There are some issues with pop-in on consoles, but that is the fault of the hedgehog engine more than anything. I am so glad that the characters in this game don't have cringy stories and bad backgrounds, in this game sonic, tails, Amy, and knuckles all have amazing stories. The cutscene animation in terms of expressiveness and movement is amazing dare I say unleashed level. The combat in this game is great, there is a skill tree with many different combos and attacks that flow well in the game. The combat is not button-mashy. There are some minor bugs but I've gotta say sonic fans are eatin tonight. Sonic is back baby!!! Expand

It has it's flaws, it's a bit janky at times but this formula is just what Sonic team needed, if they expand upon it then we'll get a 10/10 game soon.

My only issue with it is how post-game is handled, you can't go back to fight previous bosses which kind of sucks, the replay value is also not that great on the same save, you'll have to start a new one, but you will have fun on that new one.

However, unfortunately, the game suffers from a lot of technical problems that occasionally interfere with the gameplay, so we are waiting for a patch.

The most important thing is that Sonic Team has finally chosen the right direction for the development of the series. The game is already incredibly fun to play, so we can only hope that by the next part, all technical and other minor flaws will be cured and Sonic will return to the big league!

My main issues with the game seem to stem purely from the actual stages in the game itself, not the MAIN aspect which was clearly stated to be the open-zone aspect. The controls in the "cyberspace" stages of the game seem VERY janky and stiff, and although it may make sense from a plot perspective, reusing level design and aesthetics.. Yeah that seriously needs to end. My other main complaint here is the game, in my opinion, has a VERY underwhelming ending which I can't really get into due to spoilers but yeah, more of a personal thing but my friends seem to share that opinion.
The POSITIVES though, yeah they most definitely outweigh the negatives. Seeing as this is Sonic's first journey into the open-world/open-zone genre I was expecting something pretty horrible to be honest but I'm happy to say here that I was proven wrong and THEN some. It's a concept that really sounds horrible on paper, y'know a buncha floating rails and puzzels everywhere littered around pretty environments but since it's Sonic, taking into account how fast you're moving around it works.. It works really well. Granted I would've preferred these rails and things better integrated with the open-zones aesthetically but I really see this as a good start! Another thing this game delivers on and THEN some is the soundtrack, this time around they seriously blew me away with such a mixed and diverse bag of music. With beautiful calming pieces of music surrounding the open areas with such gorgeous instruments like a tabla of all things, from the boss themes which is ripped straight out of my early 2000's childhood of laying in my room listening to bands like Pierce the Veil (Kellen Quinn actually featuring on almost every main theme providing vocals) and while the Cyberspae was the weakest part of the game for me, Tomoya Ohtani and the rest of the crew at SEGA created some GREAT Electronic/EDM/Dance pieces here that I can even imagine literal dance-clubs playing. I was actually very fond of the story this time around, an aspect to Sonic games I really haven't been crazy about since Sonic and The Black Knight way back in 2009. It's refreshing, the new writer Ian Flynn seriously delivered something impressive with his take on the characters and their dialogue, and to have a story actually hold real weight in the universe again really meant something to me.
All around, as a first step in making things better with Sonic it's a REALLY great start and I hope they continue to listen to the community with what we like, dislike, and hearing that Sonic Team is expanding marks a seriously promising future for this franchise. A future entirely set in motion by Sonic Frontiers!

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game was really good, but nowhere near perfect. I still really love it though.
I'll talk about my gripes with the game here.

The open zones were great, but the variety between them wasn't very strong.
The first island, Kronos, consists of some forests and open plains. The second island, Ares, consists of deserts and canyons. The third island, Chaos, consists of volcanic and tropical scenery, but mostly the former. The last two islands, however, look almost exactly like Kronos Island. Out of the two, Rhea Island, is actually part of the same landmass as Kronos, so I can give it slack there. The last island, Ouranos, is not part of the same landmass, and really the only differentiating feature of Ouranos is its flowery fields.

The Cyber Space levels were alright. I liked the 3D ones well enough, but most of the 2D ones left a bad taste in my mouth. They weren't bad, but they certainly weren't good either. It's most likely due to Sonic's controls in Cyber Space feeling much different than they feel outside of them. I will also say this, the reused themes in the Cyber Space stages are atrocious. Green Hill, Chemical Plant, Sky Sanctuary, and City Escape. That's it. There are 30 Cyber Space levels, all of which use only those four themes, and even level designs taken right out of Sonic Generations. I don't care if there's a story reason for it, it's just super bland and boring. Honestly, if they used different themes and/or more of them, this wouldn't be as much of a bother for me, but I've seen enough Green Hill in the last 11 years of my life.

