    I found the initial problem for a lot of users is that the first dozen hours are slow as you set yourself up and learn the optimal controls/ tactics/ lore

    But when you've invested time you get left with a beautifully slick product that is as much a work of art as it is a game. The combat - which previously seemed slow and boring - is AMAZING. Eventually, when you''re a high enough level you can create multiple combat profiles you can swap between depending on which enemies you face - affecting your abilities, powers, ideal weapon choice etc. The movement in this game - initially sluggish - when you master your sprint, jump jet and dash enables you to whip in and out of enemies and to go to scans/loot. Even the NOMAD presenting problems as you learns its capacity and buy its upgrades.

    The beauty of this game is it is a RPG and you're in a new galaxy with no idea what's going on - sounds pretty similar to your current position as a gamer. This actually helped me engage in the game as i wanted to delve into the THOUGHT-PROVOKING storyline/ themes (spoiler - they are amazing and the ideas the story presents might very well soon be real-world issues: automated workforce/ AI?!. I found once i slowed down my gameplay - took time to explore the the various dialogue choices all around our starting position and even reading the codices! When you've got your research, development, leveling, scanning, combat, inventory, looting, dialogue and movement sorted the game is beautiful: it just takes time to get this(and your ship) set up.

    I think the reason this game is getting poor reviews is due to a 'fast food' culture we see ourselves in: Max enjoyment in minimal time. But if you take time to appreciate the game and story and learn the mechanics you're left with the most incredible game I've ever played.

    This game has so much complexity and depth - delivered so well that it's a massive disappointment seeing bad reviews for a AAA game. Opinion: i'm worried this might lead developers away from creating games with such complexity and depth until you are left with dumbed down console ports.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I have to say that I understand the negative reviews as the game has more than several bugs especially the desert map which is really bugged and force you to reload your saves for about 60% of the missions because an NPC will be underground or something else. But apart from that, this game is fabulous, I love it! The story could be better but the exploration and the fights are pretty good. If you try to finish a planet as much as possible and don't swap too often between planets (which is a real pain) then this is an excellent game is maybe not the best PC Game of 2017 but would definitely be in the top 10. Bit tired of medieval open world RPG's, ME-A is unique in this category where practically there's no other AAA Sci-Fi, RPG, open-world(ish) game. This is a reason enough for me to rate this game a good score. Just for the effort.

    Yes, it feels like it's a rushed game, like released to early or like you're playing an early beta but ME fans like me are thankful to Bioware for continuing the saga.

    All and all the game together with its flaws is not bad, it's GREAT actually. It's not like the flaws are preventing you from enjoying this great game. It's just that people are comparing it to The Wicher 3 which is perfect and ahead of any other game in any category. Yet, I lost interest in mid game in The Witcher 3. I didn't care enough for the story or the quests to continue it. Maybe because as I said earlier in the beginning I'm tired of medieval, sword fighting look-alike games anymore.

    But, there's another reason I rated it higher then maybe it deserves. It's the first ME game that's open almost as other open-world games and it's a Sci-Fi and has 100+ hours of gameplay.

    Inventory and equipment organization could be better. Maps can be better and a minimap could be very useful! Some minor changes would be welcomed like the 'M' keystroke to be able to close the map and not pressing ESC twice. And of course the character animations are outdated. But as I said, I love the game, I pre-purchased it and didn't regret it.

Maybe if I hadn't heard so much about it before going into the game it wouldn't have been so noticeable, but it absolutely does detract from some of my favorite parts of the game so far; the cinematic cut scenes. I will also add that all the skill trees and profiles and yada yada yada are just too damn much for me... If Bioware kept putting the same game out over and over again they would get criticized for that. Remember how everyone hated the streamlined RPG elements in mass efffect 2? Now they hate the complexity of the crafting. For the first time in Mass Effect I get the feeling of exploration and in depth crafting. The visuals are beautiful. The combat is enjoyable and the variety of armor, mods, and weapons is awesome. I have not finished the game but so far the story is good. I think with time people will give this game a chance and recognize how good it is. I only hope the criticism doesn't make Bioware simplify and dumb down the next one. There are some visual bugs but so far they have been no worse than the other games in the series. Expand

    Let's get the cons out of the way first.

    There's animation jank and some buggy UI stuff. The crafting system is denser than it should be. Some of the faces are squarely in uncanny valley territory. There's a lot of sidequest padding. The game is slow to hook you. But once you get used to that, there's a great story here, with genuinely laugh-out-loud funny writing in some places,

    The problems with this game can be fixed with a patch or two, and once you get used to the uncanny valley faces and animation issues (took me about 3-4 hours), there's a solid core with a good storyline and great characters.

    It's not BioWare's greatest game ever, but even average BioWare games are great, great games.

