Overkill lied, cheated and executed cheap business tactics, all for the money. Great game but experience has been ruined by developers. Overkill claimed that they are " discussing this problems with our staffs and community members", but I personally think they are considering whether to impale us deeper with their blade of treachery and deceit.

    >100$ worth of DLCs
    >Insane power creep with DLC weapons
    >Bugs that remain since the freaking pre-release beta from 2013
    >Horrendous communication skills from the developers
    >Goddamn microtransactions, with weapon skins that have stat changes 2 years into the game's life cycle

Once was a good game, then Starbreeze got the gold fever.

I have over 1100 hours in this game, and i love it to death. Unfortunately, they added microtransactions during a free bonus giveway week and screwed us. They promised no microtransactions in writing 2 years ago and now they break it. The game is unbalanced, buggy, and now unplayable essentially. A MINIGUN makes you run faster now.

Greedy developers who broke the game.
"There will be NO micro-transactions in PAYDAY2 !" they said
and now there are expensive skins that boost weapon stats. -.-

This is the first and last product I'll buy from Overkill Softwares. I can no longer trust them after the screw-up of promises. They promised no microtransactions but added it. They promised all content of CRIMEFEST was free. it wasn't.

    First and last.

Micro trans really? When you said there won't be any. Shame on you and everyone that accepted this nonsense. You should know that not only the steam community is mad at you not only is the currently and former players mad at you but players who were thinking of getting the game are mad at you as well.

I really liked the game when it got released and still got free, good content, I spent ~1000 hours in the game and I thought it was worth the money.
But I noticed that less and less dlc's were free or even provided good content, they got overpriced and Overkill broke their promises on a daily basis.
As a result I stopped played Pd2. After I saw that the dlc's are reduced by 75% I

Payday - The Heist, the predecessor of Payday 2 in comparison is a complete game which is hella fun, better spend your money into buying a good, complete game before you end up paying for an unplayable game, which whole reason is to drain money from the players.

Micro-transactions for a 20 USD game with 100+ USD worth of DLC. The micro-transaction skins could be very well behind a DLC wall: you need the DLC in addition to teh skin you just unlocked by chance.
To make it more "fun": the skins have stats.
    No, thank you.

The game at its foundation was quite enjoyable. However, the company milked the game by releasing small DLC at very steep prices, screwing over balance for years on end, and not bothering with a (very much needed) anti-cheat unless it is a hack which allows people to play their paid content for free.

Just now they came back on their decision of not having microtransactions in the game.

Just now they came back on their decision of not having microtransactions in the game. Basically they copy-pasted the CS GO system, but with stats on each skin. They also ruined any notion of balance the game still had at this point.

Also, the engine is outdated and incredibly unoptimized. It was from a racing from 2001 - even though it got improved tremendously since then, it still shows.

Get this game if you can get it (plus most of the DLC) for a few bucks, otherwise don't bother. The game is at the end of its cycle. If you want a game for you to fill this co-op niche, look elsewhere.

They never bothered revamping any part of their engine since launch, but developing a CS GO box system is no prob all of a sudden. Says plenty about this company's mentality. They WILL try to milk you for your cash!

I was a player during 2014 with countless DLCs. Invested lot of cash, even supported Hypetrain (one of the fundraising event for free content) as it had a good idea.

I logged in today just to realize that they have added microtransactions to the game, something I really hated with playing games on my Iphone. Well it's end of Payday 2 I guess.

1/10 is good game bad developers

Seriously though, no microtransactions means NO MICROTRANSACTIONS.

Falsely advertised. I still love Payday, but moneywhoring Overkill is dead to me.

Game was great until they added stat-boosting micro-transactions, after stating this would never happen on multiple occasions, and during what was supposed to be a release of free content. Not acceptable.

I had so much love for this game but the devs took it away since they added micro transactions. Broke a promise by telling us that they would never add micro transactions to the game.

Im sorry overkill, but you guys made a huge mistake.

Isn't it a shame to promise that there will never ever be micro transaction within the game and no less than 2 years after you introduce it ?
Isn't it a middle finger in the face of your customer or is it just false advertisement ?
I don't know, but either way, this is some crappy marketing here.

Shameless developers lying to the community two times in total (CRIMEFEST and about no microtransactions). A couple of years back the overkill developers claimed that Payday 2 would NEVER have microtransactions, and shame on the community if they thought otherwise!

Now 2 years later they have added Microtransactions. They have so far refused to communicate to any degree about this. **** you, Overkill. **** you Starbreeze, who are probably the ones behind this decision.

An excellent game with the potential to top of the world. This opportunity, however is erased by the decision of the incompetent developers at Overkill Softwares.

Microtransactions were promised to never appear. That's why I bought this game.
Bad nasty move by Overkill. The now unified community got together because of you and now they are destroying you as a whole.

"There will be NO microtransactions in payday 2!"

There is microtransactions AND pay2win in payday 2.

Nothing more to say, think before buying a game with no more community.

This game was killed by greedy developers. After we had more than 100$ worth of DLC, we received pay-to-win skin system, thanks Overkill. Community is enraged and won't give up on this crap you served them.

Generally speaking the developers lied and killed the game adding an market system simliar to one used in Valve's team fortress 2 and counter strike:global offensive.

People ignore that Gamecrazy guy as he's a part of the sinking boat yet does not acknowledge it. Big presses, youtubers, reddit, forums have covered that overkill made an unfavorable change.

People like him are why the changes are in the game, they tend to ignore everything and become happy once something free is given to them even if it does not outweigh the bad changes.

Great game, had a lot of fun with co op freinds over the time with it.
But the rising tide of DLC was getting to much for me and now they have gone full cash grab with these Micro-transactions as a 'Reward' for crimefest tasks that the community completed.
So as an individual i feel i have to put up this negative review as a protest.
    SHAME.

PAY2WIN gun stats on the new gun skins which are paid with real cash and via random generator to determine which item is yours. this is gamble and it's very bad.

Today I uninstalled. I had a long run in this game since 2014 when hoxton breakout (one of the older CRIMEFEST) was released. Older CRIMEFEST were good, all content were good.
But not this one. This one means the death of Payday 2.

The lack of microtransactions in the game was a selling point of the game as written in official describe. On october 16 2015 Payday 2 lost its selling point and turned into ruins all in the hands of Overkill.

Overkill has shot themselves in the foots. They've lost two foots now. The new change is obviously a corporation suicide. Stay away from the game otherwise it may shutdown one day.

PayDay 2 is one of the nicest surprises of the year. Overkill Software understands the atmosphere of gangster movies and wisely improves these pieces of gameplay, that might have been disappointing in the first game. The sequel is better in almost every way - you can play a thief and enjoy good character development and shooting systems. I really hope, that PayDay 3 will be even better.

A unique and captivating multiplayer experience that rewards team work over personal glory. But make sure you bring friends for the true experience. [Nov 2013, p.62]
