    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I've played Starfield for 55 hours as of this review, and I'm really enjoying it. The game is massive, with a vast galaxy to explore and many planets to land on. I've spent hours just running around and exploring, and I've only scratched the surface. I've already dumped more hours into it than I did Skyrim and the many times I've restarted it, trying to commit to finishing it.

    The gameplay is also a lot of fun. I love being able to fly my own spaceship and engage in combat with other factions or people. The crafting system is also really cool, and I'm looking forward to building my own weapons, armor, and the many outposts I play to supplant on the worlds I visit. Is it NMS? Definitely not as they're two different types of game. Overall, Starfield and No Man's Sky are two different types of space exploration games. Starfield is a more traditional RPG with a focus on story and handcrafted content, while No Man's Sky is a more open-ended sandbox game with a focus on exploration and discovery.

    The story is still early, but it's already interesting. I'm intrigued by the mystery that I'm investigating, and I'm excited to see where the story goes. True to Bethesda form, the side quest are engaging as well with the sprinkle of events you come across as you travel.

    Overall, I'm really impressed with Starfield. For a decade where we've seen nothing but flops at initial launch, Starfield has turned out to be a great game, and I can't wait to see what else it has to offer. This has been one of Bethesda's better releases in a long while. I hope it just goes upwards from here for team Bethesda. (whatever happened to Redfall! Let's hope they repeat that failure!)

    Hot Tip (not a spoiler really):
    When you get the mission "Into the Uknown", which you'll get after completing the first 2 missions of main quest line, do it first before exploring and side-quests. It will open up Starfield fully and you won't regret not doing it sooner like I did.    … Expand

    My thoughts after 80 hours of playtime

    I've always dreamed of someone making a game about space that captured the feel of some of my favorite sci-fi shows like Firefly and Cowboy Bebop etc. and this game accomplishes that and much much more.     Starfield absolutely takes my breath away at every turn, from the stunning visuals to the space exploration and the seemingly endless amounts of well thought out content in this game, I feel like I could play Starfield for many years to come and never get tired of it. Each city feels like its own game, I find myself getting sidetracked from the main story very often by random side quests that usually lead to something extremely interesting.
    I haven't felt this way about games for a long time now; I feel like a kid again staying up all night not wanting to stop playing it.
    I'm already 80 hours in and I'm just scratching the surface of what this game has to offer. It's a phenomenal game in just about every way.

While nothing Starfield does is truly revolutionary to the genre, what it does do it does so well, and at such a jaw-dropping scale, that after we’d started playing we thought about it every morning, every night, and then it even invaded our dreams.

    You begin Starfield as a miner on a remote planet working for a faceless corporation. You’re tasked with unearthing a strange artifact that’s been found on the planet. After touching the item, you experience a strange sensation, like being one with the cosmos. Following this, you’re approached by Constellation, a group that’s dedicated to exploring the wider galaxy and discovering the secrets of these artifacts.
    While the tone and scale of Starfield differ from past Bethesda games, the core gameplay is very similar. It’s an RPG crossed with a shooter, where you can build out a character using a variety of traits and skills. Often, this can impact how you approach missions; sometimes, you can talk your way into getting what you want, and other times, you’ll need to fight.focused a lot on my social skills because, much like Fallout before it, Starfield isn’t the most adept shooter. It may look like one, with a huge range of weapons to collect and the ability to play from a first-person perspective, but this is not Destiny. Aiming feels wonky, and oftentimes, shots that seem to hit an enemy point blank will fail to register. It’d be nice if Starfield had the equivalent of the VATS system from Fallout, giving it pseudo-turn-based combat, but instead, it’s just a passable shooter attached to a very ambitious RPG. That might be the reason I spent so many skill points on my persuasion abilities.

