Between the fun gameplay, charming writing, retro presentation, and banging soundtrack, River City Girls 2 feels like it takes everything from the first game and does a little bit more and a little bit better. More moves, more characters, online co-op, and better gameplay variety are just a few of the major improvements in this sequel. If you liked the first River City Girls, you’ll love the sequel, and if you didn’t, I would recommend River City Girls 2 to anyone who enjoys beat ‘em ups or just wants a delightfully charming game with lots of laughs.

In the end, though, those nitpicks are minor, and River City Girls 2 is an unequivocal improvement on its predecessor. It builds on the distinct atmosphere of River City Girls and greatly expands its horizons, without losing any of the charm of the original. I don’t know if I’d agree with some of the characters when they claim “Sequels are always better,” but I can say that this sequel definitely is.

River City Girls 2 tops its predecessor in nearly every way with more characters, enhanced combat, cross-platform play, and some of the best music you'll hear in a video game.

It’s a little disappointing, and really quite surprising, that River City Girls 2 shows very little impetus to improve on its promising predecessor. The girls have still definitely ‘got it,’ and still make this colourful and characterful journey worth it through some rough patches, but there’s a little too much reliance on the assets of the original to make it feel worth the rather steep asking price. The original game made a fan of me, while the sequel just about manages to sustain my loyalty, though that will definitely be affected by how WayForward deal with its woeful frame rate issue in the coming weeks.

The same difficulty as the first game, they didn't pull any punches. The soundtracks slaps so hard, same greatness as the first game. There is a Beta version available that fixes the framerate problem - buttery smooth 144 fps for me. Some people say that they didn't change enough from the first game, but I disagree. Just wanted more of the same, didn't need a new direction or anything - and there are new features and mechanics in the game. Expand

Game is fun and soundtrack is incredible. The problem is that the open world is so bad on this kind of games. We are litteraly walking betweenGame is fun and soundtrack is incredible. The problem is that the open world is so bad on this kind of games. We are litteraly walking between zones for 5 min after each missions, plus the low framerate and load screes its so horrible.
You too should focus on the main game and dont make any secondary missions, they are a lose of time to do.
And idk why but we oneshoted the final boss even when we didnt do any secondary mission
