    The final product is greater than the sum of its parts, though, and anyone seeking a fast-paced 3D action-platformer will be thrilled with Super Cloudbuilt.

    The game is cell-shaded to the absolute maximum, allowing for a perfect touch of detail that never distracts but still remains visually interesting, whether boosting through the worlds at top speed or stopping to take a look around every once in awhile. Otherwise you could miss it. The music though – wow. I can’t even describe it and that’s not just because it’s jaw-dropping but mainly because it seems to defy all known genres and has a mish-mash of techno, chiptune, drum and bass, classical, and god knows what else. I could go on and on praising it but the final word is the game is great, with a lot of content for those that can’t get enough, and should be played by any platformer lover, whilst the soundtrack needs to be listened to by absolutely everybody with ears.

    Super Cloudbuilt‘s frenetic nature means it won’t be for everybody – it starts challenging and only gets harder from there – but for those who can keep up with its breakneck pace and conundrum like levels it’ll be addictive and utterly mesmerising.

    Super Cloudbuilt is a high speed, low gravity platform game featuring an excellent level design, a lot of additional content and some online modes that help make the experience never feel dull. Controls may take some time to get used, but after a few stages, players will be able to fly through stages in search of the fastest way to complete it and score a high place on the Leaderboards as if it were second nature. Highly recommended to platform game and especially Sonic the Hedgehog fans.

    Super Cloudbuilt has the potential for unlimited playability simply due to the fact that there is always a higher challenge to aim for. The downside to this, however, is an intense level of frustration from repeated failure. The visual aesthetic and puzzles are commendable, but the awe doesn’t even register in comparison to the amazement you can experience due to your own reflexes and persistence – if you ever actually manage to make progress.

    As far as a parkour platforming game Super Cloudbuilt is at the precipice of what's available in the gaming arena as far as speed goes; and if you fall into the second category of people, I urge you to keep away. You will not enjoy yourself the way the game is meant to be enjoyed; and this game is definitely not for everyone.
    Now in gaming, sometimes I like it to be simple. But when I invest time in something I want to be a completionist - So after over 200 hours in this game I'm still playing - but I'm certainly not the same player I was after the first 10 hours, or 20, or 50, or 100. The game is very well balanced but always offers a challenge. Recommended for anyone who is extremely technical and wants to take the time to figure out the technical details.    … Expand

    Super Cloudbuilt is wonderful, it is everything Cloudbuilt wanted to be polished to perfection. I put over 900 hours into the original Cloudbuilt, and while the core mechanics were phenomenal and I obviously love it it did have some obvious flaws. The story was a notable weak point and the whole game lacked a sense of polish, on top of that several of the game modes were prone to crashing and a couple of bugs with the movement simplified the game to much at the highest level. I'm happy to say that all of that has been addressed in Super Cloudbuilt

    The core of what made Cloudbuilt great is still here, that freedom of choice and the feeling of exploration is made all the more viceral by the redesigned levels and expansive design incorperated into every piece of the game. The movement is more refined, allowing new players to pick up the game more quickly and feel greater control over their motions. Demi feels as if she has actual weight and momentum now and the strange way Demi liked to get stuck on things in the original is gone.

    The story and level select have been overhauled from the ground up. The hospital hub world is compact yet full of detail and the fact that Demi's monologues can be listened to inside loading screens or as you begin a new level keeps them from breaking the flow as they did in the original. The voice acting is also much improved, as well as the writing.

    Finally, the polish. Everything about Super Cloudbuilt screams polish. The menus are sleek and modern, the inventory system is simple and effective, and everything is where you would expect it to be. All of this combined with a new global leaderboard system and the many gamemodes Cloudbulit has always had gives hours of content for those people who want to go fast while still providing rewards for those who want to play more casually.

    For me Super Cloudbuilt is a 10/10, everything about this game is an improvement upon the original and it has earned it's spot as one of my favorite games of all time.    … Expand

I can't think of any other game that captures the sense of speed and dynamic movement found in Super Cloudbuilt. In that regard, Super Cloudbuilt truly is a masterful work of art.

    The game gives the player a multitude of ways to tackle any given level, and encourages creativity with many movement options at your disposal. As you hone your skills and become more confident with your abilities, new paths will open to you, and you'll be able to traverse gorgrous dreamscapes in ways you thought impossible before.

    If you like what you see from the gameplay online, do not hesitate to try this game out. It's a game that is super rewarding to both play and master, give it a shot!    … Expand

The reason for not higher was it was challenging and not to clear how to solve the puzzle to find the true ending and the tutorials about how to use the jetpack are kind of weak and there are some levels in ranked I never found in the actual game. (My fall, the way around, and pulse core.) I've had a hard time climbing on the leaderboards as well.

    From the get go, I felt the game is about speedrunning. The game opens up into a menu with a speedrunning ranked mode. Every premise in the game is about evolving and improving as a speedrunner. To be more clear, even the story is based around this. Demi, the main character, was injured in combat, she wakes up to find herself in a state of being reconstructed in a military program that will augment her to be a super soldier that can compete in the drone wars. She then is given tasked with levels to help her to evolve her skills in each of the branches in the game. Each branch had a clear focus to me. Birch branch was meant to give you and explanation of the tools you have, Willow was about learning how to climb and move upward, Maple was about how to use the gun to clear enemies, ash was about fine tuning your movement, hawthorn was about using speed as you play, and oak was about improving wall running. The game was kind of disjointed until I figured out how to use the fog core and find the true ending to the game where you are crowned a master of the world after beating some of the hardest platforming I've yet run into.

