Good game

    VISUALS
the visuals are stunning I love how this game looks, they translated characters from clone wars to this game well.

    COMBAT
The combat is frustrating. You have to block and dodge like 4 people while trying to focus on one enemy. you get hit multiple times and die. even if you win you don't heal, and will likely die very soon after that. And with there being so few saves during the mission, you must travel to the same place over, and over, and over again. And the AI is very dumb and only has a certain radius before being reset.

    CONTROLS
You can tell that this game was not meant for the PC. Pc controls are just outrageously bad. If you connect a controller they are tolerable, but all in all mediocre.

    STORY
the story ties in really well with clone wars, rebels, and revenge of the sith, and does decently well on its own. the characters are....alright.

    MOVEMENT
this may not be a regular subject but I just had to bring this to attention. Cal, the character you play feels SO SLOW. when he runs, climbs, rolls, gets up,crawls, squeezes through spaces. He just isn't exciting to play as.

    WORTH THE PRICE?
no, it is not worth its price...now. I say if you bump the price down to at most 35, it would be worth it. And don't even think about getting the deluxe edition unless it's on sale for below $20. It's just cosmetics.

    ALL IN ALL
it's a pretty good-looking game with a great story, just needs fixing with the game mechanics...

The voice acting is overall great, with the weak point being the main character, and the facial capture/animations are outstanding. The nuance of facial and body language really stands out, perhaps better than any other game in my recent memory save RDR2.

The dialogue and writing, however, are painful. Sometimes it's just bad, other times it seems clear the game was cut down from something more ambitious. There are dialogue exchanges where the characters are making reference to something you've never been introduced to, and maybe you'll get a small journal entry later to halfway fill you in.

The combat mechanics are clunky and stamina drains way, way too fast. The game is more enjoyable on lower difficulty simply for the lack of want to throw something at the screen. It feels like the game doesn't respect it's own rules and is meant to be punishing whether you play correctly or not. This misses the point of a souls-like to me, which is the satisfaction that comes from mastering combat.

The platforming and puzzles didn't cause issues for me, and provided a nice change of pace without being overbearing.

The story. Ugh. So, so bad. Your whole quest is meaningless, but this was pre-ordained because they tried to go in a direction that the films wouldn't have supported. I won't say more to avoid spoilers, just that the ending was a huge let down. And cheesy. But this falls into the early note about the writing. It's truly painful.

Overall, it's a decent SW game and a welcome return to playing as a Jedi in a single-player game (but for real, grow a pair and bring back dismemberment LucasArts). Satisfied that I finally got around to playing it. Can't say I'll ever play it again or recommend it to anyone though.

Love the game although hate the map. Can't stress more how you can create such a fine title with sucha a bad navigation system. Should have some kind of Fast Travel options or at least waypoint setting. Could have finished it 3 hrs earlier if it wasn't for being lost due to the f*ing map :( In overall I recommend the game but you will have a lot of hate towards the map. Trust me

    Cons:
-Runs like **** with constant frame drops and stuttering even on good machines regardless of settings.
    -Mediocre, janky combat.
-Bad, janky platforming and lots of it.
-Lack of player choice or any real customization game play wise or cosmetically.
-Horrible collectible system. No I don't need a 15th poncho skin.
-Lack of force powers. You only get push, pull, and slow and you can use 3 or 4 force powers before your meter is drained and until you get the stim restore ability near the end of the game it's basically impossible to get back. I hope you like mashing X because that's the only thing you can do without force.

Mediocre combat, platforming, exploration, and a near lack of anything RPG wise to make up for that makes this a bland and boring experience. It feels like a half-baked, made-by-committee game. Essentially it's Dark Souls Uncharted, but Star Wars and bad. The game might be worth $10 if you really love Star Wars or mediocre action adventure games.

The lootboxes throughout every level contained only cosmetic items and not items of real substance. I would really love to find also gear upgrades and special items....Another minor critic is that I found myself losing lots of time only because I was searching for Mantis. It would be very helpful if there were more shortcuts in the level but no fast travel! Keep it like this!

