    Solid game with improvement in most areas compared to the previous title.
    - There are now 4 classes and customizable weapons.
    - More maps and a simpler quickly only matching system. - And of course a decent single player campaign. As for what is about the same as lat time - Smooth responsive action - great sound - guns feel great to shoot - well done maps. - Star Wars, mustn't    Solid game with improvement in most areas compared to the previous title.

    As for what is about the same as lat time
    - Smooth responsive action
    - great sound
    - guns feel great to shoot

    - Star Wars, mustn't forget that. Faithful models, troops, guns etc
    - Still a twitch shooter so you will die a lot

    On the negative
    - Graphics look about the same (which means they look great) yet seem to require better hardware (so maybe this is a negative). Prior to upgrading my video card SWBF2 did not perform as well and SWBF yet when i upgraded my video card and play at max setting I can not see the difference in improvement.

    - Seem to be less ambitious with the various multiplayer modes. Gone are the blended modes that mixed space flight with ground action.

    - The drama from the gaming community is worse than the thing they are complaining about.

    EA and Star Wars is just a hot button topic for the gaming community. But this mob mentality and complaining about greed and "evil" publishers has simply gone too far. You can simply ignore the microtransactions and eventually everyone will have unlocked the most impactful upgrades so its sort of a moot point.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I like the changes they made to Battlefront I and I don't feel it's a "pay-to-win" game, you're not required to pay any additional cent and can still unlock everything.

    Most heroes are unlocked by default and some have to be unlocked for in-game credits you earn by playing multiplayer, arcade or campaign.
    Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker for example can be unlocked for 15.000 credits which is the most expensive price heroes can have, others cost 10.000, like Chewbacca or Emperor Palpatine.
    Roughly after my first 10 matches in multiplayer I would have been able to get Darth Vader for what I earned, yet I did rather purchase Trooper Crates instead since I get to use Troopers all the time.

    You can purchase ingame "crystals" for real money, which in turn can be used to purchase Loot Crates ingame, yet they can be purchased using credits you earn by leveling up your overall rank, completeing milestones(achievments), playing the arcade or playing the story campaign.
    Especially in the beginning you will accumulate big amounts of credits fast for the lower levels are reached faster, the typical milestones (achievments) like "Capture an objective in a multiplayer map." will give you credits as reward as well.

    Other than purchasing crystals, which can be spent on the 3 different types of Loot Crates "Trooper Crates", "Hero Crates" and "Starship Crates" there is nothing else you could possible purchase with real money and these can be earned by playing as well, that's why I don't feel microtransactions make up an important part of the game.

    To move the focus away from flaming about microtransactions here are some details about the actual game:

    There is a short story campaign, which will ultimately leave you behind thinking about what's going to happen next in the upcoming movie in decembre 2017.
    It is a linear story starting during the last of the original trilogy from the '80s - Return of the Jedi - and ending after the most recent one from 2015 - The Force Awakens.

    The actual game, multiplayer, features several different gamemodes, which are:

    Galactic Assault (40 Players): Battle on a series of team-oriented, objective-based maps. Visit iconic locations, pilot favourite vehicles, choose from among four trooper classes, call in special units, and be a hero.
    Starfighter Assault (20 Players): Two teams of pilots take control of fighters, bombers, interceptors and hero ships and engage in multi-stage, objective-based space battles.
    Blast (20 Players): Blast invites players to leap into fast-paced, close-quarters combat.
    Strike (16 Players): Two teams of eight players compete in objective-based scenarios.
    Heroes vs. Villains (8 Players): STAR WARS' greatest characters pitted against each other in a four-on-four team battle.

    There are plenty of new vehicles you didn't see in Battlefront I and even some rideable creatures on some maps, no more pickups spread across the map instead you need to earn battlepoints throughout the match, by killing opponents and playing the objective, which can be used to spawn as a hero, special unit or in a vehicle.
    I felt the heroes are a little less powerful than they used to be in Battlefront I, or harder to play, rather.
    The Separatists and their droid army are now a playable faction including their vehicles.
    The one thing I was missing most of all in Battlefront I is now included: Master Yoda!