I've played all 3 previous ME titles many times through and while this isn't quite as good as the previous series (nostalgia could be biasing my opinion a bit here) it's a great game in itself. The vehicle exploration is a joy and the planets are amazing looking. I love the combat system, especially the biotics combat and the sniper rifles. There are some things I'd like to see improved or added to the game that being said. The 'from space' planetary exploration is a bit mundane and lacking a sense of discovery and exploration. The map is a bit wonky sometimes not letting me set my personal waypoints exactly where I click, resulting in me clicking elsewhere on the map until the waypoint shows up where I want it. Lastly, a lack of indicator that you've completed all the conversation tree options on a given individual is annoying, and results in many "Hi"/"Bye" conversations that I don't feel are really necessary if a better indicator system was in place.

    Overall, I'm really enjoying the game and looking forward to where they take this game and its planned expansions.

A bunch of morons decided that Bioware made the female characters in Andromeda ugly on purpose to appeal to those pesky SJWs. Bioware is also apparently racist because while there ARE Caucasian skin tones in the character creator, they're not quite white enough which is oppressive to the white male or something. Yes, this whole sorry affair is as cringy and embarrassing as it looks. My conclusion is that these boys were way too young to play any previous Mass Effect games because if they were old enough back then, they could remember that women in Mass Effect (and Dragon Age, for that matter) have always looked quite bad. Hell, femShep in the first and second game looked awful. Her redesigned version in ME3 looked really hot - but only in the cinematic trailer and on the cover art. The actual in-game model looked nothing like what they promised. Bottom line: Bioware is just being the same old Bioware they have always been, but little boys can't deal with it.

    With that out of the way, how is the actual game? Surprisingly good, actually. I've sunk about 30 hours into it so far and I'm nowhere near done, but I already love it. The premise is simple: a number of space ships (or "Arks") leave our solar system during the events of the original Mass Effect trilogy to look for a new home in the Andromeda galaxy. Their goal is to search for viable planets and colonize them. The travelers spend 600 years in cryosleep, and when they wake up things definitely aren't as simple as they expected. The Ark the new protagonist Ryder is traveling on arrives more than a year after the others. The Nexus (which is this game's version of the Citadel) is barely alive, several other Arks got lost in space and crash landed who knows where, and the planets people hoped to colonize are deadly. There are also new threats: hostile aliens known as "kett" and "the Scourge", an artificially created space phenomenon that destroys everything in its path. Ryder's goal is to deliver what the Andromeda Initiative promised: terraform planets, build colonies, bring people back from cryo, and create a new home for the future generations.

    Now I must mention the elephant in the room: yes, the character models and animations in this game are sub-par, the facial animations in particular. It's nowhere near as bad as people make it sound, but it's definitely disappointing. Bioware games have always had glitchy animations, awkward facial expressions and less than attractive females, but it's the year 2017 and one would hope there was some progress on that front. Alas, we still have Mass Effect 1 levels on quality 10 years after the first game was released. Female Ryder's default in-game model was disappointing in particular, but 30 hours into the game it actually grew on me and I think she looks quite cute.

    Mass Effect has always been more about the characters' personalities rather than their looks, though, and Andromeda still delivers. Fryda Wolff as Sara Ryder is definitely a worthy successor to Jennifer Hale's Shepard. She's younger and less experienced than Shepard, and she's endearingly awkward (especially when she flirts), but she's also snarky, funny and pretty cool when she wants to be. Wolff's delivery is spot on and femRyder has quickly become one of my most favorite ME characters thanks to her amazing voice work. The whole main voice cast is very strong. Christine Lakin (yes, the little girl from Step by Step) is shockingly good as Peebee. Katy Townsend is here too for those of us who can't get enough of the Cheeky Scot, and Natalie Dormer as Lexi T'Perro is amazing as expected, though I can't help it but feel her talent is a bit wasted. They brought in Natalie effing Dormer and all they have her do is voicing a minor character you can't even romance. She should have been a squad mate.

    There are 6 squad mates in total, all of them likeable and appealing in their own way. Not all of them are as fleshed out as they'd deserve, but Andromeda is just the first game in a new series and I'm sure we will learn more about them in time. You can also romance them as usual, but while the sex scenes are slightly more graphic this time around, they're also very, very awkward.

    The game is well optimized on PC, too. I have an old GTX 970 G1 which is definitely not cutting edge anymore, and the game looks amazing with a rock solid framerate at all times. The sound design and music are great as well.

    Final verdict: Andromeda is a damn good game. There are things I don't like (limited character creator, confusing mission tracking, crafting system, the lengthy animations you have to watch when traveling from planet to planet, weird character models and facial expressions), but if you get over these flaws the overall experience is enjoyable. Oh, and the new MAKO is really, really fun to drive this time around!

    The good: Exploration is fun, feeling overall is good. There will be some memorable moments, trust me. Graphics are good, but not top of the line. There's plenty of quests and stuff to do, so much in fact that you might lose track at some point. Combat is good and feels natural.

