Ehhh it's a mixed bag of gameplay from other games that do it better. And when there isn't bugs the game looks fine, be be warned I had graphical and gameplay bugs on every world i visited. Plus the story is just kinda a rehashing of what we've seen before for a story set between Ep 3 and 4.

The game is passable at best, I really don't understand why people give this game a 10/10 ... unless they are being paid to "review", then I do understand ...everyone has to make a living after all.

Or perhaps it is because it has been so long ago that EA/Lucasarts has released anything remotely enjoyable that we just are all over the moon when something gets released that has a character swinging a lightsaber in it.... who knows?

All I can say is that to me this was not a starwars game... more like Frankenstein monster of a game which stole certain things from other games, but never merged into a whole, making everything feel a bit off.

But let me start with some of the good things, before I rip into it.
I enjoyed some of the platforming, I liked the puzzles, I liked the little droid companion and I liked the alien co-working character and as a matter of fact the entire opening act made me hopeful.
And the first time you deflect a blasterbolt, forcepushed someone of a cliff , or pulled them in to do a single hit kill stab, or stopped time and pushed a rocket back was fun ...

Unfortunately this is where the positivism ends.
After the opening act you get picked up by two NPC's who never at any point resonated with me, the story was uninspiring and we all know the Jedi Order would not be restored, considering the time period this all plays out.

And as you can't skip those cutscenes, you basically have to listen to all the **** all these non-entities spout ... and every time the main character opened his mouth I disliked him just a bit more.

The combat in the beginning is a bit of fun, but as soon as you progress and got more (surprise) enemies to contend with, it becomes a die and repeat grindfest.
Now I gather that this is a mechanic "borrowed" from dark souls or sekura ... thing is if I liked those type of games I would've played those instead of this one.

As for the dying part, I found that I died more often due to clunky controls, camera glitches and those (bliep)-ing slides more than from failing parries or enemy attacks... oh and the fact that it takes too long for you to heal up when you give the command has been a slight annoyance as well.... I mean what is the point of having 6 healing canisters if it takes 2 seconds to heal you up

Gameplay mechanics like upgrades are none existent.
You basically get texture variations, so in the end I didn't bother opening these chests anymore.
Seriously what is the point of offering variations if they don't have any impact on gameplay or stats?
If they cared about cosmetics, why not have a character creation kit in the beginning, so we can play as something different than a poncho wearing whiny red headed millennial.
Maybe different genders or even races with different stats?
At the very least have the main character change his outfit towards the end so he looks like a Jedi knight, to reflect his change of attitude/progression.

I can honestly rip into this game forever, but the real point I am trying to make is that I play games for a story and the choices I make within those stories, however small they may be.
I mean I liked the Witcher 2 because of that and I really was willing to die and did so 50 times by some creature to progress and see how it all played out.

In this game you never become or are a Jedi, you are basically a random schmuck with a glow stick that has to parry attacks from Stormtroopers with surprising good aim... no matter what level you are.
Everything is on rails from story progression, personal development, force powers and skills.

Thing is that due to the fact that this game borrows from other games, it never has an identity of its own and falls short:

If you like die & repeat gameplay , you're better off playing Dark Souls or Sekura
If you like platforming and going to the same place multiple times, you're better of with Metroid Prime.
Want a linear, on the rails great story experience, then play God of War 4, Uncharted or Last of Us.

Because these games are far better on these individual aspects.
Now the fact that you are reading this and browsing other reviews probably means you have already decided to buy this game at some level at least and are just looking for a reason to buy.

And unfortunately I can't stop you ... what I can say to you is that you should wait until you can buy this game for like $20 orso.... again it is not terrible to the point of unplayable, it is just very jarring on multiple fronts , so I would not ever advise anyone to buy this at $60 it is just too mediocre for that.