    The other playable heroes are:
    Boba Fett
    Bossk
    Chewbacca
    Darth Vader
    Emperor Palpatine
    Han Solo
    Iden Versio
    Kylo Ren
    Lando Calrissian
    Leia Organa
    Luke Skywalker
    Darth Maul
    Rey

    Each of them can be equipped with up to 3 star cards once you unlocked them by opening Loot Crates.

    The 4 basic Trooper Classes are:
    Assault
    Heavy
    Officer
    Specialist These are the playable artillery type vehicles: AT-AT MTT LAAT Gunship U-Wing Gunship These are the playable armoured vehicles: AT-ST AAT AT-RT These are the playable speeders: T-47 Airspeeder LIUV X-34 Landspeeder Speeder Bike Stolen LIUV These are the playable fighter starships: TIE/LN Fighter ARC-170 N-1 Starfighter TIE/FO Fighter Vulture Droid T-65B X-Wing T-70 X-Wing These are the playable interceptor starships: V-Wing RZ-1 A-Wing RZ-2 A-Wing TRI-Fighter TIE/SF Fighter TIE/IN Interceptor These are the playable bomber starships: BTL-A4 Y-Wing BTL-B Y-Wing Hyena-Class Bomber TIE/SA Bomber As with the heroes all of the above mentioned can be equipped with up to 3 star cards. Every Star Card you own has 4 ranks - common, uncommon, rare and epic - which determines how efficient the starcards effect is. You can improve your starcards you the next rank by spending materials you earn similar to credits. Each Trooper Class, Hero, Hero Vehicle and each Vehicle-Class has a star card rank that is equal to the amount of star cards you own for that class plus 1 for each additional rank on your star cards.    … Expand

    Never buy this game. It is horrible they took off micro transactions so you would buy the game, and then they are going to bring them back. Have fun buying a Free to Play $100 game.

    I am not an EA fan and really hate pay-to-win games. BUT I loved old 2005 Battlefront and Battlefront 2017 I love them much more despite of lagging servers, some curious bug..also the AIM system is not the best I've ever seen. After all it's Star Wars

    This game has amazing graphics and gameplay. I had to make a Meta Critic account just to support the true value this game still has, since most people. Now that the P2W system is gone for sometime, The game has opened up many opportunities. However, I had to give the honest 9/10 rating, because EA is still a horrible company that ruins great games. However, grinding has been proved to be much easier, as unlike the original 40 hours, it now only takes 4 hours to unlock Vader and Luke, and less for the others, and grinding is no longer as hard. However, the prices of the loot boxes, the amount of credits gifted by matches still need to increase, for people should not need to spend any more than 2 hours unlocking their favorite heroes. Shooter experience needs to be revamped to match that of iconic shooters such as CoD and Battlefield. But of course. EA will never listen to us. They will continue to release more good games like this then completely screw them up with stuff like micro transactions. This game had potential to outdo all the previous battlefronts. EA had that chance, and screwed it up. Still buy the game, as most of the negative ratings are still based off of the micro transactions and paywalls, which have been removed, and since unlocking heroes takes only 4 hours instead of 40, this game has become much more bearable for me.… Expand

I did not cancel me pre-order, but I do take great exception to paying full price for a game which then expected us to make substantial purchases in game to get better characters etc.,

    Update: Just finished the single player campaign, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Captures the Star Wars feel for me! Loved it! Increased review score from 5 to 8. Am also having fun in multiplayer avoiding the hero mode game and playing 8 v 8 team games! Despite the crate disaster, the game is fun and well made.    … Expand

    I'm really enjoying the game. It's gorgeous. Servers are full and it's quick to join. The campaign is fun. Pay to win is gone. Why all teh negative hype for a fun game. It's also 40% off. Worth it at that price for sure.

    Stunning graphics. Great gameplay and Star Wars feeling.
    It's much better than Battlefront 1. Content is much bigger and space combat is way much better. It feels like You're in Star Wars movie.