    The bad: Facial animations are not so good. Dialogues and story are ok-ish, but still could've been better. The game will randomly freeze. Like 1-2 times every 10 hrs or so. There will be some glitches too, see through kind of glitches, but nothing very painful.
    Enemy phisiology is rather boring, looks like a regular person with a brocolli instead of head, not very imaginative. I think that going to another galaxy, exploring should've been more of seeing new stuff and while planets do look pretty alien-ish, the actual aliens do not. I think we can move a bit from the bipedal, humanoid forms.... it's getting old and overdone. Let's use our imagination a bit and try more diverse aliens, 4 feet, no head, tentacles, that sort of stuff.

    Conclusions: Play for yourself and leave all the haters behind. The game is good and enjoyable. There's always going to be people screaming that something is not good or they want it the other way, but as long as you have fun just don't listen to all the negative vibes around.

    Hater hating, gamers playing. Everyone hate this game because they don't like facial animations, but gameplay is very good and evolution ME formula. Its Mass Effect, but new and everything makes better. And nostalgic go **** off, ME3 is not so much good game. I remember on release everyone hate it, now its same witch Andromeda, lets see what happens in few years.

It is about the new settlement in an alien galaxy: Andromeda. In this there are various strange planets to discover and after all to really settle. So survivalable stations are to be built. Numerous difficulties are to be overcome in teamwork. Dramatically threatening dark forces (eg the species of Ketts) the settlers - a tough competition for life resources. Often it is necessary to care for the lives of the peaceful settlers and to defend them. So it is a mixture of tactically challenging adventure and rapid action - not a simply shooting game, but a training forming experience and the hanger of settlers: because rules must be respected, foresight and tolerance are well-maintained values. Thats why it is more than a game with entertainment value. The characters pursue an intelligent mission: the roleplayer as Sara Ryder gets a sense of the responsibility for the many expectant people who are together with her in search of a better world. Andromeda means hope for each of them. This transports the game perfectly. It becomes a very empathetic experience. The elaborate graphics and enjoyable sounds support this. Everything is coherent and Andromeda awakens through the game more and more to life. The gaming scope is gigantic, but to overlook, because there are also clear maps and enlightening log books and so on. Many well-founded and subtle animations make the story an impressive experience. In the end there is nothing less than the survival or the end of humanity - the fate in a new world, Andromeda.

    Update:
    If not superficial/trivial reflection is operated, Mass Effect Andromedea will be the game of the year 2017!
    The balanced blend of worlds-simulation, scifi-fantasy, adventure, action, culture, fun, seriousness and humanity's fate makes this gigantic HighEnd-Video&Sound next Generation game unique. In substance, multidimensionality & diversity there is actually nothing comparable. Finally the saturated coolness-arrogance-animated characters are overcome and out. The rogues coolness taste is stripped, lovable explorers & trustworthy ambassadors are born. The gamedeveloper team has the courage to unfeigned honest cosmopolitanfigures as peaceful worldconquerors, which is currently most important. The excellent synchronization in so many languages corresponds with this. From all this is MEA a considerable cultural masterpiece in next-gen-Gaming.

    I also must say that anyone who rates this game below 5 is a pure troll and his/her score is not viable in any way. The developers put SO MUCH effort into creating this world/ all those characters etc, there is so much to do in this game , I can understand that someone may not like it, but this game offers so much that it's not possible to mark it below 5 unless you are totally unfair

    However to be fair I must say there are several small bugs (like enemies disappearing after loading a save) and some of the actions are really repetitive or could be done much better, but I undestand that this would take probably twice as much development, but some of the potential is wasted for sure.

    Mass Effect... One of the most amazing and immersive space opera's in gaming, ever. Yes, it borrows some idea's from our beloved science fiction classics. But who cares? Yes, it borrows some idea's from our beloved science fiction classics. But who cares? It is a game, not a novel. Our chance to interact with those amazing worlds and people, we fantasize about. That is what made me fall in love with this series. A series that was developed as an RPG game with action elements. But, very important, an RPG game. And that is what Andromeda gave us. A spiritual successor to Mass Effect 1 and i daresay Kotor. I loved Mass Effect 2, but i disliked the amount of rpg elements they took out. But they gave us narrative and character building rarely seen in games.

    Then came 3... And nobody was happy. They removed the soul of this series. Catering to the action gamers with an attention span, that forces them to buy cod games every year. It was linear, worldbuilding was non-existent. It didn't provide the experience i like to escape into. Trying to appeal to a public that does not really care about the game.

    I have to say, i am pretty disgusted by the reviews i read about Andromeda. People act like it's murderous poison, that someone tried to force them to swallow. Andromeda has obvious problems. But you have to appreciate the love this dev team poured into this. From the unforgiving colds of voeld, to the sad state of the nexus. They tried to merge the best parts of mass effect 1 with the best parts of mass effect 2 and 3. And if you look a bit closer and experience this game. Looking beyond the subpar animations and the obvious feminist and diversity elements forced into it. It is actually a fantastic experience, loads better then 3. I feel like i am in a scifi novel again. Living on the wayfarer or firefly. Observing the shrike or trying to survive a planet like arrakis. Looking beyond it's fairly ugly shell, there is a fantastic experience waiting to surprise you. It would be a mistake to miss it.