And I am not saying this with glee, because I really went in hoping to like this game

    - The controls are absolute **** Evade as "Z" on the keyboard? Are you kidding me? For PC users you need to buy the gamepad. Unfortunately, the developers do not send you a free one with a game copy. If they could think for at least a bit more, they could rearrange the controls as a default.
    - The physics are **** Numerous times you gonna fall without catching the rope in the right moment because the character is inches away.
    - Balance. It's a DS game, but even "the Surge" is more balanced. Here even the weakest monsters can kill you just because the sequence of their attacks is more effective than the response of your character to your actions. It happens all the time. After 2-3 hours it becomes annoying.
    - The whole upgrade system is **** What is the reason for using the force if the character cannot use it more than once-twice on the lowest and highest difficulty?

Just don't recommend to buy it. Just watch it on the youtube guys.

I have LOST hours of my life finding my way in the game and it's NO FUN for me. You see, I prefer the plot, the choices, good action and lots of immersion. (I loved Mass Effect 2.) It's not here.
On the plus side: awesome graphics 10/10, surround sound, general Star Wars feeling, which is fine, but I am more of a Star Trek fan. The combat is unforgiving, but fortunately you can change difficulty any time you want. I would give a better rating if the game was shorter and I wouldn't have to waste my life finding my way in the game. At the 5th chapter, when I got to the Jedi temple I got so frustrated that I decided I would watch the rest of the story on YT. It was a good choice.

Which leads into why it's only an 8. It does everything worse then Sekiro. Combat is less refined, less precise, and not as well thought out. Boss fights are terrible and only 1 puts on a good show when nearly all of Sekiro's are great. The open world feels not as well designed and exploring it leads to rewards that are just uninteresting cosmetic clothing options. Combat options like stealth are nonexistent.

This game is a 9/10 star wars game playing like a 6/10 Sekiro copy. But it works and is a very enjoyable game.

Finished my one playthrough on Grandmaster difficulty and Jedi: Fallen Order on Grandmaster is easier than Sekiro if anybody was curious. Enemy damage feels off in Grandmaster with some being too low and others seeming too high. It's clearly not as refined as Sekiro's difficulty. I could easily see large sections of the game being way too easy if you drop the difficulty because it not only reduces their damage and aggressiveness it also gives a big increase to the parry window. If you enjoy the challenge any less than Grandmaster is probably out of the question.

Platforming even if unoriginal was fun and even the puzzles were enjoyable to figure out. And searching for collectibles and lore didnt feel like a chore. However the customization is limited to your poncho and droid (the ship also, but who cares) and the lore pieces are not as extensive and deep as I would like them to be. So you might stop looking for them halfway through the game. I did a 100% run, but if I ever play it again, I will focus only on the main story, I know that for sure. The backtracking however is as annoying as you would expect, I dont understand why sp games still do this.

Playing as one of few surviving jedi after order 66 sounds amazing, the premise is epic. The execution not so much, the story is probably the weakest part of the game, its competent enough and gives reason to the places you visit and things you do, but its not something that would keep me playing if the gameplay wasnt as good as it is. The characters are a mixed bag, some are interesting, but mostly I didnt care. However there are some great moments, mostly to the end of the game. The ending itself made me little mad, but it makes complete sense, it would **** up continuity of the main saga if it ended differently.

Overall this is a very competent AAA game with great gameplay and audiovisuals, but mediocre story and few questionable mechanics, mainly all the backtracking.

I couldn't give the game a 10/10 because there are some puzzles where it is completely impossible to figure out if you're on the right track and often it becomes a matter of luck and not logic that the puzzle is solved.

The controls are fairly comprehensive, but the parrying system is weak and lackluster. There is no sense of weight to the attacks. The best game in recent memory that has a sense of weight and satisfaction to an attack is Batman: Arkham Asylum. For those who've played B:AA, you know exactly what I'm talking about. The attacks in SW:JFO are just too light and feathery and do not match the excellent animation.

Fallen Order is all about the narrative. Discovery and character interaction is king in this game. So if you're looking for non-stop, breakneck action at every turn, this is not the game for you. But if you're looking for a standalone story in the Star Wars universe that tells a tale of a lone Jedi trying to keep the faith, this game and story is for you.