There are no microtransactions so far and I do like the game... altho it's nearly unplayable for me. You can't have your cake and eat it too. Upon last inspection, the loot boxes don't include skill or gaming instinct.

    This doesn't lay at EA's feet alone. DICE needs to shoulder some of this as well. EA says: "Have MTX so that your game has some long term revenue sources." DICE is who designs the system.
    EA doesn't have anything to do with that other than saying "It should have MTX." There's a significant amount of engineering and design behind the star card system, it's not like EA can just shove it in there. It's unfortunate that those who don't actually know what it takes to fund, make, and sustain these games we all love so much had to go and tarnish the great reception that awaited this game. Rather than outright boycott MTX because it exists, provide feedback on what you'd like to see in the MTX instead. The free DLC and lack of a season pass far outweigh the cost of players buying loot boxes. Like it or not, MTX is necessary for a healthy and thriving games industry to keep producing the hits that you crave. (cosmetic or otherwise.)

    World of Tanks, Football, Hockey, and Soccer Ultimate Teams, Battlefield 4+... where was the outrage then?! Just because it's a beloved franchise like Star Wars? You all think it's YOURS, and you OWN it? Please stop parroting what you're hearing about gambling, unlock times, the death of the industry and all the noise out there. Sit down, strap in and enjoy the ride

    Great game. I have a lot of fun playing it. Graphics are amazing and almost breathtaking. Game runs really smooth as well. Singleplayer campaign is little bit too short but otherwise it's fun to play with interesting new characters. Looking forward to new FREE maps coming in next months. #HatersGonnaHate

    Beautiful Star Wars game. Much better than Battlefront I (2015). Hate on SWBF II is only because of microtransactions (which EA is working on). But I measure only gameplay, graphics etc.-things which were made by DICE, Motive, Criterion & Lucasfilm not by EA.

    This game is great. All you haters need to investigate the cost of developing AAA-games these days and understand how the industry need to look into ways of financing the level you expect. MTX might not be the way, but it¨s better than many other models.

However the main character, although rendered beautifully and backed up with solid acting is annoying from a narrative perspective. As a man I'm getting tired of the whole "girl power" initiative that has infected media. Can women be strong? Absolutely. ButIt's a beautiful game and the designers should be proud.     Ppl need to chill, and understand that not everything is going to be given to them for free.

    Not to mention banning/removing posts from their subreddit because people are exposing hackers. Their anticheat is garbage and they do nothing to stop the hackers.     Sadly even after two years this game is not good enough the story is boring the gameplay becomes stale after one or two hours and the multilayer still needs a lot of improvements. The graphics were Ok but weren't good enough to carry the game for me. In the end the game is a pretty dull experience and I wouldnt recommend it.

    Did all those wo gave 0 to the title tried the game?I tried the origin access 10 hours trial and i bought it, the game is good, better than battlefront 1, is funny and visually sutnning.MIcrotransactions?Who care about them,do you cry when playing soft air and your enemy has better equipment just because he can afford that and you not?Use the force and you will not need any star card.

