    Witcher 3 is the best RPG I ever played with Zelda : The Wind Waker. The atmosphere of the game is mindblowing, thanks to its incredibly beautiful soundtracks and graphics. Even though the game can be, strictly in terms of gameplay, slightly repetitive, it didn't bother me as I was totally sucked into the stories of this amazing, fantastic world.

    Had I been able to, I would have given the game 9.8, since some of the controls are very "wonky" and shaky, but the rest of the game is perfect!
    Everything in this game i soooo damn goood. Characters are intriguing, the story line is compelling, the fighting is good and varied and the world feels alive.
    Finally, it's nice to see that a game of this size is so well optimized from the    Had I been able to, I would have given the game 9.8, since some of the controls are very "wonky" and shaky, but the rest of the game is perfect!

    This game. IS AMAZING. From its combat, to it's graphics, to it's story, all of its amazing. I know that the graphics have been dumbed down from the trailers, but there still gorgeous, and the art styles good too. It found a good mix between realistic and cartoony creature designs. It's combats also amazing, I didn't really like the witcher 2 a ton, but this is amazing, its fun, not tooThis game. IS AMAZING. From its combat, to it's graphics, to it's story, all of its amazing.     With this said, there are a few glitches and pop ins, and i've heard that many amd users have problems, although my computers full amd and i've not had a single issue, other than the hair physics, which, do take quite a lot of frames.

    I've found the game to be the greatest in years, and i've not run into the glitches, for me its a 10/10.

    An incredible end to The Witcher trilogy. CD Projekt Red gives The Witcher 3 modern mechanics and improves on what they learned from The Witcher 1-2. Very, very strong story with inspiring character building and world.

    Finally a long and engaging RPG that isn't full of boring filler missions like Dragon Age Inquisition or lacks an interesting main campaign and consequences like Skyrim. I've not finished Witcher yet but im currently about 85 hours in and still have so many missions to do and new places to explore.     This game is unreal. If you vote this game down because of graphics, you're a tool. The graphics are not only phenomenal, there's literally NOTHING better out there on such a huge scale.     This is simply an amazing game. Don't know if it has been "downgraded" or not, but the way it is it's simply gorgeous, deep, large, with amazing characters, great plot and tons of things to discover. Don't let haters and trolls convince you to pass on this one: it's one of the best RPG of the decade.

    Only about 30 hours into the game. I can see why so many people call this the best game they have ever played. So much effort has gone into making this. It's immediately apparent that the developer is treating the story and its audience with a great deal of respect.

    10/10 would buy and bang again. The game is the crowning jewel of the genre. No other open world crpg comes anywhere near the level that CDPR have achieved here. The game play, the graphics, the story, the voice acting everything is spot on perfect. GOTY for sure!

    The    Fantastic RPG that delivers on the hype. First off, completely disregard the negative reviews complaining about a graphical downgrade. The video in question is 2 years old and CDPR have been completely honest about why the change was needed. Despite this the game still looks amazing. Fantastic detail in the world and the characters that inhabit it makes the game totally immersive.

    The combat can at first feel clunky, but it's simply a learning curve. Once you adjust to the control scheme you will be flowing through the battles like a leaf on the wind, moving effortlessly through waves of monsters and humans alike, every motion feeling accurate and satisfying. The mixture of melee combat and the use of signs (your spells) is really satisfying, and once you invest skill points into the attributes you want, choose your appropriate bombs and potions and develop your own style of playing, each battle will feel more and more rewarding.

    Of course the more you fight the same monsters you also develop specific tactics against them, you learn their attack patterns and can predict their movements to a degree, making you a better monster hunter as time goes on. Having a well detailed bestiary to consult is also very useful, reading the entries carefully will give you a huge advantage compared to going in blind. It makes you want to go out and find every book about monsters you can, to make sure you are prepared when encountering something you haven't fought before.

