Sick of the developer's greasy business tactics. This game is roughly $110 with all DLC, but even now you can't own the entire game. now you need to either buy drills for stupid tf2 crate knockoffs in order to get all weapon skins, or grind missions for god knows how long.

TL;DR don't buy this game. you'll never own all the content it has to offer.

A the beginning, the game was fun. I was OK with paid DLCs. That was their only way to develop the game more to make it better. Then came the microtransactions. They said they will never implement them, but they did. The reason ? They employed the triple of their team (From 25 to 75 developers). Furthermore, they said "all the content unlocked during the crimefest will be free". Yeah,A the beginning, the game was fun. I was OK with paid DLCs. They employed the triple of their team (From 25 to 75 developers). Furthermore, they said "all the content unlocked during the crimefest will be free". Yeah, free. This isn't free. The fact that the money they earn by selling the main game and the DLCs isn't enough to pay the team may be real. But they lied too much times to us. And this is not the drill we can drop which can change everything. They've just had a bad management of the money. They knew all they earn with what they already did wouldn't be enough to pay all of them. And some skins can boost your weapons. Kind of Pay-2-Win. Almir Listo also said that they will not be removed because the game is already "balanced" without the skins. Seriously, just find another way to make money, not by ruining the game. They lost many important persons of their community and they will not come back. Moreover, PD2Stats, an awesome website made by fans which allowed us to see stats of other PD2 players is now dead because they lied to them.

Trust me, this game does not need peoples to buy more drills. They deserved what is happening to them. They saw something big and now we are walking wallet for them. Do not buy any drills until they find another way to make money without lying to us. Make a negative review on the Steam's Payday 2 Store and show them we are angry about what they did to us.

In the past, i would of recommended this game. Instead, now all you get is pay to win microtransactions in a game you already paid for. Stay the hell away.

Breaking promises to grab more cash, and then completely destroying this game's modding community, as well as putting stat boosts on skins. This game is a husk of what it used to be.

Man Overkill you made a great game it was awesome playing with my friends as we rob random businesses with the Payday gang. All was great until you did the worst thing you could have done added microtransactions. This game has gone from great to horrible.

The Black Market Update and Crimefest 2015 just buried the game. Wish they just kept it the way it was after Hox Breakout. Maybe re-balance some of the guns, but the Pay 2 win Drills, and sniper pistols. the game is messed up

I created an account just to rate this game. The developer had a lot of community goodwill after their first game. The second was hyped and underdelivered a little bit, but people were forgiving. They released a bunch of just okay DLC, and people were forgiving. Then the added microtransactions when they said they would never have them. And the people have had enough.

I used to really enjoy this game and even recommended it to friends. However after the last year or so, with the culmination being the micro transactions, Overkill has slowly turned what was once a great game into one that is barely worth playing. Its disgusting that they have not only done this but continue to ignore their player base by basically giving us the finger in response.

Developers stated there would never be microtransactions, but they were added anyway, on top of the already excessive amount of DLC. I can't recommend this game in its current state.

Avoid this game like the plague. The developers are cartoonish in their greed. Insane amounts of DLC and now, micro transactions.

I thoroughly enjoyed this game for 700 hundred hours. It's a fantastic co-operative experience. However, I don't agree with the creator's business practices. I quit the game 8 months ago, with a bit of vitriol for the "hey, spot us $20 bucks" campaign

Adding pay-to-win elements to the game is comically absurd. Vote with your wallet. Stay away. Add 505/Starbreeze to your lists with EA and Ubisoft.

You foken whuat? According to the Randy Pitchford clone Almir Listo the backlash from the ENTIRE community is some youtubers fault? And i mean THE ENTIRE, not a single person ive spoken with likes the microtransactions, and just look at the reviews on steam! In other words: the devs are **** heads blaming bad things they've done on other people or things as if they are never doing anything wrong. The devs are the most disgusting cash grabbers ive seen(yes they are worse than EA, Activision and Ubisoft). The **** sheer amount of effort they've put on paid dlc to their game while ingoring bugs and adding feauters they promised to be in the game at launch just shows how little they care. I've been offended by this company and Almir for more than 2 years now and so don't anyone **** teel me im not allowed to offend them now. I hope their office gets blown up buy their 2,49€ custom rpg-7. Oh wait it belongs to a dlc so you need to spend another 4,99€ to be able to use that. Adding microtransactions didn't kill the game. The explanation and deployment of said microtransactions did. If they were up front about what they were going to do it could have ended better. If they communicated after the first day fiasco it could have ended better. If they worked out a way to keep the micro and have the community have a bit of a say it could have ended better. Those microtransactions offer hard to get skins that offer stat boosts that were originally on the weapons (they called it a re balance, but it was an intentional UN balance) before the microtransactions occurred, meaning you HAVE to get the skins to get the original stats for that gun before this whole storm of money grubbing! Way to make your loyal fans feel like a used c0ck sock!

Sure, we're angry, but I'm also embarrassed... I'm embarrassed because of being loyal for YEARS to a company, and defending them from people saying they just want money, AND having the developer say he listens to his community, then isn't even willing to compromise (all we wanted was the weapons put back to the original stats and the stat boosting skins gone, I personally would have been ok if it was just skins, but adding stats and changing the stats of the guns so you NEED the skins to perform better is just a curb stomp to my face).

In 2013, producer Almir Listo wrote that "We've made it clear that Payday 2 will have no microtransactions whatsoever (shame on you if you thought otherwise!)"

Great game turned into a cluster f with crimefest 2015.

Devs went back on a promise that much of the community bought into wholeheartedly. Also, adding stat boosts to cosmetics is just ridiculous -- saying "it's PVE, not PVP. Stat boost just help the team!" is a cop out, and a way to milk money from people.

I wanted to like this game, I really did. But when I finally bought it at a friend's urging and started playing, it was kind of disappointing. The game is also plagued with bugs and glitches and just annoyances in general. Why can they not get ladder mechanics right? And why can't these bugs and glitches get fixed?

Oh right, because they're so concerned with making money off of the metric butt ton of DLC that they want to push on you, and now to add insult to injury, they've also implemented microtransactions in the game. I don't understand why they can't do weapon packs and map packs like other, more respectable games do. Instead they flood you with DLC everywhere, a new gun, a new heist, a new heister... it's all too much. Like someone on my Steam friendslist said in their review, 'EVERYTHING IS BEHIND A PAYWALL.' Granted, I know that I don't need to get every DLC myself, but someone has to buy it if they want to play with it. So if it's not me buying it, one of my friends has to.

Basically, other than the in-game downfalls, the amount of DLC (and greed from the developers) has really put me off from the game, and I cannot recommend it to anyone. Once I heard about the microtransaction fiasco, I uninstalled the game for good from my PC.

Oh, and what about the console ports? I heard that those weren't getting any support either, which isn't cool. Seems like there's no options for playing this game, so you may as well not even bother with it.

PayDay 2 is one of the nicest surprises of the year. Overkill Software understands the atmosphere of gangster movies and wisely improves these pieces of gameplay, that might have been disappointing in the first game. The sequel is better in almost every way - you can play a thief and enjoy good character development and shooting systems. I really hope, that PayDay 3 will be even better.