Графика как и в прошлой части великолекна,получаю просто эстетическое удовольствие находясь в игре,герои проработаны здоровско.Если в первом battlefront 2015 герои со световым мечом были просто шкурками с мечом,сейчас выше всяких похвал, ,героя чувствуешь, озвучка сделана классно,все ощущается будто ты там.Очень радует переработанная система очков,теперь, не боясь что из-за неопытности ты невовремя возьмешь героя и вся команда проиграет,тут такого нет,не умеешь играть,убили по-быстрому и через минуту новый человек может его взять.Полеты полный восторг,карта около спутника Эндор с обломками звезды смерти просто стон,играю от первого лица,и это нереальные эмоции когда летаешь между обломков,теперь действительно можно легко летать от 1 лица,Все смотрится очень динамично.В компанию еще даже не играл,но уже удовлетворен наполнением,предвкушаю великолепные катсцены и драматичный сюжет).По поводу наболевшего система лутбоксов),обсолютно адекватная система,блин 17000 кредитов в 2015 намного сложней заработать чем здесь,и там ты только открывал морду персонажа,при том что остальная часть тела модельки не менялась,здесь приятно получать бонусы,пусть и случайные,притом в игре есть детали,позволяющие скрафтить все необходимое, зарабатываются они безболезненно.В общем зря опустили великолепнейшую игру...еще бы больше карт в которых можно пережить детские эмоции)).
    Один минус всеже есть,это система поиска сетевых игр,очень жалко что нельзя выбрать на какой карте сыграть,я надеюсь что EA добавит настройки выбора карты).По поводу баланса не могу ничего сказать,но если в 2015 заработать адекватный k/d было очень тяжело праворукие или просто хорошо устроившиеся игроки выносили в лет и потом снова через полкарты беги,здесь k/d куда выше и заработать его проще,хотя конечно снайперы достают и здесь.Я только начал изучать эту прекрасную игру,но меня в ней гораздо большее радует,чем в предыдущей,хотя и в предыдущую я наиграл немало. P.S. Для меня наличие контента гораздо выше ценится чем какие-о лутбоксы    … Expand

    Понятие кейсовлубоксов - это будущее. Если ты нищеброд, бомж и просто лошара по жизни, то ты не достоин играть в компьютерные игры.
    Селекция по    Данная игра абсолютный шедевр игровой индустрии. Хейт, связанный с этой игрой из-за того, что дети бедны. Я лично успешный молодой человек, и для меня 2000$ - это не деньги! Графика лучше в новом Call of Duty, но меня это не останавливает.

    In the present condition this game deserves a 8-9. But I give a 10 because of the many stupid and unrealistic "0"! The game delivers georious graphics and sound, great gameplay and a lot of fun. It's simply one of the best multiplayer shooters out there and a lot better than BF1, what was very boring. Yes, EA is greedy and the lootbox system was to much, but it doesn't make the actual gameIn the present condition this game deserves a 8-9. It would have been really bad if you can buy items which are not obtainable through playing, but that's not the case.

    The fact that lootboxes are random for me as player is fine and fun, I actually like it (it's like drops in World of warcraft), you either be lucky or not. But the randomness for people who pay for it, is bad design I think. To be honest if it was to me, I would say cosmetic items only aswell by the way, don't get me wrong.

    I bought this game after they got their microtransactions removed (for PC it was only €45 via instant gaming cdkey). I wanted this game anway because it looked so badass and the beta was great fun!

    I did not play the campaign yet, so can't judge on that. But the Multiplayer honestly is amazing. Haven't had so much fun for years playing a game. I really regret that I bought CoD WW2 last week, because this is so much better. I refuned battlefront 1, because it just didn't do it for me. But this one deserves a solid 8. Could be a 9 if they fix some minor bugs, add leaderboards, stats for all weapons. But this could be added in the feature probably. The many content right now is already amazing, and free DLC is coming aswell.

    I really think if they come back with the microtransactions to be pure cosmetic only, this game is really good.

    And although I really understand that EA screwed this up, I think you should give the people from DICE who has delivered this game a second chance. But that's up to you ofcourse, I don't regret it :-)

    I'm not a fanboy or anything, just a casual gamer who really enjoys the expericence so far!

    I actually think the weapons - which you don't need the crates for - are more important than the star cards, and the weapon grinds are particularly brutal. That's one area where EA could have clearly made the game "pay to win" (by allowing you to buy the guns) but they didn't. Everyone really needs to calm down about the transactions. I doubt any of these complainers have actually played the game. If they decided to try it before bashing it they'd probably discover that it's actually pretty fun.

    It's clear that if you want to get the most out of your experience you'll have to spend a good 100-200 hours with this game, and that's even if you also chose to spend the equivalent of a season pass or two on the crates. Big whoop. If you're having fun who cares?

