choosing a "body type" when You are actually are choosing gender is weird but does not matter too much. The world is lifeless like most other Ubisoft games. Meh

The Division 2 is proof that a good game is not made of graphics or good movement! despite having these two qualities and even more ... the game is broken in many ways, but I will cite just my reason which is the main mechanic of the game: The Loot!
1- What is expected of a Looter Shooter game, whether it is the progression of loot quality as your level progresses, but that's not what you have (in parts), the amount of Trash ... I mean, Loot is high, but even at tier 5 and Heroic difficulty, the purple item rate is still HUGE, making it harder to play on a higher difficulty! The game doesn't reward you for playing on a higher difficulty, it only increases the damage, amount and armor of the enemies, ONLY!
2 - As already mentioned the quality of rarity of the loot, let's talk about handling your equipment, talking about armor: where you have the Brands, Attributes and Talents, where armor can have a range of attributes (Life, Armor, Rate Critical Damage, Critical Damage, etc.) and can add up to 4 Attributes and 3 Talents (if I'm not mistaken) then we have there (suppose) 7 parts inside a piece of equipment, where you can only choose ONE to trade, ONLY ONE, doing so that its progression in making any build is practically IMPOSSIBLE, when I decided to make a build focused on certain attributes, it took me almost 4 hours to try to get a piece of equipment, and yet, I couldn't, not even close to what I wanted, because In addition to you only being able to change only 1, the attributes that come in the equipment are random completion, Ex: (on the same equipment: Life, Skill Acceleration, Weapon Damage and Hazard protection) (this example at best, bas amount of attributes) and there are categories in these attributes: Offence (red circle), Defense (blue shield), Utility (yellow battery)
then set up the scenario based on the above equipment (not counting the talents):
    Defense: Life, Hazard protection
    Offence: Gun Damage
    Utility: Skill Acceleration
Now you can only exchange ONE, and this exchange can only be done by one of the same group: Utility by Utility, Defense by Defense, Offense By Offence, not counting talents, which you cannot change if you change attributes!
Now for a Fact, my reality, I have 389 hours of play, and I was able to do just a single build and yet it is not 100% the way I want it, Based on Skill Acceleration and Explosives, I got 6 parts of my gear, each giving me 20% explosive damage totaling 120% explosive damage plus my grenade launcher class which increases further, they report that all talents will change, making it a unique talent where I once had 120% For all 6 parts, now I have only 40% in one, not accumulating the other pieces ... after this news I decide to abandon the game, 389 game in the trash! Remembering that I'm just saying about the game system ... and I didn't mention the Hundreds of bugs in the game ...

I expected a lot from The Division 2 and the game delivers.

+ Awesome gunplay. Shooting, movement and skills are snappy and fluid. + Better enemy AI than TD1, more interesting fights, less bullet-sponginess. + The game is more challenging. You can die easily when you don't take care and it's great. Cover and positioning are very important. + Extremely varied and interesting mission

+ Extremely varied and interesting mission locations.
    + A metric **** ton of content.
    + Good loot and progression.
+ Very good graphics for the most part.
+ Great audio (gun sounds, music).
+ The story is a bit better than in TD1, but you still shouldn't expect too much. A lot of the immersion comes from interaction with the world rather than the story.

    - The item system is crap. It takes way too much time to sort items, especially mods. Skill mods are completely useless as items and could have been implemented in a dozen better ways.
    - Some of the UI needs work.
    - There's little incentive to free roam coop, because you only get XP for stuff you haven't done already.
    - Protagonist still can't talk. Hurts the immersion quite a bit.
    - Character creator could be improved: More hair and beard options. Sort colors properly. And don't use the term "body type" instead of "gender".
    - Frequent crashes with DirectX 12 renderer on some CPUs.

Verdict: I got exactly what I wanted - more of the same as TD1 with improvements in the right places.

