Feb 9, 202185% cutscenes, 15% actual gameplay. A huge letdown for me.
If you liked SMB and wanted more, play The End is Nigh instead. For some reason, they decided to make this an auto runner, and it makes the game that much worse. It feels more like a mobile game than anything. -

Dec 28, 2020A game ruined by greed and smartphone gaming. Disgusting to see super meat boy turned into this joke. Literally 1 button to end the game.

Dec 26, 2020Its just an mobile game that they threw onto other platforms. At the beginning this was also announced as an mobile only game. The gameplay is slow, the hitboxes from the saws are bad and the Controls are unresponsive. Sometimes it even lagged and i can play doom on medium. The lag was not bad but it just just how mindlessly this was ported onto other consoles.

Dec 30, 2020Pros: Classic Super Meatboy graphics which are nice. Price is good, especially if you use your $10 dollar Epic Games holiday coupon.
Con: It just doesn't feel like the original in any sense. An obvious phone port. It just feels bad.

CD-ActionJul 23, 2021The problem with the new Super Meat Boy is that it’s not the old Super Meat Boy. We have waited a decade for the sequel and it turned out to be an autorunner, which is not necessarily a welcome surprise. Two buttons is all you need, which makes CMBF very easy to grasp, but limited control over the protagonist can be maddening, especially that the game is even harder than the original. Having said that, the developers managed to squeeze a lot out of the simplified control scheme, and while I understand the game disappointed many fans, I still recommend it to those of you looking for a serious challenge. Feb 22, 2021While Super Meat Boy Forever is a good game, it really doesn’t compare to the original sense of precision movement and extreme difficulty that stuck out to the fans.

Feb 12, 2021Super Meat Boy Forever feels completely overtaken by time. The game is inferior to its predecessor in every way. The biggest problem is the fact that an autorunner like Forever leaves much less control to the player. The levels and bosses in Super Meat Boy Forever are therefore more annoying and frustrating than fun and challenging.