    It's a shame to see such an over-the-top, immature, and frankly, a borderline libelous reaction from these reddit nerds. These are the kind of people that hate fun of any kind and log on to reddit to gripe about EVERYTHING. Pathetic.

    EA continues to set the standard for quality. Star wars battlefront II is a masterpiece, easily the best game released this year, it's all about the graphics, the graphics are beyond words, so realistic and beautiful, the gameplay is simply amazing. The lootboxes really add value to this game, it's so exciting buying them, really adds to the experience.

    I like this game and EA shows reaction! People are complaining about everything! It is very dumb judging this game only by micro transactions. There was no "real" pay to win and you aren't even forced to buy credits with your real money. So get over it and stop bashing a game without even testing and getting an objective opinion!

Now I completely agree with that, but people should be wiling to retract their bad reviews if it was fixed. Battlefront 2 is an amazing game that really brings me back to playing BF2 for the PS2.     The pay to win features have been removed, so that no longer effects my review of the game. On it's own I give it a very high score, it's certainly better than the new WW2 Call of Duty in my opinion.    … Expand

The progression system is a little too gated, but the star cards are a better approach to abilities, and the micro transactions are a trade off for the season pass.

    This game is a mixed bag to be honest; It looks fantastic, it has solid shooter game play, the same goes for starfighter modes too and the campaign is a decent (but not amazing) story.
    But then there's loot boxes, micro-transactions and pretty much everything wrong with the game industry, all have managed to get into this game and it is such a shame but it's probably easier to do this bit    This game is a mixed bag to be honest; It looks fantastic, it has solid shooter game play, the same goes for starfighter modes too and the campaign is a decent (but not amazing) story.
    But then there's loot boxes, micro-transactions and pretty much everything wrong with the game industry, all have managed to get into this game and it is such a shame but it's probably easier to do this bit by bit.

    I'll start off with the Single player then:

    Campaign:
    While not the best (or most original) Star Wars story I've seen it does its job, it showcases solid game play, beautiful graphics for both character models and locations while tying it all together with some pretty great voice acting... and unfortunately that is all I have to say about it, there is a lot of wasted potential here and I'm hoping this is utilised in the DLC seasons that are on the way.

    Arcade:
    Another example of wasted potential here, while fun the battle scenarios are a bit limited. Custom arcade however is a great idea but currently very bare bones, we currently only have 2 game modes with the largest being a 10 vs 10 death match style game, while this is OK there much bigger and better game modes in the multiplayer and these really need to make there way over to arcade for it to be anything more than a quick distraction. (Oh and I think all of the blasters should be available in arcade like they were in skirmish from the last game).

    Now for the multiplayer, this sadly is where the game falls apart. While having more game modes and the same solid game play as before it is horrendously unbalanced, this is completely due to the games loot box progression system and it's frankly awful.
    All of the star cards are in these loot boxes which have such a high purchase price it is a grind just to get one or two boxes and it's the same for hero unlocks, unlike arcade mode many of the heroes are locked behind a huge grind (apparently 40+ hours).
    This needs to drastically change in order to make the multiplayer worth while.

    In conclusion, the game itself is a solid shooter but many of the game modes aren't fleshed out enough for them to be substantial, the biggest problem here is the loot box system and EA or Dice need to seriously look at this as it is ruining an other wise pretty good game.
    There are additions and changes coming over the next year or so, hopefully these make the necessary changes needed to do the game justice, until then however I can't give the game anything higher than a 6/10.    … Expand

    This is an absolute disgrace and even at $5 you shouldn't buy this. No-one, and I repeat, no-one is playing, and there is NO LAN SUPPORT.

    This game is awesome, if you are a Star Wars fan, you must play this game. Graphics are awesome, campaign is decent, but epilogue is epic! Multiplayer is EPIC AF! I really recommend this game^^

No MT but games still feels like it was and now you're locked in tryna earn unlocks playing vs people with full gear. Their TDM mode needs work, running around the entire game tryna find that one person. game feels unfinished.     Amazing game, extremely fun. Too much bashing on the game around the micro transactions system. Recurring revenue is extremely important. You may bash EA for it, but more is coming for you from other developers, its just a matter of time.