The developer of this game, Respawn, has officially put to rest any doubt from the likes of EA that single player games are dead. Respawn has loudly and proudly affirmed that single player is alive and well by thumping their chests and saying 'Let us show you how it's done!'

Star Wars is back on the menu, boys!

I re-watched Revenge of the Sith again just before starting this game and I just loved how the game continues on a few years after the movie and even connecting with the events of Order 66 and the fall of the Jedi Order.

The story was amazing and continuously had me interested and wanting to see more. The choice of borrowing elements from many games but not simply implementing them but changing them enough to make them their own was a good choice and it worked really well for the game. The environments were so beautiful it was fun to sometimes just look around and explore for no reason other than the view.

I really enjoyed the fact that all of the cosmetics in the game were simply part of it and you very frequently came across boxes for your little friend to check out and give you another cosmetic item for either your ship, lightsaber component, Pancho or skins for your little friend.

The game does have its glitches and loading lag in some areas was very visible. The choice not to have fast travel was nice but on some planets it was just making it very tedious to get back to the ship and I wish more of the discoverable shortcuts will be added in the future to solve that problem.

The choice of borrowing from the dark souls combat style and implementing their own version using the force was brilliant and worked really well. The NPCs were funny, likable and I did end up caring a lot about them.

I hope we will see more of this type of game from Respawn.

Gameplay: The Game is Easy, for someone like me that have completed easily Sekiro, and has a similar gameplay with some differences in power ups, and parry windows, but overall i found the gameplay funny and good for my standards.

Graphic & Performance: Nothing fantastic here, it is quite standard for 2019, problem is the really bad performance drops due to maps loading and physics which is, well, funny, it remembered me of Skyrim, anyway in all the story i found myself trapped inside of textures two times, and was able to excape without exiting fro the game.

Story: It's an original one, with some characters taken from the film's Trilogy, and it's "good", it's enjoyable but nothing special, that', together with performance and graphic led me to the "7" i gave.

To sum up: Easy and funny game, with an enjoyable story, nothing special but surely better than the last SW films. Hope for a sequel, 7/10.

Graphics are impressive and audio is solid. Didn't like all the backtracking even though map is 3D it's still confusing to get back. Story is not really interesting, it's just a reason to fight. Some puzzles and sliding are little bit a chore.. Overall it's solid game, not bad not great.

A very fun experience even if it is a little too familiar. Respawn copies a lot of great games and makes all the different elements fit together well even if they didn't expand on any of the mechanics that they copied. Still this game gets points just for being very fun and not having any annoying things in it.

Pros are level design, gameplay and graphics. On PC with ultra settings some scenes look pretty amazing and showcases how far games have come. Cons are weak writing and bugs. It is a very generic Star Wars plot and you can tell exactly what the story is and whats going to happen within minutes of the opening scenes. The bugs were pretty apparent I bugged out in and out of battles and my game crashed almost every time I booted the game up and played it. In conclusion the game is a solid 7/10 and had potential to be higher if it had been a little more polished. If you are a big Star Wars fan and the thought of a hybrid between Uncharted and Sekiro gameplay sounds interesting to you then this game is a must play. Expand

Dull game play and uninviting boring character models. Feeling like playing Tomb Raider with Light Saber. I prefer to play Tomb Raider but not this one. Except nice environment graphics, rest of the scores are overrated as usual. I'm also fan of Star Wars but realistic one which is rare.

Great game! I have dedicated about 15 hours. I like the mechanics takes from Sekiro, Tomb Raider and Uncharted. Good story for fans of the saga. At the beginning it was difficult for me to get used to the combat system but it has been easy for me over the hours. The best is the end and the soundtrack is magnificent especially for the song "Sugaan Essena". May the Force be with you.

I'm giving this a 10 cause it deserves it. Yes there are some technical issues but they are not game breaking. the story, the characters, the gameplay, the visuals, the soundtrack, everything is flawless in this masterpiece.