    Conversation remains a big part of the experience. You spend a lot of time talking, with an up-close view of whoever you’re conversing with. You’ll need to chat with companion characters to get closer to them (while also making sure you don’t do upsetting things, like, uh, murder people in front of them) and others to garner information or get yourself out of trouble. Considering the sheer amount of dialogue, all of which is voiced, it’s impressive just how consistently well-written and acted Starfield is. There are some awkward moments when there are more than two people in a conversation — sometimes a character might not be facing you when speaking, and the cuts between dialogue can feel unnatural — but otherwise, it’s all very convincing, which is good since you’ll be spending a lot of time doing it.

    So, while the shooting When Starfield's visuals deliver, oh boy, they really deliver. Global illumination cleverly washes the game in evocative tones that bring alien valleys to life in a way that previous iterations made in the Creation Engine simply could not.     Il a certes des defauts mais ils sont vite gommé pars les nombreuses qualités qu il a a offrir.

    Ce jeu est tres immersif et offre une aventure grandiose avec un enorme contenu.

    Desde Elden Ring eu não me prendo tanto a um jogo como Starfield.
    O jogo possuiu pontos negativos e positivos,mas o positivos prevalecem tanto que acabamos esquecendo dos problemas.
    A texturas do ambiente ( naves,edifícios e planetas) são excelentes. A iluminação desde jogo é uma das melhores que eu já vi. A trilha sonora casa com todo o gameplay,dando ênfase em cenas de batalhas e    Desde Elden Ring eu não me prendo tanto a um jogo como Starfield.

    Si te sacas de la cabeza las altas expectativas (si, vendieron un poco de humo) y dejas de poner el foco en sus puntos flojos, se convierte en un juego muy disfrutable. Hay que dejarse llevar por su universo sin exigirle mas de lo que es o pretende ser.

    No todo lo que propone el juego es destacable, pero en su conjunto funciona muy bien y es una gran experiencia.     Le doy un 8 por ahora. No tengo dudas que con el tiempo lo van a pulir, mejorar, agregar contenido, mods, etc. y podría superar el 9.

    Para los que no lo jugaron, les dejo algunos puntos que van a tener que aceptar o asumir rápido para pasar a disfrutar de este gran juego:

    - Probablemente la exploración y viajes no sea lo que esperabas, o te resulte mas limitada de lo que dieron a entender previamente.

    - IA mediocre.

    - El gunplay y el combate no es gran cosa, pero es bastante bueno para ser de Bethesda y entretenido.

    - Hay muchas pantallas de cargas, aunque son rápidas puede molestar un poco hasta que te acostumbras.

    - Algunas animaciones sobre todo las faciales son anticuadas. Además la sincronización labial es pésima.
    (Estamos en 2023, hay detalles que Bethesda o un AAA de este calibre tendría que cuidar a esta altura.)

    - En cuanto a diálogos, guion, personajes, tramas/subtramas, etc. Es irregular pero en general esta bien en esos aspectos. Hay misiones secundarias que me han gustado mas que las principales.

    - Si, lógicamente tiene bugs... Pero en mi experiencia, en una cantidad totalmente aceptable.
    Nada que arruine la experiencia como paso Ciberpunk 2077 (salvo que seas obsesivo)

    - Hay situaciones o lugares que parecen un copia y pega, no se si debe al contenido aleatorio o procedural    … Expand

    The early guidance is terrible. For those unfamiliar with BRPGs, they might think the game's strengths are no different from other AAA titles, but its presentation and performance are even worse than other AAA games.
    In reality, the scale of the starry sky in the game is terrifyingly vast, with numerous gameplay systems, exciting faction side quests, character side quests, and even over a dozen types of toilets.
    There's also spaceship customization, base building, farming, romance(?), and you can pick up items everywhere to decorate your home, build robots, and so on...
    There's a realistic planetary ecosystem, true-to-scale planetary sizes (you can indeed land on a plot near a city and see the distant city, but one landing will elevate you to a plot the size of a map in another AAA game. This plot is just a tiny dot on the landing selection screen, making it hard to select).
    A genuine celestial system is in motion, even gravitational slingshots are replicated, and the terrains are all fixed. You can fly directly between the Earth and the Moon (though it's the actual distance). All of this makes the starry sky in the game a believable world. Only in a believable world can players immerse themselves and role-play genuinely.
    None of these are guided, leading to some degree of misunderstanding.    … Expand