I also wanted the game not to end and was a bit disappointed because there were no more planets to explore! A personal wish would also be to bring even more exploration to the mix into fallen order 2 and less fighting.

There's only 3 force powers but I enjoyed using using them, I thought the combat was very good and very, very challenging to the point I died many, many times in boss fights and got such a sense of achievement when I finally won the fights. The puzzles were also good and challenging, just an all around great game.

    Pros:
    - Graphics: Amazing; especially getting parkour feeling from the scratch in Bracca
    - Battle System: Similar to DMC - but more realistic
    - Worlds: Maybe the big point of the game; e.g. scary surrounings @ Dathomir and best snow world @ Ilum
    - Difficulty: I like games like Fallen Order where you easily can change the difficulty: using map at every point or walk-through like there is no map. In Fallen Order the battles are not challenging but finding everything without help can be.

The biggest weakness of the game in my opinion is the short story: not in quantity (25 hours playing is fine) but in terms of content (Padawan is hidden and find some jedi names :-)

I made an account just for this game.

In short, this game is garbage. I run a RTX3070 and yet it manages to stutter all the time, moreso than Cyberpunk if that was even possible. It's a complete buggy mess with gamebreaking bugs that force you to restart your whole game, even a year later with "patches". Don't buy this game, there are multiple other games to spend your money on.

I didn’t play this game until 2021 because I assumed it would suck because every Star Wars related since Disney took over has been an disaster, but this game is different in every way. We have: Intresting characters, interesting story, the maps really feels like Star Wars and the parkour but is extremely satisfying. The ability to travel to whichever planet you like and explore it and find a lot of different collectibles is very nice. The game controls very good and the lightsaber mechanism is on point. I am so surpriseiny passionate about this game and I love it to bits, I would recommend this game even if you’re not a Star Wars fan. My final review is 10/10.

Don’t listen to all the peasants that gives this game a 5/10 “decent game”. This is the best Star Wars game ever made, it’s better than the old force unleashed games, the Lego games and the old battlefront games COMBINED. The parkour in the game is like uncharted, and the combat is like dark souls, except it’s Star Wars, and just hearing that should make up your mind to go buy this RIGHT NOW 40 euros is very much worth it.

Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order is a Soulslike Metriodvania action game. You play as Kal Kestis, a former Padawan (Jedi apprentice) who has been in hiding from the despotic Galactic Empire for years. When he is forced to use his psychic Force powers to save the life of a coworker, he is pursued by the Imperial Inquisitors, only to be rescued by a couple of rebels with the goal of resurrecting the Jedi Order. To do so, they must acquire a Jedi holocron, a device that contains a list of Force-sensitive children who could be recruited and trained into Jedi. But before they can forge a new future, the remnants of the Jedi order must first face the past.

The plot of this game is nicely self-contained, but also suffers from a significant flaw - this game is set between the prequels and the original trilogy, so anyone who has seen the movies knows that they will fail in their quest to resurrect the Jedi Order. Worse, the game itself deliberately turns itself into a shaggy dog story in many ways, with a character who joins your crew later in the game outright stating that if the characters hadn't even bothered trying with their main quest that things arguably would have gone better, and it is hard to disagree with them, at least as far as their main objective goes.

That said, the characters themselves do undergo some development, most notably the two Jedi, both of whom are still dealing with the trauma of the destruction of the Jedi Order and their personal guilt in not being able to protect those closest to them. Sadly, two of the other cast members don't really undergo much meaningful development – one simply opening up a little bit, but not really getting a ton of development beyond “he used to gamble but he’s better now” – while the last one only shows up very near to the end.

Gameplay wise, the core combat works quite well. Kal has a reasonable set of telekinetic and combat-based Force powers that expand over time, and while they are rather simple they work well enough in the Metroidvania style and are mostly satisfying to use on enemies. Slowing down enemies, grabbing them with your Force powers, shoving them off ledges, making fancy attacks with your lightsaber – these all are fairly standard, but they work well enough, and you can pull or push environmental objects or slow down rapidly moving things to enable traversal.