It builds on some of the best elements of the previous trilogy and it does a very good job at that. Even aften the 1.05 patch the game does still have a few technical flaws, but these are minor compared to the massive and negative internet hype that surrounded the release version of the game.

    Random thoughts on what I like about the game:
    - Exploring is a thrill and the new worlds are beautiful and intriguing. Park your surface vehicle on the top of a massive dune and admire the dessert vista that unfolds before you. Or explore an ice cavern on foot and listen to the melodic sound of the strange creatures that lives beneath the frozen surface. Venture through the thick brush of the jungle but keep a lookout for the aggressive predators that lurk there...
    - Combat is fast paced and elegant, allowing for many different approaches to the tight spots you find yourself in...
    - The writing and narrative is solid - and at times excellent! A few weird blurbs may appear, but the game is massive and generally both the ambient chatter as well as the dialogue are great for setting the tone of this adventure.
    - I really like the squamates as well as the various NPCs you encounter. There is some real depth there and a lot of shades of grey. Personal favorites are Drack and the Mosjae...
    - The gameworld is both incredibly grim and with the promise of hope. And if you take your time and consider, the story raises some interesting questions about the colonialism, artificial intelligence and the human condition.

    There's some glitchy animation, but that's true in every ME game ever. Bioware's strength is their stories and they do not disappoint this time around. The story is solid, engaging and has moments of hilarity as well as sadness. Combat is also leaps and bounds improved and far more entertaining than in previous ME games.

    I just finished my first play through and I can't wait to run through it again.

    Pros:
    Well written speech and decent voice work especially considering the amount of dialogue in this game.

    Action oriented combat allows for more varied active game play.

    Best class customization options in the series with all active skill trees available from the start and the ability to change specializations on the fly.

    Largest selection of weapons and armors options in the series with even more varied customization with augments and mods.

    Environment art on planets is gorgeous and the draw distance is amazing.

    Automatic cover system actually works.

    The game runs very well for me on 970 with a steady frame rate.

    Cons:
    Terrible facial animations and some lip sync issues.

    Confusing Menus. Crafting system while robust is a mess to navigate same with the quest log. Leaving skill tree and map take one step longer than they should, design was obviously form over function with consoles in mind.

    Unless I am missing something you cannot hotkey consumables you have to tab weapon wheel to activate

    Some Glitches, I had an enemy that I needed to kill for a quest fall through map forcing me to restart the area and had a minor side quest reappear after it was completed.

    Traveling from planet to planet can be a bit tedious as there is an un-skippable animation that takes over 20 seconds each time you travel through space.

    Control over squad mates has been drastically diminished as you can’t cue their abilities in combat or equip them with different weapons/armor.

    (I haven’t finished the story so I am not ready to comment on it yet but I can say that generally I am intrigued with what is going on and like how my actions tend to have a lasting impact on the environments.)

    Unfortunately, ME:A is unable to match the heights of its predecessors as the obvious negatives such as the animation quality really put a damper on Mass Effect’s traditionally strong immersive world building. That being said the game play here is still pretty solid with good dialogue options, meaningful choices, combat that has never felt so solid, and an actually fun to drive Rover. This game needed more polish and it’s a shame that EA felt the need to rush this out the door by the end of q1 as it could have really shined with a little more work. Even as things stand I have really enjoyed my time with Andromeda and plan to continue playing it to completion. I hope that they are able to build off this foundation in later entries because there is actually a really amazing game here with some refinement.

    - sometimes dialogs are quite meaningless and full of "typical blockbuster" lines;
    - can't say about the whole story, but for now in general plot is trivial;
    - angara seem trivial as well;
    - need to go "deeper" to see great sides of game.

    PROS:
    - all animations (except facial, obviously) are nice and reminding of the trilogy (oh, that Shepard dance);
    - non-main missions and quest lines are soo exciting! Haven't got all that tedious colonisation stuff as expected!;
    - loyalty missions are AWESOME! 11/10 And there's not only one quest for each companion!;
    - lots of interesting conversations and interactions - with companions (especially!) and other NPCs;
    - romances with thrilling story beyond the Tempest ;з
    - beautiful landscapes, beautiful design;
    - Nomad can climb everywhere. No ****
    - Tempest is magnificent. Those views... The crew isn't stuck in one room, no more loadings;
    - jetpack is just PERFECT;
    - dynamic fights, never getting bored;
    - attention to the details is really incredible;
    - easter eggs!;