The game is really good, hardly no bugs and solid graphics. *it's very well known that there were groups and posts online about people planning a mass review bomb.     People who are complaining about the size of the explorable area per planet do not make any sense. Unless we are talking Mario Galaxy I'd say its actually silly to think a game would even be as large as ONE planet let alone a thousand. When I heard the announcement of 1000 planets I assumed it'll be like Jedi Fallen Order/Survivor where you go to a part of it, like a themed level. Also the whole thing about people moaning about not being able to fly a ship from one to another is also silly given the amount of time to realistically do that would take months per journey. And no its not like No Man's Sky as it actually has a solid story and side quests etc. It's a solid game with no issues or microtransactions, if you are on the fence about it try it with Games pass before listening to the trolls.    … Expand

    This is maybe by far the best Bethesda game.
    Just don't compare it to Star Citizen which is a completely different game (By the way the buggiest game ever but very fun).

    If you are a bgs fan or a lover of sci fi you will love this. Outside of a couple hiccups the game runs pretty smooth. Very interesting world to explore with fun ship and outpost customization.

    Starfield ist ein fantastisches Open World Rollenspiel, das an alte Bethesda-Stärken anknüpft und in fast allen Bereichen ein wirklicher Fortschritt zu früheren Bethesda Spielen ist (vom Rollenspiel über die Tiefe der Charaktere und der Fraktionen bis hin zu der Tatsache dass das Spiel im Vergleich zu anderen modernen Releases fast bugfrei ist) und teilweise revolutionäre eigene AkzenteStarfield ist ein fantastisches Open World Rollenspiel, das an alte Bethesda-Stärken anknüpft und in fast allen Bereichen ein wirklicher Fortschritt zu früheren Bethesda Spielen ist (vom Rollenspiel über die Tiefe der Charaktere und der Fraktionen bis hin zu der Tatsache dass das Spiel im Vergleich zu anderen modernen Releases fast bugfrei ist) und teilweise revolutionäre eigene Akzente setzt (der Schiffsbau ist großartig).

    Es hat seine Schwächen und diskutablen Design-Entscheidungen. Gerade das seltsame pacing des Reisens oder die fehlenden Karten können manchmal frustrieren und das Spiel braucht auch ein paar Stunden bis es wirklich Klick macht, sobald es dann aber Klick macht, zieht es einen in einen Sog, der einen eine Woche später verblüfft mit dem Gedanken zurücklässt, wo denn die ganze Zeit hingekommen ist.

    Eine absolute Kaufempfehlung für jeden, der etwas mit Open World Rollenspielen und Sci-fi anfangen kann und der auch einem Spiel die Zeit geben kann, sich voll zu entfalten, denn wenn es sich erstmal entfaltet, ist Starfield ein fantastischer Abenteuerspielplatz mit vielen tollen Geschichten, der einen für eine lange Zeit in seinen Bann zieht.    … Expand

Las partes que siempre han hecho bien en Bethesda aquí funcionan como un reloj, e incluso algunas como los tiroteos han mejorado notablemente para convertirse en algo realmente disfrutable. No obstante los nuevos territorios en los que se aventuran los autores de The Elder Scrolls, como esa nueva forma de entender la exploración o todo lo que tiene que ver con las naves, han resultado ser pantanosos y no han acabado de dar buen resultado. Al ser tan desigual no ha acabado siendo el videojuego que nos iba a cambiar la vida para siempre, pero no por ello deja de ser una obra estupenda y muy recomendable.     This game is the pinnacle of open world gaming. So many fleshed out factions. The game economy is engrossing and well thought out as well. The lore is worthy of having a Netflix CGI series for the backstory. The ship building is a game all by it's self. In Starfield The Lipsyncing is great and in 3rd person your character is firmly planted to the ground and perfectly positioned. To finally make 1st and 3rd person options equally viable ways to play. From the first mission on Kreet I was hooked absorbing all the environmental storytelling about the Terrormorph. And then joining the Vanguard and getting an Aliens 3 styled Quest right from the start. The game is incredible. Todd Howard and his fantastic team really made the game of a generation.     Starfield is one of the few games that immerses you in a unique environment. Comparing it to Starcitizen or No mans Sky is unfair, starfield has a different atmosphere and mechanics. It is an excellent game. I've been playing it for 83 hours and it's very addictive.