    EA could literally remove the whole system and make the game be totally fine, and you would still see posts claiming that it'S fake and EA is trying to trick you.

    If you're looking at reviews for this game to decide if you should take the chance and buy it, you won't find anything useful.

    90% of reviews here on metacritic are either hatetrain **** or from people who have not even played the game at all and are just trying to keep the fire going. Because in the end, the game itself is great - But nobody cares about this.

    My first impressions are pretty good, campaign sucks as expected, multiplayer is fast paced and fun.
    Unlocking heroes and star cards has been very quick for me without using a dime of my money on the crates.

    Beside #CrateGate is SWBFII a really good game. The graphics and sounds are one of the best I have ever seen. The Multiplayer is fun as always and even offline players get a good campain and an arcade mode for a little extra challenge.

If you are a Star Wars fan there is a high chance you will enjoy this title. i just wanted to give an honest review before all the review bomb 0's start popping up. I get that micro-transactions are a bad practice and shouldn't be in video games, but to review bomb because of it isn't a good practice either. All it's going to do is make people not be able to trust reviews. There are better ways to show EA that the loot box system needs to be removed from games. Remember most games that have loot boxes for sale are still charging for DLC. This game is at least giving all the DLC for free. Almost all of the stuff you get from loot boxes is also locked behind progression, even star card levels are directly tied to in game progression. You can't spend money to max out your character. Also as of now they completely removed the micro-transactions. I also don't understand why people are saying its gonna take forever to get all the characters, i have them all and i got them in less than 10 hours, and no i didn't buy any loot boxes. It's like these people are basing their reviews off the beta. The game has changed so much sense then.… Expand

    This is really sad that all of negative opinions came from a un-grown child which are didn't even play the game and just cry the river about "having to spend some time with a title to unlock a content which they didnt have to pay EXTRA for it in a DLC";
    They are chil children which should be cut down from internet access...

    Great game, graphics, launch day performance and connectivity was solid. fast loading... I really think they did a fantastic job here. I'm about 5 hours of play in on multiplayer and couldn't be happier.

    The haters are ignorant, probably don't have actually have or have played the game.

    Game looks stunning and immersive, people are complaining too much giving unrealistic scores just because they dont like micro transactions neither i love them (btw that are removed) it is dumb to judge game by that. Everything is done great. Campaign, Arcade Mode and Multiplayer, only thing i miss is Galactic Conquest. GG EA

    Much like the first modern SWBF, SWBF2 looks and sounds amazing. The graphics are very detailed yet the game runs smoothly on a middle-of-the-road PC. The music has been improved to feature more of the classic Star Wars score, making the game feel much more alive than the previous entry.

    Multiplayer matches are your standard Battlefield fare. Compared to the Battlefield titles, the weapons mostly have a lower fire rate, but the time-to-kill is roughly the same. The map design, while asymmetrical, feels balanced. Unlike Hoth in the previous game, the maps do not end up in one-sided fights and the spawn points don't dump you directly into the line of fire. The controls for flight have been touched up, with the semi-autopilot from the previous game completely gone, making dogfights and space combat much more skill-based.

    As of this review (written at the end of launch week), there don't seem to be any weapons or abilities that absolutely dwarf the others in power. Every weapon and ability has its tradeoffs. Abilities can be upgraded to be more effective through the crafting system, which feels slow and random. That being said, the time-to-kill in this game is so quick that the abilities hardly seem to give you an edge. Good map awareness and tactics from a new player will beat an optioned-out run-and-gunner 9 times out of 10.

    The campaign, while short, features a compelling story with decent characters. If you pick up the game, it's worth a play-through. I won't spoil anything beyond that.

    All in all, SWBF2 is a solid game that highly improves on the first game. I've had a lot of fun playing so far, and I have not felt punished for not buying lootboxes.

