If you really need to scratch an itch and play a future type game with spaceships, and want to do it for almost no money, then play it via gamepass. Do NOT BUY the game.

As for RPG style, choices and graphics.... this is a 0 out of 10. Graphics (environment), NPC faces, animations, etc are absolutely last gen or worse. Think Xbox360 at worst and bad Xbox One at best. Textures on people, ships and building can look really good. Just don't expect the foliage or people to look that way. Don't get me started on the constant loading for everything you do.
Any choices you think you have, think again. NO choices affect anything. Your skill choices and your actual actions that you think may affect dialogues or quests NEVER affect anything. Don't believe me and want proof, search for the MarcoStyle youtuber, as he explains what is happening. I don't have a youtube channel or the time for that. Factor in the insane bugs, think Cyberpunk 2077 release, except we know that that game was released 2 yrs too early and Starfield was given almost an EXTRA year to polish this junk.
Overall, this game rates higher than a zero because they *could* fix the bugs and maybe improve textures and I really liked the ships, despite not being able to use them like I thought I would.

It is enough to read the false reviews of all the Sony fanboys and understand that the game is really great. It's very simple if the game was really bad then the Sony fanboys wouldn't bother to bomb the site here.
    Highly recommend the game!

Felt like I was playing a Bethesda game from 2015, and it didn’t really offer much improvement from then. They are still using an old engine and it shows.

The worst PC Port ever seen!

I am a big fan of Bethesda and Xbox, but I have to admit that this time they have disappointed me, I was looking forward to this new IP from the studio, when I found out that they were going to use the Creation Engine again, I began to doubt if I would be up to 2023 standards, I was wrong. This game is mediocre for a studio like Bethesda you have people review bombing on both sides. So in all honesty it evens it out on a 5 to 6 what this game is truelly worth, it's not a bad game just not worth the money it is now.

Absolutely fantastic. A galaxy to explore and get lost in with so much to do and so much to find, Starfield is a complete masterpiece of a RPG that you will be coming back to this world for years to come, much like previous BSG works.
Sony Fanboys and Biased Media will try their hardest to bomb this game purely because of their childish "xbox bad" views, but don't let that put you off

Starfield is a top game with many systems in place that, if you enjoy base building,, ship building, ship combat, role playing, decisions that matter and influence the course of the galaxy, solid melee and shooting combat etc, then starfield is the game for you.

This is a very disappointing release from Bethesda. Very early into the game the flaws already start to show very blatantly. The writing is very poor and not engaging at all. Enemies are bullet sponges and the guns do not have any weight to them. Then there are the many bugs that people have come to expect from Bethesda. All in all I would not recommend this game. Do yourself a favor and play the old mass effect games, they are so much better. If you do want to try this game out, just get game pass. Don't pay 70 bucks for this, it's barely worth a tenner. Such a disappointment from a legendary software house that has not been able to innovate. This game, considered it's 2023, is just a clunky big agglomerate of old game mechanics and old game design. The game itself feels boring to play and I am a huge lover of Skyrim and Fallout... Both look fantastic on my gaming rig, no major glitches on either game, which feels so weird. Sony could learn from these two and

Another rushed bethesda game, what a surprise.
It honestly feels like Fallout 76 in space. The movement, textures, graphics, audio engine, npcs, etc. all feel like they are from 2016-2017, and yet it still runs like crap compared to something recent. If i hide the hud and don't go to space, there would be almost no way to tell 76 apart from this game.

If you aren't sitting in your cockpit or walking around, you're in a fast travel/loading screen simulator. Plenty of games, AA ones at that, have pulled off loading and unloading assets to allow for seamless transitions between tilesets. If traversal was solved this would be a contender for GOTY, as it stands its a B-tier sci fi rpg that is going to sit on the shelf until modders either fix it or deem it impossible to fix and I play it as the mediocre, disjointed mass of gameplay it didn't have to be. I wasn't particularly hyped for Starfield, but after playing it and recognizing it's potential, I am truly disappoint. Expand

The attention to detail in the game world is mind-blowing, and I've lost track of time just immersing myself in this sci-fi universe. It's a fantastic space adventure, and I can't wait to see how it evolves with future updates. Bethesda has created something special here, and I'm loving every minute of it!

I can't help but wonder why some players are being so harsh in their ratings. Starfield is a space odyssey I've been waiting for, and it's delivering more than I expected

I fell in love with Starfield. It's my cup of sci-fi and I can't wait to spend the next thirty, fifty, maybe seventy hours here. I enjoy the exploration, the shootouts, the art style, the ship building, and the diverse worlds. I gratefully acknowledge the good optimization and the absence of major bugs. But I can't overlook the flaws. There are bad animations, ugly faces and repetitive moments.[Issue#329]

In a year dominated by sequels to franchise favorites, there was a hope that Starfield would carve its own path to success. While the team at Bethesda should be commended for taking such a big swing, there’s no denying that the game doesn’t feel like a cohesive work. Maybe continued support and future sequels will make something more meaningful out of a work that is clearly deeply enamored with both science fiction and space exploration. Unforunately, this first launch has had far more mixed results than desired.