    tiene un increible menu de personalizacion te da horas y horas de exploracion aun con alguno que otro bug la verdad si te envuelve, me encanto el detalle que si es posible viajar de planeta en planeta pero tardaria mucho por eso se implementa el viaje rapido, el arbol de habilidades, las armas y combates se sienten variados y fluidos tiene la marca de calidad de bethesda game studios ytiene un increible menu de personalizacion te da horas y horas de exploracion aun con alguno que otro bug la verdad si te envuelve, me encanto el detalle que si es posible viajar de planeta en planeta pero tardaria mucho por eso se implementa el viaje rapido, el arbol de habilidades, las armas y combates se sienten variados y fluidos tiene la marca de calidad de bethesda game studios y puedo decir que es increible, y el tema de que la tierra pueda ser visitable asi como el crafteo de objetos y personalizacion de naves me enamoro de esta joya, decir que este juego no ira nominado a los GOTY seria un absurdo, 10/10… Expand

    Combat is improved, graphics are improved, animations are improved, the faction missions are brilliant, the side missions are way better than I expected and its just overall super fun to play. Bethesda is back to what they do best, making wonderful game worlds for people to do there thing in. I wanted to be slick talking space cowboy and I have been    Best Bethesda game since Oblivion!

    The game does have issues, such as the map and UI being trash and performance needing improvement, but everything else is top notch. This is my second favorite game of the year for 2023, behind Baldurs Gate 3.

    This is the deepest sandbox exploration game since Fallout 2. It is a legit space exploration that helps you to understand which star system is located where and which planets surround it. A lot of great fun exploring, shooting on the ground, and shooting in space. It has an amazing starship builder tool to build your unique spaceship.

It is a legit space exploration that helps you to understand which star system is located where and which planets surround it. A lot of great fun exploring, shooting on the ground, and shooting in space. It has an amazing starship builder tool to build your unique spaceship.

    Currently 30 hours into the game. This is the most premium, well made Bethesda game of all time. It is now my favourite bgs game ever made. I lose track of hours. When I'm not playing, I'm thinking about what to do next in game, or talking to friends about it, or watching streams of it.

    This is a Bethesda game through and through. If you liked fallout and Skyrim, you will like this game.

    This game is everything I ever wanted from single player space game. 70 hours in and having a lot of fun. Please ignore scores that are 0 or close to it as those are haters trying to bomb review this game (And PS trolls). It does not deserve that score and it is solid 8 and above. I gave it 10 because I love space, FPS combat, piloting and exploration, and this game has more than enough of those

    At first the game can be confusing, with the various menys and interfaces but it takes time to get used to it and i recommend everyone to have patience with this game and give it a chance. It looks beautiful, runs smoothly and is absolutely VAST in size.
    I end up giving it a fairly high rating after playing for several days, the intro is quite boring tho so get past that

    I'm sure they will improve performance over time, so for me so far it is a solid 9/10 game, If they improve performance, it will be a 10/10

    It’s an amazing game, it requires a bit of maturity to appreciate it as it’s not over the top like a lot of games now a days.