    Gran continuación de la saga Mass Effect. Retoma esa vertiente de descubrimiento y enfrentarte a lo nuevo que tenia ME1, sin dejar de lado una historia épica. El juego va cargado de información, con muchas conversaciones y de nuevo un enorme códice, que es perfecto para introducirse más en el lore si quieres. Graficamente es impresionante a niveles generales salvo por las caras de los personajes más secudarios, que estan poco cuidadas.
    En cuanto a misión, la historia principal me encantó y las secundaria con trama tambien, pero hay algunas misiones de "recadero" como suele pasar en este tipo de juegos que pueden hacerse más pesadas. Técnicamente no son misiones secundarias, pues se agrupan en el apartado "tareas" y son eso, tareas de poca relevancia y poca recompensa, yo simplemente pase de ellas y me centre en las verdaderas secundarias, algunas con tramas muy interesantes, similares a lo que se puede ver en Witcher 3, pero sin llegar a ese nivel.
    En cuanto al tema de bugs, en unas 50h de juego solo he tenido uno: durante una conversación el personaje con el que hablaba se marchó y continué hablando con la "nada".
    En tema de rendimiento, lo he jugado en un PC con i7 6600K, 16GB RAM y Nvidia 1070 a resolución 2k a 60fps en ultra sin caidas, pero no podría decir como estar optimizado para un con un par de años de antigüedad.

    Lo mejor
    -Historia y ambientación: Puro Mass Effect
    -Gran cantidad de conversaciones, pads de datos y entradas del codice por si quieres profundizar en el lore
    -Secundarios memorables
    -Graficos impresionantes (salvo en aspectos puntuales)
    -Sistema de combate agil, interesante y personalizable

    Lo peor
    -Las caras de los personajes menos relevantes desentonan demasiado, parecen sacadas de un juego de hace 10 años
    -Las Tareas simplemente sirven para alargar el juego artificialmente y son poco gratificantes: Podrían haberse suprimido y dejar simplemente las misiones principales, las de lealtad y las secundarias
    -La animación de viaje entre planetas es demasiado lenta

    - The game has extremely fun combat and exploration is done really well.
    - As far as the animations go They are about as good as I would expect from a Mass Effect game, as none of the games have been cutting edge in the animation or graphics department.
    - The story is good so far though I'm only eight hours in at the time of writing, and I haven't experienced any sjw politics that a lot of people are complaining about in those eight hours so suffice to say that they aren't prevalent in the game.
    - The leveling is about the same as ME3 but with ever skill tree open to you

    All in all the game isn't on the same level as the original trilogy, but rarely are these type of games. It seems to suffer from typical day 1 issues combined with BioWare's meh faces, and if you're looking for the shiniest most polished game then this is not the game for you. If you looking for a return to old school ME then this probably isn't for you. But, if you're looking for a fun game that you can explore and enjoy then this is a game worth getting.

    The first launch of the game rendered a black screen, which after some research discovered it was a bug that could be fixed by going into windows mode. Ok, not a good start but fair enough.

    First animations... Yes, they are not polished. ME1-3 had far less facial expressions (barely non-existant) but while in MEA they are technically better (faces actually can move in the same way a real face would do), they fail to mimic real expressions with awkward movements and, most of times, wrong ones. This, however, didn't break the experience for me as I play with helmets on most of the time :D

    Story... ok, average. It's not bad, it keeps you engaged, but fails to impress. If it was a book or movie it'd be a boring one. It has the components (mystery, tension, drama) but follows too many cliches from other games and characters seem to be a bit less intense/important than previous ME.

    Conversations seem to be a bit weak. I remember in ME that I loved the options to speak and would laugh at the outcome. Here most times I struggle to find an option I don't dislike. And some times you pick just one and it has undesired unexpected consequences. It's like the conversation paths were created by different people and then merged together.

    Gameplay is nice, it feels like others ME. It has some annoying things like maps, bad management (IMHO) of inventory, and the damn boring scanning which feels like that component you add to a game so that people it takes players longer to finish the game but doesn't actually add anything to it.

    When it comes to the exploration it seems they went back to the scheme of ME:1, with the player having to spend plenty of time on land with the Nomad trying to find places. Not my cup of tea but might work for some.

    Same goes for crafting, it feels like it's another thing I have to spend plenty of time with in order to enjoy the game. Some people might like this, but to me, having to spend time in front of a menu so that I can have a new weapon is boring.

    The game definitely feels weaker than previous series in terms of polishment and general value / quality, but if you enjoyed the previous ME and you are not in hate mode you will definitely enjoy this one but if you have high expectations there is a chance it might disappoint you.

    Overall it feels like they did rush the game and didn't actually test it on real (not part of the development team) testers to get feedback before release.

    One of the biggest problem are the animation bugs and deliberately ugly characters. Encountering animation bugs is not fluke or happens by chance the just exist. However the worst of them seem to appear in the first three hours of the game. It also seems that the developers tried to make human npcs espescially ugly. Which is also a problem for the character creator. There are only a few templates which are good enough for character creation at least for creating a male character. Additionally there is something wrong with the human eyes of the characters. They don't have no reflection, are to big and too wide open. In general fixing the eyes would already make the game a lot better visually. However other than that the game is beautiful. The planets and environments look great and the alien races look better than ever.