    The Politics:

    Frankly, I am worried about this game's future and the hype machine surrounded by it. Yes, EA's lootbox system is technically P2W because paying players can get power faster than non-paying players. I think they absolutely need revamp the lootboxes to remove P2W items and include fun non-gamechanging items like you see in Overwatch and CS:GO. However, the impact of the P2W system has been blown out of proportion IMO. It's nothing like those old Nexon games where you get destroyed by whales.

    The impact of the P2W stuff is very similar to that in Battlefield 1, so if you could tolerate it in that game, you can tolerate it here. The fact that EA is making last-minute changes to their years-long project means that the pressure on them is real, and there is a chance we will see them forego the P2W stuff entirely.

    To those that would love to play this game if not for the P2W mechanics, I urge you keep an eye on this game and see what EA decides to do in the future. If the small amount of P2W makes this game absolutely not worth it, I totally get it. But don't rob yourself of a good experience because the Internet hype machine says so.    … Expand

    Battle front is actually a great game and is totally worth the high price it’s multiplayer is better then the multiplayer in call of duty ww2 (all so a pretty good game) and is almost as fun as csgo multiplayer. Also the single player is one of the better single player experience.

It is also very well polished, as you would expect from an AAA game.

    But without the skins and judging absolutely from merit, it is a decent multiplayer game on a grand scale – because of this scale, it can be hard to see what effect you are having on any particular game – that is my friend and I, felt whilst playing. The focus is on bullet spongey characters, their skills and some how doing enough damage to compete with your team-members to afford to 'buy' a 'force user'(Jedi or Sithlord etc) - although there are plenty of other special units to use, which was good.

    The single player was playable and most certainly gives an idea of what some characters can do if you were to use them in the multiplayer theatre and would probably be very interesting to those who like story or are interested in Star Wars.    … Expand

    I really loved this game, so much! :) I got it for Christmas from my parents in 2020, for 19EURO, the DVD Box version. The DICE made a very great job, down with the hat, my appreciation! :) Awesome, incredible graphics, great atmosphera, the music, the sounds and the story, everything was great! :) Thank you so much for this game! :)

    7.5/10 • Yoda Yoda. I'm no Star Wars fan but this is a pretty good game. It's very impressive visually and the gameplay is good for the most part. The campaign is quite short and the story is a little fragmented but it's fun to play.

    Got it free on Epic so I can't complain too much.
    I missed the whole P2W debacle when the game come out.
    Any how I played it maybe 40 hours, but the problem is there are too many hacks in the PVP games.
    Their pitiful anticheat can't keep up with it.
    You can always play the 4 PVE at least and you level super fast.

    Now that the drama about the loot boxes is long gone, people should accept that this is the best SW multiplayer game around. The locations, characters, vehicles and weapons are great representation of the movies and even the short singleplayer campaign is fun! There are still some heroes missing and other details could be improved, but nevertheless it's a great SW game!

    Great game for the price ($0 on Epic). Love the fact that there's no loot crates or any of the pay2win nonsense that resulted in all the low reviews on launch. Too bad it wasn't like that at launch, but it's great fun now, especially progressing on multiplayer (usually in co-op mode). Haven't played PvP, but that's not really my thing... too many aimbots.

It feels like dice want to find battlefront its own identiti different from battlefield. But what realy be great is to get star wars game with quality of battlefield. It still a fun game but not as good as dice's flagship title battlefield.

    At launch this game was a 2 out of 10. now finally after all the tweaking etc it is an epic game. is a massive shame they didn't get it right first time (well really second time as the stuffed the first game's launch but in different ways).

    (TL;DR: Too much movie, too little game.)

    + Awesome atmosphere! It's like you are playing a movie!
    + Awesome graphics and sounds!
    + Combat feels and looks great.
    + Canon is followed very well for a multiplayer game.
    + Customization is great for a canonical game.
    + It's a small thing but it helps keep the game enjoyable: Chat is hidden by default so it won't ruin your immersion or your mood in case of a salt outbreak.
    + Spaceship battles!