Ironically, the game's biggest letdown is the lightsaber itself. While there is some nice variety in the swings and the animations are solid, the actual fighting with it feels wimpy. In the movies, these are deadly weapons, but in the game, it is basically just a normal video game sword. The hits with it don't really give that deadly destructive feel, and the death animations greatly downplay the whole "chopping people up" aspect (though the kills on some animals do feature bifurcation and similar). Most enemies can take multiple shots, and while the whole beam ricochet thing remains, a lot of the actual attacks with it feel lackluster. It also doesn’t do the cool sort of environmental destruction that you see in the movies, like using it to cut through or melt doors – while the swipes will inconsistently leave molten material on the walls in the place of standard “cuts”, there’s no environmental destruction, and your lightsaber will periodically clip through objects and do nothing.

That said, it does work well enough from a mechanical point of view, at least at first.

This gets into the other problem with the game: repetition.

You go to almost all of the planets you visit at least twice due to backtracking during the plot, and probably three times to collect everything and explore some of the areas you couldn’t get to before. The planets are neat enough the first time, but they often don’t have as much new to show you the second time through, and the Imperial troops that show up everywhere, while having some diversity (there’s 16 imperial enemy types, though some are just stronger versions of weaker ones), do end up being a bit repetitive by the end, as the game doesn’t really have enough tricks to throw at you.

The same applies to the terrain – while it looks different outwardly, it ends up following a small number of tropes over and over, making the exploration feel a bit less exciting once you realize it is mostly the same thing, albeit with attractive skins. The first few worlds feel fairly fresh, but by the time you get to the Wookie planet of Kashyyyk, you’ve seen almost all of what the game has to show you. It doesn’t help that most of the Metroidvania-esque upgrades aren’t particularly interesting environmentally outside of a small number of simple puzzle rooms.

It doesn't help that there's no fast travel.

Overall, If you are in the market for a Star Wars game where you play as a Jedi, this is likely something you’ll enjoy, but it is decent, not amazing.

I loved the game in the beginning. Visually attractive, quite well captured Star Wars atmosphere, but then it lost it's appeal - too much jumping and running, only minor RPG elements, pale main charakter, the story didn't take off unitl the end, when it improved. Visually: sometimes quite astonishing / great, sometimes only medicore. A plus are the low hardware requirements.

Story is fine, graphics are nice but the game just isn't fun to me. The game copies from many other games but does nothing as well from the games it's copying. Combat leaves a lot to be desired and the checkpoint system can be frustrating at times. I can see why people like it but the mediocre combat, combined with jumping and sliding all the time just doesn't do it for me.

You've probably heard this many times by now, but Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is very similar to the Dark Souls series. You can't just hack and slash the enemies, you need to dodge and block them. Instead of attiributes, you have skill points for a skill tree, but other than that, it's pretty much the same system as Dark Souls. Instead of bonfires you have meditation spots. Saving the game replenishes your character but it also respawns the enemies. If you die, you lose your experience unless you hit the enemy that killed you.

However, while I'm a Dark Souls fan, I wasn't in the mood for difficulty, so I played it on story mode. So I won't talk about the difficulty. I wanted a game with a good story and cool gameplay that makes me feel like a Jedi. And I can happily say that Fallen Order is a satisfying game. It looks great and it makes you feel like a Jedi. It's very satisfying to swing your lightsaber and use your Force powers. Grabbing an enemy with Force pull from far away and pulling him towards you, and then stabbing him with your lightsaber is **** awesome. Or Force pushing a group of enemies off a cliff. Or using Force push to send back enemy rocket missiles and blowing them up. Customizing your lightsaber and looks is fairly fun. You can unlock more cosmetic options by exploring, this is a game with a LOT of secrets. I liked all the characters. The story is very good and it has a lot of twists. The enemies are varied. There's a good sense of progression as you unlock more abilities and upgrade your robot companion, which allows you to reach and explore new areas.