    UI and Menus
    At first the UI and menus are very overwhelming. I can only talk here about my personal expirience. After some time I got used to it. Using the keyboard to navigate the menus instead of the mouse is very efficient and fast. All in all interfaces for sure need improvements but bad menus and interfaces in AAA games seems to be a trand lately.

    Gameplay
    Gameplay is good and fun. However I am very much used to the cover mechanic of ME3. So I don't use the jet pack as often as I probably should in combat. I prefer to stay in cover and shoot from a medium distance. Also I sometimes "break cover" by just moving to much to the side. This doesn't happen to often so it is just a minor annoyance.
    A new addition to the series is crafting which allows you to customize your armor and weapons. There are lots of armor and weapon types to craft. All with different attributes. Armors can benefit different specializations (biotic, soldier, tech) or they can have more general stats. All inall there are a lot of customizations options with the crafting menu. Probably every armor or weapon you've seen in the Mass Effect franchise can be crafted and equipped and modified with auguments. For all those options it is a pity that you can't equip your squad with the equipment you can craft.
    Another new feature is the skill system. It allows for four different profiles to freely switched around. The player can learn every skill and add 3 of them to every profile - there is no class restriction for learning the skills.
    Exploration seems to be the new focus of the gaming series. Most of the maps can be explored with the Nomad a vehicle which can be upgraded in various ways. The maps countain various activities and quests. At times the amount of quests can be overwhelming. The quality of quests vary greatly and probably depends personal preference.

    Conclusion
    All in all the game is can be a pleasant expirience when you can get past the biggest problem - the animation and hideous looking NPCs.

    Antes de comprarlo guiándome por las criticas y comentarios me esperaba un bodrio de juego y pensaba que habían arruinado la saga como paso tantas veces con millones de juegos clásicos que marcaron épocas. Repito lo compre por el nombre y nada más y me lleve una grata sorpresa.
    llevo mas de 90 horas enganchado y puedo decir que el juego esta muy bueno, tanto o mejor que la trilogía de shepard. la verdad no entiendo las criticas negativas. si bien el juego tiene algunos bug y el modelado de personajes en las conversaciones en primer plano no esta a la altura de los anteriores el juego compensa con muchas mejoras en otros aspectos y pienso que como punto de partida de una nueva saga es exelente y tienen mucho para ofrecer.
    en resumen lo que me gusto:
    + graficos (en calidad ultra los escenarios se ven hermosos)
    + historia principal (sin ser magnifica esta bien llevada y atrapa)
    + jugabilidad
    + efectos de sonido y música (cumplen su función sobradamente sin llegar a ser espectacular)
    + juego muy largo horas y horas de diversión ( si bien es lógico en estos juegos las misiones secundarias se dividen en unas muy buenas e interesantes y otras repetitivas y vacias)
    lo que no me gusto:
    - el editor de personajes muy limitado (la verdad no te deja crear un personaje a tu gusto)
    - el modelado de personajes en primer plano en las conversaciones. (dejan bastante que desear aunque nada tan horrible como la critica quiere hacer creer. Aparte en ningún momento arruinan la experiencia de juego..)
    - un problema puntual que hace que el juego a veces se congele cuando estamos terminando con un enemigo (critical shot) (con una gtx 970 y 16gb de ram el juego se mueve estable a 60 fps en ultra por lo que no veo problemas de optimización en el juego el tema es un error puntual que hace que el juego se congele unos segundos cuando estamos por matar algún jefe final por ejemplo.)
    En conclusión :
    para ser un juego tan grande es normal que tenga sus errores y problemas que solucionar y mejorar en próximas entregas; también es normal que teniendo la vara tan alta con la trilogía anterior nos pongamos exigentes y sean inevitables las comparaciones pero les puedo decir que el juego esta a la altura de un mass effect con todas sus letras.

This game is stuffed full of content however, 53 hours in and I've still not finished however 53 hours in and I've only just gotten the Villains motives which is far too late into the game.
    In all honesty, if Mass Effect games are going to be like this from now on then I'd be happy if this is the last one. Whilst it's a nice reminder of what the previous games had to offer and whilst there are some good bits to this game, it's not something I'd want to play again. If Bioware are to learn anything from this, it is that they can't rush out these games. Again personally I feel it's not as bad as people are saying, there is some good in this game but it is a very flawed game.

    Another amazing adventure from the brilliant folks at Bioware furthering the Mass Effect franchise.

    Mass Effect: Andromeda is set in a parallel timeline to the earlier trilogy--that is, in the future, but with a backstory whereby the Milky Way had an "initiative" to go about exploring and seeding another galaxy shortly before ME:3 began. It took over 600 years to make the journey in cryo sleep. When they arrive--the beginning of Andromeda--they discover that there's more going on in this new galaxy than they anticipated. They're most certainly not the first sentient life. In fact, there are three new species already there that they have to deal with--good guys, bad guys, and one you never get to meet but you enjoy their toys, just like the Protheans in ME:1. Plus perhaps a fourth, whoever caused "the scourge", but said "scourge" is all you ever see from them.