    The levels Desire and the Beyond were two of the most fun platforming levels I've played and it felt gratifying to improve enough and learn how to beat them as the game taught me the mechanics gradually to do so. The level the Night it felt gave so much reasoning as to why you have so many pickups and what they are for. After using the fog core and entering the fog levels through their portals in my regrets, Questions, and redeployment, I saw how the powerups and everything were based around the puzzles in the fog core levels and how the game trains you to be ready to play the ending. It was definitely easier to play on pc after playing on console but I could beat the game in both. It seems like you view the game as not a game about evolving as a speedrunner and didn't start the game to compete. It felt like the movement was much better at matching real world parkour. If you like stand next to walls and then jump up on them instead of running into them and starting you jump into the wall away from the wall you kind of just don't really get anywhere which is refreshing. Also, the game has a lot of boost-jumps(pressing one button immediately after the other) which let you manage how you push through the space. It was challenging to learn how to use them. I was surprised how lit the true ending was for a game about evolving in skill. Again 8.5/10 with most of it being about confusion in finding the true ending and difficulty in learning the game. I definitely don't regret playing through it and would highly recommend it.    … Expand

    Super Cloudbuilt is a very unique game. It kind of reminds me of the days when I'd play GunZ: The Duel and do a lot of wall jumping, or gamesSuper Cloudbuilt is a very unique game. It kind of reminds me of the days when I'd play GunZ: The Duel and do a lot of wall jumping, or games like the modern Sonic games. Although the physics are a little clunky and take a bit of getting used to, at its core, it's a great parkour game, and there aren't many parkour games out there that are nearly as well-made as this one.

    The maps are very unique and there are multiple paths you can take to beat them. The maps get harder and harder each time, making it more and more satisfying to play. The visuals look like they came out of a sketchbook. The story is light but intriguing; you're a girl suffering from amnesia who is trying to figure out what's going on and why you're going through these trials.

    One peeve I had was that some maps were insanely hard (e.g. Desire, Nostalgia, Chains) without power-ups. I can't imagine anyone being able to play those maps on a controller due to the necessity of split-second precision aim and maneuvering. If you want to save yourself many hours of frustration, don't attempt those maps until you have a Focus Trigger or some checkpoint power-ups.

    (On a side note, this game had an issue with my GPU's core clock, where if the core clock wasn't reduced, the game would often crash. This may or may not affect you, but if it does, simply reduce your core clock to fix it.)

    Frankly speaking, my review gravitated between 7 and 9 for quite some time. I ultimately settled on an 8. There are good parts of the game that keep you craving for more, but then there are issues with difficulty that really make you want to flip a table because they weren't planned out well.

    The super secret area, which adds three maps to the main story, can only be unlocked with a very specific means that you'd never think of if you didn't refer to a guide, and even when you do, if you lose the first map, the area gets permanently locked off unless you replay a chunk of the game again. Personally, I reached a point in the first map that I couldn't figure out the solution to, so I had no choice but to give up. This secret area's technically not part of the game since it's a hidden secret, but it's still disappointing that it happened.    … Expand

    This game consists of a 5 hour long story mode, as well as challenge modes ranked and rush...
    And I am completely awful at this game…
    I found Super Cloudbuilt to be super frustrating thanks to its design choices and floaty feeling controls..
    Here you’re able to jump, shoot, and dash... thankfully there is an option to customize controls because the default control scheme is just as bad as I am at this game…
    at first I was having a lot of fun with super cloudbuilt..
    You wall run and climb while you avoid mines, lasers and the occasional enemy... all while trying to find your way to the games end... collecting items along your way to unlock lockers at the end of each level for extra lives, find placeable checkpoints that you can use when you feel you just passed a challenging point you don’t want to go through again…
    all of this was fun at first… but it never felt fluent or responsive..
    I felt like I had no real control compared to games like titanfall 2 or mirrors edge catalyst that kind of does a similar thing as super cloudbuilt…
    I felt like the boost ran out too fast... She didn’t get enough distance in her wall running... it just started to feel frustrating to me rather than fast and fluent…
    and this wasn’t helped by the fact you have to also control the camera so you’re not sure where the ledge is you need to jump to next…
    and onto [p of this there’s no real progression indicator from the game..
    You’re just thrown into a level with a bunch of floating platforms and the rest is up to you...
    and this caused the game for me to feel like it lacked polish…
    and the games idea of challenge is to take even more control away from you as it ads sections and walls that don’t let you boost..
    Instead of letting you have your tools and challenging you with obstacles or crazy jumps instead…
    but even then the games floaty feel wouldn’t cause that to work either...
    I could just not like this game because I am bad at it…
    I didn’t have the urge to try again once I lost all of my levels in a level and had to restart from the bottom..
    I just got annoyed and blamed the game for not knowing what to do at the spots I died in
    Super Cloud built is a challenging game, so I can still see the good here for players into this sort of thing…
    but the games feel for me was off, and not one I can recommend