But out of the 20+ hours that I played, only around 10% of that time was spent in the Cyber Space stages. Another 10% was spent fishing (I liked it, it was very relaxing), and then the other 80% was spent running around the islands doing some quirky puzzles, speeding through some little mini challenges, and fighting really cool bosses. It was nice to see how they were still introducing a few new puzzle to do and guardians to fight at the final island, but there are still some buffed up reskins of guardians from previous islands. They were still fun to fight though, and were honestly quite the spectacle. If I had to list my least favourites though, I'd have to say Asura and Tank. The former is one of the first guardians you fight, and probably one of, if not the buggiest in the whole game. The latter is just more annoying to fight than others, so that's just me nitpicking.

Another standout part of this game was the titan battles, which I loved. Giganto was a really cool first main boss. Wyvern was also cool, but not as cool as Giganto. Knight was amazing, except for the part where you ride on its saw shield. It shoots missiles at you while you're riding it, but you can't see where the missiles are coming from, so you basically just get juggled around as you try to steer the shield back towards the Knight. But aside from that, I think it was still probably my second favourite titan battle in the game because of how cool its design and the rest of its battle was. My least favourite was most definitely the last one, Supreme. Like all the other titans, its design was badass, but I felt that the battle was just a bit anticlimactic, but it's probably because you don't destroy it like you do with the other titans. The real final boss, The End, was literally just Ikaruga. I can't say anything clever about it, it's literally just Ikaruga. The End's monologue during that fight was also genuinely chilling, so props to that.

The rest of the game was just good, great, awesome, outstanding, amazing.
There are a couple of road bumps here and there, most of them being the Cyber Space levels, but other than those, this game is really god damn good. There were also a few bugs here and there that, while they didn't do anything harmful, they made me raise an eyebrow a few times.
If you like Sonic games, play this game. If you don't like Sonic games, I dunno, you can decide.

I've seen a lot of people complain about the floating rails and stuff, and to that I have to say, it's really not that bad. I thought it looked awful in trailers but as soon as I started playing I didn't even notice it. The world design is great. You'll see a bunch of random springs and rails you can go towards to help you collect stuff, but as you uncover the map by completing challenges, more rails and stuff appear and eventually you can zoom around the island in minutes. Also, I have to say, Sonic goes FAST. It takas a bit of upgrading, but I've never ran so fast in a video game. It feels amazing. Overall, fun ass game Expand

The gameplay, music, bosses and open world design are great, and the plot is the most interesting one since Sonic Unleashed, and also the estetic of the open zones remembered me playing Sonic Adventure and Unleashed.
It lacks on the final boss, which is dissapointing, and sometimes upgrading the habilities tends to be really easy when you find out that big the cat and the cyloop give you skill points. And sometimes the cyberspce phisics tends to be weird to control, but you can get used to.
In general is a really good game, one of the best 3D games, but far from perfect.

Besides the cyberspace level controls being slippery as hell this was everything I've been wanting In a sonic game. Story was taken seriously, music was good (as always) and just felt fun running as sonic. I did feel like after ares island the game started to shift a bit in the quality of the level design but this is a solid foundation sonic team can definitely build upon.

The game is definitely the best 3d Sonic game, even better than Unleashed. The story gets incredibly good after the third island, the cyberspace levels are ok (even if they reused some level design from previous games), the bosses are amazing, and it's fun to dick around as sonic in the open world.
the only problem is that there is a pinball minigame in the third world.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is definitely the best 3d Sonic game ever. It keeps pulling me in with the fact that there are huge open areas with really fun platforming to just do as you wish. Say you find a really cool course. You can just redo it over and over again, improving your time on it.

I've noticed that Chaos island has far more 2d style sections to pay around with. It gives a sort of theme to the island which is fun. I would have to say that Aeres island is my favorite just because of the sprawling open areas you can run around in and all of the fun nooks you can find your self in.

The Titan fights were so **** epic holy **** Each one felt unique in how you fight and counter their specific gimmick. My favorite would probably be the Wyvern. That particular fight felt very Super Sonic to me.

The Cyberspace stages are actually pretty fun The ones I seemed to enjoy the most were those based more on the Sonic Adventure 2 layouts. I honestly think that the way Sonic controls in this game lends itself well to the more Adventure style games. I hope to see more of that in the future.

