While I’m not convinced it’ll ultimately live up to Rhys, Fiona and Loaderbot’s escapades (my own personal favorite series), for sheer enjoyment, it’s shaping up to come mighty close.

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series - Episode 2 is another great episode from the developer. It's better than the first episode in a lot of ways, but still has troubling technical problems that detract from the fun.

Under Pressure keeps the story flowing and the jams pumping as Telltale provides a rare look at one of the Guardians’ upbringings. The hit-or-miss humor and standard technical malfunctions are still on full display, but the strong storytelling helps keep the season moving forward as the dysfunctional space crew keep searching for answers.

An oddly-paced episode is made up for with a deep characterization of the Guardians of the Galaxy, further supplanting the series as a character-driven comedy adventure game. With an unclear look into where the future lies, the next chapter could make or break this series.

Episode 2 manages to deliver far more impactful sense of decision-making (and consequences) than what we saw in the first episode.

By the ending cliffhanger, Guardians creates enough of a mystery with the Eternity Forge--specifically the process and cost of using it--to segue into the next episode. Emotions run high, and that works well for Rocket's story as well as the conflict between Gamora and Nebula, but other pivotal choices seem like overblown drama between kids instead of a ragtag band of heroes. It lacks action and big reveals, but it sets up a lot of different avenues to potentially explore down the line.

Hopefully, Under Pressure is just a momentary blip in a great series rather than a signal of rocky storytelling to come. Given their reign as the all around favorites of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it would be a shame for other stories featuring this dynamic cast to simply be regulated to “just ok” status.

Did my walkthrough last night, I love these games some people say they are just stories with no gameplay and that is half true they areDid my walkthrough last night, I love these games some people say they are just stories with no gameplay and that is half true they are INTERACTIVE stories with a tiny bit of gameplay mostly for puzzle sections but the fun is seeing where the journey goes and changing it with your choices but I found this one particularly sad and honestly brought me to shed a tear which I always congratulate when a game with fantasy characters manages to pull off so well, I knew his backstory but this did it so well, such a good second episode.

Incredibly bland and boring. The humor is bad and cringey, every joke falls flat on its ass. The animations are probably the worst TelltaleIncredibly bland and boring. The humor is bad and cringey, every joke falls flat on its ass. The animations are probably the worst Telltale has done to date and the graphics look straight out of a PS2 game. The villain isn't even interesting and the voice actress makes me take the villain even less serious. Expand