    If you go in looking for faults you will find them, but if you can move past those there is a galaxy of incredible content

You can pretty much do whatever you want, i havent felt that freedom on any other game before. Starfied for me is a combination of Bethesda bests and Mass Effect.     Starfield is likely Bethesda's best game since Oblivion. However, it has some issues like performance issues on PCs, no DLSS support, and no surface vehicles. Despite that, the game is Bethesda's least buggy game. During my 100 hours of playtime, I only found 4 minor bugs. The typical Bethesda jank is still present, such as NPCs walking in your face during a dialogue scene. The gunplay isStarfield is likely Bethesda's best game since Oblivion. However, it has some issues like performance issues on PCs, no DLSS support, and no surface vehicles. Despite that, the game is Bethesda's least buggy game. During my 100 hours of playtime, I only found 4 minor bugs. The typical Bethesda jank is still present, such as NPCs walking in your face during a dialogue scene. The gunplay is by far Bethesda's best. Although the loading screens are common, they only take 1-2 seconds, so they are not a big issue. Furthermore, not being able to fly down to the surface of a planet is not a significant drawback because you would get nothing from it - I say this as someone who has put over 150 hours in No Man's Sky and about 30 hours in Star Citizen.

    The exploration in Starfield is quite unique compared to other Bethesda games. It's hard to explain, but the game's exploration is more vertical than horizontal. You will either love it or hate it. Unlike other Bethesda games, where you might see something in the distance and go to it, in Starfield, it's different. I enjoyed the main story more than any past Bethesda game, and I've played everything from Morrowind to Fallout 4. Starfield is more of an RPG than Fallout 4, but less of an RPG than Morrowind or Baulders Gate 3.

    TLDR: It's a good game if you like Bethesda RPGs and space, have a good PC, and are willing to pay $70 for a game. But it's not GOTY or as good of an RPG as Baulders Gate 3.    … Expand

    You’ll be bombarded , by such a high volume of side quests , and side quests between the side quests , that you’ll explore a lot of what this universe has to offer (and it has A LOT to offer) without even noticing.

    There is such a massive amount of handcrafted content , and planet locations…That you’ll really see no reason (or have no time) to spend 20 minutes running on a straight line to see if there are invisible walls somewhere.

    On my 68 hours of gameplay , I haven’t once stumbled upon this infamous invisible walls , and I have been exploring a lot.

    I’m not saying they aren’t there , I’m saying that the only way you will break your “immersion” on starfield , is if you are looking for it. Lookign for flaws , trying to look behind the curtain.

    I repeat I’m 68 hours in and i feel I have barely scratched the surface.

    I haven’t even got serious with the mining stuff.

    Starfield has achieved to scratch 2 big itches simultaneously for me:

    I have been wanting an space game.
    And I have been wanting a Bethesda game.

    And starfield is good at both things.

    -Jumping on a rocky moon with low gravity , watching the stars and galaxies above you and suddenly see the gas giant with its huge rings appear above the Horizon, while starfield’s amazing soundtrack sounds in the background? Check.

    -Having space fights , or boarding enemy spaceships and taking control of them? Check

    -finding abandoned space stations/casinos/research facilities etc floating outside random planets , docking to them and having amazing 0 gravity fights with pirates or spacers or whatever is inside them?

    -Rol playing whoever you want to be and However you want to be and create your own story like only Bethesda games let you? Check

    Having a gazillion side quests , well written , original and non-repetitive ? Check

    Amazing atmosphere and story? Check

    Good side characters and voice acting? Check

    Good graphics? Check

    Good ship creating and customization?
    Check check check

    And most importantly, am I having a lot of fun and about to end this review without spell checking it Because I want to jump back into starfield?

    Yes, there are some limitations on flight and you cannot fly directly to planets (like NMS) but I'd rather have this and a brief loading screen than empty planets with nothing to do on them. I've rather enjoyed the fast travel as a way to keep the action going rather than spending hours of my time just getting to my needed destinations.

    Gunplay is surprisingly enjoyable for a Bethesda game and space combat has also been fun. Ship building takes it to the next level. I'm looking forward to sinking many more hours into this game.    … Expand

The random encounters with insurance salesmen, the Breaking bad and Batman references (including a kinda fake bat cave) Halo    Starting off I thought it was just a 7-8.

    I haven't even started ship building, or much outpost building. I liken it to the best vacation you might have had...
    Not the best room ever, but good.
    Not all the meals were the best, but some stood out.
    Some attractions might have been not what you expected, or lived up to, some did.