My biggest nitpicks would have to be the pop in and the ring/speed upgrade system. The pop in can be annoying when trying to find the right set of obstacles that will take you to the memory token you're trying to get. The ring/speed upgrade system is **** slow, tedious, and took way too much time to fully level up. This needs to change badly and is so much simpler to fix than pop in.

Overall I think I'll be playing this game for an incredibly long time since this is such a great game to just play for flow state, similar to Marvel's Spider-Man. I highly recommend this game to anyone who enjoys fun platforming and a somber story.

It's well worth the price. I honestly don't understand some of the negative reviews online about this game - even being heavily critical it's no less than a 7/10. It's good. No, it's GREAT. Personally, I would give Sonic Frontiers a solid 8/10. Here are some of my more in-depth thoughts after about 18 hours of game play.

I'd like to start by saying I've enjoyed every second of this game so far, and at 18 hours in, I'm only about 75% finished with the story. No rushing and no completion pursuing - this is just from playing at my own pace on normal difficulty. Sonic Frontiers presents an enjoyable balance of 3d Sonic and 2d Sonic game play as well as a good mix of open zone exploration and typical Sonic style levels. There are even some fun mini game challenges including fishing levels, mini bosses, and other challenges that suit the theme of each chapter of the story. Each open zone functions as a sort of hub world for the more typical Sonic levels. This allows you to approach them at your own pace and in which ever order you decide. In the open zones you'll find collectibles and storyline prompts that loosely guide you through the area. This is all done very well and in a way that swiftly endears you to each of the characters. The story even features some well written character development for the characters and zone exploration features some random dialogue prompts that longtime fans of the Sonic Comics may enjoy. Overall, it's an enjoyable and fun experience that's well worth the price tag even after only 75% completion. Seriously, the music is phenomenal, and the fishing mini game is a good time, try it if you buy!

There are some flaws worth noting. The first of which is that there are only two graphics settings available - low and high. In addition, there is some minor pop in that doesn't really affect game play. As a PC gamer this was a little disappointing, but it's also something that's easily patched or even modded by the community. The controls are perfectly fine in both zones and levels, however there can be some awkward moments that may lead to a mistake or two. I tend to call these "Sonic what are you doing" moments as it's often just a good laugh. This wasn't detrimental to the overall experience though and didn't distract from the enjoyment of the game. The open zones are great, beautiful and have some interesting variety, but a little empty in certain spots. These areas aren't horrible but could be a little disappointing when you discover a cool looking location only to find no real point of interest there. It's not a perfect game, but it's an excellent start to a new direction for the Sonic franchise. Not only is Sonic Frontiers a game worth buying as is but it's also laying the groundwork for something truly excellent which is exciting to see after several Sonic games that fell flat.

I've seen a lot of people attempting to compare this to LoZ Breath of the Wild. If you're looking for BoTW 2 then wait for Nintendo to release it. This isn't that. The open zone format is more aptly compared to something like Pokemon Arceus and the world/enemy design is much more similar to the first Xenoblade Chronicles - with one boss so closely resembling a Mechon that it's kind of uncanny.

I can't wait to see where the Sonic Franchise goes from here, but why are you still reading this? Buy it already! Or if you already have then go play it! Just don't be surprised when you surface hours later only to realize you've just sunk 6 hours into a Sonic game in one go. A SONIC game? Yeah, that's right, it's that good.

Sonic Frontiers is a very good game especially fun, what a surprise, is what matters most in a video game, its open area works well and I would say that it is even strangely addictive to do simple objectives to complete the map and progress in the story the biggest problem I see is that reaching the end it starts to get repetitive, which actually is not such a big problem because when you start to feel this the game is over, even so I hope Sonic Team can improve this in the next Sonic games, despite how good it can be it is not free of other faults, it has its details that if they had been polished simply would give a greater value to the game, I mean some animations and the constant pop in, it is not the worst I've seen in a current video game but we all agree that it would be better if it was not there or if it was less noticeable, I also have to mention Cyberspace, I like the idea of short and replayable levels but its controls and physics are really bad, if the team plans to continue with this idea in the next games I would also like it to improve.
I also have another complaint which is that in the first 3 islands the story of the game gets more and more interesting but once you finish Chaos Island is like the game says "sorry but it has to end" and it feels very abrupt and in general the whole final stretch feels rushed or uninspired especially the final boss, maybe this is due to lack of time in the development and I understand it but still it is a flaw that has and must be marked.
things that I liked but that I almost forgot to mention so here it goes quickly
    *great soundtrack
*I completely love the battles against the titans, I would have liked an option to repeat the fights
*the combat is great, it's simple but it's very well thought out, it's also another aspect that I hope will improve in future games
and here ends my review, a very good game, it is really the way forward for Sonic Team they have a solid foundation and can continue to improve
By the way sorry if something is not understood or for any spelling or grammatical errors that I may have I used 100% of my brain power to write this and a little help from the translator

Despite that, I did play the classics along side them and genuinely appreciate the franchise for what it is.