I'm about 25 hours in and I guess it was worth the money. Ubisoft again excels in creating a beautiful open world, and although the gameplay in this is fun it can get very repetitive, especially considering that the game lacks any meaningful story. Killing the same enemy types over and over. I imagine it would be better with friends.

And there are lots of boxes to check off during a 5 assignment quest to unlock the gunner class. I jumped in when I saw the was out then saw the first assignment task(1 of 4), and logged back out. Guess I'm done with this game and with Ubisoft games period. Every time they promise not to screw customers they find some new way of screwing people again. Far as I'm concerned the first year of content is Pay 2 Win. Ubisoft is trying to win the race to the bottom against EA and Bethesda. Not sure who is sinking faster.

There's far too much garbage in the world, and I know it's trying to help sell this version of DC, but honestly I get sick of running around a giant garbage dump. Fog, rain, weather is amazing in this game, as is shooting. Until the last update looting was decent too but since the update I haven't seen a single common or green drop, it's all blue, purple, yellow. These are supposed to be rare and rarer but now it's all just common trash loot for the most part. Completely taken the joy of getting a rare item out of the game, which I think is really an integral part of the loot shooter genre.

As for gameplay, until like level 23 the game is far too easy. What i loved about Div 1 is that it was hard but man when you finished a mission you felt amazing. I just ran through missions in this game. I barely ever died, and I'm not that good. Also, i hate that I'll do a rescue mission and like an hour later i can do it again?

Skills - i see no point at all in it. I get my drone for healing and my turret, and I don't honestly give a crap about the rest. Perks same thing, by level 15 i hate maxed them all, only ones left were those locked to level 30. So i have all these points from caches and nothing to spend them on. There's no joy here either.

Crafting/weapon mod system is better in this game. I wish they'd applied these improvements to gear mods as well.

Projects are cool. Love the settlements idea.

Overall only a 6 out of 10. Even though shooting weapons feels amazing, the world is gross and the game lacks the challenge I loved in the first one. I think the perks and skill system are bad. I think looting is broken. Shooting range challenges are a weird addition that make no sense, but then again neither does the whole premise of this game, really.

Let's start with the performance. Looks like crap and runs like it too. It is also riddled with hackers in the pvp side of things. Can't walk more than 2 feet without getting one tapped and then watching the guy speed off like sonic to go to the other side of the DZ. Like running the same missions over and over? then this is the game for you. There really is only about 20 hours of content then it is just the same stuff repeated over and over but to a different tune. I have logged over 100 hours so far and this game is not worth the price of admission currently. Too many bugs/glitches and cheaters keep this from being a solid experience as well. Expand

Its has a lot of promise but it is plagued with serious bugs which have been introduced with recent patches. Lag / freezing / DC's / crafting issues / absent ammo drops...
    Barely playable atm.

Not gonna bore you with the details but garbage game that you should avoid until 6 months from now when the game will be patched to a "working version" that it should have been at launch.

For those developers who developed pvp mode, a separate boiler in hell was prepared. No balance, no logic. You start to play solo and the clan plays against you. You take down two cells to the enemy, while he is killing you from the cage floor. maps in pvp are boring, we play backward.
Take the same Destiny2, which turned out quite controversial. So there I liked only pvp mode. How can you, based on the experience of competitors, make everything so bad?
And their lags are generally something. My brother and I have very good new computers, but eternal friezes and crashes after so many patches ...
In general, I do not recommend this game to anyone!

Shooting system is really good but otherwise there is nothing there. Linear- coridor-no brain mob grinding. There isnt even open world multiplayer. Pvp sucks. Ubi why! Lets take this all assets, shooting and progression system, put it into open multiplayer world add some survival mechanics and it will be good game.

    Division 1: 400 hours
    Division 2 (When I made this review): 79 hrs @ GS509

I wanted to give a fair review since most 10's in here criticize important game features but somehow it doesn't retract from a perfect score? Most 0's reviews don't give credit where credit is due.