    A big concern was the lack of scaled levelling on monsters and human enemies, but don't concern yourself with that. The game is designed in such a way that even enemies with a few levels beneath you can still be tough if you make a mistake, and enemies above you can still be taken out if you prepare well for a fight and utilize your weapons, signs and other gear well. That being said don't expect to be taking out some of the higher level monsters you may encounter, a lot of them are strong mythical beasts that will one shot you even if you are fully prepared for the fight. But all this means is that you have something to strive for.

    Which brings me to my next point. The game is extremely story driven. There is so much dialogue, most of which is very important. Optional dialogue choices can provide you with so much information, be it a main quest or side quest and the voice acting is so well done you won't mind sitting there listening to the various characters chatting away about this or that.

    The questing is set up into a few categories, Main quests which follow the story of the protagonist Geralt and his friends. Side quests which can range from helping a random traveller at the roadside to partaking in events that will in some way affect the main campaign. Witcher contracts that are notices placed up for you to identify and hunt a specific monster whilst also being able to negotiate your fee. Treasure hunts that are exactly what they sound like, hunts for treasure, and the many undiscovered locations throughout the world that can range from clearing a bandit camp and destroying a monster net, to finding places of power that will grant you skill points and buff you for a time.

    All of this culminates in a game that will keep you busy for hours and there is so much to do at your level that the lack of scaled enemies won't even trouble you at all. There is real challenge as soon as you enter the world and you are completely free to explore and run around and discover.complete things however you wish.

    Overall the game is rich, beautiful and exciting. If you are looking for a fast paced hack and slash fest you can rush to completion then this is not for you. Witcher 3 is meant to be enjoyed, and while you can play at whatever pace you wish, it would be a shame and totally irresponsible to skip through dialogue and rush through content, despite how exciting it is to reach the next big monster hunt.

    If you had any doubts about buying this game because you are new to the series don't worry, everything that precedes the game is explained in decent detail, even allowing you to take part in an interactive cutscene that will allow you to make decisions from Witcher 2 that will directly affect your world. I am only 25 hours in and have hardly scratched the surface but I can safely say this is a GOTY contender.    … Expand

    After 41 hours of play, one of the sidequests remains one of the most memorable and amazing questlines in any RPG I have played. (Bloody Baron questline)

    As for the good? Literally everything else. Graphically it's fantastic and holds up four and a half years on, runs good too. The voice acting is top notch. The story writing is without a doubt some of the finest in a video game in recent memory, with several plots (The Bloody Baron, Hearts of Stone, etc) standing out as some of the best video game writing I've experienced in many years. The game comes packed to the gills with an incredible wealth of content, it would take a good 120 - 130 hours at my estimation to have done everything (counting the games expansion packs of course). No microtransactions, no loot boxes, no tacked on multiplayer, no always online, absolutely no **** - just 2 expansion packs which are arguably worth vastly more than their ticket price, especially Blood and Wine which expands upon and adds so much you might as well be playing The Witcher 4.

    Now, the game can take a while to get moving. It's a slow burn that can start off feeling tedious at first, but keep with it and it will reward your time immensely. Oh, and do get the Game of the Year version or the expansion passes - they're worth every cent and maybe even more. Hearts of Stone introduces new content and mechanics in the Velen region as well as a 10 hour story which is one the best in the game. Blood and Wine is more like 30 hours, give you a large new area which also happens to be arguably the best and prettiest area in the game, expands upon the gameplay and mechanics considerably and has a great plot to boot.

    My final rating would be 9.5, but we'll round it up to 10 for the sake of Metacritic. A genre defining must play of the highest order. Emphatically recommended.    … Expand

    Downgraded graphics? The game still looks amazing and is best looking open world game at the moment. The graphics are top notch.

In Witcher 3, you play as Geralt, a monster hunter who goes across the lands often times falling into situation where he must make difficult choices . It features a perfectly molded, mature, and exciting story. Side-quests feature their own well-written stories. The combat is fluid and sexy. I suggest playing on the highest difficulty, it makes you use all your arsenal, almost making you think like a Witcher. I've never had more fun playing a game.     The witcher 3 is a solid next gen RPG. The combat is intuitive and fun. the open world is highly detailed and interesting. so far any bug ive encountered are extremely minor compared to most game releases. this is a must BUY game!