Now let's talk about the not so great stuff. This is not exactly a bad thing, but this game is mostly platforming. Jumping, climbing, walking on walls, swinging on ropes, sliding. The game consists of 70% platforming, 25% fighting and 5% story cutscenes. The maps are NONLINEAR and unique with lots of ways to go. But the downside is that once you finish the mission on a planet, it can be difficult finding your way back to the ship. You can't fast travel or teleport. And sometimes the map changes and you can't go back the way you came. I actually had to Google how to get back to my ship a couple of times. And this problem also hindered my desire to revisit old planets after aqcuiring new abilities that let me explore new areas because navigating the maps was a pain in the ass. I also had some glitches with the sliding that killed me a lot of times. But I played on an easy difficulty, so it didn't matter much.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is a fun game. It makes you feel like a cool Jedi, and t has a good story and cool gameplay.

In general the game is a platform genre game, where you have times where you have to look around the map to see how do you have to get to the next area, but nothing difficult in general, but a few puzzles takes some time to resolve.
There are also lots of fights, that are well executed. The "normal" fights against a vast variety of stormptroopers and creatures are difficult enough to make them entertraining. You have also abilities you learn through out the game by a level buying system (idk how its called). The boss fights will take your time. They are hard and you will have to learn through a lot of tries how to beat your enemy. Patience is your friend.

The levels/planets takes their time to be completed, and at all moments you feel like you are really in a Star Wars adventure movie. They made an excellent ambientation, and the levels are well designed in my opinion. All of them are quiet unique. Graphically, this game is beautiful.

The history isn't any less than the gameplay in general. It's the best part of the game for the game, and thats a lot to say taking in count the gameplay it has. I enjoyed it from beggining to end.

This game is both disappointing and somehow at the same time managed to exceed everyones expectations. I think the latter achievement can be explained by the fact that nobody expected an EA published Star Wars game in 2020 to not be an incompetent cash grab. That it isn't.

I still feel like this game could've been so much more. The graphics are its best quality, stunning in places. The performance of the game and the technical aspects leave a lot to be desired however. The game, to this day, does not run very well even on extremely modern hardware (in my case, a 3080). This is forgivable however, because the game is far far away from being unplayable.

It's very playable, and at times can be a challenging and satisfying experience. That being said, the problem lies with how safe it all feels. The game doesn't really manage to do anything all that original, and has quite obviously taken a lot of inspiration from other game formula that are already tried and tested and proven to work. This isnt inherently a bad thing, in fact, i attribute this to be the main reason the game isn't a failure.

While the game is made better by its copied ideas and gameplay loop, it also ends up feeling extremely safe because of it. The game does absolutely nothing in the way of breaking new ground or creating an original experience. It suffers because of this.

So while the inspirations the devs have taken into account when designing the game certainly help keep it from being a bad game, they also are its biggest problem. Technically, this game is better on almost every level when compared to The Force Unleashed, yet, i had more fun playing through TFU. This game has far more depth than TFU, and yet i was more interested in the main character in the latter game.

This is telling of how safe this game has played it. Where TFU was extremely experimental and arguably unfinished in places, it was also extremely fun and succeeded in fulfilling the power fantasy a lot more than Fallen Order has.

"Playing it safe" applies to Fallen Order in more ways than just game design. Although it may seem like a small detail, the lack of dismemberment in the game is extremely revealing and telling of just how safe this game needed to be. It shows that the creators of the game are willing to sacrifice something that has been part of the franchise and something that is logical, just to achieve a wider audience. They chose to hurt the gameplay just for more sales. This sucks.

Again, the dismemberment point is seemingly small and inconsequential to some people, but when you consider it in the grand scheme of things, it becomes a much bigger problem than when taken at face value. The power fantasy is suddenly extremely damaged, lightsaber feels like you're beating people with a powerful stick rather than a white hot futuristic weapon. There are more domino effects that come of this safe decision. I wont get into them here.