    Pros:
Great Atmosphere, graphics, quantity of guns and gear. Plenty of loot to choose from that can be customized to excessively with mods and combinations. Plenty of world activities, especially for the first play through at tier 1. You will not be disappointed completing the base game activities. And if that is all you're interested in for 60 bucks, you will not be disappointed.

    Cons:
Pretty much everything else unfortunately (meaning the endgame). And before you jump to any conclusions I'm just hating on the game, I have a collective 479 hours total for the series, and to my knowledge im not a masochist.

    End game content is BROKEN.

Gear: As of this review, the class sets (greens) are useless and inferior to anything yellow high end gear can provided. The perks they give have marginal effects on enemies and marginal beneficial effects on players. The only way to actually be relevant is to max out DPS, and focus fully on damage, and damage alone. Defense and tech capabilities just don't do any damage. This means no customizing play styles to match different enemy types or gaming preferences. Its all about point and shoot x100000. Which isn't helped by the fact that enemies are tanky bullet sponges. You and your buddies will literally follow bosses around dumping 10 mags each into his/her's face while the boss casually runs/walks around as if they're being pelted with spitballs. This pretty much sums up all smaller enemies with health bar slight bordering on 3 mags/kill (2 mags for headshots).

With regards to weapons, the best firearms are consistently assault rifles and LMGs. Everything else, is useless save for the exception when you need a sniper to pick off a distant enemy (Which is far and few between). This becomes a frustrating and simply boring process of mindlessly shooting bullet sponges. At least in Div 1 you could try different playstyles (support/medic/assault) in order to focus on various roles. Without that, and dealing with bullet sponges, it just becomes a repetitive grindy game with no excitement in playing against AI's with the intellectual capacity of 2 brain cells (They will literally runs in circles or hop over the same piece of cover 10 times before choosing a spot)

Additionally, the lack of polish exacerbates the aformentioned flaws. There are glitches EVERYWHERE. They happen consistently enough that you'll be dealing with them every game you play. This becomes extremely annoying when fighting on challenging or heroic, where small glitches can literally cost you the mission, forcing you start lengthy segments all over again. Glitches include:

    1. Can't revive allies
    2. Getting stuck and unable to move
    3. Equipment not deploying
    4. Failure of the UI to respond to commands such as changing cover, rolling, basic movement, deploying gear.
    5. Enemies literally popping in and out of existence. One second you be alone, the next you're surround by 4 yellow health bar enemies.
    6. Unstable server connection causing: enemy rubberbanding, delayed response, general lag
    7. Enemy health bars won't respond to damage dealt, or there is some odd delay before the game registers an enemy is out of health before "killing" that enemy
    8. Game doesn't balance out factions with lower level friends. One second we'll be playing through a mission taking appropriate damage and dealing appropriate damage, the next people are getting one shotted from no where.
    9. Enemies shoot through cover. This one is extremely annoying and frequent. I have lost track of times where enemies are firing through cement, cars, roadblocks, etc while the enemy is literally pointing their weapon through the ground or the enemy is in a regular cover animation.

Generally speaking the game suffers from lack of balancing for gear (most gear and weapons are useless and there's not point in striving to obtain gearsets yet) as well as what seems to be complete lack of polish in the sever connection integrity and polish in gameplay represented by numerous/frequent glitches. 6.0-6.5 Average user rating is good representation for this games current state. I would highly suggest waiting a couple months for appropriate balancing to be implemented and cleaning up of the numerous glitches before spending hard earned money.

I really enjoyed The Division, and the The Division 2 is even better! There is a ton of great an engaging content to keep you completely engaged for a long time. I am now 50 hours into the game and can hardly put it down. There is always something new to do! Massive has done a fabulous job with this game, and I hope it gets the praise it deserves.

If you like these kind of looter shooters then this is a great game. If you did not really like the first one then this one is not really substantially different, more of a tweaking. Personally I have
really enjoyed this so far with some really great and tense battles.