    This game ticks all my boxes. It's big. So we can waste a lot of time in it. It's deep. There is a world to explore here, very well made and worth exploring. It's interesting. The stories and characters are rich and diverse. There may be some small issues with controls and combat, but these are not so serious in the scheme of things. Highly recommended. You play as Geralt of Rivia who's motive is to find his "daughter" Ciri, who is being pursued by the Wild Hunt, however it plays little role in your experience, most of the timeThis game, like the others in the series, is a masterpiece and only the guys at CD Projekt Red know how to pull it off, never have I played a game where the dialogue, story, atmosphere was this well delivered. You play as Geralt of Rivia who's motive is to find his "daughter" Ciri, who is being pursued by the Wild Hunt, however it plays little role in your experience, most of the time spent will be doing side quests, which all have their own story and are enthralling to play, most notably the quest in the Fyke Isles.

    The game is well optimised on PC, I'm using a GTX 970 and play the game on Ultra (with distance detail down a notch) and never goes below 45FPS, usually maintaining 55ish at 1080p. The sound is also superb with some of the soundtrack sending shivers down my spine, it's that good. The voice acting is also top notch and believable, better than most films I've seen actually.

    The only reason this game gets a 9 rather than a 10 is the combat and controls are not great, but this was the case with the other games as well. In my opinion you play a Witcher game for its story and game world but it would of been nice to see a well executed combat system.    … Expand

    So I played about 25 hours, level 12. And I'll tell you that, so I've never play RPG like this. Neither the first Witcher, neither BG etc. And the system of quests and decisions. You never know what to give and how it forms. They must then pay back the stored position as accomplished something that did not. The worst thing is that I made the other three, who already influenced the world around me. And in the beginning it seemed like little things that do not affect the storyline.The little thing in this game are wonderfull. Even the crap that Geralt grow facial hair. I was personally pleased with the combat system, because it simply makes everyone by himself. A battle on horseback or riding and with sword try kill monster or humans, it's also a treat. For graphic i have one word. Beautiful. And of course it is a great compliment translation and for me personally polish voiceovers, which underline the atmosphere of the game.

    A few tips:

    1. Without alchemy you do nothing. Whether oils, potions and eventually firecrackers. Each potion should have a higher version. But you have to find the recipe. They refer to the treasures in remote strongholds, for tasks etc. The biggest advantage is that once you produce, you no longer have to look over materials. Potions are complemented by meditation (and thus replenishing oils, crackers) and alcohol consumption, therefore keep them at least 10 bottles of the best dwarf plum brandy. It is the difference between alcohol / drinking, which is not and which is alchemical

    2. Select the style. I do not recommend brawling experience points to all the groups at once, you'll have to way to fall in darkness. I need to concentrate on fast combat with a sword + red mutagen (improves my phase 2 mutagen 20% attack power) and Ignite + blue sign mutagen (phase 2 mutagen + 10% power for example). Everyone chooses something there. Potions, to fight, to sign.
    3. Fill even the smallest tasks seem trivial. Often it has a crazy effect on the surroundings and totally you modify an event. And he just did what out of this quest turns out, it's worth it.    … Expand

This is a deep, complex, intelligent and mature RPG for a mature audience. The story goes to great lengths to avoid clichés, and even pokes fun at them at times. For someone like myself, who has more than 15 years of RPG experience, it is a real treat to be able to take part in this world.

    I don't give out perfect 10/10 easily but here is a game that truly deserves it, CD Projekt RED has gone above and beyond to realize their vision. There are few niggles here and there, small things that could be improved perhaps. But knowing CD Projekt RED they will continue to polish this masterpiece a few more times before they finally call it done.

    If you like RPG's buying the Witcher 3 is a no brainer, it is a game you simply have to play. And when you do be sure to savour it and take your time. This is one of the finest RPG's of our generation    … Expand

    I played the previous Witcher games and also enjoyed them very much. Witcher 3 still set a new bar for story driven RPGs. Visually appealing, interesting combat, complex storyline. Truly engrossing.