    Speaking of which, there are some major holes in the lore here. In ME:1, the ability to traverse the galaxy was given only by way of the mass effect relays, since no ship has the built-in capacity to travel that far so quickly without a relay. But in ME:A, all ships, even shuttles, can pop around the galaxy without any relay. Space travel is just a simple button push. There aren't even any conflicts with power shortages blocking hyperspace travel.

    "Why bother with all that 'rules of science' sci-fi garbage if the goal is to have fun, right?", I imagine the leads at Bioware saying. Suspension of disbelief is lost on the intellectual.

    And then there is the issue of holes in crew introductions. In the trilogy, crew members are usually properly introduced. In ME:A, most of the introductions are tossed aside. Some strange "people" are on "your ship" (speaking of which, no introduction for the ship, either), go grab a gun and go exploring with your new stranger friends. That's a pretty rocky start. By the end of the game, I completed all the "Allies and Relationships" missions and ended up feeling like I knew my crew a lot better, so that makes up for a lot. But it still happened that there were no introductions, and for that I steal a point.

    There also seems to be an annoying routine among the fanbase where homosexual and interspecies sex seems to be the standard goal for half of the players. I find that disgusting. Look, just because LGBT SJW's have been making a lot of "progress" in advancing both the rights and the hearts and minds of people around the world doesn't mean that alienating the traditional heterosexual crowd who prefer also their own skin color should be forced to experience gay or interspecies come-ons on a repeated basis.

    Speaking of existing fanbase, the ME trilogy fans are a spoiled lot. Most of the negatives here are dramatically overreaching. The fact is, this is a very beautiful and fun game, very much a part of the Mass Effect franchise--it fits well, without violating the ME:3 backstory ending. It's engaging, and the general plot works for me. Several details do not. I don't like all of the writing. I don't like how background smalltalk chatter gets interrupted because you run or drive over poorly planned trigger points. I didn't feel that the end game celebrations and declarations of "we did it" were appropriate considering WHERE THEY WERE. But this game had my full attention for two good weekends, and I enjoyed the ride. Games don't usually keep me so engaged.

    All the vibe of fresh and new from Mass Effect 1 is here... Of course the game isin't a Mass Effect 2 kind of perfect, but I don't want it to be... It works by itself as Andromeda and the new universe can have many things in the future.

    It’s hard not to be emotional about Mass Effect: Andromeda. You can see this from the huge number of negative user reviews. Although Mass Effect 2 did not live up to the sci fi chops of Mass Effect 1, and Mass Effect 3 did not live up to the intensely personal and emotionally engaging Mass Effect 2, the original trilogy remains a landmark Bioware effort. Expectations were high.

    The 0-10 scale is obviously flawed. But I cannot bring myself to review this game anything lower than a 6. It has its problems, but within the American grading system, 0-5 signifies a failing (non)effort. Despite some noticeable bugs, I did not encounter any game-breaking ones (your mileage may vary). ME: A was rushed, but it is not a literally broken game.

    This is not high praise. In fact, ME: A is a bad game, and if you value your time, you should not play it. When I play an RPG, first and foremost I expect some engagement with the story and the characters. An RPG is not only about its systems; its about role-playing within the given constraints of the game. And I cannot role-play with ME: A’s clichéd, uninteresting plot and terrible, forgettable cast. Even if you look over the problems with animation (it’s truly horrible, watch on Youtube for entertainment) and voice-work (the talent were phoning it in); the writing itself is untenable. There is no forward momentum. The gameplay systems function in a workmanship manner independent of context: combat is fine, the quest system sets up an addictive gameplay loop. But there is no soul to the game that makes you want to engage with these systems. And that is ME: A’s major sin.

    So, because of the god awful coop mode that is simply broken and full of Micro transactions, I decided to rate 7/10 which is extremely sad considering this is MASS EFFECT!! And should live up to its legacy and is disappointing but for fans it is still a solid RPG experience.

    Single Player

    Its buggy and glitchy, although I only really experienced a couple of minor issues with getting stuck on surfaces which fast travel fixed and another bug when using fast travel I got a weird "Tampering" bug which forced the game to shut down, so obviously there are some potential problems that need to be addressed.

    The story of Ryder actually isn't nearly as bad as people make out, he/she has been thrust into a position of authority and as such, as a great burden placed on her shoulders - and its actually nice to see the character grow, her allies are all a bunch of misfits too - especially the lovable PeeBee who I'm sure will be a popular romance choice.

    There are tons of options, from crafting gear to building a unique class from the wide array of skills available, you are not tied down to any one single set of class skills. All of the old favorites are back like the nomad exploration and planet scans for bonus materials, the only feel criticism so far is that space feels oddly empty, with limited planets for actual exploration and for random areas to explore and loot.

    One thing that is sadly true, metacritic has gone downhill a lot in recent years - so many trolls or bottom feeders with fake reviews, or artificially increasing the score, the worst are the trolls who downvote because you haven't given it a 0 or a 10.

