Sep 10, 2018If Uncharted rose to fame with weapons it stole from washed-out Tomb Raider (before its reboot), Shadow of the Tomb Raider grabs them back, making it visually and gameplaywise the most essential action-adventure you can imagine. It not only builds upon the series legacy, it goes to its roots and successfully brings back the exploration that we were busy not to even notice was missing while tackling through many exciting action set pieces of the previous games. Doing so, Shadow of the Tomb Raider is the most poignant entry in the long series since the very first game.
-
Sep 10, 2018The Tomb Raider trilogy presents itself in its best form for the final. Shadow of the Tomb Raider is an all-round great action-adventure game.
-
Sep 24, 2018Some of the physics could have been better, but overall, it’s going to probably be one of the most beautiful games in 2018. It would be interesting to see where the story goes from here. Shadow of the Tomb Raider is the highlight of the series, and topping it will be difficult.
-
Sep 10, 2018From start to finish you are taken into a cool adventure where Lara Croft becomes more and more human. With good balance between puzzles, battles and explorations, you feel like you're in an adventure where everything is dangerous.
-
Sep 10, 2018There is a noticeable emphasis on the narrative. Although Shadow of the Tomb Raider modifies what we've grown accustomed to within the franchise, the change of pace is welcomed. You'll find pockets of open-world to explore, with tons of side-quests and interactions with NPCs. Don't expect guns-a-blazin', but do expect getting more than you bargained for from this Tomb Raider experience.
-
Sep 10, 2018Lara is back to her roots. The focus on adventure instead of endless fighting is fantastic and the gameplay has been evolved for the better again. On top of that Tomb Raider never did look so good.
-
Sep 13, 2018A highly worthy adventure for Lara Croft, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider actually breaks out of the shadow of Uncharted by keeping the combat low and the puzzles high. If only the story was a bit better…
-
Sep 10, 2018A greater focus on raiding tombs, and massively improved stealth combat, make this one of Lara Croft's best modern adventures.
-
Sep 15, 2018Shadow of Tomb Raider absolutely is the best one in the trilogy since 2013, and its combat, puzzles, narrative, level design are all at a peak. But to be honest, those improvements are not as important as its two predecessors', and it might bore some of the veteran fans who expect more.
-
Game World Navigator MagazineNov 21, 2018Lara’s new adventure is definitely the best in trilogy, but it still lags behind the leaders of action-adventure genre, such as Uncharted 4. [Issue #233, p.44]
-
Oct 9, 2018Despite some frame-rate stutters, slight audio-visual desyncs, and the occasional bad texture rendering, Shadow of the Tomb Raider is eerie, challenging, thoughtful, compelling, and downright fun.
-
Sep 10, 2018Closer to the original Tom Raider games, at least in its atmosphere, Shadow of the Tomb Raider is well crafted, beautiful and loaded with interesting puzzles. But the feeling of deja vu is strong with this one.
-
Oct 9, 2018The new Tomb Raider shows Lara Croft as an empty character that has nothing inside.
-
Sep 23, 2018If you had a good time playing the two previous Tomb Raider games, the same will happen with Shadow of the Tomb Raider. However, its issues with respect to story, characters and the unbalanced gameplay structure show a lack of solid vision on how the trilogy would be implemented, which in no way ends satisfactorily.

Sep 10, 2018This works out as a great balance between the icon-ticking compulsion of a top tier Ubisoft game, with the puzzling chops from a team that have suddenly remembered they were the best in the business. It’s huge and detailed and stupid and probably most of all, fun. Problematic fun, without question.