After TFU, the force powers here feel extremely underwhelming and while i understand that TFU is no longer canon and was definitely OTT, i feel like Fallen Order could definitely have had a little more fun with its force powers.

In conclusion, all of this adds up to a very competent and deliberate package. A laser precise design, crafted to be experienced just how they want you to experience it.

I could go on for hours about how safe every aspect of the game is, up until the end when something actually fun and cool finally happens. But ive already written enough..

Safe is the best word i can think of when describing the game, and its the one i will stick with.

    Safe/10

The tombs in this game are as good if not better than those in Tomb Raider, and the story had me searching on Google to learn more of the Star Wars backstory because I wanted to learn more, not because I had to. The story is enhanced if you are playing this while consuming other Star Wars content, and I would say this is a must play for anyone who is a fan of the series. The ending of this game is great and has moments equally as enthralling as the beginning.

The mechanics are mostly enjoyable, if a bit inconsistent which lead to moments of frustration due to the mechanics not acting as they should. This is where the game loses a point for me.

Respawn developed Fallen Order to be an interactive Star Wars movie. The story is top-notch and you really feel the heart and soul that was put into providing a cinematic experience. The environments are visually stunning and constantly tempt you into taking in the sights. Taking inspiration from Metroid Prime, the map was built to promote exploration with strategically placed secrets. Every little bit of the world was custom-made to offer a unique experience, so you get rewarded for venturing off the beaten path. The combat is also Souls-like and balanced just right to offer a familiarly satisfying challenge while not being too punishing.

Aside from the occasionally poor load times, strange AI quirks, and chests not being particularly meaningful, there aren't many major complaints to make about the game. The immersive atmosphere easily makes you forgive any shortfalls it has. Play and experience it for yourself. Considering how most video games these days are mediocre cash grabs, Fallen Order has truly been a breath of fresh air. Score-wise, I knocked one point off for the game's imperfections and slightly lacking late-game, but that is me strictly nitpicking. I imagine many wouldn't hesitate to give it a 10/10.

Levels are poorly designed and have no logical sense to them. Am I supposed to believe in this world? it's not a living breathing SW universe. it's a bunch of standalone levels with some platforming , puzzles and combat.

Story. Lazy writing right from the start. silly characters with silly dialog and no depth. it's filled with excuses.

There's a lot to discover via the in-game wiki thing which is more laziness. instead of actually having content in the game you read about most of it.

They have tried to take what they think makes Souls-like games great, combine it with a loot, puzzles and that SW magic and hoped it would make a great game. it didn't.

I could forgive the obviously bad level design, that makes no sense if this was an actual universe, if the story was brilliant but nothing in this game is exceptional.

It should have been better. SW fans deserve better but sadly things are getting worse.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Wow, EA managed to make a decent game, it wasn't that hard, right EA?

Constant freezes during the start of most cutscenes. One hour the game crashed so badly, that I had to restart it because the screen did not thaw. This is a problem with the game that has existed since its launch and even after playing after 1 year (11/14/2020), it is still 100% present. In addition to several bugs (I expected a lot more actually). And I still had 1 crash.

The story has some interesting aspects, but in general I didn't like it very much. I liked her plot, but the way it develops is kind of bad. The prologue is cool. Then the story takes a boring turn. Until I reach the part that has the light twist of Cere Junda's padawan, then the story goes on more or less. And the ending was very good. Cal's development (with his master), his interaction with Trilla and Cere's sub-involvement generated some interesting parts. Cal was developed, but for me it was very fast, he was from a crybaby (when the crystal breaks), to a respectful Jedi in a snap. The part of the game that occurs when Cal opens the 'safe' to get the holocron (from the future and the dark side) is very good, her direction is very interesting.

The combat I thought was a little too simple, consequently this leaves the skill tree to be desired. A mix of Sekiro, Dark Souls and some elements of God of War. Especially in the boss fights, the guys were very inspired by Sekiro. The submissions and their diversity are both reasonable, except for one detail: when you unlock the double lightsaber, Cal simply closes it and makes the same submissions, very lazy. The double sabers had their potential harmed, since there is no 'style of their own', only a few combos. I scored on the Jedi Master (Hard) difficulty and I liked the challenges in general in spite of certain things that were unbalanced.