    First of all the story telling in this game is one of the best I have ever experienced. The main story is very good paced. The Baron quest line is one of the best in RPG games ever. The story is so full of emotions, tough decisions and twists. Every quest has a story and a background and always two or sometimes even more ways to end it.
    The World of the Witcher is vast and rich with encounters, NPC and more. You got big cities, small villages, forts and ruins to explore. Caves and mountain tops to discover. Yes it has zones it's not one big open world game but one thing in it what is amazing. No loading screens. Enter a cave? A house? A City? A castle? No loading screen! This is how you should do it.
    Combat is very fluid and you can do it how you want it. Sword fighting, signs (aka magic), potions, traps and bombs. Fast and sneaky or slow and tanky? You can play it how you want it.
    There is a lot more equipment and upgrades then in previous games. Swords, axes, crossbows and a lot of different armor parts to chose from. You have different armor sets that are tied in to quests and give you some back story to different Witcher schools.
    Graphic wise Witcher 3 is the best looking game in 2015 period. Yes on PC it requires a powerful machine but on console you still get a medium to high experience. The game just looks beautiful. The character models, the landscape and weather effects. Lightning effects and shadows are amazing. And every zone has its own look and feel to it.
    All and all a great game and one of the best RPG in gaming history. The best game of this year by a mile.

    I'm going all out now, I can almost promise this game is getting game of the year. This game is graphically outstanding and cannot be beaten in any way shape or form when it comes to art style and setting. The story is new and explores territories never visited in a Witcher Game. Performance is solid, I rarely dropped in frames playing on Ultra 1080p on my GTX 970 paired with an FX 8350 @I'm going all out now, I can almost promise this game is getting game of the year. This game is graphically outstanding and cannot be beaten in any way shape or form when it comes to art style and setting. The story is new and explores territories never visited in a Witcher Game. Performance is solid, I rarely dropped in frames playing on Ultra 1080p on my GTX 970 paired with an FX 8350 @ 4.6Ghz. The only issues I had was with hair works on it drops to around 50ish frames and during the prologue there multiple inventory crashes but as soon as I was past then I ran into basically no issues.
    This game is a killer, I've haven't praised a game in this way since Skyrim.

    The Witcher 3 is a stunning game. The world is beautiful and rich, the story is gripping, the gameplay is very solid, but what really make it shine are the dialogs and the writing. You can't help but feel immediately immersed in them, making for a truly captivating experience. Before playing it I thought the game was perhaps a little overrated but hell no it's simply a masterpiece and a must play.

    The game looks very good. I avoided watching any of the trailers or pre-release footage, so I am not sure about the graphics downgrade, but on ultra it is easily one of the best looking games on PC to date. The optimization/frame rate is also very good. With a single GTX 970, I am running on ultra (except for foliage distance, which is on high since it has significant FPS impact) at 1080p and the frame rate almost never dips below 60 FPS.

    Audio:
    AMAZING voice acting, music, and sound effects. A lot of multiplatform games these days are 50 or 60 GB (Titanfall, CoD, etc.), where 90 percent of it is uncompressed audio meant to fill up the disks on the console versions. This game is 26 GB, yet has some of the best sound I've heard in a game.    … Expand

    Game is quite literally the best RPG to be released ever. It crushes classics like the Balder gate series, torment, you name it this game is a blessing with so little available at the moment for gaming. The side quests aren't repetitive fetch quests like Dragon Age seemed to value over actual story. This is a must buy even if your not much of a fantasy guru.

    The game gets a 10 for how much enjoyment I got out of it.

    The world is open and vast and cd projekt red, filled it with interesting characters, backstories and combat that actually made me want to delve deeper into the world. This to me is a huge plus as most open world sandboxes create massive worlds and fill it with generic content (Dragon Age Inquisition being the prime offender here).