    - Customization is lackluster for a game in general.
    - Very little player choice! You can't choose the map, you can't choose the side, you often can't even choose your class except for the infantry cannon-fodder because you are either lacking the points, the max amount is already in game or it's not available on the current map/mode.
    - Highly unbalanced! As infantry you will most likely spend most of your time dying to reinforcements and heroes, because they are stronger but cost battle points. But in order to get battle points you need to get kills/assists, so if the enemy player is better than you or has more battle points, for example because you joined later, you will spend most of the match dying in infantry. It exacerbates skill/experience gaps and leads to unfun snowballing like feeding in MOBAs.
    - A few game modes are popular, the rest rarely has enough players..
    - Forced to play in 3rd person view unless you play infantry.
    - Technical issues seem kind of common.

    BOTTOM LINE
    For the current low price it's worth giving it a try!

    And a few tips to help avoid frustration:

    * Don't solo-rush all over the map, it's a team game and without your team near you, you will get surrounded or crushed by stronger classes all the time.
    * Stick not just with your team, but also with the objective. It can be hard to figure out where the current front line is but it's usually somewhere between your checkpoints (which double as spawn points) and the enemy's.
    * Don't push your luck. In fire fights, get behind cover fast. With up to 20 players pear team, incoming damage can spike hard and you will often get killed by that one last shot right as you take cover.
    * Make peace with the fact that you will probably need to main more than 1 class/character, as not every map, mode and side has all the same ones. When you do that and are willing to enjoy several different classes, you can enjoy the game. You can still make them somewhat unique with star cards to best fit your playstyle.
    * It's a "hero shooter" with classes, characters and abilities. Remember you will need to take your time and learn what all the different abilities and weapons do to understand what's happening.    … Expand

Multiplayer at times feels unbalanced, then at other times you are doing very well, aside from the guy on the top of the leader board that seems to have a spammy level of kills....All in all I like it, will keep playing and hope more people join online, it isn't a counterstike experience with super fast spawns but it isn't anywhere near Battle Field V, where you die so fast and wait forever only to have to pick who to spawn on each time, or run ALLLLLL the way across the map again for an objective, at least in this game it seems to be 75% faster gameplay overall. To end it, I wish titles like this learned from games like Counter Strike and the success it has, because what people want is not super realism in mechanics and being able to customize all the time, they want environments that are small scale, fast, even if you do have a large map, it should be simple....left and right side of map, try to push one side or the other, or simply team slayer overall, game companies are missing the mark generally by trying to provide what people hate, the same way Halo MCC for PC ruined matchmaking by removing custom server choices, where if you want you can play the same map over and over and over again....that's why on steam their player base is non existent.… Expand

    Awesome graphics, sounds and the game really get the characters right! BUT the campaign just gets too repetitive with boring missions, waves of enemies and the same shooting over and over again. Almost through I was so bored that I couldn't bother to finish. The last Sith mission is SO boring as well.

    Nice to finally have a campaign. Too bad it's garbage. Characters are bland and the story is boring while making little to no sense itself.
    Resurrection is a nice idea, though it's way to short and has the same problems as the main campaign. Collectibles are alright. Gameplay is decent.

    Resurrection is a nice idea, though it's way to short and has the same problems as the main campaign. Collectibles are alright. Gameplay is decent.

    The obvious focus however is the multiplayer. Sadly, EA didn't learn from the first game (what a surprise!) and did not improve on server stability or matchmaking. If you're lucky, the game is loads of fun. If not, well, too bad.

    Apart from the great Starfighter Assault mode Battlefront II is a mess of conflicting ideas, uneven mechanics and of course questionable monetization practices. DICE is facing long months of salvaging the game and the studio’s good name. [01/2018, p.32]

    Even the tinsel of the Star Wars world cannot hide the silly story and the boring singleplayer gameplay, or the necessity to accumulate the credits in the crate hunting in multiplayer. Battlefront II pleases as a genuine shooter in the beautiful scenery, but EA should deserve a slap into the face for their mad progression system.