Coming back to post a follow up review after playing the game for several weeks now. I originally gave the game a 9 but now that I have reached level 16 I am giving this game a solid 0. I originally gave the game a 9 but now that I have reached level 16 I am giving this game a solid 0. This game is unplayable as a solo player as the enemies become fairly spongy around level 14 and your player feels as though they become weaker as you progress instead of feeling more robust and fortified. Even with non stop upgrades and several epic items on my character I feel weaker now at 16 than I was at level 1. Division 2 is the first game I've played where the longer I've played the weaker my character feels.

Another big problem with the game is that even on story mode the enemy AI is set to full aggression mode all the time which pretty much ruins the good cover, parkour mechanics of the game because what's the point of taking cover only to have 2 of the 5 enemies rush you while your taking cover at the same time from different angles and two shot you with a melee weapon or blow themselves up on top of you killing you instantly. Also, the mob density for solo players is extremely punishing. I'll set myself up to grenade 2 or 3 of the 5 enemy mob, take them out only to have an "enemy reinforcement incoming" announcement chime in on every single encounter where I have to fight another 5 enemy characters and pray to god they don't spawn in on top of me or behind me which is all too common in this game which will instant wipe you.

Really disappointed with this game. I like playing solo and don't want to be forced to group with others and the game simply does not give you any choice but to group. If you go to forums you'll see a few players on there acting as if they are badasses telling everyone to "get gud" and "use the turret." It doesn't matter how "gud" you are, solo mode will punish you mightily again and again. Being forced to rely on a perk every single fight (turret) that pretty much does all the work for you and requires no skill feels like more of a cheat than a viable strategic maneuver. In Division 1 I felt as though I could handle almost all enemies at any given point with or without a perk but with the Division 2 even running into a simple mob on the street I'm not winning 9 times out of 10. At higher levels the enemies get better gear and start shocking, freezing and popping other perks on you that just doesn't make for fair gameplay. When a common enemy feels like a boss you know you've made your game too difficult. I understand there are players out there that enjoy high difficulty, multi wipe till you get it right, getting smashed in the face several times before progressing type of games and for those people I would say choose normal or difficult mode. I'm playing story mode and getting wrecked playing solo. Story mode is supposed to be just that, a mode for players who just want to progress through the story and not get raped over and over again by common enemy mobs and be forced to group up with other players just to get around.

Big game, many fun encounters, the world feels alive, factions can fight each other.
It has launched 6 days ago, for me as an early access player, the devs have done three updates already .
It's a game worth sinking time into.

The style and the setting may not be for everyone and that should be noted as many of the other reviews may tell you. This as a TACTICAL and COVER shooter, and you should enter it only as such. If that is not your cup of tea you are not goin to enjoy the game. This is what I consider a difficult game as well, so keep that in mind.

Now from there on I can say this is what the division 1 should have been, a good looter shooter finally at launch, the endgame will need some tweaks but I can honestly say I enjoy it and the systems in place are very rewarding. If like cover shootes and looters, this is definitely a MUST.

Progression felt a little too fast with me getting to 450 gear score quite easily. Progression needs to be fleshed out a little more with a more grindy end game progression you would feel more accomplished when you actually made it to World Tier 4. I'm quite eager to find out what the other specializations will be and what the raids will be like. Should give this game the content it really needs at this point. World Tier 5 will be out April 5 and so this game will get some much need content update.

    +Story and Progression
+Missions are Challenging with Harder Missions on the way
-Dark Zones are boring needs larger populations instead of 12 people max
-Current content is getting repetitive (Patch is April 5 and DLC Coming this Summer)

in conclusion this game is very much like a Diablo styled Third Person Shooter. With future content and if devs decide to come out with an expansion to this game I will definately play this for years. mJust keep the content coming.

With the experience accumulated on The Division 1, Massive manages with TD2 to excite our curiosity. Stronger, more generous, better built, the title succeeds where other games as service before it has struggled to. Thanks to its end-game, which renew the experience by adding content and skillfully recycles the existing one, but also thanks to this map of Washington, absolutely fantastic, which allows more than ever to immerse yourself in the universe of the agents of the Division.