    The combat is realistic, you can dodge, roll and parry. The graphics are technically top notch. Beautiful painted world. Seamless loading times. Superb enemies. Fantastic gripping story. A flawless game, buy it. This game is truly a masterpiece. In terms of roleplaying. It is up there with timeless classics like Baldur's gate 2, Fallout 1 and 2, Planescape torment.

I had never played any of the Witcher games before it, but I was still able to hop into this vivid world and almost completely understand all the central conflicts of its story.     The decisions are by far my favorite part about the game. In addition to the normal dialog choices you make, there are also decisions of critical importance which have a time limit on your decision, my favorite of which is whether or not to throw a baby in an oven during a side quest. The choices you make generally are not as grandiose as they are in the Mass Effect series, but are in many ways more interesting as they do not follow a good and evil binary. Often your choice is between two options which are not all good and not all bad. The effects of your choices is also sometimes not seen until much later in the game, which ends up being pretty neat.

    Romance in this game is pretty great, although I still think the first and third Dragon Age games have my favorite romance options. Your main decision is between two Sorceresses, Triss and Yennifer. You have tremendous backstory with both women, which is given to you as you go along and, I assume, if you have played previous games. Now, originally, I thought I would hate that as the blank slate character I normally get in Bioware games allows me to just pick my favorite character in the game and romance them, but this decision is a lot more complex and allows the player to come up with their own point of view for whom Geralt is and what he would do in these situations. Geralt, as a result, is way more three dimensional than Shephard, the Inquisitor, the Grey Warden, hell, even Revan. There are plenty of other romance offerings as well and more nudity than I think I’ve seen in a game of its caliber.

    The combat is also incredibly complex, but only if you choose for it to be. I started the game on easy and had no problem with anything, but decided later on I wanted some complexity and cranked it up so that I had to learn the interactions and exactly what I was doing. While the combat certainly isn’t the centerpiece for the game, I always found it fun and more exciting than in some Western RPGs. The idea of toxicity and every potion being helpful and harmful at the same time is extremely interesting and on my next playthrough of the game when the next expansion comes out will certainly be potion-based.

    If you have played Final Fantasy VIII, you have played the best mini game in any video game I have ever played. Triple Triad still might be a bit better, but Gwent gives it a run for its money. Its simplicity makes it easy to learn but it becomes more and more complex over the course of the game. If I had one gripe though it’s that you become totally OP in Gwent as the game goes on. Once you’ve gotten the Geralt of Rivia card, you’re basically unbeatable. Supposedly the Blood and Wine expansion might add more complexity to the game, which I am quite excited about.
    The game is not without glitches. One treasure hunt I did left me stranded in a remote castle and the way I got through it was to run into an invisible wall and fall until I was off the edge of the world and then it let me fast travel wherever I wanted. Roach (Geralt’s horse) also has some significant glitches in what he can cross and in his animations for a lot of actions. While technically not a glitch, Geralt gets shipwrecked in an area that takes several days to reach by sea and as soon as you can control him again in this new area, you can summon Roach to you, even though there’s nothing to suggest Roach was even on that boat. It was a bit tacky, but I still preferred having Roach there rather than not, so I think it’s 100% forgivable.

    TL;DR - While there were certain flaws to the game, this game is actually so incredible that I cannot fault it for them. It made me question the blank slate character BioWare always gives you and finally presents a true competitor to their Western RPGs. Gwent rules and so does Geralt.    … Expand

The graphics are gorgeous, the combat system is great and demanding, the story, all the main and side quests are just incredible, there is really NOTHING wrong with The Witcher 3. Wild Hunt is a perfect mix of The Witcher and The Witcher 2 and it fully deserves the GOTY award for 2015.

    + Voice acting. They did a great job. Everything is voiced, even the smallest quests.
    + Gwent mini game is amazing. They could turn this into a standalone game.
    + Characters are interesting and have very detailed stories.
    + The user interface is pretty good, with a few exceptions. See below.
    + No quicktime events.
    + The game has no DRM, as it should be.
    + There are many patches to improve game mechanics and fix bugs. The game was great at release, but CDPR spent a lot of time making it even better. Most gaming companies wouldn't do this.