Overall, the game is too short. It also overdoes it a bit with the cut scenes. Despite all this, however, it's a good game and I recommend it. But I can't help feeling they should have taken inspiration from the Jedi Knight game's with their fantastic free form combat system, rather than make a Sekiro copy. Expand

The combat looks impressive in demo videos but it's actually pretty mindless and not very deep. Not only do you have limited amount of control over the lightsaber combat but there's a very limited set of force powers on display too. If you came here expecting something like the fluid and dynamic combat in Jedi Academy chances are you'll be disappointed.

Similarly if you were expecting a well written RPG with twists and turns like KOTOR 1 or 2 you'll likely find the game severely lacking here too. There really aren't that many RPG elements, or important choices, at all really. The game plays very linearly and with very limited room to really express your own take on the character and story. Honestly, the last Tomb Raider game had better character customization and more important choices.

So what we're left with is a pretty linear and mindless hack n slash game with a very minimal set of RPG elements and with a pretty formulaic story. The only people who should be impressed by a game like this are those who are so young and impressionable that they yet haven't gotten around to trying Ben & Jerry's.

I will also say that I'm not a fan of the healing system, if you're going to make this kind of mindless middle-of-the-road-take-no-chances kind of game just give it automatic health regen and be done with it. You're not going to make it into Witcher 3 or Dark Souls by having an awkward healing system.

Lastly i will say the average user score for this game is suspiciously high, I suspect EA has been in here meddling.

During combat the camera angles are aweful and too often you end up with the camera showing a wall or floor, not knowing what is going on. Input is unresponsive and often the character won't attack, dodge, parry or use healing when you press the button. Animations have varying distances and timings so you never know if your attack will move you forward 0,5m or 1,5m and last 0,5s or 2s. Sometimes you can parry the enemy, sometimes not (regular attacks, not heavy which cause the enemy to have an outline). Sometimes your blaster bounced laser deals 10% of enemy hp, sometimes 80%. Quite often your character gets stunlocked, where enemy stuns you with a hit and before you recover he hits and stuns you again and so 3-5 times.

Movement is very erratic and often it's hard to jumps straight - your character steers to the side mid jump and you fall. The character often gets stuck on geometry and T-poses.

Locations are badly designed - you often don't know where to go next, where you came from ,where you can / can't go. Enemies often attach you from behind or just after entering a room so you have no way of knowing / countering that and have to take damage. Often you end up using a one way that moves you to the beginning of the level and you're force to waste 20 minutes to get back (no exaggeration here).

Skill system is very basic and lacks any depth - might as well be none.

Save system is annoying and the fact that there are no autosaves or save spots before major encounters, boss fights is annoying. Especially when it forces you to backtrack for 10-15 minutes and/or watch few minute long unskippable cutscenes.

The characters and story is meh - I don't really care for anyone or the 'mission' of the protagonist.

Loot is risiculous - only cosmetics so if you don't care, there is nothing to find in the game.

Pieces of lore are empty and obvious - you find a dead body, inspect it and your character comments "someone died here". O rly?

Wouldn't buy it if it were at a 80% discount.