So with that, I of course was concerned with how they'd be tackling the newest entry of the franchise after a rocky series of events that was the past decade for the guy- I truly wanted Frontiers to be good! Yet I waited and kept my expectations in check-

Lo and behold...I was blown away by how ABSOLUTELY FUN this was! The story, it's music and gameplay were all an absolute blast to enjoy- despite the uh, obvious issues like the camera, pop-in and other things. (The amount of times i got flung into the sky while boosting because of certain things not being loaded was funny but surprising LOL)

The team behind this truly had fun making Frontiers, because I could feel it as I played. I had fun just as much as they did. I cannot wait what they'll do next.

This is truly a renaissance for Sonic the Hedgehog. If you're a rather new fan, old fan, or just wanting to get into the series- give it a chance for yourself!

-overall great game, would recommend to most
-one of the best soundtracks i've heard
-the basic gameplay is incredibly satisfying. the 'open zone' design fits sonic really well and frontiers serves as a good base for how future sonic games could look
-plot isn't anything special but how the characters are written and interact with each other is great
-combat needs work in certain regards but would love to see a combat system remain in future sonic games, where it gives more involvement compared to homing attacks or boosting but doesn't completely kill the flow of speed

    specific
-storywise seems to try to connect older games/media to one main plotline for the series
-grinding for various collectibles can be tedious, especially where big's fishing can get far more in lesser time
-too many 2d segments on chaos island, kind of kills the point of open zone (especially if you accidentally trigger a section and have to jump out or finish it)
-pop in can be terrible sometimes but doesn't detract too much from the overall experience
-final boss(es) felt kind of underwhelming where cross slash is super strong and the shooter minigame feels out of place for a secret final boss
-the end scene where eggman is silently grieving seems out of place but really ties together his development throughout the game

frontiers has its flaws, but a lot of the reviews give it too much flak where it can affect the enjoyment of the experience. everything considered, the game serves as a good turning point to how future sonic games could look and is well worth the cost.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Sonic Frontiers is a good game and a massive step in the right direction for the Sonic franchise. The actual gameplay is rock solid and will be a great foundation to build upon for future games. The way Sonic moves feels very similar to Sonic Lost World only it is way better as it isn't as stiff, is way faster, and the world gives a lot more room for the player to breathe and get a feel for how Sonic works.

This is easily the best story since the Black Knight and I am so happy that Sega finally has some writers that love the franchise and respect the history of the characters. That being said, the main story regarding the intentions of the voice in Sonic's head was very predictable. Before the game was even out everyone already pretty knew that the voice was going to be the main villain this time around. Sage is a wonderful character and I really like what the writers tried to do with her. Based on the end credits scene I doubt this was the last we will see of her, which is a very good thing. The only real complaint I have is that there are some plot points that were brought up in the main story that are never given any closure such as, who actually made the chaos emeralds, why the master emerald was on Sonic's world, and where the super emeralds come into play. Maybe some of this is explained in a side story and I just didn't find it but if that is the case then I must say definitely feel like this information is important enough the lore of the entire franchise that it should be included in the main part of the story. Maybe Sega is planning a sequel or some DLC content that serves to explain some of this, which is definitely what it feels like.