    - Poor performance. I play most other games on high/ultra settings, but The Witcher 3 often has low FPS even on medium/low settings, especially in Novigrad.
    - Graphics were downgraded a bit, probably because of the bad performance. The game still looks great though.
    - Movement is still a bit clunky at times with mouse/keyboard, even after the patches.

    The Witcher 3 is an outstanding game, one of the best, and well deserving of all the praise it gets.    … Expand

The rest is as close to perfect as we as a civilization have gotten to making a perfect game so far.     Everything has been said about this game already. This is by far one of the most accomplished RPG I can remember. From the grafix, sounds, music, characters, fights etc, everything is amazing.

    The worst part of this game is actually finishing it. It will cause post-game depression looking for something else to play that feels as good.

The women in the story are strong, beautiful and actually look like women unlike (insert game here). The soundtrack perfectly fits the atmosphere. I think I have played The Witcher 3 a lot more than my favorite Zelda games, and that is saying a lot.     Magnificent, Epic, Awesome!!. The only Witcher game I played before this was Witcher 2 and I can say this without double that W3 is 10xW2 easily.

But after the disappointing fallout 4, I decided to try this game and it is simply awesome. It is ridiculously big. The RPG elements are there, no fallout 4 FPS attempt here. This game also has no DRM which is just annoying andI am convinced that this has to be the game of the year. Great game play, amazing graphics, intelligent dialogues, surprisingly good "side" stories (quests), great main quests, nice mechanics, full of 'surprises', memorable "path-by-decision" progression (your choices changes the world and people/monsters on it, and in return you play the quest differently for each choice you canIt is a deadly sin not to play this game to its fully extension.     By the way, even if you are not very found of reading, DON'T MISS THE BOOKS. Reading them is like being on new unpublished/unplayed adventures of our beloved Geralt.

    It has been a long time since I played a game that was this good. I'm not saying the game was perfect, but it was a lot of fun. I'm not too familiar with the first two games, so I don't know the whole story, but I really liked the ending. I wish more more game developers were like CD Projekt Red and actually cared about delivering an awesome game instead of just raking in $$.

    I have been a fan of The Witcher series for several years now and so far the third has not disappointed. I'm not extremely familiar with a lot of technical language so forgive me if this isn't the most.     With said, I feel like the game play mostly follows suit with the previous witchers, especially the second one. There are times it's harder to control Geralt, and when I'm fighting, especially by edges, I find myself tumbling down the side of it.

    Despite the "down grade" I think the graphics are definitely up to standard and on my computer I can't even play max settings; I have heard that max setting don't change that much from medium or high, however they look fine to me. I have a bigger issue with the lack of motion within the camera, and my ability to control it more so then the graphics.

    Anyway, despite some issues I have with how the mechanics of the game play, or interface work, I find the story and world thrilling.

    I like the fact that Geralt in this game as so many more options when it comes to gear and customizing him. The world is dark and grim; the witcher and game of thrones have much in common.

    Because I find the world and the story so fascinating and view playing RPGs as interacting with a novel (or something along those lines).

    Game play is a bonus to me and the story alone is enough to have me give it a 10/10.    … Expand

The world feels so alive, and this is helped by some truly fantastic voice acting and story telling, riding through a town you will here countless little conversations organically playing out around you, and decisions you make will change the course of the game, so pick wisely!

    So the game has top notch visuals and audio, unmatched story telling and all the content you could ever want, so what's wrong with it? Well, not much really, in fact the only negative is the movement system, especially on horseback. It's so bad I feel knocking off a point is justified as you spend a lot of time on horseback especially which is by far the worst offender when it comes to movement, as well as AI (Roach will often spawn nowhere near you, on the other side of a wall or just refuse to move at all until you manually mount him). Geralt's movement has been improved since launch with an alternative movement option, and I suggest you use it.

    I should also mention the game within a game, Gwent. It's a card game that you can play against NPCs throughout the game, think similar to Hearthstone. It's very easy to pick up but quite hard to master, you will need to use sound strategy to beat the harder opponents. You can get lost Gwent easily if you're not careful, it's very addictive.