this game was pretty much terrible for so many reasons! lets start off with gameplay
Gameplay: the gameplay just no shame rips off sekiro: shadows die twice but so much worse as the controls are so unresponsive, on top of that I had trouble with several bosses but that will have have phases of super armor and attack though all of your attacks and then will just ignore a perfect parry as in sekiro most enemies will reward you when you perfect parry them and the parry is extremely responsive, and on top of that I found using anything but the single edge saber is pointless, the double edge lightsaber deals less (even though it should deal the same amount) and the split lightsaber isn't nearly as good as just tapping the strong attack button twice. moving on to the platforming, much of it feels forced and bad like....WHY DO I NEED TO PRESS THE L BUTTON TO CLIMB!? DEVS I AM JUMPING AT A WALL, DO I REALLY HAVE TO CONFIRM THAT I WANT TO CLIMB IT?! and speaking of platforming and copying sekiro, you get the ability to swim in the same manner witch is a thing that is ridiculous to me because one of the first thing jedi's learn how to do is breath control letting them hold there breath for a great deal longer than a average person, the longest you underwater is maybe 2 minutes TWO MINUTES, my grandma with lung problem can hold her breath longer than that! your telling me a full gown ass man jedi can't hold his breath for at least 2 minutes!?
Looks: the best thing is BD-1, cal looks super dumb and on top of that he gets two outfit: small poncho and large dumb dollar store ponchos, lightsaber parts are meh looking
Lore: doesn't really fir with the current cannon, the writers just shoved as much from all the star wars movies and animated series into the game as they could, the whole dumb thing of the list force sensitivity children's names is dumb as hell because the information on it is already old and the kids are probably much older now
the feel: its a jedi game....that doesn't make you feel like a jedi, your powers and saber can interact with practically nothing, worse yet when you hit something with it (a box, tree, jar so on) it just brakes apart, no satisfying lightsable blade sound or scorched marks. there was several points in the game in witch I was like WHY DO I EVEN HAVE A LIGHTSABER IF I CAN'T BURN THINGS WITH IT! as I was stuck in a puzzle that involved burning vines...a super heated blade made of energy....can't burn plants SUPER LAME. and then there is a part in witch you have to go around a crazy long obstacle corse TO GET AROUND A WOODEN BOX....couldn't cut the box, couldn't use the force to lift or move the box. it make me feel like I am playing as a guy who THINKS they are a jedi because they watched star wars episode 1 ONCE and then read a bunch of wiki articles.
Play progression: doesn't really exist, in place of me feeling like I am getting stronger and leaning new lightsaber combos and getting new ways to use my force powers in combat, you get ONE useful move witch a baby could do (the overhead strike witch is one button push) and the better version of that and the rest is kind of garbage, even the extra lightsaber damage you get after you get all your powers back isn't a huge buff, barely noticed it matter of fact, most enemies died in maybe one less hit! and the force powers you get no new ways to use them just powered up versions of them, lets go over them really quick: force slow, dumb power, just gives you one free hit witch is pretty much useless. push: actually really useful as many areas have ledges and pushing dudes off is a quick and easy way to get rid of them. pull: kind of useless, there are one or two enemies that it works well on but it gets interrupted alot. and well that is all of them, pull gets a thing to pull everyone around you right next to you but that is super dumb as most of them will turn on there super armor and beat on you!
in concussion, this game is just a bad and shameless rip off of sekrio: shadows die twice (and I compare it to that and not another souls born because of the similarities, has a main character you play as, is story based, has jumping and platforming, you only get the one weapon to use the whole game and you get new abilities and powers/tools to augment your play style) with a bunch of of stuff from the star wars universe, whoever gave this game a score over 50 is just a boldface lire and was paid to do so

The biggest issue though is the abysmal checkpoint save system, which goes ridiculously too far between checkpoints. I'm not a fan of checkpoint save systems to begin with, but if they are frequent and close together, like in Tomb Raider, they are at least tolerable, although still aggravating and just... why?? In this game the checkpoint saves are far too infrequent though. There is nothing more aggravating that playing for 25 minutes and progressing far through an area with difficult timing puzzles/opponents, with clunky keyboard controls, only to die and respawn back at the beginning, with it all to do all over again. I'm doing my best not to rage quit the game, because the worlds and story are interesting. This save system though.... ugh!

The game does a pretty lousy job of indicating where you need to go next to progress the quest as well. Maybe I'm too used to Witcher 3 and Ghost Recon type games, that give you a good map with trail markers to your quest objective. This game though goes the polar opposite. No direction at all, other than BD-1 sometimes jumping off of you and standing in a spot, indicating you may want to go vaguely in X direction. Way too vague and confusing at times for my liking.