The climbing system has some defects, to jump on a curved surface Cal jumps out and having to press the button to hold on is totally unnecessary.

The relationship of the 3 companions was very weak. And Nightsister Merrin didn’t have much time to develop so I don’t blame the script, but the way it went with us was convincing.

The graphics are good. The game design is very neat. Very good level design too. The game is fraught with technical problems. When he is running well, everything is great but out of nowhere he gives some absurd frozen. The animation of opening chests under water does not make sense. Finished the budget with the physics of Cal's hair, at least it was pretty cool.

I will have to praise something that is very common for most games but not for EA, the game is full of free cosmetics. Although I find all the poncho ugly except the standard jacket there, the customization of the lightsaber pays off.

Large loadigs even on the PC.

Honestly it is difficult to recommend this game with the constant freezes, maybe it is worth the wait, but if you just want to feel like a bad Jedi and go for the gameplay feel free.

At the beginning i thought its a cheap uncharted/souls recycle. But when the story evolved i started to like the game over all. Its a well done recycle, with a good Star Wars story. Definitely worth on sale.

    It is great.

Beautiful graphics, fun parrydodge combat system (similar to DS and sikiro). I liked the puzzles, some of them reminded of dead space, tomb raider. Certainly there are some things that are stupid. I got no idea why the game sends me to (for example) Dathamir and I can't finish the place because I ain't got the certain skill. Yeah, I got the double-edge saber for half-finishing the planet, but I felt stupid.
Some of check point are placed in a very idiotic way, for example, you meditate and you go to a big elevator which descends like 2 minutes and then u got a little fight where you can die and after that there is a jumping challenge -- and if you die you have to use this slow elevator again.

But the game is still great, I enjoy almost every moment of it.

in a Star Wars universe a kind of FPS where there is lots of back and forth to acquire skills and kill things, rinse and repeat. It's like being on a rollercoaster and that's it. In this situation, the appearance, music and ambience are pretty much irrelevant. Not awful, but not good either.

    SOMETHING IN BETWEEN:
/ Combat is mediocre at best. I was thrilled by those 'Souls-like' tags which were really misleading. Yes, the combat can be challenging if playing on highest difficulty. No, there's nothing more soulsike in this game. The very essence of Souls-games, character building, is missing completely. Also some of the enemies are a tad hard to read and their attack animations a bit weird.

    CONS:
    - Story was kinda boring and very predictable. I barely attached to any of the characters.
    - Performance issues

I hadn't experienced any good Star Wars game since The Knights of the Old Republic 1 & 2 and this seemed to have some serious potential. Especially after seeing it's gameplay being described as 'Souls-like' I was really hyped. Sadly it failed to deliver and it turned out to be more Tomb Raider than Dark Souls. Souls-likedness was really far fetched in my opinion, as the only thing even relatively close to Souls were the challenging combat. The very essence of Souls-games, the character building, was missing completely. Yeah, you do earn experience from combat which you'll use to unlock new abilities for combat. You'll end up unlocking them all by the end of the game though, so there's literally no different builds to play with. Also all the loot in the game is cosmetic which you'll barely even see (lightsaber hilt, your droid and your ship). Like really?

Game wasn't all around bad as it had really gorgeous graphics. On the downside the game had some random performance issues even after tinkering with my graphics settings for quite a while. Also the music was brilliant, which together with the great visuals really set up the good atmosphere for a Star Wars game.

I don't even have too much to say about the story. It was mediocre and very predictable. I could tell how the story is gonna end even before entering the final area. Also I hardly attached to any of the characters.

For me this game felt like it was wasted potential. Don't get me wrong, I did enjoy it but I think it could've been miles better if they took a different approach in designing this game. Don't pay the full price. This might appeal to you if you're a fan of the SW universe or if you like Tomb Raider -like cinematic games with little emphasis on depth of the gameplay. I might need to re-play Knights of the Old Republic to get my fix of a great Star Wars -game.