As I said earlier, the way Sonic moves and feels is really good. The fact that this game is using the same engine as Sonic Forces is insane as this game, for the most part, has none of the issues that Forces has. The only time I ever feel like Sonic's movement is bad is in some of the cyber space stages. In the open zone areas Sonic has a lot of movement options, the main one being the boost which is bound to the right trigger by default, which is why it feels a lot more Like Lost World to me. Sonic can also use the drop dash, which is cool I guess but I used it so infrequently that I have to ask why it was even included. The homing attack is on the action button again, just like in Sonic Unleashed, but this time it actually makes sense due to the way combat was handled in this game. I love all of the different moves Sonic can do in this game as It isn't too hard to pull off successful combos and it feels very satisfying. The only issues I had with the open world gameplay was the lack of invincibly frames after getting hit and the fact that every little piece of geometry has collision. The lack of a grace period after taking damage wasn't a huge deal as it keeps you on your toes but the collision was my worst nightmare. I would try boosting across the map to get to a certain location or try to do a cyloop to attack enemies or solve puzzles only to be flung in the air by some random rock sticking half an inch out of the ground. This has messed me up so many times that I wonder why nobody ever tried to smooth it out the terrain a little bit. To compensate, the devs basically made Sonic stick to the ground like he has magnets in his feet which has sent me plunging to my death multiple times during platform segments. The issues weren't bad enough to ruin the experience for me but it has definitely gotten to a point where I don't really find it funny anymore. The only portion of the gameplay that I straight up disliked was the cyber space stages. Mainly because they were so inconsistent. Sometimes I would find a stage that is really fun and well thought out, these are usually the ones ripped from other Sonic games, and sometimes I would find one that is just downright frustrating to play. By the time I made it to the last island I just didn't want to play cyber space stages anymore. That being said, the worst part of cyber space isn't even the level design. The worst part is the fact that this is the 5th mainline Sonic game in a row to use Green Hill Zone. After this, I never want to see Green Hill Zone again. Same thing with Chemical Plant and Sky Sanctuary. If you absolutely HAVE to bring old level themes back at least pick something else like Cyber Track from Sonic Advance 3, a level that would have actually made sense to end up in this game. It feels like the developers ran out of time towards the end as the last two islands are reusing the same theme as the first one which kind of cheapened the experience for me. I hope this is the last game in the franchise to reuse assets in this way.

Sonic Frontiers is a very good game overall and I definitely think that it is worth the price. I can't wait to see where Sega take Sonic in the future and I can't wait to see what kind of mods come to this game

Notice Sonic’s voice is deeper. If you don’t like it, think of it this way: Sonic has grown and matured. You can still hear his comical voices here and there, but in this game he says some stuff that makes him sound like a grown adult. Even Tails, Sonic’s long time best friend and partner, faces a change within himself that I won’t spoil, as it serves a potential outcome that Sonic will be going solo from now on for his next adventures (Thats all I’m saying).

Other than that, you may encounter some bugs but thats simply unavoidable. NOT GAME BREAKING. Go from point A to B the way you are supposed to and don’t try anything freaky that would bug you. The bugs in this game are mostly user initiated, not from the game itself.

Sonic Frontiers Is fantastic it's got its flaws but it's amazing as I avid sonic fan and the lore drops and the story enterally the game play is awesome but not perfect (same for the story) but it's very fun but there is pretty much no momentum in the game it doesn't really matter until you go to Cyber Space which is the worst part of the game the Cyber Space levels are awful and it uses old level design it's one of the reason it's a nine not a ten along with other nit pics and stuff that only bothers me and me only in conclusion the game is not perfect but it's great it has its flaws but that's what sequels are for and to critics shut up the game is awesome if you're thinking about buying it do it RIGHT NOW!!!

: SPOILERS! the final two islands are just the first island split up which is another reason why it's not a ten:

Good game with fun combat, and challenging bosses. A little buggy at times but it isn't game breaking but the bugs do take me out of the experience. I would definitely recommend this if your looking for a fun open world (or open zone as its called) game.

Sonic Frontiers is a new enjoyable experience for Sonic I think the game is really fun it has its flaws like every game like Cyrus face or the final two islands I overall things on a picture is good I wish the starter space levels were a bit better of a better FedEx a nd you will love to be nine and new assets but they're not obviously like playing the phone with you basically same thing as crooners Island but overall it was good. By surprise, this game turned out to be a gem that is not only fun but also visually beautiful. Running with Sonic feels very comfortable, I never felt that in another 3D game of the blue hedgehog. The cyberspace phases are fun, the story is the best because it redeems some aspects of the characters that were stuck. The main villain is very interesting and what to say about the soundtrack... a delicatessen.
The cons of the game go along the line of the limitation imposed by the distance of drawing. It takes away from the illusion a bit when you can perfectly see the circle surrounding Sonic so that the objects on the map can appear. The puzzles are somewhat repetitive with a few exceptions.
Regardless, the game is an excellent revival of the franchise. After years of stagnation and dark times, the hedgehog has a bright future. I hope Sega continues down this path and polishes up the flaws for the next one.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The game has a better story than all the entries in the series since sonic unleashed. Obviously, the pop-in is bad but I rarely found it to be an issue in my play-through. There are some glitches which is to almost be expected from any new game coming out at this point. The only two major complaints I have are about the cyberspace levels controlling terribly and the 2D segments in an open-zone 3D environment that awkwardly transition from 2D to 3D with no way to go back the way you came. The only cyberspace levels I liked were the ones that were entirely 3D, but most of them aren't designed with how sonic controls in this game in mind and instead just byte sized versions of level layouts from the games they came from with only 4 level themes throughout the entire game that are specifically nostalgia pandering which is one of the things I feel like keeps holding every new mainline release back regardless of how much they innovate like they did in this game. Also the final boss could've been better. Expand