    Multiplayer Coop

    Frankly, right now its broken and extremely awful. It is nearly impossible to complete a match without it crashing which is an issue Bioware needs to fix immediately, since it seems to be a common trend among people playing coop. To add further insults, there is no character customization - this is done via unlocking extra class/characters via loot crates (MTS), and you are only as good as your weapon which again, you want good weapons then hope for a good RNG roll when you open those loot crates.

    Whilst you can earn in-game currency to open up loot crates, obviously it is a significant grind and sometimes you're not going to get anything good at all for that time spent, or you could unlock something that totally unbalances the game like the Krogan Mercenary so there is an obvious pay to win mechanic here, whilst its not PvP, the system still heavily favors people who spend $$$ and they'll always win...assuming even they can win a match without crashing.

    The lag is also a major issue because they opted for a peer to peer multiplayer, meaning the host has a huge advantage whilst people who connect suffer from terrible lag spikes, sync issues and even rubber banding quite frequently. Whilst the coop mode is basically just a horde survival mode, it has the possibility to be fun but it needs fixing and some re-balancing.

    Also, worthy of note - the coop is difficult. Expect a lot of failed missions, because the game demands a very good hosted connection, it demands you have excellent gear too which means, players who are not going to spend money will quickly get left behind, this will have a major impact in the near future when you start to see players being kicked because of low APEX ratings - essentially, Bioware got LAZY and just cut and pasted the ME3 coop system.

    Single Player

    Pros

    Interesting Story
    Good character customization
    Crafting
    Romance

    Cons

    Sometimes glitchy
    Dialogue heavy at times
    Not enough interesting side content (lots of fetch quests etc)

    Multiplayer coop

    Pros

    None

    Cons

    Crashes all the time
    Pay 2 win
    Peer to Peer connections RNG loot crates No character customization

People will shrug, say "oh well" and then rush out and buy Anthem as soon as it comes out. Developers no longer have any reason to actually make a quality product, because there is little to no threat of consumer backlash. Great exploration game, combat and movement mechanics are leagues ahead of the previous games. In term of story i'd say better than Mass effect 3, not as good as 1 and 2. Overall great game though.

    I finally realized the main issue I have with Mass Effect Andromeda: the lack of races and development of the mythos. I know, this game is supposed to focus on the Andromeda galaxy, but the first three ME's were so great to me because of its depth. I know, this game is supposed to focus on the Andromeda galaxy, but the first three ME's were so great to me because of its depth. I got so much more out of the back story of ME than I ever have from Star Wars. One thing I'll never forget was riding an elevator in the Citadel and hearing an Elcor reciting Hamlet. You lose out on so much by only having eight races out of the vast array of incredibly designed and written life forms of the Milky Way. Instead of making up for the loss of Quarians, Volus, Batarians, Elcor, etc, Andromeda introduces three new races, and proceedes to shroud them in mystery for large portions of the game. There was such development in the original trilogy: the Krogan/Rachni war, Salarian Genophage, Prothean tech/backstory, Quarian/Geth, Batarian/Vorcha raiders, etc. All of that which gave the series depth, now makes Andromeda seem like Mass Effect lite. I have played the game now for hours and hours, but have yet to experience the same wonder and amazement that I was still feeling during ME3 while mediating an argument between Krogan and Salarian allies about whether to cure the genophage. You had Cerberus, whom one might assume could have infiltrated the Andromeda initiative, but up to this point has been non existent. All of these elements that I've mentioned from the original games made mass effect the game that it was. The gameplay mechanics changed, but fans kept coming back for its engrossing story and lore. The codex was unnecessary in the old games, now it's the equivalent of Destiny's grimoires. When I began Andromeda, I shook off bad reviews. They were mostly based on bad animations and design, but I said, "Whatever, a watered down fighting game like For Honor gets all these great reviews but people are throwing Andromeda out based on 10 hours of gameplay" (closer to three hours of campaign play). I couldn't go on such reviews, feeling like people were just looking for things to complain about after becoming bitter from ME3's ending. But now, after putting over a week into the game, I realize it's fatal flaw is in the one factor that could have been its saving grace: the story. Still, the game is still fun and worth the $60 price tag, especially compared to most other games coming out now. It has elements of Mass Effect that I love, and I am in the camp that is glad they didn't change multiplayer much from ME3. Give this game a shot now if you like multiplayer in ME3 or wait until the price drops a lot for the campaign. Expand

    The only 'meh' thing about this game is the beginning. It is indeed clumsy and weirdly improbable - mainly due to characters' behaviour.
    But - omg - just get through rocky start, and things that happen next are just magic (and Member berries, yas). I absolutely fell in love with Reyes Vidal who is my new Garrus. Peebee - hectic and just 'trying too hard' in the beginning, turned out to be nice and in no way annoying. Characters and events turned out to be deeper and more, well, likable. There are some tough choices, awesome combat, vast galaxy. It kinda feels like ME1 - like an introduction, not deep enough yet, but so promising.
    Give it a shot, people. I'm so sure you are gonna love it.
