Nov 6, 2019It's not a New Vegas level, but it's a game for the RPG genre. The actual score is 8/10 but 10 points because the idiot gives 0.

Nov 8, 2019IMHO the only con for the game is that it's too short. Had to play it through twice
Hoping for more Obsidian games in this setting. Hopefully more... scaled up games in series - or even DLCs for that one -
Nov 8, 20199/10 (Giving it 10 because a lot of people gave it 0 which is totally undeserving)
This is a breath of fresh air in a world and time when literally every game tag itself as an RPG doesn't even have much RP elements in it.
This game is not an AAA game but you can clearly feel the amount of love developers put into this game. -

Nov 1, 2019This is another masterpiece from Obsidians. A great, well thought out setting and characters whose belief systems are shaped by their surroundings.

Oct 29, 2019What Fallout 76 should have been!
This is how you make a good open worlds action role-playing game. Good story and it seemed like choices actualy mattered. Runs perfectly fine on my half decent pc. The only reason I'm not giving it a 8/10 is because I had some bugs while looting resulting that some loot got lost before I could pick it up but thjs did not happen too often.

Nov 10, 2019Fantastic game! It feels like the good old fallout days, but in space with better gunplay. And it's only 1€ if you subscribe to Xbox game pass for the first time.

Nov 11, 2019It really feels like playing old good Fallout or Mass Effect game. While no open world, the locations are quite interesting and inspecting every single corner is rewarding. Story is awesome and freedom of choices is nice. I did enjoy this one quite a bit and it was very refreshing in comparison to many other games released lately.

Oct 29, 2019This is an excellent looter shooter RPG. Relatively short main story, but there are tons of side quests and lore to explore. The aesthetic is a very bleak portrayal of dystopian late stage capitalism that is still shockingly relatable. Great game.

Oct 29, 201910/10! Great work to Obsidian, they have done it again!! Amazing game. What i don't get, is how you can rate this game under 10? lol.

Nov 16, 2020The problem with this isn't that it is a bad game (far from it), but the fact that it failed to reach its true potential… or maybe the expectations were simply too high, because there's nothing here that anyone can point to and say that it is terrible. Sadly, there's almost nothing that's great either, apart from the role-playing element and the quality of writing. The gunplay? Ok. The exploration? Decent. The plot? Fine. The dominant feeling here is of a game that is good enough so that you won't hate it, but also not as good for it to be the flawless classic that it could definitely be - but again, that's probably those darn high expectations speaking, because flaws or no flaws, The Outer Worlds shouldn't be missing from any RPG collection.
-
Dec 9, 2019An excellent effort from Obsidian, and though The Outer Worlds doesn’t surpass its predecessors by offering a world worth visiting over and over, the adventure it presents is more than worth the time spent.

Game World Navigator MagazineDec 6, 2019Usually, a planet has just one or two settlements and a bit of wildlands to explore. But that’s for the best – instead of exploring miles of filler content, Outer Worlds keeps you moving from planet to planet, from one tense situation to another. [Issue#241, p.34]