As for the people claiming that it's too easy and boring, I would say that they are clearly boasting for attention, or they need to get a life and spend less time gaming. There is nothing easy about this game. Maybe I'm not as crisp as I used to be, but twas a time when I was top 100 in CS, and I've been gaming for 30 years and played about everything you can think of. I don't suck, and I am struggling with this game. Probably primarily due to the crappy save system.

I don't hate the game, and I want to like it, but this is not a good PC port and it is as aggravating as it is fun as a result.

The level design is the biggest failure here. These levels look pretty, and are well drawn, but are convoluted and poorly thought-out messes, very easy to get lost in, and often without any clear objective to deal with, going for a very cramped, tiny aesthetic with lots of sliding-down-ramps and tomb raider-esque shenanigans. You still have a lightsaber, this magic sword that can cut through anything; but the only things it can cut in these levels are nonhuman opponents and ropes.

If you're a huge fan of tomb raider and thought the Force Unleashed was too over the top and needed a weaker cast of characters, this would be the game for you.

A very satisfying fusion of Sekiro and Tomb Raider with lightsabers. The story is very good within the Star Wars canon. I feel it's EA's best effort in years, and the best Star Wars game since KOTOR 2 or Jedi Academy.

This is my first starwars game but being a soulsbourne fan, I greatly enjoyed this game. Played on GTX 1070 hitting 60fps on EPIC GRAPHICS. EA's Single player campaign without MP Monetization, Music, Gameplay, Graphics are awesome. Story is bit weak but never get bored at anypoint. Must play game of 2019.

I’m glad to say that beyond making a political point this game is also very fun. Lightsaber combat against challenging melee opponents particularly, feels v exciting. I found the first planet, Bogano, a bit frustrating to navigate - but once you start to pick up more force powers and lightsaber skills on Zeffo, things get better rapidly. I have to say the art on Dathomir is absolutely mind blowing, and overall the game looks breathtaking, The fact that all loot is cosmetic (with the exception of max life and force upgrades) is quite infuriating - would be great to add effects to the lightsaber. I don’t know how restrictive the Disney license is (guessing you can’t break from canon and make lightsabers, say, able to set people on fire) but there is definitely room for deeper character and equipment development to bring to life the whole idea of developing into a fully fledged Jedi. The cosmetics are cool - but it’s hard to get excited about cosmetics. Increased damage, speed or defense would be good, bonuses against certain types of enemy - that would all have added a lot to the game.

With new abilities you become able to traverse more types of obstacle - so there is a lot of backtracking. Again - this would be much more incentivised if there was loot worth finding. But it’s still fun. I would have loved to have been able to tinker with the lightsaber more, take it apart, add new crystals or augments - a crafting element that made lightsaber changes more tactile would have been great fun - I think anyone playing Star Wars games finds lightsabers and how they’re put together a major attraction - I have a horrible feeling that this game will be over before it really gets going - I’m on the 4th of 6 planets after 10 hours playing - there’s a good chance that there’s not much game for £55. Still, I’m enjoying it. Update: I’ve now finished the game - it was shorter than expected. But it is such a good story with such fun lightsaber duels that it’s worth it. I hope they make a sequel and it’s about twice the length, with significantly more developed loot mechanics and equipment/character development, more lightsaber duels and interesting bosses - this is definitely a great game, but it feels like they could have made it much deeper -

A very simple script and with sufficiently worked characters; it is not a great story, but it is followed with much interest.

*GAMEPLAY*: Jedi Fallen Order features an easily visible gameplay inspired by Uncharted (exploration) and SoulsBorne (combat and difficulty) that is extremely successful, although some animations might be more elaborate and some moments with many enemies on screen are simply an uninhabitable madness.

*GRAPHICS: Best map design I've seen in years.
Artistically a pass, although graphically it is a little behind the most showy.

*SOUND*: As usual in Star Wars videogames, the soundtrack and special effects are magnificent again.
The Spanish (Spain) dubbing is pretty good.

*INNOVATION*: Jedi Fallen Order is the triumphant return from where Star Wars video games should never have come from. There's still some KOTOR level to see, but they're getting closer.