    BUT you might have had the best vacation ever, filled with so much fun!

    Great game. Guarantee the negative reviews are still playing this game. It's just this generation that is the problem. Would like to see a more skyrim style level up system. Instead of picking up points. Things upgrade based on use. Haven't found the a good use for the outposts. Feel like the metals are cheap enough to buy to get all resources for upgrades.

    Play it on a SSD with a good CPU and you’ll be treated to the best first person RPG in years. Bethesda has gone back to their roots and crafted a special experience that gives you more when you play it by its terms and give more to it. Give it a chance.

    j'ai plus de 80h de jeu, le jeu au début c'est mou plus tu avance et mieux tu l'apprécies et vraiment je découvre tellement de nouvelle choses après 80H de jeu, l'histoire du jeu n'est pas compliqué a comprendre si ta un cerveau qui fonctionne, ta énormément de quette et ça cool, la fabrication du SHIP un peu compliqué a comprendre au début comme l'avant poste c'est flou a comprendre auj'ai plus de 80h de jeu, le jeu au début c'est mou plus tu avance et mieux tu l'apprécies et vraiment je découvre tellement de nouvelle choses après 80H de jeu, l'histoire du jeu n'est pas compliqué a comprendre si ta un cerveau qui fonctionne, ta énormément de quette et ça cool, la fabrication du SHIP un peu compliqué a comprendre au début comme l'avant poste c'est flou a comprendre au début, très peut de bug, par contre l'optimisation peut mieux faire 4080 Ryzen 7700x 32 ramDDR5 je suis a 60FPS max dans les ville en 2k ultra… Expand

    Best space game ever made so far! This is what Star Citizen promises us to be, minus the tedious "sim" part of planetary landings.

    I like the game a lot; it is fun and very engaging. It is not perfect; there are a lot of glitches, and planet exploration is not that good.

    I have an RTX 3070 & a AMD 9 3900XT and the game runs fine for me. I'm level 33 now and have run into some bugs in the later parts of the game but all in all it's the best game I've played in years.

    Starfield has its flaws, but it's a pretty good game. The graphics are stunning, the gameplay is awesome so far, and the freedom to explore a vast universe is impressive. It's like Fallout, but in space!

    So I have waited for a long time for this game. Is there things that can be improved absolutely. The story is great, and the game is not near as buggy. I do wish there was less loading, but no different than Skyrim. Please don't listen to reviews of people who have never touched this masterpiece.

    At first, I thought the game was tedious and too complicated with all of its new mechanics but I decided to give it a couple more hours to see what the game is truly about. Since then I've found myself coming back to it over and over again since the early release. Starfield rekindled that feeling I had playing Skyrim as a teen.     Fantastic on my pc and Xbox series console. Has a few bugs but that’s true with any new launch. Enjoy the game don’t listen to the salty people

    Sure, no game is perfect, and I've noticed a few minor issues here and there, but they don't take away from the overall fantastic experience. I can't help but wonder why some players are being so harsh in their ratings. Starfield is a space odyssey I've been waiting for, and it's delivering more than I expected

    Loving the game. No glitches so far. It's fallout in space. No framerate dips. I don't get why ps players are so salty that xbox finally has a game worth playing.

    I fell in love with Starfield. It's my cup of sci-fi and I can't wait to spend the next thirty, fifty, maybe seventy hours here. I enjoy the exploration, the shootouts, the art style, the ship building, and the diverse worlds. I gratefully acknowledge the good optimization and the absence of major bugs. But I can't overlook the flaws. There are bad animations, ugly faces and repetitive moments.[Issue#329]

    In a year dominated by sequels to franchise favorites, there was a hope that Starfield would carve its own path to success. While the team at Bethesda should be commended for taking such a big swing, there’s no denying that the game doesn’t feel like a cohesive work. Maybe continued support and future sequels will make something more meaningful out of a work that is clearly deeply enamored with both science fiction and space exploration. Unforunately, this first launch has had far more mixed results than desired.
