    It is admittedly simple but still keeps catching me with a delightful tirade of destruction that draws inspiration from classic side-scrollers. It provides a sense of accomplishment through its progression system and is so constantly engaging I may have missed my train stop while reviewing this. If you are interested in losing yourself in the depths of a destructive rage, Octogeddon is out now.

    The game is very easy to understand and easy for anyone to pick up and play thanks to the two-button control scheme. The sparse number of levels can hurt, but the roguelike mechanics keep things engaging and addicting well before you finally open up the endless wave mode. Whether you're a casual or more dedicated player, Octogeddon is worth checking out.

    Any game where you're pondering the optimal setup for a chicken head that shoots egg bombs and a bee homing missile is a-okay with me. I won't be endlessly replaying it, but Octogeddon grabbed me hard for a good while.

    Octogeddon doesn’t have the same charm or polish as Plants VS Zombies, but it’s a refreshing new take on the bullet hell genre. The concept is zany and feels like a thin veil laid over simplistic game mechanics in the vein of Divekick, but the excellent animated cutscenes bring coherence to it all. Ultimately, Octogeddon is a good time-waster, but not much more.

    It is its own unique idea, that while not world-changing or particularly revolutionary, is quietly brilliant in its delivery. I only worry that it’s slightly too quiet.

    This game has lots of charm, and is a unique take on the bullet hell genre, it's in my top 3 games this year!

    This game has fun old rule game. If you like Plant vs Zombie and Insquarium you will like this game because they have similar rule andThis game has fun old rule game. If you already beat the game in hard mode, you will realize that octogeddon is fun and addictive game. The cons of the game is the story is too short, so if you already finish all story, you will find something missing. But i still enjoy the game until end. Maybe add more story in next version will be great.… Expand

    I get the idea - you're supposed to try out different weapons and whatnot through multiple runs through the game. The problem with this in myI get the idea - you're supposed to try out different weapons and whatnot through multiple runs through the game. The problem with this in my opinion is that you have to repeat a lot in order to unlock things but the variety in enemies and thus challenges is not that big. You essentially have three kinds: things that you have to prevent from colliding with you, things that shoot at you and things you have to divert.

    Rather than adding bit by bit like in Plants vs. Zombies and having to deal with new challenges and being essentially done by the end of the game, it feels like a huge grind fest going through the game again and again just to unlock things. Which doesn't really feel satisfying to me. Then again, I didn't enjoy Rogue Legacy for the similar reasons - although... somehow, the variety in enemies and general challenges (due to platforming and whatnot) in that game felt bigger.

    I also don't like the fact that you can't reconfigure your octopus through a run but are stuck with your choices - I don't see the harm in offering that option for a small fee.

    But... it's certainly a unique idea, it's fun for a bit, the humor is quite alright and at about 10$, it's not exactly a huge investment even if you play through it only 2 or 3 times.    … Expand

It is based on mobile games idea of play, collect gems (shells here), die, spend shells for upgrades, play farther, die again, spend gems..... over and over.
    Gets incredibly boring extremely fast. Not recommended at all.    … Expand