The skill tree is bland and there is no skill that stands out as "wow I really want that ability because it makes me a god for a bit!"

There is next to no reason to explore. The game is not hard enough to really warrant needing more health stims than 3-4 even on the hardest difficulty and besides that and hp/force increases, all exploration does is reward you with extremely bland cosmetics. No customization of your lightsaber actually has an effect on gameplay.

This is pretty much just Dark Souls combat put on a Star Wars game and people are praising it even though everything else about it is shallow. The story is insanely bland. The characters are insanely bland.

Calling it a metroidvania is extremely disingenuous considering you get like four abilities that allow you to access new areas. If you don't explore this game and are playing on a normal difficulty, it is a 12 hour game max. 20-25 hour game if you for some reason want to get all the cosmetics.

It is pretty pathetic that this game is getting the praise that it is getting. If KOTOR came out today it would be a better game in every respect besides combat and graphics. It is a worse version of Sekiro in literally every way but under the Star Wars banner. The gameplay is nowhere near as fluid as Sekiro/Souls games. The saddest part is that it has potential. More content and character customization that had an effect on gameplay could make this game amazing (and going away from the Skywalker era). It shows that there is slight hope for Star Wars games but it is definitely not a good game. It is an all but empty game that makes you want more in terms of a Star Wars game and all of us Star Wars fans know we will have to wait maybe another 15 years for a game that is on the level of KOTOR.

Lastly, I wanna call out the professional "critics". There is literally no way you could call this game a 9/10 objectively. It is absolutely pathetic and an insult to the gaming industry and every single fan that wants good quality games. You expect these insane reviews from people that should be biased but from actual news sources that should lack bias as much as possible? Actually pathetic and every one of them should come with a disclaimer saying "I was paid to give this a good review" or "I am beyond biased" or "I have literally never played a 10/10 game in my life"

Lets watch it all again!

    The Pros:
    -It's pretty. Very pretty.
-The voice acting is not bad at all. (But the script needs work.)
    -Cute droid.

    The Cons:
-Combat. Challenging sword combat has been done well in the past (see Witcher 3 for example.) But this is just...clumsy. And repetitive. And annoying.
-The story is...a big trite MacGuffin. You will not care about the characters. You will yawn at the ending.
-Repetitive, mindless platforming...is mindless and repetitive. (But pretty. For the first hour.)
-24 hours for a near-completionist first play-through on Jedi Master difficulty is above-average length for an EA snooze fest, but is otherwise pretty pathetic in terms of content. Especially since at least half of that 24 hours was devoted to watching my screen re-load and watching Cal do the same run and jump sequence over and over again. Second play-through? Not likely.

Bottom line: buy it on sale and don't expect much. By no means should you blow $80 on it.

I wasn't convinced at first. The combat system is messy, not all of the gameplay concepts fit well together (the jumping between Soulstroidvania and narrative driven action-adventure can be jarring at times), and the scenario is a fascinating study of how to write some scenes well, some cringe-worthy, and weave an overarching story in such a way that it's hard to say wether it makes any sense or not due to tons of inconsistencies and an unsteady flow.

And yet, at the same time, when the story beats hit, they hit hard. Especially the finale, which made me squeak like a kid watching "Star Wars" in the cinema for the first time. The atmosphere of the movies is captured really well here, and coupled with excellent level design, made me want to return to the game day after day.

Even the combat itself, once you level up your character (which makes the flaws less noticeable), is pure bliss. I give the game a golden medal for some of the best lightsaber duels ever put in games, Souls-like combat fits here perfectly, and creates a wonderful sense of progression from a weak, pushover padawan into a full-blown Jedi knight who is a force to be reckoned with. It's a shame those beautiful, meandering levels don't hide bonus Inquisitor duels. It's also a shame virtually all of the loot is visual only and the character progression is strictly linear, but hey, let's leave something for the sequels to improve upon, eh? Even without those things I 100% cleared some locations, which is a rarity.

