    Meteorfall: Krumit’s Tale manages to create a gaming experience that works in every way. Its gameplay is composed of simple, concrete rules, and highly engaging action. The generous diversity of its protagonists, added to its competent character progression system, will make us return again and again to explore this fantasy world, despite it can become hugely difficult at times.

    While Meteorfall: Krumit's Tale was designed for computers, elements of its mobile origins are still present. The entire game takes place directly in front of Krumit, which limits the sense of exploration. It's not as deep as other games in both the deck-building and roguelike genres, but at $15 it's well worth the price. Developer Slothwerks has confirmed the game will come to mobile platforms eventually, too, where it could be a huge hit. Until then, players can brave the dungeons of Meteorfall: Krumit's Tale on their computers and be confident they've picked up a worthwhile adventure in the process.

    Simple rules, addictive gameplay, and lots of charm make Krumit’s Tales easy to recommend to anyone, regardless of age. It’s not perfect (could use some more variety in the classes and combat departments), but on the other hand it might be the most stylish deck-building roguelike I’ve encountered. [10/2020, p.84]

    Meteorfall is my current favourite card battler, which is saying something as I play a lot of them. Everything is great - charming graphics, slick interface and it’s easy to learn.

    Easy to learn doesn’t mean easy to master. There are five heroes and they each play very differently. Don’t be fooled if you breeze through with the first hero, lots of challenge awaits. I’ve got over 30 hours in the game and have won on normal difficulty with all the heroes. I still play some of the daily challenges.

    For those who dislike excessive randomness in their card battlers, that isn’t an issue here. Before you start a battle you will know how things will go, the game is mostly deterministic. The game plays like no other card battler I’ve played, which is good. Much as I like Slay the Spire, I don’t want to play another clone and this game definitely isn’t a clone.

    I’ve also been playing Monster Train, a much more well known card battler. While I enjoy Monster Train I prefer Meteorfall.    … Expand

Each character has only a few cards to unlock, and increasing levels of difficulty don't give rise to anything new. The devs keep putting out new 'mutations' or game modes, but it does little to nothing to address the root issue: that there is no sense of building toward anything, of persistent accomplishments, or of increasing difficulty yielding increasing (or ANY) rewards. Make no mistake, this is a very good game. A great game? It might not have that ambition.… Expand
