The most profitable 30 euros of my life. It's a good: exploration, survival, construction and adventure game, with a very interesting story. You can play with your friends, even if this is not the initial goal of the game (this is a good plus). A little criticism, you have to hold on to the game at the beginning and pay attention to all the indications because the tutorial is not at all intrusive and it leaves you to your own devices.
For 30€ NMS can't disappoint. If it really tempts you, I'm sure that even if you put 60€ you won't be disappointed, knowing that so far all the updates (including very very big ones) are free!

    In the Beginning:
Hello Games said "This is going to be the biggest and Best multiplayer space exploration game EVER Created!" It was the biggest Space exploration game ever created, and that was true. Still is. However, through many of the scary and crazy fan expectations brought on by pressure from the ad markets and the hype train caused by the trailer and the almost pushed-upon promises, the game was released...with less than half of it finished. It had a vast, beautiful, and atmospheric universe...With nothing in it, except bugs.
If it ended there, I would not be writing this in 2022.
After bad scores, and a flood and just the internet and world being extremely toxic, Hello Games has done what almost no game company had done before or since. (Besides CD Project Red with CyberPunk 2077) Hello games got to work, and went Dark.
Fast Forward almost a year or so and they came out with patch after patch, then an expansion. It added and fixed a LOT. But not enough for some people.
Then another few months, and ANOTHER expansion and patches all throughout.
They began talking again, taking user reviews and suggestions, and fixing their game. It took until now, and I know they are not done, but their game has undergone hundreds of patches or more and 20 of those were named updates. All for Free. Everything promised is now in the game. plus more. Multiplayer in an interesting way, a story, actually there's even side stories now. a player hub, freighters, base building in space, underwater etc...It still seems like there is a long way to go, though they are right now sitting at patch 3.99.1 as of August 19th. It will be releasing on Switch in October. I feel there is another Huge update coming from them soon with how things are going with more space customization. There is also many more modes to play, like permadeath, survival, creative, and Expeditions, which are completely multiplayer where you start out in the same place as everyone else at the same time. Plus you have co op as well. At it's core it is still the same game, so i would love more events to happen, actual NPC bad guys that have ground and space/air battle tactics, and something huge to happen. Even just bigger space wars, pirate groups and real factions added so the aliens feel more like they are a group. So like cities and the like. Did I mention you can become a mayor of a small settlement? No? Well you can lol and also send your fleet off to do missions. yes. Fleet. All in all I will give it a 9 because, Well Done Hello Games.

Well, now days this user score does not give enough credit to Hello Games work. No Man's Sky is even more than they promised, this has been a nice redemption.

Everything they promised at first, is a reality now, even more... Worth to try. Not a 10 because the disaster it was at first.

Maybe it became a bit too easy to get rich by the way.

One thing really surprised me, I remembered what the game looked like, when I started it for the first time in 5 years, I spawned on a cold planet at night with a beautiful sky. The game really became beautiful.

Soon, Starfield will release, seems to have a lot of similarities with No Man's Sky, I could have wait Starfield but honestly I'm glad I gave a new chance to No Man's Sky.

Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion... I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain... Time to die play!

Feels like enough to 'do' to satisfy the occasional aimless wanderer, but not enough to immerse yourself into the galaxy's lore.

I adore this game, but it isn't for everyone. I benefited from not seeing much of the pre-release trailers.

After a few hours locations begin to repeat themselves. After several hours you'll start bypassing locations you already 'know'. And the same eventually becomes true of planets. But there isn't a game that offers what NMS does, for the first dozen-or-so hours of play-time.

Hopefully 'Hello Games' will release more locations, more generative mini-quests, and more easter-eggs to keep things enticing, as well as increased optimisation and unlock PC-options to, for example, heftily increase pop-in distances. Mods are already on the scene, and the modding community will probably 'finish' the game before anyone else does.

Flight is the easy mouse based system and battles are few unless you want them. The views can get a bit samey after a while but still lovely and while there is some grinding to it I prefer that over random drop system some games use.

The method of the story in this is intersting, you go looking for information on planets rather than being hand held through a lienar story, you pick up bits of information slwoly drawing the picture of the univierse and what has gone before.

The trading system is a bit of a mess and I hope that gets some love in the future but it is not essential to progression and the ship looks could do with some customise options.

It could also do with more content to help pass the time sometimes but they have a fairly good base game to build something wonderful on, I'm looking forward to see what they and the modding community does with this.