    To sum up, The Witcher III is up there with the best games of all time, and it's an absolute must buy for anyone who enjoys the RPG genre as it's as close to perfection as possible and you will love every minute of it.    … Expand

Yet, even though the combat doesn't break new boundaries, it's is still very enjoyable and varied (thanks to the distinct skill trees); definitely the best swordplay, bomb throwing and igni casting in the series.

    A huge world with everything from swamps, forests, caves systems, grassy plains, mountains and snow drifts are all beautifully detailed and handcrafted to feel inviting and vivid. Villages of all types, large, small, poor and wealthy all feel like realistic places, not a bit of copy and paste in sight. The several large cities and castles show great imagination and suck the player into a world of unparalleled richness.

    This detail and variety extends to virtually all the side quests and npc's too, and by God, are there a lot of them, all voiced and with personalities of their own. The game doesn't patronise you or tell you what to think and few npc's are simply black and white in their characterisations. The Bloody Baron questline is probably the most adult themed, mature story-line of an rpg I've ever played and it's exceptional because it was handled with such even handedness, care and considered gravity. No histrionics or lecturing from a pulpit here.

    There's a great amount of treasure to loot, Witcher Gear to craft, monster lairs to clear and just sheer exploration to be had, never knowing what's around the corner.
    Enemies variety is good, with the variety being enhanced by how different the approaches needed to tackle them are. Dealing with armed men is different from armed men with shields which in turn is far different form animals and humanoid monsters, who are also different to the larger beasts and, of course, the several bosses on offer.

    The game give me many different emotions as I moved through the main campaign and the side quests. Moments of sadness, situations that surprised me, times of doubt and indecision due to the morally grey choices I had to make and even times with unexpected humour, sentimentality or warmth. It meant that things never felt stale and I was always eager for more.

    I could go on an on but, especially with the sumptuous expansions which I urge you to pick up, this is simply one of my all time favourtie games and definitely my favourite open-world, fantasy, story driven RPG.

    I clocked up 135 hours on this game but was so reluctant to leave its world I played another 11 hours just to clear up little quests and collect the extra Witcher sets. I wasn't gonna even use them since they didn't fit my build but I was just looking for any excuse to continue the experience. I have also since played through again, along with the expansion so have 300+ hours now and plan to play through New Game+ sometime in the future at 4k resolution for an even more immersive experience.

So if you liked the previous games you will absolutely love this one.

    The game is also amazing from an RPG and action game perspective. Great characters, awesome writing, intriguing storyline, great visuals, and a world that feels very alive; all the story and events develop through a moral so gray that the concepts of "good and bad" seem ridiculous (as they should), and that will have you doubting your own decisions all through the game.

    I'm not blinded by my love of the franchise however, the game is not absolutely perfect. Optimization still has plenty of room for improvement (but so had both previous games and later patches fixed it) and the character movement and combat system could still be more fluid.

    My actual rating for this game is a 9.5, but due to all the no-life haters I rounded it to a 10.

    Buy the game, lets show support for companies like CD Project that actually deliver an experience you will remember for years to come.    … Expand

    Only down side I can think of is : This game gonna punch your PC in the face! I think you need 2 GTX 980 in SLI to run this game at ULTRA/60fps with HAIRWORKS and everything.

    This game ruined gaming for me! I compare every game with side quests to side quests of the Witcher and even though the games are great in the main story no game can hold up to the standards of Witcher (looking at you Horizon Zero Dawn, Ghost of Tsushima etc... ).

    Love the books, love the game, love polish series... hate the series from Netflix (its just not witcher)

    The Witcher 3 says no to all of this - it's a great game with a fully realized setting, it's a joy to play, the business model behind it treats its customers like human beings, and it delivers a story that finally hits the tone of the books.

    I've made it pretty clear that it's hardly a flawless game, but that doesn't change the fact that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is something pretty bloody special and you should absolutely play it.