This game is absolutely incredible. This game is a 9/10 for me. Maybe even a 10/10 if I can look past its flaws. The game is really good. Ending feels kinda rushed, and the cyberspace controls aren't too great. But I don't care! This game is amazing! 100 percent worth your money!

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Sonic Frontiers is a great step in the right direction and I thoroughly enjoyed my two play throughs of the game. It’s obviously not a perfect game and I feel the game takes a massive dip in quality particularly towards the final two islands as they reuse the island theme from Kronos, the first island. There are more things bringing this game down such as it’s anticlimactic “true” final boss, the abysmal pop in that distracts you as you play and the magnet like feel sonic has to the ground which is especially noticeable on the third island. The best things about the game has to be its absolutely amazing OST. The titan boss fights are the best parts of the game by far with these Metal Gear Rising like rock themes playing as you go. The combat in this game also isn’t as bad as I thought it would be. It’s no DMC 5 but it’s definitely a solid combat system. All that being said this is probably the most fun I’ve had in a 3D Sonic title since Sonic Generations and I hope they use Frontiers’ more open gameplay in Future games. Expand

If Sonic Frontiers Showed something is that Sonic Team still has motivation and ambition, for a lot of people find the game a bit janky and it is...this a new territory for the Team, however like everyone are saying, it's the step on the right direction to the blue blur and Sonic Team,

    Pros
-Sonic, even if he has a slow start on his speed, he's pretty easy to hand, adding a plus on more casual people or places were it requires precise platforming
-The combat is pretty fun once you gain access to the new skills Sonic has.
-The progression system works pretty good, it doesn't feel forced, since you can go without upgrading any of the attributes.
    - Characters knowing their flaws and strengths making a good character development, showing that they can be better
-The islands are well structured, including every aspect of it, except the 4th Island
-The story is one of the best Sonic ever had, includibng every aspect about the origins of the Chaos Emeralds and some aspect that also affect the lore of Sonic Adventure 1
-Sonic being able to do more that one thing is a big step forward instead of being just a 2 buttons game, this made one of the greatest experience for me.
-The mini games and missions are pretty fun, Big¿s big return with and amazing mini game
-Amazing soundtrack with a big variety of Rock, techno, orchestral, metal and lofi
    Cons
-Rhea Island just feel weak and I think it could've been done more
-Speed/Rings leveling is way too tedious
-The Combat while being good it could get a bit repetitive.
    Conclusion
Sonic Frontiers is a great game and a fantastic Sonic game, there is a diamong in the rough, but I feel that Sonic team could make it even better, they have the formula the only need to polish it, a more engaging and challenging combat could be a great addttion and make momentum based stages or place could be a great idea in the future, they already found the momentum with the drop dash, but I think they could make it on base sonic, I'm very excited of the new future that Sonic has, and hoping that he will continue going into new Frontiers

I grew up with this franchise and have lamented for over a decade that the games just aren't any good anymore. It was sad to watch my favorite character as a child turn into a bumbling laugh track desperate to appeal to the meme audience. And that's fine and fun to an extent, but that's all Sonic was for a very long time.
Then comes Frontiers, I was really worried about this one. Open

And that's fine and fun to an extent, but that's all Sonic was for a very long time.
Then comes Frontiers, I was really worried about this one. Open world games are usually some of my favorites and half the reason I ever enjoyed 06 was the big hub worlds to just run around in. Now I get Sonic in a big open space and that's the main point of the game? That sounds amazing!
The only reason I'm not ranking this a 10 is a very simple one. The jump should not kill all of my momentum. It really hurts the platforming overall. If I could maintain my speed into a jump and even some of that dreaded M word this would be an easy 10/10 for me.
Let's do it to it, and hope we get more Sonic of this quality in the years to come.