Bitter nerd rage is common on game releases these days but boy is it over the top for this one. I think it was mostly caused by the inexperience of the developer suggesting features before knowing for certain they could include them at release. Hopefully they'll learn from this and give a lot less information in the future and also be able to include them in future patches..

It plays well and is fun, quickly becoming addictive. the environment can be bland at times, but the creatures and plants are very original. Some attack you and they all do seem to pose as a resource. The crafting system is quite generic , where you select from a menu - minecraft had the most intuitive and interesting crafting system.

The style of the game, from space to the plants are interesting - the music and sound also fits it , given it is chilled and you can expect to pump hours into the game, just like minecraft.

After playing, as I enjoyed Minecraft, I have decided I will buy it when I can – which I did not expect to do previously.

I suspect this is what is causing the frame speed dips for people, despite them having powerful GFX cards.

Playability wise, the game is a little rough round the edges in places, but overall it is compelling. The procedurally generated landscape and creatures is the real star of the show, and it is impressive. The static content is less so.

Aside from that, I'd like to be able to own multiple ships.

I think they should all people to be able to build or implement their own: Base, Home, City, Trade Port; even being able to store ships and massive battleships.

Alien Races could be in massive interstellar wars and players could pick and choose sides to support; even altering the aliens influence in their home systems. This would also be a reasonable way to implement PvP.

It's a lot of work that the Dev's can do to improve and make this one of the best games ever. Just don't expect it to happen overnight.

I love to find that somehow special planet among all the other ones. I love the experience of being the first person ever to discover that particular planet. But perhaps that's just who I am - NMS makes me want to do stuff just for the sake of doing them.

The game just somehow went from overhyped to underpreciated in few days. It's a really good game that had an extremely blown out marketing. That pulled in a lot of people that weren's supposed to be its target, which results in a lot of criticism - some justified, some just extremely toxic and unnecessary.

I'm not giving this game a max grade because of two things - as I said, even though I enjoy the game, some aspects of it are really poorly executed. I hope that sonner or later the developers will come up with something to make the game more deep. I enjoy trading, crafting, fighting, learning languages - but I'd like to have more reasons to do so, or some more mechanics to delve into.

The second thing is the price. Way too high for any game, really. I bought Witcher 3 for a lot less in a cool box with map, stickers and plenty of stuff. I don't see anything about NMS that would justify being more expensive.

Others finding enjoyment in what the game has to offer. One easy way to put this is that this game is not for everyone, it definitely appeals to a specific group of people, People looking for a exciting space shooter with tuns of depth and story should be looking into other games. People who are looking for a very open and atmospheric game with a beautiful art style and endless possibilities will enjoy this game. No Man's Sky doesn't have a set story,Missions or much interaction with the NPC's in it's world and that can ruin part of the game for people but for others who just want to explore the world and enjoy it at there own pace it's fine. I've spent most my time in No Man's Sky going from planet to planet seeing how the weather, systems and other things can have huge factors on what the wild life and plant life was like, also naming everything and making as much money as possible for later in the game. Going from one planet with huge mushrooms and flying eel to another with rolling hills of red grass and massive trees without loading screens and smoothly is something I've wanted to do in a video game for a long time.
Some things No Man's Sky has to offer are up-gradable multi-tool's that you can build to your liking, also have space ships you can customize to be built for fighting ships or mining. Finding a ship with lots of slots and building it up into your dream ship is extremely satisfying and once you start exploring the universe with it you feel like something out of a sci fi movie or novel.
Overall if you enjoy open world games and have the urge to just explore the universe at your leisure you will have fun with this game, But remember I look at this game as something to play after a day of work or something to relax with, you can sit back and just enjoy the stars.

This is the game with great idea, but quite bad implementation at the launch. I strongly believe, that you can polish implementation, and if the idea's great - the game will look very good at the end.
But even with the initial poor implementation, it still allows you to feel space exploration, admire some really astonishing views, and find your own path in the universe

Sean Murray (?) and the media really ruined a good game. I mean I like it a lot and can't stop playing it so I am reviewing here for balance but they totally BS'd about so much with this game, I get it but the more you get into, the more like an onion it becomes. It's an odd mix of exploring and choose your own adventure dialog choices.

The huge universe is a repetitive, lifeless and meaningless place, no amount of random generated creatures can change that. The most unforgivable fail is making the spaceship such a pain to fly, which makes exploring the vast universe simply a chore. However, at its best the game is epic and many of the issues should be easy to fix, so this might not be the end of the journey after all. [Sept 2016]