Overall, let's say the game's a 7,5 but I'll gladly add half a point just for introducing Mongolian metal into Star Wars canon alone. Yes, that really happened and it is badass. Also, the story is surprisingly ambitious, even if flawed a lot of the time. Fallen Order is in the category of titles that have serious issues, but the amount of heart, passion and ambition poured into them makes a lasting impression, one much bigger than many better but less distinct games out there. It is also one sequel away from greatness, and I can't wait for it. Especially considering that I really did grow to like the game's cast. Yes, even Ms. Wolfenjedistein with a gaze such terrifying she can disintegrate you with it alone and who totally feels like a character from a different franchise.

By the way, it doesn't stop to amuse me how awkward Respawn can be at handling inter-human relationships, but how well do they tackle human-robot ones. BD-1 easily steals the spotlight and deserves a top 3 droids spot in Star Wars canon, right next to R2D2 and C-3PO. And I won't let anyone convince me otherwise!

and i'm not talking about difficulty level, i'm fine with higher difficulty levels, as long as it still manages to make you feel powerful (in a SW game, specially).
i almost can't believe this game is licensed. Alright, there are lightsabers, and some clones, but you'll mostly fight against wildlife. and none of this wildlife was known nor 'star-wars-like' to me. i honestly didn't buy the idea of being in a SW game. it felt like a poorly copied sekiro with a lightsaber mod. And plotwise i have mixed feelings, not terrible, not great either. it seems rushed. Like, 'let's finish it up, guys, we gotta launch this before the next movie and mandalorian series'.
it's not like it's the worst game ever, but it did disappointed me a lot.
it is cool to deflect blasts with the saber, its cool to force push/pull some enemies (even tho Control made me feel more like a jedi than this game, freaking CONTROL, a FBI-ish-action-with-monsters-third-person-shooter) and some lightsaber duels were really great, specially the ninth sister battle, but it failed miserably to deliver those I'MA FREACKING BADASS JEDI that i (always) wanted.
even by the end of the game you'll feel weak, slow, you dont jump high, you have a disgusting FORCE METER, WTF?, you cant even defeat one clonetrooper with a taserstick without getting hit, imagine more than one, plus a bunch of poison spitting spiders. frustrating as hell.
if they had to copy a fightstyle from another game, i wish it had been the spider-man/arkhan batman/freaking middle earth shadow of war, etc.

Even some unfair enemies if you play in harder difficulties... Some enemies dont look to be there to guard an area, but seem to be waiting specifically for you and placed so that is hard for you to reach them ... In short... The devs seem to try their hard so that you dont feel like a jedi. So bad for a game with so much potential.
Apart from that, the game has cool tense moments, awesome music, great acting and voicing... basically all the other not-so-important parts of the game are great.

Great level design (Metroidvania style), incredible combat system and atmosphere. Basically it is a mix of Sekiro (Combat), Uncharted (Platforming), and the Jedi Knight II Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy (force powers).

You will really feel that you are Jedi.

While the satisfying combat this game offers might be a good thing to balance the scales, playing this game on the upper difficulties is a masochistic undertaking, as it sports quite a noticeable artificial difficulty catered to make the combat unfair to the player, even at lower settings. Looks like the only reason this game gets such a prise is becose its first single player Star Wars game in decade. The fighiting is poor and buggy, terrain unfinished, no stelth, At times it plays like alfa of Tomb Rider with light saber.

Forces you to play a basic tutorial.
    Pop in w/ camera changes.
TAA forced by default [makes it blurry + ghosting], dynamic res causes stuttering, most of the graphics are bad. The voice acting is bad, the squeeker protaginist is so annoying and I hate the constant talking to himself. Combat is clunky, enemies cant follow you outside of their 10ft spawn zone. Dark Souls knock off.

Fallen Order is a must have for Star Wars fans and the best Star Wars game in years. Both literally and figuratively: the Force is strong with this one. [01/2020, p.42]

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order gives its best on PC, delivering an awesome experience in 4K and 60 frames per second with advanced visual effects.