I really loved Jedi Outcast/Academy and KOTOR1-2 and what I hoped for is something of a mix of these two taken further. The TPS element with complex lightsaber duels and constant force use driving the game with a deep RPG story behind. And to be fair you can find elements from both games here (mostly from Outcast/Academy though).
The other thing: I had a hard time getting drawn into it. There was a point around the end when I felt immersion, but I wanted that for the entire time...

This feels Tomb Raider and Shadow of Mordor-y, and while it is not bad, there is zero risk taken. The progression system is a simple dumbed down skill tree, anything you find in the world is just cosmetic, it is a huge let down for me... (Just imagine if you could find elements of your lightsaber which you could assemble and have various effects on your damage? oh boy... and this is just one thing.)

Don't get me wrong, this is not a bad game, the world you see around you is so large and expertly and beautifully crafted, if you are into Tomb Raider and Shadow of Mordor then you will probably love the gameplay. I love those games too, but if I want that, I just go and play those games.

What I wanted is engaging lightsaber duels with a more complex system and an RPG story with interesting items to find and buy and sell, have a few deep companion stories to discover, whiile keeping up with the times with these great visuals and levels which we do see here.

I remember in Jedi Outcast I did savegames for every encounter when I had a lightsaber duel, small or large, and once I just went to play those moments one by one. Although you had some TR elements in JO they were not that pronounced (I still remember when you had to finally get your lightsaber how many hoops you had to jump to get there and I was like JUST F***IN GIVE IT TO ME ALREADY! :D. It was full of emotion. I felt no emotion in this game...)

Finally the multiplayer in JO and JA... We have spent countless hours in there doing lightsaber duels or just hanging around watching others, it was a complete blast! I miss that too...

So yeah, I hope that if this game gets a sequel it will be more in that direction, but honestly I doubt it... While games like this sell, why would anyone want to be adventurous?

Pain in the ass startup time. Even on an SSD the startup times and checkpoint loading times are frustratingly long. There are also long elevator rides where you're just standing there for 30 seconds...

Do not like the checkpoint/save method. It's tedious. The boxes take annoying long to open. His repetitive speech to his robot companion is annoying.

In most fights you can't attack, block, and dodge quick enough. Your character is extremely slow to respond. Trying to make up for those deficits by using the force isn't viable or enjoyable. You're supposed to be a Jedi, yet your character is slower than a normal person. You can hit all the right buttons but it seems like a majority of the time they don't result in your character taking the corresponding action, and you just have to sit there and roll your eyes while he dies and you have to do it all over again. Because of this, I highly recommend using a trainer with this game - even just for unlimited force.

Even then I came across an enemy that is designed to be defeated by the force, and which I previously defeated many times, yet this time for some reason is totally immune.

Also, you can't interrupt most enemy attacks by hitting them, but they can interrupt yours by hitting you.

Very glad they have a variety of difficulty levels to choose from, which includes making blocking timings less important. But even on the lower difficulties they still have annoying bosses that take forever to kill, where you pretty much get one attack and then have to dodge 3-4 attacks/times, attack once, dodge 3-4 times, repeat 10+ times till the boss is dead. That's so annoying.

There are some areas where only a really specific and precise movement combination will get you past the point. But it can be so ambiguous and exact that it can leave you confused about what you're even supposed to do, and thus have to look up a playthrough to watch what you're supposed to do.

I like the general movement idea. It's similar to Titanfall 2, and some other games. Just worse implementation.

They did a pretty good job with the map. Though it can get overwhelming once you explore enough of it. Also, it's the type of game where there are places and things you can't access till later on, and you have to remember where they are because they're not marked on your map. That's terrible IMO. You also can't open your map when underwater, so you have to constantly get to the surface/land then back down again. Or just not explore underwater.

You have to run back through the same areas multiple times, and even though some shortcuts are opened afterwards they're not short enough. Also, there are nonobvious triggers, such as stepping onto an elevator, that unlock shortcuts. And if you don't know about that particular unlock then you have to travel back a super long way when you revisit the area. Due to this issue, and others that I've listed, I find it necessary to use a video walkthrough for this game, which I really don't like, since it breaks immersion.

There are many times where something seems like it's not doable or not meant to be done yet, but there actually is a very esoteric method of doing it that you would have to watch a playthrough to learn how.

It seems to be designed around console/controller use. Even though it's playable with KB&M there are still a few annoying and unpolished things, including the mouse movement and menu.

There are times where you have to grab things and accurately throw them long distances, yet it give you no way to aim them. So you have to do it over and over every time. Sometimes it's part of a puzzle, which makes it even worse, since you have to try something a dozen times just to see if it's what you're supposed to do or not. Then it might turn out in the end that it was only to unlock some useless skin.

There are so many instances where the mechanics of the game simply don't work. IE: you're supposed to pull a rope toward you to swing on, but it just doesn't work, and you fall to your death. Your character is supposed to grab onto a ledge, but doesn't, and you fall down a level and have to run all the way back. You press a "use the force" button and it does nothing. You slow an enemy, get behind them, then attack them and they still hit you. You're pressing a key to do whatever, but it doesn't register.

Graphics to FPS cost ratio isn't great. There's something similar to a fog that degrades the visuals.

Bizarrely, and seemingly incredibly lazily, they only have people voice the first few sentences of things, and then make you read the rest. And even then, you can't simply listen to the first part and read the 2nd part because the option to open the text is timed, so by the time the voice is done the option will be gone.

As you play through, the game starts out pretty interesting, introducing new and interesting characters and some famous faces of great actors to boot. Sadly though, as soon as they appear they are gone, leaving holes in the game and you end up wondering what was the point...The cynic knows the answer to this and that is the point was to be able to put them in the trailer for the game...
Then the ideas run out...the game is padded out by Tombraider/Uncharted/Assassins Creed-esque climbing and platforming around a limited number of predefined levels across 4 different planets (5 if you include the short final level. One planet is so not Star Wars that you wonder what game you're playing! And some of the interesting characters you enroll on your journey are not used in the game and relegated to just mere cameos.
Just as the story is getting good again ...Bam! it's over so abruptly that you watch the credits roll in disbelief.
Game mechanics are ok, a bit too binary and not as smooth as Assasins Creed or Horizon Zero Dawn but passable all the same. Camera angles can be sloppy but it's not often and the animations are average except the lightsaber fighting which is EXCELLENT!
Overall, you are left with the same old feeling that EA directed the studio to make a game on the cheap, "but must look great on trailers and the first hour must be good for early reviewers".
The game is ultimately shallow, a waste of the IP and the assets that a Star Wars license provides. 5/10

What I can't put up with is the inability to climb over a pipe that is running along teh floor, whilst able to climb on crates and oddly shaped exploded cannisters. there is nothing behind teh pipe even, but for some arbitrary reason there is an invisible wall. it just gets worse the more i play it, with such bizarre things as this, and other things.
I've just about had it with going to the planet choice screen and accidentally opening the map of the planet, because woe betide they put that on the actual map button. the one that isn't being used for anything in that particular screen.
I come across a broken door deep into a dungeon and I miraculously gain the ability to smash it open, but for some reason, I have passed dozens of the exact same broken door and nothing happened. I pass multiple little statues and yet when it comes to one particular statue, all of a sudden BD thinks this one is of note, even though it really isn't.

There is no rhyme or reason to any of the 'design' decisions in this game and i can't take it any longer.

I'm fed up of the game showing me a place I can go and then punishing me for it, showing me pointless stuff that has literally no semantic value, giving me pointless 'skins' for a lightsaber that is so small on the screen I can't even see the skins on it.

The only problem is a bit of performance issues, it commonly freezes to load new zones of the map. Not game breaking, it can be easily overlooked, but still shouldn't have this kind of issues.
